I am a 36 year old male, non-drinker, non-smoker, though I do partake in marijuana every other week for several hours socially once a day. I am considered obese at 5'6 being 230+ pounds, and take Amlodipine (10mg) and Rosuvastatin (10mg) to control my cholesterol and blood pressure respectively. I also currently have a hydrocele around my right testicle which i have had looked at but haven't done anything about since its initial diagnosis (no pain or discomfort at all), hoping that it might fix itself as I am told they often do.
For several months now I have been experiencing what I can only describe as unusually intense cold shivers. I can usually tell when one is coming as I start to feel nauseous and generally sick, this usually lasting a few seconds to a few minutes and then I am hit by the cold shiver itself which at times may rock my entire body, leaving me shaking in the legs and hands. After a cold shiver I sometimes feel stomach sick or feel it turning, or become slightly gassy (burping), sometimes neither, with these symptoms only last a few seconds to a minute. I will even get these shivers in my sleep, waking me. However after the initial shiver there is a grace period of feeling entirely fine and normal. These cold shivers at their worst happen ever 1-3 hours and at best once a day, I also find that they happen every other week, as in I will have a week of no cold shivers and then a week where they ramp up and then taper off again. I find I can usually work through these cold shivers, doing physical tasks, and there is no pain associated with them that I have noticed, and the temperature of the room does not seem to be a factor in their occurrence.

Hello! I am interested in doing a challenge run for Persona 4 Golden because it was my favorite out of 3, 4 and 5 and need an excuse to revisit it. In the challenge, I can only use personas of a specific arcana. I can use whatever party members I want and the run will be played on very hard with no ng+. Does anyone have any suggestions on which arcana I should go with? I am open to most builds tbh I just need an arcana you can access early and that has low level personas as well as high level. 2023.06.05 09:34 AceKokuren Fedora 37 Latest Kernel Broke Nvidia Drivers
Recently my kernel updated to 6.3.x kernel version. I have both 6.3.4 and 6.3.5 and no matter what steps I follow, it doesn't pick up my Nvidia drivers, which were working just fine on 6.2.12 and previous kernel versions. This affects my second display not being picked up and my main monitor, which is a 1080p monitor, only giving me the 1024x768 resolution.
I have followed a couple guides in order to try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. Weirdly, when I uninstall drivers and reboot, both displays work and in 1080p, and can select the correct refresh rate for my main monitor, but the screen just continuously flickers, and leaves artefacts behind of what screen I was on. After then installing the drivers, it's back to square one.

I don't remember this happening so much before, but now every time I am tending my crops it seems like every single character has to dance, crawl, strut or stroll through my garden. Just today, Mirabel danced through then a few minutes later danced back through the other way. Then Scar just strolled in and laid down in the middle. Wall-E rolled through then sat and watched the entire time. Stitch was there with his Ukulele...and then Elsa, she just comes in and stands in my way looking sad, twice. I think the only ones who didn't make an appearance were Ursula and Arielle. Oh yes, can't forget Minnie who stops to chat while I'm planting or Kristoff and his guitar or Anna coming by twice to tell me it is a beautiful day. Just let me get this stuff planted and I will talk to you...Please.

So, like all of us I have HS. It’s very mild, I only have about 6 dark spots as scars on my groin and I have just had a full 12 months of remission.
I’ve had HS for 7 years, 6 of which I always had at least one active lesion in my groin or on my butt. Because of this I have not had sex or been in a relationship since this first started occurring. (At worst I had 15 connected lesions on each side of my groin, so 30 active at once).
This is silly I know. I know people in this thread have far worse HS than me and they have wonderful and supportive relationships. I commend you and am in awe! I also know that if most people had the same degree of illness as I do they would probably have relationships as normal! It’s that mild and as I said has been gone for 12 months.
Here’s the thing, I am conventionally attractive otherwise. I’m not saying we are not all beautiful, we are, but I am aware of my figure and face and I have never felt comfortable with it. Even before HS I have been irked by my appearance. I hate being looked at and stared at, people calling out to me and talking to me and following me. People asking to catch up with me to get to know me or doing job interviews with me only for me to realize that’s not what they are really after, etc. I’ve always been annoyed by it. I study and work hard and I don’t wear any makeup or revealing clothes. I just try to get on with my own business.
I feel that in another life I probably would not be bothered by my HS at all, however I feel I can’t hook up with anyone because they will be so grossed out by it because to be frank they expect a certain thing. I was actually with someone when I first got the condition but I broke up with them because I could see they were noticing it. We had a good relationship, but let’s just say he owns a $22million dollar house and I don’t think recurring puss filled boils on a woman are what he is looking for. I ended it before I had to explain it and then I’ve tried to find someone who probably wouldn’t care but those types of people are not the ones interested in me. I feel it’s only audacious alpha dudes that ever try for me and they expect a Kim K who doesn’t get pus filled lumps around their vagina, (and her psoriasis is worse than my HS too!) I’m sure there are some nice guys out there who would be understanding of the condition who might fancy me however in my experience they usually get intimidated and never approach. I’ve even had crushes with nice guys that are reciprocated and I’ve tried my hardest to woo them too but then they freak out and either don’t hook up with me or have even flat out stood me up!
Anyway I know this sounds obnoxious and you probably hate me from reading this. But, it might make you feel better to know that pretty girls get HS too. Even my derm took a double take when he looked me in the face after he diagnosed me and he looked at me with such pity. I also had a golf ball sized boil once lanced by a super macho hot doctor who was thrilled I was taking my pants off but after it was done he was so shocked and awkward he was speechless and couldn’t look me in the eye and got me out of his room as soon as possible.
Anyway so that’s all pretty pathetic but now this next reason why I’m winging is that recently my HS has come, THIS TIME ON MY NECK. I can’t believe it. I’ve had a few lesions on my scalp but I just thought it was regular acne. How wrong was I. I’ve just developed 5 connected bumps on the nape of my neck. I’m sure people can see the redness and swelling when I have my hair up. And some burst a couple of days ago and for the first time I think there is odor from the lesions and people noticed. I can’t believe it and I don’t know what to do. I also forgot how painful HS is. The pain is radiating all the way down my shoulders and back. I’m so tired of this condition and hate to wonder what people will think. I already hate the attention I get and now I have to have a rare disgusting disease that people can now see and gossip about. I actually don’t know if I can face it I already hate people talking about me.
I’m wondering is there anyone else in a similar situation as me? And if anyone has any advice on how to treat HS on the scalp. Ugh I can’t believe this.

When we all were in 11th, we purchased the best JEE books we knew of. Many of us didn't finish them or even touch them... otherwise we would've gotten a brilliant rank. But anyways, i realised that its necessary to keep the begginner's foolishness in you, cause it helps you to aim big and work for it. Those who kept that foolishness alive did great at the end :).
So in the same context, I am just lika an 11thie in the programming world and I want to know the best resources to learn c++ and dsa.
I learnt C programming from a channel called 'thenewboston'.I have watched few striver's videos and he seems like a genuinely good guy and his DSA sheet is very famous.
So can anyone tell me how i should proceed with these, or something else if it is there?(Would be great if there was something like a proper organised course which taught both(c+ + and dsa) from basic to advance)

First Impressions: Scrikss: Rotring 300 copy with a retractable lead sleeve that is better than the original by a large margin. The matri-X is the Scrikss to buy in my opinion. I say this due to the fact that the graph-X is the same exact thing with a metal body for double the price; the weight difference from the latter is negligible. Both were bought to live their life as a colored pencil and they accomplish their desired functions fairly well. I want each colored pencil to be different and because they are, in my mind, the same pencil one will most likely get replaced and stored. High-Grade: Fantastic! I prefer the straight lead sleeve on this and the Roulette to the slightly conical sleeve on the Advanced models. Similar in size to the Roulette which I like when compared to the fatter Advanced models, but I prefer the grip on the Roulette. Therapy is expensive Reddit is free: The High-Grade is very similar in size and build to the Roulette and as a result opening it filled me with a wave of emotions. Part 1
My father spent 14 years locked behind the thick steel doors of the Barry Telford State Penitentiary located right outside Texarkana, Texas. Recently I took an interest in the darker events that have happened to various family members and sat down to ask him if he had any chilling stories or experiences he could share about his time he spent incarcerated, anything that he hadn’t shared with me before.
I was both pleased and horrified as for the next two hours he divulged some truly chilling and grotesque tales. I will just let you know now that some of these stories are graphic and if you have a weak stomach I’d advise you not to read further. For the rest of you, I won’t sparse details and I’ll lay them out exactly as he laid them out to me.
My dad was sent to the Telford unit a few months after his 21st birthday, sentenced to 20 years for armed robbery. It is a maximum security prison designed to mostly hold suspected gang members and violent criminals.
“The first day is a total shock to your system. You are stripped and cavity searched coming in and out of every room, you have a bed time, you are timed at meals, and thrown into a cell with 3 other inmates telling you the house rules and which bunk is yours. Then laying in bed that first night… that’s when it hits you that this is home, that this is your life now. Out of anything I can recall, that feeling of helplessness and hopelessness, that loss of freedom, that’s the scariest part of prison.”
He told me that as the months pass you get used to your routine, you start to need the structure, even crave it. He said he decided to make the best of it, learn as many skills as he could, and stay as busy as possible. One of his vocational skills he picked up was plumbing, and soon became the in house plumber for ‘A’ building.
Now the way the prison is set up is that there is an A-Building and a B-Building. Inside each building there are 10 cell houses, each cell house contains 12 cells that can hold anywhere from 1 to 4 inmates each. In the middle of each cell house is the Rec Room where the cells all open up to and this is where the inmates spend most of their free time.
In addition to the cell houses each building also contains several solitary wings, labeled from ‘A-Seg’ to ‘Z-Seg’.
“When I first got there, everyone kept joking that if I stepped out of line the guards would send me to ‘M-Seg.’ One day I asked a buddy, who had been locked up for 15 years already when I got there, why people kept talking about ‘M-Seg’ and not any of the other seg wings.”
“Look,” his buddy told him, “people who have extended stays in M just don’t come back the same, some don’t come back at all. The guards know it, that’s why they always fill M last, or put new guys there who they think might be troublemakers. A night in M and you’ll straighten your act up real quick. I’ve never been there myself, but I talked to a couple inmates who have and they both told me the same thing, something evil lives in that place.” So like I said, my dad had become the on call plumber for A-Building. He said it was about 6 months into the job when he had his first encounter with M-Seg.
“Whenever a toilet was stopped up or something was leaking the guards would just knock on my door and lead me to the problem. It was an around the clock type of thing, I didn’t mind though, any excuse to get out of the cell was fine by me. Plus you get your own cell since you’d be coming in and out at all hours of the night and day so that was a nice perk as well. Anyway, one night there is a knock on my door and the guard tell me to, ‘get dressed Rashell, we need you in seg.’ I get up, the guard opens my door and we start heading down to seg.”
“It’s a real mess down there, I’ve seen a lot of shit in my day but this is crazy…” the guard told my dad as he led him down the connecting corridors, “just make sure you wear your gloves and booties, Rashell.”
My dad was curious and asked the guard what had happened.
“Looney-toon on suicide watch, I guess somehow must’ve snuck in a piece of metal. Look, I shouldn’t tell you this but I don’t want you to be surprised when you get in there. ‘Crazy’ cut off his own genitals. He threw his testicles out on the run, but we can’t find his penis, and that’s where you come in.”
When they reached their destination there was another guard standing outside with an inmate holding a mop waiting to clean up after my dad was finished. My dad said when they opened the door to M-Seg it was almost hauntingly dark, four or five dim overhead lights ran down the hallway but seemed to act more like spotlights and gave off practically no ambient light. He said there was a trail of blood leading towards the back of the corridor. Each seg block had 14 cells with solid steel doors. Each door had a small window that could be opened and closed from the outside and a tray slit which the guy must’ve used to toss his testicles out. As he got closer he could see that blood was running out from a cell towards the end of the block through a small gap under the door.
“Open 13,” the guard yelled to another guard behind a glass window controlling the electronic locks.
“When I went in to that cell I couldn’t believe how much blood there was. It was on the walls and the ceiling, the entire mattress pad was doused in it… The toilet was flooded up to the brim and it looked like it was filled with blood. I used a cup to transfer the bloody water into buckets until I could start to see the silhouette of something under the water. I could see a big wad of toilet paper so I pulled it out and sat it on the floor. I could tell something was inside it. As I started to slowly unravel the wad, all of a sudden I started hearing this noise coming from the air vents, ‘tunk tunk tunk,’ it sounded like someone crawling or trying to sneak through them almost, I didn’t think much of it at the time but I’ll get back to that later. Anyway, I unroll the paper and sure enough the guy’s pecker was right there.”
The guard took it and dropped it in a bag of ice and after making sure the toilet flushed he started leading my dad back to the entrance of M Seg.
“When we got down the hall waiting for the exit door to open all the lights went out.”
“Shit,” muttered the guard, “against the wall inmate.”
“I stood back against the wall,” my dad continued, “and as the guards tried to figure out what was going on I heard that noise in the vents again. It was coming from the cell I had just come out of,
“‘tunk tunk tunk…’
“I didn’t know what it was but it gave me this awful feeling, and as I was standing there I realized it was getting louder and faster and closer to me.
“‘tunk… tunk…. tunk, tunk, TUNK, TUNK, TUNK.’
“It sounded like whatever was in that vent was now in a dead sprint right at us, the guard was trying to ignore it but I could tell he heard it too because he kept looking back over his shoulder and started yelling at the guard behind the glass.
“‘Hey! Hey!’ -TUNK, TUNK, TUNK- ‘Hurry up and get this fucking door open!’ -TUNK, TUNK, TUNK-
“Just as the noise in the vent got up to us, the lights came back on and it went silent. The door opened up and the guard got us out of there as fast as he could. A few days later I saw the inmate who was waiting on janitor duty that night and asked him if he had seen anything. He told me he saw them wheel a guy covered in blood out on a stretcher and that he was screaming about a ‘man in the vents’ and that the man had told him to do it.”
My dad also asked him if he had heard anything in the vents while he was mopping up, but he told my dad he didn’t hear anything, but that he found the metal the man from 13 had used to cut himself.
“It was buried in a pool of blood,” the guy said, “damnedest thing too, looked like a piece of shrapnel cut out from air duct metal.”
The next story my dad shared with me is more graphic and scary in the sense of what human beings are capable of.
“We get new guys that think they are going to be bad asses all the time. Sometimes it works out for them and other times it doesn’t. There were lots of serious gangs in BTU, and sometimes you get a guy who comes in from a local street gang that doesn’t really comprehend how violent some of these big gangs are. It’s like they are ‘playing’ gang to look cool, like kids play cops and robbers, the problem is that they think other people are just ‘playing’ gang too or something.
“Anyway we had this one guy, Ricky, come in and everyone but him knew it was going to end badly for him. He was this young Hispanic guy, and he thought his small town gang was a direct rival to another Hispanic gang, MS-13. He would curse out and disrespect them in front of everyone at chow time and in the halls, and scream at their members who’d pass his cell.
“He’d only been there a week, some of the elders tried telling him he needed to calm down before he got hurt but Ricky was hard headed and just wouldn’t hear it.
“Well one day during dinner the chow hall was quiet and Ricky was nowhere to be seen. My table was dismissed first and as we made our way back to our cell house we turned the corner to see Ricky covered in blood stumbling towards us, arms wrapped around his stomach.
“He was completely naked, big patches of his skin cut from his body where his tattoos had been. Both of his eyes were popped out from their sockets and were just dangling towards the ground. The side of his head was caved in where they had stomped his skull until his eyes came out. As he came closer I could see he was holding his intestines in his hands.
“The worst part to me is that he hadn’t died during it, that he was conscious for every blow and every cut… He just hobbled up the hall in our directions crying and asking,
“‘Why can’t I look up? Why can’t I look up?’
“He collapsed and passed out a few seconds later, and died right there at our feet. They never found out who did it…”
Alright I’ll share one more story my dad shared with me I found kind of creepy, as this is getting pretty long.
About seven years into his stint in prison my dad said through a series of circumstances he ended up having to stay the night in M-Seg. The A-Building was being renovated and repaired and as a result they were sending the inmates to stay in seg in waves.
Well it had been years since my dad had been to the rarely used M-seg and he had convinced himself that he was just hearing things that night. They were leading prisoners out one cell at a time and transferring them to the various seg blocks. My dad’s cell was on the end and he had his cell to himself so when they transferred him he wasn’t accompanied by any other inmates. To his dismay all the seg blocks had been filled, except for M, that is.
They led him down to the end of M and opened the door to 14, which was right next to the cell the man had cut himself in all those years ago.
“Everything was fine until lights out. It was really dark in there, each cell has a little night light thing above the toilet but it’s not enough to see anything or read or write. Anyway it was so dark I figured the only thing I could do was go to sleep. But all night I kept hearing the guy in the cell next to me talking to himself. The way the cells are set up the vents carry any little noise to the adjoining cells. The vent themselves are located right at the foot of the little cots in each cell. People would sit next to them to communicate and pass time during stints in solitary but this guy wasn’t talking to me he was like he was talking to himself and it was starting to really wear on my nerves. I banged on the vent and told him to keep it down but he just kept talking in this whispery voice, and it sounded like he was chanting the same thing over and over but I couldn’t make out what he was saying. I put my ear up to the vent to try and see what he was saying and my hairs stood up on the back of my head when I swear god I felt his breath in my ear as clear as day I heard him whispering,
“‘I remember you, I remember you, I remember you.’ in this frantic melodic tune.
“‘Well you won’t remember anything when I bash your head in if you don’t keep it down in there,’ I told him.
“All of a sudden his voice got a little louder and angrier in tone,
“‘I’ll slit your throat, I’ll slit your throat, I’ll slit your throat.’
“I was a little unnerved but I’ve heard a lot worse after so many years in prison so I just told him to fuck off and decided I’d let the guards deal with it in the morning. Well morning came and when the guard brought me my breakfast I told him if he didn’t do something about the guy keeping me up all night in 13 that I would.
“‘What are you talking about Rashell? You are the only person in M seg,’ the guard told me as chills ran down my spine.
“That night as soon as the light went out the whispers started again, and this time I was petrified.

It scared me so bad I fell out of my cot and scooted on the floor until I felt my back hit the wall opposing the air vent. As my eyes came into focus in absolute horror I saw the silhouette of a head directly inside the vent. I couldn’t make out it’s features but I see it’s eyes. They were full of hatred and rage and they were locked right into me. Fast and louder he just continued screaming that he’d slit my throat, as the vent casing started to shake. Now the vents go straight up in a duct to a main duct then back down to the next cell through another duct, so you can’t see into your neighbor’s cell from your cell. That meant whatever this… thing… was, it was right inside my vent… I jumped up and banged on the steel door as hard as I could telling for a guard.
“‘Help! Help! Somebody!’
“A guard came running down the hall and as soon as he slid the door window open the vent went silent.
“‘You gotta get me out of here, something is in the vents,’ I pleaded.
“To my surprise the guard didn’t protest my request. Instead he just told me to hang tight for a second and then clicked his radio and said,
“‘Need an open cell for a transfer from M seg,’ he paused for a second then leaned back into his radio and simply said, ‘he’s back.’
“He opened the door and led me down the corridor and as they did the whole time we were followed by that familiar sound in the vents,
“‘Tunk… tunk… tunk…’
“I’ve seen and heard a lot in my years, not a lot gets under my skin, but I was shaking like a leaf the whole way out of M-seg… I don’t think I took a breath until I walked out the block doors and heard them shut behind me. I finally worked up the nerve to ask that guard what the hell was in those vents.
“‘I don’t know, Rashell. Warden’ll tell you there’s nothing in those vents. All I can tell you is that whatever it is, it’s evil.’”

My father spent 14 years locked behind the thick steel doors of the Barry Telford State Penitentiary located right outside Texarkana, Texas. Recently I took an interest in the darker events that have happened to various family members and sat down to ask him if he had any chilling stories or experiences he could share about his time he spent incarcerated, anything that he hadn’t shared with me before.
I was both pleased and horrified as for the next two hours he divulged some truly chilling and grotesque tales. I will just let you know now that some of these stories are graphic and if you have a weak stomach I’d advise you not to read further. For the rest of you, I won’t sparse details and I’ll lay them out exactly as he laid them out to me.
My dad was sent to the Telford unit a few months after his 21st birthday, sentenced to 20 years for armed robbery. It is a maximum security prison designed to mostly hold suspected gang members and violent criminals.
“The first day is a total shock to your system. You are stripped and cavity searched coming in and out of every room, you have a bed time, you are timed at meals, and thrown into a cell with 3 other inmates telling you the house rules and which bunk is yours. Then laying in bed that first night… that’s when it hits you that this is home, that this is your life now. Out of anything I can recall, that feeling of helplessness and hopelessness, that loss of freedom, that’s the scariest part of prison.”
He told me that as the months pass you get used to your routine, you start to need the structure, even crave it. He said he decided to make the best of it, learn as many skills as he could, and stay as busy as possible. One of his vocational skills he picked up was plumbing, and soon became the in house plumber for ‘A’ building.
Now the way the prison is set up is that there is an A-Building and a B-Building. Inside each building there are 10 cell houses, each cell house contains 12 cells that can hold anywhere from 1 to 4 inmates each. In the middle of each cell house is the Rec Room where the cells all open up to and this is where the inmates spend most of their free time.
In addition to the cell houses each building also contains several solitary wings, labeled from ‘A-Seg’ to ‘Z-Seg’.
“When I first got there, everyone kept joking that if I stepped out of line the guards would send me to ‘M-Seg.’ One day I asked a buddy, who had been locked up for 15 years already when I got there, why people kept talking about ‘M-Seg’ and not any of the other seg wings.”
“Look,” his buddy told him, “people who have extended stays in M just don’t come back the same, some don’t come back at all. The guards know it, that’s why they always fill M last, or put new guys there who they think might be troublemakers. A night in M and you’ll straighten your act up real quick. I’ve never been there myself, but I talked to a couple inmates who have and they both told me the same thing, something evil lives in that place.” So like I said, my dad had become the on call plumber for A-Building. He said it was about 6 months into the job when he had his first encounter with M-Seg.
“Whenever a toilet was stopped up or something was leaking the guards would just knock on my door and lead me to the problem. It was an around the clock type of thing, I didn’t mind though, any excuse to get out of the cell was fine by me. Plus you get your own cell since you’d be coming in and out at all hours of the night and day so that was a nice perk as well. Anyway, one night there is a knock on my door and the guard tell me to, ‘get dressed Rashell, we need you in seg.’ I get up, the guard opens my door and we start heading down to seg.”
“It’s a real mess down there, I’ve seen a lot of shit in my day but this is crazy…” the guard told my dad as he led him down the connecting corridors, “just make sure you wear your gloves and booties, Rashell.”
My dad was curious and asked the guard what had happened.
“Looney-toon on suicide watch, I guess somehow must’ve snuck in a piece of metal. Look, I shouldn’t tell you this but I don’t want you to be surprised when you get in there. ‘Crazy’ cut off his own genitals. He threw his testicles out on the run, but we can’t find his penis, and that’s where you come in.”
When they reached their destination there was another guard standing outside with an inmate holding a mop waiting to clean up after my dad was finished. My dad said when they opened the door to M-Seg it was almost hauntingly dark, four or five dim overhead lights ran down the hallway but seemed to act more like spotlights and gave off practically no ambient light. He said there was a trail of blood leading towards the back of the corridor. Each seg block had 14 cells with solid steel doors. Each door had a small window that could be opened and closed from the outside and a tray slit which the guy must’ve used to toss his testicles out. As he got closer he could see that blood was running out from a cell towards the end of the block through a small gap under the door.
“Open 13,” the guard yelled to another guard behind a glass window controlling the electronic locks.
“When I went in to that cell I couldn’t believe how much blood there was. It was on the walls and the ceiling, the entire mattress pad was doused in it… The toilet was flooded up to the brim and it looked like it was filled with blood. I used a cup to transfer the bloody water into buckets until I could start to see the silhouette of something under the water. I could see a big wad of toilet paper so I pulled it out and sat it on the floor. I could tell something was inside it. As I started to slowly unravel the wad, all of a sudden I started hearing this noise coming from the air vents, ‘tunk tunk tunk,’ it sounded like someone crawling or trying to sneak through them almost, I didn’t think much of it at the time but I’ll get back to that later. Anyway, I unroll the paper and sure enough the guy’s pecker was right there.”
The guard took it and dropped it in a bag of ice and after making sure the toilet flushed he started leading my dad back to the entrance of M Seg.
“When we got down the hall waiting for the exit door to open all the lights went out.”
“Shit,” muttered the guard, “against the wall inmate.”
“I stood back against the wall,” my dad continued, “and as the guards tried to figure out what was going on I heard that noise in the vents again. It was coming from the cell I had just come out of,
“‘tunk tunk tunk…’
“I didn’t know what it was but it gave me this awful feeling, and as I was standing there I realized it was getting louder and faster and closer to me.
“‘tunk… tunk…. tunk, tunk, TUNK, TUNK, TUNK.’
“It sounded like whatever was in that vent was now in a dead sprint right at us, the guard was trying to ignore it but I could tell he heard it too because he kept looking back over his shoulder and started yelling at the guard behind the glass.
“‘Hey! Hey!’ -TUNK, TUNK, TUNK- ‘Hurry up and get this fucking door open!’ -TUNK, TUNK, TUNK-
“Just as the noise in the vent got up to us, the lights came back on and it went silent. The door opened up and the guard got us out of there as fast as he could. A few days later I saw the inmate who was waiting on janitor duty that night and asked him if he had seen anything. He told me he saw them wheel a guy covered in blood out on a stretcher and that he was screaming about a ‘man in the vents’ and that the man had told him to do it.”
My dad also asked him if he had heard anything in the vents while he was mopping up, but he told my dad he didn’t hear anything, but that he found the metal the man from 13 had used to cut himself.
“It was buried in a pool of blood,” the guy said, “damnedest thing too, looked like a piece of shrapnel cut out from air duct metal.”
The next story my dad shared with me is more graphic and scary in the sense of what human beings are capable of.
“We get new guys that think they are going to be bad asses all the time. Sometimes it works out for them and other times it doesn’t. There were lots of serious gangs in BTU, and sometimes you get a guy who comes in from a local street gang that doesn’t really comprehend how violent some of these big gangs are. It’s like they are ‘playing’ gang to look cool, like kids play cops and robbers, the problem is that they think other people are just ‘playing’ gang too or something.
“Anyway we had this one guy, Ricky, come in and everyone but him knew it was going to end badly for him. He was this young Hispanic guy, and he thought his small town gang was a direct rival to another Hispanic gang, MS-13. He would curse out and disrespect them in front of everyone at chow time and in the halls, and scream at their members who’d pass his cell.
“He’d only been there a week, some of the elders tried telling him he needed to calm down before he got hurt but Ricky was hard headed and just wouldn’t hear it.
“Well one day during dinner the chow hall was quiet and Ricky was nowhere to be seen. My table was dismissed first and as we made our way back to our cell house we turned the corner to see Ricky covered in blood stumbling towards us, arms wrapped around his stomach.
“He was completely naked, big patches of his skin cut from his body where his tattoos had been. Both of his eyes were popped out from their sockets and were just dangling towards the ground. The side of his head was caved in where they had stomped his skull until his eyes came out. As he came closer I could see he was holding his intestines in his hands.
“The worst part to me is that he hadn’t died during it, that he was conscious for every blow and every cut… He just hobbled up the hall in our directions crying and asking,
“‘Why can’t I look up? Why can’t I look up?’
“He collapsed and passed out a few seconds later, and died right there at our feet. They never found out who did it…”
Alright I’ll share one more story my dad shared with me I found kind of creepy, as this is getting pretty long.
About seven years into his stint in prison my dad said through a series of circumstances he ended up having to stay the night in M-Seg. The A-Building was being renovated and repaired and as a result they were sending the inmates to stay in seg in waves.
Well it had been years since my dad had been to the rarely used M-seg and he had convinced himself that he was just hearing things that night. They were leading prisoners out one cell at a time and transferring them to the various seg blocks. My dad’s cell was on the end and he had his cell to himself so when they transferred him he wasn’t accompanied by any other inmates. To his dismay all the seg blocks had been filled, except for M, that is.
They led him down to the end of M and opened the door to 14, which was right next to the cell the man had cut himself in all those years ago.
“Everything was fine until lights out. It was really dark in there, each cell has a little night light thing above the toilet but it’s not enough to see anything or read or write. Anyway it was so dark I figured the only thing I could do was go to sleep. But all night I kept hearing the guy in the cell next to me talking to himself. The way the cells are set up the vents carry any little noise to the adjoining cells. The vent themselves are located right at the foot of the little cots in each cell. People would sit next to them to communicate and pass time during stints in solitary but this guy wasn’t talking to me he was like he was talking to himself and it was starting to really wear on my nerves. I banged on the vent and told him to keep it down but he just kept talking in this whispery voice, and it sounded like he was chanting the same thing over and over but I couldn’t make out what he was saying. I put my ear up to the vent to try and see what he was saying and my hairs stood up on the back of my head when I swear god I felt his breath in my ear as clear as day I heard him whispering,
“‘I remember you, I remember you, I remember you.’ in this frantic melodic tune.
“‘Well you won’t remember anything when I bash your head in if you don’t keep it down in there,’ I told him.
“All of a sudden his voice got a little louder and angrier in tone,
“‘I’ll slit your throat, I’ll slit your throat, I’ll slit your throat.’
“I was a little unnerved but I’ve heard a lot worse after so many years in prison so I just told him to fuck off and decided I’d let the guards deal with it in the morning. Well morning came and when the guard brought me my breakfast I told him if he didn’t do something about the guy keeping me up all night in 13 that I would.
“‘What are you talking about Rashell? You are the only person in M seg,’ the guard told me as chills ran down my spine.
“That night as soon as the light went out the whispers started again, and this time I was petrified.

My birthday is coming up. My family don't recognise/remember my birthday anymore, and in my friendship circle no one gives gifts. I do however, have one friend who got me a present last year and has supposedly got me something this year. Last year was a keychain, for reference. Just a small acknowledgement. I still use the keychain because the gesture meant so much to me -- i think I'll keep it forever.
Anyway... when I was little I was given a present once at xmas time. I can't remember what it was, but I remember the wrapping paper so well. I didnt open it at xmas, I kept it until February, because I was so excited about it. The knowledge someone gave me something was worth more than whatever was inside.
So...I know it seems petty. But actually seeing a wrapped present would mean a lot to me. Last year my keychain was handed to me alongside a beer -- which was also great! But I think having a gift wrapped would just...idk feel more special?

Hello, currently level 51 Druid playing the pulverise build and having a lot of fun! I’ve checked out the build guide on max roll and believe I am specced into the correct skills and have a full set of legendaries with most of the important affixes (pulverise is an earth attack, shockwave etc).
I am absolutely destroying high density pulls but am finding boss encounters rather tedious. The encounters are just really long as opposed to being particularly challenging on tier 2 and I was wondering if anyone has advice as to how I might switch up the build to better handle solo non dense content, which still staying true to the huge aoe high Crit build.

For context, I am an 18F and I'm a cellist. I will be attending college in the fall for performance, so I have a personal instrument that was a gift (this is important, it was a Christmas gift when I was 17) from my mother. I moved out of my mother's house the day before I turned 18 due to a long term abusive household. I currently have chosen no contact with her. So this cello had a total cost of 4 grand, of which the plan was for my mom to pay half and my dad to pay half since they are divorced and have been for over a decade. After moving out I discovered through the man we got the cello from that only 1300 had been paid on the cello at the time it was supposed to be fully paid off, at which time my dad had also sent my mom the entirety of his 2000 dollars, meaning she did not put it towards the instrument like promised. So now I have the instrument, no contact with the person supposed to be paying it off, and the guy I got it from had my contact info so he has been somewhat periodically contacting me about it's payments, to which I have been so nervous about responding so he's been left hanging for the most part. He called me yesterday, and pretty much asked the same thing about him needing it paid off since he is shutting down his business soon. Am I right to think this debt is not my responsibility to pay? I was still a kid when my mom chose to start paying it, and literally everyone who knows her is tired of having to pick up her bs. Am I at risk of losing this cello or it being collected like a car would? I'm so stressed about this because it seems like there is nothing I can do about it. I am currently saving up for a car so I can actually go to college myself so paying off the cello myself (again even though I was never under the assumption that it was my responsibility) could mean not getting a car. What should I do?

Hi, I am male and around 10 weeks ago I received unprotected oral from a high risk encounter.
After 2 weeks I started feeling fatigued for 2 days and then a red rash in both my groins (mainly in folds) and close to scrotum broke out. Nothing on my penis. It didn't really hurt or itch. After 3-4 weeks of this, I went to doc who said it was fungal, cream didn't work, been to dermatologist, and two men's health clinics both didn't know what it was. Tried lots of creams etc...
Had every sti test going and all have been neagtive. Including igg blood test at 6+ weeks and 9+ weeks. Both negative for HSV2 but positive for HSV1. I have always had coldsores so I knew HSV1 would be positive.
Over the last 2-3 weeks my urethra has been hurting, and the tip has been rubbing on my underwear. The rash in my groin has subsided but an itch/burning sensation has started. It's now driving me crazy!!!! Also have a prickly feeling in my testicles/scrotum. Not fun.
No blisters just lots small red/white bumps in groin areas. From my butt checks right up towards my stomach. On both sides.
All the docs have said it's not herpes but as ALL other sti tests have come back negative the only assumption I can come to is that it's ghsv1. Also since I received oral sex.
One doc keeps telling me it's prostatitis. But it make no sense as it has to be linked to this one off encounter.
I have tried Valtrex for 7 days (2g per day) but the symptoms have not improved. Also, on nerve pain medication which isn't helping.
I'm not sure how much longer I can put up with the not knowing, irritation and burning.
I know herpes can present in many different ways. I just feel like the docs aren't listening to me and it's been months of this now! I'm not sure how much more I can take.
I am going back to see the docs this week but any advice or thoughts would be truly appreciated. Thanks

And I am terrified! I have KIT days every Friday in June then back 3 days from July. I was really ill during my pregnancy so I’ve been off 18 months in total 😬 I work in SEN and I do love it but I’m just nervous and worried I’m going to be rubbish at the job now and that I won’t be able to do all the things I need to. Any advice? Reassurance? I have hidden disabilities which can make anxiety worse and I don’t know if I’m overthinking things!

My issue is with the stack. If an opponent activates an ability on something how can I tell the source of said ability?
For example I just played someone using the new transform creatures and they had two of the same card on the battlefield. They activated one of them to transform but I had zero way to tell which one they activated so I could kill it in response. Am I just dumb or is this a major flaw to playing on mobile?
