2023.06.09 16:12 ItsG91 Just landed my first wedding!

Not my first time shooting video, but my first time capturing a wedding. Landed it through a Facebook group, and it's coming up in 2 weeks!
I just have a couple of questions, being this is my first go at it:
  1. My main camera is a Sony a7iv with a Tamron 28-75. The only other camera I have right now, though, is my old Sony a6000 with a 35mm (I have the kit lens as well). My thought was to set it up on the tripod to capture the ceremony. Outside of the 30 minute run time, which I'll just have to pay attention to, I think I'm going to run into some issues when it comes to matching colors. I don't have a couple extra thousand to buy another camera right now. Would I be able to work with this? Or is it going to be a pain?
  2. I'm meeting with the bridge and groom today via zoom (i'm out of town). Outside of some basic questions getting to know the couple, trying to establish a point of contact for the wedding day, and getting their timeline. I'm not quite sure what else to ask them? Would love some insight here!
  3. Audio wise - I just have a Zoom h1n with a cheap lav mic. Do you think I should set this up on the groom? Anyone at all?
  4. Accessories wise - I have 2 a7iv batteries, 5 a6000 batteries, 2 128gb cards, DJI Mini 2, and a DJI RS3 mini. Is there any thing else I should consider to make my day easier, or less frustrating? I'm definitely going to pick up a couple extra batteries for the a7iv.
  5. I've seen a couple people mention shooting handheld vs a gimbal. Is this preference or...? Would love some additional insight here!
I'm doing it for super cheap, and it's an 8-10 hour day. It's a 200 person wedding though, so I believe that if I do well, it could be the start of something great.
Thank you all so much!

2023.06.09 16:09 Theredredditrabbit Is it better to hold LISA funds in Instant Access until just before tax year cut off?

Hey all, wondering if it makes more sense to leave funds in Instant Access Savings Account and then only transferring to LISA before tax year cut-off to ensure eligibility for 25% bonus but ensure access to funds without incurring withdrawal fee should something hugely unexpected come up?
I do have an e-fund and know that's what it's for but just wanted to see what people do ie pay into LISA monthly vs EOY lump sum? Especially given Instant Access slightly outperforms LISA interest rate (Monebybox 3.5% vs Chip instant access 3.8%)

2023.06.09 16:05 yogog16034 Question about accidental pollination

Question about accidental pollination
Okay so I'll try to make this as short and sweet as possible. I had 5 autos growing but one of them never went into flower with the rest. Faulty genetics I guess. No biggie, plan was to just keep it trained until the autos were done and harvested, then flip to 12/12 and let it take over my tent by itself. However, I noticed about 3 days ago somehow some accidental pollination happened. I have no clue how but at least 3 of the 4 autos are seeded which really sucks. I've looked all of them over and have seen no sign of herms or pollen sacs so I'm not sure what happened. The autos are at probably day 75 or so and likely have between 7-10 days left since they're relatively small.
My question is, is there any chance the photo will end up seeded as well if I keep it in the tent? It's not flowering atm since my schedule is 16/8 but does have small signs of pre flower since it was germinated the same day as the rest of its sisters and is ~75 days old. Will she be fine as long as she's not actively flowering? And will I be ok to just clean out and wipe down my tent after the autos are out and let her flower? Advice appreciated.

2023.06.09 16:03 Thisvthat Anime On Amazon: The Collapse of Anime Strike

Here's a link to the video [6:17]

Transcript:

On January 12, 2017, Amazon launched Anime Strike–an anime focused subscription service– in the United States. It was launched on Amazon Channels, a program that allowed Amazon Prime customers to subscribe to various channels like HBO, Starz, and Showtime through their platform. If you decided to subscribe to Anime Strike, you wouldn’t have to see any ads but it would cost you $4.99 a month. In addition to video-on-demand, the service would also be simulcasting various shows from Japan, like Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga. In order to pull more fans to the service, Amazon had acquired the exclusive U.S. streaming rights for several anime, including Scum’s Wish and The Great Passage.
Anime Strike was Amazon’s first attempt at creating an original channel. As for why they decided to target anime fans, they thought that they could fill a gap left open by traditional media. According to Michael Paull, Amazon’s Vice President of Digital Video and the lead of Amazon Channels, “With anime in particular, there’s a strong, passionate audience that is underserved by traditional pay TV.”
The service faced criticism immediately upon release, with its price at the center of attention. As mentioned previously, Amazon Channels were only available to Amazon Prime customers, and each channel required its own, separate, subscription. Meaning that you’d have to pay $99 a year, or $12.99 a month, for Amazon Prime and then an additional $4.99 a month if you wanted to watch Anime Strike. This would make it significantly more expensive than other anime streaming services like Crunchyroll and Funimation, and still more expensive than less anime-focused services like Hulu and Netflix. And, unlike Funimation and Crunchyroll, there wasn’t a cheaper, ad-supported, option for viewers. If all you wanted to do was watch the anime on Amazon’s new service, it wouldn’t be cheap.
When Anime News Network asked about why they decided to charge an additional fee on top of a Prime subscription, here was Michael Paull’s response, “Well, the definition of TV has changed a lot over the last couple years. At the highest level, there's increased customer choice with the growth of on-demand programming and the proliferation of channels and ways to get those channels. It's become all about bringing customers what they want to watch, when and where they want to watch it. That's what we've done with Anime Strike. There's a passionate group of fans who would love to have anime content all in one place, and to do that made sense – to create a separate, dedicated channel. There's much more anime content available as part of the subscription than what can be found in Prime Video, which is similar to other channels like HBO, or PBS Kids for example.”
While it would feature more than 1000 episodes and movies, Anime Strike’s catalog wasn’t very impressive when compared to Crunchyroll and Funimation. But, with the Spring anime season just around the corner, they didn’t waste time. In March, they signed deals with both Sentai Filmworks and Aniplex. And, on April 5, 2017, Anime Strike announced their Spring line-up, which featured 12 shows, with 10 of them being Anime Strike exclusives. And these exclusive agreements highlighted another problem that fans had with the service: further fragmentation.
After Funimation and Crunchyroll’s partnership agreement was signed in 2016, it looked like anime fans would finally have an “all-in-one” streaming service. If you wanted to watch simulcasted anime, a Crunchyroll subscription would get you most of the way there. If you wanted dubs, the same was true for Funimation. But with Anime Strike in the mix, and gobbling up several popular exclusives, this was no longer true. And it seems as if Amazon’s strategy was paying off. In a statement to Forbes, Amazon announced that Anime Strike was performing better than they expected. “Anime Strike is performing great… Signups are higher than initial projections as we add more content and more features. Besides new episodes every week and new shows every season, we’ve been able to introduce new things that anime fans weren’t able to get before like the ability to download and watch thousands of episodes or movies on Anime Strike to their smartphone and tablet (which is awesome for anyone who’ll be traveling a lot this summer) or a free manga every month from ComiXology.”
And all of those signups were from the United States. From the very beginning, Amazon hadn’t been willing to say anything about releasing Anime Strike in other markets.
[Mother’s Basement]: “Amazon Prime Video only just became available to Canada this winter, when it was also rolled out to the rest of the world. But, even now, it feels like the ‘rest of the world’ is an afterthought for Amazon. The Prime Video app still isn’t available on any Canadian app store for any of the devices that are currently plugged into my TV. And the actual Anime Strike service isn’t available here at all. Which means that what few shows that we do have are one, or more, episodes behind and we have no way to access their premium simulcast service.”
When asked about this on launch day, they didn’t have anything to say. And when asked a similar question by Forbes in May, their response was a little longer, but still didn’t say anything.
News slowed down until June 30, when Anime Strike announced their summer line-up. However, there was a significant drop off in the number of exclusives. Out of the 11 new shows in the line-up, only three of them were exclusives. And, while no one knew it at the time, this was the beginning of the end. News would dry up over the course of the summer season, and the channel’s social media accounts went silent. Anime Strike would release its Fall line-up on October 3, and it would only include two exclusive shows. News would dry up again and the winter season would pass without Anime Strike releasing a new exclusive line-up. Then, on January 5, 2018, less than a year after the service was launched, Anime Strike was shut down. All of the content that was originally exclusive to Anime Strike would be available through Prime Video, and all existing subscriptions to the channel would be automatically canceled.
Despite its problems, it was surprising to see the service shuttered so quickly. Amazon was, at least initially, willing to dump lots of money into the service in order to secure exclusive streaming rights and pull in customers. But it looks like, at some point in the middle of 2017, things changed. According to Justin Saviks, The Answerman, “Anime Strike's demise wasn't solely because it disappointed the market it was trying to serve, though. The service was one part of a much bigger picture: the fact that Amazon's streaming service just isn't doing well, in general. The last quarter of 2017 was a tumultuous one for Amazon Studios. After a promising early start … the network spent an ungodly sum of money on shows that ultimately failed… Anime Strike and its sister service Heera (which specialized in Bollywood movies) were part of the vision of that old regime. When the new management took over, they no doubt saw how the two secondary services were performing and decided not to continue throwing money at them. We can only guess as to their logic, but they no doubt have bigger fish to fry. Rather than continuing to throw money at a small audience that's turned hostile towards them, I'm sure they think it a better idea to concentrate on making a new mainstream hit [Edited for clarity].”
Anime Strike is an interesting note in the history of anime streaming. Despite lasting for less than a year, it managed to become, probably, the most hated anime streaming service ever.

Helping a Friend out with Ammonia/Cloudy Water, But They Aren't Available to Test/Treat Constantly (Help)
Here's a photo of the pool this morning!
I have a friend with a rectangular in-ground pool, running on a chlorinator, VS Pump and sand filter system with an auto-cover measuring 22,000 gallons. I used to take care of their pool as part of a service team, but now I'm off doing other fun career things. That said, I can't be there to take care of the pool as often as I would when I did it for a job. They are also at a 9-5 so they can't be there constantly to maintain the pool. Chemicals are currently reading as follows:
FCL: <1 ppm TCL: 3 ppm pH: 7.2 Alk: 150 CYA: 50 Phos: 5200
I suggested that they keep their pump running constantly, follow their normal routine maintenance, and make sure they're scrubbing down their pool before they treat this issue with calcium hypochlorite at night at 4x the normal dose. They're on their second treatment attempt with using 8 pounds of the stuff each time they treat the pool and the water isn't clearing up very much if at all. Currently treating on day 1, waiting on day 2 with the cover closed, treat again on day 3, wait again on day 4.
Just looking for some advice concerning whether they should let it keep working on itself, purchase a vacuum for their skimmer and go the Pool Floc route, or if they should continue trying to treat this chemically in the evening (and maybe switch to Liquid Chlorine to save money).

What You Get:

Course #1

Black Friday Bootcamp

This is a short course I created for one of my e-commerce coaching groups. It outlines the high level strategy you need to use to MAXIMIZE sales for BFCM.
I go over everything from how to map out your promo calendar… what emails to send when… exactly when you should START and FINISH your promo(s)… and, most importantly…
… how to STAND OUT and grab attention in an overcrowded inbox, so you can break every sales record.
Once you watch this mini-course, you’re going to be pumping out high-converting BFCM campaigns in no time!
Course #2

Make It Rain Monthly

BFCM/Q4 Planning Call

This is a special “members-only” coaching call I recorded with a handful of my top students to help them prepare their clients’ brands for BFCM success.
I even critique (and edit) a few of my students’ BFCM emails during this call.
You can look over my shoulder and see how I think about constructing these email campaigns and sequences – super valuable!
Course #3

Make It Rain Monthly Issue #8

The Black Friday / Cyber MondayMEGA Issue Part 1

  • My “A-Z” roadmap for creating highly profitable Cyber Week email marketing campaigns.
  • The FIRST email you should send in the month of November, to increase the sales you make from every email you send for the next six weeks (I actually wrote this email for you. You can swipe it verbatim. Just swap in some small details about your business, hit send, and watch the sales start rolling in.)
  • How to map out a three-month promotional calendar in less than 60 minutes. (Plus, how to come up with the topics to send, on which days, to the right subscribers.)
  • What to do (instead of just giving a discount or giving a bonus) that’ll incite a buying frenzy, generate word of mouth buzz, create raving fans, AND could possibly lead to record-breaking sales.
  • A breakdown of a collection of BFCM emails, including some from a sequence that brought in six-figures in one week flat.
Course #4

Make It Rain Monthly Issue #9

The Black Friday / Cyber MondayMEGA Issue Part 2

  • The “Magic Box” Method I used to free up 25 hours of creative time on my calendar, so I could get more work done in less time, with less stress… and more time to myself.
  • The biggest mistake I made as I began growing my team… and how I fixed it so everyone could perform at a higher, more autonomous level.
  • How to finally get clear on what you want in life… and how to go get it.
  • Why trying to be a ‘cool boss’ might hurt your team more than help it.
  • One psychological insight that’ll make selling to ‘people with money’ 10x easier. This works especially well if you’re selling a high-end product/high-ticket service.
  • One software that can cut your weekly call volume down by 70% (or more).
  • The “AC” email promotion that’ll send your Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales through the roof.
  • How to scoop up TONS of sales from people who didn’t buy from your BF/CM campaign.
  • Why giving a discount might actually HURT your sales and turn off a large percentage of your customers.
  • When to use a discount vs other types of offers in your emails (they both work and can both be used strategically… but you’ve gotta do this right.)
  • How to instantly induce an “I’ve gotta spend money with this brand” feeling in your customers… even if they weren’t planning on buying anything five minutes before seeing your email.
  • A breakdown of a six-figure BF/CM email campaign (meaning: we actually ran this for one of my e-commerce clients and generated six-figures in sales with it).
  • A two-word subject line you can use on Black Friday to stick out like a sore thumb and get your subscribers’ attention… even when everyone else is screaming about their sales.
  • The one type of campaign you should run if you feel like offering discounts ‘cheapens’ your brand.
  • How to adapt this campaign for OTHER holidays throughout the year (like Mother’s Day & Father’s Day). I even riffed off a quick email hook you can keep in your back pocket until spring.
Course #5

Make It Rain Monthly Issue #20

The Black Friday / Cyber Monday2021 Gameplan

  • The SMS Sign Up Sequence that helped us grow an SMS list by 1,000+ subscribers while generating $10,000+ in sales.
  • How to make a TON of sales on Thanksgiving… without pissing off everyone on your list. (In fact, people will be giddy with anticipation if you do this promo right.)
  • A psychological trigger you can use in your copy that makes your customers go crazy for your products.
  • Why BFCM21 is going to look very different than years past… and the changes you should make to your strategy to stand out in the inbox (and make a ton of sales).
  • How the smartest marketers and brand owners are adapting to iOS14 and iOS15 (and the big shift you need to make to thrive).
  • Will SMS marketing replace or kill email? My surprising answer on page 3.
  • How to dramatically increase your EHR (effective hourly rate)… so you can increase profits while working less.
  • Insights from an SMS campaign I ran back in 2017 that worked incredibly well… and got people asking us to send them MORE texts (it’s a cool approach you can adapt for your own brand).
  • How to write headlines and subject lines that trigger INSTANT curiosity… that suck your prospects in and DEMAND attention. (Try this with your landing pages and advertorial pages and watch your click-thrus SKYROCKET)
  • The #1 copy mistake I see most copywriters and brand owners make with ALL of their emails, landing pages, ads, video scripts, and more.
  • Fix this one thing and you’ll be amazed at how much better your copy reads and converts.
  • How to get your customers to ‘think past the sale’ and get emotionally attached to your product… so they feel compelled to buy. (Sneaky… but powerful. And yes, totally ethical.)
  • 6 SMS messages that ‘primed the pump’ for our sales pitches… while making our customers feel a rush of positive thoughts and emotions.
  • The secret to writing tighter, pithier copy.
  • 3 copy principles for high converting SMS messages.
  • Two simple examples of an SMS list building campaign that you can whip up in a few minutes to start growing your list.
  • The Ultimate “Trojan Horse” campaign to get your customers primed and ready to buy from you for BFCM.
  • The Triple Threat BFCM campaign calendar you should try this Q4. (Could it triple your sales? Only one way to find out…)
  • What almost EVERYONE gets wrong about Gary Vee’s jab-jab-jab-right hook approach to marketing… and why it might be the smartest tactic to use come this Q4 (and beyond).
  • 5 more SMS list building examples that can get you a TON of new subscribers while making lots of “easy sales” in the process.
  • How to use email to ‘scoop up’ buckets of new buyers… even the people who DON’T buy from you.
  • Are you scared of emailing too often? Check out the tip on page 22 that’ll reduce your complaints and increase your sales.
  • The four core campaigns EVERY brand should be running on a monthly basis… even if you’re not in e-com. (I use this with my own list and it works incredibly well.)
Course #6

Holiday Sale Super Sequence

Want to scoop up even MORE sales during the holidays (without the hassle of figuring out your promo calendar)?
This Holiday Sale Super Sequence is based on campaigns I still run for my agency clients that generate anywhere between $30-$50K — without fail.
Comes with SIX email templates, a quick-start implementation video and super secret bonus.
So if you want to generate massive sales easily every time there’s a holiday… then this training is going to help you make that happen.

2023.06.09 15:53 Pinkjasmine17 Questions about Munich itinerary - is this a good balance of things to do?

Hi all,
I’m planning a trip to Munich in August and wanted to get your opinions on this itinerary/ask some questions that I haven’t managed to figure out through googling.

Although Munich is only one of the three destinations on my trip, sharing the entire itinerary for context. I want to know - do you think I have enough balance on this itinerary?Like too many palaces, too many lakes etc?

Plans is as follows:
Day 1 Saturday: Land in Munich at 7am, force myself out to get over jet lag. Do maybe the Residence palace, maybe do a free walking tour in the AM, nap in the afternoon? Maybe clock tower, anything else in the old town - open to suggestions . Maybe go to a beer garden in the evening.

Day 2 Sunday: weather permitting trip to Zungspitze (switch with Monday or Tuesday if need be) + Eibsee

Day 3 Monday: museums are closed today so I was thinking going to a Therme. I assume this would take half a day. The other half maybe roam around the Isar or some neighbourhoods

Day 4 Tuesday: Art Museum day! It’s a public holiday (Aug 15) so I guess the museums close at 6:30 but hopefully that’s still time enough to fit things in. Haven’t figured out yet which museums to visit - probably the Pinotek Modern at the very least

Day 5-7 Salzburg & surrounds (1 day for the city and 2 days for the country). Maybe Konigsee as one of the day trips/ice caves if my friend doesn't get too claustrophobic (already been to salt mines)

Day 8-10: Vienna - again museums - Albertina, Schonnbrunn, Belvedere, maybe Jewish history museum (haven’t mapped this out in detail yet)

Questions:
-Do you think I have a good balance of different types of things to do in my itinerary/would you recommend Residence if I am visiting Schonnbrunn (or vice versa)
-is there a direct train to GaPa any more? Google maps says yes but DB website says no. If not, would it be worth it to take Flixbus to Garmisch - if so I’d have to buy a different ticket up the mountain right?
-any thoughts on which therme to visit? Erding vs the one in Tegernsee or even a 3rd option
-any neighbourhoods you would recommend I roam around on Monday afternoon
-favourite museum in Munich? Might try to see if a BMW factory tour is still available
-any vegetarian food suggestions? From this sub I have gleaned that one must try pizza in Munich. I heard Tien was good so plan to try that in Vienna

2023.06.09 15:45 DisastrousCourage [question] jailbreak iOS 14.3 (Unc0ver) vs 16.5 (palera1n)

Right now I’m 14.3 with unc0ver. But was thinking to upgrade to 16.5.
From what I found regarding
palera1n - https://ios.cfw.guide/installing-palera1n/ - you can’t have a passcode - you have to erase your iPhone
Questions - is this still true with 16.5? Since the guide was update in 4/28/23 while 16.5 was released in 5/18/23? Can’t have a passcode - being semitethered - does this mean when you reboot you can’t jailbreak until you erase your phone each time after reboot? - any reason to jb 16.5 vs 14.3 JB? What’s everyone’s recommendation?

2023.06.09 15:44 Eponine123 I asked chatgpt for new class suggestions and results are rip-offs:

"Certainly! How about a class called the "Lorekeeper"?
The Lorekeeper in Diablo 4 would be a master of ancient knowledge and mystical arts, specializing in unraveling the secrets of the world and harnessing their power in battle. This class would provide a unique and intriguing gameplay experience. Here's an overview of the Lorekeeper class:
  1. Lore-based Abilities: The Lorekeeper would have a range of abilities inspired by ancient myths, legends, and arcane texts. They would be able to cast spells that manipulate elements, summon ethereal beings, and tap into forgotten rituals. Their powers would be focused on control and utility, with abilities such as enchanting weapons, creating protective barriers, and unraveling enemy defenses.
  2. Relic Mastery: Lorekeepers would wield relics, artifacts imbued with ancient power, as their primary weapons. These relics could include enchanted scrolls, ancient tomes, or mystical amulets. Each relic would grant unique bonuses and abilities, allowing players to customize their playstyle based on their preferred relics.
  3. Knowledge Tree: The Lorekeeper class would have a distinct skill tree called the "Knowledge Tree." It would feature branches representing different aspects of ancient wisdom, such as Elemental Lore, Divine Lore, Arcane Lore, and Forbidden Lore. Players could choose which branches to invest in, unlocking new abilities and passive bonuses as they progress.
  4. Ritualistic Summons: Lorekeepers would have the ability to summon ethereal allies to aid them in battle. These could include spectral guardians, arcane constructs, or mythical creatures. Players would have control over these summons, strategically positioning them on the battlefield and utilizing their unique abilities to complement their playstyle.
  5. Supportive Role: While the Lorekeeper would possess offensive capabilities, they would shine in a supportive role, providing buffs, debuffs, and crowd control effects. Their knowledge of ancient lore would enable them to bolster their allies, weaken foes, and manipulate the battlefield in their favor.
  6. Versatility: Lorekeepers would have the flexibility to adapt to various playstyles, allowing players to focus on offensive spellcasting, defensive tactics, or a balanced combination of both. This versatility would make them suitable for both solo play and group dynamics.
The Lorekeeper class would add a new layer of depth and strategy to Diablo 4, appealing to players who enjoy arcane-themed characters, intricate gameplay mechanics, and a strong emphasis on lore and exploration!"
I think this is a necro wearing wizards clothes lol.
I asked for holy shield bearer class:
"I present to you the "Crusader" class, a shield-bearing holy warrior in Diablo 4. The would embody unwavering faith, divine righteousness, and stalwart defense. Here are the key features of the Crusader class:
  1. Shield Mastery: Crusaders would specialize in the art of shield combat. They would wield shields as their primary weapon, utilizing them for devastating shield bashes, defensive maneuvers, and powerful area-of-effect attacks. Shields would be more than just defensive tools, becoming offensive weapons in the hands of Crusaders.
  2. Holy Magic: Crusaders would possess a repertoire of holy spells and blessings. They would have access to abilities that heal allies, smite enemies with holy wrath, and invoke divine energy to enhance their own combat prowess. These holy spells would provide versatile options for support, damage, and utility.
  3. Aegis System: The Crusader class would introduce a unique mechanic called the "Aegis System." Crusaders would build up Aegis charges during combat, which can be used to empower their shield-based attacks or unleash powerful holy abilities. The Aegis System would add an additional layer of tactical decision-making and resource management to the class.
  4. Indomitable Defense: Crusaders would excel in defensive capabilities, able to withstand heavy punishment and protect their allies. They would have access to defensive auras that grant additional armor, resistances, and crowd control reduction to the Crusader and nearby allies. Crusaders would be natural tanks, drawing enemy attention and shielding their comrades.
  5. Holy Arsenal: Crusaders would have access to a wide range of holy-themed weapons and armor. They could equip one-handed weapons and a shield, two-handed weapons for more offensive power, or even dual-wield shields for maximum defense. The class would feature unique armor sets and weapon enchantments with holy attributes, further enhancing the Crusader's abilities.
  6. Zealotry: Crusaders would possess an innate zealotry, gaining increased power as their faith grows. They would have passive abilities that are unlocked and strengthened through gameplay progression. These passives could enhance their damage, healing, defense, or provide utility bonuses, reflecting the fervor and dedication of the Crusader.
  7. Divine Retribution: The Crusader class would have access to powerful ultimate abilities that channel divine retribution upon their enemies. These ultimate abilities would unleash devastating holy energy, smiting foes and turning the tide of battle. Crusaders would be able to customize their ultimate abilities based on their preferred playstyle.
The Crusader class would provide a holy warrior fantasy, focusing on a mix of offensive and defensive capabilities. With their shields as both weapons and shields, they would excel at close-quarters combat while providing support and protection to their allies. The class would embody the essence of unwavering faith and divine justice in the war against darkness in Diablo 4."
"Holy arsenal" "double shields" ahahahah
There was another one, it basically was barbarian this one also kind of barb I think it has a few good ideas, but overall they are just mixes of already done ideas and some dnd in it. I think I love human creativity way more than ai tbh... hope it never takes away the creative people's jobs but one can only hope.

2023.06.09 15:42 alt123456789o Spears are the best weapon in the game...

.. when you fuse stuff to them that has a high fuse attack power.
  1. They obviously have greater range than most weapons, meaning it is easier to not get hit when using them (unless your opponent has a spear).
  2. They have low durability, but can be found easily in caves carried by Horriblins. The sturdy long stick also has good durability.
  3. They attack straight on, so can be fused with zonai attack devices more effectively. The bean emitter and canon auto lock on enemies when aiming. Other weapons swing, so the effect will follow the swing which isn't as useful.
  4. They can have high DPS, they attack fast and their charged attack is devastating. They do have a 0.75x damage multiplier, but I still think fused spears are worth it.
  5. Their charged attack can stun enemies and knock them away.
  6. The Zora spear has great stats for a base weapon.
  7. They can be thrown more effectively at enemies once they are almost broken.
  8. The weapon with the longest range is two spears fused together.
  9. They can also break rock easily when fused with a rock. Two handed weapons are more durable though, but will waste that durability hitting rocks to the side of you due to their swinging motion. Still more durable than a spear though, which is why I keep them on me for this purpose.

2023.06.09 15:40 woodburyman Bolt EUV Bose System Differences

Greetings!
I just picked up a 2022 Bolt EUV Premier Wednesday after trading in my 2013 Volt Premier. I wanted to buy new, however it's next to impossible to find a new 2023 Premier EUV, ordering being 3-6mo out and 4 dealers I was in contact with wasn't even sure they could get them given the end of production date looming.
I really wanted a EUV with Sun and Sound package. The sunroof I could take or leave, but the Sound upgrade was really what I was looking for. After test driving the 2022 Premier I now own, the sound wasn't the bad honestly. Decent base response from the 6 speaker setup. Some distortion at higher volumes, that's it. Nothing some speaker swaps might fix. It's a 2022 Premier EUV with no extra packages.
I'm wondering if anyone ever looked at retrofitting a Bose system into a Non-Sun and Sound package Bolt EV or Bolt EUV? Or looked into what the physical differences are? I was thinking of grabbing aftermarket JBL speakers and calling it a day, but the idea hit me to see if it could be retrofitted with any ease. Obviously if there are major differences aftermarket speakers and possible sub would be the way to go, but wouldn't hurt to check.
The Base system is 6 speaker, and Bose is 7. I'm assuming they're the same locations? With just the addition of the trunk subwoofer? And does anyone know if the speaker impedance are the same? And as far as amplifiers, does anyone know how either the base or Bose are connected? I assume the sub at the least would require a amplifier but sometimes all speakers are wired through them in premium sound setups vs directly out of the infotainment system.
TIA!

2023.06.09 15:40 reactnativeusa What is the process for hiring a React Native development company in the USA?

The process for hiring a React Native development company in the USA typically involves the following steps:
  1. Define your project requirements: Before starting the hiring process, clearly outline your project requirements, including the scope, features, and timeline. This will help you evaluate potential companies more effectively.
  2. Research and shortlist companies: Conduct thorough research to identify React Native development companies in the USA that have a strong track record, positive client reviews, and relevant experience. Use online directories, industry forums, and recommendations to create a shortlist of potential candidates.
  3. Assess portfolios and case studies: Review the portfolios and case studies of the shortlisted companies to gauge their expertise in developing React Native applications. Look for projects similar to yours and assess the quality, functionality, and user experience of their previous work.
  4. Check client references: Reach out to the companies' previous clients to get insights into their experience working with the React Native development company. Ask about their satisfaction with the delivered solutions, communication, project management, and adherence to deadlines.
  5. Evaluate technical expertise: Assess the technical expertise of the companies by reviewing their team's skills and experience. Look for developers who are proficient in React Native, JavaScript, and other relevant technologies. Consider their experience with integrating APIs, handling third-party libraries, and optimizing app performance.
  6. Communication and project management: Effective communication is crucial for successful collaboration. Evaluate the companies' communication channels, project management methodologies, and responsiveness. Ensure that they can provide regular updates, address your concerns, and align with your preferred communication style.
  7. Cost and budget: Discuss the project requirements with the shortlisted companies and request detailed cost estimates. Consider factors like development hours, complexity, maintenance costs, and any additional charges. Choose a company that offers a reasonable pricing structure without compromising on quality.
  8. Non-disclosure agreements (NDA): If you have sensitive data or proprietary information, consider signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with the selected company to protect your intellectual property.
  9. Contract and legal considerations: Carefully review the contract terms, including ownership of the source code, project milestones, payment schedule, and termination clauses. Seek legal advice if necessary to ensure a fair and transparent agreement.
  10. Start with a small project: To assess the chosen company's capabilities and compatibility, consider starting with a small pilot project before committing to a larger engagement. This will allow you to evaluate their work quality, communication, and ability to meet deadlines.
By following these steps, you can streamline the process of hiring a React Native development company in the USA and increase the chances of finding a reliable and competent partner for your project.

2023.06.09 15:40 PsychologicalKick177 Trouble getting the same standard errors (but not coefficients) obtained in Stata when reproducing survival analysis results in R

Trouble getting the same standard errors (but not coefficients) obtained in Stata when reproducing survival analysis results in R
I am reproducing in R some survival analysis results published in a journal. The original results were produced in Stata. See the original results in the attached photo.
https://preview.redd.it/di6bm346wz4b1.png?width=1338&format=png&auto=webp&s=0c40b2ee1b668ce3a5f441c640c6254ca8a0dbe9
Here is the code to produce these results in R.
# load packages library(dplyr) library(foreign) library(msm) library(stargazer) # load Svolik's original data data = read_stata("leaders, institutions, covariates, updated tvc.dta") # set a t0 for each row data = mutate(data,t0 = lag(t,default=0), .by=leadid) # coup survival object original survobj_coup = Surv(data[["t0"]], data[["_t"]], data$c_coup) # coup model original coups_original <- coxph(survobj_coup~legislature + lgdp_1+ growth_1 +exportersoffuelsmainlyoil_EL2008+ ethfrac_FIXED+ communist+ mil+ cw+ age, data=data, ties="breslow") # revolt survival object original survobj_revolt = Surv(data[["t0"]], data[["_t"]], data$c_revolt) # revolt model original revolt_original <- coxph(survobj_revolt~legislature + lgdp_1+ growth_1 +exportersoffuelsmainlyoil_EL2008+ ethfrac_FIXED+ mil+ cw+ age, data=data, ties="breslow") # natural survival object original survobj_natural = Surv(data[["t0"]], data[["_t"]], data$c_natural) # natural model original natural_original <- coxph(survobj_natural~legislature + lgdp_1+ growth_1 +exportersoffuelsmainlyoil_EL2008+ ethfrac_FIXED+ communist+ mil+ cw+ age, data=data, ties="breslow") # Define a function to exponentiate coefficients exp_coef <- function(x) {exp(x) } # Create the table using stargazer stargazer(natural_original, coups_original, revolt_original, apply.coef = exp_coef, p.auto = FALSE)
While I am able to produce the exact same coefficients (save for slight differences in rounding) with the exact same levels of significance, the standard errors do not match. For example, in Model 1 in the figure (first column in Natural Causes), I obtain a standard error of 0.414 rather than 0.198 for the coefficient on Legislature (0.456). I read that the differences may be due to how the standard errors are transformed, but I've been unable to find concrete advice about how to implement it (save for this article on Stack Overflow, which isn't very helpful). Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you! Here is a link to the data if it's helpful.
