About a day ago, my grandfather started complaining about stomach pain. Here’s his info and medical history:
91 year old Italian male. Date of birth, 4/18/1932. 5’5”, 190 lbs.
History: CHF, with stent, pacemaker, and defibrillator. Cholesterol issues. Couple years of A1C issues, recently became diabetic. Kidney issues. He has been on many medications for his heart, cholesterol, kidneys, water retention, A1C, and recently Metphormin for diabetes.
Never a heavy drinker but did regularly smoke from around pubescent age (1940’s), up until early 40’s after emigrating to the US (1970’s).
I called the ambulance for stomach pain, since he had severe food poisoning many years before. His stomach was bloated, his blood sugar and BP were high, so they took him to the ER. CAT scans revealed a mass at his pancreas, doctors said they are not 100% sure as of yet, but they are mostly certain it is pancreatic cancer, especially due to the area of pain, bloating, and recent diabetes. They want to perform an endoscopy.
No one else in my family has had it. I asked my mother and my aunts/uncles (whose father it is) if anyone else in that part of the family had it. No one did, only issues present in that part of my family were heart disease, CHF, and lung cancer (all my grandfather’s siblings smoked).
My grandfather’s mother died of CHF and had very similar problems to him. His father died in world war 2 when my grandfather was 10, but my grandfather says he was healthy.
I am so scared for my grandpa. 91 years and so much adversity overcome, this is a shock. Of course, I’m also scared for me and my family. I know familial pancreatic cancer makes up a small percentage of cases, especially when presenting in the elderly. He also has an extensive and relatively unhealthy medical history and unhealthy practices that the doctors say may have contributed to this.
My medical history and background:
21 year old male, childhood asthma. No current medications. No allergies (besides pollen). I try to be as active as possible and eat right. I lift weights, bike, and have lost 30 pounds since 2020. 5’8”, 180 lbs.
I’m sorry for a long post, I am just so anxious about everything.

I, F33, want to be adopted by step-father. It is purely symbolic, he has been in my life since I was 7 years old. I've seen things on TV with adoptions of foster kids over the age of 18. But I wasn't sure if it's actually a thing that can be done. My dad (step father) and mom are on board. I've never met my bio-dad, and from what I can tell he is no longer a US citizen.
Is this something we can do? If so, where would I start?

So I guess I'll start this community with my own story, and the ridiculous reason I made this in the first place. CONTEXT: My Nan and Granddad are somewhat minted. Extremely stingy throughout their life, and inherited a beautiful not-quite estate when my Great Granddad passed, I'm not sure of the total, but a rough estimate from what I gather is around the 1.7m mark. Peak baby boomers and hardcore Christians they come with their fair share of racism, homophobia and islamophobia, they had three children, Uncle A, Uncle B, and finally my dad. Uncle A is clearly the favorite, anytime we are with Nan and Granddad they will regale stories of Uncle A, how brilliant they are, and the last time Uncle A came to visit (not often, he basically ignored them). Uncle B, is treated relatively well, but sort of ignored, whilst my dad is treated like a shit stain on their shoe. He told me stories of when Uncle A and B were young they'd bully him, force feed him him insects and dirt, and then if he even mentioned it to his mum she'd call him a liar, say Uncle A would never do such a thing and then beat him for lying, usually until the beating utensil of choice would break. FYI Uncle A, is an asshole through and through. In the modern era, he is verbally racist and homophobic to a point he'd argue with random gay couples in public and even rally to get any LGBTQ member kicked out of their church. STORY: Case 1. Cerca 2016. I'm turning 18 soon, we have a family gathering, and everybody is here. We've been told every birthday and Christmas by our Grandparents. "the reason we haven't got you any presents is because we are putting money into a savings account for when you are older, so when you are 18, you can have money for University, or for a deposit for a house" - Sounds great right? yeah well, this family gathering Uncle A suggests we take a look at the accounts, so the kids can get excited for their 18th birthday. Bad idea. I got my record and found that 17 years of 2 deposits each year, in a high interest savings account equates to a measly 450 pounds. - this pissed off my Sister, who was 20 at the time and only withdrew 300 on her birthday. But my two cousins, the offspring of Uncle A, they didn't want to share what they had, because despite being 2 and 4 years younger, they had over 40,000 pounds. Which yeah, can be used on a house deposit, or university. Insane. My Sister just stood up and walked out at that point. Case 2. Cerca 2023 Me and my Sister are both at the age where we want to get onto the property ladder, but it's somewhat impossible for our generation without help. our parents aren't wealthy so who can we ask for help? our grandparents. When I asked for a little assistance, what ever they would be happy to LEND, not take, LEND. They strait up said, and I quote "don't even think about it". When my sister approached them, they told her they didn't have anything to give her because they just brought a new garden shed, and the hospital bills are expensive (This is the UK, there are no hospital bills. unless you go private, she didn't, she's with the NHS). A few months have passed and now I've just found out that my Nan has outright brought a property worth *inhales* 550k for my cousin... doesn't need to pay any of that back, she just owns it now. That's it, all because she is the spawn of Uncle A, the racist, homophobic asshole. And just FYI there's no other reason for it, in their own logic I'd be the favorite. I'm cis, the only male grandchild, and to their knowledge still christian. This is true when it comes to my sister, despite her spending the most amount of time with them, she is completely ignored, whilst I am somewhat praised despite spending minimum time with them and telling them all to go fuck themselves last Christmas.
Hell, I don't understand it, but this probably isn't even close to the most extreme example of Parental Favoritism.

I've been at the gym for 21 months, and I've gone through a whole cycle of physical changes for the past 2 years. I started with a cut from 173 lbs to 152 lbs, and I lost every bit of muscle because I neglected resistance training. I then bulked up to 193 lbs over 18 months until I realized that I gained a lot of body fat in addition to muscle. I've since cut to 175 over the last 3 months. I decided to post my progress and ask for an appraisal. Someone commented that I'm not holding much muscle mass and I've got a while to go to hit my goal of 12% body fat.
I'm trying so hard. I'm at the gym 4 days per week for at least an hour, and I'm very on top of my intake. I'm already starting to feel myself getting weaker during my lifts. My right bicep has shrunk half an inch, according to my trainer who measured it. I thought I had about 5-6 pounds to go to reach my goal. Not 15-20. I can't blame the lighting and angles in the pictures every time. Perhaps I've been wrong. This SubReddit has left me with nothing but insecurity since I've started my cut. The comments were all positive while I was bulking. Now that I'm trying to cut down, I could use a ton of work. This really sucks.

Im on 1.3k Elo right now on FaceIT and LEM on MM (I dont play much because I dont feel comfortable playing without a team so I dont have any problems playing on higher Elo). I have some Team experience in unknown non Competitive teams, sadly I havent found the right one yet, but I trained in several teams. My playstyle is rather aggressive and Id say my best role is Lurking / entrying. I can play everything but I wouldnt consider myself as an AWPer as Im way better with rifles. My journey with Mounjaro has been up and down. Since January, I've gone from 363 to 323 or so. While I'm pleased I've had progress, some issues have caused me to not fully "enjoy" or experience the benefits of it, if you will.
1.) Availability: mounjaro hasn't been available or I've had to wait weeks to get a new dose. I'm on a wait list right now at a pharmacy because it is pretty hard to find. Because of that, it leads to
2.) A lack of consistency. If I'm out of shots, that just makes it a bit more challenging.
3.) Insurance companies. These blood sucking nutsacks are terrible. The changes to the protocols for approval were awful. I was once declined for approval because the insurance said I needed a history of showing I used the medicine before. I told them they should have those records because they approved it before. Insurance said that didn't matter and I needed to prove something else. I provided proof and then they moved the needle. My online doctor finally called them and got it approved.
4.) Stress. I work full time, was studying for a certification as well that was a bit of a challenge and just finished a graduate degree, and I have kids under the age of 3. All of that made everything so much harder.
5.) Not being able to consistently workout. This week I've been finally about to do 3 days of strength training. Not being able to physically move like I should has sucked.
Most of these issues are my fault but hopefully things will change now that I have more time and less work, school stress.
The 5.0mg shot was ineffective for me. 7.5 was slightly better. 10 seems to work now so hopefully that'll be good for me.

We can receive forgiveness and mercy for our sins through God the son, Jesus Christ our lord and saviour.
Forgiveness is available to everyone, even those who have made the same mistakes many times. However repentance is needed from you. Jesus will show you the right way but you still have a choice to follow or not.
How to resist the devil:
The armor of God represents the defense we must take in our spiritual lives. The Bible tells us that we are fighting a war against Satan, who seeks to destroy us. Therefore, we must take action and put on God's armor. As Christians, it is important for us to understand the severity of this battle.
Armor of God

1. the belt of truth - honesty
2. the breastplate of righteousness - do the right thing
3. the shoes of the gospel of peace - remain calm and collected
4. the shield of faith - trust God
5. the helmet of salvation - accept Jesus Christ is my lord and savior.

You have free will to choose to be good or evil. God allows you to choose even if he knows what you will choose. If he doesn't allow evil people to exist he cannot give free will to man or he cannot let man be created. If man has no free will then we can no longer call ourselves human being as we would be something else. If we are not created by God he cannot save his lost sheep born into a world of good and evil where the ground is cured and weeds grow amongst the wheat.
Hell was created for the fallen angels but also because evil people exist. Evil people cannot escape justice so God created a place of torment for them. This place is for people who disobey God and refuse to serve him.

My husband started a new job 7 months ago. Like most jobs they tell you sweet things to get you in the door. It's been a great job but they pissed me off this past week. He had to go 4 hours away for company training. They are supposed to reimburse the gas it took to get there and back. It's how they do things. This was Wednesday. Gas prices as y'all know aren't cheap. It was over 140 for the whole trip, which yes isn't bad. But the pay was supposed to do a certain way and he got paid this morning. It was lower then if he went to work. Work training is supposed to be time and a half. It wasnt. No gas money back or anything. 3 big bills were due today, obvs they got paid. Now I'm stressing and fuming bc that "little amount" of money is actually big for us and was going towards buying food for the next week. We already live pay check to paycheck. Most weeks we do just fine but this week I'm over stressed and pissed bc we don't have that extra money. So now I'm going to be making sure our kids have food for the next week (along with hubby for lunches and dinners) on a very small budget. Another week of myself eating very little and sticking with my tea so everyone else can have.
Why do work places have to be this way? When hubs asked about the reimbursement he wasn't given much of an answer besides "I have to approve this by (name)" wtf we don't life on hopes and fucking dreams. I hate life so much. Most days I think about leaving. My kids and husband keep my feet topside. It's so hard to keep going when you're knocked down everyday

There's a LOT of world building involved with this, just to warn. I've been roleplaying for 7+ years, I love fantasy heavy plots and I LOVE world building.
I don't have plot limits to roleplay besides major character de*th, but if you do express them to me clearly to me and when roleplaying, if you find yourself uncomfortable tell me to stop what I'm doing wrong please. I usually write around advanced literate but I can go even longer if I get super into it, otherwise I really do try to match my partners length. Im okay with anything from the shorter end of semi-lit to longer end of adv-lit. The plot is a long lost lover plot, Involving a powerful witch who is very important to the Kingdom of Prithvi, my OC. As an 18 year old, she would travel to a far away village named SurakDeva to treat a new, unknown illness with her father as part of her training. Upon arriving, she would meet a boy. She ended up staying for two years, completely falling in love with this boy and spending most moments when she wasn't taking care of people with him. Her father found it cute but, they had to leave eventually. Once the disease died out, they had a very tearful goodbye, and she left back to the kingdom, never to see each other again.
10 years later, the very same boy, now a man she had fallen so deeply in love appeared in Prithvi in need of healing.

Things can be changed when we discuss more together, but thats the premise of what I'd like to do. NOTE: This is a VOUCHER PROGRAM. Because they expect high demand and have limited funds available, before you go shopping you'll need to apply and obtain a voucher. Obtaining the voucher will be tricky. In fact, it will be a bit like playing the lottery except your lotto ticket will be free. If you win, you'll then have to use the voucher at an eligible retailer. As stated the program is supposed to roll out in late summer.
Here's how the state will be offering vouchers:

Interested individuals will need to apply for the program prior to purchasing an e-bike. To ensure all eligible Coloradans have an opportunity to apply for an e-bike rebate, Colorado Energy Office will open applications for a period of one week each month, then randomly select individuals to receive the rebate after each application round closes. Selected applicants will receive a rebate voucher that they can redeem at a participating retailer for a discount at the time of e-bike purchase.

Low-income applicants could receive rebates totaling $1,750 while moderate-income applicants could receive up to a total of $1,150. Those amounts include additional rebates for an E-Bike along with additional supplements for equipment, a cargo bike, and an adaptive bike. The base amount -- rebate just for the E-Bike only -- is $1100 for low income and $500 for moderate income.
The state defines low income as below 80% of Area Medium Income, and moderate income is defined as between 80 and 100% of Area Medium Income.
For example a single person whose residence is Larimer County and whose income is below $60,160 would be considered low income. A single person with income between $60,160 and $75,200 would be considered moderate income.

Hey all, I saw another post about a partner training BJJ obsessively. I’m kind of having the opposite problem. I’m a blue belt and have been married for two years. We have an excellent relationship and I always make time for her. That being said we both work a ton, and our schedules often don’t line up. I leave early in the morning and she often works late. Because of this I try to line up my training with the nights when she works late so that I’m not using time we could be spending together training. I’m averaging like 2-3 (3 nights on a good week) nights a week of training 90 minute sessions. Although I try not to spend time we could be spending together training, sometimes she gets home right when I should be leaving for class. Weekends are all with her. So on a night when I train, I leave six am for work and come home at 9pm.
Some necessary context: my wife is from Colombia and has only been in the country for five years. She doesn’t really have friends or family here outside of me. I love spending time with her. We have many common interests and make time for each other.
I would love to train more, but I know that our already unfortunate schedule would put my relationship on the backburner and that’s simply not an option. I love BJJ but she’s my number one. I really feel that three nights a week is not a lot to ask, especially when I try to make it work with her schedule. She often gets upset when I go to the gym and says that I don’t make time for her and all I care about is BJJ. I hate that we don’t see each other all day but I gotta train.
I’ll often say I’m going to train but stay home and surprise her with dinner. I cook for her, take her out on dates, stay in with her but sometimes she gets so upset when I go to that third class. I feel like I am already compromising a lot and holding firm about the little training I do. I’m only 27 and want to take advantage of my youth and the fact that we don’t have kids yet. Any advice?

So… two weeks ago I adopted a gcc. He’s 3 months old, his name is Romi. I’ve spent months and months considering getting a bird. I work somewhere between 5-8 hrs a day and sometimes go to the gym but other than that I’m home and I do have other animals but we have 1/2 of the house blocked off so it would be a safe space for just me and the bird. I thought it would be great because it would force me to get out of bed in the morning, stay on a schedule, give me a lifelong friend since I get lonely lol, and I was fully prepared for the bad parts too. I guess I didn’t consider the full impact that he would have on my life. He’s a literal angel and only bites in a curious way, he’s pretty damn quiet, and overall very easy to love and train. I already love him, and I hope he feels the same way about me. My problem comes in when I think about my future, like my whole life now has to revolve around this bird. I can’t be spontaneous anymore, I have to make plans if I want to stay out at night, I can’t have loud noises after 9pm, I have to one day buy a house that can accommodate him, I have to be with someone who likes birds, I have to have time every single day to spend time with him. I guess that’s the part I didn’t really consider. That my life right now at 18 can change, and if it does, I have to chose the birds needs over mine. It’s kind of a lot. I just feel like all my energy is being given to him now. I spend around 4 hrs a day with him out of the cage playing, training, and cuddling. But is that enough? I feel awful when I have to leave him to go to work even tho he has a big enough cage and lots of food, treats, and toys. I just feel extremely stressed out and I hate myself for feeling that way. My mental health has been declining fast since I’ve gotten him. So my question is, it’s only been 2 weeks, should I look into rehoming? Or should I stick it out? I love him and it would break my heart to see him go and I feel like crap even suggesting it. Has anyone else felt this way? Like maybe it’s just too much? What did you do? Maybe it just takes time to adjust but I worry that if I still feel this way in a few months, it’ll be too late and give him more issues. What would be the best option for us both? (And please don’t hate on me I already feel so bad about myself for this)
