I am speechless. (Proceeds to make a speech)
They first announced that they would be removing clutter from the car websites, a lot of people are angry, but to me personally i thought it would be fine.
I've had many times where I want to browse the websites for a new car, take one look at the near endless stream of cars that I either don't like, already own or aren't even worth my time/money and then get off of the page. Besides, most of those cars aren't even thought about by most people nowadays anyway.
Rockstar go on to add that these vehicles that will be removed will be available randomly from dealerships and the like. I think to myself, "yeah thats a good idea, its a good compromise".
Then i see the latest newswire. The vinewood carclub. A GTA+ member exclusive location where -
"You’ll have access to a curated stock of distinct vehicles to test drive, order to your location and use while in Freemode, and purchase at an exclusive discount of 20% or more. You can also inspect the complimentary GTA+ vehicle inside The Vinewood Car Club and claim it directly from that location."
It goes on to say -
"As a GTA+ Member, you’ll be at liberty to utilize The Vinewood Car Club’s rotating selection of vehicles at your leisure and convenience in Freemode, either by dropping into the Car Club and driving one out or by using the Interaction Menu to order your chosen ride directly to your current location."
I really hope that I'm reading too much into this. If the only way for you to get these cars once they're removed from the websites is at a dealership, the stock of which rotates weekly, then having this paid access to the vinewood car club would give you a much higher chance at getting these cars.
As a hypothetical: lets say a new player logs in. They finally get enough money to buy a new car and the car they want is the hotknife (or something of that calibre) well, it's not in simeons shop, but it's going to be locked behind a paywall... The hotknife, a car that has been in the game forever, locked behind a paywall.
The hotknife was just an example. But apply that scenario to whatever vehicle they choose to remove (notice how we don't have a list of these vehicles) and you'll get the same narrative. You will have a much higher chance of getting the vehicle you want if you pay for a subscription to a 10 year old full game.
I really REALLY hope that I'm just reading too much into this.

This happened in ranked. After the video ends, I’m able to move but with all the problems you saw in the video. I got to the buy station and froze in place. The only thing I could do was ping. After the glitching was over, my teammates side of things went back to normal. Unfortunately, I was still frozen and only could ping with my left bumper. Oh, I can access my Xbox home page and pull up the start menu in Warzone but I couldn’t interact in-game. My teammate had to drive me into water by backing me up and then I drowned. Go to the gulag and everything was fine. I can move and use all the buttons on my controller. Wtf happened? Has this happened to anyone else? Wtf lol

Well, things have officially gotten batshit.
When I called Mr. A and told him about the Vagrant’s actions, I could almost hear him go pale. Obviously, he had hoped this would never happen. He told me to say a certain phrase aloud: “Closed for Maintenance.” Just like that, the entire shop shifted. The glass door was covered with an enormous slab of some bizarre material that looked almost like obsidian, and come to think of it, looked an awful lot like a solid form of whatever the Vagrant’s skin was covered with. The same thing happened to the windows, and the lights in the shop turned on automatically. Finally, the warehouse door was sealed by one of the slabs.
There was no doubt in my mind that Mr. A had hoped and prayed this would never happen, but he always expected that it would. Despite his obvious fear, he managed to keep enough composure to tell me that these slabs were created from material taken from one of the Vagrant’s earlier intrusions. Using it, he had been able to create a full system that would drive the creature out. Then he told me with some hesitation that it was time for me to meet “Them.” Now, this was the first time he had decided to give them an actual name. According to him, they were called “the Proprietor.” Despite their innocent-sounding name, I had the sense that I had to be on my guard when it came to dealing with them, something Mr. A confirmed. “You’ve dealt with eldritch things before, lad, but trust me when I tell ya, this bloke’s on a different level. I can’t stress these instructions enough, lad: don’t ask them anythin’. Just listen, then wait until they’ve finished speaking. They’ll know why you’re there, and they’ll give ya answers, but they won’t be comfortin’.”
Well, I got what Mr. A was talking about after he had given me the instructions on opening a door to the Proprietor’s world. I’m not allowed to disclose how I made it appear, but a door that the shop previously didn't have appeared behind me. On it was a sign that read, “Proprietor’s Office. Staff Only. Violators Will Be Terminated.” A faint droning noise emanated from the other side. Cerberus gave a small whine, and I just pet his head and smiled reassuringly, though I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t feeling nervous as well. I slowly placed my hand on the doorknob, then turned and opened it.
How do I best describe what I experienced there? I think the best word I can use is, “contradiction.” Imagine an infinitely large room with no color, yet somehow brighter than the Sun. The droning noise I heard from the other side of the door continued, but it was joined by a deafening screech.
Then the noise changed to words. I could hear them suddenly speaking in my head. It pierced my mind, speaking in nonsensical phrases that I could somehow comprehend. They had no voice and every voice. Like I said, “contradiction.” Bear in mind, the speech of this being is similar in structure to the Pr’mAtrian. Same as them, the Proprietor seems to be unable to translate their words into fully comprehensible human language so this is the best I can do. The following is the best translation I can provide.
You/Manager entered/were invited here to understand/know how to kill/evict Vagrant/Vandal and protect Investment/Property/Shop. We/the Proprietor know/remember It/Vagrant. It/Vagrant is/isn’t. Vagrant/Vandal was/is created from nothing/Void. It/Vagrant is/isn’t happy/angry/hates Us/You/Everyone for Existing/Being/Living. Vagrant/Vandal wants to Deface/Break/Kill You/Us/Everything for Having Form/Life. Use/Fire Gun/Tool. Not Easy/Simple. Gun/Tool useful against Living/Undead/Existent People/Folks. Vagrant/Vandal does/doesn’t exist/live. Kill/Break Living/Physical Prison/Form/Jar and put Nothing-Vagrant in Prison/Form/Jar. Bring/Deliver Jar to Us/the Proprietor. That is all/Thank you/Back to work.
This is all approximate; I have a clearer picture of what I need to do in my head. So basically, I need to kill the physical form of this thing, then seal it in something that they gave me. It looks like a puzzle box (if Hellraiser comes to mind, I don’t blame you; I thought the same.) Why they didn’t do this for previous owners is beyond me. I reported back to Mr. A, and he was as surprised as I was. Still, he told me to keep the gun and box close at hand. Strange as the Proprietor was, I found myself trusting it. I had the impression that if it saw me as a tool or puppet, it could have easily taken over my mind, used me to kill the Vagrant rather than instructing me how to.
I have a feeling that things are really coming to a head soon, though. Just two hours ago, I got a call. Before I could answer, an enraged voice snarled, “You spoke to them, didn't you, you little shit?! I couldn't sense you for hours! I was starting to think you’d gotten so scared you decided to finish the job yourself! What did they tell you?!”
I stayed quiet, instinctively reaching for the gun. ”What. Did. They. Tell. You?!” it demanded again through clenched teeth, all arrogance and mockery gone. Still I said nothing. It shrieked, “Damn it, tell me or I’m going to carve you into tiny pieces and make your dog fucking eat them!” “You sound scared,” I replied coldly and with a hint of mockery of my own. There was silence on the other end. Then my right ear erupted in pain as the Vagrant screeched furiously. I dropped the phone and fell, clutching my ear which was ringing with tinnitus. Cerberus rushed to my side and began nudging me. Once the pain began to subside the sound of high, deranged laughter sounded from the phone’s speakers. Then I heard a sound that chilled my blood more than this sadistic creature’s laughter, something that made all three of Cerberus's heads begin barking and growling. It was sealed up, but I could hear it all the same.
It began knocking from inside the warehouse where I first saw it, all while the phone kept broadcasting its laughter.

After Emma's wedding and a few outliers of insanity there would be little that would shake the galaxy to its core for nearly a decade.
News reports would stream in about the war. The Alliance was winning, but all too easily. Alliance and the individual homeworld militaries were all convinced that the Scareek were laying a trap.
They were right, but it wouldn't show itself for some time and the loss of life would be catastrophic. The blow to humanity would drive them to a fevered madness. We would all get to see the beast that lurked under the skin. It was the same beast that lurks under all our skins, the one that prevents the Symphony from being heard.
But that is for another volume of tales and memories. These memoirs were made by gathering the bits and pieces of many points of view, as well as putting in my own. I'm not certain half will be allowed to be published, but these events occurred as did so many more. These were just the brightest times, before the Scareek showed their mettle and matched human ferocity. Before they took from every life in the galaxy. Before the Alliance stood up and drove them back to primordial waters where they now live, simple non-sapient lives.
They were the times that defined my life and though I am glad we mostly know peace, I fear what still waits out in the depths of space. The galaxy and hyperspace are still not completely explored and we have made a lot of noise.

Shoal looked at the last line. He shook his head, he was getting dramatic in his old age. He hopped off his writing stool and walked to his window. Cith lay before him, he was now the oldest leader of Ancin at almost four hundred years old, not that that meant anything, clans were now just families in all regards, just more formal than normal. He watched the children of his siblings as they watched their grandchildren.
He stretched and wandered back to his table and folded up the manuscript. So many pages, all written by hand. They had to be anything less would be an insult to the lives of his friends, to the lives of those the Scareek had taken and to his own innocence.
He laughed, he couldn't believe he thought he was worldly at a mere Seventy-five! How utterly foolish. Another laugh took him though as he saw the picture frame that Emma had given him the day after her wedding. The young woman Anna was in it with her father, he was certain their chapters would get eaten up by Alliance Intelligence or the publisher would think he was insane and refuse to print them. Either way he knew their existence was now penned down somewhere.
He then took the manuscript down several floors and to a large room that was ostensibly a large fabrication printer and scanner. Three hundred years on and no one had found better tech, they just made it work better and cheaper. He smirked and shook his head.
"Hello Dasha!" The happy voice of Driffi shouted as she picked up her father's cousin.
Shoal stared at the woman. Somehow losing nearly half the clan never destroyed her positive attitude. He loved that about her, but it was also an obstacle at the moment.
"Driffi, I need to send scans of this manuscript to some friends." Shoal sighed.
"Mr. Van and Hadley?" Driffi asked as she sat her clan leader down and immediately got to work setting up the central scanning pad.
"Add Rex and Ezekiel Dirge to that list." Shoal advised.
Driffi nodded. "I wonder if Mr. Dirge will join us for Cith-has this year."
"Unlikely, he can't stomach Civeet cuisine." Shoal laughed as he put the book on the scanner pad.
"Wow that's dense Dasha, you know we have an older model, could take a day to scan and send." Driffi sniffed the air.
Shoal nodded, then remembered something. "Oh! Send it to the Captain as well. It will want to read it all."
"Of course Dasha." Driffi smiled.
Shoal nodded and smiled, "I'm off to the garden."
"Give my love to my parents!" Driffi called out.
Shoal nodded and soon found himself in the clan garden, surrounded by statues of his ancestors, siblings and even his parents. He filled small dishes with water and left them at the bases of their statues.
He stayed for hours, meditating and focusing on the universe. The stars and their wondrous symphony were out of his reach, he had accepted that, but he could always try to recall that wondrous symphony.
He slowly became acutely aware of another presence. It was quiet and respectful, so he didn't respond until they made it clear they were here for a reason. An artificial clearing of the throat told him it was his old Captain.
"Hello, sir." Shoal smiled.
The Captain did not speak, but walked over to a statue of a non-civeet, the first one ever made in generations. Sekaz had made it in honor of the individual.
"They never have eyes." The Captain voiced his usual complaint. "Humans should always have their eyes depicted."
"I think Emma would be fine with it." Shoal said, not getting up from his sitting position.
"I was in the system. The Network got the manuscript first. We approve." The Captain said. "How will you continue?"
"I was hoping you would." Shoal grinned. "After all, you couldn't stay away from your precious Galactic Social Dynamic and you have the best understanding of what occurred during the retaliation." Shoal explained.
The Captain paused and looked at the kesta honoring Emma Brunte. The Captain nodded, she truly would have been happy to know she was remembered in a friend's family.
"For the truth of the matter?" The Captain asked, probing the civeets motives.
"To remember the fallen and live on for the living." Shoal smiled.
"The children out there are calling you 'Shifu'." The Captain said with a slightly robotic chuckle. "Why did you let them see such an ancient movie?"
Shoal snapped out of his meditation. "Because it is awesome!" He jumped to his feet.
The Captain's slightly robotic laugh echoed. "I will do this, old friend. We will till the Galaxy of all those that sacrificed and what was truly lost."
Shoal smiled. "Thank you. Did, uh, did we ever find out where Hadley went during their lost years?"
The Captain shook its head. "We all have our suspicions, but they remain unwilling or unable to speak of it."
Shoal nodded. Hadley had vanished at some point during the Scareek retaliation. It was devastating to Emma and their friends and then one day they were back and working as hard as ever, though their closest friend swore the Intelligence had become more paranoid.
"Eventually the truth comes into the open." Shoal nodded.
The Captain extended its hand and Shoal shook it. The two old friends took a few more minutes to honor the ancestors and allies of Clan Ancin.

So a little over half way with the story I had the realization of how disorganized I was in writing it. All because I didn't expect it to take off and never made a physical outline. So I asked, why would this be like that in the world it takes place in.
Answer the memoirs of everyone's favorite civeet, mixed with other accounts he had gathered.
And volume 2 will mostly come from The Captain's point of view. Exploring the changes in its network and itself as an individual as well as its continuing awe and love of humanity.
So Volume 1 of Galactic Social Dynamic comes to a close, mostly. We still have some Zoo-nanigans to get through.

Give me a tofu burger soaked in a house marinade, or a mushroom burger sprinkled with a house seasoning, or a fried eggplant burger fried with a house plant milk wash. For the love of taste buds do not limit me to your half-assed house made bean burger that you cut with sawdust. I know you've never tried it so I'll be kind and tell you it's not good.

I condensed and validated instructions for setting up an OSDCloud USB Key or ISO to deploy any Windows version to a physical device or VM joined to Intune with an autopilot profile in your tenant without using group tags or manual hashing (I suggest using dynamic device groups based upon group tag -or- name prefix in the device profile since this process does not create a group tag)

We had an excellent Gosho study meeting last night led by our Men's Division and YWD Region leaders. Did we mention it was unconventional? It was our May lecture, held in June, postponed because we were all so engaged promoting Special May Contributions to our members. Also, our MD leader built his presentation around a clipping from the 1980s film Cool Runnings.
Sensei's lecture was entitled "Faith Is the Compass for Victory in Life—Courageously and Cheerfully Sailing the Course to Happiness." It starts with some important questions: What is the correct way to live (the question Sensei, at his first meeting on August 14th, 1947, asked President Toda)? What are the beliefs and philosophies that guide our actions? How do we prevent the turbulent currents of life and society from sweeping us away? What is the fundamental philosophy that accords with the underlying Law of the universe? How can we adorn our lives with unsurpassed victory?

Nichiren Daishonin’s writings are a source of inspiration and courage. They awaken us to the absolute dignity of our lives and enable us to overcome all adversity. Buddhist study is the driving force for building a solid core of wisdom and freely creating value. Studying the supreme principles of life brings joy and will not fail to impact our lives profoundly. Those who study and those who teach become experts in human philosophy, whose lives shine with pride and triumph. Mr. Toda frequently encouraged members by describing those who embrace Nichiren Buddhism as champions of faith and life.
We studied two quotes from the writings of Nichiren. The first one was a passage from A Ship to Cross the Seas of Suffering. On it, Sensei reminds us that "life is a series of hardships" and that "in an age like ours, marked by unending crises, many face challenges that seem beyond their control." The essence of faith is "advancing toward victory with hope and an expansive life state even when tossed about by life’s seemingly endless trials."
The Japanese people contemporary to the Daishonin lived in what must have seemed to them to be an apocalyptic and dystopian time. In “On Establishing the Correct Teaching for the Peace of the Land” Nichiren wrote: “There is hardly a single person who does not grieve” and “I have been brooding alone upon this matter, indignant in my heart” (WND-1, 6-7).
Nichiren calls the endless suffering of life in this world “the sea of the sufferings of birth and death” (WND-1, 33). It is an expanse of raging waves stretching as far as the eye can see, its waters dark and depths unfathomable.
We can say that today is equally dystopian and apocalyptic. The brutality of wars in Ukraine and Sudan are barbaric. Right where my wife and I live, on Wednesday we woke up to orange skies. It was straight from a sci-fi movie.
But, returning to the original questions, how do we stand on suede and swim against the tides? Stay tuned.

After sorting out her thought, Lemuen finally decides to take her first action. Lemuen felt someone presence outside her room, and it turned out to be a person with inhuman form, Lemuen recognized what is the identity of that figure based on data provide by Iberia.(Who would've expect that someday the wheelchaired Lemuen will have contact with seaborn???)
The inhuman figure didn't see Lemuen as target and just ran away, Lemuen chase it to prevent it attacking the monastery residents and causing panic. When she catch up, Lemuen learns that the figure still retains the sheer of its human will and speak function.
Lemuen wants to contact Iberia Inquisition for help, untill she got a sudden attack from another uninvited guest and causing the figure to ran away again, when Lemuen wants to shoot, the tip of her gun was stopped by unknown force. The clouds that obscured the moonlight dispersed, and Lemuen finally saw the person in front of her.
Lemuen: "Initially, I thought this business trip would be a rather relaxed and pleasant journey. Picking up countrymen from a monastery back to Laterano doesn't sound too difficult, right?"Lemuen: "Hmm, at most, having Oren as a teammate might add a bit of trouble."Lemuen: Oh well, I'm confident I can handle a little trouble. After all, Oren is not unreasonable~"
Aulus: "With your proficiency in using gun, indeed you should be able to handle most troubles."

Hi CS people, this is a rant about random-number-generator (RNG) spawn points at the beginning of every round in CS:GO / CS2. I posted about this before but wasn't sure how to organize it very well, so here I go again. Maybe this will turn into a regular thing for me, who knows. Please don't mind the sus account, I posted clash of clans screenshots on my OG account, and I don't know where it went, and I'm glad nobody can see that.
So basically, I don't understand why people aren't complaining about random spawns at the start of literally. every. single. round. in this game. Like, I get the game is fun, I played 6000 hours of it, didn't get anywhere, but oh well. Still, the game has elements of randomness to it, but I just feel that that should not be in the spawns at the start of the round.
So, why? Well, the game has RNG in it-- but I believe it's best when that RNG is kept within your power as a player. You and your team can decide to full commit A, and the enemies stacked A, and you lost, and, well, you F'd up. That's your fault. But... and this is best explained with AWPs, since they're one-shot and long-distance. But what I'm about to say applies to any gun of course, any situation. It's just most notable / visible in an AWP vs AWP situation. So, well, you already know where I'm going. One awper beats another awper. Hooray. So, the awper who won is obviously better, right?
Nope.
Simply put, you might have heard of the "butterfly effect", right? This cascading effect, you know? Like you meet a girl at a library and then you blink and you thought you have grandchildren but turns out you're just middle-aged crying in your studio apartment alone. Butterfly effect, right? Ok, so, basically, awp timings. Are dumb. When they're. Determined. By. Random. Spawns.
Any timing. Rifle timings. Duelie timings. Screw it, Zeus timings.
Every. Single. Timing. In this game, is determined by, a freakin' spawn. That you didn't get to choose. You didn't want that spawnpoint! The game did. Not you! You have no control over that spawnpoint. You start running and running and running sending yourself off to war-- you didn't even choose where you started from in the first place!
You might say, "Come on dude, it can't be that big of a deal."
It's a big deal.
Butterfly effect. The butterfly effect can lead anywhere theoretically, can it not? Even to the furthest craziest outreaches of your imagination, can it not? You can pick up a plastic bottle cap and somehow that's the reason why you're a billionaire by 2030. Is that not true? Ok. So, think of it this way: Simply because of the random spawns at the beginning of the round, somehow the round played out in some way. Pretty easy to understand, right? Well, what if you're on the losing side? Yeah, now you're salty. Just like me; you're not alone.
"I suck."
"I'm bad."
"I could have done something better."
Or... could you have?
Well, just go into the demo. Answer your own question.
"Oh crap, that guy had a really good spawn for that specific situation 15 seconds into that round. If I just had a better spawn I would have gotten to that angle at Banana way earlier than him and he'd probably make that same decision of peeking it without a good flashbang and I would have popped him right in the face.
I... just... got... unlucky. That his spawn was so much better than mine. Had my spawn just been a mere 30 units further up the map, I would have killed him, and I would have won a grand total of $0 in prize money!"
And you might argue, "Well, sure, the spawns definitely played a role in the outcome of that interaction, but, come on. Obviously the dead player is just WORSE than the alive player-- all the dead player had to do was flash or molly or something you know! He's clearly worse."
My friend. Butterfly effect. Butterfly effect. Butterfly effect.
The reason why the dead player (player that lost the duel) didn't molly or flash or anything is because he's hoping his spawn is better than the other dude's spawn. The reason why the alive player (player that won the duel) didn't molly or flash or anything and instead just went straight onto the angle and ended up winning the duel is because he's hoping, keyword, hoping, that his spawn is pretty good, at least better than his enemy's spawn.
See where I'm going with this?
On BOTH sides of that example duel... my dudes be hopin'! There is no knowin'. Right?
What is CS? CS is knowing that when you molotov sandbag, and it's not extinguished by a smoke, that there's nobody there... after 2.5 seconds. You wait 2.5 seconds and now you know nobody's there (cuz they would've died by then), or if you don't hear any burnie burnie sounds. Right? That's what CS is.
What is CS? CS is knowing that when you smoke, say, A Main on Mirage off. That if they jump through they're going to be gray-screened and you're going to shoot them in the face while they're still swiping their mouses around trying to find you. If they wait for the smoke to dissipate, and push with good utility, uh oh, you're in trouble. You know this. That's what CS is.
What about CS2? Even CS2, same thing. You know that if you toss an HE onto that smoke, that it will dissipate for about a second and then come back. You know this. You know that that is what the game is, that is CS2.
You also know that when you throw this flashbang, and let's say it's a good one, that, maybe it works. Maybe it doesn't. Maybe the enemies have an anti-flash setup, maybe they don't. Maybe there's nobody there at all and you should have just saved that flashbang for the next area, right? We all know this. We understand this as "Counter-Strike", right?
But, do you know which spawn you're going to get next round?
Go, join a game. Queue up, spend another hour of your life praying to god that your team gets the better spawns according to player skill and whatnot (worst players in the front, best players in the back obviously) and hope the enemy gets worse spawns, and has no idea what to do even when you rush B with no nades. Realize, that, you didn't choose any of those spawns. The way the rounds are initiated? Literally none of your doing. Purely Valve's doing. Just with some, random number generator looping code or whatever. I don't code, sorry. I write unnecessarily long complaints about a kiddie video game.
So, where was I? Oh yeah. You don't know which spawn you're going to get. That's uh, I mean, I guess that could be just "part of the experience" of CS. But, it shouldn't. I'm trying to explain why, but, honestly, I'm having a hard time, please give me some time to try to figure this out. Basically, the way I understand it is the butterfly effect.
The butterfly effect in CS:GO / CS2: You get a spawn. You say: Oh, I could use this spawn. I should do... this play. Ok, I'm going to do it, I've made up my mind.
Teammate: Oh, sir! I see you have gotten a specific spawn! So, shall I support thee with a variety of supportive grenades to accommodate such an INGENIUS play?
You say: Why, yes please, thank you very much!
And, what just happened? Ah, yes. Counter-strike, based off a random spawn that was not of the choice of the player. Hmm. How fascinating. So what you're telling me is, had this player not been given this specific spawn in this round, he and his teammate(s) actually would have ended up doing something completely different? Ah, how interesting.
Now, a lot of people might go, No way! I'm an independent thinker. I would never let the game choose my plays for me!
Cow poop.
Trust me when I say this: 99.9999999% of the Counter-Strike playerbase, that means, allllll of you reading this. Would have literally done a different play if you just got a different spawn that round. It's just true. It's just the truth.
Want to know why? It's because you want to win. You got this spawn, and you realize, Hey, in order for me to, Win, I would have to, Use this spawn, in a, Certain way. Which would be to, Make, This play, or That play, or whatever.
You want to win. So, whatever spawn you're gonna get...
You're gonna roll with it. And tryhard to your maximum capabilities based on where you started.
So, back to the butterfly effect then. Assuming that everybody in the server is tryharding (every CS player) and knowing that everybody in the server is getting a random spawn every single time at the start of every single round. What do you think's going to happen? Do you think that if... Monesy got the best Mid spawn as Mirage CT, he would just... ignore it? Absolutely not. Like, 90% of the time, he would use it. (Spawn based CS.) He would make the cat jump, he would do an underpass one way, he would jump down to connector, Whatever! He would use that spawn.
And if, I dunno, who's an awper? JW? Alright, JW. JW, if he got the best Mid spawn as Mirage T, would he use it? Absolutely. Well, unfortunately in this specific scenario the CT awp would always kill the T awp if they both got good spawns, assuming the CT didn't get blinded or smoked off, and assuming you don't miss. But anyways, why am I even explaining any of this? Everybody knows this already. That CS is spawn based.
But my point is, it's... literally ruining players' experience of the game.
Sure, it's fun, random is fun, and, honestly, I don't really care what spawn I get. The game already has millions and billions of permutations and combinations of possibilities just based on factors such as flashbangs, smoke grenades, peek timings, and so on. With or without random RNG spawnpoints, every round of CS after 20 seconds into the round is already almost guaranteed to be unique and one-of-a-kind, much like chess.
But, sigh. How do I say this. What I'm saying is, the random spawns? The random spawns at the start of every. friggin. round? Yeah, they're like, they're like... affecting too much. All those super intense professional matches you watched? Raising you out of your seat? Going oooo and ahhhh? Yeah, those games, are actually, just...
Spawn based.
How do I say this without hurting anybody's feelings? Honestly I don't know. Screw it. When the match is fair / evenly matched, random spawnpoints are actually what determine the outcome of the game, not skill.
Obviously Vitality is going to beat your ESEA Main team. But, Vitality vs. Heroic? 10 players whom you'll never be as good as? They're all hitting instant-headshots. They're all missing 0 sprays out of 10,000. Thousands of fans look up to these guys. And... what determines the outcomes of their games?
Their skill? Counter-stratting?
Wit? Speed?
Trickery? Talent?!?!
Actually, it's, RNG spawns. Yeah. Very underwhelming. Very anticlimactic. Wanna know why?
Well, the best way I can prove to you that this is true-- that RNG spawnpoints are actually the leading cause of victory and defeat in CS, far more potent than skill, far more potent than "stratbook depth", assuming we're talking about fair, even-matched, similar-level play, so, pro play, tier 1.
Is, uh... hold on. Ok. So, let's say, Zywoo gets a spawn. It's good. He kills Teses with this spawn.
BUT. If Cadian got a BETTER spawn that round, he actually would have ended up killing Zywoo, and therefore Zywoo wouldn't have killed Teses.
Go on and go on and Heroic would have won the round, Vitality would have been broke, and Heroic would have won the map, and let's say this is Map 3 of the major. And there you go. I've just proven to you that just with one "[random] spawn interaction" (Zywoo got a good spawn, Cadian got a bad spawn), one team won the tournament over the other.
Based on random chance.
Not based on skill. Remember, we're assuming everybody never misses and is super good at the game. I know, I know, flawed thought experiment, but come on. At the pro level, BASICALLY nobody misses. It's just the truth.
So if nobody misses, and everybody hits their shots, how come one team loses and the other team wins? Why aren't both teams winning if they're both so skilled and would literally stomp 99/100 times every single person reading this right now?

Sir. Respectfully. HUGELY varying spawnpoints in a game as "millimeters" and "split-second" and "oh my god had I just done THAT I would have won ffs" as CS? Sorry, but *random spawnpoints* is not just "luck".
It's a determining factor.
Every. Single. Round. Especially at the highest level. You're praying "Please give my most skilled player the best spawn for whatever situation they're going to get themselves in"

If it were removed, you could just go, Alright skilled player, I'mma setchu up right 'bout now, you're gonna go there, I'm gonna do this, you're gonna do that, we're gonna win. Instead it's... "Please gaben let my star player start somewhere that makes sense. Oh my god thank god. Alright now we can do the plan LOL." ...Yeah. Not the greatest. Sorry, have I mentioned yet, that I don't like spawn based CS? Well I'll mention it now. I don't like spawn based CS. It's not smart. At all.
I could go on forever dude. I swear to god I don't understand why people don't get worked up about this. Literally every game of CS I've ever played, Yes I know I'm bad, Yes I know I'm just a hopeless player, I know all of this you don't need to tell me again, But seriously, the random spawns actually do not make any sense at all. It's just not competitively viable. The players aren't even in control of this one pretty important factor, how can you call that good, high-quality competition? Good, high-quality competition is when players make every decision consciously for themselves by themselves and they beat the enemy players who also made their own conscious decisions for themselves by themselves. When you have a game that's just like, Oh yeah I won this round because uh, Well, the other guy couldn't really control what spawn he started with so, I mean, he got unlucky, too bad for him. Like, what?
Let's say you're karrigan and you have Twistzz, Broky, Ropz, and Rain on your team. Well, let's not just say, but that's actually what's happening right now. So, Twistzz got the best spawn to peek A as a Mirage T. Broky throws the awp to Twistzz, Twistzz peeks Triple from A Main, Twistzz misses. Because, idk, he's bad.
Let's say Broky had been in Twistzz's spawn instead, he keeps the awp to himself, peeks triple, bops a kid, say, s1mple, right in the face, no issues.
I mean, pretty simple explanation, right? Spawn based CS.
You don't want the game to choose your spawnpoints for you.
YOU want to choose the spawnpoints for you!
That way, especially if you're karrigan (none of you reading this). You can place the player you want, in the position that is best for them and the team, according to their skill, according to their specialty, and so on and so on.
Random. Spawnpoints. Completely. Gives. Karrigan. Absolutely. Very. Little. To. No. Control. Over. His... strategies! Mr. Genius Man has a strategy in mind, he wants to do something something something, annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd
Valve says "Nope, try a different one."
Come on, man. Karrigan's like "Valve why?! Valve why you don't just give me Broky fast A spawn for awp pick Valve!?!? Valve why!?!? We lose major now!!!!!"
Valve: Hehe, fonny.
Karrigan: All I needed was that ONE spawn bro! If we just had that chance at an opening we woulda been on such a roll and literally steamrolled them and I'd be down in Counter-Strike history!
So, people have told me already on here that they're not so sure about the "Ideal spawns every round" sort of thing and that it will probably lead to games being "Very boring, slow in the early round, and predictable."
Huh? This counter-argument genuinely confuses me.
If you ask me, I think it's BECAUSE spawns are random and teams cannot choose their friggin' spawns that they end up doing DEFAULT after DEFAULT after DEFAULT after DEFAULT.
Seriously, who wants to watch that? I want to watch JKS runboosting Monesy one round at top middle, then the next round I want to see JKS and Monesy running out palace with Hooxi's flashes right at the start of the round.
If the randomly generated spawns aren't accommodating of these strategies G2 might employ, then, what happens? Think. Oh yeah. Now JKS is just sitting at A ramp rafters for 55 seconds, waiting for huNteR to get a one-bullet pick on a window jumpspot from underpass. I mean like, come on.
Why? Why did this happen? All because there wasn't really a good strat that the team could think of based on the spawns so they just went for a default because they're afraid of losing the match and losing their jobs and yadda yadda yadda right?
And what. What if. What if? G2 could simply, select. I want Monesy here. I want JKS there. Hunter and Niko will go there. And I will just be there. And now instead of a default, you're seeing like, something actually happen? And... oh look. The enemy team, also, selected their spawnpoints, and are taking certain parts of the map in a certain way, based on, utilizing, those spawnpoints they selected, and, well, now, we'll just wait and see who read the other team better. Cool.
Again, like, how do I explain this. Like, the AWP pick that that nutty awper is going for? It's literally based off of a spawn. Like, bro. If he picked that spawnpoint and went for that aggressive peek himself, the nutty awper, I would be like, nice, good for you man. That's YOUR decision, congrats dude. But when the awper is just going for the pick just because he got a good spawn for it (talking about myself as well), I'm just like, eh, whatever dude. The Car peek on Inferno for example. Purely spawn based. Literally about as interesting as a paper towel from Costco.
So back to the people who think the ability to choose your spawnpoints somehow leads to CS being "Predictable, slow, and boring." How? As if tryhard CS isn't already predictable slow and boring. I can quite easily predict that most of the time when you see an awp pick happen, or any pick happen rather, it's really because somebody got a good spawn, and somebody got a bad spawn, and that's it. Sigh. Like, wouldn't it be better to think of it as, One player CHOSE this spawn and timing and angle of play and killed the other player who CHOSE that spawn and that timing and that angle to come into the peek or whatever. Like, right?
Look, I get it. S1mple's beautiful shake and his beautiful adjustments, Niko's clean deags, I get it. This game is eye-candy, and it's gonna be even more eye-candy in a short while. The beautiful plays are too beautiful to ignore, there's no way that player's position on the map and situation in the situation could POSSIBLY be a result of some RNG generator, right?
But it is. It is. Think about it.
I honestly don't know how else to put this. I'm not trying to say the game is random and I hate that. I'm trying to say that there is an element of the game that is way too random for the quality that the game should be at. This game should be, very good. But, random spawns. Put bluntly. Are not good.
Not good for competition, not good for viewers, not good for players. Well, not good for me at least. And maybe it's a me problem, maybe I'm all alone on this. And I'm fine with that. But, seriously...
I literally do not get any enjoyment when I can trace back the result of the round simply due to a spawn that I or a teammate got. We might smash full team ace whatever valorant style flawless shabangwang a round, but, if I simply remember, oh, our nutty awper dude got a crazy spawn for, that spot, and, unfortunately, they perhaps got some bad spawns so he got on the angle quite early and comfortable (like, whatever, you know what I mean). So, basically, when RNG decides to put a good player in a good spot on my team, the round goes to me. And when RNG decides to put a good player in a good spot for the enemy team, the round goes to them. RNG...
RNG...
RNG...
Same thing when I watch pro play. Same thing, no difference. Some crazy stuff can happen, but a lot of the times, I can just see that like, well, He got a good spawn, He didn't, the round went to the guy with the good spawn... dot dot dot... dot dot dot...
And it's like, yeah, obviously this is a bit of an exaggeration. Obviously the aim, the flicks, the spray control, the reads, the rotations, yes, obviously all of these HELP MITIGATE the effects of random spawns at the beginning of the round. But, in what way does that have anything to do with the fact that, the way all of these CS rounds start is just like, fundamentally flawed almost?
Like, you don't need random spawns in CS for there to be variation in the gameplay. If you knew Perfecto was going Solo B every round and s1mple was just alone in Window every round, you would just keep hitting B until Navi adjusted so they would stop losing and stop losing their jobs, right?
Again, you don't need random spawns for the gameplay to be varied and, well, random.
Because of the nature of counter-stratting and whatnot, s1mple will almost HAVE to do one round with a good B spawn to peek B aps (Mirage CT), next round a good A spawn to peek A palace, next round a good mid spawn to hold top mid from Cat, I mean like, and on and on, right?
Yet, the way the game is now... with... RNG spawns. s1mple basically just has to look at his spawn and THAT will tell him, Yeah dude, go B this time with your awp, Yeah dude, go A this time with your awp, Mid, and so on. Like, hello? This is s1mple, this man is huge this man is big this man is significant, and you're just like, placing him... anywhere? In the spawn location? Just, willy nilly?
A man like that, all that clout... don't you wanna like, be a little bit more specific? Detailed? Methodical? I dunno. English words.
Somebody replied to me before that "CS is not about things being 'optimal' every round, it's about WHO can ADJUST to the given circumstances of a round."
And it's like, heck yeah, I agree. Circumstances that are CONTROLLED by the PLAYERS in the server. Not circumstances handed to you by some all-powerful deity. The RNG lords.
CS should be about running around and poppin' heads on a map where YOU and YOUR TEAM decided the SMOKES, the FLASHES, the HE's, the friggin' DECOYS, the BOOSTS, the JUMPSPOTS, the IDK
CS STUFF
AND. DRUMROLL.
THE SPAWNS.
Where it all begins. Literally, everything you do in a match of CS. Begins. With the spawns.
Obviously.
And yet, nobody seems to care. Nobody seems to notice any impact these random spawns may have on their game, the games they watch. No, we're too busy clipping Zywoo's 1v4 + the hot and amazing silent drop-down from heaven. We're too busy making fun of Niko missing a headshot on the back of a moving target who has the reaction times of an angel. And really nobody seems to be making a fuss about how the game is almost fundamentally flawed. Almost.
If not, is, fundamentally flawed. IDK. I ain't nobody, alright, I'm just some American dude.
How to wrap up. I mean, chances are I'll come back in and edit anything else I might want to elaborate on, just for the sake of being even more annoying and ridiculous. Obviously I already talked about this with friends and whatnot, but, seriously, I don't see why not try to make this at least a little bit more well-known and well-thought-about. "CS" is sort of "BS" right now, and I don't mean that in an edgy way, I'm just trying to talk about how the game could be more polished and more "perfect" and more, competitively-sound. Competitively-sound, I'd say is what I'm trying to do here lol. Yep...
So what my suggestion is, to be clear, is basically just the Danger Zone spawn selection program thingie. You uh, yeah. You click the image and that's where you'll spawn. I know, Valve shouldn't do this because people can get toxic, like, "Hey, you took my spawn! That's MY spawn! ****head!" And so on and so on. But I mean like, maybe they can have different types of competitive (I know, Overwatch territory), one has random spawns, one has selectable spawns. Doesn't seem too out of reach in my eyes. But, just, just that simple idea basically lol. Spawn selections. So, you have more control over your team. Your play. You're like, actually playing the game now. You're not just, hoping... to play the game. You know?
Every decision you make is your decision and if it fails that's you failing, and not your RNG spawn failing you... I know, it sounds like I'm blaming my spawn for being bad, but, trust me, I know I'm bad, but I still think something's wrong with the spawn system.
So, another person mentioned that this sort of "spawning issue" is really "Focused/targetting the super-tryhards and the hyper-competitive players" and it's like, yeah, it sort of is. At least that's where you'll definitely "feel" the biggest effect if such a change were to be implemented. I dunno man, if you ask me, I feel like the pros would gobble up something like this, they'd probably all sigh a breathe of relief that they're not praying that their AWPer is gonna get a good spawn or not every round. Every day, during practice, scrims, officials, like-- they can finally have control over how they want to play the game. If you ask me I feel like they'd love it. If they want to put Zywoo "forward" and "faster" this round, they'll do it. If not, they'll put him "back there". Like, full control. I literally do not see a downside. I don't see boredom. I don't see staleness. I don't see predictability. I don't see "lack of adjustment".
I don't see "not fun to watch", or "not fun to play".
I see "very fun to play", and "very fun to watch". I know, I'm biased. Maybe I'm a bit too tryhard, and I'm trying to mold the rules of the game to my specific playstyle and I'm just a narc. I mean, maybe. Actually, yes.
Oh, so, regarding casual players. I don't see how negatively they could be affected. At worst, they're annoyed that they have to choose a spawnpoint every round despite having no idea what they want to do in the round anyways. ("Tell me, why do I need to do this again?"). At best, they get more interested and involved in the strategy and timings and spawnpoints in the game, pros and cons of having a fast or slow spawnpoint, and so on and so on. Choosing a fast spawnpoint might actually get you killed earlier. Not letting the skilled entry player get the fast spawnpoint might cause your team to lose the game. And so on and so on, all these little intricacies.
A Vitality match starts, you see Zywoo spawns in on an A-leaning spawn, you say to yourself "Hey, so, looks like the big man awper is going for an A play this round."
Rather than, "Uh, well, he COULD and SHOULD go for an A play this round based on his random spawn but I mean like, I don't know. He didn't choose that spawn so like, I really don't know lol. Maybe his team has other plans." You know?
It just, doesn't make sense, if you ask me. Random spawns in a game that can reach such a high level of organization and intent and planning and strategy, just... it doesn't have a place in a game as good as CS. That's it. That's all I have to say. Good luck reading all of this if this novel doesn't get taken down. What should I put as a TL;DR?
TL;DR: Random spawns in CS doesn't make sense in a game as competitive as CS
Ok, I'm done for now, I'll probably be back later with a bunch of edits anyway. Remember, none of this is important, it's just a video game. CS2 looks very pretty, improves visibility a lot, buy menu is new, everything is nicer, skins will be better, smokes are not just OP walls anymore and you can actually temporarily remove them so you're not just stuck behind a big wall for 15 seconds over and over again (I call it the CS experience), everything is better, but, spawns are still random? Like, okay, if that really is the best option for the game, so be it. If that truly is the best way for competition and overall gameplay to be fair, fun, interesting, exciting, and pulling in revenue, then, yeah, so be it.

2023.06.09 10:38 AbuelaFlipFlop Cannot get skse to run skyrim with M02 mods activated

I'm running skse via m02, I have skyrim and all files related to skyrim and its mods m02 and such on a completely different drive then windows, my fire wall and all of that is completely off, Ive even tried running the game in admin mode to no avail. I was directed in another thread to try deleting the skyrim ini, that didn't work. Ive triple checked that the version of skse im getting from silverlock is the AE version, and Ive checked the properties of my skyrim exe to make SURE that its AE as well. all mods are the AE not se variations where important.

but nothing I do can get even one mod to load. my mcm menu is blank and every time I launch new game it starts vanilla horse cart and the the alt start mod I have in the game, I can only imagine that whats happening is that for whatever reason skse launches the games but cannot launch the plugins or staged mods with the game and I have no idea how to fix it, please help me I'm going nuts its been like 4-5 days of uninstalling reinstalling and Ive even swapped from vortex to m02 on the suggestion the issue might have been a vortex problem(turns out it wasn't).

2023.06.09 10:03 jacqueifer Seventh Heaven - How I Finally Passed the Dubai RTA Test (Parking + Road) - A Few Tips, Tricks and Myths I Learned The Hard Way

Learning to drive - something perhaps I should have done at 18 (ample time but no car or money to learn) and at now at 36 you have the money to learn but no time. Like most working professionals in Dubai, our jobs are demanding so carving time out to learn needs to be well planned and fruitful.
If this post could do anything, I hope you can learn from my mistakes, so here goes:
  1. Picking Finance If you are a new driver (having never driven back home either) - take the unlimited/contract option with your driving school. It will cost nearly double the normal package but is worth it because you don't have the financial stress of paying more if you fail - I didn't think it would be this difficult to pass and I was wrong. In Dubai you need to complete 40 hours to take the test (split between parking and on road), for a new new driver this is simply not enough hours to build confidence (this is why you hear of so many stories of people repeating the test - in particular new drivers). To compare, in a Melbourne, Australia the minimum hours needed is 120.
  2. Picking a Driving Institution, pick wisely. Most people review the online comments to gauge how good a school is. The tip here is to talk to friends, family or colleagues that have passed out a particular branch/location. The opinion of the brands (EDI, DDC, Belhasa, Galadari) vary among people and I didn't find it an accurate measure but the branch is more important. I used Dubai Driving Institute in Al Quoz. Nice range of instructors but the location is a challenge. I will explain later in the post.
  3. Selecting a Driving Instructor in most cases you will be assigned a driving instructor. As a first time driver, you aren't going to know if your instructor is good or bad. What you should ask yourself after the four classes is - does this person spend a lot of time on their phone? Does this person stop my mistakes or does this person teach me how to do it correctly? The latter is more important. If you aren't learning, request for a change and don't be worried about what people will think - you are paying to be thought.
  4. Driving Institution Location - this is an important factor in where you learn to drive. Al Quoz is an industrial area filled with large trucks, commercial buses, vehicles and in general traffic at all times. To add to this you have drivers who aren't as courteous, will cut, will not signal, you have pedestrians crossing at undesignated areas, road cleaners and people moving on the wrong side of the road with their little scooters, cycles and mopeds. As a learning area, it reminds one a little of driving in India / Egypt. For a first time driver, perhaps there are easier routes to train in like the Dry Docks or DIP.
  5. Passing the Theory Test - really straight forward, complete the course and practice the mock exams theory + video scenario. There are a pool of about 300 odd questions, from which you get 40 (35 theory + 5 video scenarios) on your RTA exam. Only when you can consistently secure 90% plus on the mock exams, you should attempt the RTA Theory Test.
  6. Passing the Parking Test - the first tip is to practice this in the location you are doing the test. I practiced it at the Al Quoz Branch but did the test at the Al Khail branch - the reason behind this is the automated testing facility is here and you need to familiarize yourself with the automated vehicle. The second tip, which I learned from one of the senior trainers is - parking is mathematics, if you get the basics right you'll be able to park consistently. Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTeIdxINoO8&t=524s it will greatly benefit you. I passed the hill park, emergency breaking, parallel parking and angle parking on the first go. Failing only garage because I have a problem with the method from the training school.
  7. Garage Parking - at the school, they train you to use the sticker indication on the rear passenger window which is bonkers (its apparently a trick to help students pass you can see this in 12:06 of the video shared above). The challenge with this method is depending on your height, seat location, backrest location or whether you wear glasses all affect the angle. For the longest time I couldn't crack this as I kept getting or failing by small margins. The easiest way to pass this is to angle the car in and readjust it in front of you (the RTA allows you to do this in the test) before parking. Again here only attempt the parking when you have cleared the internal mock tests.
  8. RTA Myth - they have a quota of people to fail everyday, this is not true - you can either drive or not it's that simple.
  9. RTA Instructors - have different temperaments, if you are nervous it will reflect when you drive and they can pick up on that. Test when only when confident.
  10. Mental Pressure - it took me seven attempts, I remember distinctly when I failed the third time, I wanted to give up. Instead I reframed my thinking to accept that failing the test simply meant the RTA was keeping me safe by telling me I didn't have sufficient knowledge to be on the road. The second change I made was to stop comparing myself and telling people about my test - failing stopped becoming a burden.
Failures
Driving Test Failures - all my failures where down to one key thing - situational awareness. I was thought what to do on the road but not how to think on the road. This his impacted my decision making/confidence. You can only gain situational awareness when you have been on the road long enough and hence why I would encourage new drivers to get at least 60 to 80 hours before they take the test. Most people won't talk about their failures, I will tell you about mine with the hope you can learn from it.
  1. Failure 1 - attempted to cross the T junction without sufficient gap (I couldn't assess distance vs speed). What I should have done is let the speeding car pass and then cross.
  2. Failure 2 - this is the only one I was unhappy with the judgement. I waited 'too long' to move into a lane to overtake, I was told during the test I was failing because I will cause a traffic jam. All I wanted was a clear road to be able to safely take the car. Debatable.
  3. Failure 3 - turned into the second lane instead of the third lane at the U-turn. Correct thing to have done would have been to turn into the third lane.
  4. Failure 4 - attempted to merge on to a road without sufficient gap. I was thought to take the gap, the correct thing for a driving school car to do is to wait for a clear road where there is not debate on the distance x speed.
  5. Failure 5 - there was a cleaner on the road at the before signal turn (this happened in the afternoon), I slowed down and moved to the left but the correct thing to have done was slow down, blow horn, indicate to move to the left (even though the line is being cut).
  6. Failure 6 - I made an assumption that a taxi to my left would wait/allow me to pass but he was in a hurry and entered the round about a second before I could. I should have just waited, allowed him to pass.
Through all my tests - vehicle control, lane changes and general observance of rules was good. The lack of situational awareness cost me, especially judging distance x speed.
Tips to Pass the Test
Besides the normal things, here's ten things I wish I knew before I started:
  1. You are likely to test in a Nissan Sunny, the steering wheel has a notch below it to adjust it. Adjust it to the top most position position, this will build familiarity in your mind and the position is always the same. An internal examiner showed me this - after five months.
  2. Build a routine when you get into the car - adjust seat, adjust mirrors, then seat belt, then check for passenger seat belts. This routine becomes habit and habit will give you confidence.
  3. When you drive, check your rear view mirror every 5-8 seconds. Improves situational awareness.
  4. If you turn anywhere, just indicate. Make it a habit.
  5. In Al Quoz, indicate about 10 meters before the turn as there are lots of little garages/shops and drivers behind might think you are going there instead.
  6. Assume everyone on the road is unpredictable, it will train you to be a better defensive driver.
  7. If you are testing in Al Quoz, I recommend to test in the morning.
  8. Examiners are there to test basics and observe your understanding of the road. They're never going to ask you to try a lane change when the situation doesn't permit - what they will check is your judgement of the situation.
  9. Don't compare yourself to others.
  10. The vehicle on the left has priority.
  11. If you finish your internal classes, test within three days.
  12. Know where your pedestrian crossings are. Pedestrians in Al Quoz take this space for granted.
  13. If you are in the left lane at a pedestrian crossing, you are expected to indicate and cross at the right - the examiner won't ask you but its expected (have seen people on the test fail for this).
  14. If you happen to fail, try and book classes to learn immediately - don't be dejected or give up, everyone goes through it. The quicker you learn, the quicker you are able to test again. The momentum of wanting to learn and taking the test is what will drive you.
  15. At a round about, learn to exit and enter from every direction. Have seen other test members in the car who are so used to doing one thing, they forget when the examiner takes them to a new route.
  16. Know your area you are testing in - you'll be able to anticipate the roads you are connecting and the environment before you get there.
  17. If testing Al Quoz, use your horn - trust me you'll need it.
  18. Learn to start the car (most cars are already started when you enter). Occasionally if you go first, you might be asked to start the car.
  19. If you're asked to lane change, don't forget to check your blind spot.
  20. On the day of the test, arrive a minimum 30 minutes early and say a small prayer - both of these will soothe you.
  21. Given how busy Al Quoz is, some of the Stop lines have faded or are covered with dust, don't let this fool you - know these spots, look for the boards and stop.
  22. If you don't have the confidence, don't test.
  23. Assuming you have practiced 80 hours thats a total of 4,800 minutes, your test is 10 minutes - you got this.
  24. Always remember, the RTA is out to keep you safe. If they fail you, they are saving you.
  25. Unlike the Parking Test where there are 5 things you are tested on, there's not menu of items you have for the Driving Test but here's the top 5 things you definitely need to know: Situational Awareness, Lane Change, U-Turns into 2 & 3 lanes, Merging, Entering/Exiting Roundabouts
Finally, seventh heaven - aced the test on this attempt. Unlike before I was confident and calm. I arrived early, said a small prayer, did the same routine I always do when I enter the car, drove confidently - on the day had to enteexit a round about, do a u-turn, a couple of t-junctions and lane change twice - entire thing lasted ten minutes.

To conclude, you need two key things going into the test experience and confidence. Experience comes from repetition, repetition builds confidence.

If you're a beginner to the game or the series in general, the beginning sections and tutorials will naturally be quite overwhelming. Take things one step at a time, find a weapon that fits your play style best and enjoy the ride until you get a decent amount of monster hunts in to familiarize yourself with the game.
There will be tons of things to tweak and learn about on this game and no single article can give justice to the complexities of how to fully optimize your experience so additional research is recommended. Treat this article as a supplementary guide.
Efficiency Tips
Enjoy the story and progress through the main quest line as soon and as often as you can. The reason for this is as you progress through the story and your hunter rank increases, more equipment upgrades will be available to you along with the ability to upgrade the base defense of your gear further which unlocks incrementally as you increase in rank. The more defense you have means the more hits you can take and less healing items you consume which you can spend learning the monsters moves and hitting it.
Work on the 🏆 Beat-up Construction Kit as soon as possible and unlock all camp site locations on each map so you can fast travel conveniently closer to your target's location.

Blights and Status Ailments Explained and their Cures is explained best in GadgetGabe's Top Voted answer from this GameFAQs forum. Use this wisely to cure yourself ASAP and stay at tip top shape for your fight. You can eventually customize your item load outs when hunting particular monsters.
Register an inventory and radial menu layout that is best for your hunt and tweak it accordingly if you are working on a solo hunt or are in a group. You can set up your action bar (the bar that uses the left and right d-pad) too.
Learn about monster elemental and ailment weaknesses, weak points and parts that you can sever to improve your success rate in a fight. E.g. Flash bombs work well on monsters in flight. Severing a Pukei-pukei's tail makes the monster incapable of it's wide poison gas attack.
Monster Elemental and Ailment Weaknesses and Immunities credit to Pro Game Guides. Monster Hunter Rise explains monster elemental weaknesses well but does not give too much of a description of what elements the monster utilizes against you. To learn that and build the right resistances, refer to the Fextralife MHR Wiki.
As you progress through your hunts, make sure to pick up any hunting helpers and golden/gilded spiribugs along the way. You will need 500 and 1000 respectively for the trophies 🏆 Hunting Helpers Plate and 🏆 Golden Spiribug Plate. If you want to farm Spiribugs exclusively, this video shows an excellent route while displaying some skills on speedy map traversal.
When you are in town, there will be times when you will be prompted that a sale is ongoing from the two merchants. Always take action on this prompt and participate in the lottery that is only available during this sale to progress towards the 12 room decorations you need to win as part of the 🏆 Sturdy Padlock. If the grand prize of the lottery is a room decoration, you have to roll a Jackpot (different from a Bingo) to win it. Even if the grand prize is not a room decoration, you are given a required room decoration for winning 100 items in the lottery.

🏆 Extravagant Cashbox
Awarded for earning 1,000,000 Zenny. The fastest method to earn zenny is by participating in the 2 Star Low Rank Event Quest - Gotta Hoard Fast!. It can be done with a group in 1 minute and rewards you with a Golden Egg which you can sell to the merchant for 20,000z. Use whenever you are short on money. This is also the best quest to use if you want to trigger merchant sales quickly and roll on the lottery.
Using your silk bind/aerial moves to deliver mount damage (indicated by a blue cloud background on the damage inflicted) is a good tactic to learn and master. Arekkz Gaming's Monster Riding Tutorial video explains this well. You can also scout the area where you mount the monster and bump him into special areas on the map that will deal extra damage.
High Rank Quests
An Armorcharm and Powercharm will now be available to purchase from the two item merchants. These work as permanent stat increases as long as you have them in your Item Pouch. When you reach HR7, you will eventually be able to upgrade these charms into Armortalon and Powertalon. These stack and you may repurchase Armorcharm and Powercharm and hold all four items in your Item Pouch.
Decorations will unlock from the Smithy and the Melding Pot will unlock from the item merchants. This would be a good time to study the skills you have available in conjunction with your armor skills and start creating defensive/offensive load outs based on what you are up against.
For talisman crafting via the Melding Pot, craft out the desired skill you need and use accordingly. Once you have your talisman of choice, always roll with Melding - Wisp of Mystery and Melding - Rebirth (unlocks last on a higher HR). They will cost more materials to craft, but will also have better chances of a Rarity 7 Talisman with more skills and better decoration slots.
Prepare status resistances/immunities depending on the monsters you are up against and build up defense, elemental defense and even add elemental attack against them as well. Take note that elemental attack increases on skills only increases an existing element on weapons (or elemental ammo for bowguns) and can not create an element from a non-elemental weapon source.

Armorskin and Demondrug and their corresponding Mega version are items consumed once and will last until you faint or complete the quest. Invest in them as soon as you have the zenny to afford them. You will need to farm Pale Extract from the monster Khezu or purchased as a rare find in the Argosy to craft the mega drugs. You may also choose to deploy the meowcenaries to fight a Khezu to increase your item farm.
Master Rank Quests and Sunbreak Content
With Sunbreak comes a whole new base map and two new locations to explore. Like the base game, there are a number of trophies that involve you interacting with the townsfolk and the goods and services they have to offer. Refer to this video guide for a checklist of what you need to be doing after every quest to cover the trophies 🏆 Snowy Cohoot Minipouch, 🏆 Secret Honey Jar, 🏆 Unbreakable Bag, 🏆 Solid Padlock, 🏆Polychrome Acorn and 🏆 Sojourn Necklace.
🏆 Solid Padlock requires another set of items you need to win in the lottery but take note that the Gargolda Statue only starts appearing after you take a picture of it. Take a daytime expedition for a photo of the creature. Gamer Guru's video shows you how to do it.
Refer to Game8's Eurekacorn article for more ways on farming Eurekacorns for your Polychrome Acorn trophy. Efficiency Tip: Target an expedition with a Herb Node in the Frost Islands together with a Khezu Node for both Eurekacorns and Pale Extracts.
For efficient map traversal, unlock the alternative camp sites on the two new Sunbreak areas along with the new buddy recon points. You will have to unlock 2 recon points per map, for a total of 12 for 🏆 Buddy Whistle. Darcblade has an excellent video guide to cover this.
Crown Hunting
🏆 Mini Crown Plaque and 🏆 Gold Crown Plaque will most likely be the last trophies you will get in the game as these are very grindy to obtain. These entail slaying or capturing the smallest and largest versions of each monster, awarding you a gold crown on your Hunter's Notes. An alternative grouped view of all your crowns can be found in OPT -> Multiplayer -> Guild Cards -> View -> L1 for Hunting Log. Unlike MH World, Rise does not include a crown notification in the points reward section after a hunt. You will have to check your Hunter Notes manually. You do get a prompt of "Monster Size Updated" right after the kill or capture though as your best indicator of a possible crown.

Efficient Strategy
You will want to clear out all the crowns you can possibly obtain from the quests with the 100% chance or boosted crown rate quests. For everything else, learn how to crown snipe to save time and not waste too much time on normal sized targets. If your are sure that your target monster is not a crown size, abort your quest and start a new one. Take note that you need to capture/kill 10 monsters of each type for their respective monster scroll to progress on your 🏆 Sturdy Padlock so anything close to a perceived small or large crown would be worth the kill. The Sunbreak Expansion and Master Rank buffs up the crown monsters appearance rate to as high as 10% for large and 6% for minis. You are best saving the crown hunt for last as you have to tackle Anomaly Investigations for the Sunbreak 🏆 Bahari's Hand Wound Birdie, which entails you earning and spending 3000 Investigation Coins as rewards for these type of quests along with clearing out every single Master Rank quest for the 🏆 Record of Utmost Valor - Master and clearing out 1-4 star anomaly quests for the 🏆 Painting - Crimson Nightmare. There are a total of 7 1-star anomaly quests to unlock and 8 quests for 2-4 stars. There is a good chance that you will be earning majority of these crowns along your progression towards these three trophies with minimal crown cleanup.

As of this writing, there seems to be a lack of content on Large and Mini Gold Crowns for MH Rise. Below is video clips to give some clues on how these monster sizes will look when you encounter them. Monster sizes with 100% chance drop quests will be excluded from this segment.

Anomaly Investigation quest monsters have fixed sizes and will never yield any crowns. The normal Anomaly Quests will share the same 6% small and 10% large crown chance as the MR quests.

Achieved by collecting all 60 Relics scattered over the 5 available maps. Powerpyx's guide for all Relic Locations shows these well. There is a correction to the linked article however, as it is mentioned there that the Rampage Relics unlock after collecting all 10 other Relics per map but is incorrect (unsure what triggers rampage Relic availability but I had access to them at 5 star quest availability on Village and Hub quests). To track the relics you have collected already, go to OPT -> Info -> Hunter Notes -> Notebook.
Gaming with Abyss has good Monster Hunter trophy content and shows locations of each relic per map clearly on his videos.

Other Useful Information
Affinity vs Raw Damage is discussed well on this steamcommunity forum.
The difference between KO/Stun and Trip is explained will in this article. Note that KO and Stun status are the same (in game and articles call it one or the other so this can be confusing) but Trip status is different.
Critical Boost at level 1 raises damage dealt by critical hits by 5%. Your critical hits are already at a base amplified damage of 25% (not mentioned in-game). This could be deceiving due to the in-game skill definition.
Palamutes and Palicos you bring on the hunt increase your ease and efficiency and are best slotted with the best gear for your playstyle. Game8 has an excellent buddy guide that discusses end game builds.
Use the Basic behavior if you are running a melee focused buddy and Follow if you are using a ranged buddy. This is discussed thoroughly by CheaterMcCheat.
On solo hunts, don't let the common combo of 1 Palico and 1 Palamute mold you to run with that as there are several builds that utilize 2 Palicos or 2 Palamutes in one hunt. For example, you may want to use a double Palamute with C Jelly Travel Bag X weapon on the Best Equipment For Sunbreak (Ranged)segment. Accompanied with the Palamute Silkbinder, this build can provide excellent monster control.
Ordering Motley Mixes in the canteen nets you dango tickets as a reward. Claim it from the chef after some orders and use the tickets with hopping skewers on your harder hunts.
Latent Power skill is triggered by an internal timer upon monster encounter and attack animations and is explained here on Fextralife's wiki.
Auto-shoutouts are useful for your party and even yourself. You can program these auto shoutouts via OPT -> Multiplayer -> Chat Menu -> Triangle and click on the field under Text to program what you want to shout-out, choose the box under speech timing to choose the condition. These conditions aren't fixed and you have more to choose from. The most useful ones are the auto shoutouts for "When you set a trap" and "When a monster is limping" where the monster enters the blue icon state and is capturable if it is not an elder, apex or afflicted monster.
Weapon Specific Notes
Light Bowgun
Light Bowgun Basic Moves and Ammo Types credit to Phemeto
Pay attention to the color of your reticle. An orange reticle tells you that your ammo type is in its ideal range and will deal its intended damage. A yellow reticle means your shots will hit, but will be significantly weaker.
The Fanning Vault Silkbind skill is best used with your Wyvernblast special ammo. Press circle while you are directly under the monster to plant a bomb directly on it. You will be replacing this with the Switch Skill Fanning Maneuver for end game builds.
Ammo Details can be found by going to Items and Equipment (opt button) -> Equipment Info -> Ammo Details (square)
You will normally run out of your full magazine of your most desired ammo. To minimize returning to camp, bring the materials you need to craft that ammo and set it on your radial menu. Also, avoid bringing the ammo type you never use to keep your ammo menu as decluttered as possible for efficient ammo switching. It is encouraged to bind the ammo you use and their craft commands in your radial menu as well.
Recoil is the delay between firing shots (different from Reload delay). Lower recoil = Faster Attack Speed
Deviation is the drift of the bullets when you fire. If you have a weapon with deviation, it will travel center for a medium distance then swerve to the L or R depending on the strength of the deviation. Targeting "No deviation" is ideal.
Decorations can be crafted to reduce Reload, Recoil and Deviation.
Light Bowgun Weapon & Armor Skills
Bombardier skill does not work with any ammos, including sticky, cluster, or wyvernblast.
Normal/Rapid Up skill improves Normal Ammo damage by 5%/10%/20% and stacks with the skill
Rapid Fire Up which enhances rapid fire damage also by 5%/10%/20%
Great Sword
Recommended Switch Skills are Tackle, Rage Slash (RS), and Adamant Charged Slash (ACS). All three can tank monster attacks (no knockbacks) and negates roar effects. Tackle is the bread and butter during roars and quick monster attacks since its easy to trigger, You can use Adamant Charged Slash for positioning, and Rage Slash to land your last charged attack on your desired direction, which True Charged Slash Skill cant do.
How to Unlock:
Adamant Charged Slash - Unlocked by crafting/upgrading 8 different Greatswords, no duplicates. Replaces the Hunting Edge skill.
Rage Slash - Unlocked by completing the quest "Grasp the Greatsword" (HR5 Quest). Replaces the True Charged Slash skill.
