Luffy, Sanji, and King all thought Sanji was gonna take big damage or die from an attack dedicated to PIERCING your opponents (breaking through defenses) The panel was buried but Sanji took like nearly no damage from the attack and attributed the lack of damage from Kings attack to the Raid Suit The attack King used on Sanji was stronger than numerous other attacks he showed against Zoro and actually had more effort put behind it and again... Invisibility Sanji can go invisible by both SPEED AND ACTIVATION
Regeneration Sanji will have three layers of Armor but even if someone can manage to damage him good enough to where he has broken bones or gets his anatomy messed up, HE WILL JUST HEAL
Flight/Speed Sanji can Fly which is faster than Sky Walk in terms of travel (Depending on what you are trying to do) and takes much less effort but he can also use Skywalk which is just an other useful option to have
The only Offset (Potentially) The only offset I can see is Sanji cant use his Diable Jambe because his suit is heat proof but that is just speculation by me Regardless whether he can/cant use Diable Jambe he has enough power to take down Queen obvious enough considering his comments on how if he puts the suit on Queen would be easy to dispatch
Summary
Sanji is immune to Fire based attacks Sanji cant be damaged by individuals like KING THE WILDFIRE if King used ANY ATTACK You can only fight Sanji if you have Ryuo or durability negation You need to have Future Sight just to keep up with Sanji Sanji if he kept the Raid Suit is the fourth strongest individual in Wano after Kaido/Big Mom/Luffy

I see people swing by on this subreddit sometimes to give their hot takes before either being banned or fleeing in shame, and a common sentiment comes up. "The Monster fandom is pretentious." "You guys always talk down to us." "Monster fans think they're so much smarter than everyone else."

This doesn't mean that liking Monster makes you smart, or that all Monster fans are smart people.
Nor does it mean that not liking Monster makes you dumb, or that all Monster haters are dumb people.
What it does mean is that Monster at its foundation is a cerebral narrative, and is inherently going to be more attractive to people who like to think about what they're reading/watching. When I say "smart" in this context, I'm not even talking about someone's intellectual ceiling. What I'm really talking about is a person's willingness to engage in art on an insightful level. Someone whose idea of a brilliant time is watching Goku go bam is perhaps less likely to grasp some of the deeper themes behind Monster.
Which is fine, by the way. There are plenty of less erudite, more carnal, flashier series that I enjoy, too. I don't need everything to be a philosophical masterpiece, but I enjoy the ones that are. Some people don't prefer that kind of stuff, which is totally cool. You do you, dawg. I'm not here to make everyone an anime academic, prestigious a career as it may be.
But what grinds my gears is when people like that come in my goddamn turf and insist that I or anyone else is overthinking things just because they never saw it that way. I certainly wouldn't mind if they had a good argument for it, but instead it's generally a retort along the lines of, "jOhAn Be BaD bEcAuSe BaD pEoPlE BaD sTuFf" or, if they're especially lucid, "Nuh uh." At best, it's ignorance, and at worst, it's bad faith. If you are woefully unprepared to engage in a thematic discourse, maybe it would be best if you just didn't do that. Of course, if someone is just being introduced to such perspectives, that's a different thing entirely because said person is in the process of learning. I'm talking about the people who are anathema to learning and just come on here to start shit so they can feel a misguided sense of superiority, only to leave embarrassed with a very deserving feeling of inferiority.
I want to be perfectly clear, I think Monster should be accessible to anyone, and I'm not looking to gatekeep. I'm a big fan of works that are both deep and enriching, while also appealing on a more superficial or standardized level. I think Monster can be that for plenty of people. If the philosophical stuff went over your head and you just enjoy it as a thrillemystery, that's perfectly fine. Go wild.
All I'm asking is that if you're not into the philosophical stuff, maybe don't argue too much with the people who are, and then act like we're being pseudo-intellectuals because it's the only way you can process the humiliation you're feeling right now. No one asked you to get your ass beat in a Reddit argument about anime shit; you choose your own path. You're sure not gonna see me argue with one of these folks about who would win in a fight between Luffy and Ichigo if they had swords for eyes and the floor was lava, because I know my lane. Luffy can fight people of this level but he lacked haki at the time (and in Smoker case he literally counter DF users because he had seastone weapon) I know smoker beat Luffy rather quickly but I think Luffy is of this level and it makes sense considering what smoker said.

Anyways why do you actually scale Yonko>Admirals? Oda makes several groupings in the series to provide narrative insights, the most infamous of which is the fan named "Monster Trio," where he groups Luffy, Zoro and Sanji together as the strongest of the Strawhats. However, sometimes Zoro will be grouped with Luffy, while other times he'll be grouped with Sanji. This is one of the reasons why Zoro is considered the second strongest strawhat, because he's constantly fluctuating from being just barely stronger than Sanji to being just barely weaker than Luffy. While the gap between Luffy and Sanji also appears to grow and shrink at times, it's not nearly as much as the jump Zoro makes at times.
During the moments leading up to the iconic "Nothing Happened" scene, when trying to convince Kuma to take his head instead of Zoro's, Sanji says this...

Now, of course this could've just been him talking himself up to convince Kuma that he's more valuable than Zoro, but what if there was a little more to this?
There are several things in the series that only Luffy and Zoro get that Sanji doesn't
- Their opponents tend to return
- They're both considered Supernovas and part of the Worst Generation
- They're the only 2 to receive bounties (while on the crew's journey) before Enies Lobby

Back on Alabasta, the World Government updated Luffy's bounty and assigned one to Zoro despite Sanji doing more that arc (mainly because it was behind the scenes) and doing a comparable job to Zoro on the foreground

Here is probably the biggest one. Lucci and Kaku were invited to be members of CP0. This confirms that despite Kaku and Jabra being near equals, the World Government chose to only invite Kaku, suggesting they see Sanji's former opponent to not be as valuable as Zoro's former opponent. In their eyes, the man who fought Zoro is more to be feared than the man who fought Sanji
Time and time again, Sanji is shown to be less infamous than Zoro or Luffy. Even Sanji's main rival, Zoro, has been mistakened for the captain several times. Sanji hasn't displayed this level of terrifying aura and display of raw power yet. He's not as known by those around them and he definitely isn't as recognized by the World Government. But what if he did something massive? Now let's go back to Sanji's statement and dissect it a bit.

Here, Sanji openly admits that he's aware the marines don't think much of him, backing up what I mentioned earlier. But he also boldly states that he'll soon be the man the marines will fear the most. What could he possibly do to earn that level of infamy? Something that will worry the marines even more than Luffy invading all 3 of their main facilities?

...well, maybe if he became the first man to defeat a Navy Admiral.

Now, we know that come EOS, Zoro will have to fight Mihawk. I doubt anyone has doubts that Mihawk is easily a top tier fighter, sparring with Shanks then saying that he's not interesting to duel anymore after losing his arm, despite Shanks still being an Emperor of the sea and strong enough to fight Kaido off. Many people will disagree with what I'm about to say but Zoro and Sanji tend to remain relative. I know people don't like the idea of Sanji being around Mihawk's level because he's "just a cook and not the main fighter" but remember that Whitebeard wanted a family and became the strongest man in the world, powerful enough that the other emperors and even the navy feared him. Dreams /= power, and Oda wouldn't put so much effort to keep Zoro and Sanji relative for the past 20 years just to have Zoro become considerably stronger EOS. This wouldn't fit their rivalry and would make the arguing less funny if they were in different tiers. Feel free to disagree, this post still fits the idea of admiral level Sanji.

I do not know how it would happen. Maybe around the time Zoro fights Mihawk, the warlord system is abolished and seeing as an infamous pirate crew led by the "5th emperor of the sea" and the former strongest warlord and World's Strongest Swordsman are just chilling on an island, they send Kizaru over with a fleet of battle ships to apprehend them. Zoro and Mihawk pause their duel and Zoro puts his sword to Kizaru's neck before being paused by Luffy who says he'll handle him. Sanji then asks Luffy to sit back and alllow him to do it, and since Luffy has faith in his 2 wings he decides to let it happen and goes to handle the oncoming assault. Kizaru then attempts to kick Luffy but is intercepted by Sanji who says that he shouldn't take his eyes off him.

So they exchange blows and it's looking like neither will give in. However, Sanji eventually proves to be too much for Kizaru to handle, ultimately winning a decisive victory. As the Strawhats have a strict no killing policy, he hands Kizaru's unconcious body back to the navy fleets Luffy was handling at the coast. They stare in awe and hurry to report back to headquarters about the unbelievable truth of what happened. News spreads quickly that, for the first time in the history of the world, an admiral has fallen and by none other than Blackleg Sanji. His bounty will go through the roof afterwards, seeing one of the biggest jumps in the series. After this, the world knows Sanji's name, and he's as infamous as even Luffy for the historic action he's just done. Borsalino, known as Admiral Kizaru, has been defeated. One of the navy's greatest powers have fallen at the feet of Sanji.

What do you all think? This was just a fun theory I came up with and although I find it very cool I'm also aware that chances are this won't happen. Perhaps I read too much into Sanji's words, but this was all very fun and I hope you enjoyed reading it!

Now, ever since Egghead arc started (and even before) a lot of people has been stating that Bonney will join the strawhats and, in retrospective, i think there are some reasons that might actually support this. Personally, i didn't think of her as a much important character, but with the little clues i've been finding i think we might find her being the next addition to the crew by the next arcs.
Lets start:

• 1. Power Level:

We know due to her reward that she's a powerful character. By her debut time her reward was 140M Bellies, a quite high reward but not as big as Luffy's. Nowdays her reward is 320M, still an acceptable quantity that can show us her power level and ability.

• 2. Devil fruit:

As we could see in manga chapter 1072, though her DF seemed too much broken at first, we later learned that it's actually not that powerful, yet quite useful. Since her devil fruit doesnt last forever on living beings, it might actually not be too much of a problem against powerful enemies (final boss cathegory) yet very useful against minions and henchmen. Besides, as we could see in Stampede (even if not canon) that fruit was useless against Bullet, so even if powerful, it has its limitations.

Another thing is, and this is now my take coming from the number's theory, her DF's name. Oda is taking a lot to reveal it and i think its not coincidence he is having in mind someone came with the number's thing during SBS. A lot of people has argued that her fruit might be named the Toshi Toshi no Mi (yeaage fruit), but i dont think Oda will go with something that simple, wouldnt be the first time he can give a simpler name to a fruit but instead comes with an onomatopoeia or a thing related to the concept around that fruit.
And i believe her fruit's name will be written in goroawase using either 29 or 92. This being said, i have two options for its name:
- Jiko Jiko no mi (ageing ageing fruit). 時効 (Jikou) meaning aging in japanese and being written as 29 in goroawase. Also, Ji 爺 means ´elder´ while Ko 子 means 'child'.
- Koni Koni no Mi. I dont know if this has any meaning, but if you remember when she infiltrated in MaryGeoise, she pretended to be queen Connie (written in Japanese as コニ (92)), i think Oda left us a little clue there about her devil fruit's name.

Something great about her fruit too is that it can allow Oda to show in the crew with multiple designs, similarly to Chopper, being a sexy young woman, a cute little girl or a lovely ol lady.
Also, back to the numbers theory, some people have arged Nika already fills the 29 part. It does not. Even if its model Nika, its still a Hito Hito, so it stays as both Gomu (56) and Hito (110).

• 3. Ties with the Strawhats:

We can take her ties with the strawhats from even way before her debut, with Kuma's first appareance in Thriller Bark. Now that we know he's her father, he can give us plenty of reasons to tie her with them.
Let's not forget, Kuma not only tested Zoro's resolution by healing Luffy's pain and prove Zoro's loyalty to him, he also sent each of the strawhats to different locations where they could get stronger AND he protected the Thousand Sunny for TWO GODDAMN YEARS while they were gone.

I believe he has an ulterior motive to do this other than just Luffy being Dragon's son. Andi believe Bonney will travel with the strawhats and find out Kuma's reason for this further in the plot, maybe at some arc after egghead, if the Strawhats and the RA meets.
Now, talking from Bonney herself, she protected Zoro at Sabaody, preventing him from making a scene by slaying a Celestial Dragon, which could've been MUCH WORSE for the crew and all the presents than Luffy punching him in the face.

She's also helping the SH in Egghead, guiding Luffy and the others through the lab and stuff. Luffy Even learned her NAME! Like, her ACTUAL NAME! I mean, we had Law in the alliance ever since Punk Hazard and Luffy keeps calling him Tra-guy!

• 4. Enemies:

At this point, i think we can agree Bonney and the Strawhats have the same enemies: Akainu, Blackbeard and the Celestial Dragons.

They are the very reason her crew is gone to begin with! Which give her a good reason to join a group, since i don't think Sakazuki being as coldblooded as he is just let them live in a prison, that if BB didn't kill them all. Besides, we didnt see Bonney's crew getting that much interactions as Law's or Kid's, so i don't really think we'll see them again.
Speaking of Blackbeard, we still need a 10th nakama to face the 10 Titanic Captains, and as a personal opinion, i think she would be a perfect match for either Shot or Pizarro.
Personally, i see the match ups as:
Luffy VS BB, Zoro VS Shilew, Sanji VS Burguess, Nami VS Devon, Usopp VS Augur, Brook VS Laffitte, Fraky (using giant meka) VS Wolf, Robin VS Kuzan, and Jinbe VS either Shot or Pizarro.
Both are good match ups for her in my opinion, Pizarro being known as the "Corrupt King", just like her father is known as "The Tyrant", and having a power i think Bonney can counter with her DF. And Shot being the "Heavy Drinker" while Bonney being the "Glutton" and both having piercings.

• 5. Personality.

Bonney is rude, short-tembered, and a glutton. Theses are the qualities of both a Sukeban and a Bokuko, two anime female personality stereotypes we are lacking in the crew. Besides, as we've seen in egghead, these fit really well with the other crewmates. Some people might arge that having Luffy we dont need another glutton, but having two perverts (Sanji and Brook), two geeks (Chopper and Usopp), two mature, calmed ones (Robin and Jinbe) and two cowards (Nami and Usopp), i dont think this will be much of a problem. Besides, her entomophobia, as we've seen in egghead, can be quite the running gag if she joins.

• 6. Fighting style.

As we've seen in both canon and non-canon along the series, Bonney fighting style is mostly close combat. Unlike Nami and Robin, who just ocassionally use melee attacks, Bonney uses kicks and also smacks using her DF.

• 7. Role in the crew.

This is something many people bring up when it coems to new nakamas. They often forget some of them dont show what role can they do in the crew untill they officially join. Jinbe for example, we didn't know he was a helmaster untill Whole Cake.
As a personal opinion, i think she will be the crew's lookout. This being a tribute to Kuma guarding the Sunny during the timeskip.

• 8. Appareance.

Something i like about Bonney is that she has quite a distinctive appareance, with her piercing and makeup, she looks different enough from Nami and Robin to be easily identified. Some other former candidates for strawhats had kinda borring appareances, being a bit too similar to Nami, such as Vivi, Rebecca, even Yamato would be pretty a like if it wasnt for the horns and, kind of the eyelashes.

• 9. Background.

As we know, she has a traumatic childhood, probably. I mean, when Oda did the dawings of the Supernovas as kids, she was in such a poor state, probably grew in poberty. We still need to know more about her past, but i think they'll safe that for after egghead and gove more focus to Kuma currently. Still, losing her father to the world goverment and having him turned into a mindless weapong feels quite traumatic enough.

• 10. Inheritted will and Dream.

Remember i told you Kuma might have an ulterior motive to help the mugiwaras before? I think that will be Bonney's Inheritted will.
We still dont know if she has a dream, probably does but we wont find out untill incoming arcs, whatever it is, im sure Kuma knew and thats why he's keeping something from her past secret from him, and whatever it is, when she finds out, she'll officially join the Strawhats after she has dealt with Kuma's thing.

Summary/TL;DR

Punk Hazard is a great arc to introduce the audience into the cruel reality of life in the New World. Weapons of mass destruction, shady underworld dealings, there's a lot going on in the saga in general. Unfortunately, Oda's inability to come through on killing even the most miniscule of characters ruined what the arc managed to build up over its storyline. While I don't think fake out deaths instantly ruin an entire arc on principle, having an entire arc focused on this deadly gas just for the gas to be fixed by smashing them on the ground was an incredibly lackluster conclusion to a very dark arc. A strange choice in contrast to Film Z which maintained being dark throughout the entire movie.

Foreword

I've been reading the manga weekly since Zou, but I've been trying to watch every piece of animated One Piece content before catching up to see how the anime has developed over time. My interest in how the current anime is being used and incorporating a bunch of stuff that isn't in the manga with a much higher quality level made me want to watch weekly, but I didn't want to just jump into the current anime. So I'm watching everything; movies, filler, specials, basically anything that's on MyAnimeList and that I can find online. Been an enjoyable experience, which you can read about in the previous threads:

Anime Arcs

Z's Ambition Arc

Thankfully the movie is much better than the filler arc introducing it.
This arc was honestly really boring. As far as I know Film Z is one of the most popular movies from the fans, so I don't expect it to reflect on the movie itself. But I felt like I got nothing out of this arc having watched through it. Little East Blue had a couple funny moments, but outside of Momonga being in this arc I feel like in a week I won't even remember what happened. And why'd they have to make my boy Momonga sweat an early post timeskip Zoro? Use one of the lame Vice Admirals like... Doberman or something. Not the living legend. Villain was pretty lame too, albeit he gets credit for at least making Luffy work a little. Overall this arc is going way down near the bottom.
Toriko Crossover

But can he beat Goku?
3 of the most iconic characters in the entire genre. Son Goku, the grandfather of shonen anime and probably the most beloved anime character to ever exist. Monkey D. Luffy, the main character of the most popular manga of all time whose journey has been followed closely for over 25 years as he searches for one of the biggest mysteries in the history of fiction. And Toriko.
Anyway, this was definitely the best episode of the 3. Some fun action throughout and I think the interactions were a lot more interesting as a crossover than the other two (granted I didn't watch the Toriko half of the last two episodes). Of course Mr. Satan wins the tournament because that man walked so Buggy could run. And it was nice seeing all the characters give Goku energy for a Spirit Bomb. Feel like the DBZ stuff definitely carried this crossover and everybody else just followed behind, but no issue with that.

Legacy of Lil Bro begins
It's very weird watching Punk Hazard as somebody done with Wano, cause it really is a whole sequence of events leading to the eventual end of that arc. But it's such a long journey that you really do forget stuff, just naturally. One of the things that I totally forgot about was that Sanji was completely responsible for saving Kinemon two times. He saved the head and decided to bring him along, and then he saved the torso from out of the water (in Nami's body). Unless I'm forgetting something (and it's totally possible I am), I don't think they ever made a call back to this in Wano. Sanji kept telling Kinemon multiple times "I'm responsible for you" because he felt like he's the one who brought him on this journey. Not to get into how everybody feels about what happened to Kinemon in Wano (because there will be time for that), I think it would have been a really cool call back if Sanji saved him instead. Can't blame Oda for not doing it, it certainly would have flown over my head if he did, but just something I noticed immediately as far as Wano callbacks. Kinemon and Momo's reactions to being fed were also great, even if it takes years for that to actually pan out.
The music this arc was awesome. I love Caesar's theme, and they did a great job using some old tracks at just the right time. Like when Mocha ate all the candy, they played a bunch of Drum Island songs. Really felt like a big deal for Chopper as a character, which I enjoyed. There were some other lower key great Straw Hat moments in this arc that I feel like get lost in the shuffle. Usopp's speech to Caesar's subordinates about disrespecting his captain was great, and Franky was popping off outside against Baby 5 and Buffalo. If that fight was tougher I feel like people would bring it up way more as a great Franky moment, but it was kinda easy. Still cool to see Franky Shogun in action. And of course all the stuff with Nami and the kids were great. But my favorite moment was definitely the end when she entrusted them to Tashigi. When she said she has a thing for navy women with kind eyes my heart melted. Luffy's anger against Caesar for what he did to Brownbeard and the kids was also very apparent, and I loved what they added with him using Conqueror's on the guards to look for Caesar when he made it out of the trash chute with Momo, really did feel the big brothelittle brother relationship starting to form already. I think they did a great job of showing how much he was getting under Luffy's skin despite not really being anywhere near the toughest fight Luffy has ever had.
Onto the bad. Oda... why the fuck do you make Sanji such a creep? Sanji is the friend where everybody is joking and then he says the thing that makes everybody stare at him because he made it weird going one step too far. It sucks because there were actual funny moments to the gag of him being in Nami's body. Like when he was jogging talking about how heavy her chest was, I thought that was funny. But when Brook asked to see her panties and he said "YEAH LET'S TAKE PICTURES"... bro... why? Ewww. And the fake out deaths, oh my god they're so bad in this arc. I didn't even remember that Kinemon was a double fake out champ, the Will of P lives on in Punk Hazard.
I'm not going to claim that fake out deaths ruin an arc on principle, I don't believe that. It definitely hurts an arc depending on how major of a fake out it is, but I don't think a fake death inherently ruins the entirety of an arc just for existing. That is NOT the case with Punk Hazard. The entire threat of this arc is that Shinokuni is going to kill them. That is the entire reason they are running and the entire reason they are converging into the building. Most of the tension in this arc is based on the premise of this gas killing them. And the solution to getting past it is just... knock them over and break them and they're fine. Are you serious?! Legitimately one of the dumbest reasons Oda has given for a fake out (at least top 5), and that's saying something. Stuff like the G-5 agents all throwing Tashigi ahead mean absolutely nothing cause it didn't even matter. I'll counter it by comparing with what happened to Mocha. I thought Mocha eating the candy and seeing how Chopper reacted was super emotional, and her somehow ending up completely fine despite essentially OD'ing is certainly a stretch. But at least in the case of that there's a great Chopper moment and he actually does something to help her out of it. Why not just have Chopper create some sort of counter and give him the moment of saving everybody (similar to the Ice Oni Stuff in Wano)? That would have at least been a character based reason, instead of this dumb shit about just knocking them over and breaking them. Which by the complete miracle of plot conveneince works nothing like Aokiji or Boa's powers where if you break them they just die.
Just such a deflating conclusion to an arc that really felt like an introduction into life in the New World. And to contrast it with Film Z's ending as an intro into this saga, it's really night and day that the movie could stick with something dark and impactful while Oda couldn't do the same with the actual story.
Caesar Retrieval Arc

The future Pirate King and Monkey D. Luffy, reunited again.
Luffy vs a submissive and breedable opponent, I don't know I think that's what the arc was about. Kung Fu Dugongs are back though! This is such a weird filler arc, but honestly... didn't hate it. Super weird. Like Naruto level filler weird. But it didn't overstay its welcome. And I feel like the Dugongs are cute enough characters that you just roll with it. Yes the Dugong learned monstrous Haki over the timeskip and created a crew worthy of being Pirate King, what's the confusing part? Everybody saw this coming. Frankly I want to see the dugong on Laugh Tale with his crew, dude is a beast. Villain was fine too for a 3 episode filler.

Movies

Film Z

Seeing certain pictures and gifs for years and then finally watching them in context is a weird experience.
Very entertaining movie. You can definitely see the shift towards the One Piece movies just throwing in a bunch of character concepts before they're introduced in the manga, like Aokiji's battle scars. But I don't think that's inherently a bad thing. Speaking of inherently bad things... wow the Sanji scene with young Nami was so much worse than I knew. Like I had heard about the scene but never watched it myself... wow. And then he wanted to go to the hot springs with them after... wow. Zoro even called him gross for it... yeah whoever wrote that hates Sanji.
Moving along. On an individual basis for the movie itself, Zephyr was an awesome character. Pretty much made the movie. His backstory was tragic and all of the final fights were some of the best animated in One Piece up to this point. Luffy vs Zephyr was intense, felt like I was watching Naruto and Sasuke beat the shit out of each other at the end of the series. No powers, just hands. Like they both said at the end, that was just fun. Even if the battle was just over Luffy's hat and a bit of pride, it was still enjoyable to watch because of how interesting of a character Zephyr was. His goal as extreme but not mustache twirly extreme, so ending it by essentially showing why he's a good dude at heart really tied the whole thing together.

Episode of Luffy

Finally get the true story animated
The refresh on Luffy's backstory and telling the full details of Chapter 1 was great to see. It was such a long stretch of flashback you honestly forget there's supposed to be an actual plot to the movie besides the Shanks stuff. Seeing Koby again was nice too, I really enjoyed his role in the story ignoring the flashback. The artisan with the statues was a welcome addition too, it didn't feel like a forced storyline just to tell Luffy's story. That being said, the villain was just not that interesting. He wasn't unbearable by any means and I was interested in why Kizaru of all Admirals was his idol, but that was about as far as the interest went there. Still a decent special given how long the flashbacks were and the cool artisan, but I could do without the villain.
Also the little fashion show at the beginning of the movie was incredibly cute.
Episode of Merry

Merry still lives on
This is a straight up 10/10. I love the entire concept of the special. Brook is the only person in the crew at this point in the story that never met Merry, so telling him the entire story as a means of a recap is super clever. Obviously in a 1 hour 45 minute special they're going to breeze through certain topics, but for somebody who is just looking for a refresh on the story they did such a great job with this. The Usopp vs Luffy fight is even better than I remember, it seemed like they added a lot to the original fight. And getting all the Enies Lobby fights in even higher definition was cool. This is one of the best concepts I've seen for an anime recap, definitely an enjoyable watch. I also like how they're stacking the story up in the current storyline. Z's Ambition leads directly into this (Nami is wearing the same dress) which leads directly into Glorious Island which leads directly into Film Z.

Look, we both know why we're here.
Watching the crew just hang out on the ship was fun, and Brook vibing in the pool with his floaty tube was relaxing. The boys all hanging out imagining a great feast truly spoke to my soul. This is a must watch for any One Piece fan. A timely 10 minute OVA that was thoughtfully crafted with the fanbase in mind, being cautious not to overexert the audience.
Ok let's be real here, this OVA is just an excuse to look at Nami and Robin ass. And I didn't need an excuse! Thank you Toei for gifting us this piece of art, I'm glad that this is a thing that now forever exists. Truly as glorious as the title suggested.

ONAs

Surprisingly good stop motion animations.
So these were stop motion animations that were released by a toy company coming out with different figures. And the intention was for fans to be able to do the same, giving them different faces in a kit to make animations of their own. Honestly for as weird as this entry is even being on the list, honestly these were pretty good. The 3 "episodes they had" were Chopper meeting Hiriluk, the ASL flashback, and Ace dying at Marineford. Pretty professionally done for what is essentially a toy commercial.

So I'll just breakdown the episode from the part where Queen turns invisible because I can't stomach watching more of this episode and that was where the most impactful/key moments happened in the manga.

Sanji going invisible

Completely ruined. Reading the manga, I had no idea that Sanji went invisible this episode. They did not even TRY with this scene.
In the manga, Sanji goes invisible to both Queen AND the reader. That's very important distinction. Oda specifically made a panel where it shows to the reader that the hall is silent with no one visible. The reader cannot see nor hear Sanji.
SFX literally means silence
Meanwhile in the anime- Sanji is just as visible as he always have been, making loud, teleporting dbz sound effects all over the place. There's no comparison for the watcher to see how fast Sanji is moving.
Sanji going invisible was very important manga event because that's the greatest speed feat that happened to Sanji and manga as a whole:

I was baffled when I saw this.
The whole point of Sanji going invisible is that he CANNOT stop: -If he stops he becomes visible for Queen. -If he stops Queen will catch up to Osome and kill her. -If he stops his attack will not hit as hard.

With this speed Sanji was accelerating in order for his attack to hit harder:

Sanji fainted at the end of the fight because he did not stop moving invisible speed and was exhausted from moving this fast:

Anime completely destroyed the whole point of going invisible.

Queen not taking damage

Ifrit Jambe had no impact whatsoever.
After getting hit by all of Sanji's Ifrit combo attacks, Queen gets up fine, with no damage and starts laughing and talking....
no sign of damage whatsoever. In fact, he looks HEALTHIER lol
... How can anyone defend this episode? They made Ifrit Jambe look WEAKER than diable jambe.

Meanwhile in the manga this was Queen's end. After getting hit by 1 Ifrit Jambe Queen could not stand up and then Sanji was just beating down on him with combo attacks because he made Sanji angry:

Just.... terrible.

Boeuf burst

This is the kick in the anime:

.... That's right, it's 1 singular simple kick that you don't even see fully.
Meanwhile in the manga, it's a barrage of kicks:

Do you see those burst bubbles? Those mean Queen was kicked multiple times, just like Luffy's G2 gattling.
In fact, this attack is an upgraded version of mouton shot that Sanji finished Kuroobi with:

But all we get is a single, simple kick that we barely see...

Queen flying out of Onigashima

They even ruined something as simple as this.
In the manga, Queen is kicked UPWARDS, MILES away from Onigashima, with no sign of beginning to fall:

This supposed to show Sanji's new RAW physical strength he obtained, that now he can easily make someone as as large and heavy as Queen get sent flying miles away upwards.
What did anime do?
Replace the shot with far away view and make Queen start falling BEFORE even reaching the edge of Onigashima
Also they made Queen getting kicked from the wrong side of Onigashima lol, that's where Zoro and King are fighting

Summary

MANGA Sanji- super fast, super strong.
ANIME Sanji- super slow, super weak, ifrit jambe does no damage.
For me, it's one of the worst episodes I have ever witnessed watching out of any other anime adaptations.

If the opponent isn't old, sick, or foddder, never bet on Akainu in a 1 on 1. And no, he isn't an EOS opponent for Luffy
