Gyms in madinat Zayed
2023.06.08 16:43 Hardrants101 Gyms in madinat Zayed
hi guys,
I need gym recommendations in near madinat Zayed area.
I would prefer gyms which are bigger in size with a lot of good space and go to clean.
I am going to bicycle to the gym and hands. I wanted within 10 minutes or so from Medeor Hospital.
please give me some good recommendations. I am checking Google maps, but nothing much so far.
A lot of the gyms are very small and really not very clean and well-maintained or even ventilated.

2023.06.08 16:41 D_Fens1222 A scrubs journey part II...
... Humble beginnings.
So last time i left off with with the end of my journey in SF5. A good 300 hours ingame, a good 850 ranked matches with a W/L ratio of about 42 % and ranked in super Bronze.
The journey into SF6 started even more humble than it ended in SF5. Prior to hoping into my placement matches i gave my man Ken two 5 stage runs through arcade and then i couldn't contain myself and jumped into ranked. No labbing, a quick check if my BnB still works: well kinda my main target combo now starts with regular stMP that's fine but i can't link into it from crMP anymore... bummer. Well i have to work with stMP then.
So i went into my placement matches and... Fuck my life: Marisa.
Ken and i are still working through the trauma, but there was hope. I finished my placement matches 4/6 and was placed in rookie... bummer.
After a few matches and some adjustment and getting used to the flow of SF6 i finished the session ending up 2 stars in Iron and tried not to get too frustrated. I somehow managed to keep it at about 50% W/L ratio with quite some stones in the way. My BnB punish was still working but my timing was way off, so i hardly managed to punish anything. Got a few jump ins into target combo into ex tatsu and landed some supers after DI, but there was a lot to unpack to get into this game. So it was time to hit the lab.
In the meantime i found out that now instead of crMP, crLP links into Chin Buster: nice. But i absolutely didn't manage the timing to get the link: bummer. So for the meantime bare bones chinbuster had to do.
Also instead of the tatsu i now want to use DPs as combo ender, since that gets me almost as much damage as the ex tatsu without using meter.
I mean just use the same combo just with another ender right? Right? Nope, what was easy against the dummy didn't work out what so ever against even the CPU even when i was just fishing for that combo, dropped it propably about 95 % of the time.
So here's a lesson i learned the hard way in SF5 (albeit much to late, for it to pay of in 5): practice against the dummy ain't doing nothing. I had the muscle memory with some quirks here and there but it's not the execution that is the problem, but that i am shit at confirming.
So this where i am now: I am still getting used to the new mechanics which means A: i have to train new muscle memory, at the moment mainly drive parry and DI. B: i really need to do DI drills.
I've started doing this today and it slowly starts showing, i am on aracde stick and have mapped DI to LB which is the right most button of the top row. After some experimentation i found it best for parry to just use my index and middle finger for the buttons. My fingers are less fumbling and it slowly starts to feel natural.
Finally the link from crLP starts to sink in and while having to relearn that is a bit annoying but i am thankfull for it since in the long run the extra frame will come in handy when it comes to using that combo. Also the hit confirms from stMP are getting more consistent thanks to some old fashioned random guard practice.
I am also currently practicing to cancell crMK into Jinrai kick. Jinrai kick seems like a really nasty mix up tool and i want to be able to use it properly.
So at the moment it's lots of raw execution practice, random guard practice and to practice my confirms further i like to set the to either a punishable move, or just a jump in in one slot and the DI in another. So i can practice my BnB more reaction and to also watch out for and react to DI.
Man there's a lot to learn and i am not even scratching the surface yet.

2023.06.08 16:37 Nerevarine87 Internet keeps cutting out for short periods and Xfinity can't seem to solve the issue
So my internet (Xfinity from Comcast) for the last week or so will randomly go out throughout the day. When it goes out it seems to come back on after 1 - 2 minutes. If I happen to be at my PC (windows 10) I'll "Troubleshoot problems" using the network icon and usually it resets the ethernet adaptor and it works again.
When it cuts out, it completely cuts out. Online games kick me out, streaming stops, webpages won't load, etc.
It's worth noting that this is happening to my entire household internet, wired
and wifi. The modem connection lights cut out.
It's also worth noting that my mom lives in the same building and has Xfinity as well but has not had issues this week.
I've had this service for 5 years and the modem for just as long and this is the first time this has started happening.
I've tried restarting the modem (unplug, wait 30 seconds, re-plug) multiple times.
I've also checked the outage map and that looks good.
I've chatted with Xfinity agents 4 times and they've all assured me they fixed the issue only to have it happen again. When I asked the last 2 agents what the issue was, one said it was "a glitch in the cable" and the other said my modem needed to be "refreshed" from time to time and that they did that via a signal.
I don't know much about network stuff so, I don't know what's going on. I thought maybe my modem needs to be replaced but I don't want to buy a new one if the issue is something else.
Any ideas?

2023.06.08 16:27 mnimum-viable-player Where are all the walkable, bikeable, diverse cities with lofts?
I'm in NY right now and it checks a lot of the boxes I want but the real estate is unsustainable and I'm sick of the vibe. I just want a space big enough for a bedroom, office, and small outdoor space without having to spend $4500 in rent or $800k to own. I have good steady income so mid to HCOL is fine, but NY just seems like it's on a completely different level of expensive now. I know it's impossible to do "New York but better" in the states, but I wonder if there's anything that checks these boxes:
Must have
- In or near mid-to-large city: I'm fully remote so I don't need to be near any HQ city, but being close to a some vibrance is good for me. I need people, shops, boutiques, performance and sports venues, or I'll go crazy. Bonus for robust transit system, baseball and basketball teams.
- Diversity/culture: I like seeing different faces, experiencing different micro-cultures, eating different foods. One of my problems with being in the north eastern cities is that often the default activity is drinking. I like a drink, but I don't want that to be the identifying culture of the place I live.
- Walkability / neighborhood vibe: Nothing is as walkable as NY in the states. But at least having neighborhoods that I can explore, even if there's a distance between them. Bonus if I can walk or bike through different residential areas without getting dirty looks or harassed.
- Cycling infrastructure: Cycling would be my main form of transportation. Would like to avoid owning a car, or owning one and driving it infrequently. Being able to bike from A to B for social events or errands is a major W. There's no place in the states that has a cycling culture, but if there was I'd be there in an instant.
Nice to have
- Near nature / water: I like a good hike or a contemplative moment overlooking a body of water, not necessarily a beach. Being a short bike ride to a river or lakefront park is huge.
- Industrial loft inventory: I have a weird thing for lofts. I would like to live in one without breaking the bank. And I don't mean those newly build loft style condos, but a converted factory type thing.
- Near a good airport: I like to travel. I do a handful of domestic trips and an international trip every year. Being near a far reaching and reliable airport is an excellent nice to have.
- Weather: I generally prefer mild weather. I think a lot of people will tell me Chicago is where I should be based on my preferences, but straight up I'm not built for Chicago winters.
My ideal cities are something like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Paris, Copenhagen. I would probably try relocating to Netherlands to if I didn't have to be in the states to work.
After writing all this out I feel like it's an incredibly short list that includes Chicago, parts of California, and maybe Atlanta but maybe there's a city I haven't considered that checks some of these boxes.

2023.06.08 16:24 cubbsfann1 Thai Food Fest In Wrigley
I’m not at all affiliated but I was just walking and saw this was happening this weekend as well so I thought I’d mention it.
Chicago Thai Food Fest is happening on Saturday (and Sunday) from 10am-9pm in the parking lot of Thorek Hospital (851 W Irving Park Rd) and will have a bunch of vendors selling Thai street food and drinks plus performances. Only a 10 minute walk from Wrigley and a 4 minute walk from the Sheridan Red Line stop.
If you’d rather not do a crowded bar before the show and are looking for something different this may be a good choice while supporting community organizations and local restaurants.

I live in the area near those Co-Ops, and I see a lot of Teslas, or at least more than I would expect. Where is everyone charging their Teslas?
A search on Google Maps brings up chargers in the Skyview parking lot and another parking garage near there, but I just doubt that everyone is going to just those couple of chargers

The word Boron pops up in my head although I have no justification for it. There also might have been a suicide?? I read it in middle school, and think it was pretty short. 2023.06.08 15:52 stajets Things that make a private jet different from a commercial plane
Read this guide to understand the top differences between a
private jet charter and a commercial plane.
Private jet Charter in New York City (NYC) is the ultimate when it comes to tailored air travel. Whilst a luxury travel experience is part of the appeal, it is the personalization and flexibility that drives most people to fly privately. Sometimes, people are unclear about how private flights differ from commercial airlines. So, we will illustrate some of the things you can do when you fly privately that you cannot do when you take a commercial flight.
You can take off when you want Commercial airlines have fixed departure times and you have to adhere to their schedule. If you come late, you will be left behind. However, on a private jet, whether you want to take off early to meet with someone or fly back late to avoid the overnight stay, the private jet will adjust to your itinerary.
Park outside and drive up to the steps A lot of people care about their security. Some of these people include celebs, key witnesses, businessmen and politicians. They, therefore, find it safe to drive to the steps of the aircraft and immediately get into the plane. Also, physically disabled people might not be able to work long distances to board the jet. They prefer being taken to the steps. There is no need for time-consuming transfers from the car park when you use a private jet. You can just park your vehicle outside the aircraft if your
private jet charter allows it.
Meet your crew Whilst the cockpit door is usually kept locked on commercial airline flights, on a private jet, you are welcomed onboard by your crew and captain. You are also welcome to talk to the crew during the flight. You can even visit the flight deck.
You will be able to fly into more remote places Commercial airline schedules are designed according to demand. There are a lot of airports that you will never know of when flying commercially. However, when you fly privately, you will be able to choose where to land and this means that smaller airports and remote spots such as mountain runways or islands can be accessed by private jets.
Experience no airport delays and lengthy queues Keep in mind that airports are synonymous with lengthy waiting times and long queues. That is why you should check in at least 2 hours before most commercial airline flights. But for private jets, the terminal at the airport offers a different experience. After seamless security checks, you will move through very quickly and board within fifteen minutes of your arrival.
You can carry your pets to the cabin You do not have to let your pet travel in a crate in the hold when you can carry it to the cabin of a private jet. This lessens the stress of travel for both the owner and the pet.
Choose who to share with It can be a lot of luck who you share the cabin with when you use a commercial flight. On the other hand, you will choose who to travel with when using a
private jet charter NYC. submitted by

2023.06.08 15:50 Moist-Implement-600 White knuckle thrill rides and smooth sailin'
First, I love this community.
Second, there's really no point to this. I just wanted to share since the girlfriend doesn't quite get it and my dogs have no idea what I'm talking about.
I bought this game because it looked like fun, was immediately overwhelmed, and went back to World of Warcraft. I started visiting this sub and watched some misadventures, checked out some amazing builds, and got a better feel for what to do beyond panicking over greydwarves.
Last week, I decided to establish a permanent base and got to planning. I made sure to add some components I saw commonly used in this sub. I found (on foot) a nice, relatively flat area in the meadows, near both a black forest and mountain biome (I know the mountains are far off but the scenery in the background will be amazing once i knock down some trees). Even better, I was a quick 15 second run to the ocean.
I returned to my prior base to load up the karve with the essentials and set sail to establish my new domain. To my absolute delight, I found the body of water near the new location was a large, natural harbor. Internally squeeling at the potential for a future project, I hop off and start unloading.
A small house goes up, some torches thrown around, I map out the potential I see for the future Fort Cowabunga. Too excited, I jump between clearing nearby forests for wood and digging a moat. The moat gets deep enough, relieved I had just enough wood to build stairs to get out (another lesson learned). I look at my progress. The ground isnt entirely flat. My moat isn't entirely even. Rocks and stumps surrounding the moat that will need to be cleared for a future road system. But it is mine, and I will farm it and I will protect it.
A new, 5x7 tile house goes up, fire place is almost in working order, the roof is 30% done and the forest starts moving, in the rain. I yank out my bow and watch as greydwarves and a brute slip into my moat, a great success. Cackling, I make it rain sweet sweet arrows, I feel untouchable. The raid ends, the sun comes out, and I build my fence, two bridges to the base with fancy double door entrances. Feeling accomplished without realizing the true success of the night.
Back to the ore grind, I zip over to the black forest. Boom, biggest copper vein I've ever seen. Even better, a burial chamber about 50 yards north. Clear the chamber like I'm evicting some squatters, I find the last 2 surtling cores I need to have a kiln AND smelter. More treasure, about 34 golden mushrooms.
Back to the copper, I get swinging. 34 ore in my pack and it's too much so I throw my first cart together. It eventually has about 53 copper and 8 tin ores in it. Thinking it's time to log, I start heading back and decide to load up on some core wood. As I'm chopping, a troll pokes his nose out at me and I decide to test the base.
I grab the cart and start kiting the big blue baby back home. I lost a single set of steps leading to a bridge at my main entrance as i kill my 3rd troll of my valheim career. Also ending what is now the most fruitful resource collecting excursion I have ever had, by a lot.
Kiln and smelter go up, get fully loaded and i pause for a good five to ten minutes, walking through my new impenetrable fortress. Just as I'm about to log off, I pick up some copper bars and walk to the chest near my forge. As it opens, I see the 3 queen bees I brought from the old base.
I close the game, turn off my PC, and look to the dog laying next to me. "Sullyboy!" I say, "pupaw's making mead soon!" Unimpressed, he saunters off to bed. I get in bed, everyone's asleep, and all I can think about is mead brewing while I build myself a dock in the days to come.

I cosleep with my six month old, I’m talking contact naps and all night. She refuses to sleep alone. A lot of nursing happening as well. My husband does not sleep in bed with us. I have a bachelorette party (I’m the maid of honor) in three weeks. It is thirty minutes away from my house, I will be gone for 24 hours. My husband will stay home with my oldest and my mom is taking the baby to stay at her house. Help. I’m not ready to sleep train yet, I did with my oldest at 10 months and do not regret that at all but 6 months seems so young and I don’t feel ready. However I’m nervous about my mom cosleeping with the baby, or even just being away from her that much. Any advise to help my mom? Tips to feed her at night? Thanks in advance!

2023.06.08 15:25 LlllllLllllL1L A small guide to ratting ranked in Diamond+ in Season 17
Let's face it, ratting is a work of art and it's not always that easy but if you do it right, it can be very fun! It's like playing hide and seek with some chase mixed in to it. You can even get to Predator from any rank once you master the skill of staying still. I have to say upfront that I think that the ranked system was the best when getting to even top 5 without kills in Diamond+ didn't put you in positive LP, but it is what it is - it's rat season.
To get you started, here are some tips to be a good rat:
- Play Valkyre, use the Midnight skin to cosplay as a rat. Set a key to toggle crouching.
- Name yourself accordingly, if you plan to rat from start, let your teammates know about it. If your teammates don't want you to rat, try to play with them.
- Always land solo and land as the last person in the end, this way you can see where the ring is and slowly glide to a spot where you can AFK easily for 6+ minutes.
- Do not use locations from Youtube, they are constantly checked. It's easy and fun to find your own spots. Some can be really interesting and broken.
- Do not use low ground positions that are visible from an open field. Even if they seem good and tight, they get scanned by snipers a lot, not so much in high ground.
- Do not go through high traffic spots such as fragment in World's Edge even if it's covered with the ring. Very often teams observe that area outside the ring or have extended fights inside the ring.
- Try to pick up some weapons and meds in start, you might have to shoot sometimes back to avoid a push or to heal the ring.
- If you get scanned, check from the map where the scan location was. If it's close, you have to move to a new spot.
- Don't shoot unless you have to fight to death against another rat. If it's a full squad always run. Getting kills will not increase your LP almost at all, so unless it's fighting for a spot in the top ranks, it's not worth it to shoot at all.
- If you have to go through a risky choke, then during ring 1 and 2 you can stay inside the ring for a while, potentially by even crafting meds and then ulting out of there.
- If your next ring is around a choke, then you might want to go through early, as teams will be camping the choke a lot of times.
- Using your ultimate in top 4 will get you killed most of the time, but it can also save you by being in the sky while the last squads are fighting, the decision is up to you. Using your ultimate as little is possible is a good idea at all stages of the game.
- If your teammates are alive in the end and you were solo ratting the whole time, do your best to win together without ratting as it's your best chance of getting the most LP.
- Getting top 3 with no items will get you more points than top 5 with 6 kills, so again, try to go for the highest rank no matter what.
Good luck and see you in the Top 750!

2023.06.08 14:58 CaspianX2 Nintendo Switch Online June 2023 Releases for Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and Game Boy - Review
Nintendo Switch Online June 2023 Releases for Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and Game Boy - Review
.
Review:
I'll start by saying that this isn't going to be a normal review. Much as with my collective reviews of the games on the
Nintendo Entertainment System App,
Super Nintendo Entertainment System App, and
Game Boy App, I'm not including a review score at the end, for much the same reason I opted not to do so for those. However, since this is a significant release, I still wanted to give people an idea of what to expect of these games:
Nintendo Entertainment System App
Game | Genre | # of Players | Score | tl;dr |
Mystery Tower | Puzzle-Platformer | 1 | C+ | Previously never released outside of Japan, this Puzzle-Platformer has a tricky mechanic that only lets you flip the direction of blocks you're carrying when you're holding it and change directions (Hint: swap things around by putting blocks on half-steps). It's a bit clunky and slow-paced, but the puzzles here are clever enough to be worth a look for fans of the genre. |
Super Nintendo Entertainment System App
Game | Genre | # of Players | Score | tl;dr |
Harvest Moon | Management Simulation | 1 | C- | This is the first game in both the Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons franchises due to the odd history of copyright and ownership those two franchises share. The core elements of what this series would become are all in place here, but everything is quite primitive – the visuals and soundtrack are unimpressive, the variety of activities and different plants you can work with are extremely limited, and the game doesn't even have menus or item descriptions. This makes for a fascinating look back at the birth of the “Farming RPG” subgenre, but it's woefully outdated by today's standards. |
Game Boy App
Game | Genre | # of Players | Score | tl;dr |
Kirby Tilt ‘N’ Tumble | Arcade / Misc. | 1 | B | This marks the first time that this game has ever been released outside of its original platform, the Game Boy Color, with the Nintendo Switch's gyroscopic motion controls being used for the game's original tilt sensor controls. Those controls are gimmicky and somewhat unwieldy, but this game makes up for it with fun level design, a lot of variety, plenty of creativity, and a ton of charm. As long as you can get past this game's controls, you'll probably enjoy this game. |
Blaster Master: Enemy Below | Metroidvania / Top-Down Action | 1 | C+ | This is a competent sequel to Master Blaster, but without a map the limited screen size and repetitive environments really makes exploration a pain. Still, fans of the original may enjoy this. |
Once again, out of this entire group, Kirby is the clear highlight. This the first time Kirby's Tilt 'N' Tumble has been ported off of its original platform, making this a rare treat. But in addition to that, this is a fairly unique and original game that doesn't play quite like anything on Nintendo Switch. It's not going to be for everyone – gimmicky motion controls ensure that some will bounce off of this one in disgust. However, if those controls don't exasperate you, I think you'll find this to be a real standout here.
And while the other games all rate in the C-range for me, I do believe they all have something to offer. Harvest Moon is primitive compared to the likes of Stardew Valley, but if you haven't played Stardew and want a taste of that genre, this will be a good indication. Blaster Master: Enemy Below is a solid sequel in this Metroidvania series that just suffers a few problems that tie back to the game's age and platform of origin. And Mystery Tower is a decent (though not great) Puzzle-Platformer previously unreleased in the West. Even though I think that all of these titles are middling on their own, they each have a niche, and cover a wide variety of genres, so I feel like there's going to be a little something for everyone here.
So not the best month ever for game releases on Nintendo Switch Online's legacy apps, but a pretty decent one, all things considered.
tl;dr – Nintendo Switch Online gets four new games across three different platforms in this month's selections. The highlight here is clearly Kirby Tilt 'N' Tumble, but I believe that all of the games in this month's addition have a niche, meaning there's probably something here for everyone. Grade: N/A

2023.06.08 14:57 alicia-jo Hollywood Studios After Hours
Did HS AH last night and think it was really worth it.
Got into the park at 7pm, had an Ogas reservation for 7:35. After Ogas did some shopping and went to docking bay 7. Food was ok but not great. Fantasmic was going so went on MMRR for a ten minute wait. Walked to ToT right as Fantasmic was ending and had a walk on, our elevator only had two rows filled. Felt like the ride was longer than normal.
It’s now after 9 so went to slinky dogs, had a wall of CM checking bracelets right after turning a corner so that was unexpected. Slinky dog was 15 minutes from start to finish. Got our free popcorn, water, and ice cream bars and sat for a few.
Walked to Star Wars Driod depot was empty so built a driod and shipped all items we could home, including the driod. Went to RotR and road it twice in a row for about an hour of time.
Went back to ToT for one last ride, was fuller than before. Think lots of people were saving it to the end of the night. Elevator was full this time. Grabbed more waters. Was at the bus to go back at 12:40 am.
TLDR: 1 time on MMRR and Slinky. Twice on RotR and ToT. Built a driod without a reservation. Did Ogas before official party through a reservation.

2023.06.08 14:55 cricket9818 Player by Player 2022-23 Season and Postseason Review: Isaiah Hartenstein
Hello fellow Knicks fans. Last year I had a lot of fun writing up reviews for each player, and I decided I’ll make it a yearly thing. Format will be a little different to keep it fresh but same goals; evaluate players based on how they looked, their numbers, advanced stats, team stats, and an eye to next year. I will go player by player until I cover all major players on the Knicks roster. Enjoy!
If you wanna check out Josh Hart and previous write ups give a click here Player Profile: Isaiah Hartenstein
Age: 24
Contract Remaining: 1 year at $8.2 million.
2022-23 Season 82 GP, 8GS, 19.8MPG
5PTS, 6.5REB, 1.2AST, .6STL, .8BLK, .8TOV per game.
53%/21%/67% Shooting splits
I love Thibs as a coach, but many of us agree that one of few strikes against him is that he runs a bit of an unimaginative offense. There’s some motion and action, but a lot of it is ISO heavy and heavily dependent on the primary ball handlers making decisions on the whim and reacting to the defense. I feel like this concept hurts no player on the team as much as Isaiah Hartenstein. So first off, Hart (I’m calling him that for the remainder of the article, Hartenstein is just that much more annoying to type) is a heck of a well rounded player. If you look at his minutes from last year in LA, he had a 8/5/3 line with a steal and a block with a shooting split of 62%/46%/69%(nice) all in 18mpg, less than what he played this year! He can pass, he can board, he can defend and can even get in rhythm and score well near the rim and even on the perimeter. Unfortunately in Thibs' offense Hart had a much more conservative role as mostly a screener and a board crasher. Now, make no mistakes, he did those things well, averaging 2.5 offensive rebounds a game in just 20min. However, I felt Hart was severely underutilized all year, and I think because of that he had trouble adjusting in the beginning of the year, when he had some ups and downs in the first 20 games and everyone was calling for his head. As the year went on though Hart adjusted and eventually settled into his role nicely. I still think Thibs can utilize him way more. I know it's not a 1 for 1 comparison, but I look at the work Joakim Noah did (and no I’m
not saying Hartenstein is as skilled as Noah) when he played under Thibs and I’m surprised Thibs didn’t try to take advantage of Hart’s passing skills more often. Who knows, maybe we will see more of that next year. My personal caterwauling aside, Hartenstein is a great fit on the team and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them try to throw an extension his way at some point as he compliments Mitch very nicely and is affordable insurance against an injury to him.
Advanced Stats: VORP: 0.7 WS/48: .136 PER: 14.2 TS%: 56
Now by league standards, Hartenstein had a pretty average year. His PER comes in near league average (15) and his VORP sits almost at 1, indicating he’s a step above a replacement level player. But looking at his advanced stats from last year show how big of a step back he took from last year. Last year he had a PER of 22 which is phenomenal and a VORP of 2(!). To put that in perspective, he played 400 more minutes this year than last year but last year put up double the level of value. Again, Hart had a solid year for us, but I feel he was severely underutilized.
Hartenstein ranked around 35th out of ~400 players that played in at least 50 games at 15mpg in defensive rating. This puts him as one of the more highly rated defensive big men in the league. Pretty impressive. He didn’t always put up the counting stats but his effort was apparent.
Hartenstein pops up in 6 of the Knicks top 10 defensive rated lineups. Conversely, he also appears in 6 of the bottom 10 defensive rated lineups. However Hart is also in 6 of our top 10 net rated lineups and 6 out of 10 worst net rated lineups. Shockingly he’s in 6 of our top and bottom 10 offensive lineups as well. All this makes sense as Hart graded out as a slightly above replacement level player. So he was there when things went good, but also there when things were not.
2023 Playoffs: 3.1PTS, 4.6REB, 1.3AST, .8STL, 1.4BLK, .5TOV per game
48%/N/A/75% from the field
0.2 VORP WS/48 .171 PER 13.5
Hartenstein brought his shovel and pal for the playoffs, and gave the Knicks some tough minutes at center. While his counting stats may leave a little to be desired, his advanced stats show that he played well during his 20 mpg on the court. However, as previously stated, his lack of offensive versatility (which is consistent among many players on the roster) created the redundancy that made the Knicks offense a little stagnant and not as successful as it could be in the playoffs. It's another moment where I feel like Thibs underutilized him as he does have (albeit an inconsistent) outside shot, and they could try to use Hart to clear the paint for drives and kicks. Also worth noting that it was more or less Hart’s first postseason appearance, so the jitters are being worked through.
2023 Off season Despite being in the league 5 years already, Hartenstein is only 24 years old, so he does have more room to grow. Hartenstein has a good offensive game around the rim, can finish and has a little baby hook/push shot that he uses effectively. He
can shoot from the outside, career 31% shooter from 3 but on very small volume. Even if Hart could push that to 33% he could really provide another layer to his game. He’s a solid defender but can definitely be better against big bangers in the post. Hart is a capable pass and also rebounds very well already. Again, I feel Hart can showcase more than what he did last year if given more chances from Thibs.
Overall Grade for 2022-23 season: B
Hartenstein had a bumpy introduction to the Knicks. However, he leveled off quickly and showed the workman’s mentality that NYK fans love. He plays hard and (mostly) plays smart. I think he can take some more steps forward in his offensive game and low post defense. I also believe Thibs can entrust him with more high post and passing action, but that is to be seen. He’s a solid role player I wouldn’t mind seeing around here for a while.
More to come soon. Let’s go Knicks!

2023.06.08 14:45 2oby So, Aliens huh?
I met a drunk guy in the park. He had one of those conference ID tags around his neck. He was sitting on a pallet of Bud Light raving about opportunities in post scarcity deflation. He was clearly making the most of the arbitrage opportunity, so much so, that eventually he staggered off and passed out. The guy was so sloshed he forgot to close his laptop. I had a peak. There was a lot of repetitive energy budgeting and genotype statistical analysis to struggle through but sensing my perplexity, the laptop suggested it could summarize and translate the data into Terran vernacular for aboriginals—
The Vetan, the Quagaars, the Vindaloovians, and the rest of the ten-thousand-strong coalition that make up the GPLC (Galactic Poverty Law Combine) have been visiting Sol3 for a hundred million years.
100M BP – Fish, big lizards, small hairy critters, volcanoes. Recommendation: check back in 50M years.
50M BP – Lots of hairy quadrupeds, some interesting aquatic mega endotherms, significant feathery aerial diversity. Recommendation: check back in 50M years.
1M BP – Bipedal hairy endotherms communicating abstract concepts via sonic telepathy, tool use, marine navigation. Standard technology curve. Recommendation: check back in 1M years.
10K BP – Significant depopulation of mega-fauna. Bipedal endotherms experiencing severe genetic bottlenecking due to comet strikes and a hemisphere-scoped extinction event. Standard technology curve. TTS (time to singularity) 10K years +/- 5K years. Recommendation: distal civilizations may want to start packing for a road-trip.
1K BP – Large-scale social mobilization. Extended cognition […] TTS 1K years +/- 500 years. Recommendation: step up surveillance cadence. Tickets open within the 500LY party zone—start boosting up now, you don’t want to miss this one!
100 years BP – Atomic theory. Branchial Theory. Digital Computation. This is it, galls and zims! The hairy bipeds are going Singularity any decade now! Last chance to book your tickets! This one is going to be a blast!
14th October 2017 – High-density probe insertion despite light sail ejection malfunction. Observation of critical ecosystem degradation. Significant existential self-annihilation risks: current odds are 3:2 against. Evidence of unsanctioned Quagaar technology transfer. Vindaloovian griefing sigils. Genetic diversity has been cached. Post-doc observers will remain on station for the final singularity end-run.
Interesting articles have been written about Sol3. Evolution between major lineages has delivered good papers on Dolphin and Fish convergence. Sonic-telepathy is pretty cool and unusual, remember way back when #GruntingHomo was trending? But you know the deal… there are a hundred billion life-supporting planets in the Galaxy. Dinosaurs are cool, they come in different sizes, but they all taste of chicken. The only thing that properly gins up the Galactic news cycle is some new Sophont species going full-blown Singularity!
This happens rarely; two or three per millennium. All the players like to have delegations on the ground when the fireworks start. Remote civilizations that miss-estimate kick-off time often arrive hundreds or thousands of years early—
better a thousand years early than ten minutes late, right?! We hang around in the Oort Cloud with our press passes around our necks (anatomical analogue) drinking too much (psychotropic analogue), fucking each other (physiological analogue), and killing time. Those of us with a few Singularities under our belt, know there’s always a black market for sneaking down early to get inside scoops or, if you’re from one of the non-compliant factions, negotiating deals before the GPLC lawyers stitch up exclusivity on all the good stuff…
You wouldn’t believe the price of beer down here!
Ooops, the red light just started going ape! I’m off to put on my Singularity trousers! The fun’s about to start!! See you on the other side!
