2023.06.07 20:53 Logan_Maddox Is it just me or there isn't a lot of Bronze Age in the Orlanthi? Or at least the use of "Bronze Age" in the game means something different?

I've been running Six Seasons in Sartar and having a nice time with it, has its ups and downs, but nothing about it feels particularly Bronze Age-y besides the fact that stuff is made of bronze.
Like, it's a valley with a bunch of homesteads, a village where land is measured in hides, people have names like Jorgunath and Gordangar, the chieftain is surrounded by a council and thanes, they worship a storm-warrior deity... it all feels very Dark Ages Anglo-Saxon to me. (And it can't be unintentional because Pendragon shows Greg Stafford knew A LOT about this period, so maybe he went with that because of his familiarity?)
I made the switch to Mythras and it really heightened that feeling to me, because I tried using Mythic Babylon for inspiration and there was very little there that felt like it fitted. Like, the idea of the Lunars might fit in a bit with the Amorites what with their lunar deity and whatnot, but they feel much more like Imperial Rome and the Achaemenids to me - both Iron Age civilisations.
I know that Glorantha is an old setting that has changed a lot and become very unique, but I do find it weird that a lot of folks told me it's basically Bronze Age but it doesn't really feel that Bronze Age-y to me. Especially the whole politics of the Orlanthi fighting against the Empire, that feels much more like the celts and the germanic peoples fighting against the Romans; again, none of which happened before the Bronze Age Collapse.
Maybe there are regions of the map that are more Bronze Age-y though, I'm not familiar with stuff outside Dragon Pass as I've only very recently started playing, but it does strike me as strange to call the game Bronze Age and then start playing in a longhouse, with a round shield, a tribal clan, blue tattoos, "thanes" and "hides" and whatnot. AFAIK most of the mountain peoples in the Bronze Age were nomadic or semi-nomadic, so much closer to the Hsunchen than the Orlanthi, at least that's the impression I've got until now.

2023.06.07 03:26 DimpleDavid Using tattoo ink to dye clothing?

Hello dyeing, I have never dyed any clothing. But I am an artist and I wanted to take thrifted jeans/pants and paint on designs. Right now all I have is black tattoo ink (specifically Black Tattoo Ink - Outlining - Shading - Tribal - Permanent - Nighthawk) from Amazon. I was curious what the experts would think if I used this or even regular black ink to apply designs to my clothing.
I know it’s not perfect, I’m not looking for perfect. I just wanted some advice/opinions.

2023.06.05 21:18 ZhaoJianMu Harbinger

Harbinger:

Genres: thriller, scifi, fantasy, war, mythology, space

What is Harbinger really about and who is the messenger of doom? Chapter One Starts with the origins of the Fenshian and the Dochani, it tells of them being of one race. It is an excerpt of a text book written by the main character's ancestors. Dochani Beta refers to the planet that the Dochani came to colonize after several wars fought on other planets, their home world is not known. The Vortex and The Map of the Universe is mentioned so soon in the story, like it is and is not the premise of the book. It mentions the civil war between Dochani on Dochani Beta. War preparations are listed, which includes laying eggs on several million planets. It continues to refer to the Dochani Archives, which are pretty much scattered across the universe. After the civil war, the Dochani are found by the Fenshian and a massacre occurs. Chapter Two starts with hiding in the ocean. The Dochani school system is explained, the Dochani under school is explained, and the Dochani colonies are discussed. Dochani Zeta the planet is introduced at this point in the story. The planet Sevle that the mother of Alexandra, Kenjin, is introduced with the prophesy of destruction for the planet Sevle. With regards to the prophesy, the planet Primus Mortus is mentioned. Kenjin's home planet is mentioned. The Kingdom of Shinra is introduced in the story. Dochani are egg laying beings and as such, this is where Kenjin's Egg is mentioned. The last egg of a Dochani mother, last before her death, gains the previous powers of all of the mothers that had passed, not all Dochani have a last egg before death.

Their death is usually after they lay the egg, not dying of old age and the last birth or laying is not the last before death if they did not die in the laying of the egg. Alexandra is the last egg, or comes from the last egg rather. The hatching may not happen for 2,000 years as this is what happens with Alexandra. Alexandra, after her hatching, spends over 300 years in the town of Bannian on the planet, Sevle. When it is time to leave the town, it is on a ship named Sea Serpent. Chapter Three begins with the storm on the sea. Alexandra is lost and Kalima and her mother and father carry out their things in the kingdom of Shinra. For Sevlin time passes quickly as they do not normally live very long, they die sooner than later. Fast track to Kevlin being a lot older as Kalima tells of her life. Soon we learn of Kevlin's folly and all of his desires to find Alexandra. The mistakes he makes in front of the wrong people. Chapter four begins Kalima's dilemma. She finds her dad dead in his bed, and begins the process of becoming immortal. Then her father's funeral takes place and she is different, and her family is annoyed with Kalima. She is betrayed by her brothers. Kalima has to survive, no matter what. She is thrown into the ocean and finds herself facing things that she never thought that she would. But she still had to find the truth about what happened with her father and his strange death.

Chapter five is all about that ocean view and the shaman that betrays her. Kalima becomes the sentient creature of the sea and then becomes a woman of power with a book that should not exist. There is a major magical accident that sends her to be born from another, on an Earth. She is in an egg of her mother and her mother is born. Chapter six she is born from that mother. Mad science is done on her as she is eventually known as Tika Roma. There is higher tech on this world, like it was at 2500+ AD. Chapter seven she begins to get more powerful. Chapter eight she makes terms with her captors. Later that Earth explodes and she is sent somewhere else. Chapter nine we are back to Alexandra when she went overboard from the ship, Sea Serpent on the planet Sevle. She meets the L'art'o tribe that takes her in, but does not take her in. They are cannibals so they think a little differently. Alexandra learns their customs while a captive. Chapter ten she is tattooed with dots and branded. She is a slave. Chapter eleven she is taught how she is to serve the L'art'o tribes people. At the end of the initiation of being a servant, there is the smoking of the pipe. It brings out the beast within her. After she finds herself on Sortenla, another planet where she eats lily pads. Chapter twelve begins with her back in the L'arto'o tribe, but after being away for fifteen years and many of the tribes people were eaten by wolves or a wolf.

An acolyte, Jentus, takes her in to get supplies for being trained as a hunter. Chapter thirteen begins her hunter training. Basic training is fighting and exercises, an enchanted forest is used to get more out of training in a shorter time frame. It feels longer than it actually is in the real world. The Dochani are explained in the words of her captor, Jentus. Blocks, punches and kicks are explained and worked on. Chapter fourteen begins with the practice sword, a short sword. After some time she is sent into the Enchanted Forest again where she has to survive on grubs and foraging. Shortly after passing through the veil between the real world and unknown world she ends up on another world, a Dochani world. Chapter fifteen she begins mage training with her father, Genshen. Karma is the essence of Dochani magic. There is a training accident and because of stress she finds herself in the in-between assassin world of the wolf. A six hundred thousand year old wolf that no longer exists outside of the realm of the wolf, trains her how to be an assassin. Back in the L'art'o tribe none of them is left and the devourer of worlds that was prophesied to come on Sevle, comes. Fenshian means devourer. Chapter sixteen she is back on Sortenla, the planet. The army structure of the Grand Reach is explained by SilverFox. SilverFox makes his escape from a forward camp with important papers, while the rest of the army fights the enemy. Chapter seventeen is the logistics of various members of the group that peeled off and the defenders that were left behind. The defenders at the forward camp are overrun and only one sergeant survives the attack, as the sergeants were left in charge of fighting the enemy while ciphers are being taken to the king or high ruler.

Tree the scout is caught and the shapeshifter elf is found out as he was one of the sergeants. In the desperate fight or flight run SilverFox tumbles down a hill and runs into Alexandra, or this is the other side of her story being revealed. Tree is caught by the necromancer, the nemesis or one of the nemisises of the story. Chapter eighteen introduces the Magi. Ghast Ogres are the Magi. Alexandra cannot find a source to fuel her magic on Sortenla so she uses blood magic to heal her and SilverFox, binding them together. Her father warned her that this magic can corrupt your karma. It is reported to the king that his son and the ciphers he was carrying, were captured. SilverFox is the son of the king. The Ghast Ogre is rescued by two female elves, the Ghast Orge's soon to be wives, and the shapeshifter elf is found to be the uncle of one or both of the elves that rescue the Ghast Ogre. The necromancer is in a bath house in the city of bone. Scouts report to the king of where SilverFox and the girl is, as the king does not know who she is at this point. Chapter nineteen we are introduced to the city of bone and what takes place there. Betrayed by the only scouts to give the king the message of where SilverFox is, those that were with SilverFox before wait in cells. SilverFox and Alexandra are in a stone room. Within the Gunga Jungle, the Ghast Ogre kingdom, the two elves marry the Ghast Ogre in the Ghast custom. Part of the process is Magi Tattoos. Chapter twenty brings in the necromancer's undead armies. War between the allies and the emperor begin. SilverFox, Alexandra and the others are tortured in the city of bone, while the war is fought on more than a few fronts.

Things get so bad that Alexandra turns into the wolf and kills several of the captors and torturers. Chapter twenty one begins the tea party with two elf lady's after they come to save Alexandra and the rest of those being tortured that were not already dead. After a long talk, training is offered as well as ancient armour said to bond with those that wear it, or kill them if they are not Dochani. Armour that can be summoned in layers, weapons as well made from the same materials. Chapter twenty two begins bow training. Go'gen style of martial arts, the style used by the elves and the Ghast Ogres, is taught to her. Real weapons are used in sparring. Alexandra, SilverFox and their family receive 150 Magi tattooes and are part of the Magi. When Alexandra is 1590 years old, the Fenshian come to Sortenla. Chapter twenty three begins Alexandra's long 20,000+ years of metamorphosis. Afterwards Alexandra is feline with wings and claws and her family is missing. She is still on Sortenla. Hunters are hunting for a feast, the Boggarin is one of the delicacies of trolls. A tiger is hunted, then an Egorack, and of course the Rhagarian Hog. At this time there is not much of the big empires of the past just tribal villages, good trolls, and of course bad trolls. A long table is where they will eat this food after the cooks prepare it. Chapter twenty four finally declares Alexandra as champion, even though she was away for like 25,000 years and so much changed while she was changing. Chapter twenty five begins with the betrothal as all alliances are weddings or marriages.

In this time, the marriage gauntlet is a thing and you run through it when you get married. If you don't make it, you don't get married. Once through it, the marriage alliance happens with the marriage of two tribes becoming one. Chapter twenty six begins the mind trap, a Fenshian trick. Michael Cronin, the necromancer, is still alive after 25,000 years or not as he is just a Lich. The creature that is Michael Cronin is sent into another existence when Alexandra crushes his heart. The war goes on and the Fenshian are destroyed, but in the end Alexandra is hit with a strange black dart and disappears. Chapter twenty seven begins with Nobeard leaving a note for the one to come, which is several thousand years after the disappearance of Alexandra. A small group of bandits with iron gauntlets on their armour and bad trolls are in this time, left over of the enemies before. Tribes and a troll / tribe hybrid from an old alliance exist in this time. They are all descendants of those that fought the Fenshian and the undead so long ago. The Iron Fist are descendants of the emperor's men. Chapter twenty eight is the meeting after the Iron Fist men attacked the village. Allies will be gathered just like what happened more than seven thousand years ago. This is still the planet Sortenla. Dractopus are explained here and Dragon Rats. Of course.

After rest, all go to different areas to gather and form a new city. Chapter twenty nine troll history is explained and the other races on Sortenla as many left for somewhere else. In chapter thirty the great hunt begins like it did more than seven thousand years ago, chapter thirty one is the feast and marriage proposals, chapter thirty two is the journey to the new city. Chapter thirty three is where everyone agreed to meet. As they all travel towards the agreed upon place, Kalima comes down in a great ball of fire. Chapter thirty four they see a black castle in the distance and head towards it. 50,000 plus allies entered the castle and were just gone. On the planet Earth 2150 a Jacob Mathews is tossed a black sphere and disappears from that planet. Jacob ends up on another planet changed from what he was. Chapter thirty five Jacob get's married to the daughter of the Icorn people. The Icorn people begin to get wings again and the Icorn Fortress is moved into. Aqua goblins have to be fought that burn in the daylight. Chapter thirty six starts on the planet Primodia where Delaigda resides. Delaigda becomes a gladiator of sorts on the planet Geh. Chapter thirty seven brings a few heroes together. The heroes are pursued. The underground and the syndicate are opposing factions. Chapter thirty eight the heroes think of the past. The syndicate is explained. The underground is explained. Chapter thirty nine is the vortex and what it means with regards to Alexandra. Thorinjian, on the planet Khangle, encounters a black sphere and it sends him to the planet Geh. He ends up saving the boss of the underground and makes a deal with her. 2023.06.05 19:02 AlmpleVA Tattoo Advice (Stretch Marks/Weight Loss)

I've been thinking about getting a Neo Tribal/Cyber Sigilism style designed on my lower back (tramp stamp), but I am just unsure if the idea is a great one.
I have stretch marks along that area that are pretty visible. It's somewhat mild in terms of size, but you could still see it if you focus on it. I have lost weight, and still losing, but I don't know if getting the tattoo and losing weight is going to impact the marks and the tattoo itself more. Planning on losing about 20 more lbs, lost 60 in the past year so I was just curious on weather the placement would be alright in terms of the stretch marks? :(
Would love to see your advice. <3

How would you describe this design? What should I search to find out more?
Hi everyone!
I am new to tattoos and came across this tattoo design online when I searched “tribal tattoos”. (I am hoping to write a novel and this is part of my character development / outline.)
Does anyone know the significance/ names / descriptors of this type of design? Or know what I should search to learn more? (I’d like to be knowledgeable and try to incorporate the background info in to my novel if possible.)
Thank you in advance!

Ideas on how to “fix” my Mewtwo tattoo
I've been working on tribal Pokémon sleeves, and I started with a Lucario and Mewtwo on opposite arms, however the artist I went to was inexperienced as evident by how this tattoo looks, and l'm frankly at a loss on how to have it touched it up to fix it, this tattoo is about 6 years old and is by far the worst looking on my sleeves, as I've since gotten about 6 more Pokémon by a different much more experienced artist, examples of the stuff I’ve gotten later in other pictures

2023.06.03 14:43 Psychological-Fix350 AITA for getting a matching tattoo to my son?

I am not a fan of tattoos. Only because they are so ubiquitous now. When I was a kid tattoos were rare and rebellious. Nowadays they are everywhere and that's fine. People can decorate themselves however they want.
But, for example, my grandfather had tattoos. His were from when he was in the military and were a memorial to his friends.
My son (19) has wanted a tattoo since he was little so I told him that was okay but to really consider whatever he got and have it be at least a little meaningful and not just do it to be "cool".
I told him if he got something and it had no special meaning I would get the exact same one.
I guess he thought it was an empty threat because he got a tribal arm band tattoo.
I asked him about it and he said it just looked cool. Okay, well I have disposable income and a high pain tolerance.
Now we have matching tattoos and he no longer wants to show his off.
He says I'm an asshole for getting a tattoo just to prove a point.
I think it's silly to get a meaningless tattoo to look cool.

I'm a few treatments into having my tribal tattoo removed and as time has passed I've found it becomes more painful. Has anyone found a way of reducing the pain slightly before having it done? The chap doing it didn't really have any advice

2023.06.02 22:08 Emergency_Pizza1803 Would it be inappropiate for an atheist to get a religious tattoo?

I was wondering because these topics usually divide opinions like with wether it is cultural appropiation to get tribal, text in asian languages, or Japanese designs.
The tattoo would not have any religious meaning, I just think this artist has a cool virgin mary design.

2023.06.02 21:50 Forsaken-Artist-4317 Princess Mononoke and collapse

Princess Mononoke, is a master piece of the art and one of my all time favorite movies. And you should watch it.
I searched the sub for post about this movie, and only found a single one, and it deserves more discussion.
Here is the Wikipedia for it.
The first time you watch it, just enjoy it. Go do that now. If you've never seen it, I envy you that you get to watch it for the first time. Make an event of it. Turn off the lights. Get some popcorn. And then come back and read the rest of my post.
Ok, good. Welcome back. Seriously, though, just bookmark this post and come back to it later.
Now that you've seen the movie, and if you're like me, you've seen it a dozen times, lets talk about how it relates to collapse.
There is the obvious theme of humans vs. nature, leading to leading to ultimately destruction of Iron Town. The wikipedia page does a great job, so I'll just copy and paste it here:
Environment
A central theme of Princess Mononoke is the environment.[29] The film centers on the adventure of Ashitaka as he journeys to the west to undo a fatal curse inflicted upon him by Nago, a boar turned into a demon by Eboshi.[30] Michelle J. Smith and Elizabeth Parsons said that the film "makes heroes of outsiders in all identity politics categories and blurs the stereotypes that usually define such characters". In the case of the deer god's destruction of the forest and Tataraba, Smith and Parsons said that the "supernatural forces of destruction are unleashed by humans greedily consuming natural resources".[31] They also characterized Eboshi as a businesswoman who has a desire to make money at the expense of the forest, and also cite Eboshi's intention to destroy the forest to mine the mountain "embodies environmentalist evil".[30] Deirdre M. Pike writes that Princess Mononoke is simultaneously part of nature and part of the problem.[32] Mononoke represents the connection between the environment and humans, but also demonstrates that there is an imbalance in power between the two.[32]
The main thing that I want to talk about is how inevitable the plot of the movie is, and how one could easy remove any of the characters, or have them die earlier in the movie, and the outcome of the movie would be the same. Maybe delayed a few years, but ultimately, the deer god's destruction at the hand of the humans is all but guaranteed.
Ashitaka is the main character and acts as our point of view character for the events in the movie. But what if he was killed by Nago in the opening of the movie, and then the movie just kept going?
Well, we would be treated to beautiful landscapes as the camera heads west. And then we get to the village where some humans are killing other humans. Ashitaka isn't there to save anyone, and the hunter doesn't see his skills or curse, and so continues to Iron Town without him.
Ashitaka isn't there to save the Ox driver, and the camera just passes thru the forest. We get Iron Town, and without Ashitaka we miss out on a lot of the exposition of the characters that they would have explained to him. But Princess Mononoke still attacks Iron Town in the attempt to kill Lady Eboshi. Here, it seems the most likely case is that she is killed by the villagers. Eboshi and the villages seemed to have it pretty under control.
So now both of the main characters in the movie are dead, but the movie keeps going. The Hunters and Eboshi still plan to kill the Deer God, and now without Ashitaka and Princess Mononoke, the task is that much easier. The Deer God's head is stolen, and then, well, depending on how all that actually works, the Emperor is granted Immortality, The End, or how I imagine it, they aren't able to escape the Death God's wrath and ultimately Iron Town is destroyed in much the same way as in the movie. The Death God wipes it off the face of the earth.
But we can just stop once they kill the Deer God, as that's the metaphor of environmental destruction that I'm concerned about.
But what if Princess Mononoke had succeeded in killing Eboshi when she attacked the village? Would that have saved the Deer God? Well, no. We know that other humans know about the iron underneath the forest. They attack Iron Town while Eboshi is attempting to kill the Deer God. So even if Princess Mononoke had killed every single human in Iron Town, more humans would have come for the Iron. Endlessly.
Eboshi's death wouldn't have even prevented the death of the Deer God. Sure, in the movie she is the one that pulls the trigger, but any number of the hunters could have just as easily made that shot. A few of them were superstitious about it, but most were completely Ok with the act, and could just as easily pulled the trigger.
Same with Jigo character and his hunters. The Emperor wants the head of the Deer God, and put out a bounty for its head. That means anyone and everyone, for miles and miles around, would come and try to kill the Deer God. Inside of the movie, his death would have likely delayed the death of the Deer God the most, but ultimately, he is just one of endless mercenaries. Even the death of the Emperor wouldn't have saved the Deer God for long, as well know that Eboshi was mainly killing it so that she could get to the iron underneath the forest.
Ok, so what?
Well, as you can see, I think about this movie A LOT, and have basically come to view it as a true story. Obviously, not all the fantasy elements, but if earth was covered in massive beast that humans had to deal with with just pointy sticks and later swords. The Deer God as a metaphor for just nature in general, and humans slowly building up the ability to tame nature it self. One could set this movie basically any time and place in history, back before the Beast and Gods of the world still stood a chance against our technology.
Here are some ChatGPT generated examples:
Certainly! Here are ten different locations and time periods where a similar story to "Princess Mononoke" could take place:
Ancient Greece - A mountainous region where a conflict arises between a mining colony and a guardian spirit of the forest.
Viking Era Scandinavia - A fjord-side village clashes with a mythical creature that protects the surrounding wilderness.
Aztec Empire (15th century) - A powerful empire seeks to exploit the resources of a sacred rainforest, leading to a confrontation with a nature deity.
Colonial-era India - British colonizers encounter a fierce resistance from indigenous tribes defending their sacred lands from industrial exploitation.
Prehistoric Amazon Rainforest - A tribal society fights against an ancient creature guarding their sacred territory from encroaching outsiders.
Wild West (19th century) - A railroad company's expansion threatens a Native American tribe's spiritual connection with the land and a legendary animal guardian.
Ancient Egypt - An ambitious pharaoh's desire for expansion puts him at odds with a powerful deity protecting the Nile and its surrounding environment.
Feudal Japan (Sengoku period) - Warring samurai clans disrupt the balance of nature, resulting in a conflict with a mythical creature protecting a pristine forest.
Victorian-era Australia - Settlers encroach upon the habitats of unique and rare creatures, leading to clashes with indigenous tribes who revere them as gods.
Future Mars Colony - Human colonists on Mars face a struggle between resource exploitation and the preservation of the planet's delicate ecosystem, involving an enigmatic Martian guardian entity.
Ok, that last one is ChatGPT completely missing the point, but you get the idea.
There is a line Princess Mononoke along the lines of "There are humans everywhere; go kill them in your own forest."
And that's that the take away from all this. Humans are everywhere, and we've slowly, one after the other, killed every single giant and beast that used to live on this planet, that were tasked with protecting their (and our) gods.
And now humans have killed and stolen the head of not just the Deer God, but of every single God on the planet. The oceans gods, the forest gods, the desert gods, the rain gods, the river gods, and gods of wind, heat and cold. All of them, blind and angry, will thrash their vengeance upon us all.
The last thing I'll add, is that Lady Eboshi saved women from the sex trade, and treated and housed lepers. She wanted to build a place for the people of her village. It's very likely that Ashitaka's people long ago killed the beast and gods of their own forest, in the attempt to do the same.
Humans have been evil a lot in our history, but also, a lot of the time, too, we just wanted a place to live.

2023.06.02 17:35 RTRvera The Tales Of The Brotherhood

The city of Caligo, capital of the magical kingdom Luminis Obscurum, sat nestled at the heart of a labyrinthine mountain range. Its ominous silhouette sprawled in every direction, its myriad structures draped in dark violet hues, gleaming under the eerie light of a moon perpetually shrouded by a veil of foreboding crimson clouds. The city was surrounded by an intricate lacework of floating islands, shrouded in perpetual twilight, held aloft by a blend of mystical forces and practical alchemy. Like a thousand demon eyes, the lights of Caligo blinked and twinkled in the perpetual night.
At the center of the city rose the Coliseum Arcanum, a gargantuan amphitheater that dominated the skyline. Its impossibly tall spires pierced the heavens, each adorned with statues and banners that howled in the ceaseless wind. Built from dark obsidian stone that seemed to drink in the light, the coliseum was the heart of the city, pulsating with the rhythm of the wild and brutal contests it hosted.
The air was thick with anticipation as the annual Grand Arcana Tournament was about to begin. Warriors from every corner of the kingdom and beyond had gathered to partake in a ruthless test of strength, endurance, and arcane mastery. The stakes were high, for the winner would be granted one wish — any request within the realm of possibility, as promised by the arcane potentates who ruled Luminis Obscurum.
And so, five extraordinary individuals found themselves on the cusp of the city, overlooking the sprawling urban expanse. The depth of their bond was reflected in the aura of resilience they radiated, a testament to the hardships they had weathered together.
Askari, the warrior monk, was the group's spiritual compass, guiding them through their trials with an unwavering determination reminiscent of his celestial forebear, Sun Wukong. His build was sinewy, every muscle carved from a lifetime of discipline and dedication. He carried the Ruyi Jingu Bang, an unyielding staff as flexible in combat as the very air, a symbol of his birthright and testament to his strength.
Skyblitz, an Aarakocra of intimidating stature, stood beside him. His feathers were as sharp as razors, their metallic sheen reflecting the enigmatic moonlight. He was a master of the turbulent winds, manipulating the very air around him into deadly weapons or sturdy shields. His eyes held a hint of wisdom that belied his avian wildness.
Next stood Redroot, the Goliath, towering over his companions. His skin bore the weathered marks of the mountain he hailed from, and the deep, unyielding roots that had fostered him. His magic was as much a part of him as the very rock he could command — sturdy, unwavering, and titanic in its ferocity.
Joneson, the Oathbreaker, was a stark contrast to the rest. A former Paladin who had turned his back on his sacred vows, he was a mystery, even to his closest friends. The void he mastered was as perplexing and enigmatic as the man himself. His aura was dark, pulsating with an energy that sent shivers down the spines of even the bravest.
Lastly, there was IraTater, the Poison Dragonborn, a creature of mischief and mayhem. His scales shimmered an iridescent green under the glow of the distant city, a signal of the deadly toxin that coursed through his veins. His crooked grin revealed rows of sharp teeth, a sign of his nonchalant attitude towards the world and its troubles.
Their gazes were collectively locked on the imposing structure at the heart of the city, an ominous sense of destiny pervading their silence.
"Y'all ready for this?" IraTater broke the silence, a playful grin spreading across his face.
Skyblitz responded with a solemn nod, his avian eyes reflecting a hardened resolve. "It's why we're here, isn't it?" His voice was calm, a lull in the storm.
Redroot's massive hand came to rest on the Aarakocra's shoulder, his deep voice rumbling like a landslide. "We face this together. As always."
Askari turned towards Joneson, his eyes searching the Paladin's shrouded countenance. "What of you, Joneson? Are you prepared to stand with us once again?"
The Oathbreaker turned his gaze away from the city, looking into the eyes of his comrades. His eyes held a profound sadness, but beneath it lay a flicker of defiance. "The void in my past may never be filled. But today, I fight for you, my brothers. For us."
A shared grin spread among them, and they extended their hands into a joint fist bump, their pact reaffirmed. They had faced challenges before, but the battles that lay ahead were unlike any they had experienced. The stakes were high, the odds were daunting, but the strength of their bond held firm.
As the first rays of false dawn cast their ethereal light on the city of Caligo, the friends stepped onto the path leading into the heart of Luminis Obscurum, their hearts aflame with determination and camaraderie. The Grand Arcana Tournament awaited, and the fate of five friends was about to intertwine with the destiny of an entire kingdom.
Having traversed the twisted maze of Caligo's cobblestone streets, the friends found themselves at the foot of the Coliseum Arcanum. Up close, its enormity was almost incomprehensible, the structure dwarfing everything around it.
The surrounding area was a riotous carnival, alive with an intoxicating mix of excitement and dread. Vibrant market stalls, whimsical parades, and arcane showcases adorned the streets, a tumultuous celebration of the upcoming bloodshed. Over the cacophony of jubilations, the friends could hear the roar of the crowd within the coliseum, their excitement a palpable force in the air.
As they entered the coliseum, a servile goblin ushered them to a preparation chamber. The room was dimly lit, the air saturated with the metallic tang of past battles and the musk of warriors preparing for combat.
"The matches will be one on one," the goblin's voice crackled, his eyes filled with a strange blend of fear and respect. "You'll be facing the Revenant Reapers. They're a brutal team—"
"No need to worry, friend," IraTater interrupted, flashing the goblin a toothy grin. "We can handle a bit of brutality."
The goblin nodded nervously, taking a few steps back before scurrying away.
"The Revenant Reapers, huh?" Skyblitz murmured, the name rolling off his tongue like a curse. "I've heard rumors. They're supposed to be ruthless."
"Most competitors here are," Redroot rumbled, his massive hands balling into fists. "But so are we."
Askari nodded, the warrior monk's eyes reflecting a deep-seated determination. "We will face this challenge as we have faced all others - together."
The air in the chamber vibrated with their shared resolve. The friends began to prepare for the upcoming fight, the sounds of their armor and weapons echoing in the chamber.
---
Meanwhile, in a similar chamber on the opposite side of the coliseum, a team of formidable warriors prepared for combat. The Revenant Reapers, a team as ruthless as their moniker suggested, were eager to engage in the deadly dance of the tournament.
There was Grimmhilt, a necromancer dwarf whose powers had brought him an unsettling semblance of immortality. Aridorn, an Elven sorcerer with the essence of elemental fire at his fingertips. Shifty Snigg, a halfling rogue with a penchant for bloodshed. Zul'Kur, an Orc shaman capable of summoning the wrath of the ancients. And finally, Galros, a tiefling warlock whose pact with a powerful demon endowed him with a frightening array of dark magic.
"Got our match-ups for the first round," Grimmhilt's gravelly voice resonated in the chamber, his hands holding a piece of parchment. "I've got Askari, the warrior monk. Aridorn, you're up against Skyblitz, the bird-man. Snigg, you'll take the Goliath, Redroot. Zul'Kur, you have the Oathbreaker, Joneson. And Galros, you get to play with the poison Dragonborn, IraTater."
A chorus of anticipatory laughter echoed through the chamber. These were fighters who lived for the thrill of the fight, the rush of blood, and the sweet taste of victory.
---
The time for the first match approached, and an electric tension filled the air. As the friends exited their preparation chamber, they stepped into the staggering expanse of the Coliseum Arcanum.
High above them, in a throne overlooking the entirety of the Coliseum, sat the announcer, an eccentric gnome by the name of Razzle Fizzlebop. With a voice amplified by magical means, he welcomed the crowd to the grand spectacle about to unfold.
"Welcome, one and all, to the Grand Arcana Tournament!" His voice boomed across the Coliseum, echoing off the obsidian walls. "In this corner, a team like no other, bonded by courage, a quintet of outstanding warriors: Askari, Skyblitz, Redroot, Joneson, and IraTater! And in the other corner, a ruthless band of hardened fighters, known for their merciless tactics: the Revenant Reapers!"
A deafening cheer erupted from the spectators as the two teams stepped into the arena, each fighter sizing up their respective opponent.
"May the best team prevail!" Razzle Fizzlebop's voice rang out, a signal of the brutal spectacle to come. "Let the Grand Arcana Tournament commence!"
The friends shared a final look of camaraderie, each promising the other that no matter what happened, they would face it together.
As the echoes of the crowd's cheers filled the air, the friends braced themselves. The stage was set. The dance of death was about to begin.
With the commencement of the tournament, the atmosphere within the Coliseum Arcanum transformed. The anticipation reached fever pitch, the audience holding their collective breath as the first combatants took center stage.
"IraTater of the Brotherhood!" Razzle Fizzlebop's voice resonated through the coliseum, his enthusiastic tone whipping the crowd into a frenzy. "Versus Galros of the Revenant Reapers! A venomous dance with the flames of the inferno!"
IraTater walked into the spotlight, his scales shimmering like deadly emeralds. He offered the crowd a cheeky wave, his usual levity on full display despite the high stakes.
Across the battlefield, Galros stood, a menacing figure swathed in a cloak of shadowy flames. His eyes glowed with a fiery intensity, a visual testament to the infernal pact that fueled his magic.
"As per the rules of the Grand Arcana Tournament," Razzle continued, "The fight will go on until one fighter yields, is incapacitated, or… worse."
IraTater couldn't help but roll his eyes at the gnome's dramatic flair. "Alright, big guy," he called to Galros, "Let's give 'em a show."
The tiefling merely smirked, his hands beginning to dance in the intricate patterns of arcane sigils, summoning the deadly magic of his infernal pact.
The match began in earnest, Galros opening with a volley of "Hellfire Bolts", flaming projectiles that exploded upon impact. IraTater nimbly evaded, his agile form a blur on the battlefield.
With a growl, IraTater retaliated with a "Venomous Torrent," a wave of toxic energy that radiated from his outstretched claws. Galros, however, was quick to erect an "Infernal Barrier," absorbing the brunt of the toxic assault.
The two continued to exchange blows, Galros utilizing destructive pyromancy, while IraTater countered with his unique blend of agility and venomous magic. Despite his playful demeanor, IraTater's prowess was undeniable, his movements punctuated by fluidity and precision.
However, as the battle progressed, it became apparent to IraTater that he was gradually being outmatched. Galros' infernal magic was relentless, and while IraTater's agility and venom-based attacks were formidable, they were not enough to keep up with Galros' fiery onslaught.
Spotting his opportunity, Galros decided to play dirty, casting a "Shadow Bind," an underhanded spell designed to immobilize his opponent by exploiting a moment of weakness. The crowd gasped as dark tendrils snaked from Galros' fingers, aiming to entrap IraTater.
But the Dragonborn was not so easily subdued. A deep, guttural growl escaped him as he looked into Galros' smirking face. "You want to play dirty?" He hissed, his scales standing on end as a surge of poisonous energy coursed through his veins.
Embracing his raw power, IraTater unleashed his "Basilisk Strike." His form became a blur, moving with such speed that it seemed to split into multiple images. In the blink of an eye, he closed the gap between him and Galros, his claw striking true. A potent burst of venomous energy erupted from his fingertips, the impact rocking the entire arena.
Galros' smirk was wiped clean off his face as he was thrown backward, crashing into the arena's boundary with an impact that left a crater in the obsidian. The tiefling's body was immobile, his defeat unmistakable.
"And the first round goes to IraTater!" Razzle Fizzlebop's voice echoed throughout the Coliseum Arcanum, the crowd erupting into cheers.
In the shadows of the entrance to the arena, Askari watched with a stormy expression. His fists clenched at his sides, his gaze fixed on the incapacitated form of Galros. He had always believed in the sanctity of honorable combat, and Galros' underhanded tactic had struck a nerve.
As Razzle Fizzlebop announced the next match - Askari versus Grimmhilt - the warrior monk stepped onto the battlefield, his gaze determined and unwavering. He had always held himself to a code of honor, and this fight would be no different. He would win for his friends, and he would do it with dignity.
And so, as the crowd's cheers echoed through the grand Coliseum, the stage was set for the next deadly dance in the Grand Arcana Tournament.
A tense hush fell over the spectators as the next combatants were announced. "Ladies and gentlemen, the next duel in the Grand Arcana Tournament," Razzle Fizzlebop's voice rang out, clear and resonant. "Askari of the Brotherhood versus Grimmhilt of the Revenant Reapers!"
Askari moved to center stage, his warrior monk training evident in his fluid grace. The crowd watched in anticipation as an ethereal golden aura shimmered around him, an echo of his inherent power. Even from a distance, the intensity of his aura was palpable, a testament to his descent from the legendary Sun Wukong.
Opposite him stood Grimmhilt, a dwarf necromancer shrouded in an aura of decay and death. His eyes glowed with an unnatural light as he prepared his formidable defenses.
"Hey, Grimmhilt," Askari called out, his voice carrying over the silence of the coliseum. "I hope you're prepared. Because I plan to end this quickly."
A sinister grin spread across Grimmhilt's face, his voice raspy with cruel amusement. "We'll see about that, monkey boy."
With a resounding gong, the duel began. As expected, Grimmhilt wasted no time in erecting his "Undead Bastion," a towering barrier of necrotic energy intended to shield him from Askari's attacks.
However, Askari was not deterred. With a deep breath, he centered himself, focusing his energy as he had been taught in the monasteries of his homeland. His aura shimmered and intensified, the spiritual energy forming a colossal image of a multi-armed deity, an embodiment of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Infinite Compassion.
Grimmhilt's grin faltered as he beheld the spectacle. But before he could react, Askari launched his attack.
"Avalokiteshvara Strike!" Askari roared, the ethereal deity mimicking his movements as they launched a barrage of attacks. Each strike was a concentrated blast of his aura, a devastating assault that battered Grimmhilt's barrier.
The "Undead Bastion," despite its formidable defenses, crumbled under the onslaught. Grimmhilt, robbed of his protective shield, was at the mercy of Askari's barrage. The warrior monk's assault was relentless and in an instant, it was over.
Grimmhilt was left sprawled on the ground, his defenses shattered, his energy depleted. The crowd erupted into cheers as Razzle Fizzlebop announced Askari's victory. "Askari of the Brotherhood is the winner!"
As Askari made his way back to his friends, he was met with high fives and words of praise. The victory, however, brought him no joy. His face remained stern, his mind already on the upcoming battles.
As Skyblitz stepped forward to take the stage, Askari extended his fist to his oldest friend. Skyblitz bumped it with his own, a silent promise of the fight to come. Askari could only hope that the rest of their battles would be fought with honor, for the sake of their brotherhood and the sacred principles they upheld.
"Prepare yourselves, for the gust of competition is about to take flight!" Razzle Fizzlebop's enthusiastic proclamation echoed throughout the coliseum, whipping the spectators into a whirlwind of anticipation. "Skyblitz of the Brotherhood versus Aridorn of the Revenant Reapers!"
Skyblitz emerged onto the battlefield, the embodiment of avian majesty and power. His feathered form shimmered as a warm gust swirled around him, a tangible display of his command over wind magic.
His opponent, Aridorn, carried an imposing aura of his own. His silver hair seemed to flow like mercury, capturing the ominous sheen of his cold eyes. As an Elf warrior, he drew upon the arcane forces at his command, his body language exuding icy determination.
As the starting signal echoed across the coliseum, the tension morphed into a dazzling spectacle of magical prowess. Aridorn was swift, initiating the duel with a "Frost Edge" attack that transformed his longsword into a chilling blade of freezing energy.
Skyblitz, ever the master of the wind, reacted with perfect timing. His "Wind Blade" took form, a blade of compressed air that met Aridorn's icy onslaught head-on. The crowd erupted into cheers, the sheer display of magical mastery a feast for their eyes.
The battle raged on, morphing into an intense back-and-forth between the two combatants. Aridorn kept on the offensive, wielding his chilling magic to launch a series of potent attacks. His "Glacial Wall" forced Skyblitz to keep his distance, while his "Frost Spears" kept the Aarakocra on his talons.
Skyblitz was not to be outdone. His mastery over wind magic was a spectacle in itself. His agile movements, augmented by "Gale Dash," allowed him to evade Aridorn's icy attacks with an effortless grace that seemed almost choreographed. His "Tempest Cyclone" countered Aridorn's defenses, the swirling vortex of wind magic breaking through the icy wall Aridorn had erected.
This thrilling exchange of magic and martial prowess continued, each warrior holding his ground. The crowd watched, breathless, as the two powerhouses collided, each new clash raising the stakes.
Eventually, however, Skyblitz decided it was time to end the match. Channeling his wind magic, he executed his final move, an attack he had perfected over years of rigorous training. "Twister Throw!" he bellowed, the powerful shout resonating across the coliseum.
In a swift, fluid motion, Skyblitz seized Aridorn, his powerful wings carrying them high above the arena. The crowd watched in stunned silence as he summoned a powerful tornado around them, his wind magic swirling with an intensity that left everyone breathless.
The force of the wind spun them around, accelerating until Aridorn was a mere blur in the eye of the storm. With a final, powerful shout, Skyblitz threw Aridorn, propelling him with the force of the swirling wind.
Aridorn plummeted to the ground, his descent marked by a tailwind of force. The impact echoed throughout the coliseum, the ground quaking beneath the force. Dust and debris filled the air, obscuring the view as the crowd held its breath.
When the dust finally settled, Aridorn was revealed, unconscious and defeated, cradled in the heart of a massive crater. Skyblitz landed elegantly on the battlefield, his victory secured.
"Victory to Skyblitz of the Brotherhood!" Razzle Fizzlebop's voice echoed around the arena. The crowd erupted into cheers, their exhilaration shaking the coliseum.
Skyblitz, despite his victory, did not celebrate. His expression was serious, his gaze focused. His mind was already on the battles to come. The Grand Arcana Tournament was far from over, and the Brotherhood was ready to face whatever came next.
As the dust from the previous battle cleared, the Brotherhood gathered in a huddle. Their attention was fixated on Redroot, the Goliath, whose presence was as sturdy and intimidating as a fortress of stone.
"Redroot," Askari began, looking up at his towering friend. "We've seen you hold back, always opting to shield rather than strike. This time, let them witness your true power. Be the landslide, not just the mountain."
Skyblitz joined in, a spark of anticipation illuminating his avian eyes. "You've got this, Red. Make the ground tremble beneath your might."
Redroot nodded solemnly, acknowledging the encouraging words of his companions. "The earth shall quake in my honor."
The crowd's excited chatter fell silent as Razzle Fizzlebop made the next announcement. "Step forward, Redroot of the Brotherhood and Snigg of the Revenant Reapers!"
Snigg, a small yet wiry goblin, walked onto the battlefield, an air of dark magic surrounding him. Redroot followed, his imposing figure causing a wave of silence to sweep across the spectators. The air around him rippled with earth magic, projecting an image that was equal parts awe-inspiring and terrifying.
With a mighty roar, Redroot charged at Snigg, his fist colliding with Snigg's in a thunderous impact that sent shockwaves pulsing through the coliseum. It was a clash of raw strength against potent magic, and the crowd watched in awe as the battle unfolded.
Snigg was swift and cunning, employing his dark magic with a surprising finesse. His "Shadow Warp" allowed him to dodge Redroot's massive strikes and retaliate with "Abyssal Shards." However, Redroot was no easy target. His earth magic countered Snigg's attacks, his "Stone Fist" shattering Snigg's dark energy projectiles while his "Earth Shield" offered unyielding defense.
Despite Snigg's agility and cunning, Redroot stood firm, countering with powerful attacks of his own. He used his "Granite Grasp" to trap Snigg, while his "Boulder Bash" sent the goblin sprawling across the battlefield.
The back-and-forth continued, each fighter displaying their unique set of skills to the fullest. Snigg continued to exploit his nimbleness and dark magic, but Redroot remained a formidable opponent, his resolve as unshakeable as the earth he commanded.
As the battle reached a fever pitch, Redroot decided to end the duel. Gathering his earth magic, he channeled it into a final, devastating attack. With a roar that echoed throughout the coliseum, Redroot slammed his fists into the ground, calling out, "Tectonic Rupture!"
The ground beneath them trembled and shook, a wave of stone and earth erupting beneath Snigg. The goblin had no time to react as the force of the attack knocked him off his feet, sending him crashing onto the battlefield.
When the dust finally settled, Snigg lay unconscious, the aftermath of Redroot's attack evident in the crater surrounding him. Razzle Fizzlebop's announcement of Redroot's victory echoed across the coliseum, met with a deafening roar of approval from the crowd.
The Brotherhood cheered for their friend, their voices drowned out by the thunderous applause. Despite his victory, Redroot remained humble, a gentle smile playing on his lips. His victory wasn't for himself; it was for his friends and the bond they shared. For the Brotherhood, this was just the beginning, and they were ready for the challenges that lay ahead.
As the dust from Redroot's battle settled, the Brotherhood gathered once more. This time, their focus was on Joneson, the Paladin oathbreaker, a man whose past was filled with guilt and redemption, and whose power stemmed from the void itself.
His fellow warriors gave him a solid, reassuring clap on the shoulder. "You've got this, Joneson. You're a Paladin, through and through. Oathbreaker or not, you uphold honor and justice like no other," Skyblitz said, his avian eyes flicking with a hint of admiration.
The others nodded in agreement. Redroot’s gravelly voice echoed Skyblitz's sentiment. "You're not just a warrior, Joneson. You’re a protector. That's your strength."
The air filled with anticipation as Razzle Fizzlebop's voice once again echoed across the coliseum. "Ladies and gentlemen, the final bout of this round. Step forward, Joneson of the Brotherhood and Zul'Kur of the Revenant Reapers!"
Zul'Kur was a towering figure, adorned with intricate tribal tattoos glowing with an arcane energy. He was an orc shaman, known for his potent spirit magic. A formidable opponent, one who had won his previous battles with a ruthless and savage efficiency.
Joneson walked onto the battlefield, his aura of void energy cloaking him like a shadow. Despite the cheering crowd, a sense of stillness enveloped him. His expression was calm, his gaze steady, the air around him seeming to warp slightly as his void magic reacted to his focused state of mind.
The fight began with a massive clash of magic, Joneson's void energy colliding with Zul'Kur's spirit magic. The crowd gasped as the arena filled with a blinding light, both fighters' powers creating an awe-inspiring spectacle.
Joneson was adept with his void magic, utilizing "Void Shield" to block Zul'Kur's spirit attacks, retaliating with his own "Shadow Strike." Zul'Kur was equally skilled, his spirit magic taking the form of ancestral warriors through his "Spirit Summon," each one engaging Joneson with ruthless ferocity.
Back and forth they went, each clash more intense than the last. Zul'Kur’s spirit magic was relentless, but Joneson’s void manipulation allowed him to absorb and deflect the attacks with increasing ease.
However, as the battle wore on, Joneson's void energy started to dominate the field. His "Abyssal Chains" attack ensnared Zul'Kur's spirit warriors, dissolving them into nothingness. His "Black Hole Strike" pulled Zul'Kur off balance, allowing Joneson to land a decisive "Void Punch."
Just as it seemed that Joneson was gaining the upper hand, a commotion stirred from the sidelines. The previously defeated members of The Revenant Reapers rushed into the arena, their expressions desperate and wild.
The crowd gasped as Galros, Grimmhilt, Aridorn, and Snigg stood beside Zul'Kur, their powers radiating menacingly. The odds had abruptly shifted. Joneson, though strong, was now standing against the full force of The Revenant Reapers.
The anticipation was thick as the crowd watched in shocked silence. The Brotherhood stood at the sidelines, their expressions a mix of concern and determination. The stage was set for a showdown like no other, the true test of the Brotherhood's unity and strength yet to come.
The Revenant Reapers' aggressive entrance onto the stage was met with mixed reactions from the crowd, the Brotherhood, and most interestingly, from Joneson himself. The Reapers exuded a sinister, dark energy as they joined Zul'Kur in facing Joneson.
In the Brotherhood's corner, Skyblitz was already halfway into his takeoff, his wings ruffling in anticipation, ready to swoop down and help Joneson. Redroot had tightened his grip on his massive boulder hammer, his eyes reflecting a fierce determination.
But, it was Askari who raised his hand, signaling them to halt. His eyes were locked onto the scene unfolding before them, a calm yet intense look etched onto his face.
"This is his fight," Askari's voice cut through the rising tension. The words were met with immediate confusion and even protest.
"But they're outnumbering him, Askari," IraTater argued, his draconic eyes glaring towards the spectacle in the arena.
Askari, however, was resolute. "Joneson has a strength we've not yet seen. He's been holding back, for reasons only he knows," he continued, his gaze never leaving the center of the coliseum.
There was a pause before Askari recounted a tale, one of a Paladin who had broken his oath to protect those he loved. It was a tale of guilt and redemption, of strength and love. The tale of Joneson, their comrade, their brother in arms. The Brotherhood listened in silence, their eyes now understanding the depth of Joneson's power that lay dormant.
Back in the arena, Joneson stood steady, his gaze meeting Askari's. There was a silent communication, a nod of acknowledgement, and an understanding. It was time.
Without breaking his gaze from the Reapers, Joneson muttered an incantation under his breath. As the words left his lips, the air around him started to warp, and a cold chill swept across the coliseum. His eyes began to gleam with an ethereal light as the Oathbreaker's Seal began to break.
"Void Infinity," he whispered. The two words carried a weight, a promise, and a threat. The darkness swallowed the arena, blotting out the light and encasing the battleground in an impenetrable shroud. The Reapers, about to attack, found themselves in a sea of uncertainty.
Out of the engulfing void emerged figures, formless yet formidable, each a living embodiment of void energy. With every word of Joneson's continued incantation, they grew stronger, their presence more intimidating.
The Reapers tried to retaliate, but their attacks were swallowed by the void. The shadowy figures closed in, a relentless storm of dark energy that crushed their resistance and drowned their cries. The sheer force of the onslaught sent shockwaves through the arena, causing the crowd to gasp in awe.
When the darkness finally receded, the scene that emerged was one of utter devastation. The Reapers lay strewn across the battleground, their energies depleted, their pride shattered.
The crowd erupted into cheers, the echo of "Joneson" resonating throughout the arena. As the Brotherhood rushed to join their victorious comrade in the center, their smiles were as wide as they were proud.
With his friends surrounding him, Joneson looked at each one of them, his eyes softening. The void magic around him faded, replaced by a warm aura. This was more than just a victory. It was a testament of their friendship, their trust, and their unyielding brotherhood. They had emerged triumphant, and for the time being, they could bask in their victory.
It was a powerful conclusion to a stunning display of magic and camaraderie. The Grand Arcana Tournament was far from over, but the Brotherhood had made their mark, and they were ready for whatever came next.

2023.06.01 08:33 Actual-Drawing1852 Blue Magnolia Ego Death Trip Report (6 grams)

To clarify, I think shrooms are a wonderful drug, I still take them, but with much more respect than I had before. I have recovered from this trip, and learned some lessons, but also got sent down a spiral of losing who I am as a person. I will try my very best to go into detail about my experience, but all of you definitely know there is no true way to word it, not to mention it's been almost a year... So, I'll try my best.
July, 27th, 2022. I was sixteen years old, approaching 17 in only a few days. I finally saved up enough money to buy the extremely promising-looking shrooms my plug was talking so highly about. I wasn't brand new to shrooms, but I wasn't seasoned in them either. I had two prior experiences to this trip, which all were amazing and didn't have a drop of bad energy, I was confident in my ability to handle a heavy dose of shrooms, but I was wrong. To preface, those past trips were 1.5 grams and 3.5 grams. All were done in a solo trip setting.
I met up with my plug, and I called the shrooms "Paul Bunyon" shrooms, due to how huge they were. They were massive, it was only two mushrooms, but their weight equaled 6 grams. I've never seen anything like it. I went home, and the whole day was eagerly waiting to have another amazing trip. I ate the mushrooms (paired with some watermelon to drown the taste) around 9-10 o clock, and from there, the delve into insanity began.
I was on a call with my childhood best friend, someone I trust with my life. He was high, so we were having a pretty laid-back conversation (as we usually do when I trip). I started feeling it hitting, like the carpet moving, the bed sheets moving, all of which were nothing like I'd ever seen. I had a feeling in my gut like something was gonna go wrong and that I probably made a mistake, but I ignored it.
I looked at the foot of my bed only to see a white energy-like figure appearing, it had a feminine energy. The best way I can describe how it looked is that of the 4th dimension handshake scene in Interstellar. I was showing my friend, who was on Facetime, and unsurprisingly he didn't see it.
From this point things start getting blurry to remember, my walls were covered in lizard eyes, and my room had a very ancient Aztec feel to it. Those energy figures were flying all around my ceiling, telling me a story almost. Using their energy to break apart, creating shapes and visions. I completely forgot about my friend, I think I told him "Hold on, they're trying to tell me something." I was having a pretty good experience, nothing too overwhelming, but certainly, the strongest trip I ever had. I kept hearing drums banging, almost like tribal music.
From this point, I was getting slightly overwhelmed, but I wasn't completely losing my shit yet. It felt like it was only getting stronger, and stronger. I sat back down at my desk, still completely rambling to my friend (who against my knowledge was asleep). The trip started taking place in my conscious, as if I was actually in my brain, looking at the thoughts physically. I started "morphing" into animals, like cats and lizards. I was just sending complete jibberish texts to all my friends, who were all asleep. I kept having weird visions like a humanoid cat jumping across a dark city's rooftop. The whole trip I was talking about where "they" would take me next.
I kept having these few-minute intervals where I would live my entire life as an animal, then reincarnate into a new one. I wasn't alone as the animal, I usually had loads of friends that were my species, taking place in a whole other world. It's not like I lived the life minute by minute, but it's almost like I was given the knowledge that I did in fact live that life. Things were, still, going well. Until I finally saw what I was doing.
I looked down and noticed I was scrolling through my text messages on my phone, but not just any messages, my family's texts, and my dad's texts. I unknowingly put complete jibberish in my texts drafts, even to some distant family members I haven't even spoken to in months. I snapped out of my trip's headspace for a moment, and that's when everything went wrong. Nothing on my phone made sense, if you've done a large amount of shrooms, you know what I mean. Everything was rearranged and in a different language. I started freaking out wondering if I actually sent any of those texts to my family, which luckily I didn't. At this point, it felt like the whole world was watching me, and I felt pure shame.
I still didn't know if I sent anything to my parents or family, so I was just waiting for the moment of my father walking in, and me embracing him due to being completely terrified. I had this feeling that everybody was worried about me and that I needed help. I started talking to my friend telling him I'm freaking out, and that's when I saw I wasn't on any call at all. The dive into madness started.
I can recount this part of the night decently well due to still having access to the conversation I had with my girlfriend. It's incredibly hard to read for me because I'm able to go back into the thought process and mindset I was in at that time. I want to add that this was part of the trip where I completely lost a sense of who I was, I was fighting it, trying to hold onto the blanket of reality we clutch so dearly onto, but it only led to a downward spiral. I was lost, I didn't know where I was, who I was, hardly even knew who my girlfriend was. It just felt like it was the only thing that kept me glued to reality.
1:22 AM
Girlfriend: Im here, you're not crazy.
1:41 AM
Me: just say something. AM I ON DRUGS JUST ANSWER THAT. HELLO???
At this point, I would completely forget everything she would say, I was trapped in my mind and was fully convinced I was dead, as well crazy. I was terrified. Time didn't exist, seconds felt like years, maybe even a lifetime.
1:47 AM
Girlfriend: you’re alive im alive. yes im here
I kept convincing myself I was okay, often repeating that I need to chill out, but it would hit me over and over again that I was not okay, in fact, I was going crazy. Reality didn't exist, nothing existed. At this point, I got up from my desk and started walking around my room.
I looked in the mirror to only see my hair blowing, a fire behind me as if my whole life was in flames. I smiled. I kept pacing back and forth, going in and out of my bathroom (which is connected to my room). My room was completely rearranged, the furniture looked as if it was blobs and polygons. I looked into my dresser mirror to see me completely naked, almost resembling a centaur, it looked almost like an abstract drawing of a person. I called one of my friends since it was still decently early into the late night. I can't remember our conversation, I just remember that I was stressing out a lot about what I was saying, and what I sounded like. My friend's phone then died.
I opened Telegram to only be met with the most confusing mess of words I've ever seen. It looked as if the screen was duplicated, then spread out everywhere. I closed Telegram. I got up and walked into my bathroom, and then I felt what pure insanity felt like. It's like a switch turned on and my brain was overwhelmed and filled with the most complex and enlighting visions. The only vision I can remember is of a chameleon opening its mouth and letting out a long tongue. After this, I was completely sure I would never be the same again and would live the rest of my life in a psych ward. That's when the bigger issue happened. I was sure I was dead. I don't know when it hit me, or how, but after the psychotic visions, I thought I was dead. Nothing made sense, it was like I was on a mission to figure out what happened, or if I was still alive.
I texted my plug at around 4 AM. I asked him why he killed me.
Friends, family, myself it was all just an idea. It's like when you wake up and can't put your finger on a dream you just had. I picked up a family portrait that sat on my nightstand, only to be met with black silhouettes instead of my family. I was lost. Whoever my family was, I felt terrible for casting the pain of my death onto them. I couldn't believe it. Thoughts of why my plug would lace my shrooms and kill me completely made me understand the concept of corruption and evil.
I sat down on my bed and tried to make sense of everything. I was certain death was here because I heard the sound of my computer fan turning off, resulting in dead silence in the room. I still have the memory of watching my bright and colorful computer setup going jet black and turning off. My room was not how I knew it. I still had my phone in my hand, I viewed it as a vessel into the past. I started going through it, only seeing texts that were sent and received before my death. None were from the present. I received a text from the friend whose phone died. I was convinced it was God, or some being trying to contact me.
"Hey"
The text sent shivers down my spine, I thought I was alone to figure out everything that was happening, but it looked like someone, or something was trying to help me. My friend knew I was freaking out, so it explains why he sent the next thing.
"I love you."
I was so damn confused, I didn't understand anything. I started talking to myself, or rather my ceiling. Saying things like
"So you were here the whole time?"
"What's next?"
The most terrifying thing happened. I knew everything. I was given knowledge of everything. Everything just made sense. I accepted that I was dead. I was left to lay and soak in my insanity. I felt what eternity felt like, and every minute of it was spent alone. I would have done anything to go back, I was begging to forget the knowledge I obtained. It felt like my bedroom was the only thing that existed, that it was the afterlife. I then fully believed I was god.
I was convinced everyone, and everything was made by me, and that I got bored so I decided to experience life for myself. I started remembering important people that were in my life, like my best friend, and my girlfriend. I was convinced since they were my creation, I could turn them into gods themselves so I didn't have to live through this alone. This obviously didn't work out. My bed sheets were phasing through me, and my body started seizing to exist. I was energy.
I felt this overpowering feeling of being watched as if I really wasn't alone. I started talking to my ceiling, and I understood that I wasn't God, but at the same I was. It was as if God is everything, meaning I am God, and meaning you are God, we are all God. I laid there for what felt like an actual eternity, almost what infinite feels like. I ended up getting up and leaving my bedroom. It was around 5 am. My father was sleeping on the couch downstairs, and I could hear his snoring echoing through the house. I was convinced it was God, and my brain was telling me it was time to meet him. I then stopped myself and went back to my room. I turned on my computer, to be met with the welcome screen that contained my name. It felt as if a switch was flipped.
I went to Discord, and joined the first server VC I saw with people on a call. It was a few Russian guys. I asked if I was dead, and was met with them laughing at how crazy I sounded. One of them then said "This is why you don't do drugs." It was beautiful. I began crying and falling onto my desk, feeling pure bliss that I was alive. My girlfriend woke up and called me, and the rest I don't remember.
I had a very rough month after this took place. I was completely dissociated, believed I was crazy, and was convinced reality didn't exist. I had a few moments where I actually thought I really did die during that trip and that the present was fake. I eventually got past all of this, and I'm pretty content with life. What I'm getting at is shrooms are not a fun party drug, and it's not a drug to feel confident taking large quantities of. You need to give it the respect it deserves, and you need to be fully ready for what it will show and present to you. Just like real-life situations, some lessons are amazing, but some lessons will beat you down, and fully test you. In the end, you need to know that no matter what, you will learn something from it. Basically, be safe everyone, I don't want to see someone suffer like I did from this amazing plant. If you're thinking about taking shrooms, start small, and do it with someone you trust.

12:56 AM
Me: this is so bad help please
1:02 AM
Girlfriend: whats wrong. how much did you take
1:04 AM
Me: i think im crazy now. will this stop
1:05 AM
Girlfriend: yes it will. i dont want anything to happen
1:15 AM
Me: talk to me. tell me who i am
1:22 AM
Girlfriend: whats wrong
1:22 AM
Me: you’re here right. I DONT FUCKING KNOW
