---Simone’s perspective---
---Thursday, 4th of January, 2683 Terran Calendar---
---Southern England---
“So… let me get this
straight…” I say, frowning at the pair before me “…Within an
hour of landin’, you…” I point at the tall, dark haired boy “…were
bitten by a king brown snake and were laid up for the next two
days, unable to contribute more than
advice to Reid while
she did
all the heavy liftin’… You weren’t able to call an
evac because, between the
two of you, you’d managed to leave the beacon you
should have had here in Graffham… and you think I should
pass you for that, do you Privates?”
“Yes, Ma’am!” answers the redhead.
“
Why should I pass you for that, Reid?”
“We fulfilled the terms of the assignment: We survived the
full five days in the environment we were dropped in using
only the allowed equipment and
without calling for an emergency evac, Ma’am.” answers the Scot, straight faced, somehow.
“You admit that you
would have called an evac if you
could have, Private?”
“Yes, Ma’am… but we couldn’t so we
didn’
t.”
“You
admit that it was your own shared
stupidity that meant that you didn’t have a beacon with you when you went, Privates?” I ask, drily.
“I… don’t believe lack of stupidity was a requirement of the test, Ma’am.” answers Reid, cheekily.
“Guess
again, Private! Lack of stupidity is
always a requirement in the Military! Stupid Soldiers are
dead Soldiers!” I correct, sternly.
“My mistake, Ma’am.” apologises Reid, hastily.
My anger subsides as I say “Buuut… as you
say… you
did make it out alive… you
didn’
t call an evac, even
if only as a result of bein’ stranded by stupidity… and…” I take a sniff and then chuckle “…it certainly
smells like you two are gettin’ along better than you were when you left…(!)”
“I’m… not sure what…?” starts Reid but I cut her off.
“Don’t play
dumb, Private!… You’ve tried to wash it off but
I’
m half Tshwane… you
can’
t fool
this nose!”
The pair shift uncomfortably before I reassure them “
Relax! You’re
not breakin’ any rules… So long as this relationship doesn’t negatively affect either of your performances, we have no issue… I also
trust this means you two
won’
t be at eachother’s
throats so much… At least, in
public… don’t really much
care what you’re into doin’ in the privacy of a bedroom… or a
cave, as the case may be(!)”
“I think it’s safe to say our rivalry is a thing of the past, Ma’am.” provides Taylor.
“
Or shifted onto
much friendlier
terms, at least…” smirks Reid.
“Good…” I turn to Taylor “…Taylor, now you’ve reached the age of majority, you’re eligible to be moved to a bunk in a
shared room…”
His face falls, clearly having hoped I’d forget about that.
“…
but…” I continue, causing him to perk back up “…I’m a
busy woman and
assignin’ you one is able to remain
low on my list of priorities… so
long as you (
or Reid) aren’t givin’ me the impression that you might benefit from more
rest, that is!… Do we
understand eachother, Taylor?”
The boy gives me a rare smile and answers “We understand eachother
perfectly, Ma’am.”
“Good!… You are dismissed, Privates.”
The two of them turn to go.
“Oh, and, Privates?”
They both turn to look at me, expectantly.
“Happy New Year…”
---Esme’s perspective---
---Friday, 5th of January, 2683 Terran Calendar---
“I can’t
believe you’ve been sleeping in a
conjugal room this whole
time!” I grin at the handsome man, currently acting as my mattress in the broomcupboard sized space.
“
Technically, it wasn’t a conjugal room… it was designated as a
private room for me, since I was a minor…” he smiles without opening his eyes.
“Oh,
aye(!) Let’s protect the
wee baby boy from any indecency by putting him in the rooms where he’ll be able to hear all the
sex through the paper thin walls,
every night(!) I see
no issue here(!)”
He shakes his head “It wasn’t
that bad…”
“Oh it
wasn’
t, was it(?)… You nasty little
perv(!)” I smirk, mischievously.
“Most of the time… people are some combination of embarrassed and considerate enough to keep the noise down… It’s rare that I would have out and out screamers next door… That’s all I
meant…”
“
Attention all:…” comes Sands’ voice, making the morning wake up call over the PA “…
It is now 0630hrs…
Time to wake up!…
After breakfast,
you are to assemble in the yard.
Father Christmas came by last night to drop off some late presents for all of you(!)”
---Oskar’s perspective---
I find the crate that has my name on, shaped (ghoulishly) somewhat like one of the wooden boxes that Christians bury their dead in.
I pick it up and carry it aside… it’s
heavy!
Looking around for someone who’s done using one of the crowbars that are being passed around, I make eyecontact with Milligan.
He raises the length of metal he holds, proffering it to me.
I take it, appreciatively, and thrust the claw end between the box and its lid.
What is inside does nothing to dispel the ghoulishness of the container’s outward appearance…
The box contains a humanoid figure, almost my exact height and build, rendered in jet black metal with a rippling, wootz pattern.
“
Fresh off the forges of Ivaldason and Sons’
Durasteel Foundry,
Iceland…” announces Sands, strolling through the throngs of people opening their respective crates “…
Between 20 and 30kg each,
dependin’
on your proportions…
Wearin’
this armour,
you become nearly as close to indestructible as it is possible to get without enterin’
the realm of divinity!…
These suits are bulletproof and bombproof!…
They do have some limitations…
they’
ll not,
for instance,
protect you from a long drop and a sudden stop!
Your organs will still be rendered into slurry in that case…
Neither’
ll they protect you from bein’ cut in half with a plasmasword!…
From now on,
you’
ll wear these from dawn to dusk!
Classes may be taken with your helmets off…
Durin’
PT,
however,
you WILL wear them in their entirety!…
It’
ll be hard to begin with but,
after less time than you think,
your bodies’
ll have acclimatised to the extra weight…
and you’
ll find movin’
in these almost as easy as movin’
out of ’
em!…
This mornin’
s workshop’
ll be an instructional on how to properly don,
remove and maintain your armour!…
Do please give it all your attention!"
---Esme’s perspective---
---Tuesday, 9th of January, 2683 Terran Calendar---
This is
HELL!
The armour is perfectly fitting and nicely padded… but it’s
so fucking heavy to wear that I can’t think about much more than how
sweaty I am and how much my muscles
ache from the
days I’ve already been wearing it!
Sands said we’d get used to it sooner than we thought but, so far, I feel like exhaustion is making me
worse, day on day!
I had to go and sleep in my
dormroom last night because I was just
too exhausted to engage in any…
extracurricular exercise with Oskar(!)
He was quite understanding about it… A little
too understanding… I wish he’d seemed at least a
touch disappointed!
Back in the present moment, the black metal giant (boosted to
over 2m by the height he gains from the boots and helmet)
rams the tip of his training sword into my solar plexus… the
one upside is that I’ll probably get less
bruises wearing this armour!
“
Hey…!”
“You’re
dead, Esme…” is the only answer that comes from that expressionless helmet.
“You not feel like going a
little easier on me now, Oskar?!… I
am your girlfriend!!!”
“Caring more about you makes me wish to see you better able to protect yourself… So,
no… I’m
not going to
coddle you…”
“
Perfectly logical…(!)” I mock in a flat, midAtlantic accent, holding up my right palm, the ring and little finger splayed from the middle and index.
“
Change partner!” shouts Sands.
Not
too long ago, my heart would have
leapt at that instruction and I would have utterly squashed
any feeling of disappointment… Now, however, it causes my already flagging morale to
vaporise!
Of course… it makes
sense… If you only ever fight with one partner, you only ever learn to fight
one way…
I shuffle along while Oskar stays where he is.
The next partner I’m up against is Kilroy… I might have a
chance of holding my own against
him at least!

2023.06.10 19:09 asd8dhd The Secrets of Interstellar and Interplanetary Travel
DISCLAIMER I almost didn’t post this. Not because I think it’s too wild or doesn’t make any sense. In fact, quite the opposite. The information I present here, which is the result of countless hours spent re-watching videos, listening to audio, and cross-referencing official information, is something that now seems to me to be far too viable not to be correct. I have actually tried to prove this theory wrong and… well basically I can’t. So, please bear this in mind as you read. This could end up being one of those rare occasions when we’re actually onto something. Either way, I hope you enjoy the post. First point; this is going to be a
long post. Given the subject matter, it needs to be. Second point; I have not added any images or videos directly
into the post but have instead included a great many links embedded within the text itself. This should ensure that the post is no longer than it needs to be but should still allow you sufficient opportunity to fully scrutinize every part of my theory, so that you can determine for
yourself whether or not you think it holds weight.
I have organised all of the information under specific headings designed to make everything more accessible. Each section focuses on a particular aspect of the main theory. Even if you think that some of what you are reading may not be relevant, I can assure you that everything written here has been included as an important part of a much larger puzzle, and so I would advise that you patiently make your way through the entirety of the post. In an effort to ensure that your time invested here is appropriately rewarded, and in the spirit of preserving the scientific method, I have tried to keep flavor text and blind speculation down to an absolute minimum.
Note that I will be listing various aspects of this post as being confirmed correct or incorrect as and when we have official information to verify such facts. So here we are, after five long years of waiting, the inevitable release of
Starfield, like the event horizon of some nearby black hole, is almost upon us. With the Showcase now a mere 24 hours away, it is time for us to take a look at what makes this particular game so special, as well as discovering just how we will be given the means to fly among the stars.
And so, without further ado, let us begin.
Hitchhiker's Guide From watching gameplay footage, and also listening to various devs talk about Starfield, we know that at some along the early part of the story, we will find ourselves on board a
Constellation Starship, which is appropriately named
Frontier. With us on the ship is
VASCO, an adorable robot assistant who will eventually become one of our possible companions. But how did we even end up on this ship? Well firstly, I do not believe that Frontier is
our ship, or at least not at first. And so, we’re probably here in the capacity of a ‘guest’ of some kind, or more likely, a hitchhiker.
If we take a look at
this scene, we first hear a male shouting
“that’s the Crimson Fleet!” and then a female saying
“Everybody get ready!” After this, we can see that the group we are with is attacked. We already know that we uncover some kind of
unknown artifact whilst
mining for ore near the beginning of the Main Quest, and that the aforementioned Crimson Fleet is essentially an organised collective of space pirates. But what we don’t know is
why they attacked us. This is not something I will be diving into in this particular post, although I do have some theories about this. But the relevance of the series of events here described cannot be understated, as they seem to be the launching point for our entry into Constellation and the adventures that follow.
Next, if we look a little further, we can see that
this seemingly-important member of Constellation is not with us when we arrive at their
Headquarters on
Jemison, which suggests that he may have been killed during the above mentioned attack. Also note that, in-spite of not having a voiced protagonist this time round, we can clearly hear
somebody talking over Frontier’s comms system, which means that there must be a designated pilot. Given the fact that we don’t see anyone who is
confirmed as being the pilot (although it may actually be
this person), it is safe to assume that this designated individual was with us during the flight but was first injured in the attack on the planet’s surface and was then taken to Medical Bay after we successfully land on Jemison.
It is my belief that, after perhaps being exposed to some kind of energy pulse from a grenade or something similar, the first member of Constellation we see was outright killed (hence why we are then asked to join up ourselves, perhaps to take over his role). The pilot, however, clearly survived as we can hear him talking to Control over the comms system during what is actually an extended two-way conversation, but I think that his
vision was somehow compromised so that, even though he is able to speak, he is temporarily unable to see. The good news about this most unfortunate situation is that it opens the door for us to quickly step into the hot seat and, with the pilot acting as our guide, we will experience our very first
Starfield flight tutorial.
Radio Chatter If you listen to the beginning of both the
Official Teaser Trailer and
Official Gameplay Reveal for Starfield, you will hear both halves of the radio conversation I have referenced above, or at least the parts of it that Bethesda have given us so far. The first of these is spoken by somebody being referred to as
Control, and the second by Frontier’s pilot. I previously
posted a link to an audio I made and put up on
Soundcloud, which gives us all of the confirmed parts of this conversation carefully spliced together and enhanced for clarity. Note that some of the audio, despite these enhancements, is a little hard to make out.
The final, in-game conversation is going to be a fair bit longer than what we have here and will be based on the specific processes that are required before attempting a
Grav Jump. I don’t think we will hear this conversation every time we perform a Jump (especially given that our protagonist does not speak), but the first time we experience this early step-out moment, a detailed and appropriate pre-launch conversation will only serve to enhance what I’m sure will be an awe-inspiring experience.
Note that, at the end of this post, I have provided a link to a written transcript detailing what I think is being said in the full version of the above conversation. In the meantime, here is a breakdown of the confirmed parts of this audio. This is slightly different from the version I previously posted, due to new evidence clarifying exactly what is being said here. I have left line-spaces to help show where the missing parts of the audio will eventually go:
PILOT: "Control this is Constellation Starship Frontier." CONTROL: "Constellation Starship Frontier, we have you on scanners." PILOT: "We're ready to start on your signal." CONTROL: "Performing Road Systems check. Helium-3 tanks, check. Seals are intact." PILOT: "Maintaining Exit Vector course, Steady 'till Ready." CONTROL: "We are still go." PILOT: "Coordinates input, plotting Jump course." CONTROL: "We read you Constellation." PILOT: "Sky-Bus is converged, we're looking good." CONTROL: "Jemison route looks good." PILOT: "Allocating Auxiliary Reactor Power." CONTROL: "Prepare for departure. Graviton Loop Array Spool, check." PILOT: "System checks are green across the board." CONTROL: "Your space Lane is clear." PILOT: "Grav Jump commencing in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1." Road-Trip At first, this seems like a typical, albeit futuristic version of an Air Traffic Control conversation. After all, much of what is being said does sound very familiar, and the rest seems appropriate to Starfield’s apparent Hard Science Fiction theme. But it’s only when you start digging a little deeper that you realize that something else is going on here as well.
Note the following terms taken from the above transcript:
Road,
Exit,
Course,
Coordinates,
Bus,
Route,
Departure and
Lane. All these words share a very noticeable common theme. They are all in some way related to
Road Networks. Note also the phrase “
green across the board," which sounds like it could also be a reference to
Traffic Lights.
Zooming Along Next, let’s look at
this map, which features the home of a certain
Software Development Company you may have heard of. If you zoom out a fair bit, you will see two large Cities, namely
Washington and
Baltimore. Zoom out a little more, and you can now see the cities of
Richmond to the South and
Pittsburgh to the North-West. Zoom back in over any of these four major cities, and you will see that there are many more smaller locations within each of the city limits.
Now scroll the map over to any of the areas outside of these cities, and you will find a multitude of other important locations. These include
residential areas,
airports,
medical facilities,
sports and leisure facilities,
research facilities,
manufacturing facilities, tech companies,
supermarkets),
hotels,
places of worship, and many others. All the above locations are important in one way of another to the continued functioning of our society, and all can be placed within two distinct categories. These are
Population Centers and
Infrastructure.
You’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat Now imagine that there has been some kind of
catastrophic flood in this area, and all these locations, although somehow miraculously intact, are now separated from each other as a series of individual islands in the middle of a newly formed ‘ocean’. Suddenly, the existing Road Network, along with any cars, busses, and other road vehicles, would become useless. You would need to use a completely different system, one designed to properly accommodate these changes, which would of course have to incorporate such elements as
harbors,
shipping routes, and
vehicles capable of travelling along a waterway.
Now let’s zoom out again, this time further. Much,
much, further. Each location has now been transformed into either a
planet or a
moon, spread across various star systems covering a vast region of space. Each one of these planets and moons will have its own individual features, resources, possible inhabitants, and infrastructure requirements. With such a quantum leap in terms of scale, if we
now wanted to travel between these locations, which could in many cases end up being several light years apart, we are going to need something far bigger in terms of scale, complexity, and technology.
Shown In 60 Seconds During the
first ever 60 seconds of Starfield footage we all saw, shown in the form of the
Official Announcement Teaser at the end of
BE3 on June 11th 2018 (which redditor
InToddWeTrust2023 has very nicely referenced
here), we were given some surprisingly important clues which now form the cornerstone of this theory. Not only have these clues stacked up with every consecutive trailer released, as well as many of the other official videos and various other snippets of information, but their sheer level of consistency places them well outside the realm of possible coincidence.
Some of these additional clues were given to us in the two videos referenced above which contain the comms audio. The second of these two videos, namely the
Official Gameplay Reveal, dropped, as would be expected, at the end of
last year’s Showcase on June 12th 2022. Some of the most crucial information we have been given to date regarding my theory is actually contained in the 70 seconds shown
before Todd even begins to speak. We will discuss the relevance of all of this a little further on in the post.
Lo-go/no go First, some Space related terminology. In Mission Control speak, a
Launch Status Check, also known as a
go/no go poll, is part of a very carefully designed system implemented by US Space Agencies to ensure maximum safety and the best possible survival chance of both the ship and its crew prior to launch. This, or something similar, will undoubtedly form an integral part of the pre-launch, or rather, pre-
Jump procedures incorporated into Starfield, especially given what we know in relation to its specific
influences, attention to detail, and focus on realism.
But let's look for a moment at a different type of launch. Let's look at the process of carefully managing the flow of information when you are launching a long-awaited, multi-million-dollar triple-A video game and you happen to be a major player. With the combined might of
Bethesda,
Zenimax, and now
Microsoft, there is clearly a great deal of scope in terms of how they were able to execute all of the steps involved in this process. One critically important factor, and one that has been masterfully implemented in the promotion of Starfield, is the use of familiar iconography.
If we look at the iconography seen during the promotion of Starfield, we can see that there are two main elements. These are the circular
Starfield logo, first unveiled in 2018, and of course the recently updated
Bethesda Games Studios logo, which has existed in various iterations since around 2006. Both of these share a common, simplistic yet effective design, and the BGS logo in particular is now light years ahead of its
original design as seen on box art and in promotional materials for
The Elder Scrolls VI Oblivion. At the time of Oblivion’s release, the long-term use of this particular logo, which incorporates the now familiar
Fallout Vault Door, was a little uncertain due to restrictions with the associated licence (more on this below). But once this matter had been resolved, it would make a lot of sense that they would then develop this logo into the much sharper, more modern version we see today.
Licenced to Fly Way back in April of 2007, Bethesda realized one of their biggest long-term business goals by finally securing the
full rights to the highly acclaimed Fallout series. Prior to this, in 2004, they had been granted limited rights which would allow them to develop
Fallout 3 and then two additional games, but they clearly wanted
full and unrestricted access to the franchise and all of its assets. Since this time, in addition to Fallout 3, we have seen the release of
Fallout New Vegas,
Fallout 4, and
Fallout 76, as well as a number of smaller projects, including
Fallout Shelter. This is all the proof you need to confirm the fact that, in-spite of some initial setbacks, Bethesda’s insistence on going the extra mile with regards to securing the full franchise, was most definitely worth it, and was seen by many as a landmark achievement.
Looking at the most recent entry to this ever-expanding series, namely Fallout 76, I would like to draw your attention to two of this particular game’s trailers. First, we have the
Fallout 76 Official Trailer from 2018, and then
The Pitt Story Trailer from 2022. In the first of these two trailers, at around the
35 second mark, we see the new BGS logo once again, and then near the end of the video we see a smaller version, neatly tucked away over on the left-hand side of the usual copyright notice. If we then look at the second trailer, at around… Hold on a second, let me rewind that a bit… wait, what?
This is where things start to get really interesting.
One Small Step Okay, going back to the Fallout 76 trailers, although the smaller version of the BGS logo can be seen at or near the end of each of these, only the first incorporates the larger, ‘splash-screen’ version. “
But why is this even important?” you may ask. “
They may have simply forgotten to include this detail in the second trailer.” I can assure you that this is most certainly
not the case. In fact, I am one-hundred-percent confident that this was quite intentional. I would even go as far as saying that this one, seemingly insignificant detail, actually brings us a step closer to unlocking the secrets of Starfield. Essentially, Bethesda have taken full advantage of how we all
think we remember certain details, and as such, this is an example of truly expert-level hidden marketing on their part. I also believe it will form the basis of at least one of the big reveals during the showcase.
One Giant Leap Let’s go back one more time to the
Announcement Teaser and the
Gameplay Reveal for Starfield. Look at how drastically different the BGS logo is in
both of these videos compared to any of those used in promoting Fallout 76. What will really blow your mind here is the fact that all four of the trailers mentioned above were first shown to us during the
same two Showcases we have just been discussing! In other words, the first of these videos for both Fallout 76 and Starfield were both unveiled at the 2018 Showcase, and the second of each at the 2022 Showcase. And yet each respective pair make use of drastically different versions of what we all thought was the exact same logo. This means that Starfield has been designed, from the ground up, to be viewed and experienced in a totally different way than, and completely separate from, any of Bethesda’s previous titles.
To clarify this point, after extensive research, I can confirm that this new, animated BGS logo, with the vault door rolling off to the left and then ‘opening up’ just before the text appears,
has never been featured anywhere in an official capacity that is not directly related to Starfield. It is completely unique to this specific IP. This fact ties together everything we have looked at in the post so far. It also lets us see things from a completely different ‘orbital’ perspective. For example, I believe that this information gives us the
real reason why Bethesda worked so hard to secure the full rights to the Fallout franchise in the way that they did. Not only did they wish to create awesome games set within the Fallout universe, but they also needed total freedom to make use of a specific part of this franchise that so that they could then incorporate it into their next, very
very big, space related IP.
For Mankind Okay. This is the part you’ve all been waiting so patiently for. This is the big reveal. For months now, perhaps even years, we have all been drip-fed the idea that Starfield is essentially “
Skyrim in Space.” The reason I think that we have been told this is to misdirect us away from an intrinsic, interwoven connection between Starfield and Bethesda’s other major franchise, which is of course Fallout. But just to put your mind at rest, I do not for a nanosecond believe that the reveal will be, “
We fooled you all, it’s actually Fallout in space!” no matter how cool that might at first sound.
What I do believe is that Starfield will be
so different and
so unique when viewed alongside anything else that Bethesda have published, that it will quite literally take your breath away.
This game,
the spark of which was first ignited 25 years ago, is Todd Howard’s true passion project. Everything else was simply the path he took to finally get here. This is the story he has always wanted to tell, the story of Mankind’s true legacy. And it all starts, just as it did when Interplay released the original
Fallout) game back in 1997, with a familiar, but staggeringly different Vault Door.
The Vault There is a very special and completely unique
hidden Vault in Starfield. Not only is this particular Vault unlike anything you have previously seen anywhere within the
Fallout universe, but it is also unlike anything you have seen in
any game. Period.
This hidden Vault is actually the key to both interstellar and interplanetary travel. And it also happens to be the
single biggest construction project in human history, extending across a span of almost one-hundred light years. And it is not even close to being completed, even after more than two-hundred years of construction.
This Vault is, by its very nature,
completely invisible and shielded away from view. It is quite literally hidden in plain sight, and it can only be accessed through one of its specially crafted Vault Doors. But what does all of this mean for gameplay, and how does something like this even work? I’m glad you asked! Let’s strap in and prepare for launch, because we’re all in for an incredible ride.
Welcome, ladies and gentlemen... to The Starfield
Entering The Starfield The following is my own interpretation, based on scientific reasoning and a huge amount of detailed analysis, of exactly how I think this system works. It is, as ever, backed up with several links throughout, as well as additional evidence for which I shall provide a separate link at end of the post. I am expecting perhaps some differences in terms of specific details once we get hold of the final release of Starfield, but I am confident that I am at the very least well within the ballpark with all of this. Okay, here goes.
The Science Behind the Magic Starfield is the name given to a vast network of interconnecting tunnels, spanning the entirety of the Settled Systems, providing us with a very fast and highly practical means of travelling between different planets, and even different star systems. These tunnels exist within a localized, folded state, known as
Tunnel-Space. The construction of the Starfield is made possible thanks to a technological breakthrough which allows gravitational waves (or
Gravitons) to be woven together to form something known as a
Gravity-Tunnel, which is then stretched out and connected between any two existing stellar objects, such as two planets in a given system, of even two stars from different systems.
In order to maintain the integrity of each tunnel, it is wrapped in a special type of
Exotic Matter known as
Superfluid Helium. This has a number of highly unusual properties, including
negative energy density and
negative energy pressure. This essentially makes it the physical-space equivalent of time going in reverse, meaning that it is capable of counteracting the effects of any conventional physical force, including
the gravitational pull of a black hole. As such, it will hold the structure of the Gravity-Tunnel together for an indefinite period of time over a potentially infinite distance through space.
Within the Starfield are a large number of
Nodes and Junction Points. Nodes are used to connect together all of the planets in any one Star System, and Junction Points then connect different Star Systems together, making use of much larger Gravity-Tunnels that are the equivalent of
Interstate Highways. Note that all flight between any given planet and any or all of its moons is handled locally, outside of the Starfield.
Because all of the stars, planets, and moons in the Settled Systems are in a constant state of flux, by which I mean their relative
distance and
positions) are constantly changing in respect to each other, the tunnels within the Starfield have been designed to be able to expand and contract almost infinitely so that they can accommodate any changes in these two factors depending on when, where, and how you travel.
Although the main tunnels are designed to transport people, resources, waste, and other items directly relating to either Population Centers or Infrastructure, I believe there is also a
sub-system) that will allow much smaller objects, such as probes, to carry
data-packets that can be upload at one location and then downloaded at another, effectively solving the problem of inoperable delays in communication between remote locations.
Inside of each Gravity-Tunnel is a bi-directional
singularity, which can be switched between two opposite
polarities whenever required with the help of the surrounding Exotic Matter, allowing for two-way traffic inside what is essentially a one-way system. This means that, as long as you are able to ensure the correct polarity of all connecting Nodes and Junction Points along your route (as in “
Sky-Bus is converged” and “
Jemison route looks good”), you will be able to travel, in theory at least, from any point A to any point B, as long as all of the required interconnections exist within the system.
When travelling through the Starfield, you will set a specific route, known as a
Sky-Bus, which is a specified pathway that runs from your staring location to your destination. You will then, with the help of
Starfield Control, access the tunnels using a
Gating System which I will explain below. Incidentally, I believe that the accepted in-universe name for the actual transit network that we are making use of within the Starfield is the
Sky-Bus Tunnel System.
Each tunnel in this system actually has two separate ‘Lanes’, one on the left for outbound traffic, and one on the right for incoming traffic. As I have explained above, each of these tunnels can only accommodate a single direction of traffic flow at any given time. And so, a safety measure had to be incorporated to prevent any accidental attempts to travel the wrong way down a tunnel and destroying yourself and your ship.
At each end of any given Node or Junction Point is a
Gate. These are the ‘Vault Doors’ I have been referring to. The Gate comprises of a gigantic metal outer-ring connecting to an inner Vault Door. This Vault Door will either be at the center (closed position), or the left (open position) of the outer ring. The open/left position will allow outbound traffic to leave the orbit of the current planet they are in proximity to. To allow inbound traffic, the entire outer ring, with the Vault Door locked in place, will rotate clockwise through 180 degrees to the open/right position to allow access to the inbound Lane. When the outbound Lane is then once again required, the structure then continues to rotate in a clockwise motion until it reaches the open/left position once again. When required, the Vault Door will return to the neutral position at the center of the ring, and the tunnel will be locked.
Regarding Grav Jumps: Whenever you wish to perform a Grav-Jump, you must first request permission from Starfield Control, who will guide you through the process. Once the route is set and your Exit Gate is locked in place, by activating your ship’s Grav-Drive, along with it’s incorporated spooling system, you will first lock on to the front of the tunnel entrance.
Next, using a system similar to an
Aircraft Catapult, you will be pulled into the tunnel at great speed, where the Graviton Loop Array will hold your ship in-place inside the tunnel, and will also ensure you don’t accidentally go down the wrong path. At the other end, the spooling system described above then acts as an
Arresting Cable, slowing you down over a very short distance.
If all of the above is actually correct, especially the last part, then I think I will be having
this on repeat in the background before Grav-Jumps!
Finally, here is the
link to my additional supporting evidence and other materials, including some stuff I haven’t had a chance to really go into yet. Feel free to throw any questions at me, and I’ll do my best to answer them. In the meantime, Showcase will commence in 24 Hours…

2023.06.10 19:07 Atari__Safari BUG: What happened to the previous Interceptors? And people's bases? And named planets and systems?
So since I can't finish the expedition, I decided to go retrieve my previous interceptors from my last saved game. I have made detailed notes of every interceptor I found, with links to the posts I made to the
NMSGlyphExchange sub.
But when I go to those systems, the names of the system and planets have been reset. There were bases there, but not any longer.
AND, the planet is no longer dissonant. In the galactic map, the system is not dissonant? Did everything get reset?

2023.06.10 18:53 fatefuldawn I Finished a No Somniel Ironman Run on Maddening!
I can't believe it. So a No Somniel run pretty much means that during the run, all activities that are done in the Somniel are banned. There are several combat-related implications of this - no refining weapons (no early strong weapons like a Levin Sword until Ch. 11 for example and can only use base weapons), no engravings, no Bond Rings, no cooking, no activities, no Well, and no Arena. The early Steel weapons that you get upon going to the Somniel from an update are banned as well as the Heroes rewards (the Bond Rings and the weapons, Folkvangr, Fensalir, and Noatun). No Arena means that leveling up the bond rank of Emblems on each character will have to be done in the maps themselves and skill inherits are impossible. Reclassing is still possible, but more difficult now that you have to level up bond ranks in maps and because weapon proficiencies past bond rank 5 will need at least two maps with the Emblem Ring. No DLC either, but that doesn't impact me since I don't have it anyway. And while it's not a Somniel activity, I didn't have Network Connection enabled for the weapon drops, EXP, and other small benefits scattered on a map. I had finished a normal Ironman run with no big issues (one death, RIP Louis), but I went into this run fully expecting to lose it. An Ironman means no using the Draconic Time Crystal, so no rewinding my mistakes and every input I make is final. If a character dies because of my poor decisions or they get crit by the enemy, they remain dead.
Run casualties:
- Chloe: Died in Ch. 6. Fog of war claimed another life. Chloe got hit by an axe fighter and a thief that I didn't have vision of. It was entirely my mistake to overextend with her when I could've just played it safe. I was going to use Chloe this run as an early carry before likely transitioning her to a more support based role if her combat couldn't keep up.
- Yunaka: Died in Ch. 8. Overall, I think Chloe's death kinda snowballed the deaths in Ch. 8. Going into this chapter, I lost a character that was going to be one of my early carries. Lapis was Chloe's replacement, but I needed to get staff proficiency on her just in case I was going to pivot her to a support later (especially since I can't get staff proficiency for a long time after Ch. 10). Lapis therefore had to have Micaiah for several maps and I tried to continue using Marth on Alear on Ch. 8 instead as a carry. However, because of my poor timing of Engage attacks and just being badly positioned because I was unprepared for when Kagetsu and Zelkov started moving, I got myself in a situation that required me to hit a 65% to defeat Kagetsu. Missed the 65% and Yunaka died to him.
- Framme: Died in Ch. 8. I didn't have Lodestar Rush or enough power in general to take down Ivy in one turn. But I had to start taking down her health bars eventually otherwise I would have game over'ed since enemies would've reached the target point. As such, almost all of my units were in range of Ivy at that point and she had free reign to choose whoever she wanted to kill. In the end, she chose to Killer Axe crit Framme to death (Framme would've died even without the crit).
- Celine: Died in Ch. 10. I'm really mad at myself for this death because Celine died on turn one. I calculated how much damage she would take from the armor and pegasus knight on the left if they both hit her and concluded if Celine was next to Alear, she would live at 1 HP. Well, she didn't live at 1 HP because I didn't account for the Resonance damage from having Celica on her. And of course both the armor and pegasus knight hit their 50% attacks. Celine was my only early game carry because Chloe had died. And now she was dead on turn one of a difficult 2-part map.
- Diamant: Died in Ch. 10. Got frozen by Hortensia and I couldn't get in range to Restore him without risking Alear's death to Hortensia's Dragon effective Luin. However, I did forget to have him equip a lighter weapon and because he had the armorslayer equipped, he got doubled by Hortensia and died. I don't fully remember if he could've lived if he wasn't doubled by Hortensia (because there were other enemies around him), but I'm still frustrated at myself for letting that happen. I don't know if it's just me, but I always have trouble with taking down Hortensia in this chapter; on my normal Ironman run, I had to resort to freezing her due to a lucky early Freeze staff from the Well, but alas, no such resources like that exist in a No Somniel run.
RIP Chloe, Yunaka, Framme, Celine, and Diamant.
The Final Team:
Some quick notes - the screenshot on the top has HP tonics already applied to everyone so subtract 5 if you want to see their true HP. That was the first thing I did when I went into the final map and then thought maybe I should screenshot everyone. The screenshot on the bottom has everyone with their Emblem Rings and full tonics applied to them.
- Martial Master Alear (Lucina): I really like support Alear and having them as the Bonded Shielder has worked wonders in my previous playthroughs. I figured that I would need Alear's +3 flat damage for my carries and since they support everyone in the cast, they provide +10 hit for free as well. I chose to go with Martial Master Alear because my combat carries were going to be in several different class types and I wanted the flexibility to have 100% activation rate on Bonded Shield for all of them if the need arises. I also really like Chain Guard. As such, in early game, I fed Alear experience through Mercurius farming and then gave them Micaiah to get staff proficiency and to farm via Great Sacrifice. By Ch. 11, Alear was a Griffin Knight because I believe having Alear in a flying class in Ch. 11 is invaluable so you can quickly reach the point on the map to trigger Ivy, Zelkov, and Kagetsu to join you before you get overwhelmed by Corrupted with Emblems. After staying a few more chapters in Griffin (until I could give Alear Lucina after getting sword proficiency off of her on another character), Alear became a Martial Master and mainly Bonded Shielded or Chain Guarded. Not being able to Micaiah Engrave a Shielding Art to drive enemy hit rates close to 0% meant that I had to be more cognizant of where I used Bonded Shield. The enemy AI mostly decides which character to attack based on expected damage (combination of actual damage they'll do in a round of combat, how likely it is they'll hit, and their crit chance on you is also factored in). So when Bonded Shielding, I had to make sure that Alear was not going to get targeted and if they were, that they were not going to get killed from it. As such, it wasn't as simple as plop two units down and go to town deleting enemies, but it was still really strong nonetheless.
Stat Boosters: One Boots, one Seraph Robe, one Speedwing, three Dracoshields, three Talismans, two Goddess Icons
- Wyvern Knight Amber (Lyn): For Amber, I was particularly cognizant of the fact that in my previous normal Ironman run, he sometimes had 90% hit rates in the endgame despite having a +hit rate engraving on his lances. That's why I decided to go with sword/lance Wyvern instead of axe/lance Wyvern even though it would've been easier to get axe proficiency on him (axe proficiency is at bond rank 2 on Leif while any sword proficiency requires at least bond rank 6, which means at least two maps worth of using a specific Emblem vs. just one). That decision really paid off. Amber was mostly using swords throughout the midgame of this playthrough because he wasn't getting 90%+ hit on lances even while I was activating his personal for +20 hit. I can only imagine his hit rates while using axes... it just spells disaster if a crucial attack misses in an Ironman (Yunaka's death...). If I saw Amber's hit rate really going into the gutter by the endgame, I was prepared to have him switch to Sniper and just kill fliers, but that never ended up happening especially after I used all my Secret Books on him (none of my other combat characters could use them since many of them capped dex and for those that didn't, they were accurate anyway). Amber remained good throughout even though by endgame, he rarely one-rounded enemies.
Stat Boosters: One Energy Drop, three Secret Books, one Speedwing
- Warrior Kagetsu (Roy): I had my sights set on getting Kagetsu into Warrior despite Wyvern being easier to reclass into and still a strong class for him because I felt I needed the absolute best out of my units to get through this run (and I believe Warrior is Kagetsu's best class). Getting him into Warrior was a bit of an endeavor, but having to delegate an Emblem to Kagetsu wasn't going to make the game harder; on the contrary, it likely made things easier because Kagetsu is such a strong unit to start with. Kagetsu immediately got Lyn for Ch. 12 and 13 to get bow proficiency. This worked out for me in a lot of ways because Ch. 12 is an easy chapter so Emblem allocation isn't that important to get through the map. Plus, Lyn on Kagetsu for Ch. 12 doubles the Wolf Knights once you get two Speedtaker stacks so I found it quite nice having Lyn on him. And my strategy for Ch. 13 always involved Lyn on Kagetsu (see my chapter thoughts in the comments) anyway. Now, he's got bow proficiency just in time for Ch. 14, where Ike immediately goes on Kagetsu to get axe proficiency. And soon after, he's a Warrior and just snowballed from there. I was initially a bit worried about using axes at all in this playthrough considering their low base hit rates (I was prepared to pivot Kagetsu into Wyvern and have him use swords if I needed to), but Kagetsu had 100% hit rate with a Silver Axe often. His Longbow was accurate too (same base hit rate as Silver Axe). Overall, Kagetsu snowballed hard. And when I got Roy on him, and eventually the Binding Blade unlocked, he could clear entire groups of enemies by himself (cleared the entire top lane of Ch. 24 himself with just a healer nearby). After this run, I wholeheartedly believe Roy is Kagetsu's best Emblem and it reaffirms my belief that Warrior is Kagetsu's best class. He just hits so hard with axes and doesn't take much damage either. Wyvern's great for Kagetsu, but really, try him in Warrior if you get the chance. He won't need crits to one-round, only a Silver Axe. If he can cleanly one-round a ton of endgame enemies with just a base Silver Axe and no inherits on this kind of challenge run, actually forging a Silver Axe up a bit and maybe giving it an engrave should achieve similar or better results than what I got as I'm pretty sure my Kagetsu is about average strength-wise (+1 strength than average if I calculated correctly, he got two Energy Drops and is overleveled which is why his strength looks astronomical). My Kagetsu was speed screwed (speed and build were lower than average in the midgame) for nearly the entire run because he should've capped speed way before looping and he didn't cap until after looping in Warrior. That actually mattered a few times and it made me really miss having Speed+X on him, but it wasn't something I couldn't work around and he was a powerhouse regardless.
Stat Boosters: One Boots, one Seraph Robe, two Energy Drops
- Mage Knight Pandreo (Marth): After I got Pandreo, I immediately gave him Lucina to get sword proficiency to switch into Mage Knight. He did pretty well in Mage Knight, but it wasn't until after getting partway through Ch. 17 (gave him Eirika so he got bond rank 3 for Bravery at that moment and got the Bolganone that Griss drops), where he really started to snowball. After that, he could consistently one-round a lot of enemies without help until Ch. 20. Unfortunately, that's when his speed cap in Mage Knight caught up and in the endgame, 31 base speed that is not quite enough without a bit of speed boosting from an Emblem considering I cannot inherit Speed+X. In the last couple of chapters, I mostly used Marth (sometimes switched to Eirika) on Pandreo. Marth has some +speed stat boosts innately and can boost damage as well if Engaged via Divine Speed providing an additional attack at 50% damage. Using Marth on a magic unit was something I did before when I played around and used Mage Knight Kagetsu lol It worked well then and it worked well now. This Mage Knight Pandreo's stats besides magic have actually been the least impressive I've had so far. I think his magic is maybe around +2 to +3 above average though (I forget what level I class changed him from High Priest to Mage Knight), which more than makes up for his other stat deficiencies. I'm just surprised he didn't cap dex or resistance by the end of the game when he usually does. Nonetheless, Pandreo was a powerhouse and carried the run like Kagetsu even though I couldn't just send him into a group of enemies without being covered by Bonded Shield and know he'll live whilst taking them all down (unless it's a group of enemies with Great weapons he can double, those are fodder to Pandreo).
Stat Boosters: Three Spirit Dusts
- Warrior Merrin (Eirika): Unlike with Kagetsu, I didn't go through four whole maps of raising bond ranks up for Merrin to change classes. That's because she'll probably end up being able to change into Warrior by Ch. 18 if I did that. Meanwhile, if I just waited until Ch. 17 to get Leif back, I would have Warrior Merrin in time for Ch. 19. It's a one chapter lag for a huge team power difference from Ch. 14 through 17 as one of my stronger units wouldn't be able to use Lyn or Ike. Merrin mostly chipped as a Wolf Knight and even when I got her into Warrior, she still was chipping (occasionally, she would one-shot fliers with the Radiant Bow) because her damage wasn't good enough and she was under the level curve. Plus, her hit rates were shaky for a good amount of time. However, I wanted her to be more so I kept feeding her kills whenever I could and I gave her Eirika after I got Marth back. With Eirika, she could sometimes do some great damage with a Brave Axe (and Eirika's damage boost helped her hit some one-round thresholds with a bow on magical enemies, that's how low her damage output was). But once she got access to Sieglinde, she could finally one-round some endgame enemies due to effective damage.
Stat Boosters: One Speedwing
- Thief Zelkov (Byleth): Bought a Short Knife just for him because I didn't want this unlucky guy to get randomly crit if he faced any combat, but in hindsight with all the luck that Byleth provides, maybe that wasn't necessary. Byleth on a covert gives +5 speed when Instructing and after a Goddess Dance and considering that I cannot inherit Speed+X on my characters, I knew I was going to need the speed buff since the speed thresholds get really high on Maddening. In the end, that speed buff wasn't needed for my primary carries (Kagetsu and Pandreo) until Ch. 20, but after that, it really was needed. Pandreo caps speed in Mage Knight at 31 (so with a speed tonic, Special Dance from Seadall, and Chaos Style activated, Pandreo can only naturally double enemies that are at 34 speed or below) and Kagetsu caps speed in Warrior at 35 (so with a speed tonic, Special Dance from Seadall, and while Engaged with Roy, Kagetsu can only naturally double enemies that are at 38 speed or below). From what I saw, enemy speed can reach up to 44 so that Instruct was absolutely needed so that they could double enemies up to 39 or 43 speed respectively.
- Dancer Seadall (Sigurd): I don't think there's much to say about Seadall except that I put Sigurd on him because I only have one Canter to give out and having it on a dancer felt like the most useful. I can't use Override, but that's a small price to pay for the flexibility in positioning for Goddess Dances.
- Sage Citrinne (Corrin): Citrinne replaced Celine's role as an early game carry after Celine's death. While she only really had one map to shine (Ch. 11), she really did shine in that map. I luckily had the foresight to get a melee weapon proficiency on Citrinne in case I needed to make her a Mage Knight. I could've promoted her to Sage, but I compared the stats and saw that Mage Knight Citrinne would double a lot of enemies on Ch. 11's map and that's what I needed at the time. Citrinne put in a lot of work that map, immediately one-rounding the first axe fighter (if not for Roy's Hold Out). I had Citrinne stay in Mage Knight for several chapters as she was my best option for a magical carry for some time (Pandreo was stuck in High Priest for several chapters while having Lucina equipped before he can reclass) and her performance was pretty good. If I kept using her for combat and gave her resources like Lyn, I feel she would've turned out great. But in the end, Citrinne reclassed to Sage once I got Corrin because she was one of my few units that could be in a Mystical class (no tome proficiency to work towards either for a long time) and pivoted into a support role after that (which was my intention with Celine once I reached that point). She was great nonetheless. Corrin on a Mystical unit is a tried and true combo that I really like because it means being able to debuff and freeze enemies in place from three range (especially important now that I don't have Canter), and the Fire Dragon Vein is the most useful one imo. In all honesty, I didn't use the Fire Dragon Vein much to ward enemies off. My combat carries were strong enough that I rarely needed it. As such, it was mostly spammed to raise Corrin's bond rank. But it was still great to have that option in my back pocket in case I needed it.
- Griffin Knight Lapis: Lapis replaced Chloe, but not as well as Citrinne replaced Celine. I couldn't really use Lapis much in combat because she had to have Micaiah equipped to get staff proficiency in the early game. I think I messed up and didn't focus enough on leveling Lapis's bond rank with Micaiah because she had to keep Micaiah all the way until Ch. 11 to get the proficiency. But tbf to myself, I nearly lost the run on Ch. 8 so leveling up bond rank wasn't on the forefront of my mind. By Ch. 11, there was no real justification I could make to try to make her combat work. As like any other staff user, she did her job.
- Cupido Fogado: I was unable to get Fogado off the ground in this playthrough. He was alright up to around when I did Roy's Paralogue as he could still one-shot the Wyverns there with a Radiant Bow even if his hit rates were in the 70s (had to just make sure to have a backup plan if he did miss, which he did a few times); but soon after that, I couldn't consistently find ways to have him contribute and he was left in the dust. I still brought him into the final chapter because maybe some of the chip damage he could do to fliers would help and I felt like I had enough staff users (he actually was helpful in two occasions on the final map!).
- Lindwurm Ivy (Ike): I probably would've used Ivy as a carry if not for the fact that she faces crit from nearly every enemy. Her inaccuracy with tomes is a problem as well, but I didn't need her to chip too often. Essentially, no engravings to fix these issues meant she was relegated to staff duty. She did her job and I think throughout this playthrough she had higher offensive staff hit rate (Freeze, Fracture) than Hortensia most of the time, though it wasn't by a significant amount. After midgame, Ike eventually went on Ivy mainly because I have just one source of Reposition (I really missed not being able to put this skill on most of my support units) and I wanted it on a flier.
- Slepnir Rider Hortensia (Micaiah): Nothing to really say about this as it's as standard and straightforward as can be. She and Citrinne had held a Surge tome just in case I needed someone with 100% accuracy to finish off an enemy (this did happen a couple of times this playthrough).
- Griffin Knight Mauvier (Leif): He's a staff user that can luckily take a few hits because he did need to survive a few in my playthrough. I put Leif on him because Leif wasn't doing much on anyone else after the midgame. But then again, it didn't much on Mauvier either besides being used to Quadruple Strike the Dark Bishop on the final map.
- Sage Veyle (Celica): I kinda messed up because I didn't realize Veyle had access to S tomes in her Fell Child class and the main thing I wanted to do was use her with Nova. I could've saved myself the trouble of reclassing, but in the end, it was okay because reclassing to Sage does increase Veyle's offensive stats. I do miss out on the Fell Child class skill (which is quite nice), but getting Celica Engage back is low priority anyway so the trade-off was fine. Since my team lacked a second source of magic damage, Veyle was helpful as someone who can do a lot of damage with magic. She didn't one-round a lot of enemies, but her performance was satisfactory.
Stat Boosters: One Seraph Robe, one Speedwing
In comments below, I detail my thoughts on the individual chapters if anyone's interested (starting from Ch. 6 since that's the first chapter where something actually happened and where I also had a clear goal in mind for the map). I never thought I would successfully complete this run so I don't have any screenshots to chronicle events from before Ch. 24-ish (also, I forgot to screenshot too many things). I unfortunately don't remember the exact details of the early/midgame chapters that well anymore, but I tried my best to recall whatever information I could. This is listed by the order I tackled the maps. A full turn count, playtime, and MVP list is

2023.06.10 18:47 estevenot My restraining order
I (19f) am dating my bf (19m) for a couple months now. Due to our families we decided to move in with each other. We were happy and decided to move in with his best friend and his cousin. We’ll call her Sara. whom were engaged. It started off fine the first couple of days but one night it all flipped. We started to notice that his best friend and his gf would fight and argue every night. This meant Sara would start screaming, punching the floor, beating her head on the wall, and threatening to kill herself in front of everyone including any guest we had over. One night while she was screaming, her 2 year old dog attacked my 9 week old puppy. I and my bf had watched her dog attack mine out of no where. She was not puppy friendly because of all the attention he was getting. Sara and her bf both came running out. Her bf grabbed the dog and punished her for attacking my dog while Sara stood there and called me a liar while my back was turned. She then tries to take my bleeding dog out of my arms over and over. I had told her to stop and finally said to F off. She then proceeded to try and hit me in the back of the head but my bf gets in between the two of us since I had no idea what was going on because I was paying attention to my puppy. She then head butts my bf in the face and he pins her down telling her to calm down. She calls her mom and sister to come over (they are not allowed over because of the substances they chose to be on). Her sister came over while we were gone with a baseball bat threatening to beat mine and my bfs head in. We come back home and she just falls asleep and acts like nothing happened for the next couple of days. Over time she starts to threaten me and my dog because her bf told her what she did was wrong. We decided after a couple more interactions like that, that we would start getting evidence of everything that was going on just in case. Thank god we did. Fast forward about two weeks. Me and my bf had a guest over to hang out with. He knows a little of what goes on so he left his gf at home whom we are all friends with just to be safe. She had epilepsy and can’t be around to much or she will seize up. Sara noticed that when she’s around she gets more attention because she knows me and my bf do not like her. She will start to fake pass out and tell people she’s going to die. She’ll start making up sicknesses and say that we should feel bad for her and not ourselves. This was my last straw because I have a chronic illness that does not allow me to do to many athletic sports. If I were to move to much or have an asthma attack my ribs could collapse my lungs. After this I ended up dehydrating myself so much that I got a UTI, and had to go to the hospital because it had gotten so bad that my kidneys almost got infected. This didn’t stop Sara. She then proceeds to talk about how she now has a chronic illness that’s going to disable her by 30 and that she now has cancer. None of these things are true. So I started to stay away from her. Back to the story, we have a friend over and sara and her bf start fighting. My bf managed to get a video of the fight for my restraining order that I was planning on placing. You can see in the video that her bf is just holding her with his arms and has his legs around her while she is on her back. He had done this because she grabbed some pills and said she was going to pop them. And he grabbed them and held her. She then starts to punch him in the side of the face multiple times and he wouldn’t lay a hand on her. This went of for about 3 hours and our guest decided to leave very early then the original time. Me and my bf hated hearing her scream because she would start to yell at us for no reason. So we went outside. The neighbors had called the cops and they asked a bunch of questions while Sara hid in the other room because she knew she’d messed up. She then tells me and my bf that she is going to beat my a** when the cops leave and said that one of the cops said I called them. This is not legal and I did not call them so she had lied to us and a cop. She continued to make threats and I left to press charges. I then got a restraining order the next morning and was immediately granted the emergency 10 day restraining order, because of all the proof that I had of her talking about making us get evicted. which she did manage to do because we had over 30 noise complaints about the same thing and we all knew who it was. When you place a restraining order, the officers will go out to whoever it is you place the restraining order on and immediately hand them the paper and take them off the property. We told her boyfriend what was going on and he said that was totally fine, so when I actually placed the restraining order that was when it became a problem, he decided to hide her from the cops and then take her back to the apartment after they were gone and they had told us that they had done this. Since we were getting evicted, I decided not to cause a scene and just grab some of my stuff out of the apartment and stay somewhere else until the next morning and then I was going to call the cops. as soon as we walked up the stairs She tried to run out the door and assault me in my car. Her boyfriend had grabbed her, pushed her back into the apartment, and my boyfriend went back into the apartment as well. She then continue to call me multiple names and slurs in front of my boyfriend, who slid a cup off of the countertop. It bounced off of her boyfriends chest and then hit the ground. After that she called the cops because she said that my boyfriend had hit her which did not happen. The cops were given her name, and instead of coming to get my boyfriend, they came and served her the restraining order paper, and took her to a psych ward as I write to you now, she is currently getting out of the psych ward the day after she was put into it and is trying to get her sister and her mom to come back to the apartment and attack me while everyone is working. She’s planning on breaking the restraining order once again, but we now have a camera in the apartment because if you break a restraining order you can have up to 150 days in prison. If she does show up then she will go to jail for those 150 days because of the charges that she has on her from not only me but other people. Stay safe and do research on people you decide to room with.

2023.06.10 18:45 frostadept Bargaining Book 1, Chapter 13: Speculation
“No, I’m not a spirit either.”
“But you’re a kitsune, right? I thought kitsune were fox spirits.”
“What’s ‘kitsune?’ Is it Fae for Vulpus?”
“Oh, right, I guess that’s not English. Hm. Do you know what a ninja is?”
“Well, yes, it’s a stealth class, specializing in two-handed swords with archery support.”
Shock, curiosity, excitement. Belladonna’s twin began scribbling furiously on her note paper.
Belladonna and her sister were hovering in front of a huge desk on the ground floor of Rocket’s home, behind which sat Miss Cadmea, there to tutor the twins for the first time. Miss Cadmea had no idea where to start, so opted to begin with a basic questions and answers session with the twins. And Lia, as usual, was flustering her elders with a constant stream of confusing questions.
Belladonna was thoroughly amused by the exchange.
“So, now that we’ve established that therianthropes aren’t born from animals in any way- “
“Well, technically- “
”In ANY way,” the vixen emphasized as Belladonna burst into laughter at the interruption, “are there any other questions before we begin our discussion on magic?”
“I have questions!”
Cadmea sighed. “How many questions?”
“I dunno, we’re two days old,” Liandan replied with a shrug. “A lot?”
Belladonna nodded. Lia had her odd ideas, sure, but they both had come into the world with a baseline level of knowledge.
The woman shook her head. “Okay. I’m going to do my best to educate you two, but I’ll be honest, it’s going to take a lot of learning from both of us. It’s not normal for therianthropes and humans- “
“Animals.”
“
Therianthropes and humans to know English, or much of anything for that matter, at two days old. So, we’re going to have to figure out what you don’t know, what I don’t know, and what we don’t know that we don’t know.”
Wait, don’t know what we don’t know? Ow! Just thinking about something that confusing hurt Belladonna’s brain. This must be what a headache was.
“I’m with sis on this one,” Lia interpreted. “What would we know that you don’t?”
Well, she wasn’t quite right, but close enough; it was better than trying to comprehend a loop of ’don’t know don’t know don’t knows. She offered a nod of confirmation to her twin.
“The three of us have the dubious honor of being some of the few people to have ever seen a greater god, let alone spoken with one,” Cadmea explained. “I’m sure we all have questions we can help each other with. For example, Liandan, Tetra told me to ask you to explain what a ‘multiversal supercluster’ was.”
Lia gave off a brief flash of confusion before a look of understanding fell across her face, accompanied by feelings of uncertainty and suspicion. “That’s… I have an idea, but I’m sure about it.”
“You do? So, what do you think it means then?”
Lia closed her eyes and crossed her arms, clearly deep in thought. “This is just guessing because of the name, but… hrm… could it have to do with other worlds? Is that a thing?”
“Maybe. I’ve heard the idea that the road not taken in one world is taken in another. Or at least it was, before Tetra mentioned that there are an infinite number of places that could use her help more than I could,” Cadmea said. “I used to think that was just wishful thinking some people used deal with regretting their decisions. Now I don’t know what to think.”
The grey fairy nodded. “That’s about what I figured. This is just me guessing, but a multiversal cluster like that could be something like worlds, universes, that all share a few key traits,” she explained. “Like the Earth and humans coming about, Fairies being born from flowers, the system going kaput, us meeting you, that kind of thing. That’s a bit specific, right?”
Belladonna took it back. This was WAY more confusing.
“We’re constantly making decisions,” Cadmea said. “That’s still countless worlds.”
“But still fewer than it could be. Maybe a supercluster is, like, including places don’t have much in common at all. Maybe just one thing? I couldn’t guess what though.”
Miss Cadmea flicked her ears, her tails swishing behind her. “I could. It’s all speculative, but it helps with trying to see the bigger picture. Still, thank you, Liandan. It’s pleasant having such an unexpectedly civilized conversation with you. It’s a surprisingly plausible idea for a fairy’s.”
A shared irritation flashed between the twins. What was that supposed to mean‽ “Gee, thanks,” Lia deadpanned at the backhanded compliment.
Belladonna frowned. “Jerk!”
…
Cadmea and Liandan turned to stare blankly at Belladonna, who could only sense shock and surprise from her counterpart. The elder twin started to feel nervous. Was that too far, or-
A wide grin crept up on Lia’s face as surprise fell beneath a sea of giddiness. “HeheheHA!” she giggled before tackling her sister in an airborne bear hug. “OHMYGOSH that was a word! Bella!” she laughed as she nuzzled Belladonna’s cheek.
Belladonna for her part was surprised by the reaction. Lia had always known how to talk. She was a prodigy that even the king was surprised by. Belladonna could never hope to measure up.
So why? Why would one word make her so happy?
Liandan pointed at Cadmea. “Jerk!” she parroted, radiating happiness and enthusiasm as she looked to Belladonna. “Jerk! C’mon, sis!”
Belladonna blinked. She didn’t know what to think.
But then, wasn’t that what being with Lia was always like?
So she may as well go with it! Belladonna pointed at their tutor. “Jerk!”
“Jerk!”
“Jerk!”
“Jerk!”
“Jerk!”
“Jerk!”
Cadmea stared at the two fairies making fun of her. She sighed once more. “Now this? This is more like what I expected a conversation with fairy children would be like,” she groused, unheeded by the laughing twins.
“Jerk! Jerk! Jerk! Jerk!”
A chuckle escaped the vixen’s lips. She cracked a smile. “I suppose I had this coming, huh? Alright, alright, I’m sorry,” she apologized. Liandan stopped chanting at her, and so Belladonna followed suit. “Tell you what, we’ll skip the Q&A. Tell me what kind of magic you want to learn.
“Now I’m not a specialist in anything but ritualism, and there’s no guaranty you’ll have a knack for what you want. However, I had to learn a bit about everything to practice it. I should be able to give you kit’s first magic lesson on any of them.”
The fairies looked at each other. Lia shrugged. “Heck if I know. I kind of just want to learn. Like, in general,” she said. “Bella?”
Belladonna thought about it. Liandan had seemed really interested in poison to her, so she wasn’t sure why she wouldn’t jump at the chance to learn poison magic, if that was even a thing. But Belladonna wasn’t really that interested in it. Being bad to eat was nice and all, but she only valued it insofar as it was a deterrent to help them survive. It was cold comfort to take your attacker with you; you still died.
No, what interested her was the opposite. She pulled out her pencil and paper, wrote down two words, and showed them to Lia to read aloud.
“It says ‘Healing magic.’”
Cadmea looked at the purple fairy. “Healing, huh? That’s a tricky one to explain without the system. Do you know what HP is?”
Belladonna shook her head. She sensed a curious shiver run down Lia’s spine.
“It’s a measure of one’s vitality given by the system in a numerical value. Full HP meant you were totally uninjured, and if you HP hit 0, you died. Healing magic would restore HP and heal the body in the process.”
“Question!” Liandan asked, hand raised high. Cadmea gave her a confused look, and Lia sheepishly lowered her hand. Embarrassed, she asked “Heh, sorry. Is it that it would restore HP to heal the body, or heal the body to restore HP?”
“A good question,” Cadmea replied. “Until very recently, they were considered mutually inclusive, so the question itself was like asking which came first, magic or the system? But I can tell you firsthand that healing talismans still function properly, so I’d say it’s safe to say that the magic restored the body first, and the HP seamlessly updated to reflect that.”
“But then why would- sorry, that’s off topic, never mind,” Lia said. “Please continue.”
“Yes, as I was saying, general healing magic restores the body to proper working order,” the fox woman continued. “There are several different mechanisms by which this can be achieved. With a natural base, the body can grow anew, regenerating tissues or reattaching limbs. I’ve never heard of anyone unlocking it, but there were mentions in the system of fully regrowing missing limbs or organs.
“A more advanced version is healing with a temporal base. With that, healing magic can speed up the healing of the wound by hours, days, even months in the span of seconds, or it can even reverse injuries that were sustained a short time ago. “
She reached into her pouch, pulling a piece of vellum out. “This is a healing talisman using a natural base. It restores about- ah, moderately heals wounds, and apply a mild painkilling effect.”
“How does it do that?” Lia asked.
“Well, this is a miniaturized array that channels- “
“No, no, I don’t mean that,” Lia interrupted. “It’s fascinating, and I’m going to want to learn all about it too, but I mean the underlying principle behind the natural base healing magic. Does it use cellular regeneration?”
“I don’t follow,” Cadmea said. “What do you mean by that?”
“Well, if you don’t know either…” Liandan never finished the sentence.
It wasn’t surprising to Belladonna that her tutor didn’t know either. If you could heal people anyway, why would you need to know how it worked? Of course, the answer was obvious: because maybe it could let you heal them even better!
“Can I ask for some supplies? It’ll help me explain, I promise!”
“Supplies? What kind of supplies?”
“Well, I’m not sure how much of this we have around the village,” Liandan admitted, “but… dish soap, lye if you don’t have it-”
“We have it.”
“I didn’t mean-!” Liandan groaned. “No. L-Y-E. Also salt, isopropyl alcohol, and a glass cup.”
Cadmea raised an eyebrow. “I know spirits are born with certain knowledge, but that seems oddly specific,” she remarked. “I’ll ask your king if he can provide those for us. Anything else?”
“Oh, yes! Some small, flat glass sheets. Say, seventy-five by twenty-five by one millimeter? A playing card, something to punch a hole in it, a needle, petro-, no, some beeswax, tin foil, and Glue.”
Belladonna tilted her head. What was her sister up to
this time?
“Again, oddly specific,” Cadmea noted. “I’m starting to get the picture here. You two aren’t exactly normal, are you?”
The violet fairy shook her head at that. “Mo.”
Drat. So close.

2023.06.10 18:42 somespeculation Harry and Meg’s Montecito Home: Chateau of Riven Rock - financial details, real estate prices and the home’s history. In my opinion, it's not a good investment. Fact checked.
Their home, the Olive Garden Purgatory for Displaced Overseas Royals, was purchased for $14.65mil in an off market sale in June 2020, mortgaged. LA Times Confirmation:
https://archive.ph/QgYkz All of this is from a 'source close to the couple'. The final paragraph is clout listing nearby celebrity homes; final paragraph connecting the house to Oprah's neighbour.
HISTORY - Unsettling Check out it’s true, unsettling history about a mentally ill man who was confined there for decades:

Rockbridge LLC also took out two federal covid loans for under $50,000 in 2021 that appear to have been paid off in full or “forgiven.”
https://archive.ph/2023.06.04-180558/https://www.federalpay.org/paycheck-protection-program/rockbridge-llc-santa-barbara The address for Rockbridge LLC is the same as the Wells Fargo in Montecito: 1482 E Valley Rd. Could theoretically have a box there.
Thie Rockbridge LLC shows up a bit with the financial deep dive, but appears to be a bit of a red herring as it only correlates to public record availability pre-Harry and Meg's purchase.
Grishin has since died.

Excellent work by a fellow sinner determined it was purchased via Real Residential Estate Trust whose address is identical to Meg’s business manager at the time in Bev Hills. It can also be searched for on this sub under, "Who Really Owns the Montecito Olive Garden".
https://archive.ph/pnYEU What they’ve said about it: - there is a "stomach churning smell" from a nearby bird sanctuary
https://archive.ph/m0g61 - may not be able to insure and/or insurance is huge due to it being in mudslide zone
https://archive.ph/qzs05 - they are not “over the moon” about it. EAGER TO SELL AND MOVE ELSEWHERE
Confirmed in Jan 2022:
https://archive.ph/8HtsV As recently as Aug 2022, even sympathetic Marie Claire mag is citing a 'source' that they are eager to sell and move.
This article reads like a PR real estate advertisement for the home. https://archive.ph/vjNJt TAXATION DETAILS Tax assessment for 2021 - 2022 is $141,000 roughly. Taxed at a rate of 1.04%….which seems to be more of a business tax rate….ownership intentionally omitted/redacted. Current value of the home assessed at just under: $13.3 mil. The 2021-2022 tax records for their address:

This usually indicates it was a low ball offer significantly below the asking price. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/757027018614924479/ - Netflix Montecito filming home:
Let’s take a moment to fully acknowledge their authentic, “at home” 'documentary' had the majority not actually filmed at their home. Address: 888 Lilac Drive
Value: Listed Dec 2022 for $33.5 mil.

It was filmed in another Montecito home they passed off indirectly as theirs, as they never clarified it was not their home during filming their 'behind the scenes'. Harry was likely paranoid about a security risk, whereas Meg likely saw an opportunity for implied flexing. She knows the Olive Garden beige property is dated.
Filmed in a home valued over twice as much as theirs. As of March 2023, still on the market at its original price.
https://archive.ph/2023.06.04-173844/https://www.mansionglobal.com/articles/inside-the-montecito-villa-where-harry-and-meghan-filmed-their-documentary-25a05f99 - Neighbour’s home #3
Address: 830 Riven Rock Rd. According to Google maps, a 2 min drive or 7 min walk from the Sussexes.
Value: Sold for $14.5mil in Apr 2022.
https://archive.ph/2023.06.04-171250/https://www.redfin.com/CA/Santa-Barbara/830-Riven-Rock-Rd-93108/home/21608407.
IN SUM: - they do own it, via a speculated Meg-created LLC, mortgaged
- they bought it heavily discounted, after multiple markdowns and even rentals
- there are major problems, that they themselves at times continued to publicize
- they are avoiding filming there (Spare interviews at San Ysidro, Oprah interview, Netflix) outside of the 40x40 ball juggling Harry while Meg reigns from her Bench of beige throne.
- their property tax rate is VERY low
No confirmation on if one, both, or neither are living there. However, there are multiple reports swirling that Harry (or Meg) may regularly retreat to a room at San Ysidro Ranch. This includes the thank you card recently publicized for the bike Archie was recently gifted for his birthday, but interestingly publicized a month later, sent from an employee of SYR. Google maps puts it at a. 7 min drive from their address.
Also keep in mind any RivenRock allusions in online accounts, donations, or LLCs....perhaps could be illuminating for who is behind them.
So there you have it. Make of it what you will. submitted by

2023.06.10 18:41 Jacob_Kemp The 10/20 man trial rewards only exposes how poorly gearing is in this game and that S3 needs to badly revamp most systems to have a future.
Honestly, the worm boss looks cool as fuck no doubt but it's a bummer like everything else in this game it will be mostly dead content like most things in this game. Hatchery looks fun but again, will be dead content for most. Why? The rewards are awful and they can't think of any innovative ideas create a replayable system to keep players coming back and this applies to basically majority of the games content and I believe it's heavily to do with the perks. Not just resilient/ward/bane or attunement but because every other perk itself is poorly made that they have no place in either PvE or PvP. I thought maybe they'd get the idea with hatchery seals and perhaps it would let you change stats on any gear or any named atleast but no it's for the piss poor named loot you get inside only.
"Seal changing attributes would make people get BIS too quick", BIS should be subjective to each person but it's definitive to all. The perks that are actually useful are so limited it's not hard to determine what's a "BIS". Should BIS be 3 defensive perks for every class? Shirking/ele + Freedom + Resilient for PvP. Classes should be wanting their weapon perks not avoiding it for these perks. This isn't asking for a nerf to these perks but rather buffs and introduction of new interesting perks. Ones that aren't if you do X gain/do Y which is fortify/haste/empowerend lmfao.
Ok so we add more perks, doesn't that make crafting more and more annoying every time as well getting new gear in general? To that I'd say yes. However, I think with introduction to perks they should be exclusive to places in already existing content to revive the areas. For example, a new FS perk that lets flamethrower overheat to blue and shoot further for a temporary amount of time with more damage, in exchange you're taking % damage during it and disables other spells for a few seconds (bit like rumble in league), it's unreal damage but you're risking a blowback if all fails, it travels further, does more damage on weapon itself but more % health damage. The perk is only acquirable in great cleave from named mobs near the Empyrean dungeon and inside it as a craft mod, along with a few new FS/armours that have the perk on it. So New perk + ??? + ??? with a perk bucket, it can be upgraded to 600 with a random 3rd perk. It's BOP, the mods can be sold for profit as money is the biggest motivator for anyone which means reasons to revisit something. You are free to add more perks that can feel acquirable to a basic level that wouldn't be BIS instantly but get you going without frustrating people if they ever felt the desire to try something else.
Redistribute old perks like this too, each POI mob has exclusive drops with new named items with similar format, Perk + ??? + ???, both random and can be upgraded. Give arenas and dungeons perk themes that are weekly, remove arena keys. Lazarus perk theme is Thwarting strikes and Physical Aversion, Genesis is Enchanted and Elemental aversion, Barnacles is Attunement and Resilient etc, all dungeons should be able to have any perk as the theme. The weapons and armour will have a much higher chance to roll these perks on the first roll, the craft mods will have a chance to be found in the chests during the run. Maybe someone runs it all day for Thwarting strike GAs and take their chances, others to get the craft mod and either sell or craft. I would say to not apply the upgradeable route for these drops in dungeons but make them BOE and perhaps nudge rarity higher so there's a few more legendaries to be had to deem worth doing but not M10 level of legendary drops though that also exists for shards.
Maybe someone will finally visit that poor alligator Tazorjaw under the waterfall in Ebonscale or kill that gatelord at the great cleave elite fort or the other 100 named mobs that aren't touched. Fresh 60s can do dungeons for expertise with 625s as there are lobbies made all the time that isn't for m10s and we're not just doing taxi farm runs to 600. Devs are free to add perks all the time and not fear backlash, can just whack some armour and weapon with the perk then random 2nd/3rd perk so their loot tables are already 10x better than we have lmao, content feels varied, it can be engaging ways to make money for other ambitions (would you rather chop trees with max luck or be killing shit for money?).
Raids shouldn't be having m8 level of shards and worse loot than m10s, it's a 20 man fucking raid that is probably going to be tuned up on release. It should be blood sweat and tears with some damn sick loot that has exclusive things, maybe you can upgrade any purple to legendary with a raid seal, it's only once a day you get loot so it's not like you're pumping BIS but then 2 perkers become profitable again to sell on TP so addicts can gamble their daily raid seals into it lol.

2023.06.10 18:22 Entry_Plug How to retrieve dynamically a block with Dataview?
Hello there.
What I’m trying to do
I’m new to Obsidian and trying to setup files to follow OKR guide lines. All is working pretty well except one call with Dataview. I have two files which was automatically created by QuickAdd and named like this :
- Monthly Review 2023 - 06
- Weekly Review 2023 - W23 I would like to retrieve a specific block (for example : #TODOs) from my “Monthly Review” file and list tasks on my “Weekly Review” file. But I would like to find a way that work every time, not only with those files. Block I want to retrieve is always from the previous month.
Things I have tried
I tried many codes by reading documentation or with examples found on Internet / reddit, etc. but was a fail. I also tried website named
Basic Dataview Query builder (a nice website btw). I even try to add some YAML info like the created date of the file to trigger the file like that :
List from [[]] WHERE Created date = tp.date.now("YYYY-MM-DD", "P-1M")
I need some help, please.
Thx

2023.06.10 18:11 joeyisnotmyname Leslie Kean alluded to a leak by Daniel Sheehan being one of the reasons Grusch felt pressure to release, here's the moment he mention's David's name in interview 3 weeks ago.
In this June 6th, 2023 interview by
The Debrief of Leslie Kean and Ralph Blumenthal discussing background on the
David Grusch story, Leslie was asked why they didn't publish with the Washington Post.
She stated the main reason was that there were leaks starting to come out and David didn't want to wait any longer, and notes that she thinks Daniel Sheehan actually mentioned David Grusch's name in a previous interview from a few weeks ago. Here's where she says that:
https://youtu.be/TE7uJCFlGBc?t=639 I listened to the interview of Daniel Sheehan that she mentioned
(Pretty fascinating in it's own right if you want to listen to the whole thing), but here's the exact spot he mentions David Grusch in the same breath as Lou Elizondo, Chris Mellon, and Karl Nell, saying they were involved in getting the senate bill passed. Here's where he mentions it:
https://youtu.be/wU0W9S5w1L0?t=1298 I think everyone knows who Lou Elizondo and Chris Mellon are, but
Karl Nell is the retired Army Colonel that was quoted in the original Debrief Article supporting Grusch's claims.
It seems like he's implying all four of these guys were/are working together in a coordinated way.

2023.06.10 18:01 ThrowRA_umbrella My (28F) BF(32M) Lied about his Ex being an Addict with AIDS. Should I reach and find out more?!
I (28F) have been with my boyfriend (32M) for 9 years. We went through a rough patch as I got pregnant and he became distant and horrible towards me.
I became suspicious of him cheating on me and in doing so assumed he might have gone back to his ex. In start of our relationship he was indeed still hurt from his last relationship and would talk openly regarding his Ex and how he felt betrayed when he needed her the most. He made mention of how he heard through friends that she dated a guy who laced her with drugs and she became an addict. He also said she had contracted AIDS as a result of her selling her body for drugs. They lived with each other in another city during their relationship and he says she still resides their and roams the streets looking for any possible drug to get high with.
HOWEVER! As I did some digging assuming he had gone back to her because I had become doubtful of him and sincerely think he showed traits of a narcissist I did some digging and found out she is in fact NOT a drug addict, NOT living in another city(she’s in our current city) and she never relocated because of university scholarship. She is though - 12 years older, had two kids and was previously in a relationship with the father of her kids before with my EX. Meaning she was 21 and she was 33 when they met with two kids.
Currently I do not care to find out if he was cheating BUT I would rather find out as to WHY he lied to this extent ?! Especially regarding the AIDS did he do this to throw me off the scent of him and her having an affair?!
She’s currently in her 40’s and had kids. I don’t have direct contact with her but I was able to find her brothers contact info. Should I reach out? And how would I go about doing so?
Please do not bother saying leave him as I COMPLETELY AGREE it’s not normal to lie about one’s EX to this extent for this many years and with such details!! The reason I ask is Apart of me feels their something significant their I may need to know who I’m truly dealing with in order to protect me and my child.
FYI. He lied about almost everything other than her first name, he lied about her ethnicity, parents, area where she’s from so it was almost impossible to find her before let alone search for someone you were told roams the streets of a city unknown to you. ONLY reason I know who I came across the right person is because I was shown a picture early on in our relationship by someone else and I seen the same photo on this person profile from way back.
Also their pictures of all her family and friend INCLUDING her previous EX but non of my BF ….her family and friends also have pictures of her and her previous Ex but NON of her and my Ex ….

2023.06.10 17:58 FeliciaFancybottom01 Woman Killed by Ex
I first read about this case on Reddit by a user who knew the ex. He admitted he fully believed his friend was innocent until her body was found. Here is what I think I remember:
She went by her first and middle name (in news articles at least). I believe one of her names started with a J, not sure if it was her first, middle or last name.
She was found wrapped in a tarp in his garage/shed by the police when searching his home.
For some reason I think the guy's name is Shawn but I could be misremembering that.
It would have happened sometime before I joined Reddit in 2017 (previous account).
She was reported missing by her family. I believe she had gone missing before which is why his friend initially believed she had gone away on her own again.
Her family created a website that detailed the ongoing case and delays.
He eventually pleaded guilty.
Sorry if this is not enough. I don't post much on reddit and I'm on mobile.

2023.06.10 17:57 TimeIsMe Tips for engaging with Adyashanti's teaching
TLDR; I'm relatively new to Adyashanti's teaching but wanted to share some tips I've discovered about working with him that may differ from other teachers. Hopefully this can help orient people to his teaching if you're not already familiar. Also would love to hear Adya resources that have been helpful to others that I may not have listed here! What have been your favorite resources? When I first came across Adyashanti I wasn't ready for his teaching. It gives no philosophical, theological, or metaphysical answers, reassurance, or entertainment (and that's what I wanted at the time). It is spoken purely from a place of direct experience and its only goal is guiding and supporting aspirants in the awakening process all the way to full liberation/moksha/nirvana.
It's almost like a combination of the description-only approach of the radical/uncompromising speakers, combined with
skilled guidance derived from a deep understanding of the mechanics of awakening—understanding that I've only really found so far in the 20th century Indian Direct Path teachers (Nisargadatta, Ramana, Krishnamenon, etc.).
Thus far I can absolutely say, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that Adyashanti's teaching is
by far the most clear, direct, complete, thorough, skilled, grounded, presentation of nonduality, complete with guidance and support to full liberation, that I have encountered anywhere.
He also seems to have the best "success record' of any teacher I've seen. The number of people waking up via his teaching is astounding. Practically every Q&A session has evidence of this, and I can think of at least a dozen well regarded teachers who used him to wake up (e.g., Angelo Dilullo who is very popular on this forum). Adya's been at this for over 20 years, and it shows. Experience really matters in this space.
So, in this process of finally fully engaging with Adyashanti, I've noticed a few things about working with his teaching that might be different from other teachers, and wanted to share with folks here in case it's helpful.
I feel like for many other teachers, you sort of engage with them by just diving into their talks, their satsangs. Adyashanti has these, like everyone else, but IMO they are only an adjunct, a support, for his more important resources.
IMO it would be a mistake to attempt to engage with Adyashanti by exclusively viewing his Youtube talks, so I wanted to share what I've found to be helpful here. For me, I have found the heart of his teaching comes in 3 forms, none of which are the classic satsang talks:
1. These 3 books
Like many teachers he offers a variety of books. However the following 2 are the most direct IMO, and are both incredibly short, concise, and to-the-point:
- The Way of Liberation
- This is his core teaching in a very condensed and simplified format. He offers it free online or for purchase here. It's short. You can read it today.
- Description from website: The Way of Liberation is Adyashanti’s stripped-down, practical guide to spiritual awakening. With a profound simplicity it outlines the Foundations, Orienting Ideas, and Core Practices that are essential in the process of waking up to the absolute nature of Reality and living it to the fullest extent possible. May this book serve as an insightful companion on your journey to that place of sacredness, to the flow and flowering of existence beyond all notions of self.
- The Direct Way
- Emptiness Dancing
- This is the less concise, more verbose (but more explanatory) book that I think is most people's go-to Adyashanti book. [link]
2. Audible audiobooks
Worth noting is that he has a number of releases that are
only audiobook (meaning there are not text versions of these books, they exist only as spoken word content on Audible).
I've found these to be essential, but they are easily missed because they are not on his website and do not have corresponding text versions.
I have found the following two titles to be some of the most profound guided meditation instruction I have encountered in the nondual space: - Guided Meditations: Evoking the Divine Ground of Your Being [link]
- The 30-Day Wake Up Challenge: A Direct Way to Spiritual Liberation [link] Ignore the goofy name and do yourself a favor and download this today, lol. It is a seriously profound resource. He simplifies all sorts of direction that I found to be previously confusing from other teachers, such as dropping into the heart, etc.
3. Self-guided courses
Discovering these was like Christmas morning.
These are what I've always wanted in the nondual space.
Extremely clear, concise description and instruction, presented in a format that might feel similar to a university course. I'm sure many people will assert that awakening cannot be taught in such a way. I would urge folks who make such assertions to reserve judgement until after engaging with these courses.
They're typically broken into multi-week sessions, with each week including a teaching, a practice, and a Q&A.
Link to Adya's self-guided courses A few examples:
- The Way of Liberation [link]
- The Art of Meditation [link]
- From the description: Embark on a transformational journey in Adyashanti’s teachings on meditation. Based on his original live online course The Art of Meditation (2016), this self-guided course offers Adyashanti's unique perspective and insightful guidance based on 15 years of practice followed by 20 years of teaching the art of meditation to thousands of people at all levels of experience. Whether you are called to explore meditation for the first time, or are a seasoned practitioner, this course will offer you guidance in:
- Taking your existing meditation practice to an unprecedented level of depth and transformation.
- Getting an essential orientation to meditation to avoid years of pitfalls.
- Breaking the cycle of compulsive thought that leads to suffering.
- Exploring the deeper intricacies and potentials of meditation.
- Freeing yourself from conditioned emotional responses.
- Becoming conscious of subtle realms of consciousness.
- Accessing the peace and quiet always and already present.
- Discovering the infinite ground of being.
- Experiencing No-Self [link]
- Very clear explanation of the differences between ego and self, the differences between the transcendence or complete falling away of ego or self, and how it tends to unfold for people. Conceptual clarity around ego, unity, no-self, etc., and guidance.
- From the description: The no-self perspective opens the doorway to true freedom and liberation. In this audio course, Adyashanti will guide you through the sometimes precarious territory of no-self as he sheds light on the falling away of self and the perspective that the no-self experience reveals. He uncovers the delusions and cul-de-sacs sometimes afflicting those experiencing the falling away of self and offers insight and guidance about:
- Understanding exactly what the experience of no-self is.
- How no-self fits in within the overall arc of awakening.
- Reorienting to this new and liberating perspective.
- Spiritual autonomy and the no-self perspective.
- Losing your inner world.
- Getting stuck in the no-self experience.
- Limitations of the no-self perspective.
- Living and relating from no-self.
- I Am That - Exploring the Teachings of Nisargardatta [link]
- From the description: In this four-part audio course, Adyashanti leads a transformational inquiry into the core teachings of this illumined sage, and clarifies how to apply them in the most direct and efficient way possible, not only in terms of spiritual practice, but also how they relate to everyday life.
Beyond these 3 categories he has tons of audio and retreat content available on his website, and of course lots of free content on Youtube.
I really cannot recommend Adyashanti enough. He's the one I would recommend if I could go back in time to my younger self. But I can see now why I wasn't ready at the time.
Hope this has been helpful to someone!
Let me know if you recommend anything else in particular! I'm still very new to him and I know there are a lot of Adya students in this forum, so would love to hear suggestions from others if you think there's something that was super helpful to you that people might like.

2023.06.10 17:54 jules99b A History of Ice Dance, From the 1950s Until Now: Part 4, The Rise of Natalia Dubova, Soviet Ice Dancers, and the Ice Dance Diva, 1989-1994
Parts
1,
2, and
3 can be found in this same subreddit at the links attached. Hopefully this part will live up to the insanity that inspired me to write about it!
There are…so many things that happen between 1988 and 1994 in one discipline of figure skating it is near comical. With Soviet domination of ice dance near assured during this era, the focus shifts from who will win to instead question how fast the Soviet dynasty can fall apart. The answer? Well…I guess you’ll have to see.
With Bestemianova/Bukin and Wilson/McCall opting to go to the pro ranks after their Olympic medals in 1988, Klimova/Ponomarenko seemed the de facto leaders of ice dance. Natalia Dubova now not only coached Klimova/Ponomarenko but also a married couple making their international debut in Maya Usova/Alexander Zhulin. The new rink situation pit the 2 couples against each other as each aimed to become the top couple in the world.
No one could deny Klimova/Ponomarenko in 1989 though. Skating to
“Mack the Knife,” Klimova/Ponomarenko skated to victory with a more humorous and friendly free dance to expand their horizons. According to the media of the time though, this new styling for them wasn’t as beloved as their previous work. However, no one could deny their technical ability as they took the ice.
Their countrymates Usova/Zhulin nabbed the silver medal with a free dance skated to dramatic
classical music. Usova/Zhulin were a team that felt like they encapsulated everything Dubova had ever aimed to bring to the ice. They floated across the ice in ways that only Klimova/Ponomarenko could sometimes achieve. They also had brilliant matching lines that Dubova liked to emphasize through her choreography. They tended to skate in a hold that had Usova in front with Zhulin wrapped behind her, consistently close together. Their gentle, lyrical skating made them a quick favorite for fans of the sport.
The Duchesnays improved from 8th at the Olympics to grab the bronze in 1989 on home ice in Paris. The Duchesnays were…the best way to describe them is that they’re the proto-French ice dance team. Their free dance was set to an instrumental version of
Eleanor Rigby, and told the story of dreams and reality, where Isabelle represented dreams constantly being brought down to Paul’s reality. The Christopher Dean choreographed program was…noticeably easier in difficulty compared with the Soviets, featuring less holds overall and more lifts that took Isabelle off the ice. However, their eccentric concepts made them another crowd favorite in these years.
In 1989, Dubova also put together another Soviet team to compete against her top 2 skaters. Evgeni Platov, a 3-time World Junior champion, had just placed fifth in the world with his former partner before their split. Oksana Grishuk, coming off a World Junior title herself, moved from Natalia Linichuk’s school to pair with Platov after she split from her partner. The 2 began skating together in the summer of 1989, making Dubova the sole coach of the top 3 Soviet teams. What could possibly go wrong?
The 1990 season saw all 3 Soviet teams compete for the podium alongside the Duchesnays and, surprisingly, an American team who slipped up to 4th: Susan Wynne/Joseph Druar. For Wynne/Druar, it was the highest place finish for an American team since Blumberg/Seibert were still skating. Their free dance to
“Hit the Road Jack” was a tribute to tap dance. Their style was distinctly North American, similar in style to that of Wilson/McCall, in that the woman appeared stronger on ice rather than the dainty appearance of women like Marina Klimova and Maya Usova (think Madi Hubbell compared with Gabi Papadakis for a more recent example). This style, wherein the woman was an equal on ice to her partner, was not popular with the judges of the time, so acted more as a precursor to the North American style than as a legitimate podium threat.
Klimova/Ponomarenko earned a second World title in 1990 skating to
“My Fair Lady,” now fully bought into the idea of the one concept free dance but still maintaining the classical switching of rhythms within that one concept, marrying the traditions of ice dance with the post-Torvill/Dean landscape. Best described by the commentary of the time, Klimova/Ponomarenko were technically unmatched by their peers, even as their free featured less holds than had been their norm. However, their prowess still took the cake as they walked away with a second title.
The Duchesnays improved on their 1989 placement by earning silver in 1990. Skating to their first iteration of
“Missing,” Isabelle and Paul truly embraced the avant garde. Dean gave his now girlfriend and her brother choreography that was simpler and easier to perform but striking in its repeated poses and lifts to make an unbreakable impression on the audience and judges, earning them first in the free dance. On a more…aesthetic note, this is the first time in my write up that I’ve seen a dress that looks like the skirt was shredded, which is just a fine precursor to the horrors of costuming to come.
Usova/Zhulin grabbed the bronze with a sophisticated tango to
Piazzolla selections (naturally). Usova/Zhulin improved on their lyrical style to incorporate more speed and sharpness to their movements, which drew more attention to their matching body lines. However, the tango was far easier than their free dance the previous year, featuring more side by side skating rather than close holds. And in their senior debut as a pair, Grishuk/Platov earned 5th place with a free dance using music from
“Zorba the Greek” (I truly wish I was joking). But regardless of the odd music choice, Grishuk/Platov were known for their skating skills, arguably the strongest of the next 8 years. While this free dance certainly didn’t show that off, the promise of the senior pair was apparent from the moment they stepped on the ice.
All good training rinks must carry with it insane amounts of drama though, for this is ice dance. And stuffing the top Soviet teams under one coach was bound to implode at some point. It was during this time that Dubova started to favor Usova/Zhulin for the Olympic gold in Albertville 1992. And with it, better program ideas. This came to a head when Klimova/Ponomarenko slipped to a silver medal in 1991, behind the Duchesnays. And that’s truly where the bubble burst.
The Duchesnays had an interesting season, debuting their
Reflections FD which was actually a program originally meant for Torvill/Dean’s professional career before being scrapped and given to the Duchesnays…which should tell you all a lot about both Dean and the insanity that was this FD, where Isabelle and Paul were made to look like mirror images of each other. The free dance received a lukewarm reception, causing them to scrap the FD for the amateur ranks and instead opt for a second iteration of their “Missing” FD, aptly titled
Missing II. Outrage from fans on behalf of Klimova/Ponomarenko was apparent, as the Duchesnays’ repeated lifts and tricks were inherently easier than the skating that Klimova/Ponomarenko were doing. But the lack of Dubova faith and the judges’ love of Christopher Dean worked in the Duchesnays’ favor.
Klimova/Ponomarenko skated to
“Lawrence of Arabia,” entering the free dance in a surprising 3rd place after the original dance (OD), which had by now supplanted the OSP. After being behind Usova/Zhulin in the compulsories and behind both the Duchesnays and Usova/Zhulin in the OD, Klimova/Ponomarenko needed near perfect scores to retain their title. They would not get it. The pair attempted to expand their horizons even further with a more dramatic piece of music; Klimova/Ponomarenko put more emphasis on their lifts, which were vastly improved. But some media felt that they had lost their inherent qualities that identified them in favor of trying to prove their range. This would become a major sticking point in the Olympic year.
Usova/Zhulin meanwhile earned bronze at these Worlds, elegantly skating to
“Variations” from Andrew Lloyd Webber. The couple’s lyrical and emotional interpretation entranced the audience in watching the leaders after the OD. Of course, Usova/Zhulin couldn’t hang onto their lead in the end, which really should’ve acted as effective foreshadowing of not only their competitive careers but also what was happening behind the scenes with their rinkmates Grishuk/Platov, who had placed 4th in the same event.
The summer of 1991 was absolute ice dance chaos. In a span of a few short months, all of this happened at once:
· Klimova finds out Dubova is giving preferential treatment to Usova/Zhulin. She cries in front of a Russian sports journalist.
· Andrei Bukin goes to Tarasova, begging her to take on Klimova/Ponomarenko so that they aren’t shut out of a gold. Tarasova agrees, and Klimova/Ponomarenko flee Dubova.
· Christopher Dean gets married to Isabelle Duchesnay and vows to choreograph them to Olympic glory (they later divorce in ’93)
· Alexander Zhulin, 28, begins his infamous affair with Oksana Grishuk, 19, putting a strain on the Usova/Zhulin partnership on and off ice. The affair becomes Grishuk’s fault in the media.
· The Soviet Union falls, leaving the Soviet skaters without a country to represent for a year
And those are just the heavy hitters boys and girls! Truly, an offseason to remember.
Tarasova took on Klimova/Ponomarenko and attempted to steer them toward gold amid heavy competition from Dean’s Duchesnays and Dubova’s Usova/Zhulin. A strong
polka OD had Klimova/Ponomarenko in a comfortable lead going into the free dance, where they performed a lyrical and transcendent program to
“Air” by Bach. The pair looked statuesque as they floated over the ice. Granted, the program had about as much substance as your average show program. But man if the couple didn’t make it look good. It was a return to form in a lot of ways for the pair, returning to their more classical roots but now with the experience of having done more dramatic works and being able to incorporate that emotion back into a lyrical program. Tarasova had her second Olympic gold medal winning team in the span of 2 Olympics, adding to her already storied career in ice dance (having led a pair to an Olympic medal in 4 of the 5 competed events at this point).
The Duchesnays settled for silver in a home Olympics in Albertville. Their free dance was set to the music of
“West Side Story,” with the pair portraying the sibling duo of Tony and Maria (thank God). In a lot of ways, it was a call back to Dean’s past World title winning free dances based around Broadway musicals. And the choreography was meant to call to mind the intricate choreography of the musical, including some of the first instances of the reverse lifts naturally. However, the easier skating choreography caught up to the Duchesnays and their free program placement suffered for it. Hard to consider it a skating program if most of the dance was spent in the air or side by side.
Usova/Zhulin entered the ’92 Olympics incredibly strained. This was only exacerbated when Zhulin gave Grishuk his wedding ring for her to wear during the compulsories, to which Usova understandably lost her cool. With that in the back of their minds, it’s truly a wonder that they pulled through for a bronze medal. Their
“Four Seasons” free dance was meant to tell the stories of two statues coming to life. Which seems apt for a couple whose chemistry had about as much warmth as two statues. Grishuk/Platov earned 4th place with a more
modern free dance. It’s…very 80s, I don’t know how to describe it. But it was obvious that their partnership was finally flourishing in a way that their promise had predicted. Which is naturally the perfect time for more insanity to come between them.
After a Soviet podium sweep at Worlds, the summer of ’92 saw Zhulin and Grishuk’s affair escalate during the show season. Everything really hit the fan when Usova caught Zhulin and Grishuk at a restaurant together and “
saw Grishuk sipping a margherita at a bar, came up behind her, grabbed her hair and smashed her head against the counter.” And although Usova later apologized, Dubova had had enough and expelled Grishuk from her camp for getting involved with Zhulin. While Grishuk headed back to Moscow, Dubova attempted to pair Platov with a young Tatiana Navka, who would’ve been around 17 and representing Belarus following the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Ultimately though, Grishuk returned to former coach Natalia Linichuk and Platov followed, restoring their partnership before the 92-93 season.
The Soviets, now officially representing the newly reformed country of Russia, maintained their absolute stranglehold on the discipline. With Klimova/Ponomarenko retiring to focus on the pro circuit and starting a family as well as the Duchesnays’ retirement, all medalists slid up the rankings, with Usova/Zhulin finally earning their gold medal on the backs of a sultry
blues free dance that kept the audience spellbound and where they pretended that they were into each other for 4 minutes.
As if to contrast the gold medalists, Grishuk/Platov skated to a more
violent blues, which is admittedly one of my guilty pleasure skates. The free dance told the story of toxic lovers, even incorporating choreography where it looked like Platov was choking Grishuk. Their skating earned them their first medal at Worlds, a silver. And they also started to find that their strength was in the dramatic, even if they don’t go back to it for several years. It is at this time that the media picks up on the former Grishuk/Zhulin affair, but only mentions it during Grishuk/Platov’s programs.
Inter-country politics began early when Alla Shekhovtsova advocated to the judges for Anjelika Krylova and her former partner Vladmir Fedorov, coached by Linichuk, to be sent to Worlds in 93, threatening their judging careers if they put their competitors Elena Kustarova/Oleg Ovsiannikov in front. Naturally. Krylova/Fedorov were sent by one judge’s vote and earned a bronze at Worlds. Krylova was known for her amazing leg line, but this free dance doesn’t really do them justice on that end. After Krylova/Fedorov earned a medal in their debut, American and Canadian media started to become frustrated with lack of results from their ice dancers, insinuating that their lack of results was strictly because of the flag next to their names. In the ‘94 offseason, Krylova/Fedorov would break up and Ovsiannikov would be lured by Linichuk to pair with Krylova.
A little further down the standings, Susanna Rahkamo/Petri Kokko dazzled with a free dance to
Valse Triste. The fourth place finishers were crowd favorites known primarily for their slow, methodical, lyrical dances. An innovative couple, their choreography featured harder lifts as well as well placed switching in height. However, their programs were often not as technically difficult as the Russians even as the passion on ice touched the audience.
In the 1993 offseason, a change was made to the rules for professional skaters, stating that those who took money from doing shows could still compete at the amateur ranks. The news was huge, allowing many of the skaters who had been held to professional competitions to compete again for an Olympic title. The biggest name to return to the ice, of course, were Torvill/Dean. Just about 10 years after their win in Sarajevo, Torvill/Dean were determined to earn another Olympic gold. But in the 10-year interval, a lot had changed about ice dance.
After Dubova refused to allow RusFed to see Usova/Zhulin’s programs ahead of the Olympic season, Russia silently started to get behind Grishuk/Platov. On top of that, Usova found out about Zhulin’s affair with a 19-year-old Navka around the Olympics. Navka’s then-partner found out and beat Navka for the affair, before Usova and Zhulin’s mothers started beating each other. So, Maya Usova was distracted to say the very least.
The competition also disallowed classical music for the free dance that year, instead opting to go more modern to appeal more to the audience. Torvill/Dean publicly worried about whether their routines would be suited to more modern music.
With all that happening, the Grishuk/Platov, Usova/Zhulin, Torvill/Dean showdown started in full swing at the European championships, when Usova/Zhulin won the compulsories, Torvill/Dean won the OD, and Grishuk/Platov won the free dance. It was the closest ice dance competition in history at that point and left many wondering who would ultimately take home the Olympic gold, even as Torvill/Dean came home with the European title.
The event lived up to the hype. The first compulsory, the Starlight Waltz, was won by Usova/Zhulin before Grishuk/Platov won the
blues compulsory (which is absolutely gorgeous by the way, please watch it) and began to build their reputation as the best compulsory skaters of their generation. Torvill/Dean, unfortunately, looked a bit like their age in the compulsories that Olympics, coming up third in both. However, their
rhumba OD was sensational and encapsulated the best of them, including their obvious chemistry on the ice. The original dance placed first in the segment, with Usova/Zhulin in second and Grishuk/Platov in third. The final placements would come down to the free dance.
Torvill/Dean would perform a free dance to
“Let’s Face the Music,” which read a bit like a greatest hits free dance, incorporating choreography from some of their more famous programs. While the program did feature closed holds when skating, there was also a ton of lifts and tricks incorporated into the choreography, which seemed controversial among the judges. Usova/Zhulin competed with a free dance based on
circus acts. A more humorous routine than their past entries, the free incorporated technical difficulty effectively but was a tad bland, which is truly a feat given what the program was supposed to be emulating. Ultimately, it came up short in their final Olympic competition.
Grishuk/Platov carried away the gold with a controversial free dance to
“Rock Around the Clock” (also, side note, the spelling of Grishuk’s name as Grichtchuk in the video I’m looking at is just so obscene it needs to be mentioned). What was the controversial part of this free dance you ask? According to the rules of the time, all dance couples needed to be in hold for a certain amount of time during the free dance. Many media outlets and Torvill/Dean themselves felt that Grishuk/Platov did not meet the required amount of time in hold, to the point where Torvill is attributed to saying that “if the judges wanted a show program, we could’ve given them a show program.” The judges, however, loved the free dance, even giving the team four 5.9s in technical merit and a 6.0 in artistic impression. And so the team that nearly split just two years prior were walking home from Lillehammer with gold medals in their hands. And Linichuk finally earned a second gold medal, this time as a coach.
At Worlds that year, Rahkamo/Kokko earned a long-awaited bronze after 8 senior seasons at Worlds. A French couple, Sophia Moniotte/Pascal Lavanchy earned the silver. And so ended an overwhelming era of ice dance. But as skaters like Shae-Lynn Bourne/Victor Kraatz, Tatiana Navka, Margarita Drobiazko/Povilas Vanagas, and Elizabeth Punsalan/Jerod Swallow waited in the wings while Canadian and American media lamented the lack of variety at the top, only 1 thing could be stated for certain: the chaos that is ice dance was sure to continue far past 1994.

Hello guys completely new here. My interest is in the topic of "beyond omnipotence". One of my goals is to create or reach deeper understanding on the unknowable specifically for the cosmological structure/side of my verse this is mainly just lore not really for power scaling reasons. People like Stephen king and hp Lovecraft are inspirations of mine due to how far they have already pushed things with the framework for their respective cosmologies. While Im convinced there are solid arguments to be made in favor of it. I haven't seen anyone else who touts it use them. Further Im interested in whether my advocacy for this concept is solid. And what better way than to put them to the test and have someone examine them. While my points are interconnected Im separating them so its easier to see exactly what is contestable or if the points themselves are colliding my ability to understand is finite so I would appreciate the help.
Theory of realness. The argument im making is fallacious in the sense that its purposely pulling on the concept of does accessibility inherently mean conceivability. Mainly because I believe its fallacious of us to in one sense to say that because a fictional character can not physically touch or interact with you in an unscripted autonomous manner means it doesn't exist. Thats moreso possibility than it is conceivable. The example for this ill use is superman. Obviously, superman cannot talk to or ever walk among you and I but that doesnt mean he isnt real or at the very least if that word is unfair to subvert, he does exist. Its baring on reality isnt what we are discussing its the conceivability. Another example would be numbers or colors. Even though this is a slightly separate topic in itself the question of making another number other than 0-9 is at the very least improbable. You cant concieve it so it doesnt exist. Same for colors while there are spectrums of color we can't see regardless of that counter even amongst what we can you cannot come up with a color other than what exists. Perhaps because theres no value outside of what already exists I mean hey I find this topic interesting so please bring some new information to mind on this one.
Typology/Archetype/Form. This is probably a little harder to explain because its full of sub ideas but Ill try to make each of the sub ideas present so again its easier to see what the idea is resting on and whats contendable. To the best of my recollection the main sub points to this are the unknown "quantum equivalent" which could be the form of something and the infinite variables in which it breaks apart plus the descriptive factos equaling archetypes or typologies. So its looks like an equation. Ax+By=C A(quantum equivalent)x(infinite variables)+B(quantitative)y(qualitative)= Typologies and archetypes. A more simple example would be the definitions unlimited, limitless, boundless, infinite omnipotent etc These are all being derived from an unknown quantized meaning of which there are a bunch of other synonyms you could throw in yet these words while extremely similar are subject to one another they are higher classifications of each other. If that doesnt make sense look up the Merriam websters definition of adjective. I say all that to say omnipotent, power, free will arent finalities of their subjects. In the past 400 years we have evolved our collective language to begin encapsulating ideas that werent yet discovered. If humanity existed for eternity we would still be evolving our language to understand things that previously there were no ways to define or even know in the first place the ability to have all power sounds great but im not convinced power is the ultimate typology or archetype of that word mainly because when defining power its not all encapsulating nowhere close. having all power means you have all power what about the dimensions conceivably and unconceivably distinct from it or types of power inconceivably distinct from traditional power.
Last but also not really the last just for brevities sake ill only make three points. Conditions of infinity. One of the posts I saw concerning this topic asked in refutation to beyond omnipotence what can said characters do that omnipotents cant. Which im thankful for its a really good question. This is already understandable to some degree though. Infinite in a simpler definition is having no beginning or end. So a good example would be those X and Y axis in mathematics (please forgive me if thats not the name). x is infinite it doesnt begin or end it is by all definitions truly infinite but say you sat a construct that had both x and y axi over the original x axis. The x and y is also infinite doesnt make it greater because infinity is still infinite but it overlaps the original one with and added dimension more complex would be the term. So essentially what im saying is its true that in a normal sense someone who is omnipotent can do everything the beyond omnipotent can however there is an added dimension in which they do not operate. That wouldn't be a boundary it would be an entirely separate framework beyond it. For instance, something that is 2d is apart of something thats 3d. They aren't separate one is defined by something else further the 3rd has to encapsulate the 2nd in order for it to be 3d. That doesnt all of a sudden make 2d no longer 2d or limit 2d 2d is fully 2d its simply not 3d not as a limitation but as a definition. Perhaps some will say that this in itself is a paradox or illogical seeing as that in a sense is a limit but I think its silly to cherry pick the logicality of illogical things especially within fiction especially due to specifications of definitions. Every single part of superman is equally as illogical as the idea that an omnipotent could lift a rock that they made not to be liftable. Drawing the line at things that are easier to understand is a bit hypocritical.
