Having this issue where I cannot turn on my iPad as it’s showing red battery display even when the charger is plugged in. No matter what I do it won’t turn on. Tried different chargers and not working.
I have to plug the charger to my computer then the iPad will turn on after awhile. When it’s turn on sometimes the battery is at 5% and other times it’s at 100%. Then after half day use it will repeat the same problem again.
What is going on and how can I stop this problem?

Basically, just as the title says... would this work? There's not a lot of information on the exact specs of the VXL-8S. Could it run this motor? This motor is the right dimensions to fit in the UDR without modification.

There is even less specs on the VXL-8s on the Traxxas website...
But why not just upgrade to the Mamba Monster X 8s ESC? I want to keep my light kit without wiring into the balance plug on a lipo. I have tons of Traxxas batteries and multiple Traxxas chargers and they work just fine for me, so I dont want to change battery brands. I just want cooler temps on the motor(primarily as it gets really hot!) and ESC with maybe some performance gain. I still only plan to run on 6s. Gearing may get played with once I get it all running together.
Alternatively I might look into running a separate nimh battery just for the light kit and mount it within the chassis... charging would be a pain in the butt... just spitballin my options!
I'm just trying to have a plan for when my stock VXL-6s dies on me... Under utilized VXL-8s should be more reliable than the VXL-6s, right???

Hi there,
I've got my MM+ just a day ago and immediately installed OnionOS 4.1.4 as I often heard it was a better OS (my firmware is 202305052130, model number says MY283 and I used a Samsung Evo+ 256Gb SD card)

Installation went seemingly without a hitch, however the device is always stuck at 0% battery (with a think red border al around the screen)

I already read that battery indicator is not super accurate but that's not the issue here, the battery is certainly full, I've spent a lot of time charging it with various chargers from small 5v ones, made sure to try USB-A to USB-C ones, phone chargers etc. Every time the green light lights up indicating charging, I've never seen the blue "battery full" light though.

Every game appears to crash shortly after launching but I'm quite confident this is because the system thinks it's out of battery.
Only once something weird happened as I removed a charging cable the MM+ then showed as "Charging" (even though there was no longer a cable charging it!), and at that point in time, pretty much every game would launch and play with no issue at all. Eventually it stopped (I forgot now if I turned the system off or if it changed on its own)

Also, if I start the device with no SD card it boots in the default OS and the battery shows as full. I tried to play game with the crappy SD card that shipped with the MM+ which is still using the default OS and they play just fine.

I tried to re-install OnionOS reformatting the SD card for a clean install etc. but the problem persists.

I'm almost tempted to think I have a defective battery (the MM+ had a few chips on it when I got it which was somewhat strange but it otherwise looked new), but since the battery seem to work fine with the default OS suggest it's an OnionOS problem.

Any idea of what could be the problem/solution?

Hey all. Recently started looking into making my own batteries. Never done it before, but it doesn't look too difficult to do at all.
Hurricane season is coming up and I have some older DIY Led Panels I made years back that use some rechargeable 12V batteries I got off amazon. They work good. Very bright, however run times aren't that long, or at least I'd rather them be longer for emergencies.
I had someone ask me how much I'd charge to make them 2 of these panels since during one of the hurricanes they had no power or lights for about 2 weeks. So I figured I'd see if I can make some that are brighter (better strips these days) and last longer at full brightness.
So I found some new LED light strips on amazon.
2.4 watts per foot. I plan on using 5 feet (5 x 12in strips) per panel.
So each panel will use 12 watts each. They're all 12v as well.
So 12 watts / 12 volts = 1A of power usage.
I want the lights to be able to run for at least 10 hours if need be. So the goal is a 12V 10A+ battery.
From the week of research that I did, here's what I figured I'd need to do this.
3S5P Battery using 18650 cells with at least 2500mah (2.5) of capacity each.
This should yield me a 12.6V 12.5AH battery. The extra 2.5AH would be headroom for inefficiencies, since energy transfer is never 100%.
I made some notes during my research, planned out some parts, and drafted up a rough diagram of how I'd like to make these batteries. Essentially looking for some advice, opinions, recommendations, or any heads up for things I might not be considering or may have overlooked.
My main thing is to be sure the lights have a consistent 12v so the brightness stays consistent throughout the duration of the batteries power usage. So I added a Boost Converter in the diagram to boost the output voltage, so it maintains 12v as the battery goes down in voltage or power left. I also added a plan for a 12V battery meter to monitor the input voltage into the boost converter, so that I can have a relative idea on the battery percentage or level remaining. And of course a dimmer for brightness adjustment too.
I haven't thought of anything for the housing after adding some wrapping around the battery and what not. So any ideas for that would be cool! Currently looking for a cheap source of batteries and I found that Modem Battery Backups are pretty good for cells that haven't been used often or at all, at cheaper costs too.
For charging ill have a barrel connector that can be swapped out in between the boost converter and the power switch.
So all in all, from what I researched, this seems like it should work out.

Also had a couple questions...

• How do you balance cells? - Do you just use a charger to charge them up to full capacity, then make sure you match them close as possible to the 4.2v?
• What about the capacity of each cell? Say one is at 2000mah and the other is at 2300mah, can you still use those two in the same battery pack that you're making? Or would you need to make sure both the max volts and max capacity match as close as possible?
• How do you know if you can use two different cells without knowing their cycle count? Is it okay to mix different brands / batteries from diff sources? (Ex: power drill batt cells mixed with modem backup battery cells) or should you only keep them together based off their sources to ensure cycle count is matched?
• And for cycle count/mah capacity concerns... wouldn't a BMS handle that anyway? I know you shouldn't replace a bad cell in a battery with a new one, while the rest are used, but I'm curious about the examples/questions I brought up.

I made a deal with catphish_ that if they'd ditch v1 and start learning v2, I'd code their project.
Here it is.

What is Pomodoro:

Apparently, Pomodoro means tomato and it's a time management thing. It gets its name from the tomato-shaped timer used to keep track of work intervals that the inventor of this originally used.
You work/study/etc for X minutes then you rest/play/etc for Y minutes.

Use:

To use this script, set a time for each mode in the times array. Modes can be renamed inside the modes array. The default for this setup is 25 minutes of work > 7 minutes of rest.
You can add "distracting sites" to the script by adding them to the forbidden array. And if you have a browser that's not included, add it to the map. Don't include the .exe
The buttons include a start/pause button, a reset button, and a mode switch button (respectively).
If a forbidden screen is found, it's set to flash, beep, and shoot up a message. Obviously, you can customize this.
At the end of the timer, you'll get a notification and be prompted to switch modes and start the timer again.

Adaptation:

This script isn't limited to Pomodoro stuff. It can be adapted for use with anything that has multiple time intervals. Maybe you need to cook something and you're supposed to check on it 20, 15, and 10 minutes into the cooking time. Add 3 modes modes := ['early cook', 'mid cook', 'late cook'] And add a time for each one times := [20, 15, 10]
Play with it. Chang stuff. Do what you want.

Hello,
I purchased a new RAM stick and tried to install it, but it did not work. Moreover, my display do not show signal and my mouse and keyboard stopped working.
My new RAM is Kingston FURY Beast DDR4 3200 MHz CL16 16 Gt. And my old one was Corsair 8GB (1 x 8GB) Value Select, DDR4 2666MHz, CL18, 1.2V. My motherboard is ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-E. My PSU is Corsair 650W CX650 ATX. Display is connected by both Displayport cable (from GPU) and HDMI cable (from motherboard). I have never updated my Bios settings.
My initial steps to solve the issue: 1) Turn off the computer 2) Unplug the power cord 3) Test different locations for RAM stick. (My old RAM stick was in the DDM_B2 slot)
After that, I tested to remove the battery from my motherboard. Steps: 1) Remove GPU 2) Remove battery from motherboard 3) Wait 5 min 4) Assemble parts (battery and GPU)
Then I tried steps 1)-3) again. But the issue persists.
After that, I tried to insert the old RAM stick back to its original position. My computer and its fans starts up normally, i.e. no beep sound. But still no signal from either display or keyboard and mouse.
If the issue is GPU, the keyboard and mouse should still work, right? If the issue is PSU, then computer fans and RGB lights for GPU and fans should not work? And the old RAM should still work with my PSU. Could it be that the battery is inserted poorly? I am really out of ideas.
Is my situation hopeless?
I would greatly appreciate any help you could give me!

Is it pretty common for these batteries to be faulty or sensitive to how you put them on the charger? I got 5 new m18 5.0 batteries and 3 chargers from tool kits that I bought yesterday. Every single one has flashed red and green until I firmly pushed them into the charger base, seems like just the slightest shift would disconnect them. Theres no way they could be charged while going down the road between job sites. One of them will take charge for a few minutes and then flashes red/green and another one has been on the charger for 2 hours and is still only showing 1 of 4 leds but the charger has a solid red light. For the money these seem unreliable and poor quality which is a shame because the tools themselves seem great. Is this just a fluke? Maybe this home depot got a bad batch? Never had this problem with any of my dewalt stuff.

Toyota is offering a glimpse of a future that’s not just carbon neutral, but goes “Beyond Zero”. The automotive giant has just launch the Toyota bZ4X, the first of a global series of battery-electric vehicles, and made an investment of $50 million in a state-of-the-art battery lab in Michigan.

Shinichi Yasui, executive vice president of Toyota Motor North America (TMNA), Research and Development, asserts, “This new investment in our North American R&D operation shows Toyota’s directional shift towards electrification for all.” The “Beyond Zero” vision sees Toyota committed to helping reduce carbon emissions by offering customers a broad array of 15 electrified vehicles to choose from.

Introducing the 2023 Toyota bZ4X

The bZ4X is the leading light in Toyota’s push beyond carbon neutrality. Its key features include an EPA-estimated range rating of up to 252 miles per charge for XLE FWD, available AWD with X-MODE® system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, among others.
