2023.06.08 11:03 AcanthocephalaNo241 My cat hates me so much right now đ
Hi everyone. I hope it won't sound like I'm making a drama out of nothing but I'm just so upset.
Nine days ago I adopted a beautiful tortoiseshell and white, Marnie. She's settled in really well on the whole, though she can suddenly turn in the middle of being fussed.
Last night she slept on my bed and next to me to begin with. As I'm typing this she's hiding under it while I have a comforting drink at Costa.
Marnie was sick on Monday night and had been making some quite concerning yowling noises, sometimes before using her litter tray. So I rang the vet yesterday and they booked her in for 9.15 this morning.
However, I just couldn't get her into the carrier even putting food and a toy inside. She ended up trying to scratch and bite me as well as hissing at me. I left home in tears and don't want to go back there because now I think she'll still be hiding and hating me. I'm feeling so torn and wondering if I've blown the bond we've established because she's only been with me such a short time - and I love her so much đŞđŞ

2023.06.08 10:57 throwawaysj92 I'm in love with my best friend of sixteen years.
To my best friend turned boyfriend,
I love you. It's only been two weeks and I've always heard that when you meet the one, you just know.
You've always being my shoulder to lean on. Whether it was through the sudden death of our mutual friend, relationship woes, or any other hardship I've faced, you never wavered. Ever.
The flirting didn't start until a few weeks ago, and honestly it took both of us by surprise since everything has always been platonic between us. And when I kissed you for the first time at the end of my driveway, it felt like a home I never knew I longed for.
Between the late night messages, ranting about season eight of Game of Thrones, and the heated discussions about Avatar: The Last Airbender, a part of me started to feel more than friendship, but we had been friends ever since high school in 2007. I had no idea if you felt the same, so I stayed quiet, wishing you well from afar out of fear of losing the one constant in my life.
My constant. Every time I felt like my world was falling apart, I'd message you and you always responded. You respected my boundaries, and always found a way to cheer me up and build my strength so I could face whatever was being thrown my way at the time.
Then you called me gorgeous, and we took the plunge into something scary and unknown, and wonderfully new.
Sixteen years and five heartbreaks later, here I am in love with my best friend. I can't tell you yet, it's too soon and I'm terrified. But I will tell you eventually. I need to be patient, and do this right because it's YOU.
But I love you. I love your beautiful eyes, and your breathy little chuckle when I snuggle into you. I love how protective you are of the ones you love. I love the silver strands that are starting to grace your hair. I love your sense of humor, and your mind. God, you're so smart. And so handsome.
I love your laugh, and your outer disdain for Disney musicals even though we both know you have all the words memorized. I love your humility, and your kindness. I love the way you hold my hand even in your sleep. I love your smile, and I love that you finally spoke up about how you felt. Otherwise I never would have known this feeling I feel now as I sit in bed and type this.
I love my best friend, and I'm so afraid. But I hope you'll continue to be my shoulder to lean on for sixteen more years and then some. You deserve the world, and I hope by some miracle I can give it to you. I hope I can be your constant like you've been for me.
You're worth the wait, you always have been. And I can't wait to wake up next to my best friend again.

2023.06.08 10:53 andandetcetc Is Division 1 easier than 2,3 and 4? Player quality bottle necks etc.
First thing to say is Iâm a relatively casual player. For most of the year I feel like my team has always been two steps behind the power curve until TOTS where Iâve had a bit of luck and got Bernardo Silva, Varane and Dias fairly early on. However, even with those players I was still struggling to get through division 3 and 2, with games being either extremely attritional sweat fests or absolute demolitions (you know, when you score/concede three instantly).
In recent days things seemed to have suddenly changed and Iâm not quite sure why. During Ligue 1 TOTS I had pulled Mendes and Clauss and liked using them while trying to do the cup grind. Sissoko and Fofana were also cheap and dominant in the middle but I wasnât a fan of all the others I was able to access such as Cavella, Mavididi. My aim was to try and find a full chemistry squad build which I could afford that featured Mendes and Clauss, because I seemed to do better than when using Cole and Cancelo (TOTY). I couldnât afford any of the beastly Ligue 1 French strikers and so struggled to get full chemistry with the prem players mentioned above. But then everything changed when I pulled Ben Yedder the other day with my red rewards that suddenly appeared in the store! I actually pulled Ben Yedder twice. Iâve never used his card but he was the missing link I needed.
In terms of how my team ended up. I use 4-3-2-1. Allison GK, Clauss RB, Dias and Varane, CBs, Mendes LB, Alonso CM, Sissoko CM, Bernardo Silva CM, Kaka (91) left CF, Salah (out of position) right CF, and Ben Yedder ST. My tactics are basically balanced, with direct passing, Sissoko as the defensive midfielder, Salah and Ben Yedder as the strikers (in this formation Salahâs attacking AI is excellent) and Kaka sort of operating as a floating left winger. The wing backs are overlapping but I tend to play them as inverted wingbacks with build up starting with Alonso or Bernardo. Although maybe not the best you do get some nice authentic feeling play. Typically Iâve struggled against players who know the mechanics that short circuit the AI, e.g. those stupid early crosses, or pinged through balls to Mbappe. Having said that my defence AI is pretty good at negating all but the worst cheese.
As I said Iâve always been struggling to get into division 1, but since assembling this team Iâve experienced a complete turnaround. I easily passed through Division 2, often dominating games in passing, chances and possession with so many attacking options to enable excellent moves and authentic feeling build up play. The combination of Salah, Ben Yedder and Bernado, even though small kings, is genuinely game changing compared with my previous attacking options such as Torres, Forlan and others.
However, the most surprising thing Iâve noticed is that I am absolutely flying in Div 1. I played five rivals games last night and easily won all of them. Most of the teams appeared better than mine or level (eg Zidanes, Vieira all over the place), but my squad is always competitive. What I canât work out is whether the competition is just weaker in the league compared with previous leagues or Iâm just experiencing the feeling of having a meta team that suits my game style (which is depressing given how it shows the advantage pay to win players will have). However, I do doubt the latter because I am sure every player in my team could be replaced by a better player. So Iâm wondering whether this reflects a more general experience where divisions 2,3,4 are bottlenecks on progress, while division 1 has mild difficulty drop before hitting the top players in Elite?

2023.06.08 10:51 DragonLlamma anyone got tips for 10/20 in fnaf sl?
2023.06.08 10:41 ThrowRA_kisuhari i (21f) am not sure if my friend's (m22) behaviour is "just friendly" anymore after talking to a close friend
i (21f) was recently having a conversation with a friend D (also 21f) about our mutual friend K (22m), who we have known for several months now. i was telling her about the dynamic between K and i, to which she said it sounds like K might like me as more than a friend, and was curious as to what others thought.
for added context, I have a closer friendship with K due to being more free to hang out and willing to spend time with him more than D. K is from Norway and will be leaving the country I live in in early July of this year to return back home.
now here are the things that made her think that he might think of me as more than a friend.
for starters, he often lets me stay over at his place to sleep during the day if I get exhausted after work, as his residence is closer to my workplace than mine is. I'll go over there and sleep for a couple hours, then wake up and chill for a few more before going home.
this is where the "more than friends" things begin to come into play.
he will ask me to wrestle with him (which I have a couple times and lost incredibly quickly due to our size difference, with him being 6'1 and I being 5'3) or he'll pick me up throw me around, often onto his bed while teasing me to eat more because I'm supposedly "light" in weight. whenever we do "fight" he likes to pin my legs and knees and tease me about how i won't be able to escape.
if I'm lying down on my stomach or back on his bed, he will occasionally just come over and collapse on top of me, explaining how he's bored and wants to be entertained. when I complain he's like a heavy weighted blanket, he'll laugh and tell me to deal with it as he scrolls on his phone, and we'll stay like like for like a half hour or so. whenever I tried to move to make myself more comfortable, he would grab my legs with his hands to stop me from moving so much.
the most recent thing he did was a couple days ago, when I was sitting up against his headboard. he climbed onto the bed without saying a word, grabbed a pillow, put it against my legs and leaned back on it, essentially using me as a chair of sorts with the pillow as a barrier between us. after about five minutes of this, he complained that his neck was tired and rested it back on my collarbone (? english isn't my first language, so bear with me) as he continued to scroll through his phone. occasionally he'd turn back his head to look at me and show me something, and his face would be so close with his hair tickling my neck, which would make me panic internally of sorts.
he's also said a couple times about how I need a boyfriend to keep me warm (as I get cold easily), his preferences and types (although it never goes anything above PG) and teases me for being "innocent" due to being inexperienced when it comes to dating and relationships. we also tend to tease each other a lot, and he has no problem in taking off his shirt and changing in front of me, often bragging to me about how he has "abs".
there's also been a few instances where we've been with friends and i've gotten intoxicated and he's let me use him as a pillow of sorts. apparently every time I would wake up, he would pat my hair and shush me to go back to sleep and would pretty much take care of me for most of the night until it was time for me to head home.
we tend to also message each other very often throughout the day, and call for hours on end several times a week, and he often says things like how he wants a hug, he misses snuggling with someone, how i was comfortable, etc, etc.
I know a lot about him, such as his past relationships and how he would never make the first move when it comes to a girl, as he is afraid of being accused of something he didn't do later on. he also calls me his closest and most favourite friend, which makes me think he only does just see me as one, but he also doesn't do this with our other female friends. he also often says how he wants a girlfriend, but also just wants to work on himself.
i cannot tell if this is normal behaviour between male and female friends, and want to know what others may think.
again, apologies if there are some things that don't make sense, as english isn't my first language, and if there was too much information. it's just that since my friend has suggested he could see me as something more, it's been on my mind a lot and has me analysing every interaction between us. this is also my first time posting on reddit, so again, apologies if this post is a little messy.
TLDR: friend thinks my male friend might think of me as more than just a friend due to things he does. also posted on relationships and
relationship_advice. i'm just trying to get as many different opinions as possible, as i'm very confused on what to think or do.

2023.06.08 10:41 scorpricorn weird n' creepy former tutor keeps trying to neg me
I canât stand this person. I need advice on how to burn them in a way that stops them from negging me.
Storytime:
I had to take an advanced statistics class last semester, I found the class to be extremely difficult, so swallowed my intellectual pride and found a tutor through the school.
He was just close enough to my age to think it was acceptable to ask for all of my social media accounts. Reluctantly, I gave in, hoping it would at least ensure his continued presence.
Throughout the semester, this guy was surprisingly helpful in explaining stats to me. I gotta give credit where it's due. But here's the catch: he also revealed some seriously concerning and downright bizarre stuff about himself. I'm talking about hanging out with Andrew Tate, claiming he got "special favors" from priests when he was 15 and enjoyed it (yikes), and even bragging about helping his friend in Thailand run a questionable "Twitch haram."
After the semester ended, he kept reaching out to me, insisting we hang out. Against my better judgment, I agreed to go to a Taco Tuesday/DJ Night he was hosting, mainly for the train wreck entertainment it promised. And boy, was I right. The party was a total flop. Imagine five people, most of them overweight and utterly dull, festering together on a couch in the corner of the room while they became transfixed on 99c store light-up toys and fidget spinners. Meanwhile, my tutor-turned-host was noticeably blown out, sporting a gaudy gold jacket, prancing around like a maniac, showing off his giant golden Jenga set, and randomly fiddling with the DJ equipment. It was a train wreck of cringe.
After enduring one hour of his shenanigans, I couldn't take it anymore. I discreetly texted my fiancĂŠ to come and check out the madness/scoop me. They arrived, took one look, and we swiftly made our exit.
Since that odd night, I've rarely spoken to this person. I ignore his Instagram messages 99% of the time, which he sends far too often. Most of them are just inane attention-seeking bs, but whenever I post a picture of myself, he manages to squeeze in some snide remark about my appearance. It's annoying, to say the least. This person is the epitome of cringe, and I have zero desire to engage with them.

2023.06.08 10:09 brackk2 Schizotypal fact sheet (version 2)
Schizotypal fact sheet version 2 Here is the updated version of the 'schizotypal fact sheet' I posted a couple years ago. I will probably add more to it and is somewhat of a rough draft. Suggestions for things to include and constructive criticism are appreciated. The full schizotypal fact sheet is much too long for redditâs character limit, however I have uploaded it at
Schizotypal Fact Sheet (version 2) (cloudfindingss.blogspot.com). This post is a summarized and simplified version, with the full schizotypal fact sheet going into more detail, along with citations.
Symptoms Examples and more elaborate description of these symptoms are on the full schizotypal fact sheet
Ideas of reference: A tendency to perceive and over-interpret social cues and social occurrences relating to one's self that are unlikely, and a tendency to over-mentalise (think about and detect others thoughts, intentions, and mental states) in relation to oneself.
Magical thinking: Persons with schizotypal personality disorder tend to experience passing magical thoughts and often have magical beliefs, which are specifically unconventional and self referential (i.e., adherence to christianity, paganism, astrology, etc are not indicative of magical thinking and occur commonly in the general population)
Odd speech: Persons with schizotypal personality disorder tend to have unusual patterns of speaking and may have difficulty articulating themselves properly.
Eccentricity: Persons with schizotypal personality disorder tend to be seen as odd and eccentric by others and have unusual behaviors. Importantly, this eccentricity is not the same as oddness caused by social deficits or symptoms associated with other disorders like autism that may be considered odd
Social anxiety: Particularly extreme social anxiety often occurs in schizotypal personality disorder, and results in avoidance of social situations and interactions, often involving referential thinking and paranoid ideation
No close friends: Persons with schizotypal personality disorder tend to have little to no friends as a result of excessive social anxiety, paranoid fears, as well as a need for independence and to not be influenced by others.
Unusual perceptual experiences: A tendency to experience fleeting, mild forms of hallucinations such as visual, auditory, tactile, and bodily distortions. Typically the person is aware that these distortions are hallucinations.
Constricted affect: Persons with schizotypal personality disorder tend to have constricted and unusual expressions of emotion, especially socially. It is important to distinguish from unusual expression of emotion caused by social deficits in autism or other mental disorders
Paranoid ideation: Persons with schizotypal personality disorder frequently experience paranoid thoughts and suspiciousness of others motives. Typically this occurs in association with referential thinking, and involves preoccupation with fears of persecution, exclusion, and conspiracy against oneself, but not cynical interpretations of others motives which is associated with other mental disorders
Common traits Antagonomia: Unconditional skepticism toward common beliefs, ways of thinking, assumptions, and values, taking an eccentric stance in opposition, with a drive to understand the world at a deeper level in a detached, anthropologist or scientist like manner, which is often perceived as a gift and having a radically unique and exceptional being
Delayed sleep phase: A tendency to sleep and wake much later than the average person, with better mood and mental functioning during the night than in the day
Ambivalence: An abnormally high tendency to have strong mixed feelings toward many things, such as other people, one's self, and decisions
Dyslexic-like traits: Dyslexia is linked to the schizophrenia spectrum and schizotypal personality disorder is associated with features of dyslexia
Motor control: Difficulties with fine motor control are found in StPD, often leading to difficulties with skills such as handwriting and using tools that require precision
Self disorders Anomalous self experience is thought to be a core feature of schizophrenia spectrum disorders that is unique to schizophrenia spectrum disorders, in contrast to many symptoms which are transdiagnostic. The sense of selfhood, self ownership, embodiment, identity, and immersion in the social world is lacking in schizophrenia spectrum disorders, which leads to traits like antagonomia, hyper-reflectivity, eccentricity, double bookkeeping, social isolation, and âbizzareâ delusions.
Hyper-reflectivity: Exaggerated self-consciousness and abnormally high levels of reflection and introspection, disengaging from typical involvement in society and nature, perceiving oneself from a sort of âthird person perspectiveâ. This may drive some individuals with schizotypal traits or StPD to an interest in psychology, with many innovative psychologists having significant signs of schizotypal personality disorder.
Double bookkeeping: A âsplitâ experience of reality, where one reality is based in the laws of nature and independence of the mind from the external world, and the other reality is a âdelusionalâ private framework that violates the laws of nature, which co-exist.
Childhood schizotypal personality disorder There is a common misconception that schizophrenia spectrum disorders begin at adolescence, however this is not the case, rather the onset of psychosis tends to occur in adolescence, but schizophrenia spectrum disorders and symptoms are present from childhood. Children with schizotypal personality disorder have similar symptoms to adults, and may additionally have autistic-like traits (such as strong interests) which tend to fade into adulthood.
The schizophrenia spectrum Schizotypal personality disorder is not a distinct category of personality and brain function, but is rather on a continuum with 'normal' personality, from no schizotypal traits all the way to severe schizophrenia. Traits of schizotypal personality disorder in the general population are referred to as "schizotypy". Increased levels of schizotypy are characteristic of creative, imaginative, open-minded, eccentric individuals who may otherwise be high functioning and healthy. Schizoid and avoidant personality disorder are included in this spectrum.
Personality traits In the big five, schizotypal personality disorder is characterized by high openness, low conscientiousness, low extraversion, and high neuroticism. High openness and low conscientiousness most clearly differentiate schizotypal personality from schizophrenia and controls.
In MBTI, schizotypal personality is associated with introversion, intuition, thinking, and perceiving (INTP type).
On the fisher temperament inventory, StPD is associated with low cautious/social norm compliant and analytical/tough minded, and higher prosocial/empathetic and curious/energetic temperaments
Anxious avoidant attachment style is associated with StPD
Interests and Strengths Schizotypal personality disorder is associated with having creative interests, hobbies, and professions, such as painting, music, comedy, scientific research, and entrepreneurship. Increased creativity, imagination, and global processing (âbig pictureâ thinking).
Cognitive ability and intelligence In contrast to schizophrenia, intellectual ability is not reduced in StPD but there are specific impairments in areas such as attention and verbal learning. Intelligence effects the presentation of StPD, being associated with lower magical and paranormal beliefs, lower sexual and social anhedonia, more successful creativity, and better theory of mind
Theory of Mind Theory of mind ability is generally reduced in StPD, however this is not caused by mentalizing deficits as in autism, and are largely due to lower cognitive ability that is associated with schizophrenia spectrum disorders, anomalous self experience, and hyper-mentalizing.
Relationship with worldviews and religiosity Schizotypy is conducive to affective religious experiences (e.g., feeling connected to a higher power), however evidence suggests that persons with StPD are less likely to be religious than the general population, but may have unconventional spiritual beliefs (âspiritual but not religiousâ)
Relationships with other disorders Psychopathy StPD is associated with low levels of primary psychopathy (e.g., dominance, lack of empathy, high stress tolerance, deceptiveness), and high secondary psychopathy (e.g., impulsivity, rebelliousness, social deviance)
Borderline personality disorder StPD and BPD overlap very highly and are related disorders, however persons with BPD do not have negative symptoms (social isolation, extreme social anxiety, hyper-independence, constricted affect) and also do not have self disorders, whereas those with StPD do
Other SSDs Given that StPD is on a spectrum with other schizophrenia spectrum disorders, there is overlap between the disorders with shared symptoms. Put simply, those with schizoid PD meet criteria for avoidant PD, those with schizotypal PD meet criteria for both, and those with schizophrenia meet criteria for all three. Avoidant PD involves social withdrawal and severe social anxiety, schizoid PD involves constricted affect, hyper-independence, and eccentricity on top of AvPD symptoms, and schizotypal PD involves odd speech, perceptual distortions, magical thinking, ideas of reference, and paranoia. Schizophrenia involves psychosis, anhedonia, cognitive deficits, and more severe expression of the symptoms of schizotypal PD.
Bipolar disorder Bipolar disorder is very closely related to the schizophrenia spectrum, and it has been suggested that bipolar disorder may be on a continuum with schizotypal personality disorder and schizophrenia. Most people with bipolar disorder will have symptoms of schizotypal personality disorder and vice versa.
Histrionic & Narcissistic personality disorder HPD and NPD are negatively associated with StPD, however they may appear superficially similar in some aspects (e.g., idionomia in StPD may be mistaken as narcissistic grandiosity).
Obsessive compulsive spectrum StPD shows a positive relationship with OCD, but a negative relationship with obsessive compulsive personality disorder (OcPD), as OcPD involves hyper-conscientiousness and conformity whereas low conscientiousness and disinhibition are characteristic of schizotypy
Substance use Substance use is extremely common in StPD, with 67% of patients having a diagnosable substance use disorder
Mood disorders Mood disorders including generalized anxiety, major depression, and panic disorder are very common in schizotypal personality disorder, as is the case in most psychiatric disorders
Dissociative disorders Depersonalization and derealization are common in StPD, and there is evidence that dissociative disorders and schizophrenia spectrum disorders may have shared causes
ADHD Symptoms of ADHD are very common in StPD, and differences in attention and self regulation are thought to play a part in the causation of StPD.
Autism Autism and StPD appear to overlap, but this is largely due to transdiagnostic symptoms and superficial similarities. Thorough and theoretically informed examination of the relationship between these disorders suggests that they are likely opposite ends of a continuum. Currently, no clinical tools exist that can differentiate the two disorders, however there is one being developed currently set to be completed by the end of 2023. Comorbid diagnoses of autism and StPD largely appear to be false positives upon investigation, and evidence suggests that a true comorbidity would either be characterized by very high intelligence or severe intellectual disability. Some distinctions (that are easily observable) between the disorders are listed below
- Interests
- Interests in StPD oriented towards creation, such as music production, poetry writing, original paintings, etc. Not all artistic or conventionally considered âcreativeâ interests are necessarily creative in this way
- Interests in autism oriented toward collection of things or facts in structured domains, such as learning everything about a TV show or all the types of airplanes. Individuals with autism are often drawn to media and mechanical interests, such as video games or machines
- Sexuality
- StPD associated with increased effort and willingness for casual sex experiences, reduced investment into long term relationships, lower sexual disgust, earlier development of sexuality, and unusual sexual interests, consistent with a fast life history strategy
- Autism associated with reduced effort and willingness for casual sex experiences, higher sexual disgust, higher effort into long term relationships, delayed development of sexuality, and a high frequency of asexuality, consistent with a slow life history strategy
- Regulation
- High levels of impulsivity, excitement seeking, drug use, risk taking, and novelty seeking, and low levels of self control, focus, responsibility, and organization, low levels of OcPD traits in StPD
- Lower impulsivity, excitement seeking, risk taking, and novelty seeking, and is associated with higher orderliness, focus, perfectionism, and perseverance. Low rate of drug use. High levels of OcPD traits
- Social correlates
- Low socioeconomic status at birth and careers and college majors in arts and humanities associated with StPD
- High socioeconomic status at birth and careers and college majors in technical fields and physical sciences associated with autism
- Worldviews
- Idiosyncratic worldviews, lower disgust-based, rule-based, and authority-based morality in StPD
- More conventional worldviews with higher influence from culture and caregivers, more disgust-based, rule-based, authority-based morality, lower intention-based morality in autism
- Cognition
- Low attention to detail, enhanced âbig pictureâ thinking and ability to detect more general patterns in chaotic and noisy information. Increased perception of non-literal meaning and intentionality in speech. Chaotic, hyper-associative understanding of word meaning, increased awareness of different potential intended meanings of speech. Increased pain tolerance, high openness to experience in StPD
- High attention to detail, sensory acuity, reduced ability to detect general patterns in chaotic and noisy information, reduced âbig pictureâ thinking. Literal, rigid, rule based interpretation of language, reduced ability to understand non-literal language and unconventional or incorrect use of words, reduced use of intention in determining the meaning of speech. Reduced pain tolerance, lower openness to experience in autism
Biological causes StPD is mostly genetic, but trauma may increase symptom severity
Cannabinoid system Cannabis produces effects resembling StPD symptoms and associated traits, and StPD is associated with higher levels of anandamide, the neurotransmitter which activates the same receptors as cannabis. Cannabis is also found to temporarily increase the severity of positive symptoms
Serotonin system Higher serotonin is associated with conformity, conscientiousness, and low openness, which is opposite of StPD. People with StPD have higher levels of enzymes that break down serotonin, and lower expression of some serotonin receptors.
Dynorphin system Dynorphin is a stress hormone that produces dysphoria, dissociation, and psychotic-like symptoms and cognition. Dynorphin levels are associated with increased severity of schizophrenia spectrum symptoms
Glutamate & NMDA NMDA is a type of glutamate receptor that is reduced in association with schizophrenia spectrum disorders. NMDA blockers cause symptoms and associated traits of StPD and can induce psychosis, and people with StPD also have higher levels of the NMDA antagonist neurotransmitter agmatine.
Cognitive, psychological, and evolutionary causes Predictive processing A recent model of schizotypy suggests that it is a cognitive-perceptual specialization for processing chaotic and noisy data, where patterns and relationships exist but can only be detected if minor inconsistencies are ignored (i.e., focusing on the 'big picture'), where giving higher weight to prediction errors prevents the detection of false patterns (i.e. apophenia) at the cost of being unable to detect higher level patterns (autism), and giving lower weight to prediction errors allows for the detection of higher level patterns at the cost of occasionally detecting patterns that don't exist, as in delusions and hallucinations that occur in schizotypy. This model explains many traits associated with schizotypy and links other theories of schizotypy
Hyper-mentalizing The hyper-mentalizing model suggests that symptoms like ideas of reference, paranoia, erotomania, auditory hallucinations, delusions of conspiracy, etc are a result of excessive mentalizing, where intentions are inferred excessively to the point of delusion, in contrast to autism where mentalizing is reduced. Many other features and associated traits like odd speech and increased creativity can be explained by this model.
Imagination It is thought that StPD may involve overly increased imagination, which can explain symptoms and features like hyper-mentalizing, dissociation, perceptual deficits, and enhanced creativity.
Life history It is suggested that StPD may have been evolutionarily selected for due to its ability to enhance short term mating success through enhanced creativity and non-conformity, which are beneficial to desirability as short term partners, but not long term partners. This is supported by studies showing that persons with high traits of StPD have more total sexual partners, more effort into forming short term relationships, and lower effort into maintaining long term ones. This is consistent with a fast life history strategy, and StPD correlates with other markers of fast strategies such as impulsivity, sensation seeking, low disgust sensitivity, earlier maturation, etc.
Hyper-openness and apophenia Openness to experience is associated with apophenia and intelligence, though the two latter traits are negatively related to eachother. It is suggested that schizotypy represents apophenia, and an imbalance of high openness relative to intelligence is suggested to cause symptoms of StPD. This model is in agreement with other models, with openness relating to higher imagination, mentalizing, and faster life history strategies.

2023.06.08 10:08 itsallalittleblurry Holding Vigil
I was five or six years old when I wore a suit for the first time. And I hated it. The collar felt too tight, and I kept running my finger around under it to try to loosen it up.
Just a clip-on tie. It would have been a simple matter to take it off and undo the top button of my shirt. But dad was in an unaccustomed suit of his own, and he didnât, so I didnât.
It was a formal occasion, you see. His mother had died, and the two of us were sitting up with her through the night.
An old tradition still practiced among us at that time. Heartening back to a much earlier time, when medical science wasnât as advanced, and before embalming became a common practice. But still observed.
For three days and nights, someone would be in constant attendance upon the deceased.
This would take place in the parlor, or living room, of the home, rather than in a funeral parlor. It was a duty of close Family, or dear friends.
The person would be laid out in state, in the coffin they were to be buried in, with the lid open. And with them, someone or someoneâs would sit and wait.
In the old days, this was done for good reason. A person, with the less exact medical knowledge of the time, would sometimes be mistakenly pronounced dead. Three days, before the advent of embalming, would be sufficient to ensure that they were, by advent of noticeable indications of the beginnings of decay. Also the origin of the tradition of strongly sweet-smelling flowers, as I understand it.
Of course, the person would sometimes revive, or sufficient time would have passed without indications of decay, and so would give notice that perhaps they werenât gone, after all.
But when I was a youngster, a tradition that was still practiced, for traditionâs sake.
It was late at night, the house and all in it sleeping around us. Just the two of us, sitting in hard-backed wooden chairs. Not speaking. A small nightlight on to aid the pale moonlight coming through the window. Just enough to see by.
Iâs stood and looked at her for a while earlier. Out of curiosity, mostly. Unlike Gram and Gramp, Iâd had known her hardly at all. The one or two times Iâd met her in the past, sheâd been a cold, stern, unsmiling woman who hadnât seemed to like us much. I would come to know in years yet to come that sheâd never approved of Mother, though they were kin. Or at least, of her marriage to dad. And I guess that had applied to us children, as well. It had been the cause of a certain distance developing between her and dad, too, as time had passed.
My Grampa Wallace, her husband, had been dead for years before my time, so I knew him only from a couple of photographs. In them, heâd been as stern and unsmiling as she.
She didnât look much different now, I thought, than on the rare occasion Iâd seen her when she was still alive.
Death wasnât really a mystery to even young children who had spent their early years as we had. We knew first-hand where the meat we ate came from, for instance. And we knew that all living things, including people, must someday die, as we eventually would ourselves. It was the natural order of things, and not a thing to be feared for itself, beyond the reticence of anything that lived to not continue to do so.
Granny Caroline had long lived out of state, had been brought back Home, upon her death, to be buried beside her husband.
The house she was laid out in was not the old family home, but that of Uncle Woodrow and Aunt Tate. It being not as distant, and easier to access for all those wishing to come pay their respects.
I loved that old house myself. Weâd visited it many times when I was small, before weâd moved to the City. The thing I liked best about it was its location.
Uncle Woodrow had picked up the property itself for next to nothing years ago, and built the house for himself and Aunt Tate. It was just a small piece of ground, comparable in size to a City lot. A small fenced and gated front yard, and a back yard big enough for a little grass and a truck garden. On the edge of one of the small towns that were found here and there, off the state route.
Uncle Wood had been either a cheap or a broke bastard, or both. Or perhaps his part-Scotts heritage had made him literally unable to pass up such a deal.
The reason it had been so cheap was that no one else had wanted it. It sat at the very edge of the railroad right-of-way. You could fit three cars or trucks side-by-side between the front gate and the raised track bed, if you didnât mind parking them close to each other; but no more.
And so, the problem was the coal trains. Those long caravans of heavily loaded hopper cars would rumble past with some frequency, so over-topped-off that chunks of coal would invariably fall off along their route.
And they would frequently pass at considerable speed. And so long that if you were caught at a crossing, you might as well shut your engine off and get comfortable. You were gonna be there for a little while.
And you didnât want to get in the way of one. They didnât stop for shit. They couldnât. Not without half the width of the county to do it in.
The ground would shake as those things went by. And so would the house. As a sprat, I used to like to stand in the front room where Caroline now lay, listen to the glass in the windows rattle, and watch Aunt Tateâs curios and figurines dance on their shelves; waiting for one or two to fall off. But none ever did. They were wide shelves.
Wood and Tate never seemed to pay it any mind. You can get used to anything, I guess.
Caroline had been late getting Home, in the first place. Arrangements had been made for her to be flown Home. Lost luggage had long been an issue in the airline industry, of course. But this time they did one better - they lost Caroline.
She was located eventually, of course, and returned to where she was supposed to be. A woman whoâd never been out of the Continental United States in her life had finally made it to Hawaii.
So dad and I sat in the quiet, dark room, in the silent, dark house, in our uncomfortable, stiff suits, and kept her company throughout the night.

2023.06.08 10:07 Bulb0rb Why are inner worlds talked about as if they're separate planes of existence?
I always see people ask, "How do I get into the inner world?" or "How can I leave the front and live in the head space?" or "I can't find my headspace" and I don't really get it. Maybe I'm missing something?
The way I understand it, inner worlds are not exclusive to OSDD/DID, anyone can have or create an inner world. It is an imaginary place, one that is very useful and personal but still imaginary. Sometimes they're made unconciously without even knowing, but if you don't have one or can't pin it down, you can just make one? It doesn't need to be from scratch, you can imagine a place you've already seen (real or fictional) or mash together different concepts.
Our system didn't have a consistent inner world so we just went on Pinterest and gathered different ideas for what we generally wanted it to look like, and then each alter also created their own room.
I can "access" the inner world by thinking about it. if im dissociating, sometimes i can imagine it very vividly to the point where my mental image captures much more of my attention than irl. it's like a daydream, a special one where I can interact with my system in a shared environment. it doesn't feel "fake", but it doesn't feel like I'm ACTUALLY there.
The way people are wording it makes it sound like they expect to actually GO there and touch it physically with full clarity, like having a dream at night. Do people actually experience their inner worlds like this while the body is awake? Are people setting their expectations too high out of desperation to escape real life (understandable), or am I just straight up doing something wrong?

2023.06.08 10:06 Salty-Psychology-574 "Câmon lads! Letâs show these bastards how fight! ăThe Meanest of Timesăblow these arseholes to bits!!!"
Stand Name: The Meanest of Times
Namesake: album by the Dropkick Murphys
Localized Name: ăThe Meanest of Yearsă
Stand User: Corbin "The Fuse" MacCaffrey-
Appearance: Standing at 6â2 with a limber build with grayed red hair in a small rat-tail ponytail, green eyes, a full fuzzy beard and mustache, numerous scars from bullet wounds and shrapnel, a tattoo of the words "Tiocfaidh ĂĄr lĂĄ" in all caps in a gothic font is written down his spine, and has two prosthetic running blade legs colored like the Irish flag. For clothes Corbin wears a black muscle-t, black flat cap, a black two-hole balaclava, a woodland camo military uniform with his jacket buttoned halfway, black sneakers, and black fingerless gloves.
Background: Corbin is a 59 year old man hailing from Donegal, Ireland who was an active IRA member during the Troubles and is now a mercenary under the employ of "Feel Good Inc.". Corbin is a very brash, zealous, and vulgar man who prides his Irish heritage greatly. But even still he is dedicated to the people he calls his friends and is very unshakable in his alliances, oaths, and what not.
Corbin was born into a very patriotic family who were very about their Irish pride and instilled this patriotism into Corbin who gradually adopted these beliefs. Corbin was a very street-tough getting into scraps at a very young age making him a bit of a fight seeker. But a calling came for Corbin in 1972 when Bloody Sunday, where British soldiers shot protesters who were protesting the internment of Irish nationalists, happened. Corbin was beyond outraged by this and at the age of 18 he signed up to join the IRA where he was trained as an urban guerrilla.
Through the course of 7 years of fighting in the Troubles, Corbin took part in bombings, shootouts, smuggling, propaganda, and a few assassinations that turned him into a zealot of a soldier willing to die for the cause. Though was an incident during a bombing in his 5th year of duty, when Corbin had set a shorter timer than expected and the explosion shredded his legs. One of his fellow soldiers got him to a hospital where the doctors had to amputate his legs. Corbin was surprisingly ok with this, if anything he was just mildly annoyed and was soon fitted with some running blade prosthetics. He adapted very quickly and was soon returned to the frontlines where even his lack of legs didnât stop him fighting at his full potential.
However, the British army was closing in on Corbin and his fellow soldiers and decided to go into hiding in Dublin as even Corbin could see that the war wasnât going in their favor. Corbin laid low for a long while even after the Troubles was over but still kept in contact with his IRA buddies. Though after years of laying low, Corbin grew restless and wanted to throw himself back into the fray. He then found an ad for "Feel Good Inc." where he became fascinated with their mercenary work styled as vigilantism and signed himself up. He was then brought on made a name for himself as a very experienced mercenary, who was proficient in explosives and urban combat and had claimed lots of contracts. This led to him being recruited into the "Demon Days Unit" which are FGIâs most elite mercenaries.
Corbin met the Captain of the DDU and got into a scrap with him when the Captain pulled out a very odd knife. Corbin caught the knife with his hand and the Captain immediately pulled it out and stopped fighting him to the confusion of Corbin. He became even more confused when the wound on his hand immediately vanished. And after the weirdest debriefing he had ever received talking about the concepts of "stands" and "stand users" Corbin eventually understood and passed the test to join the DDU.
Corbin has now been the crews demolitions man, blowing up anything that needs blowing up with absolute devotion to FGIâs cause. He may be a rather brash individual but he always be willing to put his life on the line to help his DDU friends.
Other Facts: â˘Favorite food is bacon and waffles â˘Is quite the party drinker, and tends to get wasted often â˘Favorite drink is whiskey â˘Has a hip flask at all times that he takes swigs from â˘Has an playlist on his phone that is just filled with Irish war songs â˘Favorite song is Come Out Ye Black and Tans
Stats: ACT 1-2-3
Power: C-B-A
Speed: C-B
Range: B
Durability: D
Precision: C-B
Potential: B-C-E
Appearance: ACT 1: Standing at 5â3 ăThe Meanest of Timesălooks a robotic humanoid with a black welderâs mask with a green visor for a head, a slim brown body thatâs scratched and dented, noticeable spikes where itâs feet should be which mimics Corbinâs prosthetics, rivets all over itâs body, and wears jean shorts and a brown leather vest.
ACT 2: Now standing at 5â8, TMT maintains a very similar appearance to ACT 1 with the welding mask with 2 green visored eyes and brown body, but itâs body is more athletic now. The rivets are now more symmetrically placed all over the body, with some on the knuckles for some added kick to punches. The spikes are now full on feet with poles acting as ankles and the stand now wears a shirt under itâs now buttoned up vest, regular jeans, elbow and knee pads, and a black belt with a clover buckle.
ACT 3: At itâs final height of 6â2 TMT is now more burly still maintaining the welding mask with a single bright green eye for a visor and itâs rivets now a bright gold. Itâs legs now have ankles and it wears a grey shirt under a brown leather jacket with rolled up sleeves, a black flat cap, brown jeans, bandages to cover itâs exposed arms, more rectangular elbow and knee pads, two black leather belts worn in an x-fashion with golden cross buckles, and white sneakers.
Abilities: RC-XD: ăThe Meanest of Timesăhas the ability to create a small remote controlled car in the style of a black Cadillac van with a C4 explosive inside of it. The van also has big wheels which are adhesive and let it drive on walls, a long antenna on the right side of itâs hood, and a dash-cam inside it as well. Through a electronic control pad that TMT summons, Corbin can control the van and see with dash-cam inside to maneuver it to itâs location and deliver a explosion. This ability modifies with each ACT.
ACT 1: Can create one small remote controlled van with a bomb in it with adhesive wheels that let drive on walls.
ACT 2: Can now create a remote controlled plane and boat variant for more versatility but canât swap between the forms. The bomb has had an increase in power.
ACT 3: Can now make 3 remote controlled vans that can swap between their car, plane, and boat forms making them all-terrain. The bomb is now extremely powerful in this ACT.

2023.06.08 09:59 A_horse_a_piece77 "Yesterday's Soccer Mom Is Today's Domestic Extremist": A Guide To Surviving The Culture
| Author and conservative commentator Peachy Keenan is sick and tired of yesterday's soccer mom being treated as today's "domestic extremist", in public discourse by media gatekeepers and government officials alikeâand all the while parents are sheepishly and too easily abdicating their natural role as captains and defenders of the household. https://twitter.com/KeenanPeachy/status/1666121050567110656 https://preview.redd.it/kdnwwyvt1r4b1.png?width=790&format=png&auto=webp&s=7afed3bdff34a513a8b78f22fe5e37368066ecad "They like to make us, the normal people, the moms and dads of America into extremists. But if you look around it's pretty easy to see who the real extremists are," Keenan told Harris Faulkner on Fox prime time Tuesday night. https://www.foxnews.com/video/6328922595112 She is calling for a back to the basics while writing from deep behind 'enemy lines': southern California. " Parenting is not a game. There is no do-over. The book is now available from Regnery. https://www.regnery.com/9781684513529/domestic-extremist/ * * * You had a baby? Look at youâyouâre the captain now! Or are you? The words on a poster taped to a teacherâs classroom door at a New Jersey public school expose the precarious corner American parents have been painted into. âIf your parents arenât accepting of your identity, Iâm your mom now.â The poster featured a drawing of a mama bear tending to her bear cubs, who are each painted the color of a different LGBTQ flag. Parents, I have bad news. Youâve got competition. Someone posted a job listing looking for a new authority figure in your house, and they hired everyone who applied. Lots of other adults, most of them unpleasant strangers, would like to raise your children for youâor at least get your children to hate you. This may already be happeningâand youâll be the last to know! All your hard work to keep creeps, perverts, and kiddie-sniffers away from your kids may get reversed in an instant when youâre not looking. Some parents are okay with this. They can barely handle âadultingâ themselves and are thrilled not to make any tough parental decisions. Abdicating their natural role as master and commander of the household is lazy, but itâs a defensive posture. They live in terror of accusations from other parents of âclosed-mindedness,â or worse, being a prude. American parents have either forgotten their innate, God-given authority over their household or surrendered it in the face of relentless pressure over many years from the outside. Just as millennia of trickling snowmelt can hollow out mighty granite mountains and turn them into canyons, a half-century of unchecked influence by feminists and far-left progressives have chipped away at the role of parents in their childrenâs lives. What is left is a barren wasteland, a valley of shadows, where mothers and fathers have been reduced to nothing more than the oldest dependents in the house. Your job as a parent is not easy, but itâs simple: feed, nurture, love, and protect. In the face of life-and-death dangerâsay, an escaped tiger or an ax-wielding lunaticâprobably 100 percent of parents would risk their lives for their children, even die, without hesitation. So why are so many reluctant to defend their children from less obvious, but equally dangerous, scenarios? You can tell when youâre about to be trampled by elephants. Itâs trickier when the trampling is invisible and being committed by a young teacher with peace stickers on xe/xerâs car. Iâll grant that having pro- nouns in your bio is not quite the same red flag as cruising a playground in a car with no door handles on the inside, but itâs still a red flag parents need to fear. People who manage to produce offspring are too often seduced into voluntarily surrendering their authority over them. They allow various âexpertsâ to hold sway over their kids. Exhausted and confused, they willingly hand their kids off to the local public school teachersâ unions, the DEI struggle-session facilitators, the storytelling drag queens, and the sex-education consultants who arrive at school with teaching props, including wholesome kid-friendly items like dildos and anal lube. Above: School hangs poster that says, \"I'm Your Mom Now\" https://sanzi.substack.com/p/school-hangs-poster-on-the-door-that They all share a common goal: to dilute your authority and increase their own. They aim to groom Americaâs children from birth to become compliant consumers of all they wish to sell them: bespoke genders, any-term abortion, strictly enforced racial hierarchies, a lifetime of therapy, prescription drugs, and whatever political and social ideology they choose to upload into their brains. God forbid you are the only parent at your school who keeps your fifth grader home on Share Your Favorite Sex Toy Day. What will people say? Allow me to remind you gently: itâs your job to steer the ship, avoid icebergs, prevent scurvy, and stave off mutinies. Parenting is not a game. There is no do-over. You are all that stands between your small charges and the roiling storms aheadâand the band of purple-haired nonbinary pirates thatâs about to storm the deck. Sexualized Early and Often Imagine being the only one at the PTA meeting who stands up and objects to your second grader studying detailed diagrams of adult genitalia, or your middle schoolers instructed on how to grant consent to anal sex. (These are real sex ed guidelines introduced in New Jersey public schools in 2020.) Your choices are stark: assert your authority over your children and get called a bigot or go along with the madness and let them take your child to places you donât want them to go. How bad is it? Bad enough that Tiara Mack, a âreproductive justice advocateâ and âchild sex educatorâ running for state senator in Rhode Island tweeted this in 2021: âReally excited for the house sex ed bill hearing later today. Teaching comprehensive, queer inclusive, pleasure-based sex ed was a highlight of my time teaching.â This is who wants to talk to your six-year-old about how to âpleasureâ themselves and their partner! The first step in any cult, or any abusive relationship, is to get the victim to sever ties to their outside friends and family. Maybe youâve seen this happen to people you know. They suddenly change their phone number, delete their social media, and have a new friend nowâone that has them spellbound. Once children come to believe their mom and dad are clueless bigots and racists who are holding them back from being who they are, the cult leaders own them. Government-run public schools have accomplished âregime changeâ in America and transformed us, slowly, from a society centered around the family, where the schools work for the parent, into a society centered around government employees, where families are required to supply the raw goods for the teachersâ unions to mold as they see fit. Year after year, their assembly lines have been left unsupervised to churn out freshly minted graduates. These graduates move on to college, where their high school indoctrination is hardened and polished by professors. The end product is a citizen who will go to his grave believing a set of Ministry of Truthâapproved lies: âwhitenessâ is intrinsically evil, abortion is health care, there are dozens of genders, America was founded on racism and must be dismantled, marriage is oppressive and bad for women, children hold you back, and unchecked sexual âexplorationâ with a variety of partners of every gender is the surest path to emotional happiness. Sane people have a terrible choice to make: exercise parental authority over what their children are taught and risk financial ruin, social blackballing, and permanent cancellationâor allow their kids to be turned against them. When a teacher or government official replaces the parent as the ultimate authority in the childâs life, all bets are off. Educators know that any adult with the authority to influence a child has the power to expose said child to any radical or extreme ideas they want. To them, you are the extremist if you donât think young children need to learn about sex and gender dysphoria yet. You are the extremist if you question a teacher or school administratorâs choice of books to read or lessons to teach. You are an extremely racist extremist if youâd rather not force a five-year-old to feel bad about the color of his skin and apologize for it. In California, students in middle school can ask their school to change their names and genders in the school computer system, and the school is not permitted to inform the parents. The school authorities and the teachers are legally allowed to conspire with eleven-year-olds in sixth grade to induct them into a cult and keep it secret. Literally âitâll be our secret,â a classic groomer move. These government educational bureaucrats may not drive window-less vans and carry dirty magazines and candy bars to lure young boys (although letâs be honest, some do), but they are even more dangerous. Any parents who send a child into an environment like this, either knowingly or blindly, are forfeiting their authority over their kid. The Regimeâs child-catchers are prowling the locker rooms and cafeterias looking for lost, confused pre-teens to cart off to Pleasure Island, where they can get transformed into donkeys without their parentsâ consent. I wouldnât be surprised if Disney is working on a new version of Pinocchio where he asks the Blue Fairy to turn him into a real girl. Parental Surrender Too many sentient adults seem to simply wait for a new update to the operating system to decide what to do with their kids. They unquestioningly accept the Current Parenting Thing, the rancid gruel served up as âeducationâ at the local public school. They surrender their kids to the authorities, in all their forms: teachers, principals, pediatricians, drag queens reading stories, social media influencers, YouTubers, Disney, Netflix, TikTok, the Kardashiansâanyone who is credentialed as a âkid expertâ or âimportantâ now holds more sway over American kids than their own mothers and fathers. âWho am I to tell my kids how to behave, or what to learn, or how to think about the world? Iâm just a random person who had a baby. I made plenty of mistakes in my life. How can I possibly ask my children to obey me?â This is why we canât have nice things. This is why healthy toddlers were kept in COVID masks for two years while they sat in sandboxes alone, outside, in rain or sleet. This is why you see massive brawls happening at middle schools, where kids punch their own teachers. This is why children are indoctrinated into the cult of trans, coached and groomed to say their pronouns, to switch genders, to explore various âsexualitiesâ and âidentities.â This is why mothers pimp out their own children as âdrag kidsâ and put little boys in princess dresses and post the photos on Instagram while thousands of likes wash over them. This is what abdicating the parenting throne looks like. Childless weirdos have taken over every institution we look to for guidance on how to raise good citizens, and no, Iâm not talking about Catholic priests. It has become only too clear what this absence of parental authority has wrought. Truly insane people have taken over the American education system, Big Pharma, and Big Tech. They know the best way to reach the Final Solution of the American family is to focus on young, impressionable minds. We are enjoying the fruits of their labor now: an explosion of teen depression and suicide, an epidemic of children who are confused if theyâre boys or girls, and an incredible 40 percent of Gen Z reporting that they are some letter in the ever-expanding alphabet soup known as LGBTQ+. Everywhere, in every way, the fertile, fallow minds of children are being terraformed by people who identify as âfur babyâ parents. I wouldnât let fur baby parents walk my dog, let alone educate my eight-year-old. Authority Atrophied This is why you must exercise your parental authority early and often. You must speak up! âNo, I donât want you to ask my teenage son if heâs comfortable with his gender during his doctor visit.â âNo, you canât wear your sisterâs Elsa dress to school today, because boys donât wear dresses, now get in the car and never ask me that again.â âNo, you canât buy those shorts that display the entire lower half of your rear end.â âNo, you canât have a TikTok account, and if I find it on your phone, say goodbye to the phone.â Parental authority makes you the heavy in the house and the bouncer at the door. Pull on your big boy pants and lay down the law, or the law is going to lay down all over you. 2023.06.08 09:57 Reality_Parking What caused my eczema to flare?
Wondering what caused my contact dermatitis/eczema rash/rosacea and not knowing exactly what it was keeps me up at nightâŚ.
It looks like an allergy patch test wonât be possible for me until 4 months from now (according to otherâs experiences with the healthcare provider I have - and as Iâve been left on read by my doctoreferral to a dermatologist).
My Brain: Was it the flowers I dissembled - did I unknowingly scratch my face which caused my cheeks to flare and bubble up? Was it the nail strengthener I used (and scratched my face)? Was it my concealer - but that concealer hasnât given me any issues within the past 3 years? Was it the scented beads I used for laundryâŚit couldnât have been, I washed my sheets on Friday and my reaction was on the following Tuesday? Was it the new drink I hadâŚbut contact dermatitis doesnât work like that? I took a walk the day I flared up, was it the sun? The grass/wind? Did I have contact dermatitis? Did I have rosacea?
Luckily I was able to clear it up on my own (took 2 whole week) - but now Iâve turned into a germaphobe and have trust issues with going outside and putting makeup on.
All of these thoughts haha. I have a big concert and family event this weekend, I might just have to suck it up and slowly introduce makeup products 1 by 1 :( and see if there are any reactions. Really wish I could get an allergy test to confirm : if I have contact dermatitis and what my triggers are.

2023.06.08 09:56 tony787720 Worried about my appearance..
So apparently, Ive had T2N all my life but it just only recently finally blew up (âofficially awakenedâ, according to the diagnosis) this past January when I got the results from my doc after I noticed something very wrong since three months before in October 2022, when I started falling asleep too much during my job as an uber eats driver (eventually had to quit).
Im 40. All my life since before that and even up until February of this year I was very physically active. I did cardio for about 1-2 hours a day 5 days a week. I then started going back to lifting weights.
But with weights, no matter how much I lifted, I would never see any progress.
My whole life Iâve been a massive mercilessy accursed HARD-GAINER. Wether I was at the gym half an hour 5 days a week, 1 hour M-F, 2hrs M-F, 2hrs every other day, 1hr every other day, sticking to a routine, changing up the routine so as to confuse the muscles and therefore build more mass quicker as a result, doing single excercises, doing compound excercises, doing resistance training, doing negatives, doing supersets, focusing on certain parts on different days, doing full-body every other day, wether I ate six times a day mostly meats and eggs and proteins galore with fruits and veggies and nuts and shakes, wether I added supplements to them, wether I took a gallon of creatine daily or just two scoops into my shake after every workout (before post-workout atrophy starts to happen), wether I took pre-workout shakes/drinks or not, wether I withheld from fapping before the gym, wether I slept 7,8,9,10 hours that night or the night before, wether I went during the morning, afternoon or night- on my BEST DAY I would just barely make a difference that barely nobody would ever notice anyway, and it would go away in a heartbeat if I ever stopped lifting for five minutes. Its BAZONKERS people- all that work, and NOTHING to show for it to this day.
Except now the opposite has happened. I have no energy at all to do anything (hell I can barely stay awake as I type this). Cant focus, cant think straight. Even seemingly mundane things like drivig to the grocery store ten minutes away is a daunting task now that worries everyone in my fam to death if I ever would try to do it.
I sleep most of the day. In a 24-hr span, Im awake for about six-seven. I only eat once a day bc of my shitty for life now Keto diet I have to strictly follow so I cant eat 90% of everything so I barely eat and its once/twice a day and its small meals so I dont pass out shortly after. Therefore, I dont eat 6 times a day- nowhere near that. I also had to completely stop working out.
Today, I see myself in the mirror and notice that now that the nightmares and sleep paralysis have progressed, Ive become rail thin. Like, my arms are scary-looking with how thin and bony they are now- they look like those of a 9-year-old boy. Im embarassed to be seen in public. Im paler now, and the Dark Circles under my eyes have grown inmensely darker. I feel like I can charge cars to park in those giant suckers but thats for another story.
So I look like a sickly malnourished skeleton now. Its scary-looking how bad Ive gotten, but gym is the LAST thing I can do nowadays- believe me! I havent gone since Feb when I just had to stop bc I couldnt take it anymore.
So, is rail-thin, bony, extraterrestrial-looking âbodyâ normal for people with Severe T2N to get? I look like a sickly shivering starving animal from one of those Sarah McLaughlin commercials with the song playing and everything.
So is this (âfairly newâ?) appearance normal for people with N to display? Remember that mineâs severe t2. Severe.
Thanks!
