2023.04.02 07:59 PHFreitas25 Help me find an old youtube video of monster hunter freedom unite.

The video I'm looking for is quite old, although I'm not exactly sure when it was posted. It featured a compilation of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite gameplay, set to what I believe was Japanese music. From what I recall, the video was intended as a tribute to the game before everyone moved on to the next generation with Monster Hunter Tri. Additionally, I have a vague memory of the word "carnival" being mentioned somewhere in the title or description.
I've been searching for this video for several years now, and it holds a special place in my heart. It's particularly meaningful to me because I used to watch it with my cousin when we were young and played Monster Hunter together on the PSP. It was a big part of our childhood, and I have many cherished memories associated with it. Thank you very much for the help.

2023.04.02 07:57 AdmiralStickyLegs Some Tips following Sinus Surgery with Dissolvable Packing

Hi y'all
I am 2 weeks post turbinate-reduction+septoplasty and wanted to share some helpful tips I've discovered for the recovery period pertaining to the sinus rinsing. Now I had my surgery though the public system and saw my surgeon for a total of 30 seconds before and after the surgery, so I was very lost at what I was supposed to do. And the stuff I could find online wasn't very straightforward either, especially concerning dissolvable packing, so hopefully this is of help to someone.
Tip one would be to start using the saline spray the day after the surgery. The dissolvable packing needs moisture to breakdown, so you want to get that started as quickly (but gently!) as possible. I didn't do this, instead waiting for three days, and my nose felt like it was full of glue and it was very hard to get my nasal passages to open up.
Tip two would be a technique I call reverse-gargling. Once your nostrils have opened up enough that you can actually use a sinus rinse, you may find it hard to shift the mixture of packing and bloodclots. Water goes in clear, comes out slightly bloody, but your nose still feels really congested. You might be tempted to want to blow it hard to clear it out, but afraid that might pop a stitch. This will help with that. It's a gentle but quite effective technique.
(This is best done at a bathroom sink infront of a mirror. ) You start with a netipot or sinus rinse bottle (with the tube removed). You hold the nozzle to your nostril, and tilt your head so your ears are facing to the ceiling/floor. You squeeze a small amount of water up, just enough to the point that it starts to come out the other side of your nose or down your throat. Then in one quick motion, you remove the sinus rinse bottle, return your head to it's normal position, and breathe in through your nose just fast enough that the water in your sinsus can't run out. You should feel the rumble as the water percolates around the nasal cavity. When you stop breathing in, it should trickle out, taking a decent portion of the old dried blood with it.
Lastly is more of a product recommendation. They recommend you should do multiple sinus rinses a day, using preboiled water, every few hours. That was a big pita for me. Either I boil a bunch of water at the start of the day, transfer it to a container to keep sterile, and then heat up small quantities when I need to use it, or I boil it every time and wait half an hour for it to cool down. Not something I really have the patience for.
That's where this came in handy:
https://www.amazon.com.au/Healthy-Choice-Electric-Digital-Infusedp/B07Z47J4YJ (Google "Healthy choice electric 800w digital glass kettle" in case the link gets moved)
Now I've linked one from amazon, but these things are from China and just get rebadged and resold as different brands on ebay and other sites. I bought mine for less than $50. It has been very useful for making up sinus rinses as it has a 'keep warm' type function. So you can fill it up, set it to 40c (104f), and it will first boil the water and then let it cool until it gets to the set temperature, and then it will keep it there for up to 12 hours
I thought it would use a lot of energy to keep water warm like that, but over 6 hours it used less than 0.2kwh, half of which was consumed just in the boiling. Works out to less than 20 cents a day (ambiant temps here are 20c. If your house is very cold it might cost more)

2023.04.02 07:56 Awkward_Shape_9511 R13 build: custom watercooling + gigabyte 4090

R13 build: custom watercooling + gigabyte 4090
Hey friends,
Just wanted to share a project i been working on for the past few months. Originally, i wanted to build a computer but decided to buy a R13 instead. I bought the R13 because it had the best looking chassis (imo). The chassis doesnt look like every other cookie cutter case out there. I like the clean windowless look. and secondly, growing up, we were poor and i have always wanted an "alienware." Now that i am in a position to purchase one, why not.
I knew there would be tons of limitations before i bought one, but i really dont care. I started out with a 12700kf, 3060ti, 16gb ram and a 750w psu. I knew everything was going to be replaced anyways.
My first upgrade was a launch-day 7900xtx. it was honestly a huge disappointment for a "top tier" card. horrible coil whine, and GPU runs at 110c (known issue with 7900xtx defective cooler).

Powercolor 7900xtx

After a while, i finally got my hands on a RTX 4090. the 4090 is huge...REALLY huge. I knew this wouldnt fit so it sat on my desk as a paper weight for a couple months until i finished my build:

https://preview.redd.it/yzzi1vymhera1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=056f12838f9f843f84996f30019f1372fde7a378
while the 4090 does "fit" into the R13 chassis, you cant actually plug it in to the PCI-e slot because it is too thiccc (with 3 C's).

the other issue the R13 will run into are long cards. this is because the card will interfere with the 10pin motherboard connector from the PSU
So there are only a few ways to get the 4090 in a r13:
  1. buy a 4090 FE
  2. buy a dell 4090 from the R15
  3. put it on water (the option i chose)

I also decided to upgrade the PSU from 750w to 1000w. I did this because i will be running an additional NINE phanteks T30 fans and two D5 xylem pumps. I also wanted extra 12v overhead.
I re-pinned the PCI-e power cables to the 12vhpwr cables. so the PSU now has native 12vhpwr support. I also hate using adaptors and the clutter of the factory cables. in addition, the new cables are 16awg wires and no the factory 18awg. You can check my post about the PSU here:
R13 PSU: 750w, 1000w and 1350

The radiator i will be running is a MO-RA 360. It is essentially a 1080 radiator (3x360mm) and it is a beast. paird with 9x phanteks T30 fans (the current king of120mm fans).
I had to make some custom mounting solutions to run the 2 D5 pumps, so i made them out of some corner aluminum pieces.

https://preview.redd.it/xraanvs5kera1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e65dc6b2a96514fb7d0531295b94d8c2b495254b

When mounting the fans was an issue. Due to the very tight tolerances of the 3x3 fan array, i had to completly cut off these connectors and solder the wires directly inorder to make them more low profile (to fit).
https://preview.redd.it/brf7ke48kera1.jpg?width=2100&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f5d9b4c0ad51a858321acdb243997c9843c7301

Mount the two pumps in the rear

https://preview.redd.it/ulxx44yukera1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b476fa30b2a6826662e095a061dda0792763200

Here is where i screwed up. That lower pump housing is from freezemod. Its made of aluminum, including the area where the water comes in contact with the housing. you dont want to mix aluminum and copper in your system because it will cause galvanic corrosion. i totally forgot about this when ordering the housing. I later swtiched to an Alphacool housing.

Since this will be an external watercooling system (because you know we have SOO much room in the case /S), I will be using quick disconnects between the radiator and the computer. Surprisingly, these borrow ones are very good. no leaks, and can disconnect the water with just a few drops loss:

https://preview.redd.it/u3f3ol4klera1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8c8c043fba3541d3b0e91ffb6f166e42c3a7957b

I also did a few thermal upgrades.
The first one was to put thermal pads between the motherboard and the back of the case. I put thermal pads in the VRM, PCI-e chipset, and M.2. This will use the chassis to passively cool the "hot zones." of the motherboard.

https://preview.redd.it/mkejg2a6mera1.jpg?width=1576&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=275f21db6a344cfba2cd4a949471a356f9b495bf
I also upgrade the tiny heatsink on the PCI-E chipset controller. the little heatsink is probably "barely" good enough but i am already knees deep in this, so why not.

(there is insulation tape under the heatsink as well as thermal pads. i used a 0.5mm thermal pad for the chipset.
I also changed out the 1.0mm thermal pads on the two motherboard VRM heatsinks to 0.5mm.
So its time to install the watercooling. I am using a watercooling.de PCI pass through since the 4090 with a waterblock is a 2 slot card (its actually a 1.5 slot card size).

PCI pass through under the 4090.
the biggest fitmet issue you will run into with a waterblock is that the waterblock is very and the IN/OUT water-ports sick out past the side of the case. this means you cannot close the side panel.
https://preview.redd.it/78w03rl2nera1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d3a92f168e5f2522c03c0fc867ef8011deee153
no worries, Dremel to the rescue. remember, measure twice, cut once.

RIP warranty of a 4 month old system.
I am using a Optimus Signature v2 waterblock. This is the best waterblock money can buy. It is machined entirely out of brass as a mono block, weights 3.25lbs by itself... its beautiful. i also waited 8-9 weeks just to get it.

https://preview.redd.it/8pkg0kz7oera1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d64f9b6fbaa4be554e6b9b030954e528b7b65954

Sleeved all cables. Looks better while improving air flow.
https://preview.redd.it/pqnaxy0hnera1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43d61ef4e4d0bd14359ed9cdfd666ca90b8296e6

https://preview.redd.it/l1fh9aqknera1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e57da88ebc5c91615438d9c9306bc1287e7563b
Bleeding the system is very easy on my setup. i just disconnect one of the quick disconnect and connect it to two tubes. one tube sucks fresh distilled water in, while one tube discharges the old water in the system. My system holds about .75gal of water (almost 3 liters, which is a LOT of a water cooling system). This is pretty much like a blood transfusion...but for a watercooling system.
I did also add small touches to the watercooling system. its the small things in life that matter:

https://preview.redd.it/893z4y9apera1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=37c3e26b7ba6f6b61950c05fd6aec72eeb16dbd3

https://preview.redd.it/lq3trnbbpera1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea945794f807b790de39cce76567463d315c01b0

Now for the moment you have been waiting for, the money shot(s):

https://preview.redd.it/6gjphtv4pera1.jpg?width=3021&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=200d3195bb9e7f750f88a664edd0b582ba2f913f

On a side note: you will notice that i added a small 20mm ugly noctua fan there. The issue you run into when taking out your factory 120mm AIO is that the motherboard will detect a PUMP FAILURE. its the same warning you get at boot when you upgrade to fans that are not 4300RPM (aka noctuaA12 fans). luckly, this 20mm noctula pwm fan spins to 5000rpm. so it is plugged in so it wont trip the motherboard fan fault warning.
It also helps cool the PCI-E chipset and is completely silent.

all put together with a Dell 34\" OLED monitor.

and ofcourse, a night shot:

System Specs:
  • i7 12700KF
  • gigabyte 4090 OC gaming
  • 64gb DDR5 corsair
  • 2TB samsung 990 Pro M.2
  • 1000W PSU

EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell stated that Russia's election as the head of the UN Security Council is fitting for April Fool's Day on April 1st.The European diplomat emphasized that despite Russia being a permanent member of the Security Council, it constantly violates the essence of the legal framework of the United Nations.
"Russia, which currently holds the presidency of the UN Security Council, is suitable for April Fool's Day," he wrote on Twitter.
This role is assumed by 12 of the 15 members of the UN Security Council.
On April 1, 2023, Russia is scheduled to assume the presidency of the United Nations Security Council.
Ukraine has initiated the process of excluding Russia from permanent membership in the UN Security Council with veto power and from the organization as a whole, according to Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
The White House has stated that Russia has no place in the UN Security Council, as it will use its chairmanship to spread disinformation and justify war crimes.

Looking to take my little ones out to Taylor Bay for a beach day in a few weeks. Just reading recent trip advisor reports and online posts/reviews about some aggressive dogs owned by someone with a property there roaming the beach and multiple reports of dog attacks/bites.
Just wondering if anyone’s been there recently or has seen these dogs? Not looking to spend on a clinic visit or shots this vacation.

2023.04.02 07:54 Afraid_Writer8322 I truly hate my mother and I hope she dies.

I'm a young adult that takes care of basically everything around my house when it comes to finances. Due to circumstances I'd rather not discuss, I have to take care of bills and keeping my two younger siblings on the right path. My mother has always been a spoiled and egotistical person. Growing up, she never showed me much love and physically/emotionally abused my siblings and I.
I've been beaten from ages probably 5? to 16 years old with a plethora of things including but not limited to: fists, stomping, USB cables, plastic hangers, belts, tree branches among other things. I was beaten so badly one time in our garage that my mother had to put makeup on my face because I was bruised in a few areas. She had told me not to tell anyone at the party what happened or I would get beat again. My other siblings were also beaten but less frequently and I'd often cover their bodies with mine to protect them from the brunt of it.
In addition to this, mostly (I) have suffered verbal abuse of her calling me fat, stupid, lazy, a leech, and overall nasty things. Sometimes, this would be accompanied by her spitting directly into my face.
My father has also been ill for sometime and even though they are married, I have found my mother lying about her location on numerous occasions. My father is heavily incapacitated mentally and also partially paraplegic. I also have it on good information that she has been seeing a doctor that she has been visiting her whole life in a romantic/dating manner. It really breaks my heart to see this because my father was and still is such a kind, wonderful, and caring father.
In addition to all of this, she has never worked a day in her life. My father was the sole breadwinner for a very long time and provided her with luxuries most people could only dream of. I mean diamond rings and earrings upwards of $15K, multiple vacations a year, multiple luxury vehicles that start at $100K USD, and very beautiful homes with extremely expensive décor such as chandeliers, tapestries, etc.
All of this was never good enough for her. She would constantly berate my father and talk about how hard her life is when all she did for us growing up was basically clean the house and feed us (usually meals paid for by my father from an allowance she very rarely cooks). My father would very often come home after a hard day of work to not even be greeted. My mother would sit in bed acting like she had an insanely hard day and wait for him to come say hello to her every time. When my father would purchase clothes he liked, she would instantly put him down by saying he looked fat in said clothing article or that it wasn't stylish. She would also give him horribly dirty/disgusted looks when he was eating. The worst offender to my father and siblings was when my parents had gotten into a really serious argument and she texted the family group chat that she swallowed all of her medications and was going to kill herself. This led to an insanely stupid situation at my house where both my siblings were in tears and my father was panicking trying to figure out if she actually took them so he could call 911. In the end, she admitted she never took any of them and had just flushed them down the toilet.
She is always going on about how fat, ugly, stupid, etc. people are. She loves to judge people even though she is pretty ugly herself.
She has never been a help at all when it comes to taking care of insurance issues, finance issues, and business issues that have stemmed from my fathers decline in health. For years I've completely kept everything afloat and made everyone happy. I do my best to provide a fair life for my siblings because the amount of stress they've had to go through breaks my heart and I don't want to see them suffer anymore stress that I can handle for them.

She is very greedy and status obsessed even though she has never earned a dime in her entire life. She constantly talks about luxury cars she hasn't owned yet and other stupid shit that is just extremely vapid. She has no regard for the future of her children and claims that we are on "life support" because we live with her even though she contributes a total of $0 towards any bills.
She constantly bums money for gas, food, etc. from my two younger siblings and they give it to her because they are either 1.) stupid or 2.) are trying to cling to the only mentally capable parent they have left. She hardly offers to bring the children food, but if we buy food and don't offer her it's like committing a cardinal sin. She has no plans to support any of my two younger siblings college endeavors, and I will not get any support from her as she truly doesn't like me. Not that I mind, but I worry for the future of my two siblings everyday.

In addition to all of this, she is constantly screaming. I am not exaggerating when I say this screaming goes on for a minimum of 3 hours a day. It's usually bullshit about how angry she is with her life, wishes she never had kids, is going to find a new husband, or verbally assaulting whichever person messed something up that day. If my siblings mumble on accident, its a problem. If they put in a garbage bag wrong, its a problem. I keep contact with my mother to a minimum because we have argued a lot in the past and I think she's a generally trash person and I truly wish she would die.

Most people would read this and think: why not move out? The issue is my mother has a multitude of mental issues and me moving out would strip her financial support away and I fear leaving my siblings with a person like that alone.
This isn't even close to all of my thoughts but I'm honestly just really angry typing and would rather not delve into the rest of it in this post.

If anyone actually reads this whole thing please tell me: am I wrong for feeling this way? All of my relatives know at least a partial amount of the abuse we've suffered and say we (mostly I because I express my disgust with her the most) have to love her because she's my mother. She truly makes me sick to my stomach.

2023.04.02 07:48 Spiritual_Carpet1047 Analysis of the Flower MV

Ok, so this is my interpretation of the flower mv. It's nothing much, and it's just really simple, but I just wanted to share mine as well, in a single post.
This story took place in just two days.
First day - evening Second day - morning(day-time)
Flower is a love song(break-up), and flower represents both love, and also Jisoo herself. Just like how Jisoo was a flower in the jacket poster. In the MV, Jisoo is not a certain type of flower, but expresses different kinds of flowers with the various colors of the outfits. For example, the purple dress reminded me of lilac(people mostly think of purple flowers for lilac in Korea) mentioned in the song, and it's floriography is first love, or starting of love(at least in Korea).
This MV goes back and forth in time, and the easiest way to see it is the time setting(day-time/night-time). The chapter names are just about the scenes they show with the chapter names, so the MV timeline is not divided strictly by those three chapters.
The MV:
  1. Second Day Jisoo is wearing a white dress, as she touches the curtain. It seems like she just got up. She touches the flowers, and breathes it. It shows how the the theme of the song/mv, strengthens the Jisoo-flower connection, and also shows that the flower(meaning love) is not gone yet.
  2. Second Day "CHAPTER 1, Next Day" directly tells us that this scene, Jisoo in the car wearing a blue modern outfit, is the second day Jisoo.
  3. Second Day Back to the morning Jisoo in white. She doesn't show any negative emotions, until she hears a knock on the door, and a staff seems to notice her about her check out time. Jisoo then precedes to pick her outfit, and her choice seems to be the all black dress. Jisoo in the mirror, shows us her change of facial expressions, going dispirited.
  4. Second Day The song starts with she used to be "nice as ABC, Do re mi." She was not too hard to love(unlike Rosé lol). Easy and simple just like ABC and do re mi, that's how easy being her lover can be, keeping the basics.
Then this black dress Jisoo comes out to the corridor of the hotel. As a hotel staff passes by, she tilts her head, and hides her face. She doesn't want people to see her face, not because she still likes "that person", but she doesn't want to be judged by others thinking, she got stood up, or show others her unhappy face.
  1. First Day The first, first day scene. Here, she is wearing a greenish flower pattern dress. It's dark outside, and she is dancing alone in the hotel lobby, as if waiting for someone. In this scene, a cat appears, and Jisoo and the cat looks at each other, both sitting on their chairs.
The cat and Jisoo is very much alike. It's not just the mysterious, beautiful, quiet vibe, but also how she described herself. House cats stays in the house, and wait for their owner(love) to come home. They are sensitive beings, but usually not that hard to take care of them, compared to other animals. Most of them are capable of taking care of themselves, like they do not require walks or frequent bathes, and most can control their own diets. They aren't that clingy, and to be a good caregiver, you just have to do the basics, which includes caring and loving).
The other important factor in this scene, is the pearl necklace. The pearl necklace stands for love and relationship in this MV. She has the necklace on as she is waiting for that person to come, not just in the room, but in the lobby. Therefore, she is waiting and looking forward to meet her love.
  1. First Day She was waiting in the lobby, but that person did not show up. In the elevator, as she goes back to her room, there is no one beside her, but just the hotel staff in the elevator. She does not look happy.
  2. Second Day Jisoo in her own hotel room is definitely angry. The flower vase hits the floor because of her, and the flowers, representing love, falls to the ground.
  3. Second Day "CHAPTER 2, Same Time" shows that this Jisoo dancing with the other dancers, took place in the second day morning, when she is in her room, alone. It shows her emotions. The outfit is black and red. Red is the color of flowers, and it can also be the color of flames(붉게 타버려진 너와 나, you and me burnt red). So the flower, Jisoo, or love, is currently burning, and already half burnt black. The other dancers are wearing black, but red(flower, love) is covering their eyes, showing love is able to blind people's eyes.
  4. "CHAPTER 3, Same Place" This is neither the first day or the second day. Jisoo is wearing a turquoise dress, and looking inside a yellow shop. Inside, it shows the pearl necklace, and she is looking at the necklace with a serious face. This scene is trying to show us, that the necklace has a certain significance in this MV. "Same Place" indicates that is the same place where she got the pearl necklace, which is likely a present given to her by her lover.
  5. Second Day The MV once again shows us the black Jisoo, who is ready to leave the hotel. The reflection in the mirror, says, "I'm fine, will you be fine?" This can be a thing said to herself, and to the person she was waiting for as well. Behind her, we can see the staffs moving her clothes, as if helping her pack her things.
  6. First Day Dancing Jisoo wearing a cyan outfit. It's night-time, so it's still the first day. Her makeup and style doesn't look docile at all, so this is an angry, upset Jisoo who got stood up. However, the outfit still has color, the love wasn't gone at this point, and she is mad because of love.
  7. First Day She is on her way to her hotel room. In the corridor, she gets rid of her pearl necklace, tearing it apart. She is very angry and highly disappointed, as she had high expectations. The pearl necklace is foreshadowing the end of the relationship, but things can change.
  8. First Day Pink Jisoo and the impressive hand-flower choreography. The flower disappears into the air after nodding twice, as if foreshadowing the flower(love) is about to be gone.
  9. Second Day The same Jisoo from "CHAPTER 1, Next Day" appears again. She is in a good mood, no regrets left at all, after leaving the hotel. Unlike the black dress she was wearing when she was leaving her room, after leaving the hotel, she is now wearing a colorful outfit again, which even has a big heart in the front. Although the flower(love) she used to be was burnt to ashes(black dress), she still is the colorful Jisoo she used to be. This shows that she wasn't affected by the break-up negatively. In fact, this outfit not only has color, but is very modern as well, unlike most other outfits in this mv, that were classically beautiful. Her expression almost seems mischievous, and with her new modern style outfit, it shows that she now has become a person with confidence and control, instead of the "classical" person that used to wait.
  10. Second Day(Final Scene) This is the Jisoo, just before leaving the hotel. The love that has been burnt to ashes, and the black dress that represents it. Even the necklace is black, but unlike the scene with the pearl necklace, she takes it off easily, as if it's nothing significant. It seems like she is just dusting the remaining ashes off, and as she was leaving the hotel, even the other remaining ashes must have fell down, revealing the colorful Jisoo again.
Timeline First day, she was waiting for her lover. However, that person never showed up, and she goes back to her room. On the way back to her room, Jisoo, feeling disappointed and mad, tears her pearl necklace apart. At night, she was very angry, but in the next day, she has calmed down over the night. She is still willing to give that person a second chance. The love is not totally gone, but unlike the night before, when she was mad because of 'love', she was able to step back and review the relationship rationally. Unfortunately, even in the next day, the person did not show up, and missed the last chance Jisoo was trying to give(잡지 않은 거는 너니까, The one who didn't try to hold on/catch me was you). She was again disappointed, and left the hotel, wearing a black dress. However, Jisoo outside the hotel is not the one burnt to ashes, but a colorful, confident Jisoo.
Lyrics: I have also metioned this in the megathread, but the line "꽃향기만 남기고 갔단다(I only left the scent of the flower behind)" reminded me of this song called "우리 집에 왜 왔니(why did you come to my house)". This is a children's game and also a traditional children's song. This game is also called "꽃 찾기 놀이(Game of finding the flower)", which goes perfectly with the song, Flower.
우리 집에 왜 왔니 왜 왔니 왜 왔니 Why did you come to my house 꽃 찾으러 왔단다 왔단다 왔단다 I came to find flowers 무슨 꽃을 찾으러 왔느냐 왔느냐 What kind of flower are you looking for here [ ]꽃을 찾으러 왔단다 I came to find the [ ] flower. 가위 바위 보 Rock paper scissors !
The original lyric of this children's song, suggests that "the person" might have tried to go back to her to find the flower(Love, Jisoo) afterwards. But, this person missed their last chance, and the closest thing they were able to find was just the scent she left behind.
This song has a great connection to the b-side, All Eyes On Me as well. In AEOM, Jisoo tells the listener, "넌 나만 바라봐, 그게 당연한 거야, 욕심이 아니잖아".(You should only look at me, that should be a given, it's not greed.) meaning it's one of the basics. She tells them her eyes are looking at them, so they should not look away as well, and says, "한순간 눈 깜빡할 사이 사라질지 몰라"(I might disappear in a single moment, in the blink of an eye), which is clearly a warning.
However, in the Flower MV, that person made her disappointed, as their eyes were not on Jisoo. They missed the last chance too, by not showing up the next day either. Unable to find her except for the scents(traces) she left behind, was an expected ending, as that person clearly didn't take her warning seriously.
(+ Jisoo was known for resembling the Chinese actress Tang Wei, when she debuted in Korea. There still are people talking about how they have similar features. When I was watching this music video, it reminded me of the movie, 헤어질 결심(2022), Decision to Leave. It stars Tang Wei, and the vibe of the Flower mv(hk film vibes from some scenes, toned down mv, and the mysterious, quiet, mostly unhappy female lead) reminded me of that movie. I think both the Korean title(Resolution to Break Up) and the English title of this movie(Decision to Leave) could also be a good match with this mv.)

2023.04.02 07:46 buffering001 Using GLFW library in a CUDA program

I am trying to execute the following code(sample_code.cu) on vscode -
#include  #include  #include "./include/GLFW/glfw3.h" #define WINDOW_WIDTH 800 #define WINDOW_HEIGHT 600 // CUDA kernel to fill the RGB buffer with values __global__ void fillRGB(unsigned char *rgb) { int idx = blockIdx.x * blockDim.x + threadIdx.x; int offset = idx * 3; rgb[offset] = idx % 255; // R value rgb[offset + 1] = (idx * 3) % 255; // G value rgb[offset + 2] = (idx * 7) % 255; // B value } int main(int argc, char **argv) { GLFWwindow* window; // Initialize GLFW if (!glfwInit()) { fprintf(stderr, "Failed to initialize GLFW\n"); return -1; } // Create a windowed mode window and its OpenGL context window = glfwCreateWindow(WINDOW_WIDTH, WINDOW_HEIGHT, "Custom RGB Window", NULL, NULL); if (!window) { fprintf(stderr, "Failed to create GLFW window\n"); glfwTerminate(); return -1; } // Make the window's context current glfwMakeContextCurrent(window); // Allocate memory for RGB buffer on device unsigned char *dev_rgb; cudaMalloc((void**)&dev_rgb, WINDOW_WIDTH * WINDOW_HEIGHT * 3 * sizeof(unsigned char)); // Fill RGB buffer with values using kernel int threadsPerBlock = 256; int blocksPerGrid = (WINDOW_WIDTH * WINDOW_HEIGHT + threadsPerBlock - 1) / threadsPerBlock; fillRGB<<>>(dev_rgb); // Allocate memory for RGB buffer on host unsigned char *host_rgb = new unsigned char[WINDOW_WIDTH * WINDOW_HEIGHT * 3]; // Copy RGB buffer from device to host cudaMemcpy(host_rgb, dev_rgb, WINDOW_WIDTH * WINDOW_HEIGHT * 3 * sizeof(unsigned char), cudaMemcpyDeviceToHost); // Loop until the user closes the window while (!glfwWindowShouldClose(window)) { // Render RGB buffer to window glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT); glDrawPixels(WINDOW_WIDTH, WINDOW_HEIGHT, GL_RGB, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, host_rgb); glfwSwapBuffers(window); glfwPollEvents(); } // Clean up GLFW glfwTerminate(); // Clean up memory cudaFree(dev_rgb); delete[] host_rgb; return 0; }

I am very new with GLFW and cant say I understand everything in the code , but my aim is to execute a program which uses both the CUDA and GLFW library.

Note- I am able to run independant GLFW sample codes using g++ compiler but I am facing a variety of errors when I am trying to do the same with the nvcc compiler

My project structure looks like this -

include (all the include files from the glfw-3.3.8.bin.WIN64 folder) lib-mingw-w64 (all the files in the lib -mingw-w64 folder) lib-vc2019 (all the files in the lib-vc2019 folder) glfw3.dll sample_code.cu

And to compile this file in the integrated terminal I am writing -

nvcc -Llib-vc2019 sample_code.cu -o sample_code -lglfw3 -lopengl32 -lgdi32

As I said I am able to compile and execute g++ compiled code so I think the native GLFW libraries are set correctly , but when I execute the above command I get errors like -

2023.04.02 07:44 emreddit0r Summary on SD Training, Machine Learning, Copyright, Web scraping

Machine Learning

Machine Learning is a field of inquiry devoted to understanding and building methods that "learn" – that is, methods that leverage data to improve performance on some set of tasks.

Data Mining

Data mining is the process of extracting and discovering patterns in large data sets involving methods at the intersection of machine learning, statistics, and database systems.

Copyright

A copyright is a type of intellectual property that gives its owner the exclusive right to copy, distribute, adapt, display, and perform a creative work, usually for a limited time.

Fair Use

Fair use is a doctrine in United States law that permits limited use of copyrighted material without having to first acquire permission from the copyright holder. Each case of fair use uniquely evaluates the following factors
1.the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;
2.the nature of the copyrighted work;
3.the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and4.
  1. the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.

Data Mining / Machine Learning vs Fair Use

Some believe the extraction of data patterns from copyrighted art will be defensible by fair use given it's transformative and novel nature of it's outputs, others disagree.

The Story So Far

CommonCrawl is a research community effort that scrapes the web in a similar manner as Google-Bot or Bing-Bot. It periodically crawls the web, scrapes domains where it is permitted by a 'robots.txt' file and saves webdata into an archival format.
The largest image dataset, LAION-5B, a list of 5 billion urls, was created by parsing the CommonCrawl project. The image urls link to a large number of copyrighted materials. No one has bothered to quantify the amount of copyrighted materials within this dataset.
LAION5B is just a list of URLs, when images are downloaded a copy is made. Whether or not it's permissible to use this copy for Machine Learning under Fair Use is to be determined. No one yet knows the answer to this question.
StabilityAI (and likely Midjourney as well) downloaded images using the LAION5B dataset and used the images to perform data mining and create their softwares with machine learning techniques.
Beyond the raw set of scraping all 5B images, SD performed watermark filtering, punsafe filtering, and aesthetic filtering. To get a sense of that you have to read through the modelcard files:

Where to Learn More

About scraping
https://moz.com/learn/seo/robotstxt
https://www.termsfeed.com/blog/web-scraping-laws/

Many platforms were scraped in the creation of LAION. This happened often where the website's Terms of Use directly state that web scraping is a violation, however there is ambiguity for some reason unclear to me. There is a belief that law abiding robots only need to respect robots.txt (as well as captchas and the like that demand a human user). Additionally, the code used to parse the images only checks for robots in the hosting domain and not urls that are deeplinked from one site to another site.

What's in LAION anyways?

http://laion-aesthetic.datasette.io/ -- a SQL search engine of the top 12 million ranked images
https://haveibeentrained.com/ -- a CLIP embedding (image recognition based) based search of all 5b images
https://rom1504.github.io/clip-retrieval/ -- LAION's CLIP embedding search

GPDR Requests

LAION is required to respond to GPDR requests - the page is here https://laion.ai/privacy-policy/ However they made SAMPLE_ID required, which means one would have to pull all of LAION and find the offending entries. If you are motivated I suggest to do so, but it's not without effort. Maybe someone will provide a better method of search in the future.

That's Pretty Much It

If you want to be active in this space, there's not much to be gained from arguing with defendants or proponents. Use the conversations to sharpen your thoughts. More importantly, do something. Contribute to researching the dataset black box, find something more to add to the story, file a lawsuit, talk to government, talk to your community, get active.
If you like ML, you think all of this is fine, and you can find yourself in the dataset you can Opt-In at https://haveibeentrained.com/ . Maybe even consider releasing your work as CC0.
If you don't like ML, your work is in the dataset, consider looking into legal action or using Opt-Out on https://haveibeentrained.com/. You can try using Glaze to protect your work, but there is still much debate to it's efficacy and ease of removal. https://glaze.cs.uchicago.edu/ You could also try just watermarking the shit out of it.

But What about all the Technical Training Stuff?

Does it really matter that diffusion models work a particular way? That images aren't stored only analyzed?
Regardless of technique the following statement will hold true: "Some believe the extraction of data patterns from copyrighted art will be defensible by fair use given it's transformative and novel nature, others disagree."
Splitting hairs on "learning" and how training works won't really resolve anything, just help you broaden your understanding of the process. The underlying issues of whether you believe public scraping protected works for ML training will remain regardless of the technique employed.
