I have Someone in my life who is older than me and has more money than me that has probably sent me about $5,000 in the past 6 months. I have never asked him for money, nor have I solicited sexual favors for money. We text and I have gone to dinner with him 3 times. He just sends me money. Recently, he asked me to get drinks, and I said no, as I was busy. He retaliated by requesting me $7,000 via venmo and sending me text after text about how I am a “user” and a “scammer”. I did not answer his texts. He sent me one just now saying he was going to sue me since I won’t “repay him”. Does he have any legal grounds? Again- I want to reiterate that I have NEVER asked him for money nor have I solicited sexual favors. I have all of our texts saved to back me up. I can not afford to pay him $7,000. If he gave me money of his own accord, can he sue me for not reimbursing him? Thank you in advance.

As the title says, I would greatly appreciate any input on whether my expectations are realistic or not.
I bought my house ~10 years ago. Autumn through early spring are great: almost no bug issues. But as soon as late spring rolls around, it's miserable until the end of the summer. I keep having to deal with cockroaches.
It varies. In a "good" week, I may see 3. But in a "bad" week, it could be 6 or 7. It can be any room in the house: kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, dining room, living room, etc. I'm posting now because I'm really frustrated. Had a medium-sized roach in my bedroom just now, then went downstairs and there was a huge roach in the dining room.
To be clear: I try to keep the place as neat as possible. I don't leave food laying around. I vacuum regularly. I also have a pest control service. They come out every quarter and spray. I've tried calling them about this over the years but the answer is the same every single time: "It's impossible to keep all bugs out."
I totally get that. I understand that pest control can't stop nature. But I have to ask: is having less roaches (between 3 and 7 medium to large-sized ones a week) an unrealistic expectation? Because I recently started asking friends about this and nobody has this problem - except the one friend who doesn't have a professional pest control service.
Are my expectations unrealistic? Or is it too much and I should demand more from my pest control company? Or is it worth calling another pest control company over?

I have a dog that is about two years old now, I have had her since she was a puppy, 8 weeks old. She is a mix between a mother that was half Lhasa-Apso/Cocker spaniel and a father that was 100% catahoula. This dog was trained from a puppy to deal with living in an apartment in a busy city. She was crate trained, potty trained (easier to do with crate training), trained how to safely eat from a human's hand, trained in voice, word, and deed how to deal with things in her environment from a very young age. She will never chew on anything that is not "hers" (toys) and you don't even need to worry about leaving a plate of human food around within her reach unattended (she won't touch it unless you tell her "ok" or "yes). Her name is Emma.
Myself, my SO, and Emma lived happily in that apartment for about 9 months, when we were given an opportunity to move to the "country", the outskirts of the city we live in, onto a 22 acre plot of land with a 2 acre "dogproof (fencing)" yard, to caretake a property while its owners were away for the next 5 years to take care of business interests in another country. The property includes a 3 bedroom house, a 2 bedroom with laundry room adjoining converted two car garage and additional storage room, a huge metal double-deep 4 (8?) car garage...a chicken yard, pond, cattle watering troughs...beautiful place. I met the owners years ago while doing computer work for them and their business and they trusted me and my partners to watch over this particular property while they carried out their hobby of traveling abroad and working on their businesses.
We moved in when Emma was 9 months old.
Immediately we could tell that there was something special about her. My partner and I are no strangers to owning and caring for dogs throughout the course of our lives....and for the first time, our beautiful puppy had a huge yard to wander around in, chickens to gawk at and eventually herd, and cattle all around the outside of the fenced-in yard around the house 2 acre fenced in yard for her to bark at...which she quit doing, after a week or so when she got used to them. There was an above-ground garden that we had to maintain, which attracted lots of frogs and lizards. Emma quickly learned that frogs and lizards were ok. She wouldn't attack them. But rabbits, gophers, and anything else was fair game. As we lived there, over the course of the winter Emma would defend the garden against the varmints, and we always worried about what would happen in the late spring/early summer, when the rattlesnakes would emerge from their hibernation.
We found out.
And, we found out just how instinctually smart our dog is.
As me and my SO were settling in to dinner inside the house during the early evening, we heard Emma barking outside.
Long. Loud. Continuously.
Not like her to do that unless there were a strange human around. She quit barking at the cows surrounding the yard a long time ago, so I knew she wasn't barking at them. I went outside to call her into the house, as well as try to see what she was barking at. She appeared to be barking at something in the middle of the area separating the main house from the 8 car barn. The light was getting low as I was approaching her and I saw that she was dancing a very agitated circle around something that looked like a large cow pattie on the ground. I could see that she was keeping at least 4 to 6 feet away from the object, barking like crazy, almost desperately. As I got closer, she all of a sudden ran towards me and put herself against my shins, as if trying to prevent me from getting closer to the object. I was trying to see what it was, and as soon as she did that, my brain kicked into high gear and I noticed the "buzzing" sound, which was from the rattle of a young rattlesnake. I walked away from Emma to the barn and got a hoe while letting her continue to keep the snake at bay, then safely walked up to within striking distance with my weapon and with a few quick blows, rendered the snake harmless. Emma finally stopped barking after she saw the snake in pieces. She knew it was dead and no longer a threat.
As to HOW she knew it was a threat, I have no idea. We never taught her about snakes. Myself and my S.O. think it was instinct, maybe from her catahoula father. I have seen many country dogs ATTACK rattlesnakes and get bit, usually in the head/snout/throat area, and yea, most of them survive, but they are never the same mentally. I was so proud of Emma that she alerted me without damaging herself so that I could take care of the rattlesnake that could be a potential threat to her and my loved ones in the future.
Now, before I have to listen to the outraged comments from the herpetologists out there...I recognize the fact that snakes play a very significant role in the environment and contribute greatly to the elimination of unwanted pests. But there are a great wealth of snakes in the area that take up that role without being poisonous and agressive. The only snakes that I kill are the poisonous ones and only if they are within the area of the yard and house. Otherwise, I let them be.

So I was beaten by this Dr Mario player, ok fair, didn’t t-bag, spammed pills and he was super mega laggy alright ok breaks rule 7 Afterwards, at the ending of the match he spammed between the stats and the “ready for the next battle” alright i said, he was toxic but he made sure to win before celebrating, BUT, here’s the thing, I started to get friend requests, like, spammed, and it was really annoying specially since I was in another battle already, I didn’t pay attention as I was in a battle already but by the Switch’s little sound effects I’d say I got a solid 50 friend requests in a 7 min battle and after winning the match (and hey that second mf tried to time out at 2:40 minutes with both at last stock, me at 0% and that pythra of course at 140%) but going back to the friend requests, after turning off the game there was no friend request to be accepted, and it had to be that Dr Mario since he was my most recent battle, someone I fought before couldn’t have done it since they would’ve done it earlier disturbing the Dr Mario match, they weren’t different people because there was NO request to be accepted, and it couldn’t had been the Aegis after the Dr Mario since the friend request bombardment was DURING that battle.
Is this a new form of taunting I just happened to never receive until now? Defeating someone and then spamming them with friend requests to continuing being annoying or to disturb a possible future combat? However, my and my SO can host as well, as our apartment complex has a nice area for parties that has great AC, bathrooms, coffee, water, even a little kitchen.
Now that we have gotten through the backstory, let's proceed into just how they take advantage of us:
1 - We all agreed to see a movie together in theaters. I volunteered to get the seats, implying that that they would pay me back. Keep in mind, I never once said that I would pay for others' tickets, and it would be around $100+ dollars for minimum 8 tickets(we had a plus one). Never ONCE did they ask how they can pay me back. They met and my SO at the theater thanking me for buying everyone's tickets. I was caught off guard and just said sure, thinking that I would clear this up later as we were running late for the movie.

I send the receipt to the group, so there is NO excuse to just send me $20 when you can clearly see on the receipt that your food was $18 and you still owe me for your portion of the tax AND delivery on top of that.
- Today, we were offered to host game night from one of our friends. I'm sick and recovering from a foot injury, and my SO just twisted her ankle a few hours before time, so I would be sitting this one out and my SO can't drive. Nope, they can't make it to us. They have to make sure that there dog eats dinner exactly on time(she has no issues with food, they just baby her). Don't worry, they waited until we agreed on it and set up and brought everything to the game room before telling us that they would really rather do it at their place because of the dog. God FORBID they lift a finger for us!
- One of the friends does crochet. When she started her business, she just asked my SO what her favorite color was. She told her Green, not thinking literally anything of it as it wasn't followed by anything. Next week she shows up with this crocheted thing(no idea what it is, my SO doesn't use it), and told her that it would be $20. Very confused and thinking that she misheard her(because why would a friend try to take advantage of you), she paid her. Later that night, she told me that she never once agreed to buy one of her crocheted things.

 | First run as the title suggests; ~First sprouted 49 days ago (all sprouted within a week of the first) ~FF happy frog and FF ocean forest 50/50 mixed topped with happy frog a week ago ~660W Effinity light (second light stopped working so they're all sharing one) ~72-84 degrees (had a heat problem up to 90+ up till this week I bought a portable AC and it's been keeping it in the 72-84 range). ~Pineapple Express Autoflower by 420 fastbuds ~Some in 3gals some in 5 to see if I saw a difference ~general hydroponics grow, bloom and some cal mag. I gave them 1/4 dose of the recommended when they started flowering and the first true leaves started yellowing a couple weeks ago I think because my VPD was off (way too hot) they weren't able to uptake the nutrients well and started getting some nutrient burn so they've only had distilled water pH 7.0 for the past week. ~3 cups of water every 2 days. They seem to dry out completely within that time and I get some run off off all of them with 3 cups each. ~concerns: The yellowing has slowed a lot and the tips of most leaves show it but only a few have turned yellow, I cut off some of the yellow leaves the past few days so I can tell how it's progressing. I tried to show off the yellowing in a few of the pictures. ~the last two pictures of an individual plant is the only one out of the 9 to not start flowering yet. I did end up FIMing it when I topped a few so I'm not sure if it's just taking longer to recover or not. It is showing preflowering signs. ~Do I have a herm? It's my first time and I'm seeing buds but some of the pistils I believe are getting pretty big and somewhat look like balls so I need some help identifying, again I tried to take a couple close ups and good pictures where you can zoom a little to see them. ~all in all I've been learning a lot with this first run and am enjoying the ride but have a few questions and don't frequently talk to anyone with experience. I 23(F) just need some honest opinions from you guys. I have never been in a relationship. Never been approached by guys during my school/college. This was a big and I mean big source of insecurity for me all my life. And I genuinely believed I was extremely ugly and that's what is the reason behind the lack of male attention.
Whilst I have overcome my insecurities and realised I am actually not ugly or anything, I still of course couldn't handle my dismal love life. I finally tried online dating last year in October. And I was extremely validated by the barrage of attention I got from guys. My first ever online date was with a guy from Bumble and I am still attached to him. We are in an awkward situationship kind of thing. I have tried to go no contact many times. But he always comes back. And I give in each time. I genuinely don't understand why I like him because we have only seen each other twice in a span of 7 months because he is always too busy. The second time literally two weeks ago. We have only ever held hands. I am a very intense person and have attachment issues. And I had a lot of intense anxiety in relation to him. Even though the anxiety has stopped, I am still hung over up him.
I still went on date with other guys because I wanted to move on from the guy from Bumble. I had 3 more dates from Hinge this year. One of them became my first kiss. We kissed on our very first date. It was a very good first date. But on our second date we went a bit sexual which I kinda regretted and I realised we could never be compatible for various reasons. Another date probably my most compatible one was after a few days. We kissed on our first date. A day later I ended up in hospital needing emergency surgery throughout which my date was extremely nice to me and kept checking up on me though I never expected him to which made me think he was genuinely interested in me. After my recovery we met again and he told me he had commitment issues and we could see where this goes but it might not go anywhere which was true because he has pretty much ghosted me now. Though I wasn't intensely attached to him I won't lie it hurt me especially because he really made it seem like he cared a lot and I thought I could actually move on from Bumble Boy. But then kind of implied that I was too much which is just not great for someone with attachment issues. When I would have never been hurt if he ignored me while I was in the hospital. This was back in March.
I just finished college last week so I had time and installed Bumble again. I went on a date yesterday with a guy. He was quite nice. We made out. We got honest with each other. He had a bad break up and doesn't want to get attached and I told him I am hung up over a guy too. But we would both like to have some fun. Not exactly a q person, at least not that he's articulated specifically, but he believes just about everything they do. Last night during a drunken rant on inner city crime (we live in a farmhouse way out in the country and he rarely ventures into even the small nearby cities except for the occasional walmart grocery trip) he started throwing around the N word while assuring me he wasn't racist because the military taught him not to see color or something. He also started using slurs for Asians during covid.
I've spent so long trying to have calm, rational discussions with him, thinking that somewhere deep down was a good man. One who truly cared about the Christian principles he professes at the pulpit every weekend. But lately I've been thinking that maybe I just ought to believe him when he tells me who he is.
I've spent the last two years living with my parents and commuting to the closest community college, but in the fall I'll be transferring to a university and I'm planning on getting the hell out of here.
They say a person is the average of the people they spent the most time with, or something like that. My mom isn't as bad as my dad, but a lot of his nonsense has rubbed off on her, and she's expressed to me her approval of Musk and Walsh. She thinks the world hates her for being an old white woman. It's exhausting to talk to her about any of these issues.

I've dreaded ever telling this story but it's eating me alive. I 31f, have been married to my husband 34M for 6 years. We've had a good marriage but it has been rocky from the start. I love him more than anything, or at least I thought I did. In the past year, we've separated over 3 times, the last time ending in divorce. We fight all the time and there's been times where I've been scared that I'd get hurt. In the time we were separated the last time, I started to just accept it. I reached out to my ex from 7/8 years ago. He used to be my best friend until my husband made me get rid of him after we got married, because he confessed his love for me, which put my newfound marriage at risk. We were talking up until my husband and I got back together. Recently one morning I was thinking about my ex and he texted me as I was. We've been in contact ever since. He finally got me to open up in the past few weeks and I eventually told him that im not as happy as I was when I got married and I made a mistake by not leaving the last time. I also told him that I'm still in love with him, and he reciprocated. He said the next time my husband and I separated, he'd come get me and we'd start our life like we should have a long time ago. Here’s what happened on the 3 of June 2023 my mother got upset whith me so upset that she followed me into our shared bedroom in our house back in our home country (Jamaica) slammed the door and threw me against the wall an chocked me whith her bear hands my grandmother 72f opened the door saw what was going on and pushed my mother out of the way in order to protect me my mother then grabbed my hair (I have box braids in an it really hurts when someone pulls on the from the roots) at the roots and yanked on it hard I then started sobbing and bawling uncontrollably yelling “your crazy your phyco what’s wrong with you” my mother then grabbed one of her really heavy shoes and hit me across the face repeatedly while yelling at my grandmother to let me go and move when she didn’t my mother pulled us to the ground and stomped and kicked at me she did this for over 30 minutes before my step dad and uncle pulled her off my grandma then took me to her room and helped calm me down while my mother was yelling at my uncle to “let her go so she could beat me and get her passport to leave” saying “I dont fucking want that mistake of a child I’m going to leave her sorry ass here” I was a sobbing mess I had been clean if sh for around a year that night I cut my wrist more then ever.
While I was crying and cutting my mother was out drinking and partying she then came back around 4am she left around 11p and when she came back I put all my things in a bag and went to sleep under the bed so she wouldn’t see me and try to suffocate me in my sleep.
Time skip to the next day she was refusing to acknowledge my existence she ignored me all day and when she finally spoke to me she said “I leaving you you’ll be fine you have your sisters number your auntie here and your grandma you’ll be fine” (I am Severely autistic and have adhd anxiety and depression I’m also dealing with an anorexic based problem don’t want to get into)she then got all her things packed her case’s and left me I ran to my grandma crying saying that mama’s leaving me while hugging my stuffed bunny and my phone she hugged me and said that my mother is not leaving me here an that I will go back home i she then left for awhile to ask my mother what was going on but she had already left the house. While my grandma had left to find her I turned around looked in the mirror and saw 7 year old me hugging my stuffy and holding the phone in my hand crying because my mother had left me in the middle of the night while we were on holiday in France.
Skip to rn I’m currently crying in my room on my mother’s bed wondering why she felt the need to leave me here and what I’m gonna do because she took my passport

- Third day of class we had to do a partner project and i didn't know anyone in the room and despite the fact that she did she asked if i wanted to be her partner and we were partners on every group project even when it was ment to be groups of 3 just me and her were partners, when one of us was absent for the first day of a project we would start the project alone and wait for the other to come back. This could just be her taking pity of someone who had no one else to work with tho
- We didn't really talk alot at first but eventually we slowly began to talk more and more eventually to the point where we would start a conversation the moment we were both in the room and she would often complain about whatever problems she was having that day or something she was interested in like gator land in Florida or the new zelda game. When i asked her why she only really talks to me she said "because we are really the only two... interesting people in the class". She could just want someone to talk to as a friend tho
- She laughs at all my jokes even my sarcastic remarks. This could just be because i'm usually a pretty funny guy tho
- Whenever our class went on a trip to the river she stuck with me and got me to get fish rocks out of the river so she could see if there were any that she liked, she got me to do it cause i am relatively tall with relatively long arms and could reach farther plus she didn't want to get her shoes wet, but at the end when we had to head back i joked about how much it sucked that i was gonna have to walk around with wet socks for the rest of the day she offered to put her feet in the water to make it even and she did. She could have just seen this as a fun time between friends tho
- Anytime i handed her something or she handed me something he made sure to touch my hand. Probably thinking about it to much and she just keeped doing it in the past tense
- She asked me for a drink of my water bottle or other drinks relatively often and when i offer her a drink that (like a half drunk powerade or dr.pepper) she always takes it. Probably looking into this to much aswell, she probably just doesn't drink a lot during school hours
- I have given her $12 or so for snacks. This has nothing to do with her really just figured i'd mention it cause why not
- She often gives me answers for questions on worksheets and and kahoots and such. Probably just her being nice
Hopefully she doesn't find this and piece it together lol

Personal consumption is not a criminal offense in Portugal. “Personal consumption” is defined by quantity you carry (i.e. enough for personal use for a few days ). Never smoke indoors or at bars or clubs. DO NOT buy drugs from anyone that approaches you on the streets, especially in the Baixa and Bairro Alto areas.
Is Lisboa Safe?
Lisboa is a fairly safe city but use common sense precautions, especially at train stations, on public transport and when going out at night. For emergencies call 112.
