2023.06.08 21:15 curlygirly-99 Want to build credit

I'm 24 and I have zero credit. Bills have always been in someone else's name so I couldn't have built it that way and I'm currently living with my MIL so I don't have bills(just help with groceries and a few other things). I don't have a very steady income, but I do have enough to finance things and pay them off in a reasonable amount of time.
Are there credit card options for people with zero credit and dont have a high interest rate on the card? I have heard that it's best to not go over 50% of your credit limit so ideally I would like a credit limit of 2000 minimum so I then have 1000 in credits, but I don't know if that's possible seeing as I have no existing credit

2023.06.08 21:13 Otherwise_Reserve268 At what rate is a savings account better than premium bonds for when you go over your tax free interest?

Hi sorry as I feel quite thick asking this but I can't seem to settle on the maths and Google isn't being helpful.
I am an additional rate taxpayer. So I have to pay tax on any interest earned.
Initially I thought I'd just stick to premium bonds (after using ISA allowance ofc). But it got me thinking, if premium bonds is around 3.3% (I know this is average and the actual maths makes it more likely to be less), at what interest rate does it make sense to still put money into a savings account as even after paying 45% tax it still comes out better.

2023.06.08 21:13 Brittanyle3d Meeting with bankruptcy attorney

Are there specific things I need to look for /avoid when hiring an attorney for bankruptcy/tax help. We have an initial consultation tomorrow with an attorney regarding our tax debt from 2022 (30k)/ personal loan (30k)/ credit card debt (45k) and medical debt(15k). We own our home - only have owned for a year now- and we have 3 vehicles. One we bought and the other 2 are leases(still paying on all 3). My husband works makes about 150k/year- I have not worked since the birth of my child 3 months ago and don’t plan to return. I have so many questions. We are not behind on anything yet but we are no longer keeping our heads above water with interest rates/ monthly payments, etc. Worried about losing home. Feel like a failure. We are in Wisconsin. As far as assets go my husband has a 401/investment account and I can’t imagine we have equity in our home yet….feels like a big mess… just hoping we can find an attorney that really knows the law

2023.06.08 21:08 jonobp Worksafe BC Claim Keeps Going

I have a stone counter business in the fraser valley, British Columbia
I had an employee start in 2022 Feb and work till Aug 2022.
He said he "can't move his arm" then went to some phisio, doctor, it was all very vague and dragged out. I did a injury form with worksafe bc in good faith and said he may hurt from over exertio.
Stone counters is a Physical job thats just a fact. The trade would die if you were not allowed to do physical heavy lifting.
I then tried until february 2022 having him in for modified duties, light Work loads, but set back after set back he would reagravare it and it started to seem more and more fishy.
It's now June 2023, he's been on worksafe for longer then he worked here. I got a letter today that the costs to date are $60,000 for his rehab and vocation rehabilitation servixes. And that my future rates now may go up.
How do I fight this? I think in my heart this guy is working the system. And now I have to pay for it.
Worksafe is a joke to work with. They don't take emails. They tell us how its going to be. They don't listen to me when I question the process. It's a joke.
What should I do? Get a lawyer? Fight them? Let it run it's course?

Transformers Rise of the Beasts is too busy shaking cinema walls to be on Netflix just yet. But we’ll keep an eye on the streamer’s catalog and let you know if the new Transformers outing does show up in the future. The streaming giant has a massive catalog of television shows and movies, but it does not include 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.' We recommend our readers watch other dark fantasy films like 'The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.'

Are Transformers: Rise of the Beasts coming to Disney Plus?
Transformers Rise of the Beasts is not on Disney Plus, and we doubt it will end up there any time soon. The new Transformers movie is a Paramount production, so it’s not likely to end up on the streaming arm of a rival studio. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, the latest installment in the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts franchise, is coming to Disney+ on July 9th! The simple answer is, probably not, since Paramount Pictures make “Transformers” films, and so this means that the new movie will be streaming exclusively on Paramount+, following a theatrical and digital release.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Will Stream On Paramount+
Transformers: Rise of the Beast is expected to be available to watch via streaming on Paramount Plus by September 9, 2023. Paramount+ is where Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will stream upon its release. Paramount has been in charge of the Transformers movie franchise since it began in 2007 and thus is responsible for releasing every entry in theaters. While the studio might have previously sent its movies to other streaming services like Netflix, the shift to focus more on the development of its own streaming service Paramount+ has changed this tactic. That is why Paramount has released its other major recent blockbusters like Top Gun: Maverick or Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves on Paramount+ after their theatrical runs conclude.

Want to know how to watch the Transformers movies in order before Rise of the Beasts roars into theaters? You've come to the right place. The seventh entry in Paramount Pictures' Transformers film franchise arrives in cinemas worldwide on Friday, June 9, so you don't have much time left to watch its predecessors at home. But, if you're planning to cram them all in before catching Transformers: Rise of the Beasts this weekend, we're here to help you work out how to watch them in chronological and release date order, and we'll also tell you which of the world's best streaming services have them as part of their movie libraries.

So, if you're ready to be reunited with Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and company – and get the lowdown on every Transformers film to be released so far – read on.

Here's How and Where You Can Watch All of the Transformers movies
The best place to start is finding out where you can watch all of the Transformers movies in order in the comfort of your own home. If you're subscribed to Paramount Plus, that's your answer – well, for five of the six films, anyway. Paramount's primary streaming platform is home to the Michael Bay-directed trilogy – Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The streamer's film library is also home to the two Mark Wahlberg-starring flicks, Transformers: Age of Extinction and Transformers: The Last Knight.

● Transformers (released on July 3, 2007)
● Revenge of the Fallen (released on June 24, 2009)
● Dark of the Moon (released on June 29, 2011)
● Age of Extinction (released on June 27, 2014)
● The Last Knight (released on June 21, 2017)
● Bumblebee (released on Dec. 21, 2018)

Potential users looking to watch this quintet of movies will want to check out our Paramount Plus price guide to see how much it costs to sign up. Alternatively, you can get the lowdown on whether a Paramount Plus free trial is available, so you can try the service out without paying any money to stream the movies. Unfortunately for Paramount Plus UK and Australian-based users, the sixth entry in the action sci-fi franchise, 2018's Bumblebee, isn't available on British shores as part of the package.

US subscribers can catch Bumblebee on Paramount Plus (and Fubo, for what it's worth), but UK and Australian fans will have to look elsewhere to get the full Transformers movies in order experience. Here's where UK and Australian viewers can watch Bumblebee instead:

● Australia – rent or buy via Amazon, Apple TV Google Play, Microsoft, or YouTube stores
● UK – rent or buy via Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, Microsoft, Rakuten, Sky, or YouTube stores

Will Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Be On HBO Max?
No, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Paramount Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.

Disney may have made billions with last year’s mega-blockbuster Avatar: The Way of Water, but for now it’s going to share the streaming success. The Steven Caple Jr. directed sequel is coming to streaming on September 11 and though the film was distributed by Disney, Disney+ won’t be the only place to see it. You can see it there as well as Max, aka HBO Max.

Are Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animated movie Transformers: Rise of the Beasts on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

No, 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' is unavailable on Hulu. People who have a subscription to the platform can enjoy 'Afro Samurai Resurrection' or 'Ninja Scroll.'

When Will Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Be on DVD and Blu-ray?
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will likely be coming to DVD and Blu-ray around the same time as the streaming release. With theatrical films, on average, coming to streaming sooner than ever (usually ninety days after theatrical release), we'll likely see Transformers: Rise of the Beasts get a DVD, and Blu-ray release no later than Fall 2023. Transformers Rise of the Beasts isn’t on Blu-ray yet but will join the rest of the franchise on disc before the end of 2023. There are plenty of fancy releases and box sets of the other Transformers movies, so we’re sure this one will be available to buy in all of its 4K glory very soon.

● John DiMaggio as Stratosphere
● Peter Dinklage as Scourge
● David Sobolov as Battletrap
● John DiMaggio as Transit
● Michaela Jaé Rodriguez - Nightbird

What Transformers: Rise of the Beasts About:
Optimus Prime and the Autobots take on their biggest challenge yet. When a new threat capable of destroying the entire planet emerges, they must team up with a powerful faction of Transformers known as the Maximals to save Earth. For a while, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts looked like it might be another Bumblebee--a Transformers movie that lacks any of the pizzazz of the Michael Bay flicks but which actually tells a decent story about characters you actually care about. For the first 45 minutes to an hour, we get the most compelling and relatable version yet of the story about a regular person accidentally becoming friends with an alien robot who was secretly a car. But then the plot really kicks in, and suddenly we're watching a Michael Bay Transformers movie--but without Bay's skill as an action filmmaker.

It’s a tale as old as time: A human character stumbles upon a group of Transformers that includes Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) and Bumblebee (voiceless yet again), and gets roped into their battle with an evil faction, which inevitably involves a race for a piece of Transformers tech that has the power to destroy the world.(Inshallah)

2023.06.08 21:02 SplitTricky6106 Well it happened...

Well it happened...
I was finally removed off the Uber platform without explanation. My background check has been pending since April although it cleared a few weeks ago on Checkr. I cant even go online to do deliveries. Honestly I don't care. I have other gig apps set up that more than accommodate for my needs. Screw Uber the whole know what you make before you accept a ride is just cover for them to pay us less. Getting deactivated is bitter sweet. No more karens in my car and I can actually listen to my own music. Good luck to anyone else out there still driving pretty soon those rates will be 0.25 a mile. You are also bound to run into a passenger that will get your account deactivated so they can get a free 3 mile ride. Its no longer a matter of if, but when. If it happened to me its only a matter of time before it happens to you. Voice your oppinion to uber if you want this crap to get fixed.

2023.06.08 21:01 spacecati Strategy for tackling credit scores before taking out a car loan

Hello y’all, me and my fiancé are looking into financing a car in about a month or two. I know that currently it’s a bad time because of interest rates and the inflated car market but we need something good and reliable for her job.
Our buying range ideally is between 15-20k for ideally a used Prius and we have about 4-6k we can put down. We make about 95k combined. We don’t really know much on credit, she’s never taken on any credit cards or loans because her family has some pretty severe credit problems that’s made her very weary of it. Mine is at about 670 currently, which isn’t good. I’ve had an OpenSky card at below 30% utilization for 3 years now, always paid on time but that’s it. I also have about $300 worth of debt due to some things I didn’t pay off ~5 1/2 yrs ago.
My main question is how should we approach buying a car with this in mind? From the little I know, I think the debt more or less falls off after 7 years right? Is it worth it to pay off the debt for the minimal score increase? I can easily afford it, I just don’t know what it would do in terms of my credit score because it’s been on my record for so long. If I paid it off how long would it be before my credit is adjusted to reflect that debt being paid off? Should my fiancé get a credit card before we take out a loan or will it not matter since it’s so close to taking out the loan? We’re planning on opening a joint account at a credit union to use for bills as well as compare rates to the dealerships, is this a good plan as well? Thanks for any advice.

2023.06.08 20:59 Loose_Call2806 Advice for someone with no income, but has an asset and mental health problems.

Hi everyone,
So I've had ongoing mental health problems that have severely impacted my ability to earn a steady income (and at times, any income at all), i'm currently in therapy and hopefully on the road to recovery.
I'm 34 years old and in good health.
About 6-7 years ago I inherited about £200k (yes I know, very fortunate) that I used to buy a house in 2018 to rent out. That's been going steady and the house cost about £150k-ish all in. It's now worth about £230k according to Zoopla, which seems ridiculous, but then I haven't had a proper valuation done on it so that number might vary.
That's been paying a steady rental income (about £600 per month after costs of management and insurance, etc) that I've been using to pay rent where I live (a different, more expensive part of the country so buying a house is possible but choices are limited) which is £650 per month.
Unfortunately, because of my mental health problems over the years I've had to rely on that remaining £50k to pay for everything else whenever i've under-earned (as a result of being self-employed) or months when I haven't earned anything.
I'm currently going through the process of therapy, treatment, etc but it's a long process and I don't know how much longer it will take to get to a place where I can return to employment. It feels pretty unachievable at current.
I have pretty modest living costs, Around £750 per month seems to cover everything (since inflation went up anyway) as long as nothing expensive happens, which it invariably does from time to time, although that amount doesn't really leave much room for a whole lot of comfort. I've probably used up about £25k since the beginning of the pandemic when i lost all of my freelance clients and my mental health problems worsened (I didn't qualify for furlough because I wasn't earning enough).
I'm down to about £25k or so and don't want to waste any more of it because I already feel incredibly shitty about the amount I've used already. I want to see if I can use my total resources more efficiently to help me bring in more income to support me whilst I try and get my shit together and moving forward into the future.
I don't have any other assets or forms of income to speak
I do have a couple of reservations:
1.) I'm apprehensive about selling the house as it's been a godsend in terms of providing SOME level of reliability, and the tenant I have is great and I make sure she's happy, any problems get sorted, etc and I value a longer-term tenant at a below-market rate vs multiple tenants in a shorter period at higher rates. BUT I would consider it if there was a genuine option that made it worth it. I believe that property is earning something in the range of 3% based on it's current value, which is of course not as good as it could be, but on the flipside, it's 3% of a large amount of money.
2.) I'm also apprehensive about taking on debt and leveraging existing assets, but again I wouldn't be 100% against it as I know a few of you will say that i'm over-invested in one area and taking on a mortgage might be a way to diversify without causing a taxable event. I don't think I'd take it out in order to buy another property. Not at current prices and interest rates anyway - I'd be looking more at stocks, dividends, etc.
I don't have any other assets or forms of income to speak of.
Hopefully someone here can help me or at least point me in the right direction, I know I'm in a fortunate position but I also don't want to waste this opportunity that I have been given.
I hope that's enough information, I'll try my best to provide any more information moving forward.
Thanks

2023.06.08 20:57 LenaHel Where have you dealt with the most disrespectful customers?

Hello, gals and guys. I have this theory that the lower a customer has to pay, the more entitled/disrespectful they get. So I'd say you'll find most of the trolls in sites with fixed rates (whether it's fixed for good, or during your "new model" status). Does it track for you too? I'd like to read some of your experiences in this matter. Thanks!

2023.06.08 20:57 retirement_savings [WA State] Landlord won't get back to me about lease negotiation before 20 day notice period

This is in Seattle.
I rent a 2B apartment and got a lease renewal notice with increased rent. The leasing agent verbally told me it was "highly negotiable" (we've had a lot of construction that makes this apartment worse to live in than precious years). We also learned the people living below us in an identical unit pay $500 less than we do.
We sent an email telling them what we'd be comfortable paying. Several weeks later and after several follow ups, they got back to us and said they could drop the rent a little, but it was still significantly higher than comparable units. We went in person to discuss why we felt that number wasn't completely fair, and they told us to submit a counter offer in writing and they'd get back to us. That was 3 weeks ago, and despite multiple follow ups they have not gotten back to us. We are now 20 days away from lease expiration, and our lease requires giving 20 days notice to move out.
What should our course of action be if they continue not to respond? Our lease states we go month to month if no new lease and we continue to live here, but at a much higher rate, which is what worries me (I'm concerned they're intentionally stalling).
If they end up not being able to lower the rent any more, would the email we sent saying "we would be comfortable paying $(offer - 200)" constitute a notice of non renewal, since we didn't accept their terms?

I helped organize my workplace as an IBEW shop - risking my job because I believed it was the right thing to do, and because I trusted the IBEW reps.
Then the IBEW negotiators came in. The new contract actually included a pay cut for me, and prohibited any subsequent raises from that new, reduced pay rate. The IBEW contract benefits were actually worse in most cases than what I had already negotiated for myself.
I'm not opposed to unions - I was UFCW before, and loved them. Just a disclaimer to anyone who's making life decisions based on what IBEW reps tell them. Treat them like military recruiters - take everything with a BIG grain of salt.

2023.06.08 20:44 SleeplessSnooze VA Inital claim Denied Knee Pain

I initially had pain during my first exam and had similar issues such as instability and knee/leg pain; In 2015. It was left as "undiagnosed".
I just recently had a C&P exam and got rated for my knees pain and instability. (2023) I got two months worth of backpay. Which is the time between the supplemental claim being taken and settled.
Should the back lay go back to 2015 or is the two months of back pay correct?

2023.06.08 20:40 nt4cats-reddit Reddit API Changes, Subreddit Blackout, and How It Affects You

Greetings chromeos,
Recently, Reddit has announced some changes to their API that may have pretty serious impact on many of it's users.
You may have already seen quite a few posts like these across some of the other subreddits that you browse, so we're just going to cut to the chase.
What's Happening
Note: A lot of this has been sourced and inspired from a fantastic mod-post on wow, they do a great job going in-depth on the entire situation. Major props to the team over there! You can read their post here
Open Letter to Reddit & Blackout
In lieu of what's happening above, an open letter has been released by the broader moderation community, and chromeos will be supporting it.
Part of this initiative includes a potential subreddit blackout (meaning, the subreddit will be privatized) on June 12th, lasting 24-48 hours or longer. This hopefully will make enough of an impact to influence Reddit to change their minds on this.
Cheers,
The chromeos Moderation Team

  2. my step mom and i aren’t in good terms anymore, so when it came to the insurance and final pay my dads brother decided to split the money into 3…. is this even legal? (context: my dads brother is the president in where my dad works at) does he really have a final say in splitting the money into 3?

2023.06.08 20:39 tyjer87 GTA Housing & Rat Race (how do we escape?)

As a young adult, I observe many of my peers who are eager to purchase homes but constantly lament about the exorbitant prices in the GTA. Some rely on the Bank of Mom and Dad for their down payment, while others diligently save on their own. However, despite their efforts, they find themselves struggling to reach their goal due to the continuously rising prices.
There seems to be an underlying belief that if you don't own a house, you are somehow a failure in life. Fueled by this fear of being judged, I see my peers diving headfirst into the market and burdening themselves with mortgages where a significant portion (75%-90%) of their monthly income goes toward covering their housing expenses. They live in constant fear of the Bank of Canada's decisions to increase interest rates and are even liking the idea of banks one day extending mortgage amortization periods to 50+ years, just to alleviate some financial pressure and improve their cash flow. In the process, they neglect important aspects of financial literacy, such as saving in Tax-Free Savings Accounts (TFSAs), building retirement nest eggs (RRSPs), or establishing an emergency fund that covers at least six months' worth of expenses. All these principles are sacrificed in their pursuit of entering the GTA housing market.
Previous generations witnessed extraordinary appreciation in property values, with some areas experiencing a tenfold increase. They were able to enjoy a mortgage-free life. However, the question that arises for our generation is how long we will have to wait to witness such appreciation. If the trend of extending amortization periods continues to sustain the system, how will we ever manage to pay off our homes? If we fail to allocate any funds toward retirement, what is our game plan for the future?
We cannot simply replicate the strategies of the past generation. We find ourselves in a challenging position, almost akin to modern-day slavery. It feels like we are trapped in a cycle of working to live and living to work. It's as if we're stuck in the matrix, questioning the true meaning and purpose of this pursuit.

2023.06.08 20:31 AffectElectrical9709 Acceptance rate doesn’t count but it does.

Tony Inc is being hypocritical with the High Pay order program. I say this and my acceptance isn’t low so this isn’t sour grapes. This is in support of dashers under 70% acceptance down to 0%.
It’s unfair to dashers with low acceptance rates because that’s not supposed to determine what orders people get.
Yet DoorDash has done so. If independent contractors are what dashers are. The acceptance rate should not count or matter.
How does it not matter if a dasher has a 1% acceptance rate and matter at the same time. Sending people 1 order in an hour for $2.50 for 15 miles is not independent contracting. It’s an attempt to force dashers to take bad bids at their own expenses because DoorDash/Tony Inc sees the delivery drivers as desperate and Paupers. They’d never treat people they respected like this.
Dashers should be able to counter bid.
Contracting involves counter offers. Not take it or leave it and you lose a point % that doesn’t count but counts at the same time.
Ashton Kutcher must be Punk’n us all because the FTC can’t continue allowing this.

2023.06.08 20:30 tech-head27 I tried NITRO Studio for 90 Days. Here's what happened.

I decided to try NITRO Studio from Crow Canyon Software for 90 days to see how hard it would be to implement and if it would ROI. My goal going into it was to automate various workflows and forms that we use a lot.
A little backstory about our set up. We use SharePoint on prem. We have dabbled in Power Platform, but have found it gets pretty pricey once premium connectors come into the picture, so we decided to give this a whirl with the idea that if it works, it would save us a nice chunk of change.
Getting started wasn’t bad. Crow Canyon Software got us set up pretty quickly and we also purchased support hours to have a little extra help getting started. They seem to be mostly based in the US, which was nice (so am I) and maybe some in India. For someone who is familiar with SharePoint, it’s pretty easy to jump into. If you are a SharePoint newbie you may need some extra training to get up to speed but it isn’t rocket science. They offer phone, email, and chat support, so you have a few options. I had some scheduled calls to get started, but I also like that they have a KB and chat support if I need quick help in the middle of something.
Creating forms was pretty simple. It’s all drag and drop but you can also customize it, which was good for us to have it sync up with our corporate branding. Overall, this part was pretty flexible and easy. Again, if you know SharePoint, this part should be a breeze.
Workflows were simple too. Again, it’s all drag and drop and pretty straightforward.
If you aren’t a tech-head, you can get this set up without any coding, but of course if you want to code, you can.
These two pieces met my primary goal for NITRO Studio. They were easy to set up and implement. I started with just a handful of workflows for our most common tasks and also automated some of our most commonly used internal forms. I kept it at that for the initial test, because frankly, I wanted to see if it was worth continuing with before putting too much into it, but I was pretty happy with the results. Ramp up time wasn’t too bad and I think it helped a lot that it lives in the M365 environment. We have tried some other third party workflow builders in the past and just didn’t have a good adoption rate internally. People seemed to take to this pretty well and we definitely found it saved time and helped reduce errors we were seeing in some of our workflows (people forgetting to follow through).
All in all, at the end of my little 90 day experiment, I’m pretty satisfied. We have decided to continue with NITRO Studio and build more forms & workflows here. I’m working my way through other processes and getting a pretty good ROI. Definitely paying a lot less than I was for Power Platform and it’s getting the job done so I really can’t complain.
