I bought a car 2 days ago from a dealership. It's a 2013 Ford Cmax.
I was driving along when all of a sudden an oil light came on it conked out and smoke was coming out the bonnet.
I got it recovered to the dealership and they have it in for inspection to "see what to do next".
The problem I have is they told me the car was serviced as part of the purchase on the day I bought it which Is clearly untrue as the oil is really dirty and looks as if it hasn't been changed in about a year as well as the air conditioning not working.
The garage is talking about engine swaps and other pretty big maintenance work to get the car running again but I've lost my trust in the dealership and I'd like my money back and my part ex car back. Does my right right refuse under the consumer right act apply here? And how do I go about doing this? I don't really want to have to take them to court because it costs a lot of money but I really just want my old car back and not to deal with it all

Does anyone know this year’s Pride parade route? The New Orleans Pride website says it’s basically going around the perimeter of the Quarter (N. Peter, St. Louis, Rampart), but the Gambit article said it’s going down Royal. Just trying to figure out the best place to watch.

I am having a second thoughts about purchasing a new car from a dealership. I have paid a deposit of 1k and I’m about to get the delivery of the vehicle. I called the salesman and he said that I cannot cancel the deal at this point because the car is registered under my name and it cannot be resold as new. Can the dealership force me to buy the car? I am fine with losing the deposit. I’m in Ontario. Please help. Thanks in advance

Have a 2015 Equinox. I got an engine light with o2 sensor 1 failure after replacing the same O2 sensor at my usual local mechanic. Tested the sensor and it's not defective or anything. Around this time the car began acting weird on startup. I can turn it over just fine, but if left idling before putting into gear it will eventually, 1-2 min max, begin to rumble around and then turn off/stall. It will do the same if I immediately put it into gear (reverse/Drive) and start driving. It'll start to rumble and try to stall/turn off within the first 500ft of driving but if I slam down the accelerator once or twice it'll come back to life, rev up, and then it's perfectly fine for the rest of the drive but will do it on any start up after even if the engine is warm. IT'S VERY WEIRD. This is my 4th vehicle, first Chevy, and have never experienced this nor has my usual mechanic even seen this issue.
Could it be O2 sensor related as part of the emission system? I've checked all fuses, plugged my computer in and shows only the O2 sensor error and nothing else. Up to date on all oil changes and basic engine work. Car has 136k miles on it and I usually throw in a fuel injector cleanse every 5-10k and like to run a tank or two of E85 (Flex Fuel model) to keep everything running smooth. Other than this it's been a super reliable car. Alternator and AC compressor went on me last summer but aside from new brakes last year as well, no major issues ever and i've had it since 80k.

any suggestions would be really great. My last resort will be the dealership where I'll be charged 4x what I usually do for anytype of service including oil changes, but i'd really like this issue to be fixed. Thanks.

As the title says - I’m aware it sounds like a stupid idea but I like the plate number my current 2008 Ford Fiesta has and I’ve seen a second hand car that’s pretty much the same, just 09 plated. Is there a way I can keep the plate number from my current car and put it on the new one? Or is it only possible to buy one in addition to the cars original plate number? Hopefully that makes sense.

23 outer banks high package with the 2.7L v6, soft top, aux switches, 360 cameras, and tow capability
I’m a little apprehensive about it because it doesn’t have a ton of the bells a whistles I want such as the b&o speakers (on my current OB BS) and it doesn’t have the hard top.
Any good aftermarket speakers or hard top options that won’t break the banks?

Hello, i just received a a letter from the IRS stating I owe $4k in taxes. Back in 2016 I bought a new van and traded in my jeep with the dealership in the process. Fast forward to today, I receive a letter from the IRS stating I owe taxes on the loan of the jeep. It showed that the financial company put down the loan was forgiven rather than paid. Now the government wants taxes since that loan is considered income. But the loan wasn’t forgiven it was paid when I traded the jeep in for the van. What would trigger something like this to happen and what documentation do I need to send to the IRS so they don’t just take the few dollars I have in the bank. I’m literally poor and have no money let alone $4k dollars.
