So I am 25F and my sister is 18. She is better than me in so many ways. For one in school she actually cares about her grades and she gets straight As in her class. She's gonna be recognized at her high school graduation which is so great and Im happy for her but for some reason my mind just goes back to me (selfish i know) and puts myself down. I graduated from college but it took me 6 yrs just to get a GPA lower than a 2.5 cause I never cared about school like she does. As title says, last boss suffers from having instant teleport that is hard to know timing. We need better telegraphing on bosses movement like audio cues.

After a year of being addicted to pharma hydros and oxy, I made it to 60 hours of not taking anything with only 1050mg of pregabalin the first day and 900 the second day, I don't know what happened today but the symptoms really felt worse today and in desperation I went and got more oxy like an idiot, I am referring my decision right now as I really want to get clean but I was weak and don't know where to go from here, I feel ashamed of myself right now and feel like such a failure, this is not normal behavior and I didn't see myself as an addict before but I can now understand it and I can admit it to myself, I need to be stronger but I dont know how to this really sucks and I wish I never to that one doctor when I hurt my tail bone, life sucks

So, my boyfriend and I have been planing a week long getaway for about 6 months now. The trip there is going to be about 14 hours and we’re going to road trip it. She bought a hotel room in the hotel we’re staying in, without telling me, and expects to come on the trip with us. I laid out all of my grievances about how despite the fact that I am a tax paying adult, she is still clinging on to me like I’ll die the second she lets go. My dad is telling me that while he understands where I’m coming from, I should have been more gentle with her because she’s just worried about me. I got 5 credits for English from my college based on my AP scores. I also took one 4 credit course once I matriculated into college. As I am labeling my courses with the prerequisites on AACOMAS, I noticed that most schools so far require 6 credits of English but I cannot find any information on the website of most schools regarding how they view AP credits. Does anybody have any experience using AP English credits to apply to DO schools?

I'm thinking about transferring to Penn and considering going to med school as well. I can't decide if I want to do Bioengineering or if I want to do Biology/neuroscience at Penn. I'm wondering about the stress that comes from the school work at the engineering school. Is it really difficult to maintain a 4.0 GPA? Even if it isn't a 4.0 GPA how hard is it to have a good work/life balance? Are there any benefits to doing bioengineering over biology for pre-med? How much difficult is it to be accepted into SEAS over CAS?

I have an idea of what I want, it’s just more so which way should I go lol. I work in healthcare right now and it’s actually a pretty solid entry level job that let’s me pull 2-3 12hour shifts within the week. I’m a PRN so scheduling is flexible. I’m planning on starting up school (no college exp, took a couple college classes in high school but yea lol). I’m just trying to decide should I stay in healthcare or honestly just go into tech.
I always had an interest in tech and I’ve had some experience coding in the past, plus originally I was going to go for a computer science degree after graduating high school, but I took a gap year and decided to get some things in my life in order before going to school lol. Of course that involved me falling into this healthcare job, and honestly now I have a taste of working in healthcare….. and I don’t completely hate it? My only thing is, this job in particular doesn’t have much future prospects, and I honestly feel I’ve gone as far as I can go with it, unless I do travel contracts (which is still on the table for me). Plus I’ve just decided to leave a facility because it did get toxic (mostly because of management). It sucks cause I genuinely enjoyed the job itself and the people I worked with. It’s also opened up my interest in other healthcare jobs that do require more schooling (radiology and medical lab technician was what I was looking at, nooooo nursing please omg).
I don’t know though honestly. My experience at this last facility just really has me re-evaluating everything lol. Plus I’m about to turn 25. I will be starting at a new facility soon (same job), and it definitely seems a lot better especially cause a coworker I know has left and gone there and they love it (they got me in actually lol). Now I’m just thinking about my future. My experience at the last facility has honestly shown me the ugly side of healthcare, and honestly it doesn’t matter how perfect that healthcare gig is, it can go to shit in an instant because of a manager with an inflated ego gets hired or something and just destroys everything. Whether it’s for money or whatever other stupid accolades they wanna slap on their resume to become CEO, I just honestly am tired and stressed tf out from that. They’re a despicable human being let’s just say that. I know any job is really prone to that, but man is healthcare prone to those fucking personalities.
Anyways now I’m leaning towards tech again, although I won’t lie those couple other healthcare careers are still in the back of my mind, I just don’t know where to go. I won’t lie I think the biggest appeal healthcare has to me is the fact you can do 5-8s, 4-10s or 3-12s depending on what career you go into. It’s not a dealbreaker for me but man, when I got a taste of those shifts, it’s hard to think of going back to 5-8s 😭 I know tech can have a good work-life balance too, I just know it’s going through a transition right now because of all the AI stuff, plus it would be nice to land some type of schedule like that, but I know it’s typically that 5-8 type of career. All I know is, I do need to do my pre-reqs for college, so I’ll at least do that while I make my decision.

If the experience is true, then are we all here to find ourselves together, or are some receiving a higher purpose? In all aspects of life, there are hierarchies, nowadays we only think about this in the context that in our biological lives we start at the bottom and work our way up from there. If the experience is true, then it couldn't be further from reality. Does the universe give us a spiritual purpose? It sounds like a foolish question because it would never be possible to answer it. Everything one sees around that reminds one of their goals, is it just a coincidence? I know I'm not the only one who feels that something big awaits me. Or is it perhaps foolish to believe that am i just on the same path as others in search of purpose, or is this deeper? I think that if people had the same experience as I do in life, they would believe me. Those who are faithful have felt that they sometimes receive signs that could be stamped as a coincidence, but there is something that tells them that some higher power has done this for them to remind them that he is with them, helping them, or showing them the right path. But what if he indirectly uses other people to influence the individual he is talking to? It's hard to contain this question let alone explain what I mean by this, but I think this would work like this. If a holy spirit that is omnipotent lives within us, then in theory he would know everything you are going to say or will ever say or think. What if by coincidence you and your friend hang out together and everything he says and does obviously relates to everything you are thinking about, almost as if he's reading your thoughts in some strange and supernatural way, but you can't describe how or why, what it means or how it's happening, is the Holy Spirit working through another person to influence you?

I am a daily command-line user, but I find the terminal ecosystem having a few issues relating to its rendering approach:

• very difficult to support langauges different from English writing system: Arabic, hebrew, traditional Japanese, etc. It is surprising that this issue is so difficult to solve in 2023.
• Cannot display text of varying font sizes on the same screen. This would be nice to have with documents (which usually have carying text sizes).
• difficulty with image or pixel based rendering. Now this might not be true, because I have seen some terminal emulators render images, and I do not understand how that works exactly.

So I am asking here to see if there are any projects that have tried to fix these issues. Maybe projects that take a different approach to the traditional text grid system, which has a decent bit of legacy baggage?
I do worry that this would break a lot of backwards compatibility, but would be nice to see if this exists anywhere and how much backward compatibility issues they solved.

That the hospital prescribed me I have been dizzy very bad, I don’t suffer from dizziness so I’m 100 percent sure it’s from the medication it even said on the label that this medication can cause dizziness and because I was tryna get rid of what I thought was oral thrush I regret it, I discontinued the medicine but it’s been 11 days and it hasn’t gone away, on google it says it takes 6 days to completely leave the body why do I still feel this way? I called the pharmacist they said they can’t help me to wait it out, I called the hospital and they seem irritated to even answer my questions, I can’t see my doctor because she’s booked , I’m dizzy 24/7 and it’s worse when I’m in my room, crazy enough the only relief I get is when I’m driving, idk what to do I got kids to take care of and work and I haven’t been able to do shit over this pill, also I am crying I don’t have a doctor to talk to, and I really don’t wanna go back to the hospital for them to prescribe medication anyways on top of how I feel…

First, what is a (NOT)TRPG?
It's a (very dumb) term I just came up with to describe a type of game I think we will be seeing more of in the near future: games which are made for, and exclusively played through, virtual table tops (Roll20, foundry, proprietary etc.). This came to me while designing a system that doesn't work at all at the table, but might be fun with a VTT automating some of its elements.
I have been brainstorming a few different mechanics for a system. It is intended to push a very heavy focus on fiction-first gaming, but through a lens that semi-resemble traditional gridded strategic combat games (making sure no players are happy). As a result of that lens, I sometimes can't help but come up with mechanics requiring large amounts of number tracking.
While tons of constant bookkeeping isn't necessarily antithetical to the idea of fiction-forward games, there's no doubt it's in opposition with the players who generally stick to those games.
I will use the example I came up with during my brainstorming session to illuminate this idea of VTT only games:
Imagine the skills list from BRP, but similar skills are collected into overall categories. A category has a minimum of 1 point and a maximum of 12 points, which are distributed by players on character creation.
The skill categories for each character are then added to a communal list which sums everything, and the skills are used as the party's:
*Health pools *Dice size indicator *Point pool for giving bonuses to rolls
These numbers are, simultaneously, points that can be spent to augment other skills' rolls, and a designation of how large a dice the party can roll for that skill. For example, trying to ride donkeys through an overgrown forest to quickly escape some goblin donkey-eaters would require a Riding roll, but the party can spend points they may have in the Environment skill pool (if they have the forest sub-category) to augment that roll with a flat bonus.
With a 10 in Riding and 6 points in Environment -forest, They could roll a d10 for Riding, and then choose to spend 2 points from Environment, giving the riding roll a flat bonus of +2. Spending the points from the Environment skill category reduces it from 6 to 4 points, so skill checks using it would be rolled with d4s now, as opposed to the d6 they could have rolled before.
So this is obviously a pretty terrible system for a TTRPG. It's way too much work to Track 12+ skill pools of points on a communal sheet that needs to be passed all around, with constantly changing values, and constantly changing die sizes. The sheet would be a mess after the first session, the party would be ripping through notebook pages, and somebody would have to be constantly writing something nearly every time anyone did anything.
However, this problem disappears in a digital environment which automatically tracks the points spent, automatically steps the die sizes up and down, and can all easily be controlled with one or two buttons per player. Suddenly, this system becomes way more palatable. Obviously, that's not to say this would be a good system, as there's a boatload of other problems with it, but I think it helps to illustrate how a VTT can drastically change some of the design priorities with TTRPG game development.
Games can use extremely complex math to calculate things on the spot, and simply present the player with the relevant information they need to make decisions. Of course, straying too far in that direction would simply create multiplayer video games, but a lot of the design ethos in current TTRPGs, and their benefits, can be kept with VTTs while the tracking and math can be automated.
Combine this with free proprietary VTT access with monetized graphics and features, like we see in video games, and, well that actually sounds like a horrible nightmare. Let's try not to think of those things and imagine cool games requiring a one-time purchase being made for general VTTs.
Does anyone else agree or disagree with my thoughts here? Has anyone been looking into making a game like this?

I read it as a test of how far Lottie would really go. If you watch the chase scene, the first one to chase Shauna is Lottie, and then several yards back are the other girls. I actually thought they were chasing Lottie (not Shauna), and when they caught her they would put her down (as opposed to an Institution). Sort of a test of how dangerous Lottie really was, and since she failed she was too dangerous to let live. Did anyone else read the scene this way?
