2023.05.29 04:33 autotldr Turkish election victory for Erdogan leaves nation divided

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 76%. (I'm a bot)
President Erdogan ended with just over 52% of the vote based on near-complete unofficial results - almost half the electorate in this deeply polarised country did not back his authoritarian vision of Turkey.
Ultimately Mr Kilicdaroglu was no match for the well-drilled Erdogan campaign, even if he took the president to a run-off second round for the first time since the post was made directly elected in 2014.
Mr Erdogan poured scorn on the main opposition party's increase in its number of MPs in the parliament vote two weeks before.
President Erdogan has accused his opposite number of siding with terrorists, and criticised him for promising to free a former co-leader of Turkey's second largest opposition party, the pro-Kurdish HDP. Selahattin Demirtas has been languishing in jail since 2016, despite the European Court of Human Rights ordering his release.
Palestinians from Jordan wrapped Turkish flags around their shoulders and a Tunisian visitor, Alaa Nassar, said Mr Erdogan had not just made improvements to his own country, "He is also supporting Arabs and the Muslim world".
Since a failed coup in 2016, Mr Erdogan has abolished the post of prime minister and amassed extensive powers, which his opponent had pledged to roll back.

2023.05.29 04:32 charlotte_P PC Build help (possible PSU or MOBO issue?)

Hi wondering if any PC geeks can help me with this one.
I built my first PC about 2 years ago and it has been running fine (mostly) up until now.
Yesterday when I booted it up, the power came on but it did not boot to windows. Fans spin, RGB comes on but nothing on the screen. I tried starting it several times with the same result.
There doesn’t appear to be any damage of anything blown out on the mobo. I unplugged all the cables and plugged everything back in, and gave it a little clean while I was at it. When I restarted it, everything turned in and booted to windows just fine. Problem solved (or so I thought).
While playing a game I often play and have had no trouble with before (DCS), the system kept freezing up. I had to manually restart and then kept getting the same problem.
It was late so I turned everything off and left it overnight, and today when I try to boot up, I get as far as the windows splash screen and everything freezes.
I can boot into bios ok, but not windows.
So I guess I’m trying to work out if I have a bad PSU, a bad MOBO, or a bad ssd boot drive.
One thing I should add - when I built the system, I was running a single 4K monitor. Later I added a second monitor (same model), and found I had issues when booting up with both monitors plugged in (system boots ok with single monitor plugged in but not when both plugged in).
This kind of leads me to believe I may need a bigger psu and that the is some kind of surge happening when booting up, however not sure if this explains the recent problems with system freezing. If anyone could help me out identifying the culprit, that would be awesome!
Here are my system specs: CPU: Ryzen 9 3900x GPU: 2070 super MOBO: mSI MPG X570 gaming plus RAM: 4x corsair ddr4 16gb (64gb) PSU: cougar GX-F650 2 x Samsung 4K monitors 2x Crucial 1TB ssd (one is boot drive) and a 4TB HDD

2023.05.29 04:31 MasterDefibrillator Chomsky on Brazil (various Excerpts).

Chapter 2: The Empire
Or look at Brazil: potentially an extremely rich country with tremendous resources, except it had the curse of being part of the Western system of subordination. So in northeast Brazil, for example, which is a rather fertile area with plenty of rich land, just it’s all owned by plantations, Brazilian medical researchers now identify the population as a new species with about 40 percent the brain size of human beings, a result of generations of profound malnutrition and neglect—and this may be un-remediable except after generations, because of the lingering effects of malnutrition on one’s offspring.54 Alright, that’s a good example of the legacy of our commitments, and the same kind of pattern runs throughout the former Western colonies.
...
Chapter 5: Soviet Versus Western Economic Development:
Whatever you think of the Soviet economic system, did it work or did it fail? Well, in a culture with deeply totalitarian strains, like ours, we always ask an idiotic question about that: we ask, how does Russia compare economically with Western Europe, or with the United States? And the answer is, it looks pretty bad. But an eight-year-old would know the problem with that question: these economies haven’t been alike for six hundred years—you’d have to go back to the pre-Columbian period before East and West Europe were anything more or less alike economically....
Now, suppose we asked a rational question, instead of asking an insane question like “how did the Soviet Union compare with Western Europe?” If you want to evaluate alternative modes of economic development—whether you like them or not—what you ought to ask is, how did societies that were like the Soviet Union in 1910 compare with it in 1990? Well, history doesn’t offer precise analogs, but there are good choices. So we could compare Russia and Brazil, say, or Bulgaria and Guatemala—those are reasonable comparisons. Brazil, for example, ought to be a super-rich country: it has unbelievable natural resources, it has no enemies, it hasn’t been practically destroyed three times by invasions in this century [i.e. the Soviet Union suffered massive losses in both World Wars and the 1918 Western intervention in its Civil War]. In fact, it’s a lot better equipped to develop than the Soviet Union ever was. Okay, just compare Brazil and Russia—that’s a sane comparison.
Well, there’s a good reason why nobody undertakes it, and we only make idiotic comparisons—because if you compare Brazil and Russia, or Guatemala and Hungary, you get the wrong answer. Brazil, for maybe 5 or 10 percent of its population, is indeed like Western Europe—and for around 80 percent of its population, it’s kind of like Central Africa. In fact, for probably 80 percent of the Brazilian population, Soviet Russia would have looked like heaven. If a Guatemalan peasant suddenly landed in Bulgaria, he’d probably think he’d gone to paradise or something. So therefore we don’t make those comparisons, we only make crazy comparisons, which anybody who thinks for a second would see are preposterous. And everybody here does make them: all the academics make them, all the development economists make them, the newspaper commentators make them. But just think for a second: if you want to know how successful the Soviet economic system was, compare Russia in 1990 with someplace that was like it in 1910. Is that such a brilliant insight?
...
Chapter 10: Building international Unions:
In fact, it’s gotten to the point where some major corporations don’t even worry about strikes anymore, they see them as an opportunity to destroy unions. For instance, the Caterpillar corporation recently broke an eighteen-month strike in Decatur, Illinois [from June 1994 to December 1995], and part of the way they did it was by developing excess production capacity in foreign countries. See, major corporations have a ton of capital now, and one of the things they’ve been able to do with it is to build up extra overseas production capacity. So Caterpillar has been building plants in Brazil—where they get far cheaper labor than in the United States—and then they can use that production capability to fill their international orders in the event of a strike in the U.S. So they didn’t really mind the strike in Decatur, because it gave them an opportunity to finally break the union through this international strategy.72 That’s something that’s relatively new, and given this increasing centralization of power in the international economy, and the ability of big transnational corporations to play one national workforce against another to drive down work standards everywhere, there just has to be international solidarity today if there’s going to be any hope—and that means real international solidarity.
...
Chapter 8: "Free Trade" Agreements:
Well, okay, these are complicated matters, and you don’t just want to sloganize about them—but in my opinion, all of these international agreements are part of a general attack on democracy and free markets that we’re seeing in the contemporary period, as banks, investment firms, and transnational corporations develop new methods to extend their power free from public scrutiny. And in that context, it’s not very surprising that they’re all being rammed through as quickly and secretly as they are. And whatever you happen to think about the specific treaties that have now been put into place, there is just no doubt that their consequences for most of the people in the world are going to be vast.
In fact, these treaties are just one more step in the process that’s been accelerating in recent years of differentiating the two main class interests of the world still further—far more so than before—so that the Third World wealth-distribution model is being extended everywhere. And while the proportions of wealth in a rich country like the United States will always differ significantly from the proportions in a deeply impoverished country like Brazil, for example (deeply impoverished thanks to the fact that it’s been under the Western heel for centuries), you can certainly see the effects under way in recent years. I mean, in the United States things probably aren’t going to get to the point where 80 percent of the population is living like Central Africa and 10 percent is fabulously wealthy. Maybe it’ll be 50 percent and 30 percent or something like that, with the rest somewhere in between—because more people are always going to be needed in the Western societies for things like scientific research and skilled labor, providing propaganda services, being managers, things like that. But the changes no doubt are happening, and they will be rapidly accelerated as these accords are implemented.
The Organ Trade:
WOMAN: You mentioned “social cleansing” and people in the Third World selling their body parts for money. I don’t know if you saw the recent Barbara Walters program . . . The answer is, “No by definition.” WOMAN: Well, I have to admit I watched it. She had a segment on some American women who were attacked by villagers in Guatemala and put in jail for allegedly stealing babies for the organ trade. The gist of the story was that the Guatemalan people are totally out of their minds for supposing that babies are being taken out of the country and used for black market sale of organs. 22 What I’d like to know is, do you know of any evidence that this black market trade in children’s organs does in fact exist, and do you think the U.S. might be playing a role in it? Well, look: suppose you started a rumor in Boston that children from the Boston suburbs are being kidnapped by Guatemalans and taken to Guatemala so their bodies could be used for organ transplants. How far off the ground do you think that rumor would get? WOMAN: Not far. Okay, but in Guatemalan peasant societies it does get off the ground. Do they have different genes than we do? WOMAN: No. Alright, so there’s got to be some reason why the story spreads there and it wouldn’t spread here. And the reason is very clear. Though the specific stories are doubtless false in this case, there’s a background which is true—that’s why nobody would believe it here, and they do believe it there: because they know about other things that go on.
For one thing, in Latin America there is plenty of kidnapping of children. Now, what the children are used for, you can argue. Some of them are kidnapped for adoption, some of them are used for prostitution—and that goes on throughout the U.S. domains. I mean, you take a look at the U.S. domains—Thailand, Brazil, practically everywhere you go—there are young children being kidnapped for sex-slavery, or just plain slavery.23 So kidnapping of children unquestionably takes place. And there is strong evidence—I don’t think anybody doubts it very much—that people in these regions are killed for organ transplants.24 Now, whether it’s children or not, I don’t know. But if you take a look at the recent Amnesty International report on Colombia, for example, they say almost casually—just because it’s so routine—that in Colombia they carry out what’s called “social cleansing”: the army and the paramilitary forces go through the cities and pick up “undesirables,” like homeless people, or homosexuals, or prostitutes, or drug addicts, anybody they don’t like, and they just take them and murder them, then chop them up and mutilate their bodies for organ transplants. That’s called “social cleansing,” and everybody thinks it’s a great idea. 25 And again, this goes on throughout the U.S. domains.
In fact, it’s even beginning now in Eastern Europe as they’re being turned back into another sector of the Third World—people are starting to sell organs to survive, like you sell a cornea or a kidney or something.26 WOMAN: Your own? Yeah, your own. You just sell it because you’re totally desperate—so you sell your eyes, or your kidney, something that can be taken out without killing you. That goes on, and it’s been going on for a long time. Well, you know, that’s a background, and against that background these stories, which have been rampant, are believable—and they are in fact believed. And it’s not just by peasants in the highlands: the chief official in the Salvadoran government in charge of children [Victoria de Aviles], the “Procurator for the Defense of Children,” she’s called, recently stated that children in El Salvador are being kidnapped for adoption, crime, and organ transplants. Well, I don’t know if that’s true or not, but it’s not an authority you just dismiss. In Brazil too there’s been a lot of testimony about these things from very respectable sources: church sources, medical investigators, legal sources, and others.27
Now, it’s interesting: I didn’t see the Barbara Walters program you mentioned, but I’ve read the State Department reports on which she probably based her stuff—and they’re very selective in their coverage. They say, “Oh, it’s all nonsense and lies, and it was all started by the Communists,” and they trace it back to sort of Communist sources—which doubtless picked it up, but they are not the sources. The State Department carefully excluded all the other sources, like the church sources, the government sources, the mainstream legal investigators, the human rights groups—they didn’t mention them, they just said, “Yeah, the stories were picked up by the Russian propaganda apparatus back in the bad old days.” But that’s not where it comes from. Like I say, the Russians couldn’t start these stories in the Boston suburbs—and there’s a reason why they couldn’t start them in the Boston suburbs and somebody could start them in Guatemala. And the reason is, there’s a background in Guatemala against which these things are not implausible—which is not to say these women are being correctly charged; undoubtedly they’re not, these women are just women who happened to be in Guatemala. But the point is, that background makes it easy for people there to be frightened, and in that sort of context it’s quite understandable how these attacks can have happened.

2023.05.29 04:31 SadToupe I need more punishment but my Daddy is a little soft on me

By that I mean.. he lets me get away with a lot. And it works for us because I don’t want to feel like I’m constantly watched or like we are in a TPE but I do badly want to be genuinely punished.
However I don’t want to foot a bunch of extra work on my Daddy b/c this is something I want. But I’m not sure how to ask for it. I want to cry. Sometimes I need a good punishment to cry and sleep well and feel better. And I just love power someone has over me when I’m being spanked and made to take it. He knows this but he’s just not a punishing type, he’s more of a spoiling type. And I love that! He would also possibly be up for me to get my full from another Dom but that may take longer than I can stand.
We do have some protocols but they aren’t major. I was thinking maybe we could have some kind of confessional thing like “forgive me Daddy for I have sinned” type of thing? Idk tho cause that would feel forced so maybe we could create a scene?? Are there any creative ways y’all can think of where I can get my punishment without needing him to be hyper focused on me all the time?
All these things are flexible as well I’m not to dead set on anything other than wanting to feel humiliated and then ruthlessly spanked.
I’m happy to give more info if needed! Thanks!

2023.05.29 04:30 _thedogfather_ [P&P Round 2] Completely Sane Industries Reliant 'B' Light Tank

[P&P Round 2] Completely Sane Industries Reliant 'B' Light Tank

HEY, THIS IS NOT WHAT I MEANT WHEN I ASKED FOR A HALF TRACK!
Trust me, I'm an engineer.
A well-dressed kobold stands alone at the front of the room, shuffling note cards and sipping something that fizzes and smells awful. Clearing his throat, he begins:
Before we get into the full presentation, I'd like to thank the organization for their feedback on our ‘Precious’ prototype. We've incorporated numerous improvements to our design process as a direct result of that feedback, most prominently the consideration of crew members larger than kobolds. We do ask, however, that you please save any questions related to the unconventional layout of the tank to the end. I believe we'll be able to answer your questions during the presentation.
Our Reliant 'B' prototype. The 'A' variant has been cannibalized for parts and the engine returned to Infernal Armories after numerous complaints about it's, ah, appetite. Plus, from this view, it almost looks like a normal tank.
You asked for a new light tank design with unparalleled speed, visibility, and enough armor to survive any unfortunate engagements with the enemy, while also carrying sufficient firepower to eliminate any targets of opportunity that may present themselves.
With the Reliant B prototype, we feel we have the answer to your problems.
No photographers were harmed in the making of this pitch.
First, speed: The Reliant can reach a top speed of just over 40 mph forward and (while slow to accelerate) 36 mph backwards as well. Using the M89 engine means the Reliant accomplishes this through nonmagical methods, so that even in the case of an antimagic field, the tank remains mobile.
Driving around our proving grounds.
Regarding engines- this prototype is equipped with the M89 8-cylinder option. We found the slightly reduced engine power was an acceptable tradeoff after an intern on a tour with Infernal Armories was nearly consumed by their prototype. Using the lighter engine allowed us to add additional armor, resulting in better protection for minimal loss of speed. Luckily, the intern survived with no detectable loss of brainpower.
Upper view- note the oversized rear engine deck, forward fuel tanks, and offset exhaust.
Coupling the high speed with twin 10 speed transmissions gives the tank excellent turning performance at speed, and while the unconventional layout makes turning in place something of a misnomer, it is capable of it.
100% MORE TANK PER TRACK UNIT THAN OUR COMPETITORS
As this is a scout tank, visibility is a top priority- we've set up the driver position with three linked view ports giving a 90 degree clear view to the front, supplemented by two additional side periscopes. For night driving, six lights cover the full 180 degree arc to the front. In the turret, the commander's cupola is equipped with a separate spotlight, and a further 4 lights are attached covering the front arc of the turret- the multiple lights and coverages allow the crew to look in separate directions regardless of day or night conditions. The risk of being spotted by the enemy was deemed minimal considering the engine is loud enough to be heard from nearly a mile away- this tank relies on speed, not stealth, to accomplish its mission. The tank carries a crew of only 3- a dedicated driver, a combination gunneloader, and commanderadioman. While multiple roles can be difficult in combat, we've left as much space as possible for each crewman to avoid cramping them too much.
6 hull lights, 4 turret lights, 1 cupola light. Definitely not subtle, but at least you can see where you're going, where you've been, and where your friends are.
An internal 550 liter tank gives a reasonable combat radius, but the addition of 300 liters of additional fuel in quick-detachable external tanks significantly extends the range, allowing longer scout missions without increasing the size of the vehicle.
Excellent view of the forward tanks, taken after a mishap during hill climb trials.
To reduce the risk of being immobilized in enemy territory, a complete set of replacement road wheels and idlers are mounted on the fenders, with additional spare track links. Use of small bogie style suspension allows the crew to perform the maintenance themselves, even if they're all kobolds. Not that unlike torsion bar suspensions, ours is entirely outside the vehicle- provided you can at least get the rear of the vehicle on jacks or blocks, you can fix it without need heavy equipment.
Extra road wheels/idler wheels (identically sized for supply chain commonality)
Armor is still fairly thin, but for a light tank it's an efficient layout. We’ve managed to meet the 17mm protection request, at least for sides and rear of both turret and hull, without exceeding the weight limit. Hull frontal thickness is approximately 73mm all over, with side and rear armor of 18mm for both hull and turret- note that the turret front is actually slightly less well protected, at only 69mm. The bottom is protected by only 10mm plate. The hull top plate was increased to 12 mm, and the turret top increased to 18mm due to the high risk of attack by enemy aircraft. Use of the tank's incredible visibility is strongly encouraged to avoid minefields, as even light antipersonnel mines are likely to penetrate the lower hull.
The turret is equipped with the ToM104 3” field gun, primarily for the versatility offered by the wide selection of ammunition types. Carrying only 55 rounds (15 in the turret ready rack, 40 in the hull) means you won't be engaging in long, drawn out fights, but gives enough capacity to pack a few of each type of round to ensure you can pick off any lightly defended targets you find- storage caches, convoys, command posts, etc. A cupola machine gun is mounted above the turret for the commander, and a coaxial machine is also fitted for cases where the main gun is low on ammo.
Main gun, coax MG, and cupola MG.
Now, to address the layout- yes, we're aware that tanks generally have treads running the full length of the tank, but frankly we determined through testing that it simply wasn't necessary and added too much weight to the tank. Instead, we fitted much shorter tracks to the rear section and replaced the forward portion with an extended skid plate. Interestingly, this configuration actually improved step climb performance (from almost nothing to clearing the 0.75m step) and had no impact on hill climb, keeping the original 40 degree target from our internal specifications for light tanks.
Clearing the 0.75m step- a small running start is required.
Not just clearing the 40 degree slope, but catching air at the top.
Altogether, this tank provides the complete package- speed, visibility, protection, and enough firepower to handle light targets. Reliance on magic is minimized to avoid complicated maintenance requirements, and in fact an anti magic field will have almost no effect on the tank.
Superior hill climb performance means a squadron can strike or disengage through paths many would consider impossible terrain, like this prototype cresting the steep slopes adjacent to the shore on our proving grounds.

Out of character notes:
Once again, thanks to u/28th_Stab_Wound for putting on the contest, it's been a blast building these things and being able to exercise a bit of an unconventional flair on the design side. If at any time these pitches become too outlandish for the lore you're working towards, let me know and I'll tone it down. For now, though, I'm just having fun :D
Thanks to u/Terianis for allowing me to include the Infernal Armories reference, and for the inspiration to attempt this absolutely ridiculous hill climb test- I'm still flabbergasted by the things we can climb with the traction changes lately, and the fact that I can make a 9 ton tank with skinny little tracks covering less than half the length of the tank climb a hill like that is just bonkers.

While the Reliant can't compete with IA's entry, it can climb the lesser portion of the slopes by the waterfall at the shore.
Seconds from disaster- this is what happens you challenge a tank driven by a construct engine fueled by the flesh and souls of its enemies.
Disaster imminent
Even inverted, the sole hatch is still accessible!

2023.05.29 04:30 AngryCrowTF Puppy has intense seperation anxiety, and I'm very nervous

Girlfriend and I adopted a puppy from a rescue org at a young age. No one else was taking him, and he had some work I was glad to do with him. I've gone very hard on training and he's gradually gotten to be an amazing dog. He's six months, and his basic commands are solid (recall at the dog park is basically his only shortcoming). However, I have to leave for work for a year, and my partner is far more permissive with him. I worry that he isn't going to listen to her. On top of that, he has intense seperation anxiety. He doesn't destroy things, but if he isn't asleep he is whining or barking. Kongs don't help. Puzzles and sprays don't help. The problem is a neighbor complained to our landlord immediately, so our ability to condition him to remain calm has been limited. If he wakes up we have to book it home or else we get threatened. And as a result, he's been reinforced that screaming gets him his way.
I'm basically at my wits end. I'm debating just giving him to my retired parents because I am in a position where I can't do this last piece of crucial training, and pretty soon if not already, behaviors are going to set.
Just a rant post I guess, but if anyone has any suggestions I'll take them. I really love this dog, and have been doing my best to use emotional distance from him to reward only good behavior, but I'm pretty upset about this. I've been on the verge of screaming at him because I worry we will be evicted or something. And the neighbor is stressed over a professional test they are constantly studying for, so I get it. But I just feel held hostage by him and resentment is starting to build.

I saw on TikTok Kim’s comment about Rob having a son or the Kardashian name dies out.
I find it unbelievable that: 1. She would put that kind of pressure on her brother who struggles with depression and mental illness.
  1. That with all of the money and power and MARRIAGES she has been through she still believes in such old fashion views of things. Dream doesn’t have to change her last name, in fact none of the kids do.
I have done some deep dives into this family and I keep seeing how their generational trauma is misogyny. They are not “girl bosses”

2023.05.29 04:30 SinisterPengu I’m going insane

It's been thirty six days without Synapse, I can’t stop shaking and I’m having severe mental breakdowns. I woke up today trying to log onto Synapse but the servers were down, I had a major panic attack but managed to calm down after a few hours. I couldn’t go to school today, I am so worried that I even took my dad's gun from the shed, thinking of killing myself. I am nothing without Synapse, it is my life, it is my destiny, without Synapse, I wouldn't be able to do anything. Synapse is the best thing ever made and I can't get rid of my addiction to it, it is the best game in existence. I can't stop trembling and crying, I am very worried. I can't reach top one hundred in chimes. I can't layer two farm, I am trembling more than the marleyans experienced when the rumbling was around. Shivering in fear of losing my ability to do hell mode. I am so scared that I might lose my mind and go insane. I want Synapse back.

2023.05.29 04:30 Elite_937 Got a question about Tek Generators

So i got a question about them generators. Making a cool creative base in the Ragnarok waterfall cave, powering it up, and found the pulse generator range. I cant find any related material to the Pulse generator, and i’m just curious what makes it different. Also the pulsing affect is a bit annoying. It turns off eventually, but it’s a little annoying. Also if enough people want it, i’ll show off the base.

2023.05.29 04:29 Awakening_Light Capitalism Conflicts With Democracy

  1. Capitalism is based on the private ownership of resources and the pursuit of profit. In a capitalist system, wealth tends to concentrate in the hands of a few individuals or corporations, leading to significant wealth and power inequality. This concentration of economic power undermines the democratic principle of political equality, as those with greater wealth have more influence over the political process, such as through campaign contributions or lobbying efforts. This unequal distribution of economic power can result in the wealthy exerting disproportionate influence over public policy, undermining the will and interests of the majority.
  2. Democracy relies on the principle of political participation, ensuring that citizens have the ability to engage in the political process and influence decision-making. However, capitalism can limit political participation by prioritizing economic power over political power. In a society where access to resources and opportunities is heavily influenced by wealth, those with fewer economic means may face barriers to participating fully in the democratic process. This can lead to a situation where the interests and concerns of marginalized or economically disadvantaged groups are not adequately represented in the political sphere.
  3. Capitalism emphasizes the market-driven allocation of goods and services based on supply and demand. This approach can lead to the commodification of certain public goods that are essential for democratic societies. For example, education, healthcare, and access to basic utilities are crucial for the well-being and equal opportunity of citizens. However, in a purely capitalist system, these goods may be treated as commodities rather than rights, potentially leading to unequal access based on an individual's ability to pay. This undermines the democratic principle of equal opportunity and limits social mobility.
  4. Capitalism often prioritizes short-term profits and shareholder value. While this focus can drive economic growth, it leads to decisions that prioritize immediate gains over long-term societal and environmental considerations. This can create negative externalities, such as environmental degradation or labor exploitation, which may conflict with democratic values and the broader interests of society. In a democratic system, there is a need to balance the interests of various stakeholders, including workers, consumers, and the environment, which may require regulations and safeguards that go beyond profit maximization. Why should the interests of shareholders be weighed against the will of the people? Much less valued equally.

2023.05.29 04:29 Robonga Accountability requires courage

Unfortunately we have witnessed another example of how the folks involved in the Rust project allow a culture of “back channels” and “out groups”. The people involved in the highest level of leadership do not self-police in a productive fashion.
Why are people associated with The Rust Project’s leadership always so opaque about who is responsible? Why are we always hearing about one “individual” acting without the permission of “leadership”?
In order to have actual accountability of people’s actions, which JT suggests is the root of the sickness we are witnessing in the leadership teams you need to have courage to stand up to others. We need to condemn the actions of those who act outside their station. You need to have the courage to name and shame when required. In this case, the individual who messaged @rabidferret claiming to represent the consensus of the project should be ejected from their position of power. That is what accountability entails - consequences. I urge those still involved to stand up for what Rust is supposed to be about: openness, inclusivity, and respect.
