Basically what the title says. How it seems like it works right now is that the mmr of other players in your lobbies fall inside a range of 'Your own mmr' +/- 'some variance value'. I think you should be able to decide that variance value in the settings menu, or at least shift it around between a minimum and maximum that Blizzard thinks is acceptable e.g. between 3 and 10 divisions. That way if someone wants faster queue times, they can increase the range and widen the pool of potential players but if they feel the games have skill differences that are too wide they can narrow it down, which will lengthen the queue times. You should be able to choose a different variance value for each competitive mode, and also one for each role in role queue.
While this may potentially lead to an overall increase in queue times if a large enough body of people choose a division range lower than it is currently, I think this would improve the game-feel. Furthermore, you will never please everyone with a particular value, some people will always feel the times are too long, or the skill gaps too wide, but leaving it up to the player base to sort out will defuse some of the frustration that it seems they have been feeling about these perceived issues, I think. To incentivize responsible use of this feature, I also think the most popular range value should come recommended so that those that don't want to think about it, or are not frustrated, do not see too much of a perceived change in game quality or queue times.

Also, totally separate issue but I think in group queues, if someone is unable to play a certain role due to skill differences, I think it should be clear what the skill gap is and what it needs to close to. I think, among friends, this would not be particularly toxic and would relieve some unnecessary frustration.

I’ve been considering grabbing a decent prime lens for my A7C since I have a zoom lens already. But just considering how much I want to spend altogether on photography, I’ll need to decide if I want to spent money on an expensive 50mm prime lens or get a cheaper one. I was working at one of the top IT firms in India. I had to leave the job because they were paying too less, forcing me to come to work without any hike (what's the point of going to office if entire salary will be spent on transportation and rent), and I also had to prepare for exam. Anyway, they had assigned me a project on "PeopleSoft". I did basic setup tasks and security roles. That's maybe just level 2 or 3 out of 10(what others were doing in project). I was a fresher. Now, after working for 2 yrs, I had to leave job. As I am preparing for the exam, I also am looking for jobs. But there aren't any jobs related to PeopleSoft. I have thought of changing my technology entirely. I am thinking of searching for data science/ analysis jobs. Currently I am studying Microsoft excel, VBA, SQL, Power BI, and tableau using the video lessons. But I have no softwares to practice all of this.(they all are too expensive)

Just saw the Comprehensive CHIMPS Tier List, and how is Glaive Lord the worst in the game? Like, I know that it has some issues, but it's always been a top performer for me, carrying me through most of my CHIMPS runs. It has good aoe in the early game and absolutely destroys many of the worst rounds in the late game. And they rank it lower than Benjamin on a mode that bans income and multiple towers that you literally cannot afford in CHIMPS? I can see them being bad, maybe even C tier. But their current ranking makes absolutely no sense to me.
I read the justification sheet, but it basically didn't say anything about why it was bad, just that it was "barely useable", "shafted by tiny range and weakness to fortified superceramics", and "an unnecessary cost", none of which actually explain anything. It can permastall MOABs and fortified ceramics on Round 90 with only jungle drums, and the sheet doesn't actually go into why it is so bad, instead just stating it 5 ways with slightly different phrasings. And while it might be my bias, since it's one of my favorite paths in the whole game, none of their criticisms really seem true.
Seriously, can someone please tell me how Glaive Lord is so bad that Dark Champion is somehow more useful than Glaive Lord without even being available to buy?

I’ve learned a lot about myself in the past year and have made a lot of healing progress, but I don’t know how to keep improving while my life is a mess.
I’ve been unemployed for so long now that it feels doubtful I can get my career back. And I work in the entertainment industry, so for the time being job openings don’t even exist. This is honestly devastating to me because the work is so important to me (I think creativity is a lifeline for a lot of us) and I worked so hard to make any progress in my career at all.
My social life is suffering. I have nothing going on in my life besides dealing with trauma so I feel like I either bring people down or I’m just fake. I’m spending more time isolated and feel like no one actually knows me. It feels like friends increasingly don’t want to be around me and the rejection is crushing but I also can’t even blame them at this point.
As best as I’ve been able to figure out, I’ve been structurally dissociated and my nervous system dysregulated for 25 years. I know my real personality is still in there because I’ve been coming out of dissociation for like one day per month. And it feels absolutely amazing but rarely lasts longer than the day before something triggers me. I don’t even notice if I’m triggered now because I’m so constantly stressed and fearful about the future.
Most days now I spent glued to the couch with nothing motivating me and burnt out beyond what I thought was possible. And it’s only a matter of time before I just run out of money. I’m better equipped to fix my life if I’m out of dissociation, but my life is too unstable for me to keep myself from the dissociative state I’ve been in 2/3 of my life. And the brain fog is so thick it’s like a solid. How do you continue to heal when you’re currently in a high-stress/traumatic situation? How do I convince my nervous system I’m safe when in many ways I’m not?

Ever since Dressrosa Usopp has been flanderized. His only role in the story since dressrosa is to point stuff out and freak out about it. I recently rewatched Zou. and all he did was scream and cry. He was a detrament in the raid he even went so far as to try to deminish Nami' s resolve in the battle vs Ulti. He has been useless in the current arc in the manga once again and I dont see any improvement coming.

I've been using fire starters and a chimney for awhile but have been considering investing in a blow torch simply for ease of use to start fire.

I want to apply for an ACS skills assessment, but during my time with my current employer I have two different roles that fit different ANZSCO codes (one fits 261111 ICT Business Analyst, and the other fits 261311 Analyst Programmer).
Wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation. Is this fine if I lodge both codes in the application and reference letter? It never mentions anything about having multiple ANZSCO codes.

Why rebalance?
To some people, although it is extremely strong in competitive sixes due to near exclusive use of projectiles, the B.A.S.E. Jumper is a prime example of competitive sixes balance not working in the slightest in regular 12v12 gameplay. With it halving your air control while deployed and not even allowing you to reopen it after deploying it once, it ends up being nearly completely useless.

Hello I am currently living in Sauk Rapids (st cloud suburb) and I am looking at moving to Minneapolis for several reasons.
One of my reasons is because I want to have a more walkable city, because I like to walk. In addition it would be nice to have more todo in town because there isn’t much around here.
I am wondering if there are any major differences between the cities I should be aware of, either positive or negative.

I lurk here because I am literally the only person in my family that doesn't have adhd (I have traits, but avoided the full diagnosis upon being tested). Father, all of my siblings and husband all have it, my MIL and SIL haven't been tested, but I would bet my next paycheque they have it. I still laugh at the irony it.
So I'm 99% certain my 5 year old daughter has it too, and I need help when talking to her.
Husband's ADHD is so bad when he is unmedicated that he will lose track of conversation mid-sentence if I am not actively touching him or have a sharp tone of voice or it's something he considers actively interesting/pressing. I could usually get one sentence in, but more than that and I'd see his eyes unfocus and start to wander unless I give him a tap or make him look at me. I'll usually add a slight edge to my tone to get his attention and he does not take it personally - he knows he needs this.
Medicated (vyvanse), he can follow conversation or instructions without issue. It drove me absolutely bonkers prior to him being medicated because we'd fall into a cycle of me telling him something, him not even processing it, me repeating myself 2-3x before I ended up yelling and then he would be able to register it.
Five year old appears to have the same problem. When she was younger, it was less of an issue, because EVERYTHING is shiny and interesting, but now it's starting to manifest the same way my husband's does and I'm at a loss.
We're still on the long waitlists for pediatric evaluations (docs did not want to put her on it at 4 years old until I highlighted the family history and described her highly focused behaviour), and so medication prescription will not be available for at least another year, and the free therapy that comes with a dx won't be available until then either.
But we're getting the point where she'll ask me questions (about anything really... bugs she sees, social behaviour she wants to understand, etc) and she cannot process my responses most of the time unless I stop what I'm doing, bend down to her level, and say it very clearly face to face. Or if I give any sort of instructions without saying her name, making sure she's looking at me and then making her repeat after me, she just cannot process it. She'll stare at me blankly with a confused expression or repeat "what" several times.
Otherwise she's incredibly smart and learns very quickly (haha, she has no problems processing youtube o.o), it's not an intellectual disability. I am not in a position to physically touch her all the time (trying to bend down and talk to a kid like this on public transit is not safe really), I can't snap at her without her getting anxious and upset. I know I am speaking clearly and understandably because I'll have other individuals (often further away than she is) be able to confirm they heard me clearly. (hell, my job is highly communication based, I know I'm being clear, which is probably why I'm feeling extra emotional about it).
It's the inattentive adhd doing its' thing. At the moment, I can repeat myself in a normal tone 4-6x and she will still not understand me/process whatever I'm saying, but if I use a sharp, angry tone, she understands me right away. I hate it. I don't want to be constantly yelling at my kid to get anything done. I know it's the stress response making her brain spin into a gear because there's suddenly a "threat" (mom being upset) and I hate having to use that, but I do not have the ability to get down on her level, stare into her eyes and answer every random question she fires at me like that every single time, nor if I need her to do something (like move over so she's not blocking the sidewalk or about to do something dangerous). I also don't want to shut down her asking questions.
If we're at home and I have nothing else on the go, then sure I can give her that kind of focused attention, but on the go, with another kid to wrangle as we're walking from place to place, or while I'm in the middle of chores.... it just doesn't work. I praise her a lot when she does things right and she will recite the correct way to do things often ("we're getting on the bus, we're going to tap our card, I'm going to sit on a seat, you're going to put the brakes on the stroller and we're going to go FIVE stops to [destination], then I will get off the bus and wait on the sidewalk while you get off the bus with baby"), which I think is her reinforcing the routines to herself.
Did ANYTHING work to improve your processing abilities as a child? Any tips? Or general advice?
My husband's parents were in complete denial that he had ADHD so he doesn't know what could be done (he got yelled at all the time) and my dad/siblings were all more hyper than inattentive.

Currently in the middle of one of the worst flare ups I have had yet at a very inconvenient time (surprise surprise…) Recently went off of hydrocortisone as it appeared it didn’t help me at any point of use & possibly made my personal condition worse? Following this l went through a period of the most painful and terrifying-looking skin flare ups of my life. (Textbook TSW, though I don’t want to self-diagnose.) Top 5 worst experiences of my life honestly. I was incredibly proud and happy when this faded back to the usual uncomfortable but bearable eczema symptoms I usually experience. Unfortunately, those around me don’t share any of my joy.
Instead, they complain frequently about how “awful” my skin looks and berate me for “not getting better.” As summer makes it more and more difficult to cover the worst areas, I continually hear comments about the appearance of my symptoms (despite the fact my pain is quartered.) I don’t mean to over complain, but these constant comments aren’t the greatest for my MH. They always come from people highly under-educated about eczema and how it works, and it’s incredibly infuriating. I understand WHY they are so upset, but easy solutions in their eyes are very hard for me. Something like “stop scratching” can take up all of my focus and cause a lot of stress in practice. These comments only function to make me insecure- yes I KNOW what it looks like. I have eyes.
To the redditors of the eczema sub: Any ideas how I can better handle these comments? Any ideas how I can better cover and care for my skin in an environment such as a very hot&humid job scene or a water park? Most importantly: how do y’all deal with making your skin less red/noticeable? FYI the worst parts are on my wrists, elbows, & hands esp my fingers.

Hi Reddit, as of writing this intro, this all literally just took place. I immediately went here to share my experience, because I might loose some sleep tonight over this.
I live on the second story of an apartment building and my bed is against my window, so I can frequently hear people talking outside. Most of the time, it's the kids playing soccer or our downstairs neighbors talking, but I never hear anything past 8 pm. Currently, it is 10:10 as of writing this, and I can hear a little boy from my window. I checked outside and I can't see anyone, but the voice sounds like it's coming from directly below me. I can hear sirens in the distance, so at first I thought it was a part of the siren. I'm sure of it now though, I can distinctly make out what the boy is saying, "Mom!"
That's it, that's all he says. At first I paid no attention to it, but it's been servral minutes now, and I've started to notice some strange things. Firstly, his tone never changes. It's as if someone recorded this voice and is playing it on repeat. He says "Mom!" every 5 seconds or so without skipping a beat. Second, the boy has been saying this over and over for the past 10 minutes and still hasn't changed his tone or received a response from anyone, not even his mother. It's as if no one else can hear him shouting except for me.
Originally I wasn't going to post this, but it is now a few minutes later and something happened. He kept going on, as per usual, but then I heard another voice. A faint yet dominant, "No." It was a male voice, raspy and toned. I listened in, expecting to hear the boys voice again, but I hear nothing. Just the wind.

I’m currently reworking CC into book form and I have to drastically limit the power of time travel because it’s a mess. Instead of two random time turners, there will only be one special time turner of special origin that is different than the original turners. After the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, the destroyed time turners and their sand are jinxed by Voldemort so that his presence will forever be alerted when the sand is used. The time turners are then collected and disposed of improperly, so that they end up at Malfoy Manor. Scorpius comes across it after having read the book The Sands of Time. The book includes these details:
The origin of the timer sand is with Nicholas Flamel. The sand is red and gold from experiments perfecting the Philosopher’s Stone, as it had to stop time in your body as it kept moving. Time turning sand is very temperamental and burns up on use so you only get a certain amount of time whenever you go to. Consequently, Albus Dumbledore paired it a Hour-Reversal Charm which is dangerously unstable. When put together they become stable and reusable, but only able to go back hours at a time. Just as apparating can cause splinching, meeting yourself directly causes mental splinching. Having multiple time streams altered simultaneously causes reality splinching.
This is what Dumbledore’s “work on alchemy with his partner, Nicolas Flamel” would refer to in his chocolate frog card. As Nicolas Flamel would have already been around 600 when he met Dumbledore, this would make so much more sense. If Dumbledore was one of the only people who knew about the time turner’s having made them with Flamel, he could have been the one to have secretly given it to McGonagall to give to Hermione, and been the one to hide them in the ministry, which is why Voldemort never knew about them. If the kids use raw sand in the Cursed Child, it raises the stakes of time travel, and drastically limits it, even making it burn up by the end so it could never be used again
