I have a dear Friend who moved into our apartment complex after a time of housing insecurity. We advocated for this friend to get them into our close-knit small apartment unit because we knew they would be good for rent and we could support each other by being in the same building. Overall it's been wonderful save for one thing.
Friend has a really sweet senior Shiba Jack Russel terrier mix named Jack. We genuinely love Jack, but since Friend has been going to work in a new job, Jack mournfully howls every. single. time. Friend leave for work- and their bedroom where Jack chills shares a wall with ours. For the past couple of months pretty consistently jack howls for 15-25 minutes when Friend leaves and wakes me up an hour and a half or so before my alarm. I work retail and I'm a designer and really need my sleep to recharge from human interaction lol.
Friend knows this and we have been brainstorming solutions. Friend rides a motorcycle that is parked right outside their window and we discovered that Jack hearing the bike was upsetting him (he loves to ride with Friend) so Friend will push their bike out of the alley to the street before starting and Jack will still bark and howl. Jack is not food motivated so a snuffle treat mat and peanut butter in a Kong have not provided real distraction. We put an audio book on while Friend is gone so it's not quiet and still no luck. Jack obviously is just very distressed by Friend's leaving- previously Friend did not live alone. Friend is very good about walking Jack and getting him outside before and after work.
I feel bad because this is putting a strain on our relationship. Jack has been registered as an emotional support animal which is how he could get in in the first place in our dog-free building. I've noticed lately now that it's warmer and the windows are open Jack is even MORE sensitive to other noises. I've heard him barking at my other neighbors when they are parking, when people come & go in the building, and even at times when I'm playing a podcast through our speaker system in our place. I am growing increasingly worried that our other neighbors (who do not have a friendship with Friend) will start to complain. Since Friend does not have much money and had struggled to get into an apartment, there's been a lot of stress about this.
Can anyone with experience offer some advice? Anyone had a similar situation you were able to resolve? The only thing I can think of is that Friend already wanted a cat... I want to be like GET THE CAT NOW so Jack isn't as lonely lol. Thank you!

I play Minecraft on PS5. I've repeatedly been having a glitch where I get stuck underwater, and it won't let me swim up. If I hold x to swim up, I stay still, and if I let go of x I'll sink as if I'm holding a button to swim down.
This 100% is not being caused by the buttons on the controller getting stuck; this is an issue that only ever happens when underwater in Minecraft. I'd say it happens about 1 in every 10 times I go under water.
Sometimes, it'll go back to normal after a few seconds. I've tried things like placing a block or opening my inventory, but it seems entirely random when/if it'll let me swim up.
I've lost so much stuff on survival worlds this way :( and am essentially forced to avoid water.
Does anyone know about this glitch, and what I can do to stop it from happening?

I’m an AO in civil service currently and received a provisional offer for a graduate scheme in another government department last Thursday however the offer didn’t give me any idea of what location the job would be based at. I understand this is the norm when vacancies have multiple locations however only one of them is in Scotland.
When filling out my preference and reiterating them at assessment I made clear I would only accept the Scottish location despite this having significantly less postings.
My worry is that I have potentially been offered a different location as I only put down one very limited preference, has anyone ever encountered this before?

My dog is 1 year old and refuses to leave his kennel besides to be on the couch or in my bedroom. He refuses to play or walk around the house unless there is a rug, though he destroyed the last one I had. M34 5'8 169 lbs, south Asian. No known health conditions. Since COVID few years ago I've always had a tiny bit of ringing in my ears. It doesn't bother me but it's always there. Ever since I started using noise cancelling wireless earbuds few weeks, my ears now also rumble once I take them off. The best way I can explain is if you took a drum head from a drum kit and flapped it in the air, that's what it low-key feels like is happening to my ear drums. All of a sudden I find myself being affected by low frequency vibrations around me. I should also mention that I'm a DJ and I get exposed to loud speakers atleast once or twice a month for few hours each night. I've tried using ear protection such as those Loop filters. But that just makes me hear my tinnitus louder. My ears sort of feel like underwater these days varying degrees all the time. My hearing seems to be fine.

I recently bought some new hardware to upgrade on my PC. Specifically RAM and and new GPU. I have been experiencing the apparently very common “Video TDR failure (nvlddmkm.sys)” and I feel like I’ve exhausted every option.
Here’s my PC specs before upgrading: MOBO: MSI Z170 Krait Gaming 3x CPU: Intel i7- 6700 GPU: NVIDIA 1060 6Gb RAM: 16Gb (2x8)
I added in a refurbished GPU from EVGA: GeForce RTX3060 12Gb XC Gaming and RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 64Gb (2x32).
I’m new to PC building/upgrading and a friend helped me see that the RAM was overclocked for my MOBO but I changed that in the BIOS and it runs fine when I swapped back to my old GPU.
The refurbished GPU doesn’t seem to be the problem either as I fitted it into my wife’s PC and it works without issues, which her mother board was an ASUS ROG Strix B360i gaming board.

What if the Yellowjackets Is like that one movie series "Final Frontier" meaning, the next season each of the main characters will die 1 by 1, tragically but by "accident" when really what's killing them is the "wilderness" or AKA death itself. I mean think about it, they basically escaped death?! That was a crazy plane crash, and first Travis died, "by an accidental suicide" because the button broke, then Nat died because Misty accidently killed her!
In final frontier, they escaped death by way of a plane crash, and death caught up to them, killing them all in "accidental ways" then, I thought it was interesting that Nat was back on the plane when she was dying, and Lottie said "let it in" like let death/the wilderness in, because she had been running from it for to long.
I think the way they die will also be parallels, to past events that happened out there. Like how Travis died gasping for air, Javi died trying to get air because he was drowning, (maybe a stretch idk) Nat died by someone she trusted, after Javi died by someone he trusted.

For context: I’ve been diagnosed with anxiety and depression since 2021, although I’m sure I’ve had both since I was young. I have a feeling though that in recent years, it has grown to be more social. I’m not entirely sure because I don’t feel anxious about talking to people but more of…I have a massive dislike of attention, even in simple, small ways. Here are a few examples:

• I don’t like posting on social media bcus I don’t want people to know where I am or what I’m doing (even if I enjoy posting photos and videos, I stopped because of feeling disturbed)

Hi everyone! I have an appointment to get my Mirena inserted in about a week. At my previous appointment, my OBGYN was not able to insert the mirena due to my cervix opening being too tight. She suggested another appointment with an ultrasound tech examining the insertion to ensure that it was being placed safely. The ultrasound is not covered by my insurance but I am willing to pay if it means that the insertion will go smoothly. My question is, has anyone else gone through this as well? me and my partner have been together three years and have had occasionally consistent sex i would say, but of course the quality of it has deteriorated and the frequency soon followed after. i was always fucked in the head wanting sex since before i even knew what it was, so i would say i’ve had a high libido post-puberty and it hasn’t dwindled. i was raped about 4 years ago by my female former friend and the experience i feel altered how i accept physical enthusiasm from my partner now. my partner has a much lower sex drive comparatively, so whenever we do have sex it seems like i take the wheel and they’re just enjoying the performance. it feels like any time i bring it up they get upset now, but i’m moreso concerned for their well-being. i don’t want to have sex with someone just doing it for me, but they swear they enjoy the time. they typically dress up right afterwards, and we just go about doing things as before, regardless if they cum or not. i feel very lonely, i don’t even try that hard to initiate sex now because i know i’ll feel awful from the lack of aftercare, like they really just don’t wanna be here doing this to begin with. they’ve talked about how they found sex sacred before but it seems like it’s just another activity for them and it’s been sending me to a lot of dark places lately. particularly, the rape and the confusion i felt from someone being so in love with me they would try to speak in my love language without me being even ready to hear. i don’t find comfort in the situation at all, but sometimes i wish my partner would treat me like that instead of the way i am right now.
am i severely fucked for thinking this way? rape has always nauseated me prior to what happened to me, but the desire for my partner to desire me more is making me think about that experience a lot more frequently and so when their sex drive ramps up randomly every now and then i get flashbacks sometimes because i’m confused at their sexual enthusiasm. there’s so much to communicate that i don’t know if they’re ready to hear, but i am running out of ideas and i feel like at three years we should not have to be going through this as adults.

Just a short backstory: Few months ago, there's this girl I really liked. I was crazy for her. She also liked me back but we were still scared in commiting to relationship so we didn't took it to the next level. We're just friends but a little flirty to each other sometimes. Few months later, she told me with full honesty that she liked me because she was just lonely and it was convenient for her. I was shattered but not that fully shattered cause was kinda expecting that since I've always thought that no one would ever take me seriously. 3 months later, I've focused more on improving myself. Fixing my attitude, mannerisms, and learning to properly communicate with others. Overall, I think I'm improving my personality slowly. I just told myself that we don't need to rush things. I even promised myself that I would never fall in love for now,, and maybe try it again a different time. Although, I think I just broke a promise to myself.
There's this girl in our class that peeks my interest. She's a lone wolf type. Independent but approachable. She's always eager to learn. We've interacted sometimes. Back then I don't really see her like how I see her now. I didn't really care about the girls in class because I was crazy for the first girl. Sometimes, this girl just randomly crosses my mind. There's a voice in my head saying, "I want to know her more". I personally think that this is just a small crush or something.
I'm not planning to tell her how I feel anytime sooner cause that would probably creep her out. I'm also not planning to tell my other classmates cause they're not to be trusted with these kinds of stuff.

I got the download when in the shower. Heard the word “poachers” then saw an image of a gang of people body slamming another person and tying her up with rope and putting tape on her mouth. It’s almost like spirit was referring to human traffickers as poachers because of how they treat other human beings like animals.
I did my best to clarify the download with the cards and follow up with some research on the subject. This is not my usual speed. But this is what my spirit team asked me to focus on today. In case there is anyone out there who can provide added support to the victims at this time

tldr upfront: Does anybody know of brake reach extensions for SRAM Rival 22 rim brakes? If there are none, can I combine Shimano BR-R451 brake bodies with SRAM Rival 1 brake levers?
I finished building my first custom bike today, but didn't know that there are short and long reach rim brakes. As I built a Single Speed / Fixed Gear bike (Flip-Flop-hub) out of an 80s Batavus Criterium road bike frame, I wanted to use rim brakes in the beginning. First I found out that there are different pull ratios, now I found out that there are bikes that require long reach brakes - sadly both through buying parts that I will probably never use... I discovered that SRAM does not offer a single rim brake model with a longer reach, therefore I am in a pretty annoying situation as I already installed the hoods, brakes and cables and also wrapped the bars. I tried searching for brake reach extensions but could only find some for Shimano. So I tried searching for similar Shimano brake levers without shifter paddles but couldn't find any (that don't look very cheap). So now I am wondering if I can combine the Shimano BR-R451 with the SRAM Rival 1 levers that are already installed.
At this point I just want to start riding the bike and am looking to not spend another couple hundred bucks on it, as it already is way more expensive than I planned...
I'd be very grateful for any advice that you guys can give me as I am very much out of my depth at this point (all my other bikes are modern frames and I thankfully never had to worry about something like this). So thank you so much in advance!
