2023.06.08 21:24 JayPolar91 I can count the number of happy memories in the last decade on one hand
32 and have been struggling since with my mental health since I was 14. About 10 years I just started getting sick all the time, most mornings and I used to wake up get sick for an hour or and go about my day. The past year it has gotten unbearable I’ve been to several doctors and the ER dozens of time’s but nobody has been able to tell me what I’m dealing with. I’m in a toxic relationship, I can’t find a job and I worry that even if I do find one that I’ll just lose it because of my health. My wife has been the one supporting me for the last 6 months which she is awesome for, we just make each other happy anymore and she deserves better. I’m just ready to throw in the towel. All my effort has been for nil and I’m in exactly the same place I was at when I was 20 and I don’t want to do it anymore just to end up miserable everyday. I’m waiting to tie up the last of my current affairs. I told my wife I was going to move out after I sell something last night, so she can at least pay rent and I can get a full tank of gas. I going to move out my stuff and then I’m going to drive to the desert and say goodbye. I hope it doesn’t take long to sell, it’s all I’ve been thinking about for weeks and I’m just ready.

2023.06.08 21:24 -AngelOfTheNorth- [Offer] 10x Vintage Postcards [UK to WW]
Flaired preferred please
Hey all! I was recently charity shop hunting, and came across a box of vintage postcards. It looks like someone had been collecting on their travels from the 60s through to the 80s. Some are very pretty, others I personally find quite funny, but there are 3x that look kinda creepy haha (nothing offensive - just weird looking - please say if you'd rather not have one of these).
Please comment with a writing prompt and PM me your address spaced with // between each new line of the address, as you would write it.

2023.06.08 21:23 Dismal-Jellyfish SEC Chair Gary Gensler: "Given that most crypto tokens are subject to the securities laws, it follows that most crypto intermediaries have to comply with securities laws as well." "In other parts of our securities markets, the exchange, broker-dealer, and clearing functions are separate."
| Source: https://www.sec.gov/news/speech/gensler-remarks-piper-sandler-060823 Before getting to Gary's speech: A DEX is an exchange and proof of delivery for assets one to one, so it is not packaging securities. That is how you or I may know it BUT.... The SEC is soliciting comments for what the 'official' definition is and based on that they will take action(s). It behooves ALL of us to to review the proposed rules: SEC Reopens Comment Period for Proposed Amendments to Exchange Act Rule 3b-16 and Provides Supplemental Information. "The reopening release reiterated the applicability of existing rules to platforms that trade crypto asset securities, including so-called “DeFi” systems" I imagine folks are going to leave comments in light of the SEC's actions on Binance and Coinbase on this proposal that would go against GME's interests in the space moving forward? I have this 165 page proposal 'down to' 61 pages I am working to try and turn into post(s) before the comment period is up next week. Unless 'we the people' tell Gary and the SEC what a DEX, exchange, security, etc. is, absent laws from congress, they are going to INTERPRET it how they please. We deserve better than that and this is our chance to say how and why on the official record. Speech: Thank you, Rich, for that kind introduction. As is customary, I’d like to note that my views are my own as Chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and I’m not speaking on behalf of my fellow Commissioners or the SEC staff. Well-regulated Markets Rich, I’m honored to speak at what I’m told is your last of a 20-year run of conferences. I’d like to focus on one area, which I think sits right at the intersection of the two things you highlight in the title of this conference—Exchanges and Fintech—and that’s crypto. The U.S. capital markets thrive because we’ve had rules of the road that have helped ensure for investor protection, transparency, and competition for 90 years—since the signing of the Securities Act of 1933. A year after signing that law, President Roosevelt worked with Congress to pass the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to regulate securities intermediaries, such as exchanges and broker-dealers. That law also created the SEC, and this past Tuesday was our 89th birthday. Crypto Securities There is nothing about the crypto securities markets that suggests that investors and issuers are less deserving of the protections of our securities laws. Congress could have said in 1933 or in 1934 that the securities laws applied only to stocks and bonds. “Congress’s purpose in enacting the securities laws was to regulate investments, in whatever form they are made and by whatever name they are called.”[1] This is not just a talking point. This is the law of the land, as Justice Thurgood Marshall wrote in the Supreme Court’s famous Reves decision. Congress included a long list of 30-plus items in the definition of a security, including the term “investment contract.” As articulated in another famous Supreme Court decision, SEC v. W.J. Howey Co.,[2] an investment contract exists when there is the investment of money in a common enterprise with a reasonable expectation of profits to be derived from the efforts of others. This test has been reaffirmed by the Supreme Court numerous times—the Court cited Howey as recently as 2019. In the Howey decision, the Court said that definition of an investment contract “embodies a flexible, rather than a static, principle, one that is capable of adaptation to meet the countless and variable schemes devised by those who seek the use of the money of others on the promise of profits.” As I’ve said numerous times, the vast majority of crypto tokens meet the investment contract test. Not liking the message isn’t the same thing as not receiving it. These tokens have teams promoting them with websites and Twitter accounts. Investors may even meet the entrepreneurs. These tokens are not coming out of thin air. They are not growing out of the ground like corn or wheat. That they’re digital doesn’t differentiate them from huge swaths of the capital markets, where securities and currencies already are digital. Satoshi Nakamoto’s innovation spurred the development of crypto assets and the underlying blockchain ledger technology. Regardless, however, of the ledger being used, be it a spreadsheet, a database, or blockchain technology, when investors put their money at risk, it’s the economic realities of the investment that matter. Thus, crypto security issuers need to register the offer and sale of their investment contracts with the SEC or meet the requirements for an exemption. For decades, we’ve had rules governing how issuers must do that. We have flexible rules for the disclosures required in registration statements—Regulation S-K and Regulation S-X—and exemptions from registration, including Regulation A or Regulation D. We’ve also provided years of guidance to market participants on what does or does not constitute a crypto asset security, including the DAO report in 2017[3] and the staff’s “Framework for ‘Investment Contract’ Analysis of Digital Assets” in 2019.[4] More than 100 Commission orders, settled actions, and court decisions also have made clear when the offer and sale of a token is a security, including our actions against Telegram,[5] LBRY,[6] and Kik.[7] In fact, we alleged just this week that Binance’s chief financial officer and chief compliance officer were aware of the Kik case’s relevance to their own business.[8] According to our complaint against Binance, as a result of the SEC’s action against Kik, Binance insiders realized that they would need to “start prepping everything” for a subpoena and Wells notice relating to their exchange token, BNB, including a “War chest.” When crypto asset market participants go on Twitter or TV and say they lacked “fair notice” that their conduct could be illegal, don’t believe it. They may have made a calculated economic decision to take the risk of enforcement as the cost of doing business. Just as in other parts of the securities markets, registration and compliance takes work— something that the debt and equity issuers at this conference know well. This is appropriate, though, because it’s the work that ensures that investors get the full, fair, and truthful disclosure they deserve. Some promoters of crypto asset securities contend that their token has a function beyond simply being an investment vehicle. As the courts in the Telegram case[9] and others[10] have said, however, some additional utility does not remove a crypto asset security from the definition of an investment contract. The investing public generally buys these crypto assets, at least in part, anticipating profit based on the efforts of those token issuers. In fact, in that famous Howey decision, the Supreme Court wrote that, if the investment contract test is satisfied, “it is immaterial whether the enterprise is speculative or nonspeculative, or whether there is a sale of property with or without intrinsic value.”[11] Still, for those tokens that are used exclusively within their blockchain ecosystems, the staff has shown willingness to provide no-action letters.[12] Crypto Intermediaries Given that most crypto tokens are subject to the securities laws, it follows that most crypto intermediaries have to comply with securities laws as well. Again, these laws have been on the books for decades. Sections 5, 15(a), and 17A(b) of the Exchange Act require that intermediaries acting as securities exchanges, brokers and dealers, and clearing agencies are subject to the securities laws, and must register or satisfy requirements for an exemption. Again, these crypto entities know the rules. As Binance’s chief compliance officer put it bluntly to a colleague in 2018, “[w]e are operating as a fking unlicensed securities exchange in the USA bro.” Registration is not just a process issue. Failure to register isn’t just a foot fault in a tennis game. It’s core to providing the investing public and our markets with basic protections. This year, we alleged in separate actions that Beaxy,[13] Bittrex,[14] Binance,[15] and Coinbase[16] commingled and unlawfully offered securities intermediation functions without registering them with the SEC. The Commission settled actions against EtherDelta in 2018[17] and Poloniex in 2021.[18] These alleged failures deprive investors of critical protections, including rulebooks that prevent fraud and manipulation, proper disclosures, segregation of customer assets, safeguards against conflicts of interest, oversight by a self-regulatory organization, and routine inspection by the SEC. When intermediaries don’t register, it’s investors who get hurt and the American financial markets that may suffer. In other parts of our securities markets, the exchange, broker-dealer, and clearing functions are separate. Separation of these core functions helps mitigate the conflicts that can arise with the commingling of such services. Rich, if one of your earlier speakers said they were combining these functions or that they were surreptitiously trading against their customers without complying with our rules, no one in this room would stand for it. I disagree with the notion—and recent history disproves it—that crypto intermediary compliance isn’t possible. I do recognize—and, again, think it’s appropriate—that it takes work. It’s not just a matter of “paying lip service to [the] desire to comply with applicable laws”[19] or seeking a bunch of meetings with the SEC during which you’re unwilling to make the changes needed to comply with the securities laws. Crypto intermediaries may need to separate lines of business, put into place rulebooks that protect against fraud and manipulation, properly segregate customer funds, mitigate conflicts, or change their approach to clearing and custody. These are the things that protect investors. The fact that they didn’t build their platforms with these things in mind shouldn’t be a free pass to put investors at risk. Each of the registered stock exchanges at this conference has done the hard work of registering and putting in place appropriate rulebooks and surveillance, and each is subject to all of our rules. We shouldn’t undermine 90 years of securities laws. As SEC Enforcement Director Gurbir Grewal said, “You simply can’t ignore the rules because you don’t like them or because you’d prefer different ones: the consequences for the investing public are far too great.”[20] Further, just last month, one firm[21] that limited their business to crypto asset securities was approved by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority as a special purpose broker-dealer.[22] It can be done. We have addressed the crypto security industry through rulemaking as well. Though many in the industry who have called for rulemaking have expressed dissatisfaction with said rulemaking. We issued a reopening release that reiterated the applicability of existing rules to platforms that trade crypto asset securities, including so-called “DeFi” systems. This release also provided supplemental information for systems that would be included in a new, proposed exchange definition.[23] While our current investment adviser custody rule already applies to crypto funds and securities, our recent proposal updating it would cover all crypto assets and enhance the protections that qualified custodians provide.[24] These are just two of the rules we’ve proposed that touch the crypto markets. Further, recognizing the risk and uncertainties related to crypto assets, the staff has stated their view on public company accounting related to crypto assets and disclosure regarding significant crypto asset market developments.[25] Lending and Staking as a Service Another prevalent feature of crypto markets is that intermediaries and promoters offer lending or staking-as-a-service programs that promise returns in exchange for investors’ crypto tokens. They have many names for their products and for their promised returns, which often are used to entice users to their platforms. Across decades of cases, though, the Supreme Court has made clear that the economic realities of a product—not the labels—determine whether it is a security under the securities laws. It doesn’t matter what kind of assets investors put into a lending or staking-as-a-service platform—cash, gold, bitcoin, or anything else. It’s what the intermediary says that they are going to do with the assets that determines what protections are provided by the law. Customers invest their assets with the platform, which then onlends them or pools and stakes them, in each case promising a return. These are classic securities, irrespective of whether crypto is involved. Again, the SEC has been clear on this for a number of years. From BitConnect[26] in 2021, BlockFi[27] in 2022, to a series of actions this year, [28] the SEC has consistently alleged that these lending and staking-as-a-service offerings need to register and provide the investing public with proper disclosures. Just this week, along with 10 states, we charged Coinbase for never properly registering the offer and sale of its staking program.[29] Conduct: Fraud, Manipulation, and Bankruptcies With wide-ranging noncompliance, frankly, it’s not surprising that we’ve seen many problems in these markets. We’ve seen this story before. It’s reminiscent of what we had in the 1920s before the federal securities laws were put in place. Hucksters. Fraudsters. Scam artists. Ponzi schemes. The public left in line at the bankruptcy court. Earlier this week, we alleged that certain Binance entities misled investors about the platform’s risk controls and its corrupted trading volumes while actively concealing who was operating the platforms, the manipulative trading of its affiliated market maker, and even where and with whom investor funds and crypto were custodied.[30] We also allege that Sigma Chain, an affiliate controlled by Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, acting as the principal market maker on Binance.US, engaged in manipulative trading and conducted wash trading that fraudulently inflated trading volumes on the platform, including around Binance.US’s launch, its subsequent funding round, and when certain new crypto security tokens were recently listed. Further, through accounts owned and controlled by Zhao and Binance, billions of dollars of customer funds from both Binance platforms allegedly were commingled into an account held by a Zhao-controlled entity, Merit Peak Limited. The allegations also describe Zhao and Binance’s attempt to evade U.S. securities laws by announcing sham controls that they disregarded behind the scenes so that they could keep high-value U.S. customers on their platforms. Our complaint quoted Binance’s chief compliance officer, who said, “On the surface we cannot be seen to have US users but in reality, we should get them through other creative means,” and that the CCO further said, “CZ will definitely agree to this lol … I have been briefed by top management to always find a way to support biz.” We also saw deception of investors by FTX.[31] We saw deception with the collapse of Terra and LUNA. Do Kwon and Terraform, we alleged, repeated false and misleading statements to build trust before causing devastating losses for investors.[32] In the case against Justin Sun and three of his companies, we alleged, among other things, a scheme to pay celebrities to tout tokens without disclosing compensation.[33] I could go on, but in a market rife with fraud, abuse, and noncompliance, there are too many to list. We’ve also seen numerous companies—before and after FTX—blow themselves up, hurting countless investors in their wake. As a result of the bankruptcies of BlockFi, Celsius, FTX, Genesis, and other crypto firms, investors often are left lining up in court. Let me be clear: These types of misconduct and bankruptcies are more likely to happen in markets whose issuers and intermediaries fail to comply with foundational laws. Even when we might not find fraud or such blatant misconduct, investors need proper disclosure, segregation of their hard-earned assets, and confidence that they are not trading against the house. Conclusion Markets ultimately are about trust. For 90 years, that trust has relied upon compliance with the securities laws. The crypto securities markets should not be allowed to undermine the well-earned trust the public has in the capital markets. The crypto markets should not be allowed to harm investors. TLDRS: - SEC Chair Gary Gensler:
- "Given that most crypto tokens are subject to the securities laws, it follows that most crypto intermediaries have to comply with securities laws as well."
- "In other parts of our securities markets, the exchange, broker-dealer, and clearing functions are separate."
- It behooves ALL of us to to review the proposed rules:

2023.06.08 21:23 WittyAd7059 why do I (19F) feel weird about my boyfriend (19M) being best friends with his ex (20F)?
My boyfriend (19M) and I (19F) became friends about a year ago as we both go to the same university. 3 months later we became FWB, realized we had feelings for each other but didn't want to date until we had both sorted out some mental health stuff. 6 months after becoming FWB, we started dating.
My boyfriend and his ex (20F) met in high school in a different country while he was a junior and she was a senior, where he has told me they were friends and he had an instant crush on her after they met, and got together shortly after. After 2 months of dating (never had sex), his ex realized she was a lesbian and broke it off. My boyfriend harbored the normal amount of negativity, but got over it quickly and they went back to being close friends. At the end of the year, his ex moved to Canada for university. She's a 5 hour train ride from where we are now.
The next year he also moves to Canada for university. I'm not sure if this was a coincidence, because both of them are international students with no ties to Canada, and so the fees are just as high as anywhere else with the same or better rankings (he's a top students and could get into higher ranking universities in the USA or UK, although he and I attend the highest ranked in Canada). But if she was part of the reason he moved, he would've applied to her university (he didnt) so idk. I accompanied my bf while we were still friends to visit her bc cheap holiday, and shes visited him. I really like her, we're good friends now and get along great.
The thing that triggered me feing weird about them was that my bf asked if, while she is visiting him while i'm overseas, if she could sleep in my bed in our house when we have a pullout couch she could use (we live in a house with 3 roommates but have separate bedrooms). Not sure why that made me feel weird, but then I started thinking about the following:
My boyfriend considers her his best friend and has since they were in highschool. He has told me that besides me, she's the girlfriend he fell hardest for and made the most effort to get with. While we were still FWB he sent me an old picture of her saying how hot she looked - this photo was before she cut her hair and isn't on her social media, which means he had kept it since they dated, and it looked like one of those hot mirror selfies you send to someone youre dating. He saves and shows me her Instagram stories when she makes a joke, and says "God why do you make me laugh so hard for huh (referring to his ex)". I've made similar jokes in the past and he doesn't find them nearly as entertaining. He also talks a lot about his visual type, which he emphasizes dark hair (which she has, mine is naturally dark but I dye it white), glasses (she wears them, I have them but don't wear them), and wearing black clothing (which she almost always does, I prefer earth tones). He jokingly listed me not having dark hair as a con in a "pros and cons of dating OP" powerpoint at my birthday party but it still stung a bit. He talks a lot about how shes going to be very relevant in his future kids' lives as their aunt. When we had communication problems and decided to post here about it for help, he called her immediately after posting it while i was asleep in a different time zone, and they went over the responses together. This was the first thing that made me feel iffy but I got over it, figuring we all talk to our best friends abt relationship problems. I'm also eerily similar to her: asian, academic, competitive, similar eyeliner style, biology relevant majors, mean to him in a joking way, similar (not very mainstream) fashion sense, wears glasses, likes to read, similar humor etc. One of my bf's friends noticed the similarities and said he "clearly had a type".
Jealousy has never been a problem for me before, even when my ex bfs were friends with their exes (although I was younger and not sexually active with them). When she visited we were still in dorms and she slept on a matress beside his bed, and i had no problems leaving them alone. I obviously don't think there's anything between them, she's not into his equipment, and i know my bf loves me. He's on of the most caring people I know and he loves his friends more than anything which could explain some of this. I have no idea why i feel weird about specifically his side of their relationship, and I don't even know if it's jealousy. Maybe I'm worried that he never really got over her and is subconciously using me as a budget filler because he knows she's not an option? tell me if I'm just super insecure.
TLDR; my boyfriend holds his unavailable ex in very high regard to the point where I'm worried I'm a low quality replacement

Not a confession but I just wanna share this disturbing experience
I am someone who doesn't believe in supernaturals but today, ive experienced the worst in my life!
I literally saw myself smiling at me! I got home at exactly 2:44am today and it happens that my family aren't home. They're on vacation and I decide to stay. My mom bought a huge mirror looking like an antique and gods knows where she bought it and placed it in our kitchen near the stairs. I was going up but i decided to take selfies, after checking the selfies in front of the mirror, I noticed that something was off. When i looked at the mirror, god i literally saw myself smiling! It took like 3seconds for me to process what was happening, and i ran out of the house. Im really scared to go in and sleep. Im currently in our balcony outside huhuhu. Please someone help mee

2023.06.08 21:23 TheRealNotSnoopDogg Curious to see how they announce the Secret Project
If I recall correctly, I thought it was mentioned that that there would be a build up of announcements before unveiling the Secret Project. Obviously the project itself is the most important, but I’m curious to see how the leadership team builds momentum and unveils it all. Seems to me this is a big time for them- investors are wanting upward price movement, there’s a lot of uncertainty in crypto in general right now (thanks SEC), yet there’s also more institutional involvement in the space than there has been.
How the ANKR team handles this will be telling. Pretty exciting stuff.

2023.06.08 21:22 Guilty-Hamster-7644 Advice on anger management
So, to keep things brief, I have schizoaffective disorder (type 1 bipola SZ) and I no longer take anti-psychotics, but I do still take lithium as a mood stabilizer. I am also autistic.
Generally my symptoms are highly manageable unless I’m manic. When I’m manic, I tend to also become, well, for lack of a better term, extremely autistic.
I’m married with 3 kids, and so keeping up with projects and chores around the house is constantly difficult. My wife and I both work but I travel with an erratic schedule and spouse is a college professor, so most of the daily chores fall to me any time I am home. This is ok, I have the free time, I should be doing the work, and when I’m on the road it ALL falls to my wife, so I’m not upset about the division of labor.
When I become manic productivity becomes extremely important to me, so I’ll get very ambitious and start working through the to do list, and this is generally fine as long as I am not disrupted. If I am disrupted, I tend to become extremely combative and angry. This is in part the autism and the tendency to fixate, in part because I’m generally not overly troubled by hallucinations unless I’m manic, and then the voices are loud and omnipresent. This makes executive function difficult enough on its own, and when distractions and obstacles are presented I become frustrated and unpleasant to be around, very sarcastic and dismissive. Being fairly hard of hearing from 20 years of working in industrial environments has also made me fairly hard of hearing, so I tend to seem like I’m yelling, wether or not I intend to raise my voice purposefully.
I’m struggling to find ways to diffuse this anger. Usually, a long walk, a half hour break to read or stand in a shower is enough space and time for me to feel contrite over my behavior and return to the situation ready to deal constructively with spouse, kids, or the problem at hand. But when I’m manic, none of these steps are especially useful, I can’t calm down. My heart rate and blood pressure stay high, I feel trapped in the fight or flight response for hours, and can’t seem to relax and regain perspective.
Does anyone here have any anger management approaches they find helpful? How do you deal with pervasive anger or feelings of panic?

2023.06.08 21:22 Weary_Fall_3975 Loneliness has triggered a depression for me
It's been more than a year since I realised that besides my family I have no one. Ever since then it feels like everything's been falling apart. I am hardly passing in school which I used to love. Engineering used to be everything for me and now I don't want to do anything. I am being more and more overwhelmed by feeling alone. I'm having the urges to harm myself.
It all got to a point where I realised that there's something wrong with me, I was diagnosed with severe depression and eventually put in the hospital for nearly 5 weeks. They changed my medication, I was released few weeks ago but it has gotten exactly where it was before or even worse.
I hate living this life.

2023.06.08 21:22 Big-Bluejay7122 Iqon AG30: not what I expected
It is a first session report.
So it happened, that I got lucky and got a near mint condition Salomon FSK skate. Strangely enough it become my most used and fav skate (I have a PS Zoom with Endless trinity 100 frame and a PS next which is too narrow for me).
So I was excited to try out the new AG30 skate from Iqon which is based on the Salomon FSK. I will try to write a more in depth comparison after I used it more, but just wanted to write a first session report.
It is not what I have expected. The AG30 boot feels really flexy, like skating in mud. My ankle felt all over the place. Not at all what I feel when skating with my FSK, that boot feels really supportive. Maybe it is the liner, maybe it needs to mold to my feet, I don't know. I will try to skate it extensively in the near future.
There are no reviews to be found yet on the net about this boot, so I am interested if anyone tried it, what was their experience.

2023.06.08 21:22 Starky_D Adding name to parents home/mortgage - benefits/drawbacks?
Hi all,
My parents have been floating the idea of adding my name to their home that they bought 30 years ago (they still live there). I believe the mortgage still has ~160k owing. My parents are in their mid to late 50s now. Besides their RRSP contributions I don't think they have a lot of other savings. I get worried for when they retire so I've been trying to help pay bills here and there - they both work regular labor jobs and don't make a lot of money. I guess this is where I wonder if if my name is on the mortgage, at least I get some benefit from helping pay the bills. Also just to be clear, they don't expect me helping them out at all. My parents are immigrants and have always had the 'do whatever for your kid' mentality which I'm very grateful for. I think since the house would eventually go to me anyways, they thought might as well add it now.
I just started my career and make about ~75k gross before bonuses. I'm renting a cheap place at the moment (less than $1000/mo), have about 35k on my student loan, and a small car payment. I'm hoping in 5-6 years I'll be financially stable and have enough for a down payment with my partner, for a small house.
I'm curious as to what the benefits or drawbacks in this situation would be, if my parents added my name to the mortgage. Would it be easier to secure a mortgage for when I'm ready to buy a home? Obviously we're going to talk to the bank, but wanted to get some ideas of what could potentially be an issue with this.
Thanks all!

2023.06.08 21:22 sadarlecchino Person who shares an office space with my therapist always looks at me like he doesn't like me, and it's starting to bother me. How likely is it that my therapist has been talking about me?
this person is not a therapist, but shares an office space with my therapist (though they seem to be friends as they're always in each other's office between sessions).
when I enter the office, I always run into this guy, and I find it natural when I meet someone's eye in a setting like that to smile and usually say hi (everyone else I run into there do the same). so when I've met him previously, I've always smiled, but he meets me with a very cold stare. also never says hi to me. I find it really strange because the first time I saw him he had the door open to his office and made a point of smiling at me, even though he was actually busy with stuff in his office. he also doesn't seem like he's just an aloof person, from what I've seen of his interactions with my therapist.
I've seen posts in
therapists about mental health professional talking freely to their colleagues about patients, not in the form of confiding to someone about difficult topics (though imo that should be saved for supervision, am I wrong about that?), but blatant bitching/bullying, even revealing the patient's name. I guess this has kind of triggered a fear that my therapist might be talking about me, and have somehow managed to point out which of his patients it is. I'm unstable asf and bipolar, which is why I am in therapy - so I'm sure I'm not always the easiest patient + my therapist is visibly easily offended and isn't always the most ethical (e.g inappropriate comments about how I look) ...
I can't rationalise any other reason why his demeanour would suddenly change towards me. he genuinely looks at me like he's disgusted by me. if this is relevant - I'm not usually someone people would be prejudiced against (i.e I'm white, decently conventionally attractive, young, skinny, straight passing and dress properly), so I know it's not any racism, homophobia or prejudice against overweight people. I find myself getting nervous when I enter the office now because it feels quite humiliating? I'm a very private person and I'm not ok with being talked about in that way, if this is the case. I'm also really conflict averse, generally a people pleaser, and feel uncomfortable if I know someone dislikes me.
I suppose my question is how I should deal with this and whether this is a concern I should bring up to my therapist (and how I should approach that)? also whether this is even likely at all?

2023.06.08 21:22 Select_Ad_2995 smiling me
I am someone who doesn't believe in supernaturals but today, ive experienced the worst in my life!
I literally saw myself smiling at me! I got home at exactly 2:44am today and it happens that my family aren't home. They're on vacation and I decide to stay. I sat and eat snacks for like 10mins or something in our kitchen and when I decided to go wash and sleep, I saw myself smiling at me!

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will be racing onto screens as early as Friday, June 9. While Paramount has announced no streaming plans at this time, big-budget blockbusters like Transformers: Rise of the Beasts typically become available on streaming roughly ninety days after their theatrical run begins. Given that the Transformers franchise rights currently belong to Paramount Pictures, it's more than likely that we'll see the next Transformers film come to Paramount+ once the movie decides to indulge in a streaming release. While not every film from the franchise is currently available on the service, it's hard to imagine that Paramount wouldn't put a big recent release like this onto their own service.
No, Transformers Rise of the Beasts is not yet streaming, so you’ll need to zoom your way to the nearest cinema if you want to see it. We’re sure that you’ll be able to stream Transformers Rise of the Beasts eventually, but Paramount has made it exclusive to cinemas for now. When Will Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Be Available On Netflix? Unfortunately the movie Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is not yet available on Netflix. Follow us on Facebook to see when Transformers: Rise of the Beasts becomes available on Netflix!
Transformers Rise of the Beasts is too busy shaking cinema walls to be on Netflix just yet. But we’ll keep an eye on the streamer’s catalog and let you know if the new Transformers outing does show up in the future. The streaming giant has a massive catalog of television shows and movies, but it does not include 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.' We recommend our readers watch other dark fantasy films like 'The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.'
Is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts coming to Disney Plus?
Transformers Rise of the Beasts is not on Disney Plus, and we doubt it will end up there any time soon. The new Transformers movie is a Paramount production, so it’s not likely to end up on the streaming arm of a rival studio. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, the latest installment in the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts franchise, is coming to Disney+ on July 9th! The simple answer is, probably not, since Paramount Pictures make “Transformers” films, and so this means that the new movie will be streaming exclusively on Paramount+, following a theatrical and digital release.
However, the previous “Transformers” films are spread around a number of different streaming services, depending on what country you are in, due to long-running contracts between the studios and streaming platforms.
Is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts on Amazon Prime?
We think Transformers Rise of the Beasts will be available on Prime Video before the end of 2023, but it’s not there yet. The other Transformers movies are available to rent or purchase on the Prime Video platform. Amazon Prime's current catalog does not include 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.' However, the film may eventually release on the platform as video-on-demand in the coming months.fantasy movies on Amazon Prime's official website. Viewers who are looking for something similar can watch the original show 'Dororo.'
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Will Stream On Paramount+
Transformers: Rise of the Beast is expected to be available to watch via streaming on Paramount Plus by September 9, 2023. Paramount+ is where Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will stream upon its release. Paramount has been in charge of the Transformers movie franchise since it began in 2007 and thus is responsible for releasing every entry in theaters. While the studio might have previously sent its movies to other streaming services like Netflix, the shift to focus more on the development of its own streaming service Paramount+ has changed this tactic. That is why Paramount has released its other major recent blockbusters like Top Gun: Maverick or Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves on Paramount+ after their theatrical runs conclude.
Want to know how to watch the Transformers movies in order before Rise of the Beasts roars into theaters? You've come to the right place. The seventh entry in Paramount Pictures' Transformers film franchise arrives in cinemas worldwide on Friday, June 9, so you don't have much time left to watch its predecessors at home. But, if you're planning to cram them all in before catching Transformers: Rise of the Beasts this weekend, we're here to help you work out how to watch them in chronological and release date order, and we'll also tell you which of the world's best streaming services have them as part of their movie libraries.
So, if you're ready to be reunited with Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and company – and get the lowdown on every Transformers film to be released so far – read on.
Here's How and Where You Can Watch All of the Transformers movies
The best place to start is finding out where you can watch all of the Transformers movies in order in the comfort of your own home. If you're subscribed to Paramount Plus, that's your answer – well, for five of the six films, anyway. Paramount's primary streaming platform is home to the Michael Bay-directed trilogy – Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The streamer's film library is also home to the two Mark Wahlberg-starring flicks, Transformers: Age of Extinction and Transformers: The Last Knight.
● Transformers (released on July 3, 2007) ● Revenge of the Fallen (released on June 24, 2009) ● Dark of the Moon (released on June 29, 2011) ● Age of Extinction (released on June 27, 2014) ● The Last Knight (released on June 21, 2017) ● Bumblebee (released on Dec. 21, 2018) Potential users looking to watch this quintet of movies will want to check out our Paramount Plus price guide to see how much it costs to sign up. Alternatively, you can get the lowdown on whether a Paramount Plus free trial is available, so you can try the service out without paying any money to stream the movies. Unfortunately for Paramount Plus UK and Australian-based users, the sixth entry in the action sci-fi franchise, 2018's Bumblebee, isn't available on British shores as part of the package.
US subscribers can catch Bumblebee on Paramount Plus (and Fubo, for what it's worth), but UK and Australian fans will have to look elsewhere to get the full Transformers movies in order experience. Here's where UK and Australian viewers can watch Bumblebee instead:
● Australia – rent or buy via the Amazon, Apple TV Google Play, Microsoft, or YouTube stores ● UK – rent or buy via the Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, Microsoft, Rakuten, Sky, or YouTube stores Will Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Be On HBO Max?
No, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Paramount Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
Disney may have made billions with last year’s mega-blockbuster Avatar: The Way of Water, but for now it’s going to share the streaming success. The Steven Caple Jr. directed sequel is coming to streaming on September 11 and though the film was distributed by Disney, Disney+ won’t be the only place to see it. You can see it there as well as Max, aka HBO Max.
Is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie Transformers: Rise of the Beasts on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.
No, 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' is unavailable on Hulu. People who have a subscription to the platform can enjoy 'Afro Samurai Resurrection' or 'Ninja Scroll.'

You can also rent or buy the movie on iTunes or Google Play. You can also watch it on-demand or on a streaming app available on your TV or streaming device if you have cable.
When Will Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Be on DVD and Blu-ray?
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will likely be coming to DVD and Blu-ray around the same time as the streaming release. With theatrical films, on average, coming to streaming sooner than ever (usually ninety days after theatrical release), we'll likely see Transformers: Rise of the Beasts get a DVD, and Blu-ray release no later than Fall 2023. Transformers Rise of the Beasts isn’t on Blu-ray yet but will join the rest of the franchise on disc before the end of 2023. There are plenty of fancy releases and box sets of the other Transformers movies, so we’re sure this one will be available to buy in all of its 4K glory very soon.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts cast:
Some familiar voices can be heard as the titular robots-in-disguise in the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts cast, like Transformers legacy actor Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime, as well as new cast members like Peter Dinklage and Michelle Yeoh voicing new Transformer characters:
● Anthony Ramos as Noah Diaz ● Dominique Fishback as Elena Wallace ● Luna Lauren Vélez as Mrs Diaz ● Tobe Nwigwe as Reek ● Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime ● Pete Davidson as Mirage ● Liza Koshy as Arcee ● Ron Perlman as Optimus Primal ● Michelle Yeoh as Airazor ● David Sobolov as Rhinox ● Tongayi Chirisa as Cheetor ● John DiMaggio as Stratosphere ● Peter Dinklage as Scourge ● David Sobolov as Battletrap ● John DiMaggio as Transit ● Michaela Jaé Rodriguez - Nightbird What Transformers: Rise of the Beasts About:
Optimus Prime and the Autobots take on their biggest challenge yet. When a new threat capable of destroying the entire planet emerges, they must team up with a powerful faction of Transformers known as the Maximals to save Earth. For a while, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts looked like it might be another Bumblebee--a Transformers movie that lacks any of the pizzazz of the Michael Bay flicks but which actually tells a decent story about characters you actually care about. For the first 45 minutes to an hour, we get the most compelling and relatable version yet of the story about a regular person accidentally becoming friends with an alien robot who was secretly a car. But then the plot really kicks in, and suddenly we're watching a Michael Bay Transformers movie--but without Bay's skill as an action filmmaker.
It’s a tale as old as time: A human character stumbles upon a group of Transformers that includes Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) and Bumblebee (voiceless yet again), and gets roped into their battle with an evil faction, which inevitably involves a race for a piece of Transformers tech that has the power to destroy the world.

2023.06.08 21:21 ThrowAwayyyyyy7485 Married guy at work flirting?!
Hey guys I just need y’all’s opinion cause I can’t tell if I’m going crazy or not lol.
So I (28F) just started a new office job about a month ago and I sit in a two person cubical with this guy I’ll call Joe (33M). They were in a slow period so there was literally nothing to do most of the day so we got acquainted pretty quickly. He told me so many stories about his family, wife, childhood, hobbies, etc. Our sense of humor is pretty similar to soo I feel like we became fast friends.
He helped with a lot of my training and I started to notice how close he would get when he was showing me how to do something on my computer, like a few inches away even though there’s plenty of room. Sometimes once he was done showing me whatever is was, he’ll stay that close talking to me until he finishes his thought. I was just thinking, “Maybe he is one of those people who doesn’t have any personal space?”.
I also forgot to bring coffee once or twice and he gave me one of the two energy drinks he gets on his way in each morning. Whenever he has any extra snacks he’ll ask me first if I want some. He also rolled in a chair for me when he noticed I was standing in my lead’s office for awhile going over some work I did. He’s complimented me on my clothes multiple times and even said something when I straightened my hair.
While I agree none of this is damning and can be attributed to him just being a nice guy, I keep playing this one conversation in my head over and over and don’t Toni’s if I’m just overthinking things.
One day a week or so ago, he just randomly brought up how he’s not a jealous person and if his wife ever met anyone she might be attracted to enough to want to get physical with, he wouldn’t stand in her way. He also said that if he ever met someone he was attracted to he would act on it.
I really just wanted to see what y’all thought cause it’s been driving me crazy! I’ll admit I’ve been having a small crush on him…idk him being married is obviously weird but he mentioned offhand once that if you’re going to be in an open relationship you really have to talk about it. So maybe they have an open marriage?
Either way, the attention is nice lol just don’t wanna get too worked up about it if I’m just making it all up in my head lol thanks if you’ve made it this far!!

2023.06.08 21:21 surf_AL What are the implications of interpolating by holding values constant (between old samples) instead of "zero stuffing"?
I was reading the book "Understanding Digital Signal Processing" by Richard Lyons and it discusses the use of "zero stuffing" when you are interpolating (or "upsampling"). Basically, you do the zero-stuffing, and then you low-pass filter to remove the high-frequency artifacts ("images") that result from the stuffing.
I am working with some code where someone simply held the value of a signal constant between old samples in the new sample-space. Basically, they made a "stair-step" signal - drawing a horizontal line between values in the old sample space rather than setting the signal to zero between old values in the sample space (as you would when "zero stuffing").
As long as you low-pass filter the signal, what are the implications of this sort of interpolation vs zero-stuffing? Is this a generally NOT good way to go about interpolation? My intuition tells me that less high frequency noise will be created by holding values constant rather than setting to zero, but I am not entirely sure. Thank you for your input

2023.06.08 21:20 Ok_Comfortable9894 How do i not break someone's heart?
I am male 40. My partner is female 48. We got together 6 years ago, through tinder, as FWBs. We liked each other so much we became closer, and then had some pregnancy news...
Long story short, I moved into her apartment, in the expectation/hope we would be a family. It sadly proved not to be. It was unexpected but the biological clock is cruel. The first pregnancy which brought about me moving in after a year, ended prematurely as did the next few.
We really got on with each other and still do. I know this sounds obvious but it was just so easy compare to previous relationships.
Time wore on... hopes of a family had ended by covid. We were together 24/7 working from home and still got on well. Our sex life gradually nosedived after 2019 and we are now down to once a month or two. This is mostly down to me, I found it progressively harder to find her sexually attractive and in fact I barely engage sexually other than out of duty.
Despite being together so much we rarely talk about things deeply anymore and rarely mention past issues of the pregnancies.
She is deeply unhappy with me. She still loves me I believe and wants me to love her. I cannot find her sexually attractive anymore than out of duty and treat it as paying rent.
Currently I am 'between jobs' hoping to enter a new progression. I am her tenant and we live in a big expensive city. Things have come to a head after her frustration with me. Though some triggers seem ridiculous I am sure they have roots in our unhappy sex life and the fact I am obviously unhappy and have been for some time. For example the current argument bringing things to an impasse is me not liking her food which I tried to hide from her.
She has proposed we break up and I move out. But .. I cant move anymore. I am sure we can negotiate amicably but that would presuppose we confirm we are breaking up but living together for (I dont know:S)...
Deep down I know we should break up and perhaps should have done years ago. I had always wanted a family and it seems impossible with her. Yet I had fantastised and still do about having children with her, and had prayed so much she would get and stay pregnant.
I wake up in the middle of the night and think of leaving her every day, for years now. She senses it. She is the kindest most considerate woman and I feel so weak and cruel for both ending it now and not having ended it years ago (and probably for having started it in the first place).
There are so many practically considerations to this that I cannot even comprehend let alone the nightmare of potentially ending this relationship. It seems I should have ripped the band aid off years ago. It really seems I (and she) will probably end up paying for my own weakness.
I dont really have the first idea how to progress with things other than lay things out to her and let her decide which again is a cowards way out. I just really want to be friends with her but not lovers anymore.
This is is a long ramble... mostly therapeutic on my own part. Hopefully it makes sense to someone out there.
TL;DR - almost certainly have to end a relationship but dont know how without breaking both our hearts.
Edit: It may seem ridiculous that I (maybe) want t end this relationship now after 6 years yet wanted to have a family with this woman beforehand. If it was possible to have a family with her I think I would want to stay with her and have a family.
Edit: the 'moving out' part is a genuine practical concern though not the main reason and far from it, as to why I want to end this. It is not my main motivation for not wanting to end this relationship it just is a very real fear on my part.
what would you do? Is there happiness in settling for a less than perfect relationship, agreeing some sex or discussing donor eggs pregnancy?

2023.06.08 21:20 AllSkateSlowly Talk to me about garbage disposals
I rent. Been in my current place for 11 years.
I try to take care of common sense, minor things myself. At the moment I have a garbage disposal that just went to hell (water pouring out of the bottom) and a dryer that needs to be replaced. I don’t want to bother my landlord for both.
Financial contribution aside, is there any major reason I shouldn’t replace the disposal?
I found a couple at Costco for about $100. They come with the cord already attached, and it sure looks to me like it would be an easy swap. Pull out the old one, screw in the new one, attach a couple of hoses, and plug it in.
Am I being naive in thinking I could handle it? I’m not a contractor or anything, but I can do minor repairs and change my own tire and stuff like that.
I also don’t really rely on the disposable for much. We keep a basket trap in the drain and throw most large chunks in the trash, don’t put large quantities of food down it or anything.
Is there anything I should keep in mind or be wary of? Any hidden traps in this repair that could end up being a big problem? It looks pretty straight forward to me, but I thought I’d ask. TIA for your advice.

2023.06.08 21:20 mvrtxna piggybacking: Longest I've held a job is 10 months.
Someone recently made a post about having a lot of jobs within a short time frame bc it's really hard to keep them bc of our bipolar. Ever since I got diagnosed and even before then, the longest I have ever held a job was 10 months, and that's only one of the jobs. And it was just weekends. I'm working full time as a vet assistant at a clinic near my house, and I'm terrified I'll do something to F it up soon. I started about a month ago, and my coworkers say I'm doing great and they're proud of me, but they don't know I'm bipolar and it haunts me every day that I could make a mistake where I lose my job. I'm a vet tech student, too, so this is kind of what I wanna do when I grow up. If I lose this job, it'll just look like I was subpar if I put it on a résumé. I'm in a constant state of proud of myself for getting here and also scared to death that I'll lose what I have. Anyone relate? Anyone have advice?
