Slim’s father is an AA man (allegedly a lightskinned biracial man, making Slim about 25% black).
Slim has said herself that her father abandoned heher family and she was completely raised by her WHITE mother.
From an early childhood development standpoint— we learn language and develop our pronunciation based off of our early childhood caretaker(s) (the ones who teach us how to speak).
Now I know her motheher family doesn’t speak in that “black”/Southern American accent (unless her mother is the true culprit, and is in fact the one who’s been forcing it for years, so Slim’s language development was modeled on that, but that’s not likely).
Just cause Slim hasn’t “turned it off” in years, apparently, she gets a pass?
I mean as a biracial person I understand having an identity crisis. But at some point we have to try to be our authentic selves. And we definitely shouldn’t be reducing entire cultures to a costume, cause it perpetuates harmful ideas to do so.
Also (especially if she is in fact 75% white, as I’ve heard people say but I’ve never seen photos so I’m not 100% sure) if you’re 50% white or more, and are physically completely white (“looking”), it’s even more strange and questionable.
She doesn’t get perceived as a black woman and therefore doesn’t have the same racially discriminatory experiences as someone who does. So for her to latch on this experience/culture she’s barely on the periphery of (if at all) and base such a significant amount of her external identity around it, is just very disingenuous.
Let’s not even get started on her constant use of the N word. And is it just me or she makes sure to avoid it if she’s on TV? 💀 I’ve only heard her say it on Lives, not while she’s being recorded by a network. (EDIT: apparently she has said it on TV)
EDIT: Any hit dogs who feel deep down that they are also “performing” “blackness” at certain moments, and haven’t been fully honest with themselves about the implications, or inspiration, behind those moments— need not come hollering on my post.

The narrative went from Poole being the future to now Poole being a self-centered diva. I feel like we assigned this personality to him — the whole thing about him being some immature lightskin who likes baddies and whatnot. Just a bunch of stereotypes on him based on how his appearance and how he celebrates.
Is there even any truth to him being a diva or is it all speculation? If you want to talk about divas, we could easily say that about Draymond, but we're giving him a pass because he's been playing okay.
