Hey all! Just found out today that my corporate owned apartment complex (the behemoth Riverbend) is so hard up for tenants (due to overpriced units) that now they're listing vacant apartments on AirBNB for $74 to $90 per night. Very nicely furnished and the 2 bedrooms are advertised as sleeping up to 6. There is one in the building next to mine and I happened upon the two guys trying to figure out where to park their U-Haul trailer. They were very nice and here for the week to work.
But, I'm curious if anyone else has had this happen in their complex. Are they screening these people like they screen tenants? I'm slightly pissed because my air conditioning was out for 5 days last week and it took a call to the health department and threatening not to pay my rent to get it repaired. I also shelled out for a portable AC because all of the ones that maintenance bought were in other units. Hundreds of units are on the repair list again this year but they're clearly taking care of the AirBNB units.
It's a smoking deal for the AirBNB folks for a fully furnished 1k sq ft apartment with pets welcomed and access to the pool, fitness center, tennis courts, etc. I'm just concerned about safety, etc due the recent spate of violence at other rentals. They say "no parties" but we all know it's going to happen.

I recently changed careers, and countries, and while I'm glad I made that decision, life is still more enjoyable when you have people to share it with.
I used to enjoy having someone to talk to, especially at night, and would enjoy finding that again. I work as a scuba instructor on Grand Cayman, so, plenty of funny stories to be had.
I'm originally from the southern United States, but most recently was living in Las Vegas working in tech before moving here. I decided to pursue happiness, and, the island has definitely been kind to me but, not in the friendship department.
I enjoy hiking, cycling, scuba diving, exploring new places, trying new restaurants, enjoying live music, etc. My favorite book genre is mystery, and for movies I usually enjoy comedies.
I've earned 117 certifications in the last year and a half in search of a better life, between IT, firefighting, emergency medical intervention, teaching English, teaching diving, etc. So, I'm always interested in learning new things.

Hello, I’m making this post of my experience with Dr.Brosious since there’s not many reviews for him. Fair warning I did pay for this all out of pocket so I’m not sure what Insurance they accept.
Brosious is a surgeon based in Las Vegas and is well known for gender affirming surgery, I had actually never seen his name come up until I was watching the news, and when I checked him out he was pretty cool! I emailed for a consult estimate in december, then decided to officially schedule a consult in January, where it cost $150. The fee goes towards your surgery and fun fact Brosious only does consults on Wednesday. They do ask if you’re ftm, mtf, or non-binary in order to figure whether you need a letter, and since I am non-binary they said they might require one for me.
i went in for a consult about 2 weeks later, and met with Brosious. He came in and immediately asked me about being non-binary and how long I had thought about top surgery, he concluded that I was sure of what I wanted so he wouldn’t require a letter from me. He took measurements and pictures and told me what sort of procedure would be best and where my scar lines would be. He also explained that they do free nipple grafts but I could opt out and that any future revision or post-op appointment is paid for with my initial fee. He was very to the point but very nice about it, and was more than happy to answer all my typical questions. After that the front office gave me a full quote of $7,100, it was divided as $500 upfront to secure the surgery date and $6575 left to pay after. The quote was valid for about a month, but I essentially called back the next day and my surgery date was scheduled for a month out. Another fun fact they only do surgeries on Mondays
After scheduling they sent me an email with prep instructions and labs I needed to do and which medicines I needed to pick up (I did need to pay extra for the medicine but they gave me coupons. they gave me nausea, constipation and pain pills) after that it was just wait till surgery day. Day of surgery I arrived about 30 mins earlier than scheduled to check in and after waiting a bit I was taken to get prepped for surgery. something I saw no one mention is that you cannot fully empty your bladder in the morning because they will ask for a urine sample when they prep you for surgery and as someone who has never had surgery I wish someone had told me. i had to spend like 10 min connected to an IV bag just so I could pee lol. Anyways afterwards they wheeled me to the surgery room and as soon as they put the mask on me I was out. Woke up about 2hrs later in massive pain, but the nurses gave me morphine and I was fine. They explained all the care instructions to my designated driver and afterwards I was free to go home. I was still in pain but it felt more like a dull ache, and anything I ate that day I immediately threw up, even after taking nausea pills.
The bandages stayed on for a week, then I went in to get them removed. At the post-op appointment they told me I could either use a compression vest or ace bandages for compression but that either ways I needed to keep it on for 6 weeks. I was given xeroform to use on my nipples and cleared to shower only from the waist down, they said I could take a full body shower in 3 weeks. After that appointment I was pretty much left on my own with an instruction sheet rehashing what they said, but I was always free to call them for any questions. Which I did, and they were very nice about.
After the 6 weeks of binding I had a final appointment to see how I had healed, once I was cleared I was free from any more compression and told I could start scar care. It’s been 2 months from my surgery date and I’ve been healing well with no complications. For anyone having trouble finding surgeons in Las Vegas I highly recommend Dr.Brosious, he and his staff are very experienced and do a good job of keeping you comfortable and well aware of everything you need to do. If you have any questions feel free to ask me!

Chapter 5: Despair Jockeys:
Mirroring the storyline that got them kidnapped by Junko in the first place (not that they remember), Monochio’s motive for the 5th chapter is another D4DJ BATTLE TIME. In one week, whichever of the three surviving DJs most impresses it, that DJ will win the title of Ult. DJ, get to go home, and get to take one person with them.
Mirroring First Mix plot points, this chapter focuses primarily on Rinku, Maho, Muni, Kyoko, and Shinobu, and the envy, insecurity, and inferiority that permeates their relationships. Muni feels at odds with Maho because if Maho wins, she’s taking Rinku home with her. Muni and Maho feel at odds with Kyoko and Shinobu because they catch Rinku with Kyoko and Shinobu multiple times. Kyoko feels at odds with Rinku because she catches Rinku with Shinobu.
Only Shinobu and Rinku don’t feel awkward, and that’s because, ever since Nozomi’s EMP attack against Monochio (even though it failed) and the blackout in the VR lab, Shinobu has been working hard to figure out a way to end the Killing Game. Along the way, she’s gathered information about the outside world, including a so-called Ult. Hope. Rinku doesn’t feel awkward because she’s Rinku.
At the same time, M4 is at odds with everyone else because they protected Dalia until the very end, even after she was found guilty, and none of the four would ever admit any of their guilt. That leads to tension with RONDO which leads to tension with Miyu (since she’s close to Tsubaki and Saori both). To redeem themselves, though, M4 proposes a plan. Saori will help one of the other DJs win the contest.
Maho and Shinobu create a pact with Saori wherein they will allow Maho to win and escape with Rinku. The night of the show, Shinobu calls Rinku away for one final farewell. After Shinobu departs, Kyoko walks in and talks to Rinku about her feelings of jealousy, inferiority, and insecurity. Then Muni joins, having seen Rinku disappear with Kyoko and Shinobu. Then Maho joins and a fight breaks out.
By the end of it, Maho is the winner of the BATTLE TIME and Rinku and Kyoko are dead, the former beaten and strangled to death, her blood coating the walls and floors. Kyoko, meanwhile is hanging from a catwalk by an extension cable.
The trial reveals that Kyoko is the killer, both of Rinku and herself. Driven to Despair during the five-person fight, she finally catches Rinku off guard alone. The shame overwhelms Kyoko and the students are able to prove that she’s responsible because the cable she was hanging by came from a room only she could access. It was a room behind a musical lock that could only be opened by an Ult. Vocalist.
This is also when Kyoko finally remembers her Talent, but it frustrates her because she perceives it as a worthless Talent since she’s surrounded by vocalists all the time, including Tsubaki, who is an Ult. Vocalist.
Monochio demands that someone be executed since Kyoko is already dead and Shinobu volunteers. She claims that it is for Kyoko's sake, but the truth is that she knew how to hijack executions. It was supposed to be Rinku’s task to shut them down once she and Maho were free, but after Rinku’s death, Shinobu improvised.
Her execution is "Dance 4 Deadly Justice" and starts off with her playing an FPS before being deposited into a racing game, then a fighting game. It is during the fighting game that she breaks out of the level and entices Monochio to chase her.
She corners it and forces it to play against her in the fourth and final level of her execution. It is a rhythm game with a Kyoko avatar and Shinobu chooses the song “Electric Chaos Countdown”, drowning out Monochio’s execution music for the first time.
By the end of the song, the game crashes and Monochio's body is destroyed while Shinobu's is nowhere to be found within the wreckage of the execution.
The DR trope most prominent and important in this chapter is the "crazy plot twist" of the 5th trial, which in this case was everything Shinobu did to put herself in a position where she could hijack and shut down her own execution and Monochio at the same time from within the execution itself.
Another DR trope in this chapter is the face-slap. In this case, Rika and Tsubaki fight over which unit is more responsible for what happened to Aoi and Dalia and it ends with Tsubaki slapping Rika.
Chapter 6: The Ultimate Motive, and the Ultimate Class Trial:
With Monochio dead, but still no way out of the school, the survivors explore every inch of Hope's Pinnacle, even places that used to be locked. In doing so, they find one last recording from Monochio about a final class trial.
In it, the survivors must identify the masterminds. If they get at least half correct, they are all free to leave. If they get less than half correct, they must all face their executions. To make it a little fairer, however, each execution is survivable, but only just barely.
In the end, the survivors fail to guess 3/6. They misidentify Kurumi as a mastermind because they had a photo of her and Kokichi leading the DICE group with no context. Hiiro is able to persuade them that Nagisa is the mastermind, hence why Hiiro had to trick her into an early grave, although she had no idea Miiko’s prank was going to be the weapon that Nagisa used. Rika tried to just give up her identity but Monochio refused to accept it as valid on the grounds of cheating. Noa was misidentified as a mastermind because of her behavior at the end of the third trial.
Rei is able to figure out Esora because of her faint memories of Esora’s rivalry with Byakuya, including her collusion with the Towa Conglomeration. And Maho is outed by footage of herself goading Kyoko into killing Rinku. It was footage she failed to clear while everyone else was searching for a way out of the school after the 5th execution.
Junko gets an obligatory Trial 6 cameo, as Rika calls her up to prove that she’s M4’s mastermind.
Failing to meet Monochio's standards, the survivors are put through their executions and only Miyu, Tsubaki, Hiiro, Saori, Marika, Towa, and Esora survive. Miyu is saved by luck, Hiiro's fortune told her she would survive, Towa was rescued by Miyu, and Esora beat her execution, although she failed to save Rei from hers. Saori and Marika were spared from their executions entirely.
Another thing Rika did to prove her identity was to confess her true Talent as the Ult. Arsonist and shoot a blast of flames from her palms to make a point. The flames wounded Saori and Marika, and because it would’ve been considered unfair to send them through their executions while they were injured (thanks to Haruna’s hand in programming Monochio’s adherence to rules and fairness), the fiery attack became the execution they had to survive, which was far easier than what would’ve been in store for them. There are several endings which I will cover in another post.

I'm a 30-year-old guy looking for a relationship (or friendship) through reddit. I know it's probably not the best idea, but I haven't had a lot of success with dating apps in my area. Plus, dating in your 30's is hard when you're an introvert. I will say though, I have made some great friends through reddit in the past, so I figured I'd try again and see what happens.
A little bit about me. I'm a typical redditor. Gamer, anime watcher, music enthusiast, and occasional movie watcher. I'm also a giant sports fan as well. Right now, I'm playing Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. It's pretty much taken over my life at the moment. There are a lot of games coming out this year, and I can't wait to get my hands on them. Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy XVI, and so many more I can't think of right now. It's gonna be a great year for gaming. I can honestly talk about gaming for hours. It's the best. Let's talk about our favorite games, or possibly play some together.
In terms of anime, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is my favorite show. Yes, it's ridiculous and over the top, but that's what makes it great. I haven't caught up with My Hero Academia Season 6 yet, but only because I want to stack them up and power through them all at once. Outside of that, I've been watching some Spy X Hunter. What a charming little show this is. Anyway, I'm always looking for new recommendations. What are you watching now?
Sports-wise, I'm a Los Angeles Lakers fan and a Las Vegas Raiders fan. I know. This has been a very disappointing season. Hopefully, the Lakers pull something wild off, and players are able to stay healthy. Otherwise, I just can only hope for a better season next year. I need something to be excited about. I have a lot of random useless sports information in my head. I've loved basketball and football my entire life, so I'd much rather stay at home and watch a game than go out and drink or party or whatever.
My favorite genres of music are Hip-hop and R&B. I would have to say a few of my favorite albums of all time would be Channel Orange by Frank Ocean, Because the Internet by Childish Gambino, 2014 Forest Hills Drive by J. Cole, Malibu by Anderson .Paak, and To Pimp a Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar. I also listen to a bunch of different genres. What are some of your favorite songs or albums? Let's exchange music playlists with each other.

• • Increased focus on victims, including emphasizing that prosecutors meet with victims.
• • Initiated policy wherein people who commit crimes where there is an identified victim must participate in a victim-offender dialogue, facilitated by a mediator. If the victim declines to participate, we initiated a policy where a surrogate community member will stand in for the victim, so there can still be meaningful discussion of what happened and the effects of the crime on all involved. These VODs have been shown to reduce recidivism and help everyone involved to begin to move forward.
• • Launched Marijuana Diversion Program on March 21, as a way to focus resources on violent crimes rather than low-level possession charges: Marijuana Diversion Program - Polk County Iowa
• • Made major changes to License Reinstatement Program to make it more affordable for people: Get your driver's license reinstated through revamped program - Polk County Iowa
• • Established our office’s presumption protocol for certifying U Visa basic requirements and signed the first U Visa certification: Graham supports U Visa process for crime victims - Polk County Iowa
• • Started to request OR release (on recognizance/no cash bail) for non-violent, low-level offenses where there is no victim only. If there is a victim, we request usual bond.
• • Changed Officer Involved Shooting policy from deferring to the grand jury to having our office directly review these cases.

STAFFING

• • Won approval from Polk County Board of Supervisors to hire two additional victim-witness liaisons so we can better serve victims and expand our restorative justice programming. Two started in May.
• • Hired two new assistant county attorneys to replace a staffer who became an associate judge and one who retired.
• • Moved a very experienced sexual assault prosecutor to the sex assault/sex abuse docket. She was on a lower-level offenses docket and we needed her experience on the sexual assault docket.
• • Hired a new person on the restorative justice team to replace a person who left the office.
• • Hired a manager and the office’s first public information officer.
• • Hired summer interns

JUVENILE

• • Declined to waive a 17-year-old to adult court because the office had never offered him services and it was a first offense. Initiated policy wherein I personally review all waiver cases.
• • Began looking at new way to process juvenile cases, using Ramsay County Attorney John Choi’s model of a collaborative team, involving folks from the child’s community.
• • Began discussions with community stakeholders to expand juvenile diversion programming.

LEGISLATIVE POLICY

• • Announced our support for HF 630 to increase penalties for human trafficking. Passed Legislature.
• • Asked legislators to consider changes to House File 349 and Senate Study Bill 1004, regarding discharging defendants from probation early. We asked to legislators create exceptions for those convicted of sexual abuse, domestic abuse, stalking, or violent offenses against victims. Bill did not pass. Statement: Prosecutor: Bills would harm abuse survivors - Polk County Iowa
• • Supported Senate File 84, which includes increased penalties for stalking while utilizing a technological device. Passed Legislature
• • Supported House File 112, which allows prosecutors to look back more than 12 years when determining whether a domestic violence arrest is a second or subsequent offense. Passed Legislature
• • Met with members of Polk County’s legislative delegation to discuss priorities

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

• • Assisted with the coordination of three expungement clinics in Des Moines on MKL, Jr. Day, with Iowa Legal Aid. The clinics aided about 90 people in their expungements.
• • Met with representatives of Department of Labor folks in Kansas City and in Des Moines to learn how we can best collaborate on workers rights and wage theft issues.
• • Joined the National Black Prosecutors Association, attending their annual conference in August and we will be participating in their job fair to recruit a more diverse applicant pool.
• • Engaged with the Department of Justice’s “Justice Counts” initiative to provide our data to a national database to inform policies and programs.
• • Helped plan and spoke at our National Victims Rights Crime week 5k and awareness event.

• • Joined Polk County’s DEI Committee with two of our staff on the committee. The Polk County Attorney’s office has not had representation on this committee in the past.
• • Met with the new Guatemalan Consular General to learn what their office can provide to newcomers and to discuss the U Visa program.
• • Visited and toured the Oakdale classification facility (prison facility) to see where juveniles are segregated from adults, and to learn about the people living there, the programming and the facility.

All the Modes, for All Kinds of Players

Our GW2 Division is organized into Departments to ensure we give our players all the ways they want to play:

• PvE: Our PvE Department offers a little bit of everything PvE related! Our goal is to keep PvE inclusive and open to every skill level. Each week, we offer fractals at a variety of tiers, achievement runs, meta events, and dungeons, including events for toons under level 80. Each event is led by a PvE Assistant who is knowledgeable in that area of PvE. There aren't any requirements, everyone is +==welcome!
• Mists: Our Mists Department hosts a full lineup of events, both sPvP and WvW (Tarnished Coast), that are low stress and open to beginners! RoH is surging in WvW four nights a week plus occasional unscheduled runs. Whether you're a true veteran or a fresh-faced young adventurer, we'd love to bash some heads and steal some keeps with you! There are no level, gear, build, or experience requirements for any Mists events.
• Raid: The Raid Department gets together every week to take on the task of clearing as many raid and strike bosses as we can, focusing on having fun and learning the mechanics of each fight well enough that we can relax and joke while taking out bosses. We offer both open raids and periodic achievement statics.
• Crafting: The Crafting Department hosts the popular weekly Guild Missions. We also host a monthly lottery, which helps fund guild prizes, WvW siege, and ascended food, and we also hold Guild Hall and community-based events!

More Than Just A Game

The Remnants of Hope gaming community offers far more than just the GW2 Division, however. After beginning in Star Wars Galaxies in 2009, RoH has grown to include Elder Scrolls Online, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Guild Wars 2, World of Warcraft, and Final Fantasy XIV. People who join RoH through the GW2 Division are welcome to join other Divisions and experience all RoH has to offer.
Our large gaming community also delivers stability and a democratic structure few guilds can rival. We hold Division and Community elections every six months, keeping leadership fresh and avoiding burnout. A detailed Charter enables good governance and financial stability for an organization designed for the long term. A strict but fair disciplinary system ensures that any toxic behavior is addressed quickly and confidentially.
This guild structure allows a safe and joyful space for players of all backgrounds. Many of our leaders and members are part of the LGBTQ+ community, and we have players in every generation from Zoomer to Boomer. Our commitment to antiracism, diversity, and inclusion is built into our foundation and implemented through all our policies, including accommodations as appropriate.
The larger gaming community additionally provides many opportunities outside GW2. Our Discord and forums are constantly active, and the community meets as a whole once a month. We have a range of cross-community activities, including karaoke, movie nights, multi-game fashion and other shows, and casual games. We have also held meetups in Washington, D.C. and Las Vegas, sponsored a booth at Awesome Con, and are currently planning our 2023 meetup! I'm a 30-year-old guy looking for a relationship (or friendship) through reddit. I know it's probably not the best idea, but I haven't had a lot of success with dating apps in my area. Plus, dating in your 30's is hard when you're an introvert. I will say though, I have made some great friends through reddit in the past, so I figured I'd try again and see what happens.
A little bit about me. I'm a typical redditor. Gamer, anime watcher, music enthusiast, and occasional movie watcher. I'm also a giant sports fan as well. Right now, I'm playing Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. It's pretty much taken over my life at the moment. There are a lot of games coming out this year, and I can't wait to get my hands on them. Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy XVI, and so many more I can't think of right now. It's gonna be a great year for gaming. I can honestly talk about gaming for hours. It's the best. In terms of anime, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is my favorite show. Yes, it's ridiculous and over the top, but that's what makes it great. I haven't caught up with My Hero Academia Season 6 yet, but only because I want to stack them up and power through them all at once. Outside of that, I've been watching some Spy X Hunter. What a charming little show this is. Anyway, I'm always looking for new recommendations. What are you watching now?
Sports-wise, I'm a Los Angeles Lakers fan and a Las Vegas Raiders fan. I know. This has been a very disappointing season. Hopefully, the Lakers pull something wild off, and players are able to stay healthy. Otherwise, I just can only hope for a better season next year. I need something to be excited about. I have a lot of random useless sports information in my head. I've loved basketball and football my entire life, so I'd much rather stay at home and watch a game than go out and drink or party or whatever.
My favorite genres of music are Hip-hop and R&B. I would have to say a few of my favorite albums of all time would be Channel Orange by Frank Ocean, Because the Internet by Childish Gambino, 2014 Forest Hills Drive by J. Cole, Malibu by Anderson .Paak, and To Pimp a Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar. I also listen to a bunch of different genres. What are some of your favorite songs or albums?
