My company allows the "mega backdoor" as well as "backdoor" conversions. I'm trying to max out all retirement contributions (HSA, pre-tax 401k, IRA -> Roth IRA contributions).
I have the option to contribute roughly $35k of my base salary after-tax to my 401k and then use the mega backdoor conversion to the Roth 401k which I can then manually convert to my Roth IRA.
Is there a reason why I shouldn't do this with money I'm planning to invest long-term anyways?

1. I could put this money into a personal investment account and have access to the contributions AND earnings (taxed).
2. Or I could contribute them to a Roth 401k, manually convert them to my Roth IRA account.

As far as I understand, I could still access my contributions tax free AND penalty free with Option 2. (these are after-tax and iirc, only earnings are taxed/penalized under Roth plans, correct?).
Which means that if I don't see myself needing the earnings of my investments anytime soon, I cannot go wrong with doing the 401k route? And if I don't need the earnings until I'm 59 1/2, I wouldn't ever have to pay taxes on them.

We moved from one apartment to a new one in the same condo building. The new apartment’s owner claims to have four other apartments in the building, so they are experienced with the rules and regulations of the condo association.
We were asked to supply the regular paperwork, proof of insurance, proof of funds, etc. We also paid all deposits, so we could move in the 15th of May, and did so on the 29th, with written approval from the owner.
The only documentation missing is the H06 from the landlord, and they have yet to produce it, almost 1 month later, post several reminders from myself and the condo management. The condo association states our application not been fully approved, and we were not supposed to move in (which I didn’t know at the time).
Now, within their rights, the association has blocked all of our access cards into the building. At this point I have asked the landlord for a timeframe/date of when this will be resolved, and they will not reply.
Do I have any legal rights in this case? Is there any advice that I can follow? I’ve tried to be as accommodating and patient as possible, but I’m really not sure what I can do.

I’m tired of having 300lb patients with polysubstance abuse, on a ventilator, artificial feeds, who is trying to choke the life out of you. Each ring represents a parallel timeline, and one of them was destroyed.
"But how could their time machine access a place where time was erased?"
Bulma explained in the manga that the name "time machine" is misrepresents the device's function, and it's more of a dimensional travel machine that takes you to parallel worlds, and can consistently access the Trunks timeline throguh a configuration. Eventually, Bulma asked Pilaf to install a dimensional plug to the time machine that allows it to travel to any parallel world now regardless of time and space.

Once a card is drawn the effect will immediately be in use and the card (as soon as the power has been used) will disappear and (Like a Vivre card in reverse) will become a small piece of the tarot card that slowly becomes a full card (The user is able to expend extra stamina to speed up the process of completing the card), Once the card is whole again it can be used immediately.
The time taken to regain a full card varies, if the user does not put in any energy of their own to regain a card they have used the process can take a month, but with energy that process can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few hours and even with extreme levels of energy being put into the card and a decent level of mastery over the fruit the user can reduce the time even more to about ten minutes.

Our system is very new to self-awareness (briefly: leaving the family home, having enough time/space to uncover past trauma; and unexpected relationships with a couple other system alters, helped introduce us to our world!).
Apart from sorting through imposter syndrome, feeling valid in our complexity, and discovering our varied needs, the biggest challenge seems to be figuring out how to represent and share about our system to others, especially singlets, and perhaps especially those who have knowing [our old host] for a long time. (We recently mutually decided to switch to me hosting most of the time for now, to give them a break after a loooong stint hosting and not realizing they might have help, and to give me some bonafide in-world time that I now understand I was craving.)
For example, our prior host was agender while I am nonbinary femme. We’ve adjusted our outward presentation a bit, and are using “genderfluid” as a simplified way of explaining switches to some folks. Or systemfluid to those who are closer and know or seem receptive to learning about that. And finally with those we’re intimate with and/or trust, we give access to more alter info (whatever we ourselves know).
Intuitively this has felt like a decent approach, but I’d love to hear other approaches, or perspectives, from other systems and partners of systems alike! Partners: maybe about what you’ve wanted to be in the know about (or not know/be blissfully unaware of) regarding your system partner(s). Other systems: what are some of your approaches, or do you have any tips or tricks?
Both myself and our previous host are prone to oversharing, so we’ve been trying to find a middle ground given the depth of relationships: from acquaintances through intimate partners! And receptiveness of said relations to our system’s complexity.
P.S. the gender and appearance stuff is really just an example — but I mentioned it because of the way society seems to care a lot about it (almost to the extreme, especially for that first impression or snap judgment, and thus things like dysphoria and related challenges have been some of the biggest thing we’ve had to face when we switch hosts). If I go past the superficial, the real differences are of course our different personalities, ways of thinking, how we relate to (and are sometimes in relationships with) other folks, and the different memories and experiences we have with folks. (Long story short, things drew me forward in the past, so I have sometimes unknowingly fronted, or at least co-driven in some ways). I can tell that these deeper differences are the next big challenges that are going to come up in relationships, so I would again love to hear your thoughts — systems and partners of systems alike!

I've had something rambling around in my brain.
Obviously, outright "quid pro quo" in politics is prohibited: You can't/shouldn't "buy" a vote. Campaign finance seems pretty broken. Is there an idea in political science along the lines of as a campaign contributor, I put money into escrow for a given outcome (e.g. a vote in favor of X policy); the money is "blinded" e.g. details on who donated unknown to the potential candidate but details on the causes are not, and then the candidate gets access to these funds or some other outcome when the "escrowed item" happens? I've seen a very small subset of papers discuss the idea in the literature but I'm curious (as a non-political scientist) if this concept is represented in textbooks or discussed somewhere in some depth.

Doing this on an anon acc as some of the stuff listed are very similar to what has been done to protest against a country's government and I would like to avoid my main reddit accounts becoming a target as well.
Besides mods taking the subs dark, the average user can also make some noise in the following ways:

Changing the profile picture

I offer up a very simple profile pic that consists of the reddit r next to a drop of blood. This takes a page out of the Black Bauhinia flag used in protests in Asia. The goal of this is to draw attention to the protest against reddit's actions of aggressive API pricing and non communication with the community.

grey r - Reddit used to stand for something once with its moment of greatness in standing for net neutrality, and the greyness represents how far it has fallen from being a bastion of internet freedom.
red blood drop - this represents the users/mods of reddit, the ones who put in the blood, sweat and effort to post and moderate content on reddit. Note that there is no slash / , the two are inseparable with the blood/effort having made reddit what it is today.

5 Requests for Reddit

After reading the notes on the call between Reddit and developers, I think we should get behind 5 requests that can be easily remembered and discussed. I am open to suggestions and this will be editted based on feedback.

1 - 3rd party apps must be able to maintain their access to the API to run their apps/moderation bots. This is a no brainer considering how much functionality 3rd party apps have compared to the official Reddit app. If mods rely on them to assist in moderating their communities, better not take away these tools or else.
​
2 - Open and clear communication. Reddit literally has the reddit sub to post, and the lack of posts addressing the current issues shows that they do not have an ear to the community/developers and are hiding behind corporate speak and closed meetings. Staff should also make an effort to engage with the community and come down to post and comment.

3 - Take a stand on advertising. We understand that advertising is an avenue to income to offset the cost of running the site but it must take a stand on better vetting of ads and letting community block ads if they are not interested in it. If reddit can take a stand and vet ads to weed out scams,unwanted porn, and hegetsus, then hopefully the rest of the internet can follow suit and crack down on such ads.

4 - Reddit MUST NOT answer to corporate interests. If the upcoming IPO is the cause of all these changes, then Reddit MUST drop it. Reddit is about the internet and speech, and should not answer to the profit-minded shareholders who would stop at nothing to extract every bit of monetary value out of the site. Besides if Reddit still tries to go ahead with the IPO, i am sure the community will find a way to tank its value or make it unattractive to invest in (Looking at you, Gamestop). If it is about the cost of running the company, there must be other ways to raise money without having to do an IPO, eg premium subscriptions, other reddit awards etc (Can someone enlighten me if reddit's current award system is getting enough income to cover running costs?)

5 - Reddit MUST be for the internet, by the internet. To Steve and the rest of reddit staff, this is less of a request about the site and more of a request for you all to think long and hard about what Reddit represents. At its core, Reddit itself is just a site that comprises of user generated content, and the staff must understand that it is the users and mods of reddit that makes the site what it is. Reddit must remain for the internet, by the internet and should not sell out it's soul to corporate greed. Remember, "reddit's communities belong to their members"

I am open to suggestions to other actions that users can take to spread the word about our protest. Mods, I suggest pinning this to give everyone a template to follow and present a united voice.

There has been a lot of talk recently about the possibility of either the US or EU approving INO-3107 on the basis of orphan drug status via the Fast Track or other expedited approval pathway in the US or Conditional Marketing Authorization or other early access mechanism in the EU. While I agree that the orphan status in both regions make INO-3107 Inovio's best chance for commercialization, I think it is an open question of whether the existing Phase 1/2 trial data consisting of 32 patients with 1 year follow up will be sufficient to gain approval under any of these mechanisms.
IMO, one of the best ways to gauge this is to look at past drug approvals. And so my question to members of this sub is: are you aware of any drugs (orphan or otherwise) in either the US or EU that has been approved with just a single Phase 1/2 trial of less than 40 participants with only 1 year of follow-up?
If the answer is yes, then I would think there is at least a chance that 3107 could see approval before the conclusion of another trial. If the answer is no however, I am inclined to believe another trial will be required and approval is still several years away.

Just like the title says. My coach is great, and there’s still 2 other ones that I still like. But the majority of the salaried management at my store have gotten so deep under my skin. When I was a regular associate, I never paid any attention to them. Then I got promoted to team lead and it’s made me hate all the salaried management over time. Every time I need them for something, they either give me the shittiest attitudes like I shouldn’t have called for them at all or they just ignore us. I understand they can be busy, but as coaches they have access to stuff that we don’t, and it’s infuriating when they just blow us off, especially when they get mad at us for not responding to them when we are busy.
Anyway, I know that complaining about management is big around here so I’m sure everyone has heard these complaints before but holy shit am I sick of them.

Like many others, we're concerned about the announced charges to the Reddit API and their impact on third party apps and vital mod tools. The changes will reduce the quality of access for many users, and for some users such as those with vision issues, may effectively lock them out of reddit.
Moreover, these changes represent a further deterioration in the relationships between Reddit and its user base. First ‘new’ reddit looks flashy but is regressive in functions and control. Much as we know we are hardly popular as a group, mods are expected to do more and more, but the tools we have to achieve it are incredibly few. Most key tools are not provided by Reddit, and rely on the goodwill of developers who get no support from Reddit.
Now reddit seems to be taking several steps to pump up the userbase and inflate their revenue and value, presumably for an IPO (selling shares in Reddit). This ignores that the assets of Reddit are the users who create content and interact with the sites, and the unpaid janitors of the mod community. Without both groups' goodwill and engagement, Reddit could go from a vibrant community to a ghost town overnight.

What's going on?

A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.

What's the plan?

On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.
The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action.

What can you do as a user?

• Complain. Message the mods of /reddit.com, who are the admins of the site: message reddit: submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on /reddit, such as this one, leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.
  
• Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join the coordinated mod effort at /ModCoord.
  
• Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
  
• Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible.
