Couple months ago, a warning for adaptive cruise control failure popped up on my dashboard and has been there since then. My car recently hit 15000 miles so last week I took my car in for service (oil change) and was told that the express service guys can't help me look at the problem with the cruise control so the adviser scheduled a regular service for me this Saturday. After the express service last week, I was told that my rear shock absorbers are leaking also and they will look at it when I bring it in today.
I brought my car to the dealer to get it checked out today, and was told that the rear shock absorbers that's leaking don't fall under the warranty. I asked the adviser that since the part isn't supposed to fail within a year and half and 15000 miles why is it not covered? I was essentially told that since the part isn't supposed to fail that quickly I must have done something to break it so it isn't covered. By that logic what is the point of having warranty? 2024 Subaru Impreza Rs or 2023 Honda civic sports touring? I’m currently driving a 2016 Legacy 2.5i limited, and as much as I do love it, I’m worried about how long it may last. I recently discovered it’s burning a little oil over 5k miles. Between that and the known transmission issues with the cvt. My question is, should I get another Subaru or make my switch to the Honda Civic? Cheers.

I absolutely love the current generation Civics but am holding out on a buying a new car as long as possible. Do you think with the introduction of the hybrid option and further obscuration of manual transmissions it will no longer be offered with the 2.0 L civic? Thanks for any info in advance.

The R has 60k on it, DSG, they want 26.5k usd. WRX is a base model, brand new, 6-speed, 32k.
We are getting rid of the '22, civic sport hatch 6m, can't stand its lack of power, and mine must be a lemon or some bs because it's the worst standard trans ice ever driven, and some of the roughest suspension I've ever felt...
Looking for a sporty, fun-to-drive car, that's fairly reliable. I know the golf R is typically more reliable than the wrx, but I feel like if they were both babies then it'd be a pretty fair match-up. My wife wants an automatic, but wants the wrx more than the R, due to the awd in it. No cvt options at the dealer for 6+ months, and honda finally quit trying to screw me on my lease and they're going to buy it outright. So we have to act now, a golf R won't last more than a few days around here. Neither will a base model WRX.
Personally, I'm completely split. I dont care which one we get. Theyre both quick enough for me.
Wrx has a lot more room in the trunk, especially with passengers, and will be a bit better in the snow, which we get quite a bit of... But, the Golf R is auto. She can drive it. I've had a gti, and they're tame until you don't want it to be. The wrx seemed to be the same... golf r has a lot more options and a slightly lower price, but isn't available on a lease, and may cost more / month because of that. The 60k miles isn't a big deal, we max out at 10k per year, and the car is really only for the next few years, but we will likely keep the golf r til it dies if we buy it. WRX we would likely get rid of after the lease is up, if not sooner, to get an automatic.
I would love to hear what yall have to say. The subaru seems to be a little more practical, but has a lot less options, like built-in navigation, heated seats, back-seat vents, etc. And my 06 gti never had any electrical issues, and I beat tf out of it... so the extra comfort/luxury in the golf r evens them out in my eyes.

The 60k miles isn't a big deal, we max out at 10k per year, and the car is really only for the next few years, but we will likely keep the golf r til it dies if we buy it. WRX we would likely get rid of after the lease is up, if not sooner, to get an automatic.
I would love to hear what yall have to say. The subaru seems to be a little more practical, but has a lot less options, like built-in navigation, heated seats, back-seat vents, etc. And my 06 gti never had any electrical issues, and I beat tf out of it... so the extra comfort/luxury in the golf r evens them out in my eyes.

I have a 2023 civic hatchback Sport Touring with the TSP tune and ever since I had my windshield replaced I get a warning on my dash saying "brake system problem brake performance may be reduced see your dealer"
When I check for an error code all it says is no active codes. I click clear code and it'll disappear until I turn on my car again. It seems to do this for a few days at a time then will not happen for a few days then start again.
Anyone else have this issue? I have tried flashing back to stock tune and didn't solve the problem so I'm thinking it must be something when the dealership recalibrated the Honda sensing and something isn't working right.

Looking around for a new car to replace my old 2007 chevy aveo. Currently looking at getting a honda civic ex or the sport models . The models would be used one ex model looking at is from 2017 while the sport is from 2019. both are under 80k miles and no accident according to car fax. Only a mechanic will actually be able to tell itf it legit but thought i would throw it out there.
I've done a bit of research honestly feel like the 2.0 just seems more reliable long term.
Background around me im an auditor for my state so I do travel alot for work I would say 20 to 34 miles give or take which some of the longer trips being an hour away.
Although i will be getting work at home privileges in October so my travel to the office which is 20 minutes away from my house would be reduced although it would depend on if i get the information i need electronically or not
Outside of that Im ahomebodyy honestly I pickup groceries, orthodontist, go out to bars with my friends on the weekends not alot though.
Been thinking of getting back into doordash as a side hustle but getting realtors license would be a better use of my time than waring my car down doing that
I live in Indiana so it can get extremely hot and extremely cold Im not in the hilly part of my state its pretty flat
With my current car do get my maintenance done regularly given the car isn't exactly economically friendly at all honestly just sucking me like a leech and with my job requiring travel a new car is necessary figured go with one of the most reliable brands out there
I plan on owning the car for the next 10 years hopefully or well until the wheels fall off. Dont plan on doing any mods no tunes only thing i would change out honestly would be the radio and installing a joying radio.
I've read that 1.5 have issues of oil dilution although it seems to have gotten better with 2019 and beyond and the AC system kinda ironic the ac system would be bad on a modern car but those are two basic issues ive seen where it caused people to sell their civics or pay thousands in repairs
I havent read to many issues with the transmission seems good on that front but if anyone has dealt with issues with transmission i would like to hear about it.

I've done a bit of research honestly feel like the 2.0 just seems more reliable long term.
Background around me im an auditor for my state so I do travel alot for work I would say 20 to 34 miles give or take which some of the longer trips being an hour away.
Although i will be getting work at home privileges in October so my travel to the office which is 20 minutes away from my house would be reduced although it would depend on if i get the information i need electronically or not
Outside of that Im ahomebodyy honestly I pickup groceries, orthodontist, go out to bars with my friends on the weekends not alot though.
Been thinking of getting back into doordash as a side hustle but getting realtors license would be a better use of my time than waring my car down doing that
I live in Indiana so it can get extremely hot and extremely cold Im not in the hilly part of my state its pretty flat
With my current car do get my maintenance done regularly given the car isn't exactly economically friendly at all honestly just sucking me like a leech and with my job requiring travel a new car is necessary figured go with one of the most reliable brands out there
I plan on owning the car for the next 10 years hopefully or well until the wheels fall off. Dont plan on doing any mods no tunes only thing i would change out honestly would be the radio and installing a joying radio.
I've read that 1.5 have issues of oil dilution although it seems to have gotten better with 2019 and beyond and the AC system kinda ironic the ac system would be bad on a modern car but those are two basic issues ive seen where it caused people to sell their civics or pay thousands in repairs
I havent read to many issues with the transmission seems good on that front but if anyone has dealt with issues with transmission i would like to hear about it.

There is an excitement-generating quality about American Motors' new Pacer that calls to mind the days when we spent most of the fall frothing at Detroit's new cars as they appeared one by one in our hometown showrooms. The Pacer is lovable, and you feel an instinctive urge to take it home—like a rubber ducky, to put in your bathtub to play with. Detroit has finally issued a car to which people are reacting. The Pacer was supposedly designed from the inside out, the theory being that claustrophobic Americans who have thus far resisted small cars with small interiors will go along with a car that is essentially an intermediate with the ends lopped off. If early indications are to be relied upon, the theory is sound. The car seems destined to sell well, if for no other reason than that the buying public seems ready for a new approach to motoring. This the Pacer is. Regarded as a beginning step in the proper direction, the Pacer is as encouraging an offering as Detroit has produced in some time. For once, an automobile advertising campaign is telling the unvarnished truth: A large man is completely comfortable in the driver's seat or as a front-seat passenger. There is ample legroom, and were it not for the fact that your left knee comes to rest against the window crank, matters would leave little to be desired. The steering wheel is well placed and provides the driver with the proper amount of elbow crook; every control is not only within reach but also visible and readable. The same big man can survive in a condition approaching comfort in the rear seat, too. Average-size people will find the rear seat at least as comfortable and roomy as those to be found in the new "precision-size" cars. Compared to the rear compartment of such cars as the Chevy Monza and Ford Mustang II, the Pacer appears to have the proportions of a ballroom. Headroom is the only dimension lacking, but in light of its other benefits, the rear area is still a minor triumph. Interior finish in the Pacer is attractive, if rather utilitarian, and consists largely of molded plastic panels. The dashboard sits well away from the seats, lending reinforcement to the already considerable atmosphere of spaciousness. The front seats are large, well-proportioned, and sturdy; the rear seats, like all rear seats, are certainly not as comfortable but are more than serviceable—certainly an improvement over the average small-car rear seat. With a body area that's almost one-third glass, visibility is one of the car's strongest suits. Looking at the innovative Pacer silhouette, it's easy to conjure up visions of scooting through traffic like a family-size Honda Civic. Sadly, this is not the case. There are two engines available in the Pacer, both inline-sixes (232 and 258 cubic inches). If you demand head-snapping acceleration, neither is equal to the task. If, however, you are content to motor along in a sane and economical fashion, all is not lost. The Pacer will handle this kind of service easily, if unspectacularly. But it is slow enough to make it all too obvious that the fun, the outright enjoyment, its peppy appearance promises simply is not there. Certainly not with the larger engine and the Chrysler-built three-speed automatic. With this powertrain, the Pacer took 20.4 seconds to negotiate the quarter-mile, attaining a speed of only 65.8 mph. The Pacer's steering, handling, and ride are traditionally American. Rack-and-pinion steering has been made a part of the Pacer's standard equipment, but it has been damped to the point of numbness. The car's front cross-member is damped and insulated also, both from the body and from the engine, to help lower the noise level. If ride quality concerns you, you will find the Pacer excellent. While there is admitted insulation from the road, the sensation is not at all like a wallowing full-size car with mushy suspension—it is like a good, well-ordered intermediate car. The Pacer's handling suffers a bit from its weight (3432 pounds) and its high center of gravity, which contribute to the car's pronounced understeer in low-speed cornering. The short wheelbase and wide track do, however, aid high-speed maneuvering. The Pacer's braking could stand improvement, again because of the car's high gravity center and heaviness. There is an alarming amount of dive under hard braking, giving you the impression that the front bumper is about to tuck under and roll up. The Pacer required 205 feet to stop from 70 mph. By comparison, a Mazda stops in 192 feet while the Mustang II, another middleweight, takes 213 feet of pavement. The car appears set up for optimum braking with a full load, which ought to be reconsidered in light of prevailing motoring habits. With too much rear brake bias, the rear wheels tend to lock. More bias on the front discs would probably help. Here's what to consider if the Pacer personality appeals to you: You'll get a car made largely from proven components; a car that you can enter or exit without braining yourself; a car that you can sit in and see out of with ease and enjoyment; a car that is pleasing to operate and offers reasonable economy. Granted, you will not get eye-popping acceleration and sports-car handling, but you will get a car that is a new design representing a new approach to American motoring.
