TLDR: My manager who is older than me consistently texts me and we enjoy each others company.
I'm going to try and keep this short but there's a lot of background info to go over.
3 months ago I(16F) started a new job in fast food for summer, I instantly became friends w all my coworkers and enjoy the job a lot. One of my first friends there (18F who we will call Lily) was on the surface really nice. The more we hung out and I met other people, Lily wasn't as cool as she seemed. She sexualized me constantly(aswell as many other coworkers) and continue to pursue a relationship with me even after she started dating a different coworker. I ended separating myself from them.
Lily was at one point the “top of the foodchain” (AKA she slept with the whole store). She pinned me against my manager (19M who we will care George). She told me many times how George changed so much when he became a manager and he wasn't nice. They also had a history. For a long time I took Lilys word, but she ended up getting a second job and working less so I became closer with cooler coworkers.
This is where the weird stuff starts. Me and George ended up working nights together like everyday. He makes the schedule so I genuinely didn't think much of this. We talked a lot and he ended up becoming one of my favorite Co-Workers. Genuinely a funny guy. He's super genuine and has a wholesome heart and we laugh about stupid shit all shift.
One day George told me he has an cat, and I wanted to see it. So he added me on snap chat to show me. Ever since then we snapped a lot, soon becoming pretty high on the bestfriends list. I didn't think of it odd until he started today stuff that threw me off. He would call me pretty, ask if I was ok, always keep the conversation going, and make it a point to tell me he's not seeing anyone.
Now it maybe me overthinking, but I also feel like I can't tell anyone because there's a large age gap and it's my manager.

I know Apple's iOS App Store couldn't give me the newer version since it wanted iOS v13 or newer. This old iPhone can't go above v12.5.7. Does CARROT not work anymore on these iOS devices :(

Greetings!
During my last visit to Istanbul I have tried a desert I never tried before. It was sold all across the city in restaurants, stores like MMMigros and in some bakeries. Basically, it was a mason jar with a lid on it, filled with beige white substance resembling thick cream or a custard of sorts, with a sort of very light milky-vanilla taste, not too sweet. A very peculiar flavor, no sourness to it so I don't think it was a yoghurt?
On top of the cream lay a layer of crumbled cookies.
On the bottom of the jar lay a bunch of cut-up bananas, intermixed with the cream. I have made a schematic from memory: https://imgur.com/a/Fgn8gA9
I never figured out the name of this desert, since nothing was ever written on the jar. When I asked, people told me it is just "a fruit desert" or "a banana desert" without naming a specific name. I ate around 20 jars of it, 2-3 every day. I think it was the tastiest thing I have tried in my whole life. All food in Turkey was beyond amazing, but this stuff... Man, I have no words to describe how good it was.
What is it called? What are the ingredients? I need a specific name that I can google, because I really want to try and prepare it at home, but I can't figure out what it was made of. My country doesn't have anything even slightly resembling this dish so when I describe it to people, they think I made it up. But I know it exists. Thank you in advance.

Hey all.
So after two separate spine surgeries over 6 years, I returned to work with doctors notes. Several in fact. From the surgeon and from physiotherapist during recovery. I handed those in to my employer and never heard about them again. I inquired and was told “you are on modified” but I was not given any form to sign (which I know exists).
Is this illegal or simply an ethical “grey area”? Does it not violate the Employment Standards Act or Ontario Human Rights Code of Conduct in any way? Or any labour laws for that matter?
I believe management either withheld this knowingly but it could have been negligence from the bookkeeper who usually handles paperwork such as this.
It’s a retail grocery store and we are unionized. The union has been unhelpful. (The company is toxic and the union is the worst I’ve ever been a part of). Sigh.

So I was playing a game with this video about the IRL locations of liminal spaces playing on my other monitor. Suddenly I hear the name of the city I used to live in so I look over. Apparently the original "The End" image was taken inside of a Border's book store in Yorba Linda, California which is the same exact city I lived in for years. That's already coincidental, but then as it turns out the bookstore was turned into a Sprout's Farmer's Market.
THE SAME EXACT SPROUT'S FARMER'S MARKET THAT I HAVE BEEN SHOPPING AT WITH MY FAMILY MULTIPLE TIMES. I'm actually creeped the fuck out at the fact that I have seen "The End" image for years at this point and now I know I have LITERALLY BEEN SHOPPING IN AND AROUND THE EXACT SPOT IT WAS ORIGINALLY TAKEN?!

I would like to get a notification sent to my iPhone when my iPad’s battery drops to at least 20%. My question for the community, is something like this possible? And if so, how would I go about setting this up?

I haven't been diagnosed with BPD, but after this breakup I feel highly suspected that I have it after doing a lot of research and self reflection. Or at least cptsd, irdk.

Either way, as a vent, this has been one of the worst months ever for me. Within this month, my 2 y/o puppy was spayed, after 5 days, had a complication where a small portion of her intestine fell out (it would've all came out if we hadn't quickly bandaged it and took her to the emergency vet), and during her second recovery time, I had spent the entire night every day watching her breath so my mother wouldn't have to do it all on her own, as well as helping out during the day time. During this month, I also had the stress of having my own surgery which is coming up in a week to remove my gallbladder, and basically change my digestive life forever, so during the time before the surgery, I've been in chronic pain (which is why it needs out) During the time of watching my puppy, I neglected my relationship (for context, we've been together for 2.5 years and have lived together the entire time. We're both art college students age 20, but we were always very great at commicating and had a bond, except during long due to our own traumas, texting was harder and we'd struggle communicating more) (right now he's 5 hours away bc we're home during college break and live in differeng states) and basically, we hadn't been able to call or text this entire time bc of our conflicting schedules.
Well, we got into a fight through text last week. The next day, we still fought a little but he refused to call. In his friends gc I'm in, I said something not related at all which was heavily taken the wrong way. One of his friends sent a message accusing me of something awful. Immediately, I was panicking and made an impulsive decision. After freaking out to him through text and the lack of feeling like he cared, I told my boyfriend impulsively how I couldn't handle the relationship and its over etc etc (something I truly regret)
He responded, "okay 👍", and that was that. Que all my frantic texts and apologies once I realized what I did, he refused to want to call to talk about it. Mind you, this entire talk had been through text. I wanted to call to communicate. Im soneone who highly values talking things through amd hearing his feelings. He said he didn't want to talk and would let me know when he could, bc he said he was hurting too and needed space. I respected that, no no more texting, no attempts at calls. Que a whole 7 days go by of me just panicking, in emotional pain every day, waiting for him, reflecting, learning about myself, wauting to have this call where i tell him all that i learned, what i feel bad about, what his feelings are, how i want to turn a new leaf, etc. During the time, I was under the impression that before we were going to 100% end things, we'd call about it first. But nope, during that whole week, while I was waiting, checking my phone every 2 seconds, he was moving on. He was completely moved on by the time I contacted him again. He wpuld send messages like "stop worrying so much" why wouldnt i be worrying?? We never got to call and its ending so soon! Im missing my best friend and am just now hearing that ill be losing you, while this entire time youve been moving on and putting up an emotional wall!someone who had truly loved me and showed actual genuine care is suddenly texting in a tone of indifference, hatred, etc. And we still hadn't called about it. We're going to do the call today, actually, but, after i prodded and took a risk abd asked him what type of comvo was it/whether he was interested in seeinh where things went instead of already 100% deciding before we talked, he made it clear that there was no chance of a resolution in terms of getting back together, he wants to just continue a friendship. And all in that time he's texting "don't get too worked up over it :)" as if saying "I'm fine. I've moved on. Oh? You didn't know that's what I was doing? I assumed you were coping too, even tho I told you we could call first" If I had known that's what the conversation was going to be, I wouldn't have waited, been in emotional pain, dwelling in hope, checking your Twitter every second. If he had told me upfront what was happening, I could have moved on too. I just feel bitter and angry. It feels cruel that he let me dwell in my loneliness and hope while he avoided feeling anything at all by packing his schedule full every day from 9am-3am with friends. It feels like it was intentionally meant to hurt me.
I am really hurt, during this month alone, my puppy had a terrifying surgical complication, I didn't sleep or eat, I have a surgery scheduled in 5 days, my parents have been fighting, my boyfriend, who we both mutually loved each other, ended things on a dime without calling first or wanting to put in any effort to resolve things, I found out I probably have BPD (reflections based on past interactions and how I've been the entire relationship. Which at this point, now that I know what's wrong with me, I really wanted to make an effort to change/get therapy and have healthier relationships with ppl and to share this news with him to tell him i know how ive been acting and now will make efforts to be a new healthier person now that i can identify my feelings/actions/episodes), I lost my best friend (my boyfriend), litterally also lost all of his friends, which I was friends with too, who have ghosted me, he's ghosted me, my room is in shambles bc I was in the middle of reorganizing everything, I've just been so lonely feeling trapped in a house without a car (my sister has it right now) and no friends, the person I would talk to about everything being gone. I just feel awful, I wish I had known about bpd earlier so i could heal. I wish I hadn't put all my stakes on my ex boyfriend in terms of thinking it'd last forever and not making my own friend group apart from his. And now, all I have to look forward to is instead of rooming with him during college next semester, I have to room with a complete stranger, all alone and with no friends.
This is just a truly miserable experience. I'm booking therapy now and am going to see what I'm diagnosed with. But, either way this is a time I can work on myself now and try to live for myself and not others. Time to start my career, heal from my mental health issues, heal from physical health issues, create my own friend group, and get some independence.

I’m an FY1, but in this scenario I’m the patient, so looking for the perspective of GPs or other doctors if you were the one dealing with me.
Last month I contacted my GP surgery for a referral. I was previously diagnosed overseas but didn’t require any treatment as I wasn’t symptomatic. However symptoms have since recurred, hence I wanted the referral to the local secondary care service.
I didn’t see the GP (or have a tele-consult), but he sent me some forms to fill in and to bring along the relevant documentation. I did so on the same day. It turns out the text message platform they used had no ‘reply’ function that I could attach the forms to. So I went down to the practice. After some discussion the receptionist (R1) said to e-mail them, which I did so, and got R1 to verbally confirm that all required paperwork has been received. Therefore, the next step would be these will be sent to the GP for him to send off the referral.
About two weeks later I called to check on the status of the referral. It was another receptionist (R2) that answered. She told me that on the system it says they are still waiting for my documents. I said I had submitted all required documents on the day itself, and I was told all that’s left is for the GP to complete the referral. So R2 checks again, and says ‘oh yes we do have the documents’, so she changes the tagging(?) such that it is now flagged to the GP for him to complete.
I call again two days later. It is yet another receptionist (R3). To my horror, R3 says ‘no it doesn’t seem like we have the required documents, can you send them over again?’ At this point I was getting very confused and frustrated by the process. Along with re-sending the documents, I included in my e-mail the whole timeline so far, from my point of view.
R3 called me the next day to confirm that the documents are received and have now been sent to the GP. I asked if there was a possibility that my documents (containing my medical history) have been filed under some other patient’s record, given that I have definitely provided them, and apparently now they are not found on the system. R3 said they have checks in place to prevent this. I then asked if R3 could provide a written reply to my e-mail, acknowledging the documents have been received and have been passed on to the GP. She seemed slightly unwilling but eventually did so.
Finally, 28 days after I originally provided the documents, I receive a text saying my GP has sent my referral off.
Yesterday, I happened to see the website of the service I was getting referred to. It mentions that the waiting list is several months, if not a year. At the same time, it mentions possibility of utilising Right to Choose to consider alternative services, including private providers that see NHS-funded patients. I had not known of this possibility before, so I didn’t ask about this initially.
This morning, I rang up the surgery again and after completing the triage form (stating the existing referral but I wanted to discuss RTC), was assigned a same-day phone call from a GP. Unfortunately, the phone rang just as I was in the toilet, so I missed the call. This GP (a different one from before) left a voicemail saying that she would get her secretary to send me some forms to fill in. I contact the secretary and was given the same exact forms I filled in a month ago. I clarify with the secretary if she wants me to fill in the same forms again, given that I had already done so and there is an existing referral in place. The secretary, understandably, doesn’t know and advised me to see if I can speak to the doctor again.
I visit the surgery in-person and spoke with a receptionist (R5). Initially she saw the updates on my record and said no I cannot get another phone call with the GP. I then explained the queries I had, and that I just needed to clarify some things with someone who is aware of the pathways (i.e. the GP). R5 then said she will fill in a form and send it to the GP, and the GP will call me within the day. I asked R5 what time it might be, not to rush them, but just to have some expectation, and was told any time between 1530 and 1830. R5 sounded very understanding to my situation so I was hopeful that I could finally speak to the GP (even if as a phone call).
I went back home to wait. By 1745, I’ve not received a call so I rang the surgery again (their phone lines close at 1800). Another receptionist (R6) answers. R6 tells me that their final appointment was at 1710, and the GP that I was awaiting a call from has long left the surgery. So I explain what I was told. R6 says R5 did fill in a form, but it was categorised as ‘routine referral’, so the wait time is up to 48 hours. Again, this was very different from what I was told, so I asked R6 why R5 would tell me ‘up to 1830’, if the doctor wasn’t even staying till that late? R6 started to say that I was being nit-picky and argumentative, since I would have had to wait either way, since it was up to 48 hours. R6 also said that I should remain focused on the solution, which is to continue to wait for the call.
On the one hand, I get what R6 is saying. On the other, this feels like yet another miscommunication. Therefore, my questioning ‘why’ is not to pinpoint blame, but to find out why there seems to be different things told to me by different members of staff. If R5 had told me ‘48 hours’ from the start, I would have tailored my expectations accordingly, and need not have called again at 1745.
It has felt like different receptionists are seeing different things from my record, even though there should only be one version of it. Because a lot of the communication was done verbally (via telephone), I don’t have any written documentation e.g. e-mails that I can use to refer back on.
For those that have read all this, do you feel at any point I was being an ‘unreasonable’ or ‘difficult patient’? I know how GPs (and practically the entire NHS) is struggling at the moment, so I do try and be understanding, but it is very frustrating to be told different things by different people. Throughout the conversations I have not raised my voice at anyone. But what R6 said made me wonder if I might not have been as calm and measured as I thought I was being? Keen to hear others’ opinions.

I(19f) recently got into a long distance relationship with my current bf(39m). We were having rough patches at the beginning of the relationship, but we worked them out. It was going well, until this morning. He was playing his game with some friends and I sat up waiting for him so we can talk. He finally finished at 2am. We were texting at first, then we started talking. We weren’t saying much as I just got off of work also and was a bit tired, but slowly we started talking.
I was laying in bed on my phone. I was watching tiktoks, but then I saw I had unanswered messages. I left this person on seen for days. So I started to text them. He heard the keyboard sound. He asked was I texting. I said yes. Next he asked, who was I texting. I choked up here, because like I said earlier we had rough patches. He would usually leave and block me. Not telling me what I did. So I lied. I told him I was texting him. In reality I was texting someone else. It was nothing romantic or flirty. It was about a game.
After that he started to get silent. I can tell he was there because it was noise. I asked a couple questions like, “what’s wrong?” and “do u want to play a game with me?” He answered the question about the game. We are trying to work on communication, so I also said, “remember you said that you would talk to me when things bother you.” Then he hung up. I been ignored all day today. I still didn’t tell him that I was texting someone else.
I am here asking for help? Because I don’t know if I should let him be right now or try and fix it. All this is new to me. I really love him though and would do anything to make it right. I don’t want to lose him😔

What's going on?
On May 31, 2023, Reddit made an announcement that surprised many. The long and short of it is Reddit is rolling out changes to their API pricing and schemes to change them from more or less free for all, to a pricing schema that could potentially wipe out every third-party Reddit app, including but not limited to Apollo, Reddit is Fun, Narwhal, and BaconReader.
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators (us included) depend on tools only available outside the official app/new reddit to keep our community (mostly) on-topic and (relatively) spam-free.
Will COW go dark?
As a mod team, we've had a discussion on how to proceed, since several of our tools are impacted by these changes. Transparently, the originally planned protest directly impacted our community by coinciding with Midseason Madness so we were a bit up in the air about it. With the change to June 12th, this is no longer the case and we too will be going dark commencing June 12th.
Many other subreddits will be going dark to protest this planned policy at the same time. A partial list can be found here. During this time, submissions to these subs will be turned off, and the sub will be set to private. Nothing will be lost, the sub just won't be viewable by users.
Given the proximity to OWL’s Midseason Madness in Korea, we recognize that some sites and publications rely heavily on our sub for publicity and coverage and form an important part of our community, and would be adversely impacted by an extended blackout. We will go dark on June 12th for at least 48 hours, and make calls on the mod team on how exactly we want to proceed as the situation develops, and are actively looking at ways to support the protest agains these API prices without negatively harming our community during an important and exciting event.
What can users do?

1. Complain loudly and vehemently (but politely). If you see posts about third-party apps or the API changes, upvote them. Leave negative reviews on the official app on Google Play and the App Store.
2. Boycott. We recommend you stay off Reddit entirely on the dates of the protest. Reddit's users are its currency, and without its users, Reddit has no value to its shareholders. If you have the official Reddit app installed on your phone, delete it (uninstall reports are sent back to Reddit).
3. Complain more. Message the mods of /reddit.com, who are the admins of the site. Message reddit, submit a support request, comment in relevant threads on /reddit, and so on.

I got fed up recently with being constantly infantilized and underestimated at my job and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's because I don't wear makeup or dress like a damn grownup. I'm tired of it so I've decided I would actively work on it.
The biggest problem I've run into is the decision overload of trying to find a tutorial and then use it to help me get ready. I couldn't find an active or effective subreddit (which is genuinely a shock to me) so I made one and started sharing tutorials I wanted to use later. Now when I need to get ready I will click on the shortcut on my phone to take me to the subreddit and use the flair to sort by the thing I'm doing that day (work, date, casual day etc) and do whatever look pops up first that I have the stuff to do.
I hate that I suck so much at this and I hate spending so much time researching only to have to do it all over the next time I have the energy to actually put my face on. So if anyone else is in the same boat I would really love some help getting this subreddit fully operational. I feel like a couple of the right autistic women could harness their hyperfocus to help me compile a Makeup bible that we can reference when we need to.

Tier 2 tech support is so bad. These reps rarely take phone calls. They have 20-40 minute open time In between calls, yet act bothered and annoyed when you call them. They try to refuse the call and push the work back on you 1/2 the time. They enjoy the luxury of not even 10 calls a day, while tier one tech support takes 25-40 calls a day, with also helping general customer service calls. I think the restructuring is a wake up call for a lot of lazy reps that take their free time and minimal call volume for granted. Enjoy it while you can, and some of y’all should consider taking severance if you already can’t handle more than 2 calls an hour

I’m asking this here on the off-chance anyone might know. I’ve been doing quite a lot of research into this atrocity but there are a few outstanding questions that I haven’t been able to find any answers on. It is my belief that Seamus McKenna (died in 2013) was the driver of the bomb car and that a person with initials EM was the passenger.
