Freemasonry, a fraternity that revels in its storied history and enduring principles, unfortunately, isn't without its systemic issues. These issues, often swept under the grand tapestry of tradition and secrecy, deserve to be examined and discussed in broad daylight.
Firstly, the issue of elitism is rampant within the Freemason organization. Rather than a brotherhood of equals, it often feels more like a hierarchical society where rank and seniority overshadow the core principles of fraternity. There's an unspoken caste system, with the 'higher-ups' basking in their self-importance while treating newer or lower-ranking members as insignificant. This ego-driven approach defiles the very essence of fraternity Freemasonry claims to champion.
Secondly, there's an inescapable culture of gatekeeping and exclusivity. A fraternity that is supposed to promote universal brotherhood ends up resembling an exclusive club more than a gathering of like-minded individuals. The stringent membership requirements and the air of secrecy only serve to make Freemasonry appear inaccessible and unwelcoming.
Lastly, let's not forget the lack of accountability within Freemasonry's ranks. When members act in ways that are against the fraternity's principles, there are rarely any real consequences. It's this culture of impunity that fosters an environment where the 'brotherly love' Freemasonry touts is replaced by backbiting, gossip, and pettiness.

Selling everything I’ve collected so far with regards to manga, light novels, and merch. Shipping is a flat $5 for media mail for purchases up to 8 volumes. Anything over 8 volumes will depend on volume count. I’m not looking to split the larger volume sets, but will sell the single volume, or volumes at the end. So there are a couple more incredible story and visual details I wanted to bring up and encourage some discussion on (I've seen the film four times now, I have a problem).
Pavitr:
The film makes sure to note how new Pavitr is to being Spider-Man. He's only six months in and he claims that being Spider-Man is "sooooo easy!" (something we know is absolutely not true). He's given his (implied) first "playbook" Spider-Man challenge when saving civilians from the collapsing Alchemax building. While holding onto a bus filled with people, including his love interest, he sees that Inspector Singh is in mortal danger and tells himself that he "can do both", he can save everyone. This directly mirrors Miles's current situation as well as Miles's current attitude. However, Pavitr isn't the main protagonist of the story, we can see that he can't do both (while reassuring himself he can "do both" he begins to wrap the single thread of web suspending the bus full of people onto one of the small concrete grid rods sticking out of the collapsed bridge he's hanging onto), he can't save everyone, Miles had to intervene for everyone to be saved. Miles's intervention is mirrored by Gwen and her band's intervention in helping Miles in the next film. However, Pavitr's dimension collapsing could foreshadow that the band's help won't actually address and resolve the moral problem presented. Pavitr was spared the pain of losing Inspector Singh, but he was also denied this opportunity to grow, he wasn't challenged to forge ahead in the face of the death of someone close to him.
George Stacy:
Aside all the current analysis on George Stacy's role in proving that canon can be subverted as well as Gwen's "coming out" character arc to her father, there's a parallel between George and Miles that I don't see anyone talking about. One of the core themes of Across the Spider-Verse is responsibilities, specifically conflicting responsibilities (the moral dilemma). George Stacy does not only possess responsibility as a father, but he possesses responsibility as a cop. When Gwen is revealed to be Spider-Woman to him, his two responsibilities are immediately made incompatible with one another. He's forced into a position to choose one responsibility over another, he chooses to be a father over being a cop. This further plays into another theme in the film, "you can't have it all". In George Stacy's little monologue, "police captain" is interchangeable with "Spider-Man", the mask is the badge and vice versa. Miles is in a position now where, with the information given to him and us the audience, his responsibility as Spider-Man is in conflict with his responsibility as a son. He may ultimately have to make a choice to uphold one responsibility and abandon the other. We want Gwen Stacy to come out on top, so having George quit the responsibility of police captain is great for her and for us, but having Miles quite the responsibility of being Spider-Man is a much more morally challenging choice.
Clearing up Jeff Davis's role in Prowler Miles / Miles-42's life:
I've been seeing some debate online on whether Miles-42's dad had been absent from his upbringing or whether he had died recently (similarly to the timeline of Uncle Aaron's death). When the "camera" follows Miles-1610 around his Earth-42 home variant, the family photos only contain him and his mom. When the camera follows Gwen around Miles's Earth-1610 home variant, the family photos contain all three members of the Davis/Morales family. Both characters are used as tour guides to subtly inform the audience that Jeff has been dead for most of Miles-42's life and wasn't a large part of his upbringing (not a recent death).
Peter B. Parker:
I absolutely love Peter's monologue to Miles about "good" things and "bad" things happening. His message to Miles is a much more emotionally touching and charitable version of the current status quo of what it means to be Spider-Man. The message highlights that there will always be bad things that happen, you can't always stop them from happening, you probably often can't stop them from happening, but you have to take the good with the bad, you have to find a reason to keep going (rest in power Uncle Aaron), you have to make a reason to keep going. Struggling and fighting more and more against the bad actively prevents you from finding that good and those reasons, trying to shut down the all the harm and all the pain now furiously and stubbornly creates more harm by shutting down the good you could've fostered in healing and moving on (a much better version of Miguel's point). Peter is a more optimistic and emotionally charitable version of Miguel in reiterating this point and approach on Spider-Man as a character, and this compassion encouraged Miles to begin processing this point of view. However, the watch's beeper prevented us from getting to see Miles begin to seriously consider this approach.
Miles's Strength:
Miles speech to his Earth-42 variant of his mom was incredible. The line "I know how strong I am now" has beat me with an emotional stick during each of my four viewings. To go through exactly what his mom foreshadowed he would go through and to come out with an experience that validates his identity and his claim to the Spider-Man mantle of power is the kind of self-discovery that inspires us to be strong, assertive, independent, and charitable to ourselves. But here's the thing, Miles's strength hasn't faced the ultimate test yet. He hasn't yet come face to face with the death of his dad and the destruction of his universe. His immediate and current moral decision is to still risk the safety of everything else and everyone else to rescue his father (see Pavitr). He thinks he can save everyone, he thinks he can have it all, he doesn't actually know how strong he is yet.

I’ve been no contact with my mom for years. Honestly I’ve lost track of how long, but at least 3. She drinks heavily. She’s terribly verbally and emotionally abusive. She’s a mess. She barely functions. My brother and her are deeply codependent and enmeshed and by default I am also estranged from him. Just a few minutes ago I got a Facebook message from my aunt, her sister, that read “Jesus loved you your mom was hit by a car.” And all I could do was laugh. It’s comical how insane my life with my parents has been. My aunt is deeply religious and a fundamentalist Christian. She enables my mom. I don’t really stay in touch with my aunt either. She frequently tells me things about my mom that I just don’t need to know.
I have no other details. I’d assume if it was really bad or she was dead my aunt who lives locally to us or my brother would reach out. My sister hasn’t heard anything. When I called her, we both just laughed at the absurdity of the message and the fact that it was just a matter of time before something like this happened.
And now there’s this familiar weight on my chest and anxious ball in the pit of my stomach. I’m home with my kids. There’s nothing I can do. The first person I instinctually wanted to reach out to is someone I can’t call. He’s really the only other ACOA I know and made me feel very seen when I shared anything about the crap with my mom. But that’s not an option. So here I am. I just needed to share this somewhere.

I'm new here and this is probably a story you've seen a million times, but here goes. I (39m) had gallbladder issues on and off for 3+ years, and they really started ramping up after pretty quick weight loss last summer. Now ironically I work in dentistry and tell people about taking care of wisdom teeth before they attack you on Christmas eve. So naturally, on Christmas Eve after a big fatty meal, it started. Worst symptoms I've had yet. Sweating, fetal position, and finally vomiting, none of which had ever happened before. After vomiting I felt OK. I figured after the holidays I'll finally get this thing out. On Christmas day, I felt OK in the morning but it slowly started coming back, and long story short, I was in the ER at 11 PM Christmas night. BP was 190/110 from the pain when it's usually very healthy. Thanks to a lack of surgeons and rooms, I laid in the ER for 36 hours on Dilaudid (fentanyl did literally nothing to the pain) before I got surgery. The doc said my gallbladder was essentially dead and severely infected and I was lucky to get it laparoscopically.
Thankfully, aside from wearing a drain for a week it went well, I've felt great (in fact my digestive system is better than ever), and those little moments where I think to myself that I'm free of gallbladder issues are just so satisfying.
So, if you know you have issues, get that bad boy out asap (if recommended by medical professionals, of course).

Many years back, going on 20 years now, my uncle gave (or loaned- I'm really uncertain of the specific parameters, as I was 13, totally detached from their "deal") a large sum to my mom (his sister)/parents so that they could put a downpayment on a house. He lives overseas and was doing well at the time, and wanted to help- we were a one-income family, my dad extremely hard-working, with no real light on the horizon insofar as getting out of our crappy tiny apartment. Needless to say, my uncle greatly helped us. I always loved him so much, since I was a little boy- I wanted to be exactly like him, and followed him around anytime we'd visit "back home" every summer. I just couldn't get enough of him, and honestly felt this way well into my late-teens/early-20's. After we got that first house, my mom talked him into sending more, for a second "investment" house, which they flipped not long after and then put the money into yet another home, which my parents held for several years. I was never told the extent of their deal, and finances were generally kept very hush-hush at home.
Well, turns out both homes had a second mortgage taken out on them, as well as lines of credit, none of which could possibly ever be paid off on my dads income. Dad tragically passed a few years back, and it was my mum and I left. Just a couple weeks ago we were forced to sell the second "investment" home under market value, and due to their poor decision-making, were left with an absolute joke of a sum after repaying the debt on the house. The last several years, my uncle had been getting increasingly hostile towards my mom, demanding she sell this home and repay him as he himself had fallen on hard times and could've definitely benefitted from the money. Again, I don't know if it was a gift or a loan at the onset, but it seems like it was a loan judging on his behaviour- and I don't blame him whatsoever... it's strained relations between my mom, who I love more than anything, and myself on far too many occasions. Well, because of the joke sum she'll be left with after the sale is finalized, she won't be able to send him anything, and likely won't disclose the house sold to him.
Now, additionally, it looks like we're going to lose our primary residence house of 20 years, as it's just no longer sustainable whatsoever- it never was, but now especially not. There's literally nothing I can do to stop it or delay it further- my income is nothing in comparison to what's needed to upkeep this giant charade I wish they'd never embarked on. Feels like it was all playing theatre for 20 years, spending 20 years in a house and an area we never could afford in the first place. I understand they wanted better and more for themselves- and they absolutely deserved it; they were the very best parents-, but it just wasn't the right move for them, given their financial situation, which was never good.
Worst of all, to get by, my uncle sold a portion of the land our family home sits on "back home", which is split between him and my mom, to an actual gangster. This gangster once tried reaching out to me on Facebook saying he wanted to talk, but I ignored the message request- I want nothing to do with him. I believe my uncle also lost another property, which he ran his business out of for years, to this guy somehow. I don't know the extend to which my uncle is tied up with these people, but I do know that human life has very little value to them, and I wholeheartedly believe that my mom would be a walking dead woman, should she ever return to her hometown... which, the thought that we can never show our faces again in the town I spent visiting my grandparents every summer during my most formative years... my second home..., absolutely destroys me. My mom is naive and thinks she'd be safe of any such horrendous fate, but she's oblivious to the types of people she's been made deeply involved with now. Her life means everything to me- I'd give my own for hers-, but is worth a mere few hundred Euros to these people. I also believe they'd make the trek to a nearby country where my dad is from, where his grave is, should they find out we were visiting there (which they easily could, as her brother is in contact with my dads family). Additionally, I feel I might suffer a similar fate should I ever return there, as my uncle seems to have developed a downright hatred for me as well- somehow tying me into this, despite the fact I had absolutely zero to do with this whole thing... again, I was just 13 when they made whatever agreement was made between them.
It is a truly impossible-to-escape scenario, requiring immense sums of money I'll never have access to, to right these grave wrongs. It is what's eating me up and day and night, causing a strain on my relationship to my mother, who, again, is the person I love and care for most deeply in this world. We live together, and this has caused many hurdles, and for an at-times very toxic home environment. I don't know how to get past this... it really feels like our deaths will be the final solution in this, and as if we're both living on borrowed time. It's eating me alive.

Facts about me:

• I have been roleplaying since 2012. Yes, I got experience under my belt, and yes, my ideas usually have really long reads, but don't let that scare you off! After the starter is off, I may lower myself down to a decent paragraph or two, sometimes three! It all depends on what I've got to work with.
  
• My timezone is EST. I'm awake from 9am - 2am and I'm usually free unless I'm busy doing house chores, out of the house, asleep, or playing video games on my switch. I'm usually become REALLY active at or around 8pm.

1: if you don't like 50/50 mixture of sex scenes and story, don't bother hopping into my inbox. I'm fine with sex scenes, but when it's constantly back to back, the roleplay itself gets boring.
2: Be literate. No one liners. I like to write..it's annoying when I send a 2-3 paragraph response and I get 3 lines...just...no. I am not accepting people who are just starting out! If you aren't experienced in writing or roleplaying, kindly stay out of my inbox.
3: Be okay with playing canon characters. I'm mainly doing fandom roleplays right now and it's going to be Canon x my oc. No, I'm not doing double ups. Do not even ask, because the answer will be no every time. I do not give a shit if you think that makes me 'lazy' or 'selfish', if you've got a problem, you can simply ignore or block me. Commenting on my post to bitch and whine about me not doubling up will only result in me blocking you. The ONLY time I'll double up, and if I'm confident enough, I'll only do female characters. I suck at males. Got a problem? Not my issue. Block and move on.
4: Roleplay in third person. I can't and won't adapt to first. Don't even bring up the idea of you playing first person and me playing third. Believe it or not, I've been asked this twice and that is just a hell no for me. The only time I do first, is when I'm writing into my book.
5: if you don't know how to share ideas, then don't bother messaging me. I'm tired of carrying the story when the other person doesn't help. If you've got ideas, then PLEASE speak up! Your opinion on the roleplay matters too! I'm an easy going person, and easy to get along with (dispite my rules).

HOWEVER, if it's highly necessary and needed, then run it by me first and ask me. Just leave me some wiggle room so I can make a decent response. Yes, I've updated my rules just a tad. I do not care if it makes me sound mean or rude, because I'm neither of these things. I'm just tired of putting these rules down for a specific reason and they go ignored because I can tell when someone hasn't read them, and lied about it. There is always toxicity in any community but with the addition of modern controls there will now be an "us vs them" mentality added to the toxicity that is like a 10x multiplier. Go look at asynchronous games like Dead by Daylight if you want an example.

I’m rewatching and have quite the excel workbook going.
I think the most important validations are:

1. The symbol (Jade/Christopher’s) is a map. (I made an earlier post about this.) Source: when Tab and Ethan go to drop Off the belongings of Frank, Lauren, and Meagen… Ethan says: “But for the lonely dragon, all the stuff was treasure. And guess what. In one of the big piles of stuff, there was a map of the rainbow sky” Later… Jade discovers his symbol- the one I am sure represents a map somehow. Whether it’s the shape of the land (Victors side island drawing) or the trees moving or the line’s intersecting to create “the lake of tears”. The symbol is a map.

Side note; 8 is very important number in this story. Spiders have 8 legs (spider references all over, 8 is the number of push outs in the map, father Khatri is sitting in a circle of 8 stones where he buried his secret, 8 directions on a map (n, s, e w, and the four between).

1. Father Khatri is an UNRELIABLE NARRATOR he advocated for frank to be put in the box, then thinks Sara should be spared (without her telling him of the voices) and makes references to NO BOOKS OF THE BIBLE in town (see screenshot). While it may not be a Bible there are books of Bible stories in town.
   
2. Root cellar- much much more to be found there. Jade sees symbol on ceiling after seeing a person crushed by a round boulder (stone that falls In caverns?), Victor hid there from Christopher to find everyone dead when he came out, Ballerina comes out from there with the visions…
   
3. In Universe “Creelmans Cola”… it’s everywhere. The school (hospital), gas station (bar) inside and out, it’s everywhere.
   

Quick google- Creelman started a company for non soda soda- it is basically juice and seltzer. Interestingly- the Mathew’s were drinking strawberry bubbly and grapefruit bubbly in the RV. I noticed bc I don’t drink soda. In real life a man named Creelman started the Spindrift sodas (juice and bubbly water- healthy soda, not really soda)… but I think there’s something to the fact that all the other advertising is generic. I can post pics.

We must separate the people that are telling us the truth from the people that just want to become famous from the subject. A lot of people here have put their faith in a military figure recently: Chris Mellon. He was the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, a high ranking official in the government. Surely, he would know things about black projects and such right? Well, he recently published anOp-ed in Politico where he states that he knows there are UFO crash retrievals in the government and that the public has the right to know. Surely, he is our friend, he is one of us. Well, let me tell you why he is not our friend. He is an ex-government official; we should not trust him. Here is a quote from an interview he had with Leslie Keane in 2016 from the Huffington Post:

“I Highly doubt DoD (Department of Defense) or any other government agency is concealing UFO information. I participated in a comprehensive review of DoD’s black programs and spent over a decade conducting oversight of the national foreign intelligence program, an almost totally separate world of secrets. I visited Area 51 and other military, intelligence and research facilities. During all those years, I never detected the faintest hint of government interest or involvement in UFO’s.”

So, he is stating that when he was in a position of power, a place where he would absolutely know most of the secrets about black projects that would involve UFO’s, he doubted that the Department of Defense was not concealing any UFO information. He said he spent over a decade doing oversite and he couldn’t find any evidence of UFO’s. This statement was made a year before he and Lue Elizondo came with the New York Times story, which so happened to be published by the same Leslie Keane. I don’t know about you, but this seems a little suspicious. Just a year earlier he didn’t know anything but a year later he came out with a story on the New York Times revealing these videos and believing the United States is in possession of UFO’s? Something doesn’t add up.
Have you noticed that in this subject, it’s always the same characters doing either interviews or podcasts with each other? Leslie Keane interviewing Lue Elizondo or Chris Mellon. The same Leslie who recently made a documentary with Hulu about UFO’s, featuring, yeah, you guessed it, Lue Elizondo and Chris Mellon. Why would Mr. Mellon say in 2016 that he doesn’t know anything about UFO’s and spent 10 years doing oversight, yet just a year later change his mind and believe the US has retrieved non-human materials? It doesn’t help that Leslie Keane believes in ghosts and the afterlife and claims she talked with her dead mother via a medium.
Maybe we should investigate these character heads a little better and then pass judgement. Maybe Chris Mellon really did change in a year, and he went from being a non-believer to knowing it all. The question is, do you believe him based on facts? Or do you believe him based on his ranking? Suddenly, we trust all ex-military guys. When we know most of them have been lying on this subject? I don’t know but an ex-government guy that says he could NOT find evidence of UFOs for 10 years who suddenly says they exist, and the government is reverse engineering them sounds suspicious to me. What’s your take on this?

For some reason my wife became the worst momzilla when planning her son’s weddings. I tried to help out in small ways that I can but didn’t want to overstep my boundaries as a stepfather. I’m fine with that and I respect my step son and his future wife.
I know my wife has issue with her ex-husband and his current wife since their marriage was the result of an affair. I get that.
My wife started being pushy around the engagement and her and the bride do not get along. My wife was excluded from bridal dress shopping and then flowers shopping. She slowly went the bitter route and I tried to defend her with her son and her ex. She had a dress picked out and it was hemmed. It was a light blue approved by the bride to match the wedding colors my tux was tailored to a similar shade. This has been planned for months and months.
My wife got in an argument with the brides mom at rehearsal and we skipped out on rehearsal dinner. I told my wife to go find a spa and relax. Show time was tomorrow and it’s just one day.
So she goes off for the rest of the day. Next day she has a beaded white evening gown. She said no one is going to forget she gave birth the the groom. l’m dead embarrassed. It’s selfish and I begged her not to do this. I said I’m not going to the wedding if she does this and she yelled at me to back her up. I said if she wore that dress to the wedding that I’m not going. She said she was. I left. She she went to the wedding in that dress and was told to change by everyone. She eventually did before the ceremony but by that time I was already dead drunk at my brother’s place and couldn’t make it. My wife was mad but there’s no way I could show my drunken face after all of that. I’ve been staying with my brother since and I don’t know if I can come back from this with my wife. I sent my apologies to the bride, her family and my stepson and they have all been extremely supportive to me concerning the situation.

I feel like a coward. Mentally, i think I'm already dead, i pulled a trigger there a long time ago so everyday is just the same; feeling nothing/not sleeping/not showering and just not really doing anything. Sometimes a week or two will go by and it'll be like I'm high, like my brain is having one last hurrah and everything will be great but I always know that it's going to come crashing down again. I live in a pretty dysfunctional household; a father with addiction issues and a bad temper, a mother with depression and a brother who has a range of mental disabilities. Growing up, it was no one's fault but i pretty much faded into the background and although my parents try i think something died in me when i was a kid and there is no getting it back.
I think I'm a coward because I'm just trapped like this, i want to die but I'm not going to kill myself because i don't want to make it harder for my parents. I can't do that to them, and as much as I imagine what it would feel like, drowning or just stepping off of a ledge, I can never manage to do it.
I don't know why I'm writing this, I just don't know what to do. I don't think I have a future, I mean my anxiety is so bad my short term memory loss is through the roof so thinking ahead is pretty much pointless anyway. I'm just trapped, not going anywhere.
