2023.06.10 23:25 Texan-Gooch-Grease Help with my PC

Not sure whats going on with my PC man. Its my very first build and everything was going great for like 4 months. I'm new to all this so forgive me if i don't make any sense here.
Recently i came back from an holiday and found YouTube wasn't working on google chrome which is my default browser. I was getting a green screen and random flashes too. It didn't seem to be a problem on Microsoft edge initially but eventually that too started having issues if i recall.

I did whatever i could find on forums for people having a similar problem. I updated my drivers and restarted my PC in case a previous driver update was corrupted. The only thing that worked was taking my hardware acceleration off. Also my steam wallpaper was crashing a lot too so im pretty sure i removed acceleration for that too.
Anyways its been a number of weeks and i find my pc seems to be crashing a fair bit. it seems to suddenly slow down and not responds when i click on a link. When this happens i minimize the browser, wait a bit and then go back on. Obviously this isn't a remedy but its the only way i can continue using the browser. Steam wallpaper also seems to be crashing. Lastly, its rare but my computer has straight up crashed and forced a restart. I got a blue screen with a sad smiley face with some text which i don't remember.
My friend is pretty tech savvy unlike myself, he tried to help me (seeing as he's the one who convinced me to buy a pc lol) but he's stumped. He seems to think its the fault of windows 11.
Games seem to be working fine btw. I played some Apex legends the other day and nothing seemed to crash everything's working fine game wise.
I downloaded MSI afterburner which showed my GPU temp at 40 degrees. Only thing worthy of note that i can see is that the GPU seems to stay at 600 and randomly spike to 2200 mhz. Im not sure if that normal.
Is there anything to be done? any advice? i want to ideally use hardware acceleration to stop these darn crashes.

I got a 3090 ti asus GPU. If you guys need the full details lemme know.

Hello, guys!
I want to start learning my target languages seriously, but I feel like I have no starting point. I want to study Italian, Korean, and Dutch and improve my English all at the same time. I really need some book recommendations for each of my target languages. I already have some knowledge in Italian, but I would really like to acquire more vocabulary and also improve my grammar knowledge. I was thinking to use "Grammatica Italiana per Tutti" for grammar, but I think I'll also need a book with exercises. Also, I need some book recommendations for Dutch grammar and English grammar. If you can help me with some book recommendations that I can find for free online, I would be more than grateful. Also, if you have any other resource recommendations for learning my target languages, they are more than welcome (maybe a YouTuber that you like, or a podcast, or anything).

It's happened to me twice now, I shouldn't be surprised by the next, but it's kinda creepy and strange LOL.
So, the lead vocalist of my bandom has a side solo project and the music video for his latest release just went live Friday morning EST (US). A few days before that, there was some sort of invite on YouTube for the M/V premiere, and its still featured that scene with him with black eyes--not black eyes from a brawl, but black eyes like the urban legend black-eyed children. While black eyes like those can be creepy enough, the song is ironically upbeat and the background is quite cute with sky-blue walls, so it isn't really scary... at least it shouldn't be.
Here's the strange part though.
I first saw that invite after watching the trailer for The Exorcist III out of curiosity.
Now, just this morning I also thought of checking out the trailer for A Nightmare on Elm Street out of the blue... and after that, yes, I saw that still again.
Like, does it have to appear after I check out a trailer of a classic horror film I haven't seen yet???
Maybe I could write something based on it...

Most techno DJing seems to be about a) track selection and layering, often more than 2 b) perfect phrasing, making sure elements of both tracks don't overlap c) constant EQ work, much more than the faders.
I never looked into using a crossfader, as it seemed to me as something mainly for fast cuts in other styles. I have never seen a techno DJ using a crossfader... until recently, at an Ancient Methods show. Later I found he uses it regularly, like in this Hor set: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spq1W7ZcVmQ The majority of the time, he would move it a bit, between 40%-60%, and do it pretty often, only sometimes cutting completely.
How does it work in this style, as opposed to just EQ work and moving the sliders a bit to avoid too much loudness when blending two tracks? He obviously does all of those, which makes me more puzzled.

TLDR: How should i approach the strategy component in my game, on top of the battle system?
Im doing it all by myself. And Im almost finished with the battle system, and i think that is the hardest part.
It took a lot of effort to figure out the best combination of factors that would allow the best performance to afford thousands of units.
Now since the battle system is almost finished im very unsure what else to do to make the game have some more depth. Instead of being just another rts battle game.
Games like Total War or even Age of Empires 2 provide either a campaign or a strategic map.
Though i think the campaign of AOE 2 is too static and simplistic, its not really a campaign like Total War, its just missions. But that could be much simpler to do...
Considering it should be simple, i need to come up with something that is not overcomplicated and yet gives the game a sense of replayability and strategic depth.
Since im working alone in my project, i cant be too ambitious and i must be realistic and humble when it comes to my expectations...
So the simpler the better.
Sure it would be fine to just finish my project as a battle simulator...
But if i went through so much effort to put this together.
I want to make something that adds another layer of playability.

So for now im considering the following options:
1- Have a risk like map, and have armies created each turn, that can be sent to conquer neighboring territories. Exactly like risk, very basic.
2- Mission based campaign, like AOE2. Seems simpler on the surface. Because its like a storyline, but each mission will need all the detail that comes with it, thats a lot of work, and can only be played once.
3- Go full total waknights of honor with grand strategy. And maybe not live to finish my project

Perhaps i should do a very simple campaign that is pretty much like Risk (board game).
Then have the battles. What do you think?
I gathered a list of games that have this component of Strategic + RTS battles, does it occur to you of any other examples?

These are the games im taking inspiration from, they all have a battle and a strategic map:

1- Knights of Honor (excellent game), 2- Hegemony series (strategic map and battle at the same time, with less emphasis on battle) 3- Medieval total war 1 (risk style map, excellent game) 4- All other total war games 5- Sengoku Jidai (has a very limited risk style map campaign very interesting tactical battle) Others: Conquest of The New World (very simple yet interesting battle system) Lords of The Realm 2 Mount and Blade, Imperial Glory, Rise of Nations (has Risk style campaign)

Any ideas or suggestions what should i do for the strategic part?

So I’ve gotten to the part where you go take pictures of the broken items and I am taking the picture of Minnie’s broken item (arcade game) and its 4pm. It’s not working. I saw in YouTube videos the items should sparkle, but Minnie’s item is not sparkling. Anyone else having this issue? And know how to fix it ?

Total thought experiment, I'm curious people's opinion.
In my neck of the woods, whenever I attend harp conferences or concerts I am certainly in the minority as a young person. I was amused thinking the last time I was at a harp concert I was one patch of brown/blonde hair in a sea of gray (probably the demographic for this specific harp concert however). As far as I understand, there was a folk harp revival in the 70s, and a sizable population of the current harpists/harp interested folks stem from that.
My question, as this population ages how will it influence the greater harp world? I am too aware of music history to feel any sort of doom and gloom, but by extension aware of changes and ebs and flows in music tastes and styles.
Will harp become even more increasingly niche and larger concerts/conferences/sessions more difficult?
I honestly personally have a more optimistic "large count" theory: TikTok and YouTube will lead to a second revival, coupled with hip young harpists like Maeve Gilchrist and Rachel Hair, content creators like Emily Hopkins, or active ingenuitive savvy harpists like friends-of-the-subreddit Esther Severac and Grace Scheele. However many of these harpists notably, Rachel Hair notwithstanding, represent approaches to the harp that may be considered "atraditional." I think concerts and conferences in the future that garner more interest will feature harp and technology/pedals/more contemporary styles than good ol Irish trad. Once again could be totally wrong, all speculative.
Noting viewing this opinion from a US-based European style harp lens, I am not hugely aware of the South/Central American harp scene knowing only that the music absolutely blows my mind.b
Curious opinions on this question!
