2023.06.07 22:20 CorieD91 Learning more melee sups
Hey guys! I am an enchanter main (Janna, Sona, and Sera) but I really want to learn melee supports. I'm good with amumu (aram) and absolutely love him. I'm really bad at figuring out when to engage though. I play with friends when I'm learning new roles or Champs but I can't fully rely on them because they have their own role to focus on. Any tips? Amumu and pyke are who I love for melee but u also love Braum and Taric. Any pointers are greatly appreciated! I do know hoe to build their items just basic lane tips and engage tips are highly appreciated since enchanter and melee are two totally different worlds. Thank you!

2023.06.06 17:01 DiorrTFT INVOKE DEEZ - A DARK SORAKA TECH by DIORR
| || | submitted by DiorrTFT to CompetitiveTFT [link] [comments]
Welcome to DIORR’s guide to invoke deez (reroll targon invoker), the most egregious attrition comp to have come out of TFT in a while.
First, about myself: I am a fairly acceptable TFT player, having hit ~500lp in both set 8 and 8.5 (I think I could’ve pushed higher in 8.5 but I decayed, might be a cope though). You can find my lolchess here: https://lolchess.gg/profile/na/diorr https://preview.redd.it/cyaba7f13g4b1.png?width=690&format=png&auto=webp&s=e369420feb4c4eae9214df8ff19cbd81f9a80cb6
Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about why this comp is so gross and oppressive. Your core board will be: Ashe
. This comp takes advantage of the fact that targon provides healing and shielding bonuses which benefit most of your core units: Soraka, Galio, Taric, Shen, and Sejuani. Your board will become an unkillable overtime cringe machine that will have u streak all of stage 3/4 as well as into 5 until your opponents hit K’Sante. Freljord is a very strong in and of itself and is especially good with this comp, which we will talk about later.
This comp is fairly flexible for items, the only items you really want to avoid are bows and swords. Component Priority:
Tear >> Rod > Chain/Belt Item Priorities: Completed Item Tier List Soraka
: Shojin, Archangels (THESE ARE YOUR HIGHEST PRIORITY)
> Deathcap >>
/JG (JG only if at least 1 Archangels) Galio/Taric
: Tank items (redemption, vow, and warmogs are very good here), AP items Lissandra
Ionic (lower priority)
The beauty of this comp is that your primary/secondary tanks are AP scaling/item choice, allowing you to greed tears for Soraka without getting punished for extra tears/rods, since you can use infinite tears with vow/redemption as well as put AP items on Galio and Taric. If you choose to go the AP itemization route on Galio/Taric (better on Galio due to healing) you need to have at least one belt item as well (ideally warmogs) to provide some base HP so your frontline doesn’t get assblasted before you have the chance to cast.
By nature of being an attrition comp, archangels is naturally the best choice for Soraka, especially as you both do damage and heal (making items such as JG, GS, gunblade less ideal, however still playable). Remember how we talked about Freljord being very good above? Archangels is the reason why; Freljord provides a lot of stall for Archangels to kick in. People talk about how Soraka is a fake unit etc, etc, but don’t realize that the scaling on Soraka is INSANE. She probably utilizes AA better than any other unit in the game and is secretly overtuned. Despite getting mana from invoker, shojin is still quite good on Soraka due to her high mana cap.
Shiv is good on Soraka as well if you need to kill swords and bows, as the extra AS is nice with shojin and the magic shred not being bad. I HAVE FORGOTTEN THAT FRELJORD SHREDS THANK U MITCHTFT
Moving onto your legend, because you’re rolling for Soraka and Galio, as well as Taric (if healthy enough or naturaled enough), Lee Sin is the clear choice here. This is the only legend you should be taking.
In terms of region, the best by far is Ionia God-Willow’s Grove. It lets you cap your board higher by flexing more Freljord, Targon, 6 Invoker, etc, as well as making transitions in between trait intervals smoother. Targon Marus Omegnum is good for the same reason, but is not as strong mid game. Ionia Placidium Library is also very good, as the boost from 3 to 4 Freljord as well from 3 to 4 Targon (if space to fit Aphelios or have +1) provides A LOT of stall. Invoker spat is good for obvious reasons, all your units utilize mana very well and spat allows you to drop Cass/Karma.
Similarly, for augments, +1 for Freljord/InvokeTargon/Return on Investment are very good. Dedication is similarly good for hitting 6 invoker. Frequent flier is quite good, letting you roll for the Taric at a big discount as well as being good in a general sense for reroll comps. Infusion obviously is good. LOVING INVOCATION IS THE BEST AUGMENT IN THE GAME FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. IF YOU HIT THIS ITS GAME OVER. IF U SEE IT DONT EVEN LOOK AT THE OTHER CHOICES TAKE IT AND BUILD SORAKA INFINITE SHOJINS
(by infinite I mean probably 2, 3 might have u spillover and lose EV). IF U NEED TO ASK WHY IDK WHAT TO TELL U
. Winds of War looks LIT but I haven’t had the opportunity to try it yet. The typical reroll augments are clearly playable, no need to discuss that here.
Gameplay Early Game:
Early game is the weakest part of this comp, there aren’t many great 1* AP item holders. Viego/Cass/Kayle are likely the best item holders here, and you should be making use of your rerolls to build a stable frontline. If you can slam a shojin obviously you should probably be itemizing Viego or Cass instead of Kayle. THIS IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT AS YOU CAN NO LONGER FULL OPEN STAGE 2 DUE TO LEVELLING THRESHOLD CHANGES. BUILD AN ACCEPTABLE FRONTLINE. IF YOU NEED TO LOSE ECON TO MAKE A MAOKAI 2 OR A POPPY 2 THEN DO SO.
Sunfire is a good slam here to preserve hp and can be put on Taric later. If by any chance your board is insane you can go for win streak here but more than likely this will not be possible because you're going to be playing reroll augment. Most times you will be trying to preserve hp while loss streaking into neutrals. Below is an example of a good early game board: Example early game board Early/Mid Game:
Post-krugs is the most precarious spot. Flex players will have stronger boards, finding 2* 2 costs, as well as have more items where you will likely still have a your items on Viego/Poppy/Maokai/other 1 costs. You will likely be sacking a few stages more so you can roll on 6. At 3-3 level to 6 and send it down to 20 or so for the following core units: Galio/Soraka/Taric
. If you hit an Ashe 2, feel free to play it, but you don't need to 3* Ashe since Ashe 3 is fake. Flex the rest of your slots on whatever strong frontline you're able to hit. Feel free to continue playing Poppy and Maokai if you 2* them. You can also continue to play Demacia for a while if you don't hit Soraka since the free item is very good on both Galio/Kayle. This lowroll line is a bit riskieweaker but is playable especially if you have a sunfire slammed. THE MOST IMPORTANT UNIT TO HIT HERE IS GALIO. ITEMIZED GALIO CRANKS. IF YOU HIT GALIO 2 AND SORAKA 2 YOU ARE BING CHILLING UNTIL NEUTRALS
. Below is an example of a good mid/early board: Example early/mid game board Mid Game:
Depending on how healthy you are, you can continue to play this board and econ up until neutrals or you can send it a little again. The ideal mid game board will include GALIO/SORAKA/TARIC/LISSANDRA/KARMA.
From this spot until neutrals you should be slowrolling for Galio and Soraka. If played properly with acceptable items, you should winstreak until neutrals with itemized Galio and Soraka. Below is an example of a mid game board: Example mid game board Mid/Late Game:
By 4-1, you should ideally have 5-6 Sorakas and Galios, as well as paired or 2* Taric/Lissandra. You can continue to slowroll at this point or dig a little to stabilize your board depending on how healthy you are. At 4-3/4-4, ideally you should 3* Galio and Soraka, with at least 2 completed items on each, as well as Lissandra 2 and Taric 2. If not, you should send it for those 2 units. You should then go 7 and roll for the following board: Mid/Late game board Late Game:
Into Stage 5 you should have both Galio and Soraka 3*, as well as ideally Shen 2 and Sejuani 2. From here, you can decide to keep rerolling for Taric 3 and Lissandra 3 if you have 6+ units, or you can go 8 for a variety of boards. Some (only level 8 boards, you can use your creativity to figure out level 9 boards, don't want to make this guide too long) of the boards possible are shown below (There are an infinite number of playable variants, due to +1s): Can sub Ryze with Karma/Cass
Way better with Targon +1 for 4 Targon
Sion variant for more CC
Donger variant for further CC Additional Notes:
K'Sante is the biggest counter to this comp, PLACE GALIO/TARIC ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BOARD AND SORAKA AWAY FROM THE KICK.
Sorry for the long post and have fun playing this degen comp. If played correctly, you should easily tempo stages 3-5 and cruise to an easy top 4. Enjoy it while invokers are still untouched :-)
2023.06.05 02:16 idontlikeredditbutok Set 9 PBE Comps Guide (by WizardTFT)
| || | submitted by idontlikeredditbutok to CompetitiveTFT [link] [comments]
Hi eveyrone, my name is Wizard. I've been a high elo tft player since set 6.5, generally hovering around the 700-1k lp range. I've participated in the Set 7 Jade Cup and the recent Mecha cup, and although I'm not the best player in NA by any stretch of the imagination, i've been playing a good amount of pbe and have what I think is a good read on the meta, so I decided to take a crack on a comps guide/list to show players the basics if they are getting lost trying to figure out the new set. This will cover most of the relatively standard/basic comps that you will encounter game to game, so if i miss a comp here its because it's not consistently played, or in some cases i just simply don't have enough info to give a good read on how to play it. Without further adieu, let's start:
Core is this board plus guinsoos on Aphelios. Last two units are open slots, can be whatever you need/hit. 4 Deadeye is fine but not required, you can even just run 3 deadeye and duo urgot with one other good unit like sion or ahri or something. 4 Freljord goes REALLY hard here. Tank items on Sej/Shen, whichever you can hit first generally, although i think sejuani use them a bit better if you have to pick because her ability scales with being alive the most. You want actual tank items in this comp, items like spark or sunfire don't really do anything, you can just put morello on lissandra for anti heal.
Azir is in my opinion the most flexible and dizzying carry to play around this set, and frankly can be a good end game even with none of his traits activated! If i were to list all of the potential azir variants i'd be writing a picture book, but if you want to look for the most "mid-roll, nothing special, no plus 1, no items, final destination only" azir core, the closest i can think of is this. Your shurima plus 1 can be way too many units depending on what you hit/ what is on your board currently, though i think unless you hit ksante/nasus 2 with items you never want to try for 5 shurima (and even then i think it's a bait in most
games). Guinsoos is almost required on azir, although unlike aphelios who i think just straight up requires the item, azir can get away with not having it as much, especially if you have zekes and kewkone, which is ABSURDLY good in this comp because of how well azir uses both stats. Tank items go on jarvan generally, although really your frontline is what you hit.
7 SHURIMA AZIR
Not really playable without plus 1, very strong with. Can shurima spat aatrox or jarvan. You want to prio0 good items for Nasus more than normal in this version because he is actually your main secondary carry. Blue buff is really op on ksante, you want to focus on positioning him to kick the target you want before every round. Unsure how good 9 Shurima is, probably worth if you can hit.
SHADOW ISLES SLAYERS GWEN
Gwen is also actually pretty flexible like azir, and can even be used as a secondary carry with no traits (although she very much appreciates shadow isles being active). Again, the amount of variants here would make a picture book but this is i think the most "standard" level 8 you want to go for. Slayer plus 1 is VERY good and realistically, you want to play as many slayers as you can without griefing your frontline, as the jump from 3 to 4 is very good (in this variant im playing 3 for now but honestly you could easily argue to drop any number of units for 4 slayer, or another carry if you have items for them, as long as your frontltine is still decent). Gwen items are pretty flexible, though i think titans is her best stand-alone item. Generally i go for titans healing plus 1, but you can go for a lot of mixture of ap bruiser itemization, including qss, spark, or even warmogs if you have another source of damage (Shadow Isles hp shield scales off of max hp!). Spark Guardbreaker gunblade is another really good build i for a decent amount. Can cap with full 5 cost board quite easily, and in fact the main strategy i think you should employ is to abuse the mid game spike of vertical slayer to go 9 and play legendaries. This board above is just a good level 8 end if you can't get there.
Caps pretty low unless you get void plus 1, so ideally without 8 void you use this to go 9 and play legendaries rather than end this. 8 void is 100% a correct end unless you can hit basically every 2 star 5 cost in the game (the baron hurts man). Kaisa items can be almost anything frankly, this is just my personal faviorite build. Guinsoos is pretty mediocre on her, don't get baited into thinking you need it. I personally like playing for the old school "i win the fight off of second cast" kaisa build. THIS BOARD IS SO UNBELIEVABLY BROKEN WITH ALL NATURAL, HONESTLY MIGHT BE A HARDFORCE SEND IT AT 7 TO HIT ANGLE.
(NOTE: This is made with the assumption that Kayle 2 will not be a 4.5 cost going into live)
Lux is also actually surprisingly flexible, and i've even sometimes just used her as a secondary carry with no traits when i've had random ap items and i can randomly fit in Demacia, she does a surprising amount of damage just flying solo. This is on average the core though, can play a bunch of different things in the other slots. Can also drop 4 demacia for better units if you can, although i think the radiant item on lux and jarven is generally very worth it. Lux items honestly don't matter (though i really like the utility of gunblade healing your frontline), just throw good items on her and it's probably fine, i actually would prioritize good tank items for jarven so the dude can just chain cast and end the enemy backlines whole career. Kewkone and zekes is also decent in this comp though it can be awkward with positioning, and lux does not use the zekes as well (although sona does, so there are some instances where you can actually just primary carry azir and use lux as a kewkone bot with a radiant item and just use demacia as a frontline for him). 9 DEMACIA IS VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY GOOD, UNLESS RIOT SUPER BUTCHERS THIS IM VERY SURE ITS A THING YOU ALWAYS GO FOR IF YOU CAN. Demacia spat is super valuable regardless just because you get to have a radiant item and big stats on a strong primary carry you have items for.
4-6 CHALLENGER YASUO/KAISA
Can play 6 challenger for tempo, though unless you have plus 1 i wouldnt stick with it very long past level 7 unless you can go fast 9. With plus 1 6 challenger is VERY good unless you cap with legendaries, especially if you are going yasuo primary. Can play 6 ionia with plus 1, but ONLY with plus 1 including ahri, preferably ionia spat kaisa (even then its not that great and you should ditch it pretty fast at 9, maybe will change when live hits). Yasuo REALLY needs at least one of both DB/IE and QSS/EON to be a viable primary carry. Last item can be a ton of things, damage, healing, defensive etc. Tank items on shen. Don't be afraid to play a random soraka on this board, targon kind of goes hard, i've even had games where i just end 3 targon and it's correct, your yasuo can go infinite. Can drop irelia and ww for better units when you can (although yasuo likes 4 challenger a lot in my opinion, so be careful when you do so if you are carrying him).
For when you hit early piltover. Tank items on sejuani, zekes goes hard here. Zeri REALLY wants guinsoos and ie, but her last item can be a lot of things. Don't NEED to go 4 gunner but it is very good if you can fit it, especially if the zaun mod is good. If its bad dont be afraid to go 3/4 gunner and play a good fronltine units, or if you hit sion, you can actually just play sion/sej/ekko fronltine, ekko actually uses the non backline chem mods quite well. 6 Piltover is a giga first. DO NOT SELL THE T-HEX UNLESS YOU ARE GOING FOR THE TUBER LEVELS OF RICH, THAT DINOSAUR IS KINDA GOOD AND THE WHOLE GOAL OF THIS BOARD IS TO MAKE YOUR DINO GIGA HUGE. The dark tech is going for triple self repair upgrades on heimer, that turret is infinite frontline.
When you dont hit early piltover. Can drop jinx/ekko for senna and a better unit later if the chem mods aren't good enough, but don't be afraid to keep them with good chem mods until level 9. Board is insanely stable on 8 as it's own, going for urgot 3 instead of going 9 can be pretty worth with a good chem mod for him, as generally he won't be very contested. I think doing that on average is better than leveling for ryze 2 unless you also can easily drop jinx/ekko. Duo carry urgot is a goal late game game, tanks on sej, or sion 2/yolo ekko 3 with good chem mod.
There's honestly too many variants of this comp to talk about all of them extensively, but the two most critical aspects of this comp are:
1.Poppy 4 is the most important unit in the comp
- Getting heimer is your primary win con.
Hitting maokai 3 can be a very consistent way to get poppy 4 for achieving your goals of 3 3 stars. I've seen some players swear by kled 3 instead of poppy 3, but i feel like that is a high roll scenario, though i'm not that much of a yordles expert so someone here maybe can correct me if I'm wrong.
In my opinion a very good comp to open fort and hard force when you have a bad opener. Doesnt need any op augments, doesnt need any specific item combos, doesnt really need any 3 stars other than viego (although maokai can be nice if you hit). Especially if the exp changes stay on live, going w/l is super punishing early game, so if you feel like your opener isnt going to generate a streak, its often better to look for boards like this to play rather than hope your econ won't get griefed for little gain. Can cap with gwen 2 items, and/or can roll at 7 for 3 star rogues if possible. 6 Shadow Isles is VERY STRONG, you want to play that as much as possible.
Another forceable reroll comp i think is good to play from a bad opener. Can cap with aphelios 2/yasuo 2/ or ahri 2 items although i think aphelios is the best secondary carry if you can get a guinsoos on him. Guinsoos is actually also good on jhin, though i dont think its a requirement by any means. Ie is arguably better than DB in Jhin, not sure if it's solved yet. I've seen some players go Guinsoo BT IE jhin and pop off, I'm pretty sure his items are surprisingly flexible.
Can go Soraka/Galio 3 Variant or Karma3/Shen 2 Variant, not sure which one is stronger although i think the Karma/Shen version is more consistent. If going galio 3 version can replace sejuani for taric if you dont have shiv or spark. If going Soraka variant im like 99.9% sure you need archangels or it sucks.
COMPS THAT I KNOW ARE AT LEAST DECENT BUT DONT HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE WITH/INFORMATION TO MAKE A GUIDE ON THEM
Samira Reroll is definately viable, i've seen it work quite a few times, i think you really need blue buff/ie though.
Non viego rogue reroll is super first or eighth from what i've seen, you either hit your 3 stars, get great items, great augments and hit a giga first, or you don't and you are dead at stage 4. I don't think i've ever seen this comp just mid roll into a 4th, but i could be wrong, maybe someone figures out a way to make it consistent. Jugg emblem on kat is good, although i think she also really wants raw ap/burst as well. Players with zed 3 items seem to do well, think that might be the most consistent variant than kat but don't quote me on that.
There is a kayle/yordles comp that is good but I don't know what Riot is going to do to kayle pre live so I'd hold me thoughts for then before commenting on it.
Swain is REALLY op with his augment "Demonflare", but I'm not sure he's playable without it.
I've seen 6 Juggernaut nasus primary carry work well before, pretty sure it's a tech, but not remotely enough info to comment on obviously.
POTENTIAL DARK TECHS
I've seen some taliyah reroll comps just randomly be utterly broken. I'm pretty sure this unit is hidden op. Similar with Sona 3 carry boards, though it's a bit less on the "dark" end.
Darius 3 carry is actually not that bad, but you do have to high roll ungodly hard for it to be good. If/when riot buffs Noxus it might be a thing to look out for.
Garen carry i think is actually good, it's just hard to play for when there are like 2-3 kayle 2 vertical demacia forcers every game, plus maybe a regular lux player.
That's about all i have! Obviously this doesnt cover everything, or even every comp hopefully it's a useful starter guide to entering pbe for those who are out of the loop. Lets me know what you think of this, this is my first attempt at making something similar, so feedback would be very appreciated.

2023.06.04 14:35 Keske_cait Let's Cook Jungle Rell
I've been playing Jungle Rell after the hotfix in normal games and I'm curious to hear what other players think of her? My experience so far:
Runes: Phase Rush + Nimbus Cloak + Transcendence + Waterwalking + Hexflash + Cosmic Insight
This feels like the best setup so far. Phase Rush helps you avoid early invades and river 1v1s and helps you stick onto targets. The reduced slow is also nice if you can proc it as you crash down (for the self slow). Transcendence over Celerity since you're already fast but Ability Haste is a key stat to invest in.
Hexflash allows for good synergy with your e. You show up behind your opponents and accelerate your mate towards you/them.
Glacial and Aftershock also work of course, but feel worse to me. Niche, but I've run Lethal Tempo once and bought Bork/Nashors, but it didn' feel like the LT was necessary.
Abilities: Start W but max E W Q. E has aoe damage and gives you speed, so this is the best max order imo.
Items: I go Bami into Jaksho and then Abyssal + Sunfire most of the time. Radiant Virtue and Evenshroud are good too, I haven't tried Shurelyas yet because I don't think the extra speed is needed.
Early buy is boots + bamis, or boots + Dark Seal on an early reset, or Ionian boots (+ Dark Seal) if I can't afford Bamis. Ideal back for me is boots + bamis, since I prefer the tanky stats of Bami over the AH from T2 Boots.
Demonic Embrace I've seen many people build, but imo it's not good early. I'd rather build a Nashors Tooth for the AP and Attack Speed if I were to build damage, since you'll want to attack a lot in unmounted form and the item gives AH, whereas DE gives a passive burn that you need to proc with 6-11secs cooldown abilities.
Pathing: It's S13, you can solo start on red, Raptors, Wolves, or Blue. Usually I start on Red though, and the best results were on a red quadrant into top/bot or mid gank then reset or look to gank mid.
Notes: You can w crash down over walls to raptors, wolves, dragon etc. E animation is cancelled when you use it with another ability. Blue Pet and you can race from camp to camp in mid game.
Overall she's fun to play. Probably worse than the meta tank junglers, but better than Nautilus and maybe Taric.

Hey guys,First things first, let me tell a little bit of the Baiano story:He was a pro player that played in CBLOL and even played in the NACS for Big God Jackals, but the team couldnt qualify for the LCS.After he retired, he became a full time streamer making watchparties (without the actual image, in the same format LS watch the LCK today), and started to build a really large community.
In 2020, the pandemic started and all the tournments got paused, Baiano created the CBOLAO (its kinda a joke name with CBLOL, cebola in brazil means onion, cebolao means big/large onion)It was a 8 team tournment that consisted 7 mixed cblol + retired players and a single team of soloqueue OTPs. And since then, we got one edition each year, and every past cbolao was played remote/online. But this one only the open qualifier was online, and the "playoff" phase is being played on stage. The event is casted by former CBLOL casters and players, they have also ex cblol players doing interviews and attending the event.

2023.06.03 10:16 GGmeo Taric DTCL mùa 9: Lên đồ, đội hình Taric mạnh nhất
2023.06.02 21:03 lankperi The biggest LOL community tournament (CBOLÃO) is about to start !
Introducing CBOLÃO: The Biggest League of Legends Community Event.
CBOLÃO is a community tournament in Brazil that takes its name from the official CBLOL tournament as a parody. It was created by the Brazilian streamer Baiano, who holds the highest peak viewership among co-streams of MSI. This event is everything that the ALL Stars aspires to be.
In CBOLÃO, teams are formed by a mix of active pro players, retired pros, academy players, one-trick soloQ players, and even Korean imports coming together to create their own teams. Unlike the ALL Stars tournament, where some players turned down the invitation in the past, every pro player in CBOLÃO wants to be a team captain, giving them the freedom to build their teams however they like.
One of the most exciting aspects for Brazilian fans is the intense rivalry between one-trick players X pro players. Imagine a meta comp going up against a team consisting of Darius, Skarner, Vlad, Nillah, and Taric. You won't see the typical Zeri Yuumi or Aphelios Lulu combos coming from the side of the One-Trick playres, which btw in brazil we call "Mono Champions".
CBOLÃO originally started as a college tournament before the global COVID-19 pandemic. However, it grew significantly and adopted its current format when the CBLOL studios faced a flood, resulting in a delayed tournament. During the pandemic, CBOLÃO took a philanthropic approach, entertaining the League community and raising funds for medical equipment. Since then, every edition of CBOLÃO has also aimed to raise funds for a specific cause.
Since it's made By the community to the Community, everyone can watch and co-stream the matches.

2023.05.31 15:43 PebbleJade Best support answers to MF?
MF is a huge problem for me under the new items, and I plan on perma banning her except if my ADC declares her. Unfortunately, my ADC might declare her then the enemy team picks her so I still have to be able to deal with her. I'd want to only use champs I am M7 on or higher, so that's:
Zyra, Leona, Soraka, Morgana, Nautilus, Blitzcrank, Galio, VelKoz, Malphite, Senna, Yuumi, Thresh, Pantheon, Lux, Brand, Seraphine, Karma, Taric. At a push if there's a good reason to I could expand to include my M6/M5 picks, so Sona, Veigar, Lulu, Janna, Amumu, Nami, Ashe, Pyke.
Ideally I'd like 2-3 options for how to deal with MF, since the enemy team might pick one of them and ban another. Blind picks are preferable, since I'm planning on spamming whichever champ answers MF best in order to be better prepared to deal with her.
Who should I play, and if I need to use a particular build, how should I play them?

2023.05.29 15:59 snappy_snake Pros and cons of playing anything that is considered off-meta
If you are new to League, you might have heard the term "off-meta" here and there.
I wanna provide you a mini-guide, of biggest pros (positive aspects) and cons (negative aspects) of playing something that is considered off-meta.
- - -
Let's start with defining what is off-meta
As far as I know, anything that is "not usual", is basically off-meta. So despite the general public thinking that off-meta means something that is bad (has a low win rate), that is not the case. Off-meta just means that the champion, item, summoner spell or general strategy is rarely used.
- - -
How does Riot define meta and off-meta?
To my understanding, there is no official statement from Riot, where they would exactly define every aspect of the game that is meta. However, they do tend to do things that steer the meta, like nerf some champions off-roles. So let's say Shaco support gets out of control (have exceptionally high win rate), Riot might try to keep Shaco in his intended jungle role, by nerfing aspects of the champion that make him strong in the off-meta role. [This is a real life example.]
Another way Riot shows loosely what champion is meta in which role, is the champion selection screen. So whenever you go to any match, whether it's ranked, normal or co-op, you enter the champion selection screen, where you can ban champions and select champions. In this screen, there are 5 different role selections; Top / Jungle / Mid / ADC / Support. When you click on one of these, the screen will show you only champions that had at least 1.00% pick rate in the last patch. So in the current patch 13.10, you will see anything that had at least 1% pick rate in the patch 13.9.
- - -
How does the League community define meta and off-meta?
This is almost impossible to say, and also varies severely by server (region) and rank (iron-challenger). For example, if I remember correctly, Rumble jungle was at one point very popular pick in Japan's server. However, if you picked Rumble jungle in lets say EU-W server, people might point out to you in chat, that you are "trolling".
- - -
What is good off-meta and what is bad-offmeta (AKA "trolling")?
Technically, almost anything can be good off-meta, if the player knows exactly what they are doing, and have proven to themselves that the strategy works. Bad off-meta just means that the player is unable to execute the strategy properly, meaning that they have very poor win rate using that off-meta option.
If someone is playing Yuumi top, there is 99.9% probability that they are trolling. However, despite this, who am I to say that it's impossible to execute Yuumi top, with some strange itemization, or roaming, or something I can't even think about. So if you ever encounter a player who insta-locks in Yuumi top in ranked match, you might ask yourself two questions:
- Am I willing to risk my ranked match, for the sake of this player, who wants to play Yuumi top? Or should I just dodge this?
- Should I stay open-minded and let the player explain himself/herself in the chat what exactly is their goal.
Now if someone is playing Singed mid, there is 99.9% probability that they know what they are doing. And in this situation, you shouldn't worry too much. [But at the end of the day, it comes up to you what decision you make. If you feel uncomfortable, who am I to tell you, that you shouldn't dodge a ranked match when your teammate insta-locks Singed mid. Personally, I wouldn't even ask that player what they are doing, I would just assume that it's a low pick rate champion in mid lane, and that's it.]
- - -
What are the biggest pros of playing off-meta?
The absolute #1 thing about playing off-meta in ranked, is that the enemy player most likely will not know how to react to your strategy, and it is a HUGE advantage. Especially if you are playing a lane role. (Lane roles are; Top, Mid and ADC/Sup.)
Another slight advantage, when talking about off-roles, is that it can be hard for enemy player to counter pick your champion. So let's say you are the 1st pick in ranked match, and you lock in Heimerdinger. Now some enemy players will think, "Oh, it's probably Heimerdinger support, but I'm not 100% sure, I wonder what should I pick now." Even though, you picked Heimerdinger for top lane.
So they are in tricky situation. They might try to counter-pick you, thinking you are support, but they also might make a mistake, picking some champion that they think is good against Heimerdinger support, but then, end up plaing against Taric support, ruining their entire "counter-picking mindset".
- - -
What are the biggest cons of playing off-meta?
Personally speaking, I think the only negative aspect of playing off-meta, is teammate attitude.
Most people simply don't feel comfortable with players who play something that is unusual. Now I'm not a psychologist, so I don't know what exactly is going on in players heads when they see someone insta-lock Yuumi top, but my strong assumption is that they simply feel like there is too much risk involved, and thus may accuse you of "trolling". And many players will dodge the match entirely.
- - -
Is off-meta a spectrum?
Yes, definitely yes.
- If you pick Veigar for bot role (also known as APC role), that is just slightly off-metaish.
- If you play Tryndamere with Teleport & Ghost, that is mediocre off-meta.
- If you build Mobility Boots as top-laner, that is quite severe off-meta.
- If you play the River Shen strategy, that is considered probably by most players, to be the most extreme case of off-meta.
[Despite actually being insanely good strategy if executed correctly.]
- - -
EDIT: Apparently everyone in the comment sections consideres River Shen to be trolling, rather than serious strategy, so I guess don't play that in ranked. Sorry for any inconvenience.
EDIT #2: I forgot to mention, that the term off-meta is sometimes replaced with the term "sleeper", or "sleeper pick". Just for you new players out there, to clear out, that sleeper pick basically is same thing as off-meta. [More specifically: Something that isn't used very often, but is rather strong.]
- - -
I hope you enjoyed my off-meta mini-guide, and hopefully this was insightful.

2023.05.24 17:23 WizardNasus My journey to masters with AP Nasus #ProveTheHatersWrong
I've been playing league since season 3. I fell in love with it, back then you could carry on any champ and there were so many options on what you could build on champs. I've mained Taric top b4 the rework, Gangplank before the rework, Auto attack Sion before the rework, Aatrox b4 the rework, Nunu b4 the rework, Yorick b4 the rework, and Mordekaiser b4 the rework. As you can see riot doesnt like me lol. AP Nasus is the only thing I have fun playing now. Ive gotten this pick to diamond 2 b4 but now my goal is getting masters with it. Playing this, you get so much sht talkers its insane, but anything is better then being a meta slave.
Ask any question if you're interested in the strategy.
Check out my YouTube channel and follow the climb. Hope this inspires many to play different picks and step outside of the META! Wizard Nasus Youtube Channel

2023.05.22 16:21 Revolving_Pepsi Support tips plz TT
For context I'm a salty top main looking to play support more, and I'd like some help on stuff that's not like really obvious. This'll be kind of a long post so please bear with me :D. Answers would be greatly appreciated, and any helpful and relevant links would also be appreciated.
- Support ClassesI'm pretty sure that there are three types of supports, Engage, Poke, and Enchanters, but I don't know what class beats which. I'm pretty sure Enchanters beat Poke, Poke beats Engage, and Engage beats Enchanters, but I'm not 100% sure about this, and would like someone to fact-check this for me please :D
- **Is learning new classes of supports worth it?**I main engage supports, but I'd like to know if it's worth learning supports in some of the other "classes" of support like poke/enchanters. I know that engage supports have a really difficult time playing into some lanes, so I've tried learning champs like Lulu and Brand but find them really confusing and haven't really had success on them.
- Itemization on SupportsWhen the fuck do I build what? I know supports aren't supposed to have that high of a budget, but the items feel so unimpactful. I don't understand why some champions go Locket > Battlesong, or if you build something like radient virtue or even a normal tank item like Jak'Sho or Heartsteel. After the mythics, it's also really confusing too. I don't know if I should build regular tank items, or the cheap adc amp items (Convergence / Vow). Items for support just got changed recently too, which is breaking my poor peasant brain.
- What are the differences between the different supports? Can someone explain this to me or link a resource that explains the difference? When would I pick Nautilus over Leona, or Thresh over Blitz? when would I pick Rakan versus Pyke, or Taric over Maokai? Also, what is the point of learning different enchanters? I feel like they all do pretty much the same damn thing
- Off meta supportsIs it ever worth it to go a slightly less meta support like Fiddlesticks, Tahm Kench, or Shen? I feel like they can be useful in their own situations, but I don't know if it's trolling or not and don't want to be flamed for it
- When is the most optimal time to roam?Do you roam after you push in bot as you would in mid, or can you roam whenever you feel like your ADC can stay safe bot in a 2v1?
- How do I make a roam "worth it?"Sometimes I fumble a roam, and miss my hook, which is a waste of my time. In this situation is it better to salvage the roam by staying for longer and trying to go for a round two, or is it better to back/get to lane as fast as possible?
- Is just getting the enemy summs worth it, or should I always try to go for the kill?If the enemy mid flashes under tower, but are low, should I coordinate with my mid to take a tower dive or do I just leave mid with the summ advantage?
- Is it ok to fall behind in exp? I'd like to impact the map since I know good supports are supposed to roam, but the trade-off of roaming is that you obviously don't get to be in lane for exp.
- How exactly do I ward efficiently? I know that the river brush and the tri brush on blue side have to perma warded for vision on ganks, and vision on dragon is good, but are there any other places that have a high priority to ward? (such as enemy jg or top lane after roaming)
- PinksAre these things worth it?I feel like I only get these to bait people to clear them so I can hook them easier, or one early, to deny vision and to have an extra ward (before I have my sup item upgraded the first time). These things are a 75 gold sink though so I'm not really sure if it's worth it. Plus, once I get oracles I feel like don't really need to buy them for vision denial
- Summoner SpellsWhen the fuck do I go what summoner spell? I perma take Flash, but then the second one is iffy. I take ignite most games but don't know when exhaust would be better, or even some niche options like heal, cleanse, ghost, or tp in some cases.
- Sup item
- What's the optimal time to get this thing upgraded quickly? I feel like I'm taking way too long to finish this 100%. I usually get the first upgrade by 7 minutes, then finish the item completely at around 15-17 minutes. I thought this was an ok speed, but then I see some supports finish their entire item at absurd speeds ilke 8 - 10 minutes. (I never hit casters, and always make sure to have a charge for canon)
- Which support item do I go? When would I go shoulderguards over relic shield, or sickle / frostfang over shoulderguard / relic shield? This has confused me for a while and I want someone to clarify please :D
- Should I / when should I sell this thing? Sometimes my games go to like 50 minutes, and I'm full build with extra gold, but don't know if I should sell the item, since the vision it gives is so damn useful
- Trinket When do I go red over blue, and is it ever ok to go yellow? I take red most games, but I know some people like the blue (the yellow one feels like trolling)
- Watchful / Vigilant Wardstone Someone, please tell me why this item exists. I've literally only seen it build on Bard and this one Lee Sin support
- Enemy trackingHow do I keep track of the enemy mid if my mid doesn't ping? I legitimately don't know if the enemy mid has backed or has their dirty li'l toes in the bot bush waiting to gank. (This is less of a support question and more of a question in general)Jungle tracking is a lot easier since it's more obvious when the jungler is going to gank
That's the end of my questions! I know it's a lot but any help would be greatly appreciated ^^
Thank you for any resources/answers I get in advance, and sorry if the question is kind of uneducated I'm fairly new to bot

2023.05.20 14:54 DR-Fluffy I'm I wrong for thinking Heartsteel is a bad first item?
So many times in my game I see some one building this item first only to damn near run it down. Just today I had a Taric on the enemy team go 14 deaths by game end with Heartsteel being his first and only completed item.
Heartsteel has a good effect, but it doesn't give any survivability outside of HP. So would I be wrong on this?

2023.05.18 23:35 blobbleu Theory crafting AD taric top
| || | submitted by blobbleu to taricmains [link] [comments]
Hello there taricmains
I'm a little player enjoying troll builds, such as lethality cait/ jinx, ap vayne, ap/ ad alistar, etc...
Right now, I'm trying to come up with something solid for taric top building ad, but really struggle. So here is my little build. I'd love you to review it and tell me what should be improved! First, for the runes:
I got in mind to different possible pages : https://preview.redd.it/2oo0ds2jpn0b1.png?width=507&format=png&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=5218127de32014c295a8f79783afc0b488ac6d2b
I'd pick those runes against brawler top (irelia, garen,etc...) but I still lose (probably a skill issue, but maybe just my runes suck)
Next, runes for range/poke: https://preview.redd.it/d2f12m32qn0b1.png?width=494&format=png&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=d99265e548144759b9665441b98d9ca066cba41c
PTA to deal as much damage during the small stun window, Coup de grace for finishing them of, and the secondary runes to heal a bit Secondly summs:
Flash TP, but maybe ghost IDK Now, onto the items
Longsword for early trade, 3 potions vs brawlers, refillabe vs poke
Boots: I don't know, tank or AS? Really need help on this one First back: https://preview.redd.it/mehq4yxzqn0b1.png?width=366&format=png&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=1684e2b8db2bed856d1364915b3f32f2079ff8d0
A combination of those items, I don't know which tbh Main build: https://preview.redd.it/ksg0kxd4rn0b1.png?width=373&format=png&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=9c55fa1a4b26856fff5b67a81a8ee8f912ef2f8f
Rush ER to quickly proc it from spamming Q, navori to hit harder, but IE and guinso look good to, still unsure Closing items: https://preview.redd.it/2pl0cuiern0b1.png?width=372&format=png&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=37e74e5b10897ac81a42372f594f15f8837bf400
More wave clear, better 1v1( not sure what to build else) Gameplan:
During laning, and this until I have either a good advantage with items or 6, I play as safe as possbile trying to trade when I land my E.
When I have my ER, I look to 1v1 around it and my ult
In the late game, I can either group to have value with my ult, or splitpush knowing it'll be hard to 1v1 me.
Even though I try my best, I get bested during lane way too easily.
Any feedback on my weird build would be wonderful, considering I'm really having fun with this pick
1st edit: just thought about building crit, maybe galedorce gap close is the way?

2023.05.17 14:38 southlakesvibes Echoes of Helia: possible support niche?
Apologies if this has already been discussed to death, I've not seen it raised.
Echoes of Helia is unusual in that the damage and healing are flat values, with no scaling. Taric is already suspected busted with this item as a result, since he's able to damage, heal and shield far more frequently than most champions, with the low numbers attached to these events being irrelevant given Helia uses flat values.
It struck me that there might be a small niche here for Singed, with Rylai's, Echoes of Helia, and Font of Life. It's very possible some of these interactions don't work, so forgive me.
Font of life marks enemies when they're slowed - which Rylai's facilitates via Singed poison. Allies attacking the marked enemy are healed (mark not consumed, lasts 4 seconds). As far as I'm aware, this *should* meet the requirements of Echoes of Helia; Singed poison inflicts damage, prepping the Helia damage on his next heal, and his allies healing from font of Life should cause the "shards" to be consumed by Helia. I *believe* Font of Life healing consitututes *Singed* healing his allies, rather than his allies self-healing; so I *hope* this interaction works.
Assuming this is the case, Singed's poison is uniquely effective in proccing Helia. It applies damage very frequently, allowing consistent shard stacking, and likewise the slow from Rylais, meaning Font of Life should consistently be refreshed. If you pair Singed with a very fast autoattacker (Tristana, for example), you should be able to get almost perfect optimisation out of Echoes. The tiny heal values Font delivers are irrelevant; they're sufficient to proc Helia.
Any thoughts? Singed likes to build HP, which works with Font; and Helia has some decent gold efficiency and stats. Singed support has always been a very niche and largely gimmicky pick, but there are some champions he has decent synergy with. (Sivir comes to mind).
Please let me know where I'm going wrong :)
Edit: I appreciate that by the time Singed obtains two items (especially as a support), the laning phase is almost guaranteed to be over. Nevertheless, I think this works in the midgame too - perhaps on comps with multiple autoattack specialists. Worth noting Font gets more effective the more people are autoattacking.
Edit 2: Echoes also gives bonus AP based on bonus mana regen. Whilst Singed really needs durability, I think Redemption deserves a look; and Imperial Mandate, but only if it can be procced by the slow from Rylai's on your Q (scales too badly to base this around your W imo).
Edit 3: Yeah this sucks. Echoes has some kind of inbuilt cooldown for damage over time spells. Poison only builds stacks about once every 2 seconds. Probs not worth building.

2023.05.02 10:21 Kyet0ai When to Dodge, high platinum and below.
As the title says.
One of the things you start to pay more attention as you climb the ladder is team compositions and win conditions. This isn't meant to be a guide, it's just my experience as a jungler and deciding in champ select, runes, build path and towards which lane I should play in order to get my win condition online sooner.
So I just rather dodge and take the LP penalty instead of losing 30+ minutes of my time and save my mental for games I think are easier to win, execute team comp. I should also mention that I don't consider myself a good player at all. I've peaked plat 1 this season and currently rubber banding ranks between my peak and plat 3. so take this with a grain of salt.
Botlane : Ezreal, Senna, Yuumi or Twitch (if not a premade party with the adc).
Mid: GP, Kayle, any adc mid except Tris or Akshan and even then I sometimes dodge if Akshan mid is picked as I think its a 50/50 at best because they don't usually push and roam to exploit the champion's strengths.
JG: any weird pick like singed, fizz, zyra, taric, etc I know there are high elo OTP for everyone of those champions in the jg. I just don't trust a plat player to have the agency on weird picks.
Top: Vayne, because, fuck any player who picks vayne top, Graves, same reasoning, but even worse because the champion has even less range to play against some meta picks that just stomp them.
Full AD or AP comps.
I usually play jg, low mechanical champions, mainly Udyr, Shyvana and Nocturne. And most of the times I play for my carries, building tanky, even on nocturne, with an Iceborn/Bortk. So in my mind if I can't get my laners ahead I feel the game gets significantly harder. Some games, when I get fed early I build more offensive and try to snowball and carry myself, while still playing towards my laners and win condition. The games I get autofilled I ask for the supp role as it's so op to play it as a jungler because you link up with them and take over the game easily most of the time.
Anyone else has some picks to add to the discussion? What is your experience with these picks that might help me give the benefit of the doubt to them. Yasuo is a great example. I used to ban him, just not to play with one on my team. But I can accept that there are pretty good Yasuos in my elo, so I've made that turn by myself seeing them carry games, with and against. Specially when you enable them, be it with picks with knockups or ganking their lane.

2023.04.29 13:52 Zamamiro We're already enduring negative net LP, now we gotta deal with these bots in rank as well?
| || | submitted by Zamamiro to leagueoflegends [link] [comments]
Gaining +19 -29 seems to be not enough, we get to play with bots in rank now? Or is this something that's already happening even in the past?
These Tarics just follow you around doing nothing the whole game. Playing ADC with bots like these is so fcking annoying. Checking their profile history, they just play the intro then heads straight to rank even at level 1. I thought there was a level 30 entry? Look at that build At least this has a support item. Never used it tho
I'm now officially traumatize with Taric support. My precious 8-0 Ashe was tainted ; _ ;
