 | When I was newer to Canadian Highlander I would spend a lot more Mondays playing new decks. I would make changes according to what I saw not working and what was working. This process of slowly changing a deck would always lead to the same outcome: the deck would slowly change into a well-known good deck and all my "fun" additions or ideas would go out the window. This went on for a while and I enjoyed playing decks that would, over time, be changed into classic lists like Blue Moon, UW Control, Kiki-Jiki, and Bant Blade. I did pretty well overall, 2nd or 3rd, I don't remember, and I mostly won from using serra's sanctum to cast 10 mana Ulamog. The fact that the deck didn't completely crash and burn made me want to play it in Canadian Highlander. So my journey with playing enchantress began. I have been playing this deck for about 6-7 years and it's the same deck I played at Yellowjacket two Mondays ago when I won. My enchantress deck started off GW Enchantress with the primary intention of ramping to 15 mana and casting Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. It also ran Sigil of the Empty Throne, Squirrel Nest/Earthcraft, RIP/Helm, and a fair Oath of druids that would sometimes hit Emrakul too. It utilized Fastbond to play all the additional lands I would draw from enchantresses. It would usually go in two different directions and then lose due to the cards not all working together. I had to have decent draws in order to get the ball rolling. It was a lot of fun, but it did not win tournaments. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/canadian-highlander-enchantress-1/ I changed the deck to be more defensive after that. I used Glacial Chasm and Story Circle to keep myself alive as well as cards like Quarantine Field and Runed Halo to disrupt my opponent's plans. However, I was still running cards like Coercive Portal and Harmonize to draw cards, instead of relying on the enchantresses. It still did not win tournaments and it was, arguably, more of a mess than the first list. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/canadian-highlander-enchantress-version-2/ My next change added a blue and red splash to the deck. I brought the mana curve down as far as I could and included 1 mana enchantments that wouldn't always do very much (Authority of the Consuls) because they would be a quick way to draw off of an enchantress and add to Serra's Sanctum. I changed the card draw to rely on enchantresses or Mystic Remora. Also I removed the two moxen I was using for fast mana and instead tried out Platinum Emperion/Madcap Experiment combo; it was short-lived. This deck did indeed draw a bit more off of enchantresses, however it was too reliant on specific cards like Argothian Enchantress, Glacial Chasm, Solitary Confinement, or Serra's Sanctum. It needed to work better without always having those tools. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/canadian-highlander-bant-fastress/ This is when I discovered Thought Lash. A card that essentially makes your deck your life total. It was weak to life lost since it prevented damage dealt to you, but the most common life lost card at the time was Deathrite Shaman, which wasn't very fast. I included more tutors with this list like Wargate and Worldly Tutor, but the idea of the deck was basically the same. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/canadian-highlander-enchantress-2019/ I actually took a break here and also covid happened around this point so there's a big change in the cards available in this next list since it's years later. The next big change was including a lands package with Strip Mine, Mana Breach, Retreat to Hagra, Hour of Promise, Nylea's Intervention, Ramunap Excavator, and Reap and Sow. Some new enchantresses had been printed in this time frame and I also included the Phyrexian Unlife/Solemnity combo. At this point the deck was doing much better than previously. I managed to get my first QP (Monday night win at Yellowjacket) with this list so I knew I was going in the right direction with the inlusion of lands. At this point I was somewhat convinced that my deck was going to slowly become a classic lands deck as all the enchantress stuff came out and more and more lands utility went in, but then came the release of Thassa's Oracle. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/11-02-20-enchantress/ Thassa's Oracle works well with Thought Lash, which was already a card I often tutored for. It also worked well with drawing my whole deck since multiple enchantresses would allow for that. I included demonic consultation to combo with it and give me the potential god draw and off I went. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/my-current-enchantress/ I was met with another problem here: I would often be going in the enchantress direction and a combo win direction at the same time. It wasn't good to play to two different game plans at the same time. So, I removed all the bad enchantresses and made it more about comboing with Thassa's Oracle and sometimes drawing a bunch from Argothian. I also added more removal since Opposition Agent and other newly printed cards are extremely good against me. This is also the first inclusion of Field of Dreams. A surprisingly good card in this deck when I got out a Thought Lash to protect myself. Step 1: Keep myself alive with Thought Lash. Step 2: Tutor for Field of Dreams using Idyllic Tutor, Wargate, Enlightened Tutor, or Profane Tutor. Courser of Kruphix also works if all I have is Eladamri's call. Step 3: On my upkeep, pay Thought Lash's cumulative cost, then exile cards until I saw Thassa's Oracle, draw Thassa's Oracle and cast it, then exile rest of library. It's not perfect since I may exile Oracle to keep myself alive. However, I can still exile until I like my draw, which is usually enough to win even without Thassa's Oracle. Also, I still include Unbridled Growth and you may be wondering why. It allows a land like Tabernacle to tap for mana, but the main reason I still play it is because of the instant speed draw. If I am exiling cards to Thought Lash and I can see the top card (Field of Dreams) then if I see Thassa's Oracle, I can draw it with Unbridled Growth or a horizon land, then continue exiling to Thought Lash to keep myself alive. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/thassas-landchantress-1/ This is when I bit the bullet and removed enchantress entirely. What I found was that the deck was actually well-defined at this point. I did not need to remove any other groups of cards and I did not need to make one part of it better represented. I was no longer doing two things at once. It may be hard to realize this from the deck list but all the cards meld together really well. Every combination of cards are working together now instead of in two directions. It's also extremely fun. My earlier fear of the deck becoming a classic lands list somewhat came true and somewhat did not. It's got "lands" in its name, but it's quite different than what a classic lands list would be. Persistent Damage Rules for reference.
I was a bit curious about the math of Persistent Damage (PD), namely how many rounds its likely to last, when its best to spend an action to increase the odds of the PD stopping, and get a better understanding of how strong PD effects are. However, I am not great at math so its very possible I'm wrong, please be gentle.
So the flat DC 15 check means there's a 75% chance of the PD continuing from Round 1 (R1) to Round 2 (R2). Note that the PD happens before the DC 15 check, so unless the PD is entirely negated with a Recovery Action (RA) they'll take at least 1 tick of PD.
Assuming no RA's are ever taken, on R2 there'll be another DC 15 check. 0.75 * 0.75 = 0.5625, so let's say 56% chance the PD will make it from R1 to R3. Then 42% for R4, 31% for R5, 23% for R6, 18% for R7, 13% for R8, 10% for R9, and 7% for R10.
Per the PD rules, "Persistent damage runs its course and automatically ends after a certain amount of time as fire burns out, blood clots, and the like. The GM determines when this occurs, but it usually takes 1 minute." and the odds of the PD continuing beyond R10 are very low anyway, so I think only looking up to R10 makes sense.
Let's then compare the damage of two classic examples, the Lesser versions of Acid Flask and Alchemist's Fire. Fire has more upfront damage while Acid has more PD, so at what point does Acid deal more damage? What are the odds of Acid PD lasting long enough to out-damage the Fire? Fire does 1d8 upfront (avg 4.5) and then 1 PD each round. Acid does 1 upfront damage and then 1d6 PD each round (avg 3.5).
Assuming no RA's, the Acid will out-damage the Fire by R2 and will have dealt 4 more damage total than the Fire before it gets below a 50% chance of ending in R4. At level 1, that's a Big Deal! After they both end after R10, the Acid will have dealt 21.5 more damage than the Fire! So it seems like the Acid is the obvious right choice, yeah?
But wait! What about Recovery Actions (RA)?. If an RA is taken, assuming its not the kind that automatically ends the PD, that changes the flat check from a DC 15 to a DC 10. 50% chance of the PD ending each round the RA is taken, which makes sense as RA's are typically 2 actions. If those are done each round, the odds of the PD continuing drop real fast, with only a 25% chance of making it to R4. How does that effect the choice between Acid and Fire?
The answer is: not much. You're still dealing more average damage with Acid by R2, which has a 50% chance of happening of the target took an RA, in which case they spend 2 actions that turn. In PF2's 3-action system, that's hugely debilitating! Unless the enemy is either immune/resistant to acid OR weak to fire, Acid Flask seems like the clear right choice.
Also to consider is how easy it is to take the RA. Will it take a skill check? What's the DC for that skill check? Does it require any special items, like something to smother the fire or neutralize the acid? That's largely all dependent on the GM, so if you plan on using abilities/spells/items with PD check with your GM about how easy it'll be to do RA's.

iCloud Photo is turned on her iPhone.
To get backups of photos & videos at full resolution is it better to:

Also if people don't mind sharing how they backup locally when iCloud Photo is turned on I'll appreciate it.
Finally, I currently only have a "vintage" MacMini; rest are Windows PCs

Okay guys, you're going to have to suspend your disbelief a little for this one. Please just go with it. I've faced enough persecution in my life for people on Reddit to be calling me a Liar. This all started a little over a month ago.
Picture it. I'm a regular 30ish year old guy, an engineer working at a state agency (after I left my high-paying engineer job to become a public servant). I'm from the Bible Belt, but I've been an atheist since I can remember. I've spent basically my whole life unlearning all the shit society teaches young white men, and I feel like everything in my Life finally fell into place. I was in the hospital for a couple of days for an injury that had laid me low, but now I've recovered. I've finally gotten my meds straight for my depression/anxiety/adhd (Honestly I've pretty much got 'em all, folks, but I'm medicated and going to therapy, so all is well except for, y'know, the FU that was about to happen). I've got my own house, and just made a 5-figure sum from a side project I've been working on for a couple years, all my siblings are doing well, and so are our parents. I was talking to this cute boy on a video chat, I think I might be in love. We had just ended the call when suddenly! A picture came into my mind of the two of us getting married in front of the White House. And I was like. . The White House? President? What? Me?
And then another of my sweet Mamma, and how proud she would be that her son grew up to be a preacher. And I was like, a preacher? What the Hell?? And then another of all the right-wingers in the US when Jesus comes back and gets elected President. And I was like PRESIDENT JESUS???
And then BOOM!
It felt like God reached his hand into my brain and flipped the switch from "No Gods" to "I am God Now". I saw time and space compressed before me in an instant. Picture it. I'm a regular 30ish year old guy, an engineer working at a state agency (after I left my high-paying engineer job to become a public servant). I'm from the Bible Belt, but I've been an atheist since I can remember. I've spent basically my whole life unlearning all the shit society teaches young white men, and I feel like everything in my Life finally fell into place. I was in the hospital for a couple of days for an injury that had laid me low, but now I've recovered. I've finally gotten my meds straight for my depression/anxiety/adhd (Honestly I've pretty much got 'em all, folks, but I'm medicated and going to therapy, so all is well except for, y'know, the FU that was about to happen). I've got my own house, and just made a 5-figure sum from a side project I've been working on for a couple years, all my siblings are doing well, and so are our parents. I was talking to this cute boy on a video chat, I think I might be in love. We had just ended the call when suddenly! A picture came into my mind of the two of us getting married in front of the White House. And I was like. . The White House? President? What? Me?
And then another of my sweet Mamma, and how proud she would be that her son grew up to be a preacher. And I was like, a preacher? What the Hell?? And then another of all the right-wingers in the US when Jesus comes back and gets elected President. And I was like PRESIDENT JESUS???
And then BOOM!
It felt like God reached his hand into my brain and flipped the switch from "No Gods" to "I am God Now". I saw time and space compressed before me in an instant. A small nut that seems to attach the chain ring to bottom bracket (around the crank arms) keeps slowly coming loose and making the chain ring wobble. I can tighten this by hand and place the chain back on and it will stay on for a few miles, then it happens again. Ive attached a picture of the offending part. I was thinking and came up with an idea(I don't know does it make any sense or have any application to anything and maybe someone has already come up with this before), but the concept play's with the idea of infinities. Here it goes: Consider a cylindrical object. We can draw a line segment on the surface of the cylinder, perpendicular to the base and top of the cylinder, such that it touches all points on the surface along the line that is perpendicular to the base and top. We can draw infinitely many such line segments on the surface of the cylinder without any overlap. In this scenario, we have a bounded infinity (the set of points on the surface of the cylinder), within which there are bounded infinities (these line segments) an unbounded infinity of times. So in a nutshell we have a bounded infinity(The set of dots on the surface of cylinder), that contains an unbounded infinite amount(the amount of these lines) of bounded infinities(The set of dots of the line). TLDR: Bounded infinity containing unbounded infinite amount of bounded infinities.

He's from Canada, has Nexus, and arrived as a visitor (B2) on October 22, 2022. We will be married for 4 years in August. We have a 17-year age gap (I am younger).
We concurrently filed I-130, I-485 (with I-864), I-765, and I-131, and submitted I-693 via a paper application to the Chicago Lockbox. We sent the package on May 11, 2023.
We included the following evidence for our marriage:
Submission date: May 12, 2023 (Receipt # begins with IOE09206)
May 19, 2023: Notice that Biometrics Appointment was scheduled in Seattle
June 7, 2023: Biometrics Appointment
June 8, 2023: Approval notice for I-765
I-130 and I-485 have the status of Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS as of June 7th.
I-131 still has the status of Case Was Received And A Receipt Notice Was Sent from May 12th.
I have my fingers crossed that at the very least his travel permit will be approved next. After that, USCIS can take as long as they like to approve his GC. I had to wait a long time for my permanent residency in Canada due to COVID, so we know how slow everything can be and how much the wait sucks.
ETA: We did not receive a notification that the EAD was approved. I happened to look at our account today and saw the document under the documents tab.

We recently have seen each other and he has kind of agreed to split the business, but since that time weeks ago, he still does not answer. Here is the problem, he took a super expensive equipment ( commercial air compressor and put it in his parents house back yard. Can I legally go bring a pick up truck and take it out of the backyard? Can I Bring a police officer to go retrieve it? I am the one who owns the invoice and receipt with the machine part number.
He just does not answer my calls about splitting the company or texts and I have significantly more $ in the company and I Want to sell my assets and get out.
Let me also specify that we have no operating agreement other than we are both MGR partners on the llc on sun biz. ( I know an OA would have been great.)
What is my recourse?
