This won't apply to everyone probably, considering that the reasons of why a person develops dpdr symptoms are various and different in nature.
Semantic satiation and wordnesia are common phenomena that happen to everyone. You probably have experienced them too.
The thing is that when we feel weird/fucked up while looking at family, ourselfes, locations etc. what happens is basically those 2 things but projected onto different subjects. The subjects are not the words anymore, but are other people, things or our own face.
How is this helpful: this proves that those weird symptoms are not harmful, by definition. Actually, everything is ok, even if the feeling is there. The problem is "simply" that because of the hightened anxiety and stress we are more likely to experience them (I guess) and also more likely to kind of obsess on them. As a redditor said, dpdr is reality overchecking on overdrive mode.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentleman,
Welcome to the Mysterious World of Cyrathier. Very little information is shared with the players outside of the base information from there faction/homeland prior to the first game. Basic information to know is that this world is young with the original settlers arriving ~300 years prior. Most ancestries have created there own tight knit community's but in the past couple decades war has settles down and trade has been prosperous. The world should feel new and exciting and I felt long player handouts to be detrimental to this effect.
This campaign is my first attempt at world building after running a game for three years in the forgotten realms and wanting to stretch my creative legs(well nubs at this point).
Important information for prospective players. This game will be run online using Fantasy Grounds Unity through my GM license.
Voice will be over Discord with the potential to move back to webcam and voice through zoom once my new house has a better internet connection (starlink install under way but need to test through put and stability before switching from my current stable setup).
All of my current players have work/family/commitments outside the game. At times this means being unable to attend sessions which is the main reason I'm bringing in new players. My current group is 4 players and we have a standing rule of 1 person being down the game continues, 2 the game is postponed unless we are at a place that we can do side missions/downtime activities with those available.
Games are run Friday evening Central time from 7PM and ending sometime between 10 and 11PM.
No Evil alignments, and I don't allow interparty combat unless if it prearranged between the players prior to playing out in game.
No Elves/Drow/Etc - Half elves are allowed but extremely rare and typically a traumatic backstory - not recommended
No limitations of class and current party consists of a Catfolk Ranger, Dwarf Fighter, Gnome Sorcerer, Ratfolk Alchemist. 1 Character change prior to level 5, after this it is assumed you want to stick with this character through the entire 1-20 run of this campaign.
With all of the above stated at the end of the day DND is all about having fun. I expect my players to let me know if they aren't enjoying something so I can improve as a DM and we can work together for a solution.

These are hard conversations to have sometimes, and sometimes you might not be ready for it.

Talking to people is expected of the game.
With respect to parties that can't have a conversation due to their own reasons, I offer this.
Find an advocate/representative that can anonymously bring up these concern at events.
In no certain order:

1. MTG Judge (receives basic introduction by Judge Academy on conflict resolution)
2. Tournament OrganizeEvent Runner
3. Store Owner
4. Another player in the pod (This is the last option I would pick, if I would pick it)

Imagine if these problems are going on, and the people actually responsible for store environments aren't even aware it's happening.
How does that look if they can't even get a chance to fix it until it's too late?
Even if you can't talk about a concern, the conversation still should be had with said party.
You aren't being a ________ (local name for douchebag), you are helping maintain a positive climate.

Bonus Note: Ask for a second opinion, as something you might find revolting might just be a personality trait that only you hold, like:
"My opponent isn't making eye contact with me, and it's making me lose focus."
"Player B didn't say gesundheit when I sneezed, I can't believe it"
"This player taps lands to the left, instead of the right. I'm going to target them all night now."
Check your bias, but, if you can't have the conversation, someone needs to.
Get the message across to the other party.
There is no point in you suffering in silence in your LGS and using Reddit as a outlet for frustration while a rotten apple is spoiling your shop.

Just found out that recent research (2015) shows social anxiety has a definite link to too much serotonin in the brain (google it). The amygdala is firing off like crazy.
"Individuals with social phobia make too much serotonin. The more serotonin they produce, the more anxious they are in social situations. Previous studies have led researchers to believe that individuals with social anxiety disorde social phobia have too low levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin."
Weirdly....

• Depression and anxiety = too little serotonin
• Social phobia = too much serotonin

Worryingly...

• Most SA advice is about increasing serotonin, copying what's done to counter anxiety...
• SSRI's increase serotonin uptake in the brain - good for anxiety, bad for social anxiety...

So, theoretically, a way to lower the symptoms/event intensity is to lower the amount of serotonin in the brain.
Here's what I've come up with (do your own research though ok?)

1. Watch out for foods super high in simple carbs. Simple carbs result in insulin release, which calls nutrients into the muscles, thereby reducing tryptophan's amino-acid competition to get into the brain, increasing it's access. Tryptophan is the building blocks of serotonin.
2. BCAA's - Brain chain amino acid supplements, as used by athletes & bodybuilders, compete with tryptophan for the same brain access. Increasing the amount of these, decreases tryptophans efficacy.

The research is published every where: Google 'social anxiety serotonin'. to see a selection.
What to do about it isn't so well designed...
But though I'd let you know, it's another avenue to investigate....

This My first go at make something I want to make it simple but also look good i been working on for the last week on and off. also I done a video of it in-game as i love making and editing videos. for the longs time i been want a staff that look good with the music aura but ever thing i saw just made it look odd or to me not fell right so why not i try make something and see what happens so this what i came up with.

Ok so I went back to the drawing board and talk to some d&d mates of my and our game master well this happen and i think its epic and from streaming part of make of on twitch and hear input from many players i know i think its ready.
First of with my game master and d&d mates we made some lore around it.

Long time ago a deadly lich liven in the curse vale had just beating some adventures and found on the body of one a drawing of a odd looking guy holding a some thing. to the lich it look like some staff of evil power but all it was a photo from bard weekly of a singer holding a guitar by its neck about to brake it on the ground. The lich want it but had not ever seen this in any of his many books so it start to make him self over many months of work it was finished but it was missing some thing to give its power so he took a gem and Imbued with the soul of a powerfully creature. Now he was not that good at give things a name so he call his new staff Sound Of death.

I'm using a new handle for this post, hope that's ok.
I had of course heard about "the bowl" in the past but never really took it seriously because frankly, I'm not wealthy. I have a nice 6 figure income, but also have lots of expenses so I really don't have a lot of free cash flow. I also don't have a lot of free time.

I'm not suggesting this is a game for cheapskates, just that a lot of times the girls themselves are only needing a bit of help but mainly they want a real man who will show them a good time, give them good advice, help them out with some of life's daily struggles. I've given advice on cell phone repair, car repair, student loan debt, car purchases, job changes, you name it. It feels good to help.

For the ladies: - The man you want to attract is very busy. Likely he has worked for decades in a very serious, competitive career. He has little to no tolerance for excuses, bullshit, flaking. He may have daughters of his own, so the usual "girl tricks" to manipulate men might not work on him. He's not a sucker, but he does want what you have - your youthful beauty, your lust for exploring and learning, your positive attitude. Just get the basics right, communicate, be responsive, don't play games.

• Understand the fundamental law of "dating" online is that there are a hundred + other girls listed with you, and every POT is going down the list... if you miss out, there's another one coming soon - same for him. So if you want to catch a good one, play smart. Be honest, sincere, to the point.
  
• What does your SD want? Me, I wanted great sex with a young willing woman... and yeah, fun times on dates and stuff but to be honest I wanted to get laid, with a woman who appreciates good sex. For all the flowery language, that's what a lot of guys want. But, here's the key - I don't want to have sex with someone who is not attracted to me. That's a hooker. I want my partner to be into me. I had to cut out several POTs who were all about the money but obviously were not into me. Please dont waste your time or your POTs time.
  
• Feelings. So far it's been good. Lots of mutual affection and friendly banter but we all know it's casual. I think part of the key is like with any FWB / NSA relationship, keep it light, don't assume "ownership" and be clear up front about what this is.
  

Anyway, wanted to share, have fun out there.

Me and a group of buddies are planning to go visit a friend of ours, and get fucked on acid. I'm about to order a test kit.
Problem is, out of the 6 of us, only 1 person has done acid before, and everyone is trying to convince me that we don't need a trip sitter. I don't like this idea because another friend of mine had a really bad experience with LSD, and if someone wasn't with her to make sure she was ok she could have seriously injured herself, possibly died. We all have experience with other substances (lots of weed, Eccies (Molly), some have done coke and pure MDMA), but LSD is a whole different ball game in my mind.
So, the big question: How important really is a trip sitter? For me very, but I could be over-reacting, so I'm looking for an outside opinion. I'd be happy to sit this one out and watch over the boys if it comes to it, but I'm not sure they'll agree to this.
My next issue is convincing them to agree. If a sitter is needed, I want them to be aware that someone will be sober to watch them, so they're not sititng ᗯᗩ♈ᙅᖺᓰﬡᘐ ♈ᖺᗴ ᙡᗩᒪᒪᔕ ᙢᙓᒪ♈ only to realise someone isn't experiencing the same thing. I feel like that would ruin it for them somewhat.

I've recently noticed that a lot of my favourite mangas/mahnwas (ToG, Kubera, The Breakenew Wave, Veritas, Crepuscule, Psyren, FMA, ...) all fit in a certain kategory. They all are Shounen and sometimes fit some cliches (e.g, weak-to-strong), but they are also more serious and grounded than other Shonen (e.g. One Piece, which often is more lighthearded and comedy like). They are not "camp"/overdone like e.g. later Bleach chapters. And while they al have supernatural features, they are not as fantasy like as e.g. Fairytail or generally all 4 "big" shounen. I really like the carefully crafted worlds of ToG and Kubera.
Can anyone recommend similar manga/mahnwas ? Not every features need to fit 100% (some ecci and comedy are always present), but the overall "atmosphere" should be the same. Seinen are ok-ish too.
I already know about Holyland, Angel Densetsu, All Rounder Meguru and Attaque and will read into them a bit soon.

Ok, Mount Barker residents of 12 months who are quite familiar with the hiking options in the immediate surrounds.
We are looking for additional "woods hiking" or hikes of a similar nature in the 20-30 minute drive vicinity that we're not aware of.
Mount Barker Summit, Mount Eagle (that's what I call it) are already done and accounted for, as well as anything that are in the vicinity of the Tunnels. Heysen Trail we're doing in sections, and have done Strath and Eccy. (Side note: finally started from the "start" this weekend while camping in the Flinders. Yay!)
Are there any "hidden" or not as well traveled hiking areas that have some woods about that we're not aware of? Any tips would be appreciated.
