Hey everyone, I’ve been meaning to post this for a while now but I didn’t really know what to say and I wanted to spend some time educating myself on the field before I asked any dumb questions (even though I probably will still ask dumb questions, so call me out if I do!)
I am young, not of the age to drink, and I finished a 2 year degree, In my lessons I learned about automation but mainly focused on becoming a technician troubleshooting industrial sites. There was a job posting that I felt somewhat qualified for, it was a absolute dream job to be a controls engineer and somehow I got it. I’m blessed beyond words, I’ve never had a company actually show interest to me and I feel like I owe them a ton for it. Most if not all of my coworkers are ME or EEs, with bachelors degrees and here I am with a associates in what’s supposed to be troubleshooting stuff. When I got hired I kinda assumed controls engineer would mean I was kind of a controls technician, but after asking and learning the company completely separates the two and That I’m not really expected to do a technicians work (wiring, troubleshooting, etc) but they said there are rare occasions where I’ll be doing that. I have knowledge in slick 500, and rslogix 5000, but I must admit it’s not fantastic, and they know that I let them know in each interview but they are fine with that.
My questions are, how can I not mess this up? It’s a dream job but I feel sort of like a fraud, everyone else is far more qualified than me, how can I enhance my abilities and knowledge to provide the value I should to the company that’s given me this chance? I know 90% of what the job requires but do any seasoned workers in the controls field have any tips for me? What are some other duties that aren’t really discussed so I can spend time learning them? Thank you all so much, any tips would be greatly appreciated, I feel like I owe this company so much and I just want to be the best worker I can be for them.

Hey! I just got a new acoustic guitar that I have been playing a lot on the banks of a creek near my house. I’ve felt so connected with water and it’s so peaceful and serene.
I decided I’d like to name the Guitar something water inspired. Since the guitar is from a Japanese company (Ibanez), I thought it would be cool to name it “Mizu”.
My understanding after looking online is this basically means “cold water”, which I think is perfect!
I’d also like to make a sticker or some kind of marking with the kanji for mizu, which I believe is “水”
This also seems to be a Chinese character however, and pronounced “Shui”
So I just want to make sure this is correct and wouldn’t be a clumsy use of the word “Mizu” and character “水”

It's been a minute since I posted here but I figured I would share. Since the pandemic began I made the decision to move from Seattle to Charlotte, which ultimately was a very bad move for me. I am a nurse and even with my wages it just wasn't enough to cover the rising costs of living. I often ended up relying heavily on credit cards. I didn't save the entire time I was down there. My savings also went from around 7k to 1250.
I got into a car accident at the end of October of 2022 and it made a bad situation much worse. Cat also needed a lot of care that i simply wasn't able to afford. With having to rent out a car for work I barely had anything left after bills. I also ended up developing a gluten sensitivity on top of an existing lactose and pork intolerance, which made even cooking expensive. I did post here and got some good responses, but also ended up blocking people really lacking in empathy.
I did get a settlement because my car was totaled. The accident was partly caused by my being burnt out from work. I ended up going back to Seattle because staying in Charlotte wasnt worth it. The supervisors at my old job were really toxic and my paychecks were always wrong. Unfortunately that particular job was the best paying one for my type of work.
Moving back to Seattle has been an extremely good decision. I am now making something under 100k (it seems that nursing is even more short staffed here than back east. Overtime is always available at the job but so far don't need it) have lots of access to gluten and dairy free foods which often end up being on sale and have lots of places to eat out at. I can now afford to do bouldering again. I am also able to feed my cat better and have been able to afford his care. He does have a surgery coming up Monday which I am hoping will go well. I was able to find a place to split payments to make it easier on me.
I have lots of disposable income after bills, even with rent now being $1858 as opposed to $1130 in Charlotte. I had to get another car for my job, but it's the only time I use it. I take public transit or walk for everything else. I think living in NYC on around 50k per year really helped me to budget for living in a big city.
I am slowly catching up from about 2 years of financial damage. I have found a great church, have made lots of connections, I am thankful that even after bills and food, I am able to take up hobbies and start paying the bills back slowly. The only downside is that I won't be taking a destination vacation anytime soon until I pay off more of the short term bills. I am also able to afford to get tests run to make sure my digestive issues don't have an underlying cause and to check on my overall health. Eventually I also plan on getting my teeth cleaned.
I didn't realize how unhappy and unhealthy I had been the last two years. I ended up having to neglect a lot of things because I couldn't afford it. Living in a LCOL living area doesn't always work, especially if you are single and lower middle class. Sometimes a move might just be what one needs.

I went to the Philly show last night, and I didn't realize so many people had a bad experience. I went with my best friend and our moms. Maybe the reason our experience wasn't bad was because we were trying to stay towards the back, but my friend and I definitely noticed that it was a bit weird when The Used went on stage and, seemingly magically, the people just... compressed. Don Broco was awesome, and we are gonna start listening to their stuff after this awesome performance. Their lead singer definitely had more energy than The Used guy, which kinda left us bored by the latter. We weren't very familiar with any songs by The Used, which may have been part of our boredom, but we also didn't know anything by Don Broco and still enjoyed that a lot.
Pierce the Veil was amazing, but I think that is to be expected. Vic is such a fun performer and seems like such a nice and chill dude. I still don't really know what happened with the three girls ending up on stage and I don't know if any of them got the guitar, though overall, fantastic experience.
Also, it is very funny to me that no one has said anything about Deathbyromy. Honestly, she was okay. I wasn't expecting anything because I didn't know what was gonna happen, so I wasn't disappointed. I wasn't wowed either, but she wasn't bad.

Just started using Dermadry and I'm going to try and update this every other day to help keep me on track and using it as frequently as I am supposed to because I'm bad about sticking to a routine. This may be more for myself than anything, but if someone else finds it useful, even better. I'll try and format it by sections so you can just read the parts you're interested in.
Dermadry Treatment:
Using the "Upgraded version" with the rubbery bottom mat, and hexagonal grid top mat. I am using bottled water at room temp, however, I have read others using different types of water, and even adding chemicals to the water. For now, I will stick with bottled water, and depending on the results in 2 months, I may change it up.
6/10/23 - 10:00 AM Treatment 1: I used ~250ml of room temp bottled water in each tray. Set the current strength to 5mA to just feel it out (1-15mA is recommended). For the first couple of minutes, I couldn't feel anything, but as we approached the 15min mark I could feel a slight tingling and my hands were a little itchy. The biggest surprise came at the 15min, 10min, and 5min mark (I think). The voltage readout displayed "L5" and I felt a shock strong enough to make my forearms spasm and tense up. It wasn't painful, just a weird feeling, and I assume this has to do with its rotating current phases. Their website states "L5 will be displayed when the tension is lower than 5 volts." I don't know what that means, but I will contact customer support about it. My hands were a bit sweaty after I finished up, and the itchiness was gone after a few minutes, but after an hour my hands dried up a bit and have been completely dry for several hours. I plan on doing it again at 5mA tomorrow and then give it a day of rest before upping the voltage up to 7 or 8mA.
Background: I'm in my late 20s and have suffered from sweaty hands for as long as I can remember. I would say I have it moderate during most of the day, but in social situations, it can go up to a 10 in severity. I'm talking wiping my hands with a paper towel over 10min will completely soak it through. At its worst, I can clench my fist and literally have beads of sweat run off. I get a bit self-conscious in social situations, but I wouldn't say I have bad social anxiety. But it's this slight nervousness that really sets off my sweaty hands.
Improvised treatments: I started out trying to dry my hands with harsh chemicals on a few occasions when I knew I had a social event of some sort that would involve shaking hands. I would soak my hands in brake cleaner or rubbing alcohol as I work with them and had it lying around. Alcohol would just dry it for a bit, but sweating would come back 10-fold within 30min after. Brake cleaner lasted a while longer, but is absolutely terrible for your skin, your health, etc. Please for the love of god, DO NOT use brake cleaner, I was young and stupid and it only worked for a few hours at a time. I also tried wearing latex gloves during my entire time working as it caused me to sweat a bunch and would get my hands to sweat so much, that sometimes it would prevent me from sweating further the rest of the day. This kind of worked, but my work environment has changed, and working in latex gloves now would just make people think I was a psycho. My final attempt was to just get healthy. For a whole year, I dropped almost all caffeine, drank nothing but water, and dietary/workout shakes, worked out and had a diet to match with hardly any dietary cheating. This helped out mostly with social situations, as I wouldn't be near as self-conscious, but I still would get severe sweating during dates, big meetings, and school tests.
Antiperspirants: I bought some Dove Clinical Strength antiperspirant and used that for a while, applying it before bed, or during the day and letting dry under a fan for 15-30min. This would help for normal day stuff, but the moment anything like a date, or a meeting with a boss occurred, it would be like I hadn't done anything. After about two weeks of on-and-off applications, I switched to trying Certain Dri with the results being about the same. The third product I tried was Sweat Block Wipes which were less effective than the previous ones. Not saying these products aren't good, they just weren't effective for me. The last product I tried was Antihydral, I ordered this at the same time as Dermadry and was by far the best. One application with just enough that you could tell there was a layer on there, and let dry for 15-30min under a fan kept my hands dry for days at a time. I only tried this a couple of times before my Dermadry unit came in, so this is my fallback plan if Dermadry doesn't work. I hear from some users the effectiveness of Antihydral can wear off over time, so I have put that on pause while I just do Dermadry.
Medical treatments: I went to a dermatologist and was prescribed Glycopyrrolate. This would help if taken in high doses, but when I got a new dermatologist he highly advised against taking it in the dosages I was. I still have a lot of it left over, and will still take it before a date or social event. In combination with the antiperspirants, this is still fairly effective but requires planning ahead and remembering to take it. I have fairly good medical insurance, but after talking it over with the doctor, the cost of Botox with the side effects and longevity of the treatment made me put it off as a final Hail Mary if all else fails. Finally, I got Dermadry and that's what I'm starting now, and we will see how this works for me.

Hawai’i nei. When I think of Hawaii football, I think of a rich state-wide sporting culture that manifests as 11 warriors flying around the football field. Hawaii’s had an up and down, but very proud, football history. Going 0-12 in 1998 to subsequent 9-4 and 3-9 records the following years might be a perfect microcosm of Rainbow Warrior football. For me, and I’m sure for a lot of other fans, the Colt Brennan Hawaii teams in ‘06 and ‘07 were some of the funnest teams to ever watch, and I look forward to watching games in the new Aloha Stadium once complete.

Hawaii’s 0 consensus All-Americans is surprising given the talent of some players that’ve come through the Aloha state. WR Greg Salas led the nation in receiving yards in 2010, catching 119 passes for 1889 yards and 14 TD, but still couldn’t get everyone to say “this guy’s an All-American.” Neither could WR Ashley Lelie, who was 2nd in 2001 with 1713 yards, and led the nation with 19 TD. Not to mention Colt Brennan and some of the other skill position players from those 2006/07 teams. Players aside, Hawaii’s had a healthy rate of winning seasons (20 seasons of .500 win % or better), conference titles (1 every 10 years), players drafted (over 1 a year), and has a winning bowl record, including a 6-4 record in Hawaii Bowls.

Worst Season: 1998 (0-12 overall, 0-8 WAC)
Hawaii STUNK. Coach Fred von Appen finished his 3 year tenure as head coach with a 5-31 record, with 1998 being Hawaii’s only ever winless season. #24 Arizona, whose coaching staff featured Hawaii coaching expats Dick Tomey, Rich Ellerson, and Bob Wagner, beat the Warriors 27-6 in the opener. It set the tone for the season, as Hawaii went winless while Arizona finished 12-1. After a loss to Utah, 0-20 and 0-28 losses to Arkansas State and SMU put them at 0-4. The closest score the rest of the season season was just 10 points in a 20-30 loss to New Mexico. Worst losses included 13-30 to 3-8 UTEP, 17-45 to 4-8 San Jose State, 12-51 to 5-6 Fresno State, and 21-47 to 3-9 Northwestern. Overall, Hawaii ranked dead last in offense with 12.4 PPG while giving up 35.2 PPG against the 79th ranked Strength of Schedule. In 1999 new head coach June Jones would complete the biggest turnaround in NCAA history, winning 9 games.
This ranks as the 5th worst season ever, by any team, since 1983.
5. 1988 (9-3 overall, 5-3 WAC)
Now let’s take it back 10 years in the past, from 1998 → 1988. Hawaii was a better football team back then. 2x Super Bowl champion kicker Jason Elam, just a freshman at the time, nailed 47 and 23 yard FGs in the 4th quarter in a 27-24 upset of #9 Iowa. A week 6 matchup between 4-0 Hawaii and 4-1 UTEP would determine who’d be Wyoming’s biggest challenger for the WAC title, but UTEP won 42-25. Andy Reid was an OL coach for the Miners at the time. Hawaii did their best to keep pace in the conference, going 7-2 with close wins over San Diego State and the now defunct Long Beach State 49ers. A loss to #16 Wyoming ended any shot at a WAC title, but wins over Air Force and Oregon to end the year were sweet, with Hawaii finishing the year 2-0 against Power 5/6 teams (Iowa and Oregon). QB Warren Jones was one of the best players in the WAC, leading the conference in passer efficiency, throwing 2000+ yards with 19 TD 11 INT, and adding another 669 and 8 TD on the ground.
4. 2001 (9-3 overall, 5-3 WAC)
The 2001 senior class had had enough. From 0-12 in 1998 to 9-4 then 3-9, what the heck did 2001 have in store? Nobody knew. The season opener against FCS team Montana was anyone’s bet, as the Grizzlies were #2 in the FCS rankings. Hawaii won 30-12, but 2 straight one-possession losses had them fall to 1-2. That’s when QB Nick Rolovich and the offense took flight. 3 straight wins including a 66-7 pummeling of UTEP improved Hawaii to 4-2. Hosting David Carr and #18 Fresno State in a packed Aloha Stadium of 38,000, Rolovich threw a 20 yard TD pass with 13 seconds left to win the Golden Screwdriver 38-34. Splitting their next 2 games, Hawaii was 6-3 with 3 of their toughest games left, and Rolovich WENT NUCLEAR. He outdueled Ben Roethlisberger and 7-3 Miami (OH), throwing 7 TD passes in a 52-51 win. That was followed up by a 5 TD performance against Air Force, winning 52-30. And the best was saved for last. Hosting 12-0, #9 BYU, Rolovich had the performance of a lifetime, throwing 8(!!!) TD passes in a 72-45 shocker, blowing the doors off the Cougars in a sold out 50,000 seat Aloha Stadium. Chad Owens had a kick return TD and punt return TD, and set an NCAA record for return yards in a single game with 342. WR Ashley Lelie had a monstrous 8 catches for 262 yards and 2 TD.
But despite the 9-3 record, Hawaii wasn’t invited to a bowl game, which spawned the creation of the Hawaii Bowl in 2002. Rolovich ended the year with 3361 passing yards 34 TD 9 INT, 3rd in the nation in passing TDs.In his last 3 games, Rolovich had 20 passing TD with just 1 INT, arguably the best 3 game stretch by a player in Hawaii history. Ashley Lelie had 84 catches for 1713 yards and 19 TD, and was the 19th overall pick by the Denver Broncos in the 2002 NFL Draft. Backup QB Timmy Chang would go on to become the NCAA’s all time leading passer with 17,072 yards by 2004.
3. 1992 (11-2 overall, 6-2 WAC)
This isn’t the usual Hawaii team you’re used to. They ran the option. They were 2nd in the nation in rushing. The starting RB ran for more yards than the entire team passed for combined. It makes sense when you notice their 6th year offensive coordinator was Paul Johnson, future Navy and Georgia Tech head coach. The season opener featured a 24-21 win against Oregon in Autzen Stadium, following up with a 6-3 win over an Air Force team that finished 1991 in the top 25, and finishing the opening 3-week stretch with a 36-32 win over BYU, who was coming off 3 straight years of top 25 finishes. After a minor setback against Utah, Hawaii reeled off 4 straight wins to improve to 7-1 and be ranked #24, before losing to San Diego State and Marshall Faulk. Thanks to a 42-18 win over Wyoming, Hawaii clinched a share of the WAC title, sharing it with Fresno State and BYU, both of whom Hawaii beat. The regular season finished with a nice 36-23 win over Pitt, and then 27-17 over Illinois in the bowl. Hawaii finished with an 11-2 record, #20 ranking, and 3-0 record against Power 6 (7?) teams. RB Travis Sims set a Hawaii single season record with 1498 rushing yards, on a WAC-best 6.8 YPC.
2. 2006 (11-3 overall, 7-1 WAC)
And here we have the teams everyone knows about. The June Jones/Colt Brennan “throw it every down because you can’t stop us” offenses that turned kids like me into college football fans. A 1-2 start featured understandable losses at Alabama and at Boise State, who finished 13-0. Hawaii won 10 of their last 11, including a win over 8-5 Nevada, a 54-17 win over 9-4 San Jose State, three 50+ point wins over Idaho, Utah State, and Louisiana Tech, a 42-35 win over Purdue, and finally a 41-24 win over Arizona State in the Hawaii Bowl. Those wins, along with losses to Alabama away, a 10 win Oregon State, and an unbeaten Boise State, earned a #22 final ranking in my algorithm. In some ways, this team was better than their 2007 version that went 12-0.
Hawaii led the nation in scoring with 46.9 PPG, with the next closest team averaging just 39.7 (Boise State). There was a bigger difference between Hawaii and 2nd place than 2nd place and 12th place! QB Colt Brennan set an NCAA record for passing efficiency in a season and passing TDs in a season, completing 72.6% of passes for 5549 yards 58 TD and just 12 INT. Brennan finished 6th in Heisman voting and won the Sammy Baugh Trophy and WAC Offensive POTY. RB Nate Ilaoa was a 5’9 245 lb do-it-all freak of nature, rushing for 990 yards and 13 TD on 7.6(!) YPC, and caught 67 passes for 837 yards and 5 TD. For a 245 lb RB, he accumulated 1827 yards and 18 TD on 9.2 yards per touch! WR Davone Bess led with 1220 receiving yards, Jason Rivers was second with 1178, and Ryan-Grice Mullen (2nd in Hawaii career receiving TDs) added 770. All three had 10+ receiving TDs.
Hawaii had 17 punts all season, setting an FBS record for the least amount of punts per game with just 1.2. There were 5 games in which they didn’t punt a single time!
1. 2007 (12-1 overall, 8-0 WAC)
In 2007, a perfect storm of returning talent + easy schedule combined to help Hawaii complete one of the most magical regular seasons we’ve seen from a team. Hawaii went 12-0, with some games being too close for comfort (45-44 OT win over Louisiana Tech, 42-35 OT over San Jose State, 28-26 over Nevada), but ultimately ending with big wins over #17 Boise State and Washington. #14 Hawaii and #17 Boise State played late in the year for the outright WAC title, with Hawaii coming out on top 39-27, outgaining Boise by 200+ yards with 5 passing TD from Brennan. #10 Hawaii played #4 Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, but the Bulldogs played like the best team in the nation that night, winning 41-10.
Brennan was invited to New York as a Heisman finalist, finishing 3rd. He completed 70.4% of passes for 4343 yards 38 TD 17 INT, and ran for 8 TD. Brennan finished his career as the NCAA’s all time leader in passing TDs with 131, doing so in just 3 years. Hawaii’s esteemed WR trio went off, with Ryan Grice-Mullen snagging 106 balls for 1372 yards and 13 TD, Davone Bess getting 108 catches for 1266 yards and 12 TD, and Jason Rivers catching 92 passes for 1174 yards and 13 TD. SUPER LONG READ WARNING
The past:
We met here, on Reddit, at the height of the pandemic. In May 2022, with COVID restrictions loosneing, I took a flight over the Atlantic to be with her (36F) to finally meet in person. Since then, we’ve met up on four more occasions - sometimes here in my country, sometimes back in hers - with the latest being last month (where I lucky enough to spend time with her on her birthday). Each visit, we had the absolute time of our lives.
As I imagine is the case in all LDRs, despite so, so many good times - online and in person - there were bad times too. In those bad times, I always felt that the vast majority of these times arose as a result of our previous relationships; we had both come out of long-term, unhealthy relationships at similar times and were both initiating divorce proceedings.
Mental abuse. Manipulation. Gaslighting. These were the kind of things that we both encountered from our now ex partners. These things had obviously left marks and even scars on both of us. But we were aware of this. We talked about this, frequently.
The nature of our relationship, predominantly taking place by text messages, but also countless audio and video calls, really helped us to focus on communication. What we didn’t have in physical contact, we made up for in talking openly and honestly, creating a safe space to talk about issues, thoughts and feelings. Good or bad. Positive or negative.
The romance was aplenty. We expressed our love for one another. Even during disagreements or misunderstandings, we made it clear that it didn’t change the love we had for one another. We talked about how much we missed each other when we had to spend time apart. How much we were desperate to be back together as soon as possible. We talked about the future, the ideas of what we wanted when we pulled the trigger on one of us making a permanent move to the other’s country.
Overall, things always looked so positive.
The present:
Until a week ago, I thought I knew what my future looked like. What our future looked like.
Only five days prior (Monday 29th May), I had returned home to the UK following our latest time together in person. Unfortunately, an incident occured towards the end of my trip when we were travelling together - after a long day of travel and exploring, I had begin to shut down, becoming quieter and more withdrawn.
This wasn’t new behaviour from me. I had done this before, from distance through text and audio calls, on numerous occasions. On this occasion, I put it down to a combination of tiredness and scars from my previous relationship - in the past, I often found myself holding back on expressing certain kind of feelings, as stupid as it looks on paper, as my ex-partner would often turn them around on me. “But why are you tired? You slept well. How on Earth could you be? What have you been doing to be that tired? Nothing.” I felt I had to have such a good justification to feel certain ways, especially relating to negative moods: feeling tired; melancholy; anxiety. Everything needed such a well thought out reason. Therefore I found it easier just to withhold this information. Just say “everything is fine” even when my tone or face said otherwise.
As touched upon earlier, me and my long distance partner had openly discussed how our past would make appearances throughout our relationship. When they did, we would work through them together. And we did just that. It may have taken time sometimes to open up, it may have been recurring itrational thoughts that caused a problem, but we got through things, made it clear we would support each other and confirmed our love remained strong.
I would never expect us to solve and conquer any given issues at the first time of trying, or that it would be easy, whichever of us were reliving their past - nonetheless, we did discuss this incident as the evening progressed. I expressed where I felt these feelings came from and apologised for my behaviour. I didn’t think this incident was simply dismissed, but given how we enjoyed the rest of the next and the remainder of this trip, given the way we discussed what happened with a positive conclusion, I felt we had dealt with the matter and moved on.
But as I said, this behaviour of mine had happened before - and it would happen again, once I returned home. Experiencing jet lag and missing my partner dearly, along with some additional factors I faced when arriving home, my mood declined in a similar way. I didn’t express myself to the woman I loved so much, preferring to put up a shield like I did in the past, not wanting her to worry. But when I finally convinced myself to try and address what was going on, my partner was left feeling unsure. More unsure than she ever had done before.
I wanted to give her time to collect her thoughts, thinking the same outcome was coming as it always had before. But I had rested way too long on my laurels. She came back a day later following contemplation time to say she wasn’t sure she wanted this anymore…
As somebody who has experiences issues of anxiety throughout my life, I was aware of how negative thoughts can spiral into irrationality. Clearer heads prevail. But as the days wore on, my confusion and worry grew as her uncertainty wasn’t already becoming clearer. It has never taken this long. With each passing day, the irrational thoughts appeared in my head. This is it. This is the end.
What about all those things we had said about our future over the years, only as long as a few days ago? There was never an inkling that things were on remotely shaky ground, because we always managed to talk and work things out. Nothing ever felt as if it was left unresolved.
I was caught so off guard. As we always had, I expressed these feelings to her. She wanted me to. But as I questioned whether this was really the end, questioned the truth of all those previous statements as a result of this sudden, new territory we were in , the answer came in the early hours of Thursday morning. “I think we shouldn’t continue with thi”.
Of course my issues were triggering, there’s absolutely no denying that and I fully take responsibility for my actions (and lack of). She explained that whilst she felt she had dealt with this behaviour of mine and moved forward, in reality, she realises she had been surpressing her feelings and how much my behaviour had been affected her.
But in telling me what she had benen wrestling with over those past few days, it felt to me that a number of these issues also stemmed from her previous relationship as well. In previous conversations, including those relating to this predicament, she would raise a number of worries: she thought I would find her a “boring buzzkill” because that’s what her ex would tell her; she was sometimes scared I’d get bored of her, like her ex did; she said that her ex would tell her she “always found a problem” in their relationship to complain about and thought I would eventually think the same; her ex would tell her she “ruined everything” and when an issue was once raised during a vacation, he blamed her for the bad mood and for “ruining the entire trip”.
My issues, the one that has arisen again, played a factor, but we were coming to the point where the next step was on the horizon. We had talked about me moving to be with her on a permanent basis, a move that seemed even more logical with my current employer potentially laying off employers in the near future. Even if that wasn’t the case, our next potential trip wouldn’t be possible until October at the earliest. The longest we’ve been apart since meeting up. Now seemed a better time than any to start looking into these plans.
We were both open about this future - and for years, expressed how we couldn’t wait until this day could finally come. We would never have the pain of being apart for long periods of time. One final countdown. Then we could crash, together, after work. Snuggle up close. Turn into couch potatoea together under a blanket. We could cook each other dinner. Cook each other breakfast. Head off to work together. We both really wanted this and expressed it regularly.
But she admitted that the sudden reality of this, now seemingly so close, further added to her mixed feelings. Understandable, I felt - what a big step this will be. But the worries of my behaviour occuring in person when we were together permanently was suddenly too strong to ignore. From what she explained, these kind of doubts formed the basis of her decision.
The future:
We talked. We cried. I didn’t want things to end but didn’t want to be unattractively desperate, grovelling for her to stay. We talked about all of the many great things we experienced together and the feelings we have for one another. She told me she loved me and continues to love me so much. She wants to give me time to heal, have closure… but in the days since that last interaction, I begin to think that I should have been more vocal. She told me that I am free to message her to clarify things, but had also said during our last call that we should probably take some weeks to heal.
I did give in and message her yesterday, just to check in and see how she was and to check whether she was still ok to ask/say some things, especially this soon. She told me she was struggling with not interacting with me in the same ways as usual - sending memes, telling me about her day - and had been thinking about me a lot but ultimately wanted to give me space. Even that gave me hope.
I agreed to put my thoughts together soon, knowing she had a busy weekend with a family wedding, but after so much soul searching over the past few days, replaying and re-reading everything, looking at pictures and videos of our times together, I still strongly feel we could get through this.
I should have acted on my issues sooner, I fully understand that. Especially now, of course. No excuse, but I want to believe that because we always got through these moments, tackled the issues in the moment and moved forward positively, that I became slack at improving myself. But I am determined to be a better person. Not just for her, but for myself too. This issue will affect any partner I would potentially ever have and I recognise how unhealthy, how frustrating it can be to deal with. I’ve booked counselling sessions, one of which I have already undertaken to make a start on addressing this problem.
But I don’t want somebody else to experience the positive changes I’m working on. I want it to be her.
I’m sure some of you have been in similar scenarios, but given my wall of text above, should I be fighting for this like my head and heart are shouting out for me to do? I feel there is so much good still here. So, so much that is worth saving. I fully appreciate the fact that this has all come from one partner’s perspective and I’m happy to try as best I can to elaborate further without giving too much personal/identifiable information away.

Notes about the Supermicro server:
One of the latches that holds down a pcie riser card is damaged as shown in the timestamp. It still works as intended however. I am including two sets of SAS cables to use with the backplane, One with SFF 8087 on the end and the other with SFF 8613. The motherboard has SFF 8087 connectors on it but I believe that they only support up to 8 devices. to use all 12 bays you will need a SAS HBA. Also included is a GPU power cable for if you want to use a GPU with this machine. I used it with a Quadro for some time. I al also including screws for the HDD caddies.

Long story short, this roommate was a piece of shit and after he left, i took over the xfinity wifi services. It came with a flexbox thing for tv services which he kept with himself. We did not have a tv at home anyway.
Now after 5months now that i am moving out and i called xfinity about cancelling my services, they mentioned this box that i had forgotten about.
I contacted this roommate and he refuses to return it. Either he lost it or is being oversmart. Eitherways, i do not know what to do now. I would prefer to not involve law enforcement, unless that is the last option. I am planning to meet with the landlord to hopefully resolve this(this person lives in a different property under the same landlord now).
I also talked to xfinity mentioning that the services were transferred over to me and i did not receive the tv box during this from thr person under who's name the services were registered. They said they cant do anything for the time being until xfinity fines me for mot returning their equipment.
What's my best approach here?

Just wanted to pop in to vent a frustration. I've noticed a ton of online courses revolving around investing and teaching financial literacy skills to women. They always start off with other women sharing how they turned their life around. They make you feel like they understand you and understand how scary financial growth can be - but as feminists they're willing to help! It always boils down the same;
"Why are we sharing this information with you?"
"Well, money is a powerful tool and women historically haven't been taught financial literacy. We want to change that to build an equitable future! We need to have equal influence in politics and maintain our human rights and financial influence is such an important tool. Now that we've wasted an hour of your time with basic information, buy our course for $4000."
Sure, you're free to sell a course but don't position yourselves as feminists and obfuscate the fact you're trying to sell someone something. It's disgusting and anti-feminist. You're literally taking advantage of a group you acknowledge has been under served for your own financial gain.
Sure, people should probably guess that courses or webinars are never free but when you say your motivation is to change the landscape of tomorrow united under feminism, people may give you the benefit of the doubt that you're willing to share for that mission and not for your own financial benefit. I have received my DS-2019, completed my DS-160 and have sent off my application via the USVisa webpage (MRV fee paid). I was "Pending Consular Authorization" and the message states that "based on the information you provided, you are not required to attend a consular interview at this time". As of now, the webpage says that I can send forward my documents to the consular via courier.
This has confused me because I expected to be able to book an appointment after this step; I filled the form to the best of my ability and information under J-1 Professional Exchange Visitor (student exchange visitor falls under this category). USVisa is not giving me the option of booking an appointment at this time, and under application details for Special Programs it appears I am on the "Student Interview Waiver" - should this be selected? Should I contact the USVisa authority?
I have been to the US before and not denied, but it was a tourist holiday and I was below the age of 14. I'm really worried I've made a large error during the application on the ais.usvisa-info.com website. I remember ticking a box because I thought I was eligible, but I cannot remember what it said or change it now.

2 years ago converted all offices from Cisco to fortinet for firewall, switches and wireless. Love having everything under one interface for management. Problem is the wireless and FortiAPs. Users randomly complaining about wireless drops, slow speed, poor handoff between APs.
Have worked with fortinet tac and have upgraded firmware, adjusted settings. Problem is each tech has different opinions on what settings to use. No combination of firmware/settings seems to be correct. A change may correct one issue but then either introduce a new issue or make a pre existing issue worse.
I am getting to the point where I want to throw in the towel on fortinet wireless and swap to another product line.
I know I am going to get lots of different answers. Which wireless vendor is best for simple Wi-Fi network deployments? Trying to get something where I can set it and forget it and stop getting complaints from users on a weekly basis.

Current setup is getting a little dated and favorite games are starting to run not as well as they are updated.

Ch. 1086 p1_2
The chapter starts with this color spread. Very colorful, very very clean. It's very readable. Every element, including water on the characters is easily understandable, the ground is beautiful and the puddles are even more beautiful. That's the good part.
I have three problems with the cover, though:

1. Mugiwara pirates again and again and again. We've had some similar color spreads in the past and it gets to a point where they feel repeated, even if they aren't. I'm convinced most readers would prefer more different characters making it to the color covers.
2. Franky's hairstyle. Because Franky wasn't horrible enough in last chapter's cover, Oda needed to find a new and even more silly hairstyle for Franky. I wonder if he's ever going to swallow his pride and go back to draw Franky either with his original hairstyle or the shaved style with which he came back after the time skip. Every single other hairstyle has been ridiculous and has only served to ridicule Franky.
3. The perspective is completely messed up. The flowers in the top right part of the cover show peprfectly where the vanishing point is (in the middle of the image very close to the top). The vanishing point is the point where the camera is "looking" to, even if Oda likes to put it outside the image sometimes for artistic reasons. The thing is, every character on the ground (not Luffy), and most notably Nami, is drawn with very short legs as though Oda was trying to do a very high angle shot. And that doesn't make any sense accounting for the perspective of the background, but also because he's really only shortened their legs and not the rest of their body and it's very very weird. Look at Nami's legs and the umbrella. The umbrella isn't distorted but the legs are. That defeats the purpose of distorting the legs and it simply feels like she's a dwarf now.

In any case, the work on the reflections of every character in the puddles are awesome.
Ch. 1086 p3
Last chapter ended with Wapol escaping from Pangaea castle with Vivi (and Kinderella?), and this one begins and they have already successfully left Mariejoise. Igaram, Pell and Chaka are searching for king Cobra and Vivi.
It isn't clear at all when is this happening:

• The same day as last chapter but later? Probably too soon since last chapter meetings were still held.
• Next day? Or the following?
• Many days since last chapter? Very unlikely that those three are still wandering at Mariejoise completely clueless. But later events will suggest this to be the case.

I find it very strange, regardless of time, that Igaram, Pell & Chaka haven't been dealt with by the nobles. It's not like they're hiding precisely. The way I see it, there are only 2 ways to proceed with them:

1. Tell them "the king is here, please come" and kill them.
2. Tell them about Cobra's death and frame Sabo as soon as possible in ortder to avoid suspicion.

If they aren't killed, and the nobles are not answering to their questions about the king either, anyone would connect the dots and imagine Cobra was murdered by the nobles.
Also, it's good that Igaram cares for Vivi, but what about caring a chapter or two earlier? What was more important for Igaram than protecting Vivi? What was he actually doing??
In fact, why was Vivi waiting for a Gondola to leave the Red Line when his father was just getting to a meeting with the Gorōsei??
Ch. 1086 p4
Wapol and Vivi are hiding in the Aegis' kingdom ship and arrange a way to go with Morgans. Good. That takes partial care of explaining how they ended up with Morgans. But the real question is how did left the Red Line? Did really no one go looking for them? It's ridiculous.
First the Revolutionaries show how anyone can infiltrate at Mariejoise and now multiple people show how anyone can escape as well. The humiliation is scandalous.
Wapol doesn't want to tell Vivi about Imu or his dead father because he's sure CP0 are trying to kill him. That doesn't make sense. If you're sure they're going to kill you you don't act in your future assassin's favor. If anything, trying to get as much attention as possible from the world is the way to go. It might fail, but there's a chance the attention could make Imu want to discredit Wapol rather than kill him and fuel the conspiracy theorists.
Ch. 1086 p5
With the recent announcement about Oda having eye surgery and him saying he couldn't see properly, it would be reasonable to consider how that could have affected his ability to draw.
Let me tell you the truth about two things:

1. People with astigmatism don't become functionally blind until they have surgery correct their vision. They wear glasses and that's the end of it. Surgery will make Oda not need glasses, but that's all. The astigmatism wasn't preventing him from drawing at all.
2. Look at the cover again. Oda can draw really well when he wants. Look now at this page. It's difficult to know whether it's king Stelly in the first panel or not because he's as much of a scribble as Sabo's picture, that might be a legit scribble.

Spandam, Gismonda ans some other agents are lookinig for Vivi and Sabo, but not the former CP9 members, who had Vivi in their custody and lost her. Also, where's Rob Lucci and what's he doing? Is he completely ignoring his duty as well?
Ch. 956 p9
So... Stelly was staring so hard at Vivi's poster that he didn't see Sabo's poster and couldn't listen to anything regarding the terrorist attack lead by his brother despite the whole Mariejoise was being searched for him. Interesting.
Ch. 1086 p6
The gorōsei pick up the ringing den den mushi. This is the only relevant thing happening in this whole page.
The narrator puts emphasis on Cobra's death and Vivi's disappearance but not on the clash between the Revolutionaries and the admirals. Why is that? It's to bolster the retcon'd timeline.
Ch. 925 p9 & 10_11
Remember that back in chapter 925, the highlight about the Reverie was the clash between the Revolutionary Army and the admirals. And it was said to happen during the 4th day of the Reverie. However, in this and the immediately previous chapters, events are happening during the 7th day (the last).
Another detail is that then the silhouettes indicated that the news included Sabo fighting the admirals, but during this recent flashback, Sabo didn't even met them.
Ch.. 956 p4
Then, in ch. 956 Garp explains that the incident with Cobra happens after the Reverie ended. That clearly separates the operation of the Revolutionary army (4th day) and Cobra's death (+7th day).
At the same time, Garp says that happened after they left, and that it was reported to him even later. And asks Neptune and his family not to fear humans because of it.
This and Shirahoshi's reaction make sense only if they had no better reasons to fear humans, like Shirahoshi being assaulted a second time by Charloss, and if Shirahoshi bid farewell to Vivi while everything was fine and now she's surprised to hear that.
But that's not what the recent flashback tells us.
Ch. 1086 p7
Contrary to last page, this one has mane things to consider.
Imu wants to "test" the "Mother Flame", a Vegapunk's invention, and the Saturn says they haven't had the chance to try it yet. Another gorōsei suggests a forest for the test but Imu wants "Lulucia" kingdom. The gorōsei show concern for the choice but at no point they question it.
We will see in the next page that they're talking about the weapon that destroyed Lulucia kingdom. And the first thing that calls for my attention is that the gorōsei look like complete amateurs here.
They've had a mass destruction weapon for "some" time, but haven't tested it yet. Can you imagine how many things could go wrong when trying new technology for the very first time? But don't be fooled, Imu doesn't want to "test" it. She wants to use it.
The gorōsei have been waiting with such a weapon in their power without testing it because...?? It's obvious that there must be a lot of places in the world were Imu, the gorōsei and the World Government in general should be perfectly fine with testing the Mother Flame, from certain uninhabited areas of the Red Line, to unaffiliated countries and from the top of my head, if anything else, Punk Hazard comes to mind. A government island they think is closed off because Akainu and Aokiji made it useless. It's the perfect place to test these kind of things. But they think they've had "no chance to try it yet". Sure.
In an attempt to defend Vegapunk from the undeniable increasing evidence of his evilness, I read some say the weapon is not "he Mother Flame" but "Uranus" and that the Mother Flame is only a power source.
That makes even less sense. First, because Imu clearly instructs to use the Mother Flame and not Uranus. And second because there's no way they can actually think they haven't had the chance to try a power source

Imu answers about the reason to choose Lulucia and the five gorōsei are formally introduced. And three things stand out to me:

1. They're named after planets of the solar system (other than the ones already used lol) and at the same time, they're not. There's Saturn and Mars, but there's also Ju Peter and V. Nasjūrō, who read like Jupiter and Venus + japanese traditional name ending. And lastly there's Valcury, who by elimination and obvious similarity should reference Mercury, but this one is clearly different. And I wonder if this is Oda wanting to name the gorōsei after planets and at the same time being obsessed with being unpredictable.
2. With this names two middle names are introduced: "Ju" and "V.". So far, only "D." has been a thing. It was odd enough if you think about it, but the fact that now two more exist and that they do so in order to not write the name exactly like the planet feels quite odd to me as well.
3. What is this "warrior god" thing? What does that even mean for them? I mean, I understand what "warrior god" means, but what's an "agriculture warrior god" or a "finance warrior god"??

Has Jupiter ever waged war in the name of agriculture or something like that? I get it, it's something meant to assign specific roles to each of them despite they have acted like a council for 1086 chapters, but wouldn't it make more sense to be "finance god" and "justice god" instead without the "warrior" part?
Also, do they really have any authority over their "department"? Last page showed they are nothing but the butlers of Imu. It's difficult to imagine they have agency.
To me, this looks like the upteenth attempt at hyping us for nothing. First, people living in Mariejoise were titled "World Nobles". Then they were rebranded as "Celestial Dragons". But at the end of the day, words are just that and so far, even the gorōsei have only prooved (this chapter too) to be very incompetent.

• Is V. Nasjūrō going to have problems because some countries are increasingly refusing to pay tribute? He's in charge of finances, right?
• Is Ju Peter going to be held responsible for the lack of food they're currently facing?
• Shouldn't Valcury have been the one to... Oh wait, we haven't gotten to that part, yet.

Imu says Lulucia has been chosen for proximity alone. So, officially, both the fact that Sabo had gone there and that the country had rebelled aren't the reason. I wonder whether Imu's answer is just a way of saying the gorōsei to not even ask for explanations and just obey or actually a whimsical and very plot convenient occurrence.
The gorōsei note the convenience of being able to use the Mother Flame "freely" and I'm sure they're not talking about authorization, because Imu rules the world, but about the cost. Certainly the Mother Flame must consume a lot of energy. If only they had some scientist trying to develop a troll-science self´-sustaining power source, right?
Well, they got one but they're very heeadstrong in killing him, for some reason.

We get to see the seraphim we hadn't yet seen. I don't think there's anything relevant in this page, but I've read some people arguing S-Croc could be a girl, you know, the old theory about Crocodile being originally a woman since Ivankov said he made Croc a huge favor, even though it could actually be anything else.
Personally I don't think S-Croc has particularly female traits in this image, but it's true that he has the same starry eyes as S-Snake, while S-Shark and S-Hawk do not (the others haven't shown their eyes). But if I had to guess, I'd put my money in Oda has decided to always have at least one gender-ambiguous character to troll the readers with left and right.

And this page is again, dedicated to justify the retcon'd timeline as though it was not.
Back in chapter 1060 (that's the beginning of this very arc, do you still remember what this is arc was about?), Sabo was at Lulucia when the annihilation happened.
Ch. 1060 p13, 14_15 & 16
We saw him as we were only seeing Lulucia and its citizens being shot by the Mother Flame and also the call ending abruptly immediately after the shot.
Now, Sabo says he was near, but not exactly there. And tries to explain the ending call saying it was an indirect call that was "rerouted" through another den den mushi on Lulucia.
First I wonder how do you do that from a ship? It's true that the specifics about how den den mushi are operated have never been told, but regardless, if this "rerouting" were a thing, surely it would have come in handy to many characters through the story before.
Also, since when can Marines (or any third party) locate den den mushi? They have been able to intercept communications and listen to them, but not guess where was any of the snails making the call. And even if they could, given he himself says it was not an encrypted den den mushi, hence being vulnerable to interception, why wouldn't they locate the original signal from Sabo just like the one at Lulucia?

I don't remember Lulucia's name being romanized before, but it can be read in the ship's sail. It's written with a C (until another assistant thinks otherwise at least).
Sabo rules out living thing and natural disaster as the cause for Lulucia's annihilation and Ivankov pretty much implies Imu is someone from the void century who has lived this long because she's immortal thanks to the Ope Ope no mi.
Regarding Sabo's claim, I think we've seen all sorts of surreal things in One Piece to agree his assumption is very bold. A shadow in the sky is no indicator of no living thing or natural disaster. In fact we've seen shadows in the sky caused no more and no less by living beings and natural phenomena.

On his part, Ivankov's assumption is also quite bold. Does a name really reference one single instance of a living being? There can only have ever been one Imu? What about one Oars?
There's also plenty of people known for their outstanding longevity like Kureha. (Interesting that this made me think of her...)
It's true that Ivankov accounts for the name being not truly a reason next page, but the fact that he implies it with this force under an argument he knows is very weak... This is just Oda telling us "this is this way because a character is saying it" or trolling us for fun.

Also, as I said last chapter, anyone can know of Imu and it was completely unreasonable of Imu not to tell Cobra about her, considering they were going to kill him no matter what and she said she was going to address his questions.
Could anyone else than Imu from 800 years ago be the one commanding the gorōsei? Why not? What kind of reasoning is that?
Next Ivankov makes his best guess of the day and claims Vegapunk must have created the Mother Flame (confirmed some pages ago by Imu). And it's now of all assumptions that Dragon intervenes to stop jumping to conclusions. Really??
"Vegapunk would never intentionally design a dedicated killing machine". What kind of joke is this?

For the final page of the chapter (yes, 15 pages only again, 2 of them cover), a new character makes his debut by sentencing to death Saint Donquixote Mjosgard.
He's named Saint Figarland Garling and is said to have been king of God Valley. Unlike everyone else, apparently, I'm not going to theorize about his relationship with Shanks, I want to talk to you about two other characters.
First, Dr. Kureha.

She looks just like she was Garling's twin sister. It's interesting, because a couple of pages back the matter of longevity was brought up and now we see a world noble said to have been king of a land outside Mariejoise and outside the Red Line. As we've been told in a number of occasions (last one being last chapter), only the Nefertari family were founders of the World Government who stayed at their homeland. This means if Garling was actually king of God Valley and not just a descendant of the last king, he's from the void century. Not as an hypothesis like with Imu, but confirmed. Thus, the simmilarities with Dr. Kureha aren't just physical. Both have incredible longevity and I think it was worth noting.
Last, I want to talk about Garling's predecessor: Crescent moon Gally.

He's the villain in the first version of the Romance Dawn oneshot that would later become One Piece. As you can see, The crescent moon motive in the hair is there just like with Garling (and the nose too). If you take the crescent moon out of the hat and apply it to the hair together with the beard, and change the mustache stretching to the sides for more hair to make it more exaggerated, you get Garling. Even the pose and facial expression is pretty much the one in this image.
Also, in his original name written in japanese, there's no indication of whether his name is "GaRling" or just "Galling".
And that would be... Oh! I almost forgot! Yeah... given Garling sentenced Mjosgard, where does this leave Saint Topman Valcury? Wasn't he the "Justice warrior god"? Why isn't he the one handing out justice? What other affairs regarding justice does he manage if not judging disputes among celestial dragons?
