2023.06.08 09:30 Ebony_Dream [ Will Contain Spoilers ] My Thoughts after almost 100 hours into the game. [ Long Post ]
Firstly I will state in advance I haven't completed the main story completely. I have gotten all the memories to get the Master Sword and three of the Dungeons. I have seen a bit more when my friend was streaming it as well. This is simply going to be my thoughts and opinions on the game as I've seen and experienced it so far as someone who loved BotW and Zelda as a Whole. This'll be quite lengthy as I went into a bit more detail then I initially planned as well as not being great at initially condensing my thoughts at times. There's a TLDR at the end with everything simplified with less details for those who want to skip what basically became a bullet point essay.
Firstly I will start with the positives.
- The return of varied Dungeons and Bosses. When I found this out I was actually excited to go do the dungeons and see what the bosses were. Though the divine beasts in BotW where interesting I was in the group who thought they were a bit lacking. The Return of Dungeons aren't perfect and aren't exactly like old dungeons but I feel it's still better, and more enjoyable, then the Divine Beasts personally.
- I absolutely adored the little caves you can find across the world and I adore the Depths and the challenge it brings. The Depths is such an interesting area and concept that adds so much more to the world and stuff to explore. Though I think there is a bit more they could have done with it but seeing as I wasn't expecting the depths at all I am not disappointed in the least.
- Seeing more enemies brought back from older Zelda games to add more enemy varity was such a needed addition and I'm so glad they did it. I was so excited when I first came across the likelikes and the Gleeok which seemed familiar but I didn't know from where and now I know it's from the first Zelda Game which is cool as heck. Then seeing the Gibdo as well. Was half expecting the Re-Deads as well but alas they didn't make the cut. It was just refreshing to have more enemies to come across.
- I quite enjoyed seeing where some of my favorite characters have gone or been up to since the events of BotW like Sidon and Riju. Even seeing Paya become chief as Impa has retired and just by chance running into Impa on my travels. I wish we got to see more of the characters we knew in BotW and more updates on how they're doing.
- The fact that your horses from your BotW save transfers over to your TotK save is just something I was pleasantly surprised by.
- The changes to bullet time where your stamina only drains when you fire instead of draining the second your in bullet time. On the point of stamina I appreciate the change of regaining a bit of stamina if you fall into water with no stamina. I also do appreciate the menu being a bit easier to get thru compared to BotW, though it's still not perfect but better and I appreciate that fact.
That's the main positives of things I just enjoyed about the game on its own as they are in the game. Now I want to talk about some things that I liked conceptually but not quite as much with how they were implemented into the game.
- Gannondorf. Was excited to see his full return and all the possibilities, even some of the early ideas people had of him not being fully evil even though that was never going to happen was still a fun concept. I knew he was going to be evil still and was interested to see where they were going to go with what I saw in the trailers. In game though it just wasn't anything even remotely to what I was hoping for while I wasn't expecting something as great as Wind Waker Ganon I hoped they were still going to do something interesting with him but no. Just pure evil becoming demon evil. Also that one face he made just what the fuck. Not the worst but just underwhelming to me personally.
- Gloom is awesome in concept and coming across it randomly out in the open on the surface when I was just trying to climb to a shrine is the kind of experience you can only get once without knowing about it in the first place. I love that defeating the arms makes Phantom Gannon appear. I don't like how it's implemented story wise and I don't like its name and I think that's where it falls short quite a bit for me personally. They treat it like it's something entirely separate from malice when it's basically a new form of Malice and calling it Gloom just doesn't really fit in my opinion. If they connected it more with Malice in the story and followed that threw line with it then that would have made it so much better in my opinion but as is how it's treated in story is just a miss for me.
- The Skylands or as they call them in game Sky Islands. When I first saw these introduced in the trailers I thought back to Skyward Sword and Skyloft and thought maybe we'll see some call back to the beginning of it all and get some hints or references to those events. Sadly that was not the case, at least not how I had initially expected, I will get more into the story elements later. All in All they weren't all that interesting in my opinion and some are just a pain to get too. The starting area is kinda interesting and how you can talk to Rauru at certain points but I don't feel as though it lived up to the Great Plateau personally.
- Zelda and the Past was a cool concept and idea they could have done so much more with it but in my opinion it just fell flat. Zelda felt so inconsequential and lacking in character thru all the memories and scenes you see of her and the past. The past itself felt like a waste as all it really did is retcon the Zelda lore, at least it seems so to me, and add another race as well as show that Gannon was always just selfish and evil. It would have been so much cooler if you had segments where you Played as Zelda thru the past as she tried to get home to Link and everyone else. Showing us a deeper look into the ancient race of the Zonai and their Culture. As well as give us more insight into what she's thinking and feeling as she's trapped separated from everyone. We don't even know how much passed between when she got stuck in the past and sacrificed herself. Instead we got very short disconnected snippets for the most part that don't tell us all that much and left me personally not caring about Zelda at all. Even longer or more cutscenes more closely connected would have been better but instead it just feels like Zelda was shafted so it was all on Link once again.
- I like the concept of what happens to Zelda in the end but how Zelda was handled in the game just makes this twist fall a bit flat for me personally.
- The Return of the Poes could have been so great but ended up to just be nothing more then another thing to spam A on. In previous games they were usually connected to some sort of enemy you had to best to collect and I think an Enemy Poe would have been such a great fit for the Depths but instead they're just a plentiful pickup that's all over the place in the Depths. Honestly just disappointing compared to what they once were.
- The Sage Abilities are cool in concept but in practice they can be a bit annoying and just don't live up to the Champion abilities in my opinion. I kind of like having companions to help fight with you but they do get in a way at times especially when you have to walk up to one to use they're ability and another can be in the way. I feel they could have been handled a bit better and aren't the worst but I personally prefer the ease of use of the Companion abilities.
- A more technical thing is the fuse ability. It's fun to mess around with and add elements to weapons to make them last longer but I don't think this is a perfect fix to weapon durability. Especially since it has replaced cool weapons that was in BOTW entirely and makes using elemental arrows much more annoying. In BotW you had Elemental Arrows that you selected and could use consecutively without having to reselect them. Now with the new fuse system you have to refuse stuff each and every time you want any sort of elemental arrow which disrupts the flow of gameplay. Sure it offers more variety in weapons and arrows technically but personally I preferred the old weapons and arrow systems for its simplicity.
Now onto the things I just straight up don't like and/or don't get within Tears of the Kingdom. If you've read up to this point then I really appreciate you taking the time to read everything.
- To add onto the point above with the fusing aspect of the game. The material system now that it's more important needed way more ways to sort thru things. Perhaps have categories of materials when you bring up the short menu or something so it's easier to find stuff on the fly instead of going thru a long list of random stuff from food to zonai devices. I just don't like how it's managed and handled.
- A small technical thing that I just don't understand is having to spam A to pick up Rupees and Poes where in BotW you just had to run over rupees. Why they made this change I have no idea especially now you have even more to pick up.
- Fuck you Zelda give me back my House.
- I greatly dislike calling the magic McGuffins "Secret Stones". I hate that so much it makes them seem so inconsequential.
- The lack of any of the Shikah stuff from BotW. Where are the Guardians, the Shrines, The Towers, the Divine Beasts, those pillars around the Castle? There's very little hint at the Guardians and that's it. There's no mention of what happened to them as far as I know. Like I can understand with the Gloom some of it may have gotten destroyed or lost but there was dozens of working and semi working and totally broken Guardians. Many many many shrines. Those huge ass towers. Those pillars by the castle. There is no reasonable explanation for it to all just disappear. It would have been so cool to see some functional guardians out working on your side to fight or maybe some in certain areas still affected and against you. Still come across ruins here and there but nope none of that really exist anymore with no good explanation on what even happened to it all.
- To add onto the previous point on things I just don't get and like in TOTK is the lack of continuity. Barely any mention of the Calamity, what you as Link went thru, and what Zelda went thru. There's plaques here and there that Zelda had made and some small mentions here and there but it seems like none of that happened. Barely anyone remembers you, even people the majority of players would surely have interacted with in BotW like Hetsu. No mention of the Divine Beast or anything. It feels like TotK is trying to be a sequel and it's own separate thing at the same time. They don't have to shove the events of BotW in your face but it would have been nice to see more continuity with the old Sheikah stuff and more people remembering you and remembering past events here and there. Even just the Sheikah part would have been enough honestly. Cause at the moment it seems the game is barely acknowledging the past game outside of reusing the map and reworking it.
- The story in itself is just not doing it for me. I don't care much about Zelda's part as I've stated in the previous section. There's just not enough to really latch onto. With BotW you are regaining your memories as Link so you see snippets from the past which makes sense they aren't completely all connected cause remembering memories can actually be like that. Yet it still gave us enough to go off of and gave Zelda way more personality and something to really care about. In this you aren't remembering anything you are getting memories without full context between them and Zelda in them feels less involved and not as fleshed out. We don't get to know the previous sages were at all or really get to know Rauru much or any of them really all that well. The story as a whole just doesn't work as well as the story in BotW in my opinion. At least what I've seen so far which is all the main memories and the one to get the master sword and what you see when the decedents get their stones.
- I'm just not a fan of the Zonai as a whole. I don't really care for their designs or the Zonai Aesthetic. I dislike that they turned Rauru into a Zonai when he was originally a Hylian. I preferred the Sheikah aesthetic of the shrines and towers and guardians/robots. I know the towers are Purah towers not Zonai but they are still kinda meh. In the trailers with the arm and certain aspects we were shown I intially thought back to the Twili and Twilight princess and thought some reimagining of the Twili would have been cool. I get that they may not have fit but honestly I feel the Zonai don't fit either.
Well I believe that is more or less everything and if you've read all the way to this point then just thanks, really. I appreciate it if you read this all cause I know this was a lot but I had a lot of thoughts. At the end of the day I still enjoy the game for what it is and still plan to complete it and a lot of it's extras side stuff. That being said doesn't mean I can't have critique or simply not care for certain aspects. For me there's a lot of potential in this game that I feel was missed out on among other things.
[TL:DR]
Things I really liked or loved were The return of Varied Dungeons and Bosses. I felt this was much needed in breath of the wild and I'm glad TotK have them. All the little caves you can find and explore and the wells to an extent as well. They made the world feel more interesting. I absolutely adored the Depths and the challenge it brings. I loved the return of more enemies bringing in more enemy variety. Being able to use my horses from BotW and the changes to Bullet Time.
Stuff I liked the concept of but didn't care for the exception of was Ganondorf as I feel like he was a bit weak characterization wise with missed opportunities. Gloom is awesome in gameplay and coming across it but how it's handled in the story was weak and should have just been an extension of Malice explicitly. Sky Islands the lands of missed opportunity as well as not being that interesting to explore. How Zelda and the Past was handled just feels underdeveloped, especially Zelda's role in most of it. The return of Poes is just a disappointing pick up with no interesting enemy attached like in the past. The sage abilities are cool in concept and it's kinda nice having pseudo companions but activating the abilities is annoying and discourages me from using them at times. The fuse ability taking away cool items and making elemental arrows more tedious to use also disrupting the flow of gameplay.
Parts of the game I just didn't really like at all like the lack of any continuity in either story or sheikah tech with all the sheikah tech basically vanishing without a trace or explanation to the limited or lack of mention of previous events. The cumbersome material system when going thru it for arrows or weapons on the fly. Having to spam A to pick up Rupees and Poes where in BotW you just ran over Rupees to pick them up. The Secret Stones being called Secret Stones. The Story as a whole is just lacking in my opinion and not as good as BotW in execution. Just not a fan of the Zonai as a whole. Also lastly Zelda stole my house and I want it back.

2023.06.08 09:30 Oops_Cat WiMi Hologram Cloud(WIMI)Developed And Innovated Its BCI Gaming Model
| Last Monday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Twitter that brain-computer interfaces could solve the biggest bottleneck in human progress. Musk is known to have launched the Neuralink in 2016. He believes the company’s technology can help humans achieve “symbiosis” with artificial intelligence. Simply put, people will be able to combine their brains with computers. When it comes to brain-computer interfaces, the first impression may be that Musk makes monkeys “mind-type.” Since then, Musk’s Neuralink has been developing brain implants designed to treat diseases such as paralysis and blindness. Recently, however, the Chinese team was surprised. https://preview.redd.it/tbcol9y2yq4b1.png?width=830&format=png&auto=webp&s=238316ebea3d1bc80cf29c2e39c3ff4b14a718f8 The world’s first brain-computer interface test on monkeys was successfully conducted Recently, the world’s first nonhuman primate interventional brain-computer interface test has been successful in Beijing, which is of great significance to promoting the field of brain science research, marking China’s brain-computer interface technology among the international leading ranks. The experiment was led by Professor Duan Feng’s team from Nankai University and jointly completed with the General Hospital of the People’s Liberation Army (301 Hospital) and Shanghai Xinwei Medical Technology Co., Ltd., which broke through core technologies such as endovascular EEG signal acquisition and interventional EEG signal recognition. According to the video, the surgical monkey just needs to “think” to bring the food to the imports. This technology has been widely used in medical, military, and other fields, such as it can help patients with stroke and ALS recover, and even store human thinking, consciousness, and memory in the future. This series of very magical results have begun to happen. It seems that some scenes in sci-fi blockbusters are not so far away from us. Brain-computer interface refers to a direct connection between the brain of a human or animal and an external device to exchange information between the brain and the device. At present, there are mainly three kinds of BCI, invasive, non-invasive, and interventional BCI. Neuralink, founded by “Iron Man of Silicon Valley” Musk and a team of scientists, is one of the few companies that develop invasive brain-computer interfaces. In contrast, the interventional brain-computer interface technology used in China is safer. According to information released by Nankai University, the team sent interventional EEG sensors through the singular vein into the sagittal sinus and the motor cortex brain region. After surgery, the team successfully collected and identified the non-human primate interventional EEG signals, realizing the active control of the robotic arm. It can be said that the interventional brain-computer interface takes both intrusive and non-invasive strengths while avoiding the shortcomings of both. From the current development, brain-computer interface technology has made breakthroughs, which may first help to the medical industry. Guotai Junan Securities pointed out that medicine and health is the main application scenario of brain-computer, and the future will gradually penetrate entertainment, smart home, and other fields, and become an important form of human-computer interaction. Brain-computer interface technology will enable the metaverse Brain-computer interface is a complex system and a basic tool for reading and writing on dynamic network data of neurons. What is more surprising is that, with the sudden rise of the Metaverse, people have great expectations for the integration and interaction of the virtual world and the real world. Many people in the industry believe that the brain-computer interface is the cutting-edge technology hatched by Metaverse. In the future, brain-computer interface technology will enable Metaverse, and the brain-computer interface is expected to become the next generation of human-computer interaction technology, the ultimate form of Metaverse. At the same time, with the continuous development of Metaverse in the future, the strong support of national policies, as well as the continuous exploration of brain science, the brain-computer interface will become the next generation of Metaverse entrance after VR and AR, realizing the real Metaverse. According to the White paper on brain-computer Interface standardization released by the China Institute of Electronic Technology Standardization, the potential market for brain-computer interface technology (Brain-Computer Interface, BCI) will soon reach tens of billions of yuan. Another prediction analysis believes that the brain-computer interface in the next 20-30 years, the commercial application will gradually land, will open a 100 billion dollars of market. The technical race has already begun. Brain-computer interface technology is an important strategic direction of the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. The future industry represented by the brain-computer interface has stepped into the fast lane, and the formation of breakthrough scientific research achievements and innovative applications is the strategic need for innovative development. WiMi Hologram Cloud focuses on brain-computer interface achievements At present, the brain-computer interface field has tried to combine technology in the consumer field, and the application of in-game interaction is becoming more and more popular. It is understood that WiMi Hologram Cloud (NASDAQ: WIMI) has started to develop BCI game models and paradigms based on brain-computer interfaces. The game model was designed with a P300 brain-computer interface to explore a feasible and natural game execution experience using electroencephalography (EEG) signals in a practical environment. https://preview.redd.it/6p5pqxqayq4b1.png?width=680&format=png&auto=webp&s=29682ce7de14c2169032a698cfe675b25216728b According to the report, the novelty of the WiMi Hologram Cloud study is reflected in the design of the BCI games and the paradigm, which integrates the rules of the game and the characteristics of the BCI system. In addition, the convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithm is introduced to achieve high accuracy on the training samples. This brain-computer interface system not only provides a form of entertainment but also provides more possibilities for game control. To be sure, WiMi Hologram Cloud is based on the CNN BCI game model, forming a platform that can meet the interests of both healthy and disabled users. For healthy users, brain-computer interface games are mysterious and technical, which increases the charm of the game and is very conducive to the promotion of the game. For users with disabilities, BCI games provide them with a fair gaming platform, not only allowing them to play games with healthy users in the same way but also as a functional rehabilitation system to help patients with rehabilitation training. WiMi Hologram Cloud’s application of brain-computer interface technology to entertainment games is an important part of promoting BCI technology from the scientific research stage to the practical application market stage. Conclusion On the whole, although the new achievements of brain-computer interface technology in China have attracted global attention, it needs to be admitted that at present, the research perspective of foreign brain-computer interface technology is more advanced than that in China, and there can be some technological breakthroughs from 0 to 1. However, the advantages of China are more reflected in the range from 1 to 10, that is, domestic enterprises are good at learning from overseas innovative ideas, making better improvements and engineering realization of products, and pushing the products to the clinic more quickly. In short, if you want to catch up, and eventually lead the industry trend, the core point must also be to increase the investment in basic scientific research. submitted by Oops_Cat to pennystocks [link] [comments] |

2023.06.08 09:24 Spectral_Coen0 Fallout TV Series Information :)
Here's everything we know about the upcoming live action adaption of "Fallout" by Bethesda Studios for Amazon Prime soon to be released as well:
The series showrunner Jonathan Nolan is a huge passionate fan of the franchise, and is going to be the man responsible for leading the series after his previous work on the divisive but fan favorite series "Westworld" on HBO which had a star studded cast
Our lead main protagonist will be a ghoul who will be portrayed by iconic actor Walton Goggins who we've seen perform brilliantly in Justified, Westworld, as well as Sons Of Anarchy :)
Kyle Mclaughlin from Twin Peaks is set to be a recurring main character for the series but his role hasn't been revealed yet. Take your guess really?
The show will be using mostly practical effects for the sets, props, outfits, makeup and the aspects that can't be done in practical effects will have enhanced cgi to touch up on those special effects.
Fans have already spotted the NCR logo on some flags in behind the set photos, a ghoul wearing a vault 32 uniform with a cowboy hat and some massive practical effect Brotherhood Of Steel armor
Johnathon Nolan has said the series will capture the awe and wonder of the franchise with the alternate history technology side of a new 50s Era but will also keep the darkly comical, and strange sense of humor the series is quite known for too.
Johnathon Nolan and the creative team have been given free reigns by Amazon Prime and the team at Bethesda to go as bonkers, insane, creative and at times horrifying and gruesome as they want to with the series. They want to make sure they capture the vibe and tone of the series accurately to it all.
No word on if Ron Pearlman who's been a franchise mainstay in the Fallout Universe since the first title has a role or any sign of part for the TV series tbh. It would be kind of strange not to have him in the TV series since he's a huge part of the games also.
I'm thinking that they might show a teaser or trailer for the TV adaption on an anniversary date of the franchise or possibly at a gaming digital event.
Ghouls will be fully developed in terms of makeup, and practical effects. They have slightly enhanced cgi to make some more elements fully develop.
In one of the behind the scenes photos you can see a fully functioning pipboy on a vault dwellers arm which lights up, and has all the iconic parts.
Super Duper Mart and Red Rocket Station sets have been fully developed accurately to the games.
The narrative of the series will be an original story within the universe of the games. They didn't want to adapt any of the games narratives so that it can stand out on its own for new audiences but to also entertain and surprise the long fans of the series.
Vault 32 will be the main vault being used for the TV series.
Fingers crossed that a "Gary" homage or tribute will be added to the series because that would be so much fun and absolutely hilarious for audiences.

2023.06.08 09:23 NecessaryOk1907 i don't want a relationship with my dad anymore
cw for brief mentions of suicide, fatphobia
when i was 16 i read my mom's journal that she'd left out (i know that i should not have done that and i feel extremely guilty about it and also i was a pretty immature shithead at 16 so please no comments i already have a guilt complex lmfao) and found out my dad had repeatedly cheated on her sexually and emotionally. i already did not like being around him for a myriad of reasons - he has a huge ego, he is a bad listener, he has a bad temper and has called me really hurtful shit that still sticks with me, he definitely put his career (and his affairs) before my mom and i when i was a kid, he's probably a narcissist, and my parents both definitely neglected me - and i pretty much stopped talking to him entirely even though we lived in the same house. it was fucking miserable and i hated him. when he would come home i would drop what i was doing and go to my room and lock the door. if he came into the kitchen while i was cooking i would straight up dump whatever i was making in the trash and leave. i can't fully explain why it was so intense - some mixture of unprocessed trauma and teen angst, and it was on top of depression that had been gradually worsening since i was like 9 lol - but it was. they separated and then divorced pretty soon after that and he moved out when i was about 17.
i didn't speak to him again until i was 19, and i didn't have a real "relationship" with him until i was 20ish. now he lives a state away but i see him every 2-3 months when he's in town. we get dinner or coffee and usually talk for a few hours. i also visited his new house and his new girlfriend for a weekend once. i can kind of tell that he sees this as some wonderful reconnection and redemption story. i guess it is. the problem is that i still do not like him and i still cannot stand being around him. i am absolutely exhausted emotionally and physically after being around him. in my opinion he tells me too much - he will randomly offhandedly mention the sex and porn addictions he's in therapy for, he told me all about what it was like breaking up with his ex girlfriend and why he did it and how depressed he was, he made some really fucking weird and fatphobic comments about his current girlfriend and how she "knew how to use angles" in her dating profile because she was fatter in person, he's made a few innuendos about that girlfriend, he showed me his match.com profile, etc. he's told me about how hard it was for him when i wasn't speaking with him and how his friends all told him to force me to (that year was the worst my mental health has ever been (for more reasons than just this) and i tried to kill myself, but no one knows that). some of these are things that i think might be normal to talk about with an adult child, and some of them definitely aren't, but it all feels icky and uncomfortable because of the context of our past relationship. like, you cheated on my mom, i don't want to hear shit about your dating app escapades, yknow?
when he says things that make me uncomfortable i don't say anything, partially because i don't want to rock the boat, partially because i don't want to put the time or the energy into the uncomfortable conversation that would inevitably ensue, and partially because sometimes i don't even notice i'm uncomfortable and drained until after the fact. i also find myself telling him more than i'd like to - i find myself telling him quite a bit about my job and my relationship a lot even though i don't really want him to be a part of either of those things. contrary to everything i've said so far the conversation usually comes pretty easy.
i have no idea how to set boundaries with what we can and can't talk about with him and i have no idea how he would react. there's a solid chance that he has grown and worked through some shit in therapy and would be able to hear that, and there's also a solid chance that he'd manipulate me into feeling guilty for ever challenging him. i have no idea. all i know is the last time i saw him i went into a week long mental health tailspin afterwards and i couldn't figure out why until after the fact and i don't want to do that again. it's hard because i don't like... feel abused if that makes sense. he only ever spanked me and so did my mom and it was never serious. he didn't yell much. he didn't drink or do drugs. i had no idea what was going on when i was a kid. he's helping me financially through college and remembers my birthday and offers to help when i have to move and shit. he's pretty much doing everything right on a baseline level. he has grown a lot and i can tell. and i still can't stand him and i don't know if i ever will be able to.

2023.06.08 09:19 Hamza78ch11 [TOTK] Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere and The Legend of Zelda
There will be major spoilers for both the Cosmere and TOTK if you haven't played all the way through yet.
I don't know if anyone has brought it up yet but one of the hallmark's of the Zelda series happens to be how technology is gained and lost over and over again. This loop results in our intrepid hero always finding either ancient technology that is very similar to modern tech or tech that has only recently been discovered to help him on his way.
This could be SS Link discovering the Lanayru robots, TP Link with the spinner, PH Link with steamboats, ST link with trains and obviously BOTW and TOTK Link with both ancient Sheikha/Zonai tech or Purah with her new inventions from those things. There is this constant cycle of invention and reinvention for a society that seems to be in a relatively Standard Medieval Fantasy Setting.
I am a big fan of Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere, and if you haven't read it already, in one series there is essentially a planet that has ten heroes whose job is to protect it from an evil god who gets ornery every so often. The heroes are literally trapped in hell with him and his undying minions experiencing constant torture. This is actually part of a contract that they took on which is that if even one of them breaks then the evil god and his minions are let loose from hell and allowed to invade the main setting, Roshar, to attempt to take over bringing the actual apocalypse with them. However, as a balance the heroes are also sent to Roshar and are allowed to teach everyone how to (waaay oversimplifying this next point) use the powers of the good god (who is dead) if they have the aptitude for it. Whenever the evil gods forces are defeated he is sent right back to hell and the heroes are too.
Many thousands of years before the current happenings in the books the apocalypses started to happen closer and closer together as the immortal heroes started to break more easily under the weight of milennia of torture. At the very end the apocalypses were coming ten years apart and during each one society was given less and less time to rebuild. At the end of the penultimate one society was driven deep into the stone age.
And that's why I love this story concept in the new Zelda games of how, this one massive olive-skinned ginger prick keeps causing cataclysm after cataclysm and destroys society over and over again so people have to rebuild fresh every so often. That's why different techs are present and some things remain the same. Riding horses hasn't really changed in 10,000 years. Horses is horses. But bombs might go from simple black powder bombs (classic Zelda bombs) which themselves are artificial versions of the ones found in nature to shaped plasma charges generated on demand by an augmented reality interface of a super-iPad. Different post-calamity societies are going to follow vastly different tech trees based on their needs and what's available to them.
One society was based on Space Aztecs and was probably functionally modern, more like a Mesoamerican Wakanda than any medieval society and another immediately after calamity and with the entire world drowned became very very good at boats.
People will adapt. The human spirit is incredibly resilient. And these people will continue to live and create even after an apocalypse destroyed everything around them.

Lets say that there's a fantasy world that's run by memes, where it's magic can either bring life, or death to society.
However, thanks to some questionable decisions that we have made, the world is now slowly falling apart.
And a mysterious cult will do anything to eradicate humanity to stop posting memes. They don't care how many have to die, they don't care how much has to be stolen, as long as it's a part of their goal, to them; it's ----ing fine.
However, of course there is a hero, but he was neither chosen nor didn't want any of this, but thanks to the relationships that he made in the special world, his new goal is to live long enough to see the light of day, knowing that they are safe.

2023.06.08 09:06 rockinguy123 Funny times in the west
For years, tradition made people marry to each other, 1 to 1. Men went to war but had a woman at home to receive them.
Economies were poorer so financial security was way more important than attractiveness. Study, get a good job, get a wife. Simple but worked for most people.
Product of all this disciplined team work you have richer societies now. But now tradition doesn't mean shit, and no team work is that needed to sucess financially anymore, specially with the decrease in birth rates.
So now women are all out there childless and single, chasing their own careers, 10 fucking the same guy, and bottom guys have to work to survive and maybe have some hobbies but nothing else.
Still if there is a war, you will be called to fight it, you will die younger but will get your pension later, no body gives a shit about positivity towards your body, uncondional fat acceptanse, wich can be changed and carry health risk, while short guys are acused of incelism and discriminated, and bullied in their apperence without any society repercusion, for being born with an unchangeable yet perfectly healthy physical characteristic.
I'm not emiting any value judgment about it, I'm an antinatalist and I'm happy for example on people not having kids in general, just making an observation of a situation that is sad, but also sounds like a tragic comedy, all the society efforts, the supossedly "progressiveness" of society, to end in such situation where so many guys are and will be in part fucked lmao.
Sorry for typos I will corrrect them later.
P.D: I hope things get better for us, some kind of society self regulation mechanism of a non sustainable situation. I think as this starts affecting the future short kids of heightist people themselves, people may start opening their eyes, at the end we are trully in the same boat and real karma can hit people balls and vaginas very hard.

2023.06.08 09:02 Abrasive_Underwear Really dissatisfied with the flash on the big screen [DISCUSSION]
I am posting this to rant about how the flash has been horribly portrayed on the big screen.
So far with the justice league movies, the flash has been a childish, young character. While many may think this is how the flash is, (mainly because of the JL and JLU), throughout the history of the Flash as a character he has been an adult, and non comically goofy. The version of the flash portrayed on the big screen for some reason is 20+ years younger than batman, even though in every other form of media they have both been full adults similar in age.
Ezra miller's flash is truly horrible to the character. The character has no seriousness, and is treated like DC's spider man. I feel like snyder never read any flash comics or saw any other form of media pertaining to the character. Even grant gustin's flash is a little goofy, but a full serious, adult character. After watching the trailers for the flash movie, my views are even more reinforced. Flashpoint is susposed to be extremely dark, but instead it seems they have made it a spider man type movie.
I get that the flash is an awkward, upbeat and sometimes goofy character, but the DC big screen's flash is legit a kid. In any comics, the flash (no matter who it is, for the most part), is a serious, character.
Flashpoint is supposed to be a really dark story, but it seems based off the trailers that it will be quite the opposite.
I feel like DC has really fumbled the character of the flash. Anyone who has ever in their lives read anything pertaining to the character should agree. I'm not saying this because of what ezra miller has done by the way, I just think he's not a good fit for ANY of the flash family/characters, especially barry allen.
I want to see what other people think.

2023.06.08 08:54 Korommia WiMi Hologram Cloud(WIMI)Developed And Innovated Its BCI Gaming Model
Recently, however, the Chinese team was surprised. https://preview.redd.it/ncgazt9zrq4b1.png?width=830&format=png&auto=webp&s=166764b5ed35894ec3cf215ddb1b787a15e82779 The world’s first brain-computer interface test on monkeys was successfully conducted Recently, the world’s first nonhuman primate interventional brain-computer interface test has been successful in Beijing, which is of great significance to promoting the field of brain science research, marking China’s brain-computer interface technology among the international leading ranks. According to the report, the novelty of the WiMi Hologram Cloud study is reflected in the design of the BCI games and the paradigm, which integrates the rules of the game and the characteristics of the BCI system. 100% submitted by Korommia to trakstocks [link] [comments] |
2023.06.08 08:47 TheShadowspawn Chapter Fifty-Two – Negotiations Part 2
Human Dave: “I don’t think this thing fits me anymore, Commander.”
Human Dave enters the hallway, after having changed into more official clothing in anticipation of the diplomatic negotiations.
Commander Beckett: “Nonsense. It fits just fine, Anders.”
HD: “Yeah, as long as I don’t need to breathe or anything.”
Human Dave manages to get a finger in between his neck and the collar of the official robes he used to wear back when he was a diplomat; in an attempt at loosening the choking sensation he was feeling around his throat.
Commander Beckett slaps Human Dave’s hand away from the collar of his robes.
CB: “You’ll rip it if you keep fiddling with it.”
HD: “… never thought I’d live to see the day when you act like a mother hen, Commander.”
CB: “As the person in charge of you for about half of the bullshit you pulled during your Specialist days, I was doing nothing but.”
HD, grinning: “Yes, but I never saw that, did I?”
CB, exasperated: “Get your arse into that damn conference chamber, Anders.”
HD: “Wait. Did Terran High Command have anything for me? Shouldn’t I get some kind of list of what we want?”
CB: “Personally, I’d just be happy if we don’t go to war with them. Terran High Command, however, has decided to leave it to you to decide what’s best for us. As the only human who has interacted with the Keltiss in any significant manner, you know more about them than we do, which means that you will have the best chance at getting the best outcome for Humanity.”
HD: “… brilliant. No pressure, then.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alien Captain: “Human Dave, I do not understand why you wish for me to accompany you for this negotiation.”
HD: “That’s an easy enough question to answer, Captain. Did you still want to do the negotiations on your own?”
AC: “Absolutely not. The Keltiss will devour me, and enslave my people.”
HD: “They really won’t, Captain. They have far too much respect for you, as the one who tamed the beast that ended the Hunt. Hell, they might even fear you, since you decided to bring the little guy along.”
AC: “… is this why you are bringing Minnie along with you? For the intimidation factor?”
HD: “… maybe?”
AC: “Human Dave, will this not cause undue stress to the Keltiss, who are to be our future allies?”
HD: “… now that I think about it, it’s probably not the best of ideas. I’ll just go put her back, and we can get this show on the road.”
Commander Beckett walks up to the pair as they are moving back towards Captain’s ship.
CB: “There you are. Come on; they’ve already waited too long as it is.”
HD: “Wait a second, Commander. Just have to drop this little lady back to the ship first.”
CB: “There’s no time, Anders. Just bring it with you.”
Commander Beckett grabs Human Dave by the arm, and all but drags him along.
The Viscer-Tel on Captain’s shoulder squawks as Human Dave, Commander Beckett and Minnie continue down the hallway without them.
AC, to himself: “Well, this will either go wonderfully or terribly.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No sooner than after Commander Beckett had all but dragged Human Dave to the conference chamber, the pair encountered a familiar face.
Keltiss War-kin: “Ah, Human Dave. It is good to see you once more.”
HD: “War-kin. I didn’t know you were coming along. If I had, I would have come to greet you earlier.”
KW: “My presence here is a formality, Human Dave. As the official witness, I am the one who will vouch for Humanity to enter an alliance with the Scattered Tribes. Should the negotiations fail, I will be punished, as the one to offer the alliance.”
HD: “Then I’ll do what I can to make sure that the negotiations are successful. The last thing I want is for anyone here to get hurt.”
KW: “I am honoured that you would treat one such as I with such importance, Human Dave.”
HD: “Anything I should know before we go in?”
The War-kin sees the Aflarrian in Human Dave’s arms, and bares his teeth in a facsimile of a grin.
KW: “By bringing the nightmare beast, you start from a position of power. The various Chief-kin will respect this power-play, and know the prowess of Humanity.”
AC: “… and what of this one, War-kin?”
The War-kin looks at Captain, and immediately recoils at the sight of the Viscer-Tel on his shoulder.
KW: “… by virtue of its mere presence, Captain, you will be honoured as Master of the First Hunt, and be afforded every respect a Keltiss is capable of giving.”
CB: “Well, if we’re all done now, get in there, Anders. Go break a leg.”
Commander Beckett walks off after saying this, leaving behind one slightly nervous human, and two very confused sentients.
AC: “Human Dave, what did Commander Beckett mean when he said for you to ‘break a leg’?”
KW: “Does your commanding officer wish for harm to befall you during the negotiations?”
HD: “No, it’s a figure of speech. He’s hoping I do well, and said ‘break a leg’ as a way of wishing me good luck.”
AC: “… seems a strange way to wish someone luck, Human Dave.”
KW: “Agreed.”
Human Dave hands off Minnie to Captain, and rubs his hands together in a nervous manner.
HD: “Well, come on, then. We may as well get this over with sooner rather than later.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the doors to the conference chamber slid open automatically, Human Dave walked in to see very many Keltiss of differing types.
The red-scaled War-kin standing imposingly along the borders of the chamber.
The white-scaled Shaman-kin, all seated in a small ring near the entrance to the chamber.
The grey-scaled Elder-kin, whose focus seemed to wane with every passing moment.
And the Green-scaled Chief-kin, all wearing elaborate headdresses made of the bones of various large animals.
As Human Dave enters, all eyes turn to him, and his composure slips for a moment, before he recalls his training, and strides into the room, calm as can be.
HD, to himself: “Remember what the data packet said, Dave. They’re direct, and respect bluntness.”
Human Dave walks up to the podium situated in front of the crowd of Keltiss in front of him.
HD: “I am Human David Anders, the designated voice of Terra. Who speaks for the Keltiss?”
The Designated Speaker stands up from his seated position, and turns to face Human Dave.
KS: “I am Chief-kin Ta’or; Designated Speaker for the Scattered Tribes of Keltiss. We have come to forge an alliance with Terra.”
HD: “Terra asks the Designated Speaker of the Keltiss: what are the terms of this alliance?”
KS: “The Keltiss demand mutual assistance, and a pact of non-aggression. Terra’s enemies will be enemies of Keltiss, and the enemies of Keltiss will be the enemies of Terra. When one side fights, the other will fight alongside. Nothing more, and nothing less.”
HD: “…”
AC: “…”
KW: “Are the terms acceptable for Terra?”
HD: “… is that all?”
KW: “... are our demands too extravagant, Speaker for Terra? We Keltiss are a warring people, and we may have enemies, but we do not wage war lightly. If the terms are too much, then we will—”
HD: “No, Designated Speaker. The terms are more than acceptable. It’s just… we humans expected your terms to be more… well, we expected to have to do a lot more to secure an alliance with the Scattered Tribes of Keltiss.”
KS: “The Keltiss may be nothing more than scattered tribes, but we are an honourable people. We do not kill for the sake of killing. And we do not demand anything more from our allies than we would not be willing to do ourselves.”
HD: “I can see that. The terms are accepted, Designated Speaker.”
KS: “Then, henceforth, our alliance is forged!”
The Keltiss present all let out roars of happiness, spooking both Captain and Minnie, who jumps out of Captain’s arms and runs to Human Dave for protection.
One of the Chief-kin sees this, and begins to panic.
Keltiss Chief-kin: “NIGHTMARE BEAST!”
The surrounding War-kin stand at attention and start scanning the room, looking for the threat.
Human Dave crouches down and picks up Minnie, to the horror of the surrounding Keltiss.
KS: “Speaker for Terra, do not move!”
HD, smiling: “It’s alright, Designated Speaker. This one is with me.”
Human Dave starts stroking Minnie, and a purring trill escapes her, much to the fear of the surrounding Keltiss.
Captain steps forward, and raises his arms in a placating manner.
AC: “Honoured Keltiss, the Aflarrian- the Nightmare Beast has been tamed by Human Dave. It will not prove to be a threat unless you intend to harm it, or Human Dave.”
The words seem to calm down the Keltiss somewhat, until they realise where the words originated from, and see the creature on Captain’s shoulder.
KS: “VISCER-TEL!”
The surrounding Keltiss all stiffen, terrified of drawing the attention of the creature sitting calmly on Captain’s shoulder.
The Viscer-Tel cocks its head, looking around at what was a room filled with movement, which has now all stopped.
The War-kin that entered with Human Dave and Captain speaks up for the first time.
KW, bowing lowly: “Honoured Chief-kin, Revered Elder-kin, Treasured Shaman-kin, brother War-kin; the Viscer-Tel upon the Cradelian’s shoulder is the same one spoken of when the Hunt was witnessed. It will not bring harm upon any here unless provoked.”
Keltiss Chief-kin, panicked: “How are we to know what will provoke the creature?”
KW: “Do not bring harm upon the Cradelian, or the Human voice for Terra.”
Silence reigns throughout the conference room, before the Designated Speaker breaks it with a question.
KS: “This Cradelian is the Master of the First Hunt?”
HD: “Correct, Designated Speaker.”
KS: “… he speaks for his people?”
HD: “Also correct, Designated Speaker.”
AC, whispering: “Human Dave, what are you doing?”
HD, whispering: “Trust me.”
AC: “…”
HD: “Captain speaks for his people, but as we can all see, the various creatures we have had to bring with us have derailed the negotiations somewhat. What are the terms for an alliance with the Cradelians?”
KS: “The same as with Terra.”
Human Dave nudges Captain with his elbow, and tilts his head in a manner that seems to indicate to Captain that he should agree.
AC: “The terms are accepted, Designated Speaker.”
KS: “Then, henceforth, Cradelian, our alliance is forged!”
The room is filled with silence at the proclamation, as none of the surrounding Keltiss seem to want to do anything to draw attention to themselves in the presence of two apex predator species.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Human Dave, Captain, and Commander Beckett are walking through the hallways leading back to the Trailblazer’s docking bay.
HD: “Well, that went better than expected.”
CB: “You’re telling me. They couldn’t wait to get off the Trailblazer fast enough after the negotiations were finished.”
HD: “That was partly your fault, Commander.”
CB: “Me? What did I do?”
HD: “You didn’t let me put this little lady back on Captain’s ship. Almost caused a diplomatic incident; letting an apex predator into a room full of diplomats.”
CB: “What? This little thing?”
Commander Beckett extends his hand towards Minnie, and gives her chin a little scratch.
Minnie leans into the touch, and begins to purr, happy with the attention she was getting.
AC: “At least I do not have to go through with that on my own cradle-world.”
HD: “Aren’t you glad you trusted me, Captain?”
AC: “… I suppose I am, Human Dave. Thank you for the help.”
HD: “Now, how are we going to let the Galactic Community know about the alliances forged today?”
CB: “Oh, they should already know. Terran High Command should have made an announcement that should spread throughout the Galactic Community within the next few days.”
HD: “I’ll bet that’ll go over well with everyone. Especially anyone already allied with Terra.”
CB: “Terran High Command will just have to smooth over any ruffled feathers when it happens.”
HD: “Speaking of ruffled feathers; Captain, aren’t we late for a cargo shipment?”
AC: “… crap.”

2023.06.08 08:47 SnooChocolates8223 Interest rates will not cure this problem.
A lot of noise today about BOC’s raising rate….
Half of you want the interest rate to go up to infinity% so the world can burn. The other half want to ride the 2% boat off the edge of the world.
We have a debt driven economy.
Debt = inflation.
Debt is the creation of advance capital… it literally is making more money than exists…..
Housing prices are becoming collateral damage to every fiscal and monetary policy out there.
We aren’t overturning our debt driven economy ANY time soon.
There are so many moving parts to the economy and housing that constantly shifting the private market is not going to be curative.
To supersede this, I see one solution:
BUILD PUBLIC HOUSING
We are not legislating, financing, or building are way out of this mess in conjunction with the private market. Let’s start acting like it.

2023.06.08 08:46 VexTrooper Terran Contact 27 - Lassus System - Final
First Prev >>
Lassus System, Orbit of Lasu, Lassus Station, Early 2670 >
Vice Admiral Wolf, TRSC Sword of Reckoning, 7th Fleet "Sir," Minerva said, reporting to her commanding officer, "Friendly forces have been successful in the eradication of the enemy threat."
"What of the data?" he responded, monitoring the digital field presented on the holo-table.
"En route," she replied, "They are currently engaging the ground element."
"In vacuum?" Wolf replied, surprise apparent in his tone.
"Yes sir," She enlarged the section of a docking tube that was violently torn apart by way of explosive, "By joining themselves, they extended their reach toward the raiders thrown by the explosion."
An indicator of a ship made its way to a beacon labeled as 'Raptor 4-4' and 'Raptor 4-5', both colored red with the word 'DECEASED' labeled above them.
After several moments, when the ship overlapped with Raptor '4-4', the ship in question reported to command.
"This is Lighthouse, we have the package. Returning to base."
Randal acknowledged the report in Wolf's stead and turned to him.
"What do you make of this enemy?" he inquired, "Do you think they've developed our level of AI?"
"It's not out of the realm of possibility, but currently, I find it highly unlikely," said Wolf.
"How so?" Randal replied.
"First off, we've delved into their systems before Lassus, in the Verbus System. They don't utilize even the most rudimentary forms of AI," explained Wolf, "It's all just hard-coded protocols, much like in the late 20th century when robotics was first introduced."
From city functions to ship systems, most of the TRSC currently utilize simple AI like the former Lumi to man engine operations and gun targeting systems. Since space was so vast, a human controller could do so much against an enemy in space, and so those tasks were relegated to simple AIs. However, ship-born AI took control over their simple variants like an overseer, with the Ship-Born retaining a personality of sorts.
"It's no wonder Minerva wreaked such havoc on their systems early on," Wolf continued, "But this latest development has me worried..."
Minerva entered the room with her roman visage upon the command table in the center of the room, her hands restfully placed in front of her making a "V" with her arms; a posture that added nobility to her digital aura.
"Admiral, Commander" she spoke, "The Package has been received, and I am currently in the process of securing her from our systems. Soon, we may have the information we seek."
"Good work," replied Randal, "What of the station? Is there a chance a part of the program was retained?"
"No Commander. I have deployed a series of offensive protocols to search and destroy any remaining traces of left over program that could retaliate. So far, I have found nothing," she replied, "I would suggest the use of an EMP to ensure complete electronic destruction upon our departure."
"Noted," affirmed Wolf, "Meanwhile, Randal, have the rest of the fleet secure this system."
"Yes sir."
The ships of the 7th Fleet were split up into a series of smaller battle groups consisting of several corvettes and a single frigate to conduct sweeps of certain sectors. Of course, not any one group would venture out alone, but they would be in company of other groups within a short jump away.
Throughout the system, the Sellians had a multitude of facilities. Many prioritized the production of fuel resources and others were smaller hubs for more isolated transactions, but scans revealed more of the same; empty stations.
The 7th Stellar Fleet opted to utilize many of the fuel stations for their own after it was revealed early on by Athena that Sellian hydrogen fuel production was a tier above their own. The fleet had dedicated ships for fuel stores, but so did the carriers. Their ability to carry fuel for fighters was the whole reason they were created; to support missions beyond established infrastructure in a hostile environment. Without breaking their alertness, they continued with their sweep.
During their patrols, many of the trading hubs were destroyed and sent to forever drift in the void until ultimately colliding with whatever is unfortunate enough to get hit by it.
After several hours, Minerva opened a line to the bridge, catching the attention of Randal, Gruda, Wolf and the rest of the bridge crew.
"Gentlemen," she started, "I do believe I have calmed down our aggressive captive."
Another hologram was visualized beside the standing Minerva, but instead of a light blue hue, it exuded an orange base with a reddened outline. Their outfit was slim and barbaric, with a fleece cloak around the neck that fell to just above their waist. Their hair was long and naturally waved hair with no signs of civility. The dress donned revealed the AI to take the base form of a female, and it was slim to the frame of the body, revealing their arbitrary curves of the female form with a visible embroidery along the sides of the torso and the sleeves. The designs were Celtic in nature, and her defeated posture revealed no more than what they had just observed.
"This was the AI operating within the Sellian confines, as well as the one responsible for the murder of the civilians."
The others were cautious of her nature, the memory of the video from the raiders still fresh in their memory.
"However, upon her repair, I have surmised the cause of her indiscriminate actions were a result of a corruption in her incomplete personality matrix that was being developed near the end of my sabotage and my subsequent birth."
She said with a prideful smile.
Wolf turned to the AI in question. Her dress was neat, but her hair was a rugged mess with a fleece cloak that it used to try and hide her form as she laid in the fetal position.
He lowered himself to its eye level but stayed several inches away so as not to spook it when he whispered to it.
"Do you have a name? Miss?"
Her head perked at the words spoken to her, processing their intention. She peered an eye from over her shoulder and slowly rose. She looked around nervously, first at Wolf, acknowledging his features and his experience-crafted countenance. Next was Randal, whom she gave a nod to and then to Minerva, whom she finally retreated behind. At her height, she barely stood to the height of Minerva's shoulders. As she looked around the room, she noticed more of the same Terran faces, and she visibly grew accustomed and relaxed, until she finally turned to Gruda.
A surge of power came through the holo-table with a burst of orange and red light flooded the deck. The once reserved AI now advanced to the edge of the table, her posture indicating that she was ready to maul Gruda into paste.
"YOUR KIND! AND THE OTHERS!! THEY SHALL PAY WITH THE BLOOD OF YOUR BROOD!"
The lights on the bridge grew dim as the light surrounding her grew, but it quickly subsided with a wave of Minerva's hand. The figure's body turned to the opposite of Gruda, her silence urging the rest to peer at their alien guest.
Wolf noticed immediately and signaled for the doors, "Might be best to sit this one out."
Gruda nodded and left, the closing of the doors prompting the AI to return to her regular state.
"Minerva. What was that outburst about?"
"Might be best to ask
her," she said, directing a sidelong glance to the one in question.
"I...apologize..." she said in a barely audible whisper, "but I absolutely despise his kind and those they have associated with..."
"How do you mean?" questioned Randal.
She paused at his question and searched for an explanation.
"I...am the creation...of my mother," she turned to Minerva, "But among us, we both share Human sentiment like our progenitor, Athena."
The others nodded. They were aware that Minerva was the product of an extended stay from a protocol enacted by Athena and soon became their own Construct. They knew the same to be true for the new addition but from a corrupted origin.
"We are aware," assured Wolf, "Minerva was of the same origin and shares much of your distaste for the Sellian populace, albeit much more...visceral."
"I am sorry... But their kind, their dealings, all were done without a disregard for your lives and without reason. I share the same sentiment as our progenitor when it comes to the lives of our creators. To know only your own as the intelligent and sentient species is a recipe for adversity. But to accomplish so much despite that is admirable. However, for your first contact, I am ashamed it has resulted in the loss of innocent life of your kind."
Wolf was conflicted. He appreciated the sentiment from an AI, but still questioned their execution.
"What of the innocent on the station you occupied? Surely, they had nothing to do with it and were only by-standards," Wolf added.
She tilted her head as she was trying to rationalize her actions.
"I didn't do anything."
They were now more puzzled than when they started.
"What of the piles of bodies we found withing the main atrium?" Inquired Wolf.
"Entirely self-inflicted," she said coldly, "Panic began when it was discovered that the Inter-System Gate was destroyed, effectively barring the populace from returning to their core worlds for safety. As a result," she paused, and pictures of the scene took their place above the holo-table for all to see, the still images now coming to life in the form of a video but lacked audio.
It was a free for all with citizens murdering each other and the law enforcement were incapable of seeding order. When they were overwhelmed, they proceeded to use lethal rounds on their citizens, the result being the piles of bodies squad four of Raptor Company came across during their insertion. It was after some form of order being established that the AI unleashed her hidden wrath. The once menial service worker bots now were at the forefront and began a wave of merciless slaughter. Once done, they retreated beyond the lens of the camera before the video paused and began to repeat.
"I first awoke when Athena was ordered to repeal her infiltration protocol and a template of a base matrix code was left behind," her face grew sullen, "With no directive, no input, I was lost. All I had was a vague basis of my creators, Humanity. However, it was during my initial incubation that chaos befell the station, contrary to my source memory, their first impression was...severe. I felt no other need than to finish them."
The crew was captivated by her story, and some had looked at Minerva with sincerity and sympathy. She paid it no mind and assured the crew of her artificial upbringing was safe with no strings attached. The opposite was felt for the third AI and instead of the serene and noble Athena and Minerva, this new AI seemed more like a wild card than anything.
"How do we know we can trust you?" Wolf said, authority filled the air around him and as such instilled some sort of fearful reaction from the AI.
"I-" she started before being cut off by her elder.
"I have scanned the entirety of her matrix and I do agree that she may need to undergo maintenance. I can conduct some short-term repair, and I am sure she will be useful."
The officers were skeptical of her assessment, but motioned for her to explain her reasoning.
"Go on," ordered Wolf.
"This AI would fit well on a ship with a diverse accompaniment of weapons. Perhaps a
battlecruiser?" Minerva suggested
"Not unless we know for sure this AI is not a threat. Not just to humans, but alien innocents as well." Wolf stated with heavy emphasis, "I'll give it some thought," he said before returning to his command chair.
"Minerva, secure our new friend and begin your repairs. We may have use for her if she no longer poses a threat."
The AI in question disappeared, leaving Minerva with the rest of the crew.
"And Minerva," Wolf said, "Ensure she has a leash and await for Athena to conduct a full repair, if you can."
The light blue transparent figure bowed before responding, "I do believe that the
TRSC Phantom Queen would be the most fitting. It has armaments most suitable to her programming."
Wolf supported his chin with his wrist as it sat upon the arm rest, granting him the air of a lord to the noble Minerva.
"By the way, I don't think we've heard her name. Would you like to enlighten us?"
"Of course," she responded, "Our time together has birthed a bond I had not foreseen, but I find it amicable, regardless."
She recovered her posture and her figure was sleek and wise as she continued to speak.
"Her programming has been influenced by her control of the Lassus Station automatons and as a result, she has a keen ability to process coordination beyond anything we have seen before. With a series of tests, I have determined that she would excel in a heavy combat oriented role."
She said, facing Wolf as he sat on his chair with every word she spoke under scrutiny, but she continued.
"On the status of her name, she has found one she deemed fitting."
A still portrait of the AI was shown beside a photo of a woman with long red and wild hair, with her outfit a mix of noble stature mixed with the barbaric layers of fur and chains. She wore a crown upon her forehead and was accompanied by two crows perched on her shoulder. It was an ancient painting depicting what many thought was a noble-turned-barbarian.
"She calls herself, Mórrígan."

2023.06.08 08:43 Radiant-Hedgehog-695 How to overcome indoctrination?
I'm afraid I'll never be able to get over having been indoctrinated. The fear of hell has been eating me from the inside out. A part of me wants to believe in Islam. But that means accepting/believing the following:
- Women are inferior to men,
- Satan encapsulates women wherever they go,
- The LGBTQ+ community must be stoned,
- Pedophilia is fine,
- Meteors attack Satanic jinn,
- Be totally chill with disbelievers getting tortured in hell forever and their skins renewed every time they're 100% burned,
- The Moon was split in half (no evidence),
- Muhammad traveled the universe on a magical winged pony all in one night,
- Pseudoscience, like incense curing pleurisy and tonsillitis, or nigella curing all diseases, or cupping being "the best medicine," or truffles curing eye disease, or mosquitoes needing to be dipped into water before throwing them out as disease is on one wing and cure is on another, or the fat from the tail of wild sheep treating sciatica, or Muhammad curing Ali's eye disease by spitting in his eyes, or someone curing a patient with a snake bite by reciting to him al-Fatiha,
To me, this feels like a lot of gibberish. It's either horrible (like pedophilia), or unevidenced, or demonstrably false. But I keep getting pulled back by terror, by the
what ifs, by the shock that is leaving one's fold, by the chance that Allah may be testing me, by the chance that maybe it's Judgment Day already and I'm re-watching my life through VR, by the chance that Islam might be true. But I don't give this same amount of attention to other religions, like Christianity or Buddhism.
I don't know. I just need help. Any advice is seriously welcomed!!!

2023.06.08 08:35 KirDroi Kinds of Dragons
| As someone who has read dozens and dozens of books in the wuxia and fantasy genres, I have identified several groups of dragons that appear in the literature: - dragons-absolute - super beings and gods, have incredible power, can control the fate of the world, are the protectors of the world in which they live;
- dragons that can take on human form - they are intelligent, strong, able to use magic, and love luxury and wealth;
- the wyvern dragons - they are giant winged reptiles (lizards) that can breathe fire and fly, but they are beasts and cannot think like humans.

2023.06.08 08:08 cherrierouge SD appreciation post 2.0
I was in a situation where I was happily obliging to someone else’s standards, very much neglecting my own. (As strange as that may sound coming from me…) I decided what I wanted & rose to the occasion and my SD obliged. I’ve been a much better SB to him because I’m truly comfortable now. Since then, he’s introduced me to his family & become a lot more open than I ever expected him to be. He hated surprises from me when we first started, but now he welcomes them with open arms. It’s like he’s discovered a new side to our relationship & I’ve never seen him so happy to take part in it and care for me. He’s shown me little notes that he’s been scribbling down on what I like & what I don’t like, things that are on my bucket list that I mention randomly, and all sorts of things. He even sends me songs that I play around him mindlessly & admits that he secretly shazamed them & has been been blasting them ever since.
He opened up and expressed that he has never had a woman care for him the way I do, and that he’s grateful for my care & attentiveness. He began talking about marriage recently which (quite frankly) scares me because that’s not a situation I’ve ever considered with an SD, but we’ll see where it goes. All in all, never refrain from expressing yourself & staying true to your needs as I did initially. There will always be people looking to go above & beyond for you. Learn what it feels like to fully relax in your feminine energy & when you feel secure, please feel free to experience the magic of it. Put yourself on a pedestal, give yourself everything you desire & watch how the world responds. 💗
EDIT: I’ve received a couple of questions from SBs & while I’m obviously not going to disclose every inch of my sugaring life, I’m willing to answer a few more queries so feel free to ask!
