FYI, this is a story COLLECTION. Lots of standalones technically. So, you can basically start to read at any chapter, no pre-read of the other chapters needed technically (other than maybe getting better descriptions of characters than: Adam Vir=human, Krill=antlike alien, Sunny=tall alien, Conn=telepathic alien). He was so hungry, lying on the floor of the cage, his hand dangling through the bars, he listened as his stomach left off a round of mournful gurgling.
The mournful gurgle turned into a low grumble and then a distinctive angry howl. His mouth was dry, and he did his best to wet his lips with his tongue.
He could only imagine what the others had been feeling when he first arrived.
No one had been feeding them, and here he was, lying around in a pathetic heap, though he was still watered and fed to some degree. Arguably the amount should have been sustainable if he hadn't been sharing with the other prisoners. He knew it would only cause more problems for all of them in the long run, but he couldn't bring himself to eat while others starved.
Below them on the Prodigum's open floor, Sunny lay curled up against one wall with a line of other prisoners. He had no doubt that she could have broken out by now, but she wouldn't, not as long as he was here at least.
Adam rolled onto his back to stare up at the ceiling of the cage. A plan had been forming in his head, though whether he could get a message to Sunny was a different matter. He mostly hoped that she would be smart enough to go along with it, or smart enough to go along with it and help with her own plan, if his plan failed.
What was his plan?
Well, that was an entirely different matter…
Honestly it was a pretty stupid plan, designed based on complete conjecture and hope on his part.
Not only that but it pretty much required that Sunny had the ability to read minds, which in itself was stupid, considering their only mind reader was most likely a couple million light years away.
He sighed.
"Ready to start again, commander?”
He closed his eyes against the voice and tried not to groan. He did not want to keep going with this, but he knew he had to.
He rolled onto his knees and looked over at the other cages, where the voice coach and the drummer were watching him. The two of them had been there longer than him and were much closer to the verge of death, though since his arrival they were at least getting something small to eat and drink.
"I'm ready."
His voice was hoarse, and He was forced to clear it.
At least his throat didn't hurt today, a fact that he owed all to the voice coach.
"Remember keep your posture straight, but not strained, breath all the way down and into the belly, don't rely on the chest. The posture of the mouth is the most important aspect of a good singing voice."
He leaned his head against the bars with a sigh.
This was not something he ever thought he would need to learn how to do, especially not in order to save his own life.
There were plenty of other things he had imagined needing to learn. On the floor below them, he watched as Sunny watched him, her sharp gold eyes curious as she watched the two of them working.
She would have no idea what his plan was, and he couldn't tell her. It was known that there were members of the serving staff who were loyal to the Prodigum, whether it be out of fear, Stockholm syndrome, or loyalty.
He idly wondered what the others were thinking.
He wondered what Sunny was thinking.
He wondered if tonight would be his last night alive.
If he would die he would make at least sure that it would be to save Sunny.

The clients began filtering into the room.
Slaves were brought forward for auction, most of them rather worthless, burned out from ears and years of use, but occasionally he would throw in a piece from his own stock knowing that the perceived value of one slave would drive up the price of another.
Lights began to flash and pulse around them at his behest.
He liked the flashing lights, they tended to confuse some of the other species, making them dumber and more likely to buy irrational purchases.
It was the same with the music, though speaking of which… where was his music?
In anger, he turned in his place, shuffling his great bulk over the floor with great halting movements of his arms and the shuffling of his back legs.
The little tentacles below his chin waved in the air, tasting it. He could taste the human, so it's not like the creature was out of his sight.
Ah there it was, in its cage as usual.
It was standing defiantly looking down at him. The ugly little creature glowered at him, its tight skin stretched over bone and lumpy muscle skeletal and strange with its flexible rubbery body.
He hated humans, though they were at least good for one thing.
…
Singing.
He wasn't entirely sure how they did, but he was more than jealous.
He really wished Prodigum could sing…
Though he was already working in one of the backrooms on a little project to help with that hinderance…
Of course, he didn't know this, but the Prodigum were more readily affected by human species than a lot of the others.
Where it targeted the Vrul's sense of pattern recognition and overloaded their brain, it directly impacted the emotional cortex of the Prodigum.
Singing to him was an addiction.
One that he had not yet admitted to himself or anyone else.
The human still stared at him its slimy white and green eye, blinking once or twice. He shivered in disgust, but slowly turned to look at the blue Drev. She would fetch a nice price if he were ever to sell her, and he hoped the human understood his intentions.
They were at least smart enough for that on most occasions.
He saw the human shoulders sink just a bit.
Then without further urging, it began to sing.
The Prodigum leaned back slightly, as the sound washed over him bringing with it a wave of melancholy and sadness.
It felt so good,
The fold of his face trembled with delight.
All around him the other clients stopped to look up at the human.
Was it just them or had its voice gotten better, more hypnotic?

Behind the Prodigums back Sunny flexed her hands.
She was ready for whatever Adam was planning, for she knew based on the looks and small gestures he had been giving her over the past few days that he was planning something.
However, the night went on, and although Adam's singing voice had markedly improved, she sensed nothing changing.
She shifted nervously in her cage, looking over to where the Prodigum sat on his back haunches, his large arms resting beside him, a glassy expression on his face, or at least as glassy as an expression could get when it looked like a pile of melted dough.
…
That was strange…
She glanced around at the others, aliens in various stages of debauchery, sort of lethargic and wobbly.
She glanced up at Adam…
He looked down at her, letting the last note of the song he was using fade off.
She nervously shifted as the aliens began to shift and move.
Then the quiet human in the far cage began tapping his hand against the bars. Adam cleared his throat. The female human began to hum softly.
How interesting…
The effect was almost immediate.
Adam took one deep breath and made eye contact with Sunny.
And then he opened up his voice, cutting through the fading clamor like a blade made of diamond–rising from the upper chest and throat in a way she didn't think him capable, quivering at the top as the others accompanied him.
His voice was full, but filled with pain as he poured in emotion like a damn, breaking to spill water into a canyon. The drummer beat out a soft rhythm behind him.
As he continued to sing the voice was so sad, so pained, that it almost made Sunny want to cry.
He gripped the bars with white knuckled hands, his face contorting with the words not bothering to mask whatever emotion he had dredged up to make a sound like that.
Beautiful and sad.
He dropped low into his chest his voice ringing powerfully over the walls before dropping into softness.
He leaned his head against the bars.
She had a tough time looking away.
What did someone have to be thinking about to make a sound like that?
The beat stopped behind him, leaving just his clear voice ringing out through the room.
She was forced to shake herself from her reverie.
When that song ended, the next one began his voice –quiet– filling the room as she slowly stepped back out of line of sight from the others.
No one was paying attention to her.
If she could just make it to the door, then maybe she would be able to find a way to get a signal out to the others.
Her movement almost notified someone, but at that moment Adam dropped his voice low, adding such a powerful hint of sadness in it that it nearly broke turning his voice to a soft rasp.
The creature could barely keep its feet.
Off to her side the Prodigum had practically melted onto the floor.
She had almost reached the door, and he brought his voice higher, the rasp still in it. It took everything she had to keep moving towards the door, and not to turn around, to be captured in the pain and sadness that he used to glue the others to their places.
Again, she couldn't help but wonder what kind of memories you had to dredge up to sing like that.
It was almost painful.
She had made it to the door.
She reached out to open it as the door opened and light spilled inward, he again reached upwards with his voice, cracking the barrier between him and the others. His voice began to splinter, but not unintentionally, actually quite on purpose, fracturing like ice.
She ran out into the hall.
She froze in place for a second, running face-first into another Prodigum.
It looked as if it was about to attack her, but when the voice washed over it, there was nothing it could do but follow the sound.
As the voice filtered out into the hallway, the same effect remained true. Others began following the sound in a dazed trance barely acknowledging her as they searched for the sad voice, so clear and powerful.

He leaned into it, eyes closed, trying to dredge up the emotion he needed. He needed to give Sunny time to work. He needed to keep their attention. But the more he thought about keeping his voice in place, the harder it was to hold.
So, he tried to ignore the need, instead allowing the emotion to roll into his body strong enough to make his face tingle and shivers to run down his face.
Tears sprung to his eyes, and he tried to hold that feeling allowing his voice to crack at just the right moments occasionally looking down at a slowly growing crowd absolutely entranced.
Behind him, the others were trying hard to keep up.
The door had opened long ago, but there were still forms trickling in.
How long would he have to hold this before someone noticed that Sunny was missing?
He tried tor as long as he could, he really did, but carrying that amount of emotion was difficult, and eventually it faded away. He still kept their rapt attention with his voice, but they were moving again, looking around at each other with confused expressions as if they were trying to figure out what had happened. The Prodigum lay almost passed out on the floor looking on in a strange mixture of confusion and contentment.
Like he was high as hell.
He had no idea how Sunny was going to do this worried that she had gone to her death.
Someone would notice her eventually, wouldn't they?
He wasn't sure how long he was going, hours or not, but eventually he lost the strength of his voice and the surrounding room went back to its normal routine using him as a simple background.
He had done all he could, now it was time to find out if Sunny had made it or not.*

”If it would be up to me, that bastard would be so fucking dead, like series bullshit, fucking laws! Why can’t we just off this motherfucking motherfucker!?”
The door hissed open, and the Prodigum turned his groggy head towards the light spilling across the floor.
He was surprised at that moment as a small shape scuttled into the room.
”And all this bullshit about I how I should stay logical, I don’t FUCKING care! I’m sick of this bullshit! The marines get to kill people all the time, but if I ask if I could bathe a goddamn Prodigum in acid and they say “nooo you can’t to that its unethical”… Fuck off!”
A Vrul?
But those didn't come here?
Number one they couldn't stand music, and number two, they were never involved in the slave market.
”Fuck off goddamn ethical laws, its not like they uphold them!”
The strange sight pulled him out of his trance enough to get up and scoot in that direction, to find out more about this uninvited guest.
It was a small creature, a brownish grey in color with large orange prismatic eyes.
He wondered how it was still walking, but then noticed the large noise-canceling headphones it wore.
”Really I am so fucking done! Fine have it as you want I will NOT kill him… there are other ways to give him what he deserves…”
It scuttled closer to him, pausing at his feet before looking up.
”Hey asshole!? Yes I am talking to you!”
That was strange, it didn't seem scared?
But the Vrul were always scared!?
"Are you the proprietor of this fine establishment?"
The Prodigum was totally baffled about what was going on and just answered truthfully.
"I am."
"Jolly good."
The creature said, reaching out with a hand and gently tossing something in his direction.
The Prodigum flinched for a moment as the tiny devices stuck to his arms legs and face.
"What is that?"
”What you deserve bitch!”
The little creature raised a hand and pressed something with a click.
His world erupted in pain, as lightning and electricity surged through him.
And then the world turned black.

Dr. Krill stood over him, hand still, still every now and then pressing the button as humans and Drev erupted into the room from all angles.
”I hate the fact that because of YOU Adam got captured AGAIN!”
He pressed the button again.
**”I hate the fact that because of you I had to captain a FUCKING human ship for two weeks, you hear me!? TWO WEEKS!!!”
Another button press, followed by more painful twitching from the Prodigum.
”But do you want to know what I hate most of all?”
He leaned down to the twitching Prodigum, holding down on the button.
"I…”
”HATE…”
”Fieldwork!"
He looked up from where he stood,
"You are ALL under arrest."
Another Prodigum hissed:
”You can’t just do that!”
”Oh, what I can’t do is surgically cut you a thousand times and then bathe you in salt, because SOMEONE apparently decided the Geneva convention should also apply to scumbags like you. But what I can do is arrest you fuckers! Just watch me!”
”Wait what was that first part?”
"Thank your gods I didn't have final jurisdiction."

(Link also above this text). I have no affiliations to the author; just thought I’d share some of the great stories you might enjoy a lot!
Obviously, I have Charlie’s permission to post this and for the people already knowing the stories, or starting to read them: If you follow the link and check out the story you will see some differences. I made some small (non-artistic) changes, mainly correcting writing mistakes, pronoun correction and some small additional info here and there of things which were not thought of/forgotten or even were added/changed in later stories (like the “USS->UNSC” prefix of Stabby, Chalar=/->Sunny etc). As well as some "biggemajor" changes in descriptions and info’s for the same stringency/continuity reason. That can be explained by the story collection being, well a story collection at the start with many standalone-stories just starring the same people, but later on it gets more to a stringent storyline with backstories and throwbacks. (For example Adam Vir has some HEAVY scars over his body, following his bones, which were not really talked about up till half the collection, where it says it covers his whole body and you find out via backflash that he had them the whole time and how he got them, they just weren't mentioned before. However, I would think a doctor would at least see these scars before that, especially since he gets analyzed, treated and goes shirtless/in T-shirts in some stories). So TLDR: Writing and some descriptions are slightly changed, with full OK from the author, since he himself did not bother to correct these things before.

Hi all.
I only joined Reddit a couple weeks ago after years of occasional lurking, and I posted this on a general sub, and got roasted to the point I had to delete the post to prevent going into negative post karma (I went from 90 post karma down to about 10 over a few hours).
At the risk of seeing a repetition of a barrage of abuse (I was called an idiot/ loser, and my replies got downvoted into being hidden), I re-post it here, just curious if the FIRE crowd has a different perspective.
For the record, I AM NOT doing what I'm doing to scrimp and penny-pinch. I genuinely enjoy my healthy packed lunches over unhealthy bought lunches that takes up 1/2 my lunch break while waiting in queue. I buy tech that suits my needs instead of paying extra for features I don't need. The things I enjoy in life most (running, walking, snap photography on my phone, family movie nights at home) happen to be free or cheap. As for heating in winter, I grew up in South Island of NZ without heating in winter, and my winter school uniform was shorts and I used to ride my bicycle to school through frosted grass, so I'm not about to start heating up the house for the mild Sydney winters. My kids aren't cold, and they keep taking layers off.
So here's the post. Fire away folks!
I am a 40M suburban dad in Sydney. Dual income, 2 children under 6.
I work in a professional capacity, and while I don't want to reveal my annual income, I'll drop a hint and say I paid over 100K in personal income tax last year (wife paid a bit less but not a lot less).
With that sort of income, many will say that just about everything is affordable to me. I am aware there is a cost of living crisis out there, and don't wish to come across as insensitive. However I would l like to share some of my tips on how to live on the cheap.
1) My groceries are cheap
I don't eat meat/fish/eggs/dairy. Yep, full plant based diet since early 2021, for my health/animals and the environment (I've heard all the arguments against veganism so let's not get into it here).
I live on beans/ rice/ vegetables/ fruit/ nuts and seeds. I go through two bags of the 'McKenzie's 12 blend soup mix' per week, at a cost of $4.60 per week. Brown rice I eat costs $19 for 5kg (I usually stock up when they are half price, at $9.50). I consume 200g of rice per day, which is about $2.66 per week when bought on special.
My other staples are steamed/sauteed broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, zucchinis, sweet corn, sweet potato, eggplant, kale, and fresh cherry tomatoes, red capsicum, cucumber, lettuce, as well as chia seeds, hemp seeds, roasted cashews and almonds. These aren't expensive items either.
I don't eat vegan sausages/burger patties or cheese. I eat a whole foods plant based diet.
My snacks are fruit. Usually apples, bananas, kiwifruit, grapes are staples, with occasional berries when they are cheap.
Also I don't buy any processed food. No potato crisps (they were $3-4 per bag when I stopped buying them, but I've recently seen them selling for $6.50 a bag), no biscuits, no chocolate, no lollies, no cakes or cookies or anything with refined sugar.
2) I don't buy lunch when I'm at work
I pack my own lunch the previous night, while I'm cooking dinner. Lunch is basically a 2/3 serving of the vegetables/beans/rice I had the night before. as I find bought lunches are unhealthy, and aren't substantial enough to fill me up. My packed lunch probably costs me $3-4 in ingredients.
I used to buy lunch every day, at a cost of $10-12 daily, which meant around $2500 per year on lunch alone. Now it probably costs around $840.
3) I don't drink alcohol
I went through a craft beewine/cheese/cured meat phase for about 10 years, but gave these up not long after I gave up eating meat or other animal products. I've spent 0 cents on these foods in the past 2 years.
When I was a regular drinker, beers at the pub used to be $7.50 for Tooheys/Resches/Carlton Draught and $9.50 for the likes of Balter, Pirate Life, Feral, but I believe they cost up to $12.50. No thanks.
4) I don't buy coffee or eat in cafes.
I went through a trendy cafe phase in my 20s and 30s, and thought nothing of paying $24 for a cafe breakfast and $4.50 for a large flat white. Now I make my own coffee at home. I buy green beans at a cost for $12 per kg and roast them myself (I bought a coffee roaster for $950 four years ago which has paid for itself many times over), and use 10g of coffee per cup, which works out to be 12 cents per cup. My soy milk costs $2 per litre, and I use around 150mL per cup of coffee, at a cost of 30c per cup. So my coffee costs around 42 cents to make.
I haven't eaten in a cafe for about 5 years now.
5) I almost never order in, or get takeaway
Not that there are many good plant based meal delivery/takeaway options out there anyway, and I find ordering in/takeaway meals to be expensive, unsatisfying, lacking in substance and not worth the cost. I avoid refined sugar and there is far too much in most takeaway meals for my liking. I eat them begrudgingly, occasionally (when my wife orders them).
The cost of a meal is the cost of material, labour, business insurance, electricity/gas, rent, advertising, accounting + the profits.
The cost of my own meals are the cost of the materials + gas/electricity. Huge difference.
I honestly enjoy my own meals more.
6) My fitness routine is free
I don't go to the gym. I do 100 pushups, 20 pull-ups, and 50 sit-ups every day (without fail). I also run a total of 15-20km weekly, and enter 2 marathons a year at a cost of around $100-140 per event. My running shoes cost me around $120-140 every 18-24 months.
7) My entertainment costs very little
I pay $120 per year for a Disney+ subscription, mainly for my children. It has more content than I could watch in my lifetime. We do a Family Movie Night once a week, usually Disney/Pixar animation films.
I also watch stuff on Youtube, and don't pay anything to skip ads or anything.
I have been to the cinema twice in the last 7 years, to see the latest James Bond and Top Gun 2. I stopped going to the movies regularly when the cost of a movie ticket hit $20, also around the time streaming services became available for $10 a month.
8) I don't use heating in winter or cooling in summer.
I am rugged in up 4 layers at the moment. I wear a thermal top, a knitted top, a polar fleece jacket and then an Oodie on top.
In summer I don't use the air con. It's singlets and shorts in summer, and when it gets too hot to sleep, it's a fan on timer to switch off after 1 hour, and it works every time.
I live in a townhouse and pay around $200 per quarter for electricity (for a family of 4). My next door neighbour pays $800 per quarter, as he heats/cools his home all the time.
9) I don't spend much money on clothes or shoes
My favourite clothing brand is yd, my socks are from Target and my shoes are $120 Adidas sneakers.
I have clothes and shoes for every weather and every occasion, and don't buy new clothes or shoes unless I'm replacing old ones to be thrown out.
10) I don't spend much money on the latest tech.
My hp laptop cost me $1200 in 2017. Still runs like new, and unlikely to need an upgrade for another 5 years. My phone is a Samsung S20 FE, which I bought 2.5 years ago for $750.
My Galaxy tablet cost me $280 earlier this year. I buy a new one every 5 years on average.
I can't fathom paying $3000 for a 14 inch Macbook, $1500 for an iPad, or $1400 for an iPhone.
My mobile plan is through a cheap provider at $25 per month.
So there you have it, the reasons why I believe I spend less than 90% of people while earning in the top 1%.
I'm not penny pinching or forcing myself to live like a pauper to save money while denying myself the pleasures I want. We go on overseas holidays 2-3 weeks every year, live in a nice spot in Sydney, own two luxury European cars, and own some pretty nice things.
My hobbies are reading, blogging, going out (which means exploring my favourite parts of Sydney, and taking snaps), posting on various internet forums, watching movies at home.
I grew up in a middle income household and being thrifty was instilled in me from a young age. When I was a student I lived liked a student, and when I started earning I didn't really change my spending habits.

And an obligatory mild-spoilers warning
I'm a diehard survival horror fan, but I never play many horror games. I've been watching the entire Alien franchise recently and Alien (1979) has stayed with me ever since. After finishing the films, I wanted more, and I remembered that I had bought this game a long time ago, when it was on sale for peanuts.
I have memories of when the game was first released, and people were sharing gameplay footage of the Xenomorph, and generally showing off the stealth mechanics. But this was all I knew about it. I knew SEGA published it, but I was very surprised to see that the developers at Creative Assembly created a completely different franchise, the Total War franchise. It appeared that this game was a one-off in this genre, and the team responsible left the company in future years.
My first impression was that I was stunned by the design of the Torrens. I also loved the film noise filter, although I did have to dial it down to about 60-70% for clarity in darker areas. The FOV at its default was extremely claustrophobic, and I learnt to leave it at 47 as while higher and wider FOV settings looked 'cool' and cinematic, I preferred limiting my vision in a game such as this. My general rule for survival horror games is for them to be as hard as possible. For this reason I chose the hardest difficulty, 'Hard'. It turns out that due to an oddly specific bug when connected to a PlayStation controller via DS3/DS4 Windows, 'Novice' and 'Nightmare' mode do not appear. I thought it was a mode I had to unlock by beating the game first.
Every level in the game is stunning. From the lighting, to the doors, to the vents, to the array of technology plastering the walls. This game felt like Alien, but not only that, it felt more 'Ridley Scott' than 'James Cameron'. The sound design is exceptional, and the music was delightful with it's reprisal of Jerry Goldsmith's original motifs.
My favorite visual aspect from the get-go, was the cumbersome technology used, such as the Motion Tracker, and the low-resolution analog displays. I later read an interview in which the developers describe how they played their CGI graphics through a VCR and BetaMax, and then filmed the CRT television screen - including all tape-warbles, and other such analog artifacts. Incredible. The hacking 'mini-games', if you will, were always delightful.
I don't wish to get too into detail with the combat and the characters, as these two aspects for me are never at the heart of a survival horror game - where as for other genres, they most certainly are. I found most of the voice cast to be exceptional, particularly Ripley, and the various characters in the Seegson computer terminals. I am not sure if I can judge the shooting and the general combat, as I barely utilized it. In fact, I ended up with maxed out utilities for the entire game.
This gets me on to the difficulty. I suppose I have the patience for survival horror, as I found that 'Hard' mode was simply too kind on item pick-ups. I wished I had fewer of everything, including health, so there was more tension in the game. I will absolutely be playing the game again in 'Nightmare' mode. Nevertheless, there are still moments in the game that royally nailed me. Particular areas in which there are four orange jumpsuit mega-synthetics, who I did not know how to kill successfully until it was far too late. There are also many routes towards the end of the game, in which multiple Xenomorphs are hunting you. As for the AI and the Xenomorph, I couldn't possible say more than what has presumably already been said.
The story was fairly light, as there is really no room for grand or complex, multi-weaving narrative in a game like this. Take the first four Resident Evil games, they all have roughly the same narrative arc in relation to gameplay story beats, or stages if you will. I wish I could keep on track of the stories developing in the Seegson computer terminals, but the same was so tense it was very difficult to relax, read, and digest a terminal log. The game took me 28 hours to play, which, might seem like a lot. But I crouch walked through almost the entirety of the game. Why? Because I thought the Xenomorph would hear me if I walked, as it is fairly brisk walking. Turns out I was wrong. Alas. But what it meant that it brought up tension to an absolute 11, and I also had a lot of time to just soak in the environments of each area. Also tension. Always more stress and tension. I again later read criticisms that the game was "too long", and simply "unforgiving". But honestly, the fact that it kept going on and on is what I enjoy so much about these games. It is certainly my cup of tea, and I am glad it took 28 hours, spread out over several weeks. Grueling, but utterly intoxicating.
Several other details that stuck with me, and that is every lever you pull, and every plane you remove with an ion torch. As the game. and others like it, is skeletal by nature, details like this help excite the player in doing what are otherwise ordinary tasks. Within the context of the gameplay, they can be nail-bitingly tense. The animations and sound design are also always exceptional across the board.
I'm not going to ask if there are "other games like this" because I already know the answer. I've been there before with Disco Elysium, with Darkwood, with Pathologic 2, and now Alien Isolation.

So, first off let me say that this is not a post meant to bash or resent the reality of today, just would like to get people's opinions and how they're dealing with today's world of dating. I've tried dating apps, talking to girls in public places and unfortunately my job doesn't allow for much interaction with women. I'm in my late 20's, just throwing it out there. It seems most women are really into validation. I believe any average looking woman and up has a bunch of options from social media and dating apps and kind of always wants to go higher and higher and see how far she can get. Again, not judging, just my thoughts. It seems that using these things to try to get girls is like going to the casino, the house almost always wins. I'm always working on myself to improve things that could objectively make me more attractive my physical health, mental health, passions, skills etc. but it feels like I'm never actually going to be worth an average looking girls' time and tbh I'd probably be solo for the rest of my life than with someone I'm not even attracted to physically. That's just my stance, please don't judge me for it just like I don't judge the girls and people that want to go as high as they can. Just wanted to get ya'lls thoughts on this, cheers

| I have an i7-7700k and an RX6600, 32 GB of RAM - I know I should be getting good enough performance in iRacing VR, and the sim runs smoothly at 90 Hz with 1.7x on the quest software (I've tried to keep a lot of settings low for now to get it how I want before I bump anything up). I've used the iRacing VR guides extensively, countless youtube videos etc. but the one thing I CANNOT get rid of is the "heat haze" effect that seems to exist on the fences/grass banks/horizon/the upcoming corner at the end of the straight. I'm using openXR and most guides I see seem to emphasize sharpness so I've got that at 100% with the resolution in openXR to 50%. I also saw a guide say that the sharpening clamp being too far can make the horizon jagged so I reduced that but no difference. I'm really not sure what is causing it. I'd be grateful if anyone can help - I can provide more info. as required but have also put in my .ini settings and my oculus debugger settings. Hey fellow redditors,
we present our latest Harvest Temple Challenge Mode class-stacking challenge. This time with
10 Warriors (just in time before they get reworked with the next patch) where we also made use of every single spec, including Core Warrior (only the Arms trait line was not used by any player)!
Similar to the Necromancer run, we also did not yet have a source for Alacrity on Warrior, so we just played without it. We still managed just fine and did not have any problems with dps overall thanks to the decent amount of power creep. Warrior in general has many tools to deal with the different mechanics in HT CM, but two of the most notable things were missing Invisibility and also lacking Protection. The latter was noticeable in some phases with high incoming damage.
The strategy with more details and some Trivia information about the wipes per phase for this run (and previous class-stacking runs in HT CM) are listed below.

Strategy We wanted to bring every specialization for this run, even a core Warrior. The best slot for the latter was the kite role, since it is only slightly inferior to Bladesworn as Heal Quickness Kiter and using core on a dps spot would cost more. Spellbreaker is the only Warrior spec with built-in Boonstrip, so it was a natural choice to use anyways. Initially we went with 2 Spellbreakers for more flexible Boonstrip, but on the evening where we killed it, we had only one available. Berserker got recently buffed and is doing really decent dps now and since we had one playing it, it was a no-brainer to include as well. All of the other slots were filled with everyone's favourite Speedrun-class since EoD launched: Bladesworn. The added mobility and range on Gunsaber made it better than the default SpellbreakeBerserker dps builds and since also so much damage is backed into Dragon Trigger (DT), it loses less dps if you can deal with mechanics during the cooldown of DT. A scary part in this run was the relatively little access to Stability and Protection, which can makes some phases spicy.
In Harvest Temple CM there are multiple important mechanics that have to be dealt with.
- Boonstripping the boss and adds is easy enough with Spellbreaker. Break Enchantments was used instead of Signet of Might for some flexible access to Boonstrip. Furthermore, Dagger F1 boonstrips as well and we also had our Bladesworn Kiter equipped with a Nullification Sigil.
- CC was also not an issue. Warrior in general has a lot of access to CC. Bladesworn on Gunsaber 3 and DT, Spellbreaker on Hammer, Berserker on some skills and Core Warrior on Mace. The only tight part for CC is the immediate AoE CC needed for the Champions phase, but we had more than enough fast AoE skills to make sure we don't rely completely on DT for the CC.
- Invisibility/Adds: Since Warrior has no possibility to Stealth (except playing Norn), we had to play without it. After all of the Stack runs we did so far, we gathered a lot of experience in how the Enemy behaviour works. The only really precise part are the Champions at the beginning of the final Soo-Won phase. There, the exact positioning is very important. If someone is standing too close to them, they might start casting their attacks instead of running up close. We stacked under the boss, CCd immediately once they were in melee range and thanks to the insane, front-loaded damage of Bladesworn, we killed them before they could unleash their strong attacks (most notably the Ice Field from the Goliath).
- Greens: One of the main HT CM mechanics are the Greens that need to be soaked by two people each. One of the Greens is being done by the typical kiters, in our case the Heal Quick Warrior and Bladesworn. Both have access to a lot of mobility, especially with Sword in the Mainhand, which made dealing with the involved movement of Greens (and Reds) relatively easy. The other far away Green was done by 2 dps Bladesworns. Nothing really special here, they just had to sacrifice their dps and run back and forth to deal with this mechanic. Similarly, Gunsaber 5 of course helps with the movement.
- Zhaitan Fear: We used Durability Runes on both Kiters in addition to the Tactics banner, which gives enough Resistance to cover the fear. Nevertheless we had enough Cleanses anyways to immediately cleanse all of the applied Conditions with Warhorn 5 and the trait "Shrug it Off". In order to fully prevent the incoming damage from fear, we used Defiant Stance on all Warriors (except for the Berserker). (This actually also prevents deaths if you fail the Green mechanic and was a nice safety net for other phases as well, it is just a pity that it no longer works for the spread mechanic; this was fixed some time ago and would have otherwise allowed us to ignore the spreading mechanic in other phases).
- Orb projectiles: This is one mechanic for which Warrior lacks tools. There are some options, like reflects on Blocks with a trait in Defense, or the Spellbreaker Elite, but nothing to take care of the projectiles permanently. Therefore, we had to play the phases simply without projectile blocks and only used the Spellbreaker bubble in some key moments to block projectiles.
- Champions Burst: We did not have Stealth, but if you stand close to the Edge in the center of the boss hitbox, both Champions run up close, if they are not attacked. This was what we needed to get a good burst window. The hardest part was actually getting the immediate CC done on both Champions. This was easier on the Necro stack, because of the insane CC of Reaper's Elite Shout. However, we still managed to do that and thanks to the awesome front-loaded Bladesworn damage, we also managed to kill the Goliath Champion before the Ice field was casted. This was the crucial point. After defeating the Champions in the burst, it was an immediate kill and in all of the Soo-Won2 wipes listed in the table below, we wiped everytime because of messed up Champions.
- Stability/Boons/Condis: Overall, Boon availability on Warrior is quite ... special. Most of the generic boons are easily covered, but Stability and Protection are on the lower end. Stability was less of an issue, since many mechanics can simply be outplayed instead of relying on Stability. Similarly for Prot, however especially in Orb 2 with the incoming damage from the Timecaster Add, it was very noticeable that we lack Prot (and good ranged heals). In general, the boon-output from Heal Warrior is actually quite amazing though. Might, Swiftness, Regen, Resistance, Fury and more is almost fully covered. Another small detail that was a tiny bit lacking was actually Vulnerabity, in cases where the Bladesworn rotations are in sync. We tried to let some Bladesworns do a fractal opener to spread the Vuln applications from Pistol 4 more out, but at the end of the day it was still not optimal.
Trivia The wipes per phases for the class-stack runs so far were as follows. Primordius is still the biggest Nemesis, but relatively speaking: Orb 2 and Soo-Won 2 (or specifically the Champions) were the hardest parts for this run.

Hey all, I've picking up stuff in preparation to learn to play in 10th. I've already built and painted a Vanguard Vet squad with dual lightning claws. I don't have a great grasp on how all the stats work yet, but would I be better off running them as Assault Squad as-is or should I drop a lightning claw and add a storm shield? The twin-claws on the Assault squad are 5/3+/4/-2/1 with twin-linked while the heirloom on the Vanguard Vets is 4/3+/5/-1/1 and gains a 4+ invuln with the shield.
I guess it boils down to, is +1 strength and a 4+ invuln on the Vanguard Vets better than +1 attack and +1 AP with twin-linked on the Assault Squad?
My gut reaction is also that Hammer of Wrath seems on the surface to be more useful than Vanguard Assault.

All inks are at the lowest 80% full, many are closer to 90 or 95, but I have no easy way of saying for sure the exact fullness of each bottle.
Below we have some smaller bottles, the herbins I would like to sell as a lot, there are two bottles of each ink pictured, but the Diamine inkvent bottles I will sell separately.
The "sample case" above holds 25 samples, and will include 25 samples of various fullness, it's made from some custom cut foam, Goulet stickers, and a shotgun shell case. The foam holds the samples securely in place when the lid is closed. Please consider the purchase to be primarily for the case and the samples included to be a fun bonus, as I do not want to list out what all is in there and check how full they are. It is not full of empty sample bottles though, each one will at least have one cartridge fill worth of ink. The Goulet stickers are vinyl so they are easily removable without leaving gunk behind if you desire.
Every single one of these pens will be condition [B] at the worst, most are closer to [A2], some of them have never been inked, but I do not remember which ones are uninked. All pens include converters, except for the Tasche Pocket Pen* which takes short international cartridges only.
Finally we have a Lamy Vista, this pen has been used with the pigmented Strigoi ink which is hard to find, but even harder to clean, so for that reason I am selling the pen and ink together only, it is basically impossible to clean this ink out of this pen. It is a great black ink but it needs a dedicated pen. This bundle includes the Vista with a M nib, a B nib, and the bottle of Strigoi ink. Because of the permenant-ness of this ink I suppose this pen is technically in [C] condition, but the pen itself is not particularly scratched up, just the feed is permanently pigmented.
If by any chance you want to buy everything on this list I will sell it in one big bundle for $275 including shipping.

The crew had become unorganized and hurried amidst the turmoil and confusion of the sudden storm. They raced to adjust their respective areas for certain disaster. Clark tripped on a stray rope laying across the deck of the ship. The deck, slick with rain and the crests of the waves. He pushes his way past the shark, practically strangled by his exhaustion. His lungs were screaming for breath. The more he swam towards the light the smaller it became. The beam had been huge. How is this possible??

It was then he realized, that it wasn't the light of any ship. No, it was much smaller.
The light came from his flashlight.
Clark wasn't swimming towards the surface at all, but rather towards the bottom.
Holding his flashlight, a muck-covered humanoid stood amongst the sea floor. As Clark opened his mouth, accepting his fate and the seawater into his lungs. The creature latched onto him. It tore into his neck, feasting like any other creature amongst the deep. Violently thrashing and tearing off pieces of his flesh. Clark struggled in insurmountable pain. He pushed and shoved, his hand brushed against his attacker's face. As Clark's hands found the face once again, he weakly scratched and clawed at it's face.

I figured with the subreddit going private soon I should get this down in writing. Its been a bit between rereads so I may have some details misremembered.
We see over and over that the galaxy at large doesn't consider Crawlers as people. I think there may be a reason for that. I believe that Crawlers are copies of the "real" version of people. We know that they keep versions of all the people killed in the apocalypse that are then used in the show. I think that Crawlers' "real" bodies are also kept separate off the planet and copies are what compete in the game.
This way people's bloodthirst makes sense to me. They think of Crawlers as AI figures who are only created for the game while the real person can be kept separate and treated like "normal" people or even rewarded for their counterpart's actions in the Crawl.
The Shows can have contrasting segments with the Crawler version of a person and the stored version who get to react to how they are changed by the game.

My nex has been apologizing for a month straight and saying a lot of the right things that are completely at odds with what he told me while we were still in a relationship.
For reference, we had months of arguing about stupid things. I then snapped out of it and realized I was wasting my breath and grey rocked for like 3 weeks to a month before he escalated and threw my shit I had with me, told me to get out of his car (he was dropping me off at work when this was happening) and told me to leave his place where I was living for the last 6 months ASAP.
So like I said, he’s just been saying and doing things differently the moment we broke up. For example we both had solid jobs and one time he told me if he made $250k he would still want me to work. But now he’s telling me I wouldn’t need to work and he will take care of me (even tho I don’t need this at all), it’s just an example of how he’s saying completely opposite things. He said something clicked in his head when I finally left him (literally took like three days for this click to happen) and he realizes how poorly he treated me and said that he knows he doesn’t even deserve another chance but he wants to do all the work to repair our relationship and to live a better life. Telling me a lot of the things he knows he did wrong and what he would do moving forward or what he should have done back then. Said he would go to therapy by himself and wants to go with me too (I know it’s advised not to do this, I’m not). It’s just interesting to me all the begging he’s doing when he emotionally and sexually treated me poorly. The only things he was good at was the financial aspect and helping in the household even tho he was kinda controlling here and there in both of those areas. Is this all normal behavior for a narc once they’ve been discarded?

This is really a vent more than anything but does anyone else feel just so much guilt that it’s hard to deal sometimes? My dog is a rescue and she was not reactive when I got her. She has been attacked twice by off leash dogs while on walks with me and I’m sure that has contributed, if not caused, her leash reactivity. While rationally I know that everyone says it’s not my fault but it’s so hard to not feel guilt. Like I didn’t protect her and I didn’t make her feel safe so now this reactivity has happened. I had one job! I guess I’m just wondering if anyone else feels this crippling guilt and how you manage to overcome that. Y’all are all so amazing - thank you!!

This would be heavily inspired by rimworld, and a little inspired by project zomboid. I really enjoy the story generator aspect of the game and wish I could apply similar gameplay to different scenarios. For example, a military squad behind enemy lines. Each character is randomly generated and you meet people along the way, like in rimworld. You can recruit civilians, or meet other lost soldiers. Thats not my idea here though, I want a game set in the zombie apocalypse. We'll call the "colonists" survivors
Scenarios
To start off, you have different scenarios, like in rimworld. Examples could include:
- A military squad. This would be the easier mode to learn the ropes of the game as you start off with good weapons and survivors with good combat skill
- A group of old pals who stuck together since the beginning of the apocalypse. Each survivor is average, this would be the default mode.
- School children who start off in a school. This would be difficult as the young age means they dont have well established skills, they would need more time to level up their traits.
- Lone survivor.
Obviously, there could be other scenarios. There would also be the ability to create custom scenarios.
Skills and Traits
The skill system would be very similar to rimworld. Each survivor would have some skills already but could improve each skill. There would be a passion system for some skills which would increase the rate at which they learn the skill. Skills could include
- Shooting:Determines their chance to hit shots against zombies or human enemies
- Melee: Determines their chances of winning hand to hand combat against humans or enemies
- Scavenging: Determines their luck at looting. I'll talk more about the looting system later
- Medical: Determines their success rate when treating injuries, both for themselves and other survivors
- Crafting: Determines their ability to craft weapons, tools, or any other useful items
- Construction: Determines their ability to construct stuff for when they set up camp, or even permanent base
- Social: Determines how well they get along with other survivors, and how good they are at recruiting.
- Intelligence: Determines how fast they learn skills.
The trait system would be similar to Project Zomboid or Rimworld. Unlike skills, traits dont change. They can affect skills, interactions with other survivors, mood buffs or debuffs, and more. Traits could include:
- Smart: Boosts their intelligence trait
- Cowardly: Increases their mental break threshold and lowers their melee and shooting
- Nice: Improves their relationship with other survivors and gives other survivors an opinion buff
Im gonna stop listing traits because there are too many possible ones to say. Think of any other trait from Rimworld or Project Zomboid
Gameplay
You have control over time and how fast and slow it goes. You have options in the game as to how you want to play. The game is open world
Nomadic: You usually start off nomadic and try to find a place good enough to settle. The survivors have assigned work priorities like in Rimworld. On the move, you can tell survivors where to move and explore. There have to be boundaries to stop them from getting too far from each other, but not so much as to restrict their freedom of movement to an annoying degree. You can set up camp when its night time. Find a safe place to do so to allow your survivors to sleep.

In big raids or hordes, there is a chance the survivors might need to flee the base. They will gather as much stuff as they can and the gameplay will switch to nomadic. This will give colonists a mood debuff, but they can survive it.
The choice is ultimately up to the player, what kind of story they want to create and what kind of game they want to play
Game settings
You can customise the settings however you'd like. Zombie settings would allow you to change what kind of zombies there are, their appearance, their traits. There would be presets such as TLOU zombies or TWD zombies, and players can build off of that. You can also adjust the difficulty.
Recurring characters
You will stumble upon a lot of different survivors, some of them will keep coming back. For example:
- A raider who got away may come back in another raid
- A survivor you exiled may come back with a vengeance.
- Someone you helped may return the favor
- You may stumble upon a zombified version of someone you already met
Leaders of factions may come to negotiate with you or plan an attack. You may stumble upon them and kidnap them, hold them hostage, whatever you want.
Factions
There will be different types of factions divided into two categories
FRIENDLY / Neutral: - A small group of nomadic survivors who you can trade with, interact with, or even take in if they see fit(depending on your relative power level)
- Big settlements you can trade with, interact with, team up with
- Small settlements you can trade with, interact with, team up with
They may turn on you depending on your actions
HOSTILE: - Raiders
- Tribute collectors, similar to the saviours from the walking dead
- A tribe that has regressed to primitive ways of living
You have a few options to deal with them. You can find their home base and take them out, for tribute collectors you can comply. You can team up with friendly factions to start a war. You could just move away and try your luck elsewhere
The factions will be settled in random places. Places could include apartment buildings(like in dying light), Hospitals(Like in twd) or schools(like in all of us are dead). Pretty much anywhere you can think of could be a possible base

Trip Meter display will not change over back to Fuel distance. I just filled up the vehicle and it will show 390- 400 before refill. All of a sudden it switched to Trip B after disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes it showed trip B. I pushed, turn on, held, turn off every button on the steering wheel. How do I fix this?

Today 4 years ago he died.
When I was a kid my mom was nowhere to be seen most of the time, she was high. My step father was abusive piece of sh!t in all sorts of ways but I don’t want to talk about it. The light of my life was my older brother Dylan (4 years older). He always protected me even if he got beaten to h*ll for it. He was always there for me, and basically raised me. It’s with him I felt so safe and warm. He made me smile. He made me feel loved and worthy of love. He was always there to help me and guide me and make me feel confident and comfortable. He always cheered me up when I was down. He was everything. I love him, I love him, I love him so much, I could write it a thousand times and it wouldn’t do it any justice. I love him. I really really really love him. And I wish he was still here.
I don’t want to tell too much of my background but long story short there was some legal ppl involved and so my mostly absent mom made it out that she was a victim of domestic violence (it was a whole freaking thing but it didn’t matter because Dylan was working with some attorney towards becoming my legal guardian after he turned 18 and we planned to move to America together)
Obviously she (mom) had no proof of assault the first time she made the claim so there was a case opened but my father was not arrested or anything. And he got super pissed.
I was 13.5 and Dylan was 17.5 at that time.
My father shot Dylan 2 times.
At the hospital they inserted a tube into his nose to try and suck the blood out of his stomach, and operated on him, but there was some problem of infection and they said he died peacefully but I know that’s bullshit. he died slowly as sh!t and suffered for so many freaking hours.
He did not deserve to die like that. HE DIDNT FUCKIN DESERVE TO DIE LIKE THAT. I want to scream and scream this until everybody knows. HE DID NOT FUCKIN DESERVE TO DIE LIKE THAT. He deserved to go out in real peace, not in pain. He deserved to finally live his life to the fullest. Visit Alaska and snowboard and join dance classes. And put makeup on because it made him feel pretty and confident. He deserved to have a girlfriend that loved him and adored him and a family. And he would have been the most amazing father ever, and I would have been the fun aunt to his kids.
And I… don’t I deserve to have him here with me? Don’t I deserve a little happiness as well after all that sh!t we went through?
After Dylan and father died Mom and I proceeded to move to America, at first we were at the crappiest apartment ever and honestly I was busy crying everyday to notice what the f was going on but then she found some widower surgeon (Thomas) to marry and we moved in his huge ass house.
Thomas was actually alright. But he wasn’t much at home. He had two kids, Mary (my age) and Jackson (1 year older). Mary and Jackson were nice as well. They introduced me to many ppl at school when I just came. But to be frank I was so incredibly jealous of Mary because she had Jackson and I didn’t have Dylan. Lmao I’m still jealous. And back then I used to in secret hate Mary’s guts and tried getting Jackson to fight her and hate her because I was being dumb. I hated her with burning passion when her only “crime” was that her brother was still alive. I grew out of it tho.
My mom died of overdose last year and so I am left with Thomas, Mary and Jackson. In the end he’s (Thomas) a pretty good dad even though he’s working long weird hours and Mary and Jackson are good too. Jackson is actually at college so it’s only Mary and me.
I’m a little over 17.5, which was the age Dylan was when he died.
I have good grades, good friends, I live in a really nice place. I got the newest phone and I got accepted into a really really good university for electrical engineering.
If I dare being sad I get shut down immediately by everyone. “Your dad is rich” “you’re hot/popular” “your grades are good” “you should be grateful for your life” “how could someone like you be sad?”
But honestly? I’d give it all away. Everything. Literally EVERYTHING If I could have Dylan back.
There’s isn’t one day I don’t think about him, I miss his hug, I miss his smile, I miss his voice, I miss his idiotic jokes and sad attempts to cheer me up. I miss him so much. I remember one time he tried on a skirt he bought secretly when our dad wasn’t home and I wish I could tell him again how much he rocked that skirt and how badass he looked. I still have that skirt btw. And you know everytime I see it in my closet I kind of pick it up and hug it and I smile but also it makes me so fkin sad. That’s one of the only things I have left of him. I don’t have any pictures of him at all, and It’s making me crazy. Sometimes I wonder if he actually existed or maybe my memories are false. Sometimes I want to scream until I pass out.
It’s like there’s this huge hole in my heart that nothing can fill. Actually not a hole, half my heart is missing. Literally. Nothing can help it. Not Thomas. Not Mary and Jackson. Not my friends. Not my boyfriend. This void will never be filled. It’s like I’ve been stuck in a nightmare for 4 years and I can’t wake up. I’ll never wake up. Dylan will never come back to me.
Even thinking of saying that he’s looking at me from the sky and I should make him proud and that he’d want me to live my life and be happy without him makes me sick. I just can’t cope with the fact that he’s gone. I can’t. Sometimes I have nightmares and right when I wake up I think about going to Dylan for a hug and then I remember that I’m alone. No matter how many friends or boyfriends or expensive cloths I have or anything. I’m always so freakin alone. I can be at a party surrounded by ppl and lights and I’ll still feel like everything is miles away and I just stand in the middle of nowhere in the darkness and I’m just waiting for someone.
In case anybody asks, I am going to a therapist, I’ve been going for a year because Thomas thought I’d be needing it after mom died.
It doesn’t matter how many hugs I get from my friends. And how many times I talk to them (they don’t know anything but they know my mom died). It will never bring Dylan back.
I’m sorry for this long ass rant, but truly off my chest, I’d give my new family, the house, the cloths, the friends and the grades and my place at that university if it means I could have my Dylan back.
It’s gonna be so lonely today. I will visit your grave and talk to the headstone until it’s dark and hope you are somewhere out there and you can hear me. I miss you, Dylan. And I don’t think it will ever get easier living here without you.

2023.06.10 23:36 mchlmddn Can I get some advice about my partner wanting to split and take some time apart?
So as you can see by the title my “partner” (29) and I (21) split up to take some time apart. It was his idea for the break. To start it off we’ve been dating for a month and in the beginning everything was great until last week when he was acting odd. Not communicating as much. Being distant. At the time he told me work has been the problem. Fast forward to Tuesday I caught him on grindr and confronted him about it. He said he only logged in that day and hasn’t done anything. Then today he says he wants to take a break so he can figure out his issues because he has mixed feelings about being in a relationship and doubting it. He says he’s going through personal problems too. He’s trying to find a new job and possibly move because of a bad situation that went down at his job. He would like to be friends and hang out still until he gets his stuff figured out but I honestly don’t know how to feel about it. I’m confused. I’m still trying to process all of this. I wish we didn’t talk about this through text. Should’ve been in person or on a phone call. I just don’t know what to do. I’m not sure if I should get back with him if he decides to start over in the future or just be friends again or just cut him out for good. Some wise words about this would be very much appreciated
TLDR: my partner wants to split up to take some time apart because of personal issues and his uncertainty of our relationship and and I’m confused on what I want to be to him in the future

2023.06.10 23:36 Hotel-Dependent Black Widow should’ve been a character study of Natasha and a physiological thriller, without mind control
My biggest issue with Black Widow is that everything is based around mind control, and that every action in this movie, everything that could’ve been a big choice is based around mind control.
Imagine if not killing Dreykoff, not taking revenge and choosing to not be who she was before was a choice that Natasha made instead off being based around pheromones. That was ridiculous, and it was just as ridiculous as somehow Palpatine returned.
This movie should’ve made us understand Natasha more and given her an arc that makes us and her question if she has really become a better person or if she’s just trying to make herself feel better, or if she’s trying to make herself feel loved after a lifetime of being a villain.
Yelena should’ve been pretending like she was mind-controlled and broke free throughout this movie, but Black Widow’s big twist should’ve been that she was a spy working for Dreykoff, but as she infiltrates Natasha’s life, she becomes more conflicted, and in this movie’s third act, she’ll switch sides fully after Natasha inspires her too.
Mind controlling his Widows should be something that Dreykoff will want to do but that he can never achieve, showing how human independence is greater than any version of control.
If you base your movie’s thematic arc on such annoying plot devices instead of only using them at a minimum than your movie will fall a part and Black Widow demonstrates that perfectly.
