Hi all,
I've had different usernames on my Lyme journey and have been lurking, hanging out, and posting on here for so many years.
I was born & raised in NJ. Bitten by 10-15 ticks in one of the highest lyme rate counties — all in one day. I never got a rash. Didn't develop symptoms. I got sick the day I turned 23.
A few days later, I moved 600 miles away from the area I grew up. I was immediately thrown into some of the worst stress of my life. My mom was being abused, I couldn't find work, I tried working as a stripper (only lasted a day—it was horrible).
I partied like anyone else who was 21 and 22. I liked getting drunk off beer. The final year before I got lyme, I was doing small doses and moderate use of MDMA every other months (never drank during it.)
On the night of my 23rd birthday, I drank like 7 baybreezes through the night. I was pretty damn drunk. Went to bed and woke up feeling funny. I had gotten sick but not hang over sick. It felt like a really bad flu.
And the symptoms kept getting worse and worse.
And kept lasting for weeks, then months.
FULL LIST OF SYMPTOMS I HAD (that went away with time and treatment): severe knife stabbing joint pain, breathlessness, soaking through my sheets at night, UTI problems and crazy amounts of bladder shedding with no actual UTI, hip pain, missing menstrual cycle for 6 months, swollen knees, ear ringing, ice pick headaches, couldn't read because letters would move around a page, and having a several month bout of EBV when I was 25-26, inability to grip or use my hands, pins and needles in various places.
I'm probably missing some symptoms, but its been such a long time now.
FULL LIST OF SYMPTOMS I DEAL WITH DAILY NOW: constant ear ringing (*maybe due to ABX use for embedded UTI as well as lyme), mild and occasional joint pain, mild herxes to new herbals or ABX that last 1-3 days max, can't consume gluten or alcohol, chronic UTI problems currently being treated by a new doctor.
^ It's almost nothing compared to what I dealt with all through my 20s.
Now I'm almost 32 and wanted to share the most important points of how I got better.
Breakdown of physical meds/herbals and medical actions that helped me in order of usefulness:
-Moving out of condo with mold problem
-CBD Oil
-Terry Naturally's Pain relief curamin
-Doxycycline for 1 month (***Early on getting my illness, 1 month of Doxy is what cleared the swollen knees, ice pick headaches
-Finding an LLMD ~4-5 months into my illness
-Going gluten free
-LLMD put me on dong quai and I got my period back in the same month (after 6 months of nothing)-
-cats claw
-NAC
-green tea with chamomile at night
-magnesium before bed is a MUST — at least 800 mg/night)
-Leaving my LLMD at the 8 year mark
-Getting a new remote doctor who wants to take me the rest of the way that my LLMD couldn't figure out
-Allimax x1 a day now
-x1 Biocidin
-Currently on and off a very small dose of Eluthero
Things that helped me get mentally better and live a decent life with lyme:
-Not letting asshole doctors get to my head when they said "Lyme disease, don't you think that's a little too much?"
-Self published a book about some of my painful experiences and it aided me a lot in part of my grieving
-Walk on a daily basis (started as soon as I was able to)
-Switched careers towards things better geared for lyme. Went from teaching to aerospace to copywriting remotely.

Hello Legionnaires, I have some questions about upgrading my laptop. I've looked at some videos, and this one guide (all linked below) to see about where to start. I have a general idea, but I would like to be more informed on some things.
Problem:
I want to add 2 new 4TB WD SN850X, one into the spare/open/available slot, and one to replace my main 1TB Samsung stock SSD. (I've read that 4TB SN850X is physically able to fit, have seen several posts about it in this sub).

I know how to open up the case, remove the drives, but I am a bit lost on how I would cloning process. If I were to clone the 1TB stock data to the spare, and replace the 1TB stock drive with the new 4TB drive, would I be able to boot the computer from the spare, to then clone the data back to the main?
I downloaded the Samsung SSD Integrated Software Installer for the cloning.
Bonus question:
Any tips for replacing the stock Wi-Fi card? One of the videos listed goes into details but if anyone here has any personal experience with the upgrade I'd like to hear about it :)

Hi, before I start I wanted to say that English isn't my first language. So sorry for any future spelling mistakes.
I don't really know how to start, but I'm 17 years old, and I live with both parents whom are still married.
When I was younger my "dad" used to touch me, it was always when no one was watching. He would touch me from behind when I was going up the stairs.
I can't remember the age I was when it started, my mind has deleted a lot of (trauma) memories from my childhood. But I'm thinking it started when I was around 6/7 years old. This happened for years (until I was like 12 I think), it stopped when my mum caught him once, but I doubt that she knows about all the other times that it happened. And I don't know if she remembered that time she caught him.
I do know that now everytime I go up the stairs, I run, I don't go up the stairs if someone is behind me, because it makes me anxious and really uncomfortable.
Also, its stupid I have such a hard time with this, he didn't actually touch my skin, there was always clothes between them. But I still despise my "father" so much. The hatred I have for him is too much, it annoyes me when he makes noise, breathes, or even exists. I hate looking at him.
I only told one person about this, a person who I trusted very much, but they've betrayed that trust, which makes it even harder to tell someone else. I sometimes want to tell my mum, but I don't want to ruin her marriage. She claims she loves him, even though he also annoys her sometimes.
Besides all this, my father also has some problems on where he can make some pretty awfull comments about someone, or does things just because he knows it will annoy people. Also have I never seen the man cry, not even at funerals or such.
I don't really know where I'm going with this, I guess I just had to tell someone who doesn't know me, have someone look at it with fresh eyes. Thanks for reading all this, I don't know if the order of this story makes sense, but if I go back and read it it'll just make me angry and upset.

last night I got home from work and spun up Diablo 4 for a few hours of monster killing, but my fun was cut short by my 5th butcher encounter. I am only level 33 and at this point I am overwhelmed by the number of times I have had to fight this unbeatable monster. It isn't scary or fun at this point to know with 100% certainty that I won't be able to beat this enemy, and so I come here to ask you,
the fellow Diablo 4 enthusiasts, for some advice or tips on how to overcome this hurdle. What should my strategy be? What gear should I equip? What abilities work best against The Butcher?
I've tried kiting, I've even tried running in terror but nothing seems to work. I'm also struggling to find a co-op partner because none of my friends play Diablo 4, so any tips for a lone wolf would be greatly appreciated.

I filled out an SF85 in Jan. 2017. I said I hadn’t done drugs in last 7 years. That was not true (I had done MJ in 2014 and 2015).
Since then, I only used MJ for about a year from late 2018 to early 2020.
I am about to fill out an SF86. I plan to give the honest answer: yes, I did MJ about 15-20 times from late 2018 to early 2020. Those are the only instances of drug use in the last 7 years.
I understand the investigator would have access to my prior SF85. I’m wondering how an investigator would react to seeing the “No” on the SF85 even though I disclosed drug use on the SF86. Would they investigate whether I was being truthful on my prior SF85? Would they call folks and ask them about drug use during the 7 years preceding the SF85? Like most TIFUs, it started with good intentions. I woke up knowing what I needed to do. But I was terrified to admit to the entire site I may have made a mistake. So I spent the morning prepping, psyching myself up, and carefully considering my words. By noon, I was confident I was going to turn all of this around.
But oh, how I was wrong.
I navigate over to tifu, and what do I see on the front page?
Then came the real shocker. Redditors responding that they had at first believed it was the real me saying these things. They had hoped, and their hopes had been crushed. Now, disillusioned, they would not so readily accept some half-hearted post about seeing the error of my ways. Now, I finally realized the degree of my FU.
Frustration mounted, and so did regret. This wasn't what I wanted. I would have posted my piece, then everybody would forgive me, and everything would go back to the way it was.
Yet, here we are.
I've made a monumental miscalculation in assessing how far some redditors go in mocking and satirizing me. I didn't realize the extent to which trolls and shitposters were woven into the fabric of daily Reddit operations.
So, here's my TIFU, Reddit. It's a big one, and I'm still grappling with the fallout. But if there's one thing I know about this platform, it's that we're a community. We're in this together, and we'll figure it out together.

Yet, here we are.
I've made a monumental miscalculation in assessing how far some redditors go in mocking and satirizing me. I didn't realize the extent to which trolls and shitposters were woven into the fabric of daily Reddit operations.
So, here's my TIFU, Reddit. It's a big one, and I'm still grappling with the fallout. But if there's one thing I know about this platform, it's that we're a community. We're in this together, and we'll figure it out together.
I'm listening. Let's talk.
TL;DR - Tried to unify Reddit under the official app, phased out third-party apps, caused chaos, possibly destabilized the platform, took too long to realize what I had done, missed my opportunity to give the appearance of a heartfelt apology, and learned a lesson about…something?

Blake: "Yeah we kinda noticed. Will you be alright?"
Leo: "Yeah, I just need to get my head in the game."
Teddy: "Cool! Cause it looks like there's something going wrong down there."
Blake: "What is it?"
Leo, Blake, and Teddy looked down to see an out of control car zipping down the road, it looked like a beat up van, a very beat up looking van, it was white with no windows, but the back was completely open and instead were some masked criminals, with hundreds of dollars in the back of their van stolen from the bank, and Angela! She was tied up and looked to be a hostage.
???: "HEY DYNAMITE PUNCH GIRLS!! CATCH US IF YOU CAN!!"
Leo: "What!?"
Teddy: "Is that supposed to get our attention?"
Blake: "Could be a trap! And is that the super fan from earlier?"
Leo: "Doesn't matter! She needs our help!"
The 3 of them all swooped down from above chasing the van as it went, down streets and the like, Leo, Blake, and Teddy would've been on top of the van anyways, they were good at chases, but the van made it easy for them to catch up, somehow, it even screeched to a resounding halt when the Dynamite Punch Girls managed to catch up, the bad guys if you could even call them that hopped out of the car immediately and started groveling and pathetically begging.
Criminal1: "Oh Dynamite Punch Girls! You caught us big time! We apologize greatly for our misdeeds! We return the money immediately to the bank!"
Leo: "Huh? Uh. Okay, just don't steal?"
Criminal2: "We're so sorry! We apologize greatly to your greatness!"
Teddy: "Okay! Calm down! That's enough!"
Criminal3: "Uh. We also release the hostage!"
The criminals quickly grabbed out Angela, and untied her, to which she smiled and quickly hugged Leo.
Angela: "My hero!"
Leo: "Um uh. Thanks? I guess?"
Angela oddly enough let go, only so she could also hug Blake and Teddy as well.
Angela: "You heroes deserve such a big reward for saving me!"
Leo: "Uh. Huh? Reward? No no it's fine, we save lives all the--"
Suddenly Leo, Blake, and Teddy felt her put on something around their necks, it felt like a collar, or a choker of some kind, and they couldn't get it off at all.

I could make a long rant about how I hate Orks as a Tyranid player.
I have a Friend who plays green tide orks. A lot of units making the best of his auras. His armies always hugs the Aura charters, grazkull as one example, so I cant focus them out.
One of my main issues is that I don’t want to leave him with the board control so that I loose points (meaning taking my time shooting him) but that leaves me in a position where I have no choice to clash with him in a whaag state.
Instead of going into detail about how beat down and depressed I am that I have invested WAY to much money into a Tyranid army, and almost bought the Levaiathan box. Please hit me with a solid, idiot proof, tactic on how to play against a Greentide Ork.

When my parents used to own our store they offered a member discount- 7% when using CC and 10% when using cash. The thing is I don't even like the Fairy Godparents. The animation always drove me to overstimulation and the writing I always thought was stupid and sexist/ageist, but at the peak of my obsession I would watch 20 episodes a day just to get closer to Vicky. I also read every fanfiction about her I could. I thought and still think about her more than the average person thinks about their parents.
Unlike many extreme toonophiles I tried to keep my obsessision on the down low, but last year my co-workers found out about my enamoration with her. So, I know there is a lot of debate about exactly how force lightning behaves and whether it's "really" lightning/electricity, but for the purposes of this exercise let's say that it is basically standard arcs of electricity by the time it gets to the target.
There are several on-screen instances of lightsabers seeming to attract the force lightning to them. The most obvious example I think is Dooku vs Obi-want in AotC; the spread of Dooku's lightning seems much wider than the blade, but Obi-Wan absorbs/deflects it all on his saber. It seems like this is "a thing" because everyone using a saber vs lightning seems to be successful at it, and if there wasn't some sort of force attracting the arcs to the blade it should be easy to beat; just hold your hands wider so the arcs spread out around the blade.
Again getting into made-up physics, is there any real science that would explain this, given what we "know" about how lightsabers work? I'm assuming it has something to do with the magnetic field the sabers would put out that explain why they seem to have weight to them? Or is this the Jedi somehow "forcing" the lighting to concentrate on the blade (except for "Grand Master Badass" who just sucks it into his hand)?

The only saving grace was the lemoncello cake my SO bought for my twin and I (who was also my best support that day because she hates our day just as much).
My dad is a crazy narcissistic sociopath. I have cut contact with him over 12 years ago and he is all 'woe is me' about it to anyone who listens. I dont want to get into my whole life story so the TL;DR is that when I was 11 my parents divorced after my mom defended herself after he attempted to beat her because she got mad at him when she found out he was cheating on her their entire relationship. Ok sorry that was so long. But that's the jist of it. So I cut contact with my dad and brother after I had a suicide attempt when i was like, 24 because i was in chronic pain and every doc kept saying it was in my head. The same docs were upset that I took their words literally. How else was I supposed to take it when that's all you say?
Anyways... When I reached out for support my dad said 'what do you expect from me? go find another man to take care of you' and my brother told me to never come near him or his family until I get over myself.
After a decade I stupidly went LC with my brother in attempt to rekindle a relationship. It was going ok until yesterday.
My dad always tries to call and text me to say happy birthday. He never responds to me when I reply. I asked for an apology from him as a birthday present. I've tried talking to my brother about it, I ask him why he never responds. He says he doesn't want to get involved. I said it would be nice to have my older brother stand up for me for once in my life. He responds, basically saying he is sick of my drama with dad, the drama I created between us (brother and I) and if I can't accept everything for what it is, he has nothing to say to me anymore, he's got his own shit to deal with.
I didn't respond to him but I got so angry I somehow shattered a ring off my finger when I slammed my hand down on my coffee table after reading his text message.

The only saving grace was the lemoncello cake my SO bought for my twin and I (who was also my best support that day because she hates our day just as much).
My dad is a crazy narcissistic sociopath. I have cut contact with him over 12 years ago and he is all 'woe is me' about it to anyone who listens. I dont want to get into my whole life story so the TL;DR is that when I was 11 my parents divorced after my mom defended herself after he attempted to beat her because she got mad at him when she found out he was cheating on her their entire relationship. It was a messy divorce and he is still with the same woman. This woman served me the divorce papers which I didn't know what it was, and it broke me seeing my mom break down after opening the envelope. He never called or visited or let us know where he lived (my twin and I). The only person who knew was my brother. He was my dad's Golden child. Let's say my brother is the type of guy who stole $10,000 as a teen and got away with it, crashed every car he owned and got another within the same week.
