I recently had to use AirCover for a monthly rental that was inaccurately described in the following ways:

• Not a waterfront property as listed.
• No "access to water" as listed - this was the reason we booked this house. Instead we found a long (200 yards?), overgrown "path" that the host claimed belongs to the neighbors, and thus he's not responsible for maintenance.
• No "stunning view" as pictured and described in the listing - actual view is just the host's house and driveway with a tiny, overgrown view of a bit of water behind.
• Has security cameras, opposite to what was explicitly listed as "no security cameras on property" (not too important for us but an inaccuracy all the same).

In addition to the those inaccuracies:

• All water, including "filtered", had a heavy iron flavor. It was completely undrinkable.
• Heavy mildew smell that didn't clear overnight with windows open.
• Dirty kitchen with hairs and dirt in the sink and fridge.
• Extremely slow internet speed (4mb/s down, ~0.9mb/s up) inadequate for remote work/video conferencing. Host claimed "it's the fastest available" but my LTE phone is, comically, much faster. They make LTE modems.
• No desk or dedicated workspace as listed, and the only TV was broken - he did offer to fix these but, in light of everything else above, of course it wasn't enough for us to stay.

Around 2pm after the first night, and after calling AirBnB about these issues after being unable to accept the hosts' inadequate redress, we heard two 8ish round gun clips being emptied within 100 yards of the house in chilling succession. We don’t know for sure if it was the host but that didn't stop us from becoming deathly afraid and fleeing in a panicked rush - the news is full of awful shootings these days and we didn't want to risk dying.
I spent about 4 hours on the phone with support that evening waiting for AirCover to help us. Suddenly, and after previously confirming we were covered under AirCover, support started stonewalling us and we ate dinner that night in a parking lot. They wouldn't advise us on how we should proceed; whether we should get a hotel for the night or if AirCover cover us somehow. Instead, they just repeated "we'll call you back very soon" and then never did. We waited for hours for them to call back. Finally, after receiving no word from support before nightfall, despite us calling multiple times, we booked ourselves into a hotel at around 9pm.
About a week later, and after days of persistent attempts to get "rebooking assistance" and living out of a hotel, they sent a list of options - none of which had the features we needed and originally booked. We found a place without their help (more expensive of course - booking on such short notice), and still haven't received a discount for our new stay.
They gave us a partial refund for the original stay, but then charged us for 2 extra nights (3 total) and didn't explain why.
Now the email I'm getting is:
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Upholding the policies and standards that protect our community is very important to us. We’ve given your case and its details careful consideration, and we determined that you have not received yet the 20% Coupon for your rebooking assistance in your last reservation [xxxxxx] with your Host, Robert. As per checking on you last case, you have been promised to received 20% coupon not a discount to your next reservation. We understand that this might not be what you’d hoped for, but we came to this outcome because this is the policy and guidlines[sic] that we need to follow. Our review is complete now, and we won’t be able to offer additional support on this case at this time. They gave me a 20% discount on the three nights they charged me (where I only stayed one).
Do I have any options here - legal or otherwise?
This feels so wrong.
Update: They just decided to refund me for the nights that I didn't stay there, but said that they can't do anything more to help.

So I was driving home from my place of work. I got of the busy interstate and down off the exit ramp. Once I got to the STOP sign at the bottom, I prepared my turn signal and got ready to make my usual left turn to get the next road to go home. I looked right, then left, then right again. I thought I was clear to cross and make the turn, but I guess I was wrong…
The next thing I remember was a car nailing my back driver side door. Both the back driver side window and driver window airbags deployed and my car spun around. I was now facing the exit ramp I just came down. I screamed as I soon realized my car was coasting a bit. I quickly then put the car in park and dialed 911. My car then remained in the middle of traffic for 15 minutes until it was towed off the road and to my home, where it now sits…
This entire scene, from the moment of the turn…to the impact…to the dialing of 911…has been replaying in my head ever since the crash. The crash has happened a little over 24 hours ago, so I get the physical and mental wounds would still be fresh…But…My parents want me back to driving in two days…
They want me to drive the rental car the insurance company will give me for the next however many days, which terrifies me. Every time I sit in silence or I’m with my own thoughts or I feel the pain or soreness on my body from the crash, my mind flashes and replays the incident from the moment I tried to make the turn, to the impact of the crash. Even just sitting in the car today with someone else behind the wheel made me almost slip into a panic attack.
It’s bad enough my autism and anxiety made me terrified to drive starting out of the gate. And the driving coach I had wasn’t the kindest either. But now…Now I’m mortified…
So in short, these are the problems I wish to solve:
1) How can I process and let go of my trauma in the most healthy way that my autism can handle?
2) How can I gain the strength to be able to drive on my own again?
3) How can I learn to just let others drive without me needing to backseat drive?

Test drove tesla model 3 and bmw i4 e35 and e40 both. I have a typical non luxury suv as a family car currently which i plan to use for another 5 years or so and thinking to buy an ev car just for driving fun. I thought bmw i4 will be luxury and very good. But i did not feel as excited after test driving it first time and second time as well the excitement was not there. It didn’t feel any special or so. But when i test drove model 3 i felt excited. I liked the minimalist nature of interior, console, lane keep assisted driving even in base model etc. also model 3 rear seat is more spacious. The range is more. Probably the i4 build quality is better but there is no excitement of buying a new car as such. No wow factor. Cramp rear seats, interior is not that luxurious as i expected in comparison of model 3. When i checked the bmw ix interior made me feel wow, but definitely not i4. Today as there was a stock of e35 with essential package in white exterior and brown interior, the dealor is giving discount of 3k, but still it didn’t excite me to buy the car. This is still 8k cad more expensive than m3. I am still inclined towards tesla model 3 base version red color. Am I thinking right?

My little sister has recently started dating a guy who has a newborn child living in another state with the mother. I get that it’s not my place to judge, but it just sparked a red flag in my head.
I also tried to get her on my health insurance plan, as time is almost up & I wanted her to have health insurance. She said no & said she also doesn’t think she will ever have a salaried job.
She also recently quit her job she’s had for 5 years, and she has said the manager wasn’t nice to her, but she’s now working for the guy she’s dating.
I finally told her I was very worried for her & id be there if she needs help (she spends most of her time with this guy & he gave her a rental car when hers wasn’t working in December-she wouldn’t let me Help her).
She told me to F off, and that she no longer wants me in her life. And has yet to apologize.

My parents have never been financially literate. They have bad credit and depend on us to apply for loans for them and all that (I did it once as a kid but learned fast never to do it again). They took us on trips every year when we were kids but never saved up any college funds… while I appreciate them trying and giving us trips, i didnt really appreciate having to take out college loans. Anyways, you get the point.
My family (technically just my dad) is set to receive a windfall amount from a lawsuit, which came from unfortunate circumstances. He has specifically come to me and asked me to invest the money and keep it going, though I’m uncertain he really knows how investments work, like the money is locked up and u can’t spend it.
I see this as an opportunity to finally make ourselves live comfortable forever and finally create generational wealth if done correctly (get a financial advisor, tax attorney, open a business after doing a huge amount of research, invest after doing a huge amount of research, etc). That means… none of us quit our job we basically live normal lives but now have some passive income, have retirement accounts, savings accounts, etc. stuff my family has legit never had at any point in their lives. We have 1 rental property but… that in itself is a different story. They haven’t raised rents since 2012… I know.
However all that’s come out of everyone’s mouths… they want quit their jobs, to buy cars, give money to this friend who has a business idea or that friend who can flip houses, buy their dream house (looking at 2m houses), etc. basically, blow all the money. I will be damned if I let them do any of that. If we invest and lose it all, okay at least we tried. Even tho that in itself would be pretty hard to do. I would have to invest all the money really stupidly like 100% in call and put options lnao.
Basically, how do I talk to my parents, specifically my dad about financial literacy? He unfortunately suffers from addictions which have led him to the financial problems he’s in today and is the main culprit of talking all the craziness mentioned above. I feel like the second it’s locked up in investments, my family will turn on me and say I’m stealing money or I don’t know what I’m doing (even tho my day job is in Investment and I went to school for it)….

So last week, I took the train from Ottawa to Montreal to get to the airport. When I got off at Dorval Station, the shuttle arrived after about 7 minutes, but it was a small van, maybe 8 passengers. The problem is about 30 people got off the train and needed to get to the terminal. The driver told us he would be back in half an hour. Is this a common issue here? I kindof expected a large shuttle, similar to the buses you see take people to car rental lots.
Unfortunately I was cutting it close already (my Ottawa flight was canceled and I had to hop on a train to Montreal so I could catch my flight), so I had to get an uber to get to the terminal. I actually ended up splitting it with 4 other people who were in a rush, so it wasn't too bad. But if the shuttle only comes every half hour, they really need a vehicle that can hold more people.

My spouse and I sold our house and are renting a duplex from our good friend and realtor while we wait for the housing market to calm down.
We rent one side while the other side is occupied by our landlord's business partner who went in as co-owner on the entire property with our landlord. Landlord says he has an agreement with him that they split maintenance of the property and he is responsible for /rents out/lives in his half and landlord has our half.
Both sides have equal amount of parking, but ours has the exit out to the street and his ends on his side from our shared driveway.
The guy parks his giant WORK diesel truck and trailer in our parking area instead of his, taking up quite a bit of space. He was there before we moved in and our landlord said it's up to us if we continue to let him do it or not. Guy says our landlord and last tenant let him do it before we were here. When we moved in we said he could for now until things changed for us and we'd let him know. Our rental agreement says we pay for and maintain our parking area side and nothing about him being allowed to park there.
We just bought an rv and we need the space. We told him he needs to find other arrangements and he LOST HIS SH*T. We cleared it with our landlord and he backs us. Guy is furious and says landlord made a "gentleman's agreement" with him. Now that he actually moved them, he even says that our vehicles are now "spread out" in our parking pad (which we couldnt do before because he had his truck and trailer there) and there'd be room for his stuff if we didn't do that. He also has a grown son who lives there and he and his friends have tried to use our parking as well. Sometimes they had so many of their cars on our side our lawncare guy couldn't come in and do the maintenance our rental agreement says we have to do.
Do we have anything to worry about since he's a Co owner? Can owners use the parking of their own property and I just dont know about this? I don't want to be in the wrong, and now I don't go outside alone because he's really angry and I don't want to run into him while I'm unsure about it (I'm a female).
