A call to adventure...
A call echoes from the labyrinth of towering trees. From the harsh savannah to the necrotic swamplands. Within this harsh climate lurks wonderments and beacons of hope speckled across the antagonistic backdrop. The leafy canopy looming aloft, to the distant crooning of wildlife, paints a vivid image of life thriving within the Darwinian tussle. The residents of this land are hardy folk—a people of enriched culture and unique perspectives. And tucked from prying eyes remain the delipidated carcasses of former empires. Grand structures that are now gradually being swallowed up by nature.
The ambiance is one of hope marred by the conflicts of yesteryear. Here the stories of many are interwoven and intersect organically. An original world where even the NPCs are people, and the characters one might make are forged via play and development. The stories and legacy of current and former writers culminate in a grand narrative that fuels every facet of the universe. Where consequences, both beneficial and dire, have refashioned the history and trajectory of the provinces.
So come cradle within the branches. Surrender to the call that has lured many a great writer before you. And see what influence you will leave behind for others to follow. For here, everything is earned, nothing is given, and no one can strip away what is merited.

Q&A
So, what are you guys?
We're an original world with a long history. We've bounded between rp mediums and weathered many of their expirations.

Where is the prompt?
There is none because it's a universe. People create characters and live their life and role within the setting. Their efforts then change the world for better or for worse. So there isn't one prompt as the saga is continuous. It's a collection of stories from grand to small that make it up.

What are your rules?
No godmodding/ metagaming.
Read the lore.
Read your partner's post.
Respect one another
And have fun.

What will you guys not allow?
Our magic system is straightforward. There is a degree of groundedness to it. We won't accept magic that violates the mechanics of the universe.

Not reading the lore.
You can't just add a race, as that would alter decades of IC stories and development. What's there is there. A race coming out of these advanced nation-states' woodworks is too far-fetched. It would be like heading down a different street on Earth and finding mole people with a large empire or city.
Guns.
How do I get approved?
Submit a sheet. We have a template up, but it isn't required. And then a mod will look over it to ensure it doesn't violate the setting.

How do I gain stuff?
Through play. Want to be a better warrior, do warrior things. No amount of bar hopping will make you a better fighter. This applies to all roles.

Is there more to the world?
Yes, but the other areas don't matter. As such, they don't exist in the eyes of those who inhabit the universe. A way to break this down quickly is to use North and South America. They existed, but they didn't hold any relevance to ancient China. So writing up America and trying to force it in will be denied. It isn't fair to those who have worked to get where they are or are currently working. And the lore presented is a summary. More information will be provided if needed.

What if I can't write much?
We all start somewhere. Additionally, RP is not a competition; it is collaborative.

2023.05.29 04:48 yoowerethegoo My LAR Review and tips for living there

I have lived in LAR in the past and I want to share my experience and opinion to help students pick out where they want to live. In general, it's a very "okay" experience, there are good and bad points like every other dorm, but I was very happy to move out of it.
LAR is located east of the bottom-right corner of the Quad. It is behind Allen Hall, and so is next to the CRCE gym and the McKinley Health Center. The location is pretty nice, I can walk to the Union in like 12 minutes, to ISR in 10 and to PAR in less than 10. There is a bus stop behind LAR (in front of Allen) and in front of LAR, so getting around the campus is not too difficult.
The building is pretty old, which has the plus of looking cool from the outside, and a nice ballroom where there is often someone playing piano. It has the downsides of lacking air conditioner, which is mostly a problem during the first and last 3-4 weeks of the year, getting a box fan or borrowing one from the dorm if available is necessary. I have lived most of my life without AC, so it is pretty bearable for me, but the thick concrete and brick walls make it so heat stays inside. It also faces the problem of having an old heating system. It automatically turns on when it gets cold enough, and it sounds like something is crawling up the pipes when it starts. The heater works too well, and many times I've had to open the window during the winter while it runs, even with the vent always closed, as the heat emanates from the radiator.
The room size is pretty nice, I always had room for random things and food, and the beds can be lofted. A bed rail can be ordered and installed for free from the campus housing website. The mattress is pretty mediocre, there is a soft side and a firm side that is more "less soft" than firm. There is a lot of space for clothes in the two drawers, and space for additional furniture if needed. There's one half-mirror in the room attached to a closet door, and the closet is pretty spacious. A mini fridge and microwave can be rented from the dorm, but it's pretty easy to find a cheap one on Facebook or Craigslist. If you're picking a room, try to get one that doesn't face the backside, as the food delivery truck or the garbage truck comes in the morning and is super loud. Also, remember that the fire alarm will go off at some times during the year, and I suggest covering your ears or wearing headphones once it goes off as it echoes off the walls to become super loud in the rooms and hallways.
The bathrooms are shared on each wing (usually 2 male or 2 female hallways per wing) of a floor, and there is about 25 people on each wing. The cleanliness of the bathrooms depends on the people using them, personally I found them pretty gross as people leave hairs in the shower stalls or on the toilet seat pretty often, or don't wipe the toilet seat after themselves. Luckily housing cleans the bathrooms every day at around noon, however paper towels always seemed to run out at the end of each day. If there is a problem, notify maintenance and they are pretty quick to respond, usually in the same day or the day after.
The 2 laundry rooms in the basement have 5 machines, and usually one or two of them are out of order. There is a lot of dryers, but be sure to turn the dryer setting on low, as they run super hot for some reason. There's also a big sink if you want to hand wash your clothes. Also located in the basement is a music practice room and a study room.
The food at LAR is pretty hit or miss. There's no breakfast and the dining halls close an hour earlier than the others, but it also has a vegetarian/vegan dining hall. I found myself going to ISR or PAR pretty often during my second semester, as it was much better, and the meats don't have just a surface level of seasoning. The burgers and fries at LAR were pretty good though. The salad and yogurt bar is the same as PAR's, and the lines are a lot shorter. The close distance to PAR and ISR also make it easy to use your dining dollars at the stores.
I had a good experience with the people that lived there with me, there are also a lot of dorm events every month. I found myself out of my room a lot of the time busy with clubs or studying, so a lot of the downsides of the dorm weren't that impactful. Hearing someone play in the music practice room or the piano in the ballroom was always nice. The biggest part of your first year experience is always what you make out of it, and your room is mostly just a place for you to sleep or do work in, so as long as you make yourself active you'll have a good time living anywhere. If you have a problem, talk to your RA or the person directly to sort it out. If it's unsolvable, you're still able to switch rooms and buildings during the year.

2023.05.29 04:48 Tasty_Two4260 Plan to test Walkie Talkie for Teams

I need to setup a proof of concept environment for the Teams Walkie Talkie app and functionality where I work but am unable to get it added. (Politics.) This would be the ideal solution for emergency response communications where I work as we’re on Office 365 and the portable phones used are dependent upon our physical network remaining up during power outages or fiber cuts (lots of construction in the area). Thinking with the Cloud and mobile devices having the MS Teams App installed, the Teams can be established with required Channels created and members added to permit Walkie Talkie (push to talk) communications to happen to keep the various levels of management apprised of the situation across the enterprise. I’m looking for a plan where I setup this environment to demonstrate the concept. Can anyone recommend a hosting provider and specific plan? I’d like to host 10 to 25 test user accounts, and I’ll be paying for this out of pocket. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Also, if you have experience with creating a similar environment and are willing to share lessons learned I’m all ears. Thanks to all for taking the time to read.

Best Gaming Routers In USA Available on Amazon

Gaming routers are designed to provide a better online gaming experience by reducing lag and improving latency. If you are a serious online gamer, then a gaming router can be a worthwhile investment. It can help to improve your gaming experience and reduce lag, which can give you a competitive edge.
Benefits of Using a Gaming Router:
  • Reduced lag: Lag is the delay between when you press a button on your controller or keyboard and when the action is reflected on the screen. Gaming routers can help to reduce lag by optimizing your network and prioritizing gaming traffic.
  • Improved latency: Latency is the time it takes for data to travel from your computer to the game server. Gaming routers can help to improve latency by using a variety of techniques, such as reducing the distance between your computer and the game server.
  • Faster speeds: Gaming routers typically have faster processors and more memory than traditional routers, which allows them to handle more data at once. This can lead to faster download speeds and less lag during online gaming.
  • Better range: Gaming routers often have more powerful antennas than traditional routers, which can extend the range of your Wi-Fi network. This can be helpful if you have a large home or if you live in an area with a lot of interference.
Advanced security features: Gaming routers often have more advanced security features than traditional routers. This can help to protect your network from hackers and other online threats.

2023.05.29 04:45 Accurate-Nerve-9194 Technicolor TC8717T support?

Hi! I just bought a Technicolor TC8717T modem/router combo from a thrift store. I would like to install Tomato on it and use it as a secondary routerange extender, as well as potentially a VPN server, NAS, and maybe other things. Is there a way to do that? I could probably compile some stuff, if need be.
Thanks for any help you guys can provide :)

2023.05.29 04:44 Senseornahyaknow New User - Can't Create Account

Hi. I've never used instagram before, but went to an anime con and met someone into cars like me and they gave me their instagram. I tried to create an account so I could talk to them, but I am getting an 'Open Proxy' error.

Google said that means my IP has been banned. This confuses me because I've never used this before, but I really want to talk to the person. Some troubleshooting I have tried.
Create account from my work's PC (same problem) Create account with different email (same problem) Create account via VPN proxy on Tokyo servers (same problem)
Is there anything I can do to figure out wtf is going on and why I can't make an account? Thanks anyone for your time and attention. I read the rules and think this post is acceptable, but if it isn't please let me know why and I'll be sure to update it properly.
Thanks.

2023.05.29 04:40 SheepherderBig4331 How to take pictures with instax mini film on your polaroid 340

How to take pictures with instax mini film on your polaroid 340
I realized people were making templates for using the instax mini films on the polaroid 340 cameras and I realized the film fits perfectly in the camera without anything special! Below are my notes and output.
Speed setting 75 Lighten - all the way over lighten(over exposure) Use the bottom? Setting by flipping the yellow indicator in the front Insert your instax case verticle and align in middle- should fit perfectly and the case should self hold because of the frame
The above setting is for indoor night.
After you take a shot, go to a dark room or a change bag and install the instax case back into the instax - this will automatically roll and eject the film and keep the film protected from the dark.
Remember to install or Uninstall the case alwaus in the dark.
Hope this helps.

2023.05.29 04:40 an0nymous3_MK2 Portable arch linux, whilst using the same drive as an external storage, for say windows?

Hi everyone! I'm new to arch (although been using it for a year, but im still learning!) and would like to know: Has this been done before?
I'm planning to do a portable installation of arch on an external ssd or a usb drive. I've setup a server on my iPhone via an app called iSH, so I can save my files directly to my phone, and i can email, etc, the necessary files from there. I'm currently a student just learning python, so I only have relatively small files to send to and from the iPhone. All i need is a decent UX and UI for the portable os (thinking of kde), security stuff (like containers), pycharm and some note taking utilities.
How would one go about doing this? thanks in advance!

2023.05.29 04:39 VillainUnion1 Who was the Child in Bleak Falls Barrow?

I remember playing Skyrim when I was very young and incapable of installing mods yet I still remember there being a child in bleak falls Barrow, specifically at the entrance with the other 2 bandits. Every time I look it up I can't seem to find anything about it, I even asked chat GTP (Wich from my experience is quite knowledgeable on Skyrim and elders scrolls lore) but it said there was no child there. As some sort of proof when you walk twords the giant spider room the man trapped will call out for help, he calls out 3 names, Hadvir, Bjorn, and Solene. Two of the names refer to the bandits at the entrance but I don't recall any other named NPC at the beginning besides the child. Does anyone remember there being a child NPC at the entrance of bleak falls Barrow with the other 2 bandits?

2023.05.29 04:36 ControversialBanana0 Building my first gaming PC for 1440p gaming!

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc\)
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.
Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?
Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?
Extra info or particulars:

This is the build I came up with: https://pcpartpicker.com/usePcGoBoom/saved/#view=YgWK7P
(I'd like to go ryzen 7000 btw so that I can upgrade to a better cpu down the line ~maybe 3 to 4 years~, without having to replace my entire motherboard.)
Thanks for reading!

2023.05.29 04:34 KommanderDino Well this sucks, But here.

Well, this is a post I didn’t want to make. I help run a bedrock realm with someone, you can check my profile for more info. But, we just got grieved (horribly), they destroyed every chest, map, shulker, and everything they could at our spawn and shopping district.
We are pretty sure we know who did it, (I will tell you) so we don’t need help with that. But I would like to ask every single realm to never let this person on your realm or discord. Ever. Ban them, report them, do everything you can to get them to rethink their decision to grief.
We do have some evidence, (not a hundred percent sure it was this person.) But based on our evidence, This is the most likely suspect. We have realm logs that tell us who was on, they were on for an hour of the window of destruction. (Just enough time to destroy what they did) They are one of three new people. (That hour was their first hour online) When asked what they did during that hour they said they were playing Skribble io (never heard of this) and they’d get back to me. (Still haven’t)
For the people that do this type of stuff. Grieving, and vandalism of realms and servers. Do you get off on destroying peoples hard work? Is it literally the only thing that you can get out of your pathetic life? Are you so starved of attention that ruining peoples day is necessary. Do you think your mother would be proud? Or your father? Do you think anyone would be proud of you? Well I guarantee no one is proud of you. You are a horrible person, and exactly what is wrong with the world.

Hi everyone, I run a server that uses custom model data along with a resource pack to add custom items that bring more life to our server
As time has gone on we've had over 50 sprites on just one item and i've noticed its been getting more difficult to remember which number 1-50 gives what texture
Does anyone know of a mod that can make this process easier? for ex: a mod that provides a gui that displays all the custom models and allows them to be selected
