I'm a fan of MMA and a lil boxing. The jab is a fundamental technique in fight sports, why isn't it present in battle bots. I assume it's an apples to oranges thing. I'm new to battle bots and engineering/math dumb. I'm picturing a rod that pops out to range out the other bot . Is it too inefficient to piece up another bot?? Is it a friction thing like punching requires feet and not wheels?? Can someone explain this to me like I'm a toddler please.

Hi guys. Tomorrow morning i have my second interview for my n400 , the first interview was a nightmare. I passed writing and speaking. But the history i got 5 out of 10 just a little. I’m so nervous for the interview. That officer in first interview was cold. Super cold. I said how s going. She even not answered , is have any chance the second interview also is same officer ? Pls. I’m so nervous right now.

My girlfriends mother passed away 2020 after a long history of alcohol abuse and depression, she tried to kill herself many times and my girlfriend had to stop her again and again. Her dad was at work so much he didn’t even notice she drank or that she was even remotely ‘sad’. eventually her liver gave in and she died when my girlfriend was 17.
8 months later her dad comes home with this new woman from Newcastle who has really bad anxiety and came from an abusive household supposedly. She moved in 4 months later with her daughter and gradually made sure that any evidence of my girlfriends mother was shoved into my girlfriends room to collect dust.
She made over the entire house so that it was in her beachy style. She works at Woolies so most of the items were bought with her mans card, my girlfriend felt so uncomfortable in the house that she left in 2021 because her dad had ditched her for this new woman.
Fast forward to now and circumstances have caused that we have to stay in their house for a bit until we can get some money and move out. The father that my girlfriend left in 2021 is not the same man that lives in this house, he only sides with his new woman and speaks to me and my girlfriend like we are children. The conditions of us moving is were that we are only guests in ‘his’ house and we have to clean up after them and feed their pets and leave no mess anywhere. I would be fine with this if it weren’t for his girlfriend being a snitch about everything, she fed the dogs before dinner time and then reported that we didn’t feed the dogs. We didn’t say hello to her because she ignores us so she reported we were disrespectful. She makes no attempt to be kind to us and when we try to have a discussion about anything she has ‘anxiety’ and we feel like were going to be kicked out as soon as she gets upset. Her emotions run this house she has well and truly dug her heels into my girlfriend’s dad, he used to be a kind carefree man and now he is quick to anger and cold to his only child and only family member left that is willing to talk to him.
I don’t want her to feel like I am forcing her to cut him off but this man is more of a prison guard than a father and I can see how everything he does is hurting her. We don’t have enough money to move out but at this point I don’t care I would live in my car to be away from this house
How do I handle this situation so that we aren't homeless?

Fair warning, this post is a massive experience dump essay aimed at people considering the challenge. But I hope to see some current participants comment too!
TLDR: 75Hard tested and improved my sense of commitment to my personal goals and wellbeing, improved my confidence and helped me develop mental fortitude beyond what I thought possible, however I am NEVER doing this again. Do a cost benefit analysis FOR YOURSELF, determine your WHY, and then, if everything checks out, DO IT!
First off, stats: Day 69, down 24lbs from SW of 314, 26 yr old female
Now, I’m NOT posting this to spread negativity, but to let everyone who’s considering this know the reality of this challenge beyond the glitz and glamor and clout that comes with it. Make no mistake, there IS a kind of social approval that you encounter when you eventually tell people you’re doing 75Hard (and inevitably must explain what it is). People are impressed, and the closer you get to day 75, the better the optics. I’m not encouraging anyone to become a braggard, I’m just telling the truth about the sociology of it all. I advise you to use that as an additional accountability measure and turn the attention into a source of positive pressure. There were many test days where just the idea of having the people in my life that are ‘in the know’ see me fail pushed me to finish.
When Andy said 75Hard would start off hard, get easy, and then get hard again, he was truly telling the truth. That’s exactly what it’s like.
****Negativity incoming! If you’re not in the headspace for this, skip this section!***\*
In the beginning it was hard because it was all new and I had to restructure my life to fit in the tasks. I also was going from being a completely sedentary office manager (the most walking I ever did was to my car) to working out twice a day. It was, frankly, fresh hell the first 2 weeks or so. Then, I hit starting to ride the high of progress and achievement and it got easy and even a little bit fun competing with myself daily. Now, I’m almost done and the high has died, the sense of achievement has gotten old, and I feel like the days are dragging on and I’m just completing tasks to say I finished them. Around Day 50 I sort of stopped noticing any significant mental growth and I stopped feeling like the tasks were meaningful. This is important for anyone considering 75Hard to know because the second time it ‘gets hard again’ it may not be because of physical strain or even life circumstances. In the end, it might be because it feels like you’ve gained all you can and now you’ve plateaued, but you’re stuck just mindlessly completing tasks made up by someone you’ve never met and probably never will meet, with whom you have no actual connection. Past the elation of pushing your mental barriers and taking your physicality to the next level, there’s a kind of absurdity that sets in that you only escape by focusing on your pride and desire to reach Day 75 and say “I did it!” In some ways, the latter days’ drudgery may be a problem of the mind that you can ONLY escape via your mind. 75Hard is indeed an ironic challenge!
That’s not to say that there aren’t physical issues too, even in the later days. Drinking a gallon of water hasn’t really gotten easier, although it’s nice to have the assurance from my body that I DON’T need that much water daily (even on hot days where I do 2 cardio workouts outside). That much water also crowds out your ability to drink other fluids oftentimes, which is a pain if you’re sick or menstruating and need to lean heavily on teas. 2-a-days have been a nightmare (although that kind of is the point) not just in terms of laundry, but also on my body. You’re LITERALLY unable to take a rest day during this challenge. The closest you’ll get is 2 sessions of yoga a day, but yoga is still WORK, even when you keep it gentle. And in my case, I have somehow acquired a minor ankle injury in the last two weeks, and since we don’t get rest days, my only choices are to stop the challenge or keep going. (And WHY would I stop at day 60!) Then there’s the added hormonal fluctuations you’ll have to endure during the challenge if you’re a woman, some of which are standard, and some of which will be quite literally brought on by the increase in physical activity. Ladies, be warned.
BUT, it’s not all bad, would-be 75Harders!

I’m blown away by how much insight I’ve gotten into myself and how my brain works as well as how my physical stamina has increased in such a short amount of time. It’s proved to me how little time is actually needed to make substantial progress toward a goal and it’s given me hope that I can reverse the damage I’ve done to my body. 75Hard has given me joy in the little things: jumping around my living room to a kpop song and pausing in amazement that I’m not wheezing and gasping for air, running on the treadmill or outside without feeling immediately winded, power walking up hills and no longer being intimidated by stairs, passing by junk food in stores and having ZERO cravings for it, recognizing the difference between a mockingbird’s call and a morning dove’s because I’ve been in nature more than ever, tackling an issue faster with an idea I got from reading. I feel so much more in tune with the rhythms of my body and have the courage to recognize mental blocks and temptations, call them out, and put in the work to move past them. All of that and more is because of 75Hard. And while I have still have a ways to go in unlearning maladaptive habits (can we get a 75Hard for finances please???), for the first time EVER, I feel certain that I’ll crush that goal, just like I’ve crushed 75Hard so far.
If you’re like me and struggle with an ED, you can also leverage 75Hard to tackle that. In my case, I was very strategic in setting my diet as something sustainable that required mindfulness but wasn’t overly restrictive. Because I have serious issues with food, I NEEDED to be careful about the diet I chose and other 75Hard participants with EDs will certainly say the same thing. In my case, I couldn’t eat anything ultra-processed, store-bought food must be as clean as possible (nearly or totally preservative free) and could contain no more than 5g of added sugar, no desserts unless I made them myself, and I could eat out but NEVER at a fast-food restaurant. I also restricted fried chicken specifically, because it’s a problem food for me! Choose whatever you want, but PLEASE make sure it’s sustainable, and if possible, craft your diet with the help of a therapist that already knows about your ED.
Lastly (props if you made it this far), I want to say to everyone considering this challenge that it’s something you should do for you and you alone. If someone were to ask you in the midst of the challenge ‘What’s your why?’ the crux of the answer should be YOU. YOU are your greatest reason to improve your life and strive for better for yourself. YOU are worth any and every investment in service of that cause. If 75Hard is the right course of action, then by all means start today. But give it serious thought and make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons. That’s the only way you’ll avoid failure.

Hi folks, I’m from Asia and will be visiting Rome for the first time. A bit overwhelmed by all the tour packages and reviews on Viator, GetYourGuide etc. Hope to get your thoughts on some things:

1. How insane would the hordes of tourists be this coming week? I’ve been told it’s the start of summer in Europe.
   
2. Are the hop-on-hop-off buses worth it? Which line is the best? I’m considering this on Day 1 for a sweeping overview of the city.
   
3. How long would I be in line for tickets to famous sites? Everyone keeps saying I should book group tours to skip the lines. Is it really that bad to queue on my own?
   
4. Is there an unlimited pass for the subway (24, 48 hours etc.), and if so how much would it cost?
   
5. I’m looking at day trips to Florence, Pisa, and Cascia via bus from Tiburtini Station. Is it reasonable to buy tickets on the spot or best to buy them ahead?

I recently got into FM, playing the mobile version in 2022 and just started playing on PC via the Xbox Game Pass. I struggled at first because there is so much more to learn and digest and I found problems with tactics, instructions and selling players. Are there any tips that much more experienced FM players can tell me in general? Any help is appreciated!

But you can find tons of these. There has been a steady stream of references to this map since its inception, but even before this map was created, the argument has been there all along. People falsely claim that the vast majority of UFO sightings happen in the US, implying that the concept of UFOs must be a cultural issue, not a reality.
However, esri.com states in the description on their video, the data source is NUFORC, which is a US-based, English language UFO information collection org. Of course it will be heavily biased towards English language reports, primarily US, exactly as the map implies.
Previous to this, another variation of this map from Larry Hatch was floating around. Here is the distribution of sightings in Europe.
A post on Ask an Astronomer says:

But to me, it seems a little far-fetched that aliens would recognize national borders, and visit one country much more than another if the two countries are geographically close, and similar in population, population density, and economic development. So a map like this suggests to me that UFO sightings are likely to be a cultural phenomenon.

However, if you actually read the text on the page with the map on it, it says:

Note the disproportionate sightings densities for Britain and France, compared to Germany, Holland and points east. The biggest single reason is that Larry Hatch can't read German, Dutch, Polish etc., introducing a very definite "cultural bias".

That is a very different kind of "cultural bias" than people have been claiming. The actual problem is the language barrier, preventing knowledge of sightings spreading from one country to another, but people have been insisting that it actually means UFOs are all made up nonsense and the result of "UFO culture." But if you actually look for information on UFOs in other countries, the distribution of sightings is surprisingly consistent across all countries that I have found information on.
Numbers comparison between countries:
I have a quick preliminary tally on some of the total unknowns and total sightings per country below, and the US doesn't seem any different from other countries, especially when you adjust for population. It is extremely surprising that the amount of unknowns, and even the percentage of unknowns, is about what you should expect. If anyone has more info, please add in the comments, but there is already enough here to completely debunk esri.com's map.
Total Sightings collected by a government- United States: 12,618 collected during Bluebook era, plus several hundred more in later investigations, so 13,128. France: 1,600. Uruguay 2,100. Denmark 15,000.
Total Unknowns- United States: 701 during Bluebook era, total of 872. Denmark: 200. France: 400. Uruguay: 40. Germany: 500 (not official tally for Germany)
Comparison 1, Unknowns: Uruguay has about 3 and a half million people with 40 unknowns, whereas the US has 330 million+ with 872 unknowns. The US has almost 100 times the amount of people, so if Uruguay had the same population, they would have about 4,000 unknowns. Uruguay actually has far more unknowns than expected when you adjust for population.
Comparison 2, Total Sightings: Uruguay has about 2,100 total sightings, whereas the US has 14,000 collected by a government. The United States has almost 100X the population, so Uruguay should have approximately 200,000 sightings if their populations were similar.
Comparison 3, total sightings and total unknowns- France has 1,600 cases, of which about 400 are unknowns. The population of France is 65 million, or about one fifth the population of the US. This means if they had the same population as the US, France would have 8,000 sightings and 2,000 unknowns, which is very similar to the United States, which has 14,000 sightings and 872 unknowns.
[Note: the numbers are going to be off a little bit because different countries started tracking UFOs later on, different requirements for collection, etc, but it doesn't matter that much. These are ballpark comparisons from what governments have collected]
[Note 2: Between Mufon and Nuforc, they collected maybe 10 times as many reports as the government did for the US. However, if we were to do a fair comparison, we can only compare between countries in which several civilian UFO organizations from that country collected reports over similar periods of time. Restricting to government collected reports is at least a fair way to do it because we have more information. And even if we compared the US civilian-collected numbers to Uruguay's officially collected reports, Uruguay still beats the US when adjusted for population (100k+ versus 200k), and the same for Canada. Germany, a much smaller country, also has way more total civilian collected reports than the US as well.]
UFO cases collected by Governments:
United States (population 330 million, 13,128 UFO cases, 872 unknowns):

France (population 65 million, 1,600 UFO cases, 400 unknowns):

The team is called Geipan. That's a French acronym for Study Group and Information on Non-Identified Aerospace Phenomenon. Its boss is Xavier Passot. Surrounded by dozens of books on UFOs, and stacks of documents, he tells me his mission is to be as transparent as possible about strange sightings and to follow up on each one that his team receives. They publish their results on their website which gets 30,000 hits a month. The team receives, on average, two UFO sightings a day. The department insists an 11-page form is filled out for each one. The idea is to provide details including photographs where possible but also weed out jokers and time-wasters. ... Denmark (population 6 million, 15,000 sightings, 200 Unknowns)

If anyone has any information and citations to contribute, please add in the comments. I know I'm missing a lot of information on various other countries, some of which have had official UFO agencies, but it's difficult for me to locate the information.

So I work at a grocery store, and a while back we had an incident where some creep came into the store and basically threatened and harassed an employee, and his car was spotted out back. So basically they recommended that we all go out the front instead for our safety. It was pretty inconvenient but at first I didn't mind it. But fast forward a few months and I start using the back door again because I found it easier and there was no sightings of the creep since the first incident. The next day when I came in my ASM comes up to me and tells me to use the front door when I leave, and I simply just shrugged it off and kept using the back door. About a week passes, and all of a sudden they made it a rule that no one could go out any exit except the front exit. At this point I didn't care because I found it stupid so I kept going out the back, they tried for a bit to stop me but I really didn't care. So about a month goes by and I get a call from the store's office NOW telling me that the ASM was locking every exit that wasn't the front exit an hour before the store closed. I put in my two weeks for unrelated reasons so I don't care much, but I found it really unnecessary and kinda petty, so I wanted to share it.

I share this with you because, even at the age of 19, I can feel the weight of missed opportunities, leaving me unmotivated and stuck in the cycle of "I'll start tomorrow."
I have a 12 hour screen time. You might be wondering how I manage to spend so much time on my screen, attached to my phone for half of my day. Once upon a time, I was a diligent student, excelling in my studies, driven by the influence of my strict upbringing. While I had occasional issues with procrastination, they were manageable. However, everything changed with the arrival of COVID-19. At 16, my exams were canceled, and secondary school abruptly ended, concluding five years of education on an unexpected day in March. Suddenly, I found myself with six months of complete freedom, and that's when my phone addiction took hold. As I entered sixth form, I attempted to balance my studies while indulging my digital distractions, and for a while, it seemed to work. But gradually, things worsened, my grades suffered, and when the time came to apply to university, my predicted grades fell short of my dream course. This became my first ghost.
Fortunately, I managed to secure a place in another course at a prestigious Russell Group university (akin to the Ivy League in the UK). However, as exam preparation loomed, my phone addiction intensified. Consequently, I received a rejection letter on results day, marking my second ghost
Determined to make amends, I decided to resit the exams while working part-time. Yet, my phone addiction has reached its peak, and I fear that my third ghost is just around the corner. The reason I'm so attached to my phone is simple: If I stop scrolling through TikTok or watching mindless YouTube videos, I'll be forced to confront my thoughts, and I'm afraid to acknowledge how I'm wasting my best years. Conversations with childhood friends who are pursuing their dreams make me feel ill, as I question what I'm truly doing with my life.
But now, it's time for a change. The sun continues to rise every morning, indifferent to my emotions. Time keeps moving forward, and I face a crucial decision. Will I allow the days to slip away, squandering years in idleness, or will I seize the opportunity to redefine my life from this very moment? I refuse to be a mere spectator, standing idly by as more regrets accumulate. There is no greater sorrow than the remorse for unrealized potential.
From now on, I choose to embrace the passing days, to seize each moment, and to pursue my dreams and aspirations. The ghosts of missed opportunities will not haunt me any longer. Had some issues with the Beelink GK55 intermittently losing network connectivity under high bandwidth/downloads occassionally. Tried all the "disable gateway monitoring" options and a few other things, always still seemed to occur.
Finally able to resolve it by just simply updating the realtek module. These Beelink mini-pcs are cheap and plentiful with 4gb and 8gb mem options and a i3 processor, and this specific one uses the Realtek RTL8168 dual gigabit NICS.
Realtek NICS get a bad rep with pfsense and other BSD-based variants... but its simply outdated realtek modules included with PFsense causing the bulk of the issues. There's really nothing wrong with the Realtek NICS at all.
Here's how to update the realtek kernel module: 1---- ssh (ex. ssh [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])) to your pfsense box and choose option 8 for shell line. If using win10/win11, can do this from powershell and/or windows terminal. You'll need admin username/password to login.
2 --- Install the driver using feth command from pfsense shell to download it (whatever latest bsd12 amd64 release of realtek-re-kmod is, using current working link for 196.04 as example below but you can substitue any package link if you find newer one):
fetch -v https://pkg.opnsense.org/FreeBSD:12:amd64/snapshots/latest/All/realtek-re-kmod-196.04.txz
3 --- Install it with:
pkg install -f -y realtek-re-kmod-196.04.txz
\**version 198.00_1 has issues with 2.6.0 pfsense and may not list module when running kldstat command, try using older realtek-re-kmod 197 or 196.04 realtek driver as listed above instead! Version 197 seems to be difficult to obtain as links for it from only a few months ago are no longer up.*
4 --- make sure to edit this in the /boot/loader.conf as this tells the boot loader to load the if_re.ko realtek module at startup:
(vi /boot/loader.conf and add these at bottom and save)
if_re_load="YES"
if_re_name="/boot/modules/if_re.ko"
5 --- Reboot the router with just the "reboot" command
6 --- Use "kldstat" command to confirm you see the realtek module (if_re.ko) in the output:
3 1 0xffffffff83cf9000 d1738 if_re.ko
7 --- All done! No more intermittent network drops, yay! This should also resolve issues for any other mini-pcs/firewall hardware utilizing similare realtek NICS.
Note: The "realtek-re-kmod" packages were removed from pfsense repo for pfsense 2.6.0 (not sure why as they were available in 2.5.0) so thats why we are downloading them with feth instead.

I know self-diagnosing is unhealthy and can lead to all sorts of traumatising thoughts and crippling anxiety. In spite of that, I’m in need of some guidance.
Lately, I have found myself unable to focus on my studies. I get easily distracted, I reread pages, I come to library, 10 hours pass by, you ask me what I did - I went over a single lecture and the rest of the hours I have no idea how the timeflied by. It’s interesting. Same with reading news or books. I am struggling to just effortlessly read the paper without my mind just wandering away. My attention span is… I shouldn’t be even talking about this. Yet, I’m acutely aware of other things, I focus intensely on social dynamics, unspoken gestures, emotions of others - I sense it very well, hence my brain is capable of intense focus…?
I am 25, usually it should have been uncovered at the younger age but I realised that I never cared all that much about studies and just got by without much trying. Hence, there wasn’t a moment where myself or my family could have caught this tendency of mine. I’m still not sure if my studies are just boring or my mind is totally consumed by something else. I’m not sure if it’s an ADHD or again, just brain that is distracted by other things, like being in love can be distracting but it doesn’t mean you have ADHD, right?
On the other note, I have extreme mood swings - from good to bad, I have periods of high and low energy both physical and emotional, one day I’m all hyped up ready to go and othe other day I’m the saddest person alive. What is happening with me?
Side note: I’m utterly sorry if any of my utterance above could be offensive to those who truly have ADHD in case you strongly believe I don’t qualify as having one. I’m not familiar with it very closely yet I am concerned why can’t I just sit down and get sh*t done?
