2023.05.29 01:09 missjeanlouise12 [SELL][US to anywhere]$10 palette section includes indies and mainstream; other indie and mainstream palettes, nail polish, eye and lip products. Brands include Sugarpill, Sigma, MAC, Nars, Chanel, KimChi, Viseart and more

Hello, and welcome to my sale!
I go by timestamps in this thread, so please do not message me until we have come to an agreement about pricing. I accept PayPal Goods and Services and will cover associated fees. I’ll hold items for a couple of hours unless you request differently, and will then move on to the next interested party if there is one. Some items may be posted on multiple platforms and I will usually go by timestamps across all platforms, but do reserve the right to prioritize buyers who will be purchasing multiple items.
Shipping starts at $5.00 for light items within the continental US and will increase with weight and distance. Palettes and nail polish are likely to cost more. I'm happy to ship internationally as long as you understand that postage can be costly. I do look for the best rates, domestic or international, and I ship quickly. Unfortunately, postage rates have increased and there’s only so much I can do. No minimum purchase.
I have marked a lot of things down significantly, including many $10 palettes, indie shadows in the $2-$6 range, and cut prices on everything. I can’t say for sure how much more flexibility I can offer, but try making me an offer rather than closing out and moving on!
I’ve added swatch pictures that I found online for many of the products that have glimmer, shimmer or shifts. Hopefully this helps show how beautiful and unique these products are!

2023.05.27 17:13 dovzinia ION Demi-Permanent Developer

Hi There! I’ve ask Sally workers & received many comments back on what developer to use from 10, to 20 for my 3NB ION Demi.
Currently, when I use the 10 developer to 1:1 ratio with the dye, my roots are not dark enough (and I only do a root touch up). What am I doing wrong exactly? Should I go back to a 20 developer? Any suggestions what to do? Thanks in advanced!
Side note: I used Demi because it does fade eventually beautifully and blends with my natural color.

2023.05.27 04:48 mostreliablebottle If Best Picture was decided by Critics Polls (1940-2021)

Roughly 7 years ago u/TheGreatZiegfeld did an experiment of a post to determine what the best films of each year would be from 1940 to 2011 (before the 2012 S&S polls).
With the recently updated TSPDT and the 2022 S&S list, I decided to do the same from 1940 to 2021 regarding what critics thought were the best of each year.
Keep in mind this is all from a critics' poll, not from one specific critic's list. Also no short films or miniseries (meaning no Twin Peaks or Meshes of the Afternoon), as well as those from 2022 and beyond because of the last S&S poll.

2023.05.27 04:27 flovvey Part time job asking for documentation of second job (internship)? And suddenly says there is a rule about having to work weekends?

Manager at PART TIME job at Sally’s beauty says that it is required for me to work at least one weekend day (Friday or Saturday) every week when it was previously communicated that I can only work 3 days a week (Tuesday’s, Wednesday, thursdays) due to my internship. I literally cannot work outside the days I provided her due to my internship! I’ve communicated to her of my lack of availability on both those days she said I “was required” to work and that I am not able to because of my second job; in response she said she must have documentation of my other job?
I’ve been trying to look at California labor laws to see if this is even legal of her to make this request. I agreed to working THREE days, not 4 as my schedule literally does not allow it. In my understanding of a part time job, it’s literally a way to work with a certain/flexible schedule to do other obligations, even second jobs!! Am I crazy or wrong and what the fuck do I say? Is she just intimidating me to work extra?

2023.05.27 04:07 brosesa [complete][80K][upmarket contemporary romance] Arcadia

Hi all, I received a (loose) R&R from an agent in March and have been reworking a new draft since. I’ve shuffled things around and added new scenes etc so it really needs some fresh eyes!
Summary: Twenty-something June has never been in a relationship before she meets River. River is almost perfect. He's also deeply monogamous. But with zero relationship history and bubbling resentment over River’s apathy for the climate crisis, June wonders if she might find better than almost perfect. Electric conversation with political satirist and teenage crush, Andy, opens June’s eyes to the possibilities of non-monogamy, rallied by a simmering meeting-of-minds over climate politics that June would never have with River. But the more people June dates, the more she misses River and the more she wonders if he'll ever text her back. Somewhere between River, Andy, and the thick of summer wildfire smoke, June begins to realise it’s not easy curating the utopian milk and honey kind of love she’s always wanted. Between figuring out her own desires, navigating the mores of technological courtship, and squeezing her political ideals in too, the perfect relationship might not look how she expected it to at all.
Comps: NORMAL PEOPLE (Sally Rooney); CLEOPATRA AND FRANKENSTEIN (Coco Mellors); BEAUTIFUL WORLD, WHERE ARE YOU (Sally Rooney); GHOSTS (Dolly Alderton); SEEING OTHER PEOPLE (Diana Reid); SORROW AND BLISS (Meg Mason)
Sample: June and River hadn’t known each other long before she said to him that they’d probably seen one another in New Caledonia as teenagers, like island-crossed lovers. She knew he’d been in New Caledonia the same time that she was, she thirteen, he fifteen, because she’d seen the photos online. It was a deliciously dirty ritual of modern day courtship – boy meets girl, boy and girl connect on social media, boy and girl deep dive into each other’s entire online history, including those unflattering tagged photos that slipped by and the juvenile high school wall posts. She thought it romantic that they might have glanced upon one another buying a can of juice at a sandy roadside trailer, completely naive that the sweaty awkward teenager (she chubby and ruddy-skinned, he gaunt and sullen) standing across the searing bitumen was someone who may break their heart just ten years later.
Triggers: there are some sexy scenes/some spice
What I’m looking for: -The chapters are divided between two POV’s. Do you find it helpful/necessary to have the name of the character in the header of the chapter, or would you prefer it removed? Likewise, did you notice any instances of ‘head-hopping’ (swapping POV within a single scene/chapter)? -Do you feel there was any or too much ‘info-dumping’ (i.e large bodies of expository text/recaps) that could be better integrated into the present-day narrative? -What is your opinion on the plot? Is there enough meat and momentum to the plot? If no, where could you see improvement? (i.e. more content on solo River or solo June / more content on their day-to-day lives / more content on other characters in their lives, etc.)
Reciprocity: pretty pressed for time atm but if it’s make or break I can swap for a similar length/genre.
Timeline: within one month

As the final stubborn sheets of frost melt away across Massina, the fresh air of rebirth has begun to glide across our blossoming Empire to tickle our collective senses. Yes, my faithful, feel free to bask in our great progress. For the seeds we sowed so dutifully these last few months have begun to take shape and bloom into something quite beautiful. Do you see it? Do you smell it? Can you taste it? Join me now as I elucidate and allow you to feel it.
OG Armor ?
The Colosseum will continue to expand its offering in the next few weeks and add several new thrills. A few months ago, I advised you to try and make some new friends and also strengthen your existing bonds. Our team-based modes will be expanding and will soon allow you to form groups before engaging. This will allow all of you to work together and tackle your opponents more strategically. Our gamesmen have also improved our tactical communication systems (team voice chat!) in the Colosseum so you can coordinate your strategy AND purposefully pronounce each other's names wrong too (I’m talking to you Pee-Ray)!
Sadly, many of your friends will still be killed before your eyes… But, this is when our gameplay starts to really flex its social muscle - What team will rise to glory? I cannot wait to see the rivalries emerge next month!
TPS vs Wardens
And what better Champion family to enter this type of pack mentality than the feral Fenrir! In the blink of an eye, these cunning warriors will be slashing their way into the active fight roster in a few weeks and shredding into their opponents’ collective flesh. And, if my fightmasters are correct, the mighty Darulk and deadly Sadari are not far behind.
Upcoming Families: Saadari - Fenrir - Darulk
But, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention this last little tidbit… The Vault of Carnage free-for-all mode is also gearing up for its maiden voyage of insanity. Yes, it is insane… As you will all come to see. Twenty brave Champions will enter this spectacle, all pursuing the call of glory and riches in the next month!
https://youtu.be/bPsoYNNOeQs
Have you wondered why it is named the Vault of Carnage, yet? You are all clearly the carnage, but yes… the Vault is literal and it will be placed in the center of the Colosseum. And, as I am most generous, I will shower the field of battle with tickets. Those of you lucky enough to survive the chaos long enough can collect and transport those rewards to the Vault and lock them safely away to earn them, regardless if you are hacked to pieces afterwards… pretty fun, right? But, don’t despair, the sole survivor of each engagement will receive an additional bonus on their collected winnings!
  • Reach the Vault at the center to deposit your tickets. Beware, everyone else wants them.
  • The more tickets you have, the slower you’ll go.
  • Watch others weep as they drop all their tickets on the ground like a Champion Pinata.
  • Wield the legendary Knockout King or fall into temptation by biting into Pineapple Pizza to generate endless Fury.
  • Don’t overstay your welcome– the Emperor’s archers will make quick work of you after a while.
As the bodies of the fallen begin to stack up, it is time to re-open the Death Quarter of our dear city. If the sweet scent of Spring is too joyful for you to bear, you will soon be able to sashay your way through all the fanfare these fetid streets have to offer. Not happy with your Maestro’s current look? Visit the Little Barbershop of Horrors and clean yourself up a bit!
The Death Quarter
Just make sure to stay away from the sewer grates in the area, as more reports continue to pour in regarding a monstrous crocammit living below the city there! Apparently, there are imbeciles greedy enough to go down into those shit-infested tunnels looking for treasure– and they are never heard from again. Perhaps, some of our braver Champions might be inclined to work together to find and dispatch this creature…
The Old Sally PVE Boss
Our glorious rise shall continue throughout this season my Champions! See you all in Massina!

Theosis Westmarch Campaign 5E DND Character Summary 3, Hook 5: The Coral Pearl
The following story takes place in 5E Westmarches Style DND campaign world with some local friends. Its written from the perspective of my character Sonar, now a level 4 half elf bard. Constructive feedback is much appreciated!!
Cornelius needs a coral-colored pearl. He seems hesitant to share what he needs it for, but is willing to pay handsomely for it. His last piece of advice as you head out: Follow the song. Head to the beach and see what you can find.
Townsfolk! Gather round! We have again returned to our precious Himala, bearing grand gifts…but tales of tragedy. A swampy siren’s song was sung against us in a charming voice, rivaling the oral skill even I, Sonar your Bard, could only hope one day to dream of weilding…
But enough of dreams, onto the action! Tonights Champions!!
Jack the Hare, rouge of a rabbit, hops fast into the fray!
Beatia our tank, she fights with such majestic might!
Lusala the crafty wizard, electric fireballs laid low many a terrible foe!
And some half elf bard somebody probably once knew.
We all set out with the rising sun, south into the swamp. The day was bright and our song was merry! Until foolish Sonar, realizing he’d left a lute back at town, spoke up as the siren began to sing…
..its beautiful charm! Sonars half elf ears had never heard such a song in its entirety before-only samplings of its simply resplendent notes. He watched as his party fell under its charming spell-only the half orc Beatia awake and aware enough not to fall under its magical trap. Jack and Lusala however, begun to sally forward onto the sandy beach towards the crystally shoreline.
The water sparkled before us as shimmery glass, and erupting forth from the water there she was! The siren (see screenshot)! Her dark hair flowed gently down her shoulders and back and, seemed to become one with the water..and Sonar boldly spoke: “We’re here for the Coral Pearl! Take this Pod of Uhm in fair exchange!”
The waves of the ocean rose…and crashed down upon our party! We rolled initiative as several mighty merfolk strode forth, golden tridents glistening beneath the hot swampy sun….
Fireball! Charge! Our half orc wizard and barbarian struck so swiftly it was as if they fought as one! Jack shouted a spell, and the mighty mane of lion roared! The merfolk stuttered a moment, then struck back. Beatia would suffer any blow ever intended to harm our party, but these trident attacks landed against our Jack instead! She roared in retaliation, and rolled a nat20 critical to bring a merfolk warrior to its knee’s, ready to suffer its fate.
Your Sonar saw another opportunity and sung! Magical notes strummed forth from fabled viola, and the merman fell under a furry of song! Sonar’s first ever killing blow against an enemy landed true, such a rare moment for a bard! Inspiration!!
As the merfolk adjusted position around us, our wizard targeted their caster-a blue robed merman who had been twisting a terrible fog around the battlefield. Lusala’s intention was clear- dispel the fog that hampered our own attacks and, show these creatures her own powerful magic! Lightning breath poured forth from our half orc wizard's open mouth and engulfed two merfolk! Their caster stumbled back, and, the fog begun to clear.
As the tide of battle turned in our favor, it was not without great cost. These merfolk were terrible foes, their golden tridents reached much further than our own powerful weapons-now bathed red with the blood of our wizard and rouge…did we remember to bring a healer tonight?
Of course we did! Sonar the Bard is here! As the GM tried his best to incapacitate our characters, his motives were made clear: he’s really trying to kill us! Alas we begun to face every DnD players greatest fear, the dreaded death saving throw….
Jack was first to roll, having been skewered alive by the ferocious assaults..his first critically failed, such woe!
Lusala was next, however, before the GM was able to call for the roll..your bard cried out! One health point was all it took, and our wizard arose with fireball in hand ready to fight on!
Our tank! Our tank! All hail the glorious Beatia Ironside! Nary a blow had even grazed her mighty frame all battle, and the blood lost by her companions had only served to fuel the berserker rage present with every one of her graceful swings, strong steps, and powerful blows! She had somehow managed to tied up a merman with her rope and raced across the beach to save her falling party members! It takes more than music to turn the tide of a battle, and Beatia had arrived prepared. Another killing blow! one merman remaining…victory nearly in our grasp!
Sonar shouted to the siren..
“As you wished, you’ve beheld our might, test now our hearts if you dare!”
The siren struck, a blinding lightning bolt! With no time to even speak, Jacks bloodied body illuminated before us, and fell limp in the sand. The damage was done, our companion lay dead…...
but lo, appeared the coral pearl!
It was offered to us on a silvery clam, and our wizard Lusala laid claim to the prize. The combat encounter ended and the discussion begun….what to do with the clearly powerful coral pearl and, with our fallen rouge.
An eternity seemed to pass as we debated…..
Lusala remarked on Jacks 'courage' and, proposed we bury him where he fell. Sonar could sense Beatia’s half orc blood boil-a party member should never be slain let alone left behind she believed! The half elf bard proposed we use the power of our Pods of Uhm- surely 3 combined could revive our fallen friend? Our wizard knew the material and immaterial cost of such a sacrifice 3 pods would be, and placed a single pod in Jacks mouth..we waited with baited breath….
…but not for long! A glowing roots erupted from Jack's rabbit ears, buried into the beach, and started to grow! Beatia heaved our fallen friend from his resting place, intending to carry his broken body back home to our cleric…maybe Adele could save truly him. The roots snapped from Jack's ears, but a remained buried in the sand.We begun our sad march home. Lusala had carefully tucked away the pearl deep in her pack…it had come at such a cost we all agreed- find out more about this magical pearl before we just give it back to Cornelius.
Sonar’s song on the long trek home was somber, a ballad in honor of a fallen new friend.
RIP JACK.
“Tell me what you hate about me
Whatever it is, I'm sorry
Yeah, yeah, yeah
I know I can be dramatic
But coulda swore our party had it
Yeah, yeah, yeah
We’re coming home with a broken heart
I guess that sometimes party's fall apart.”

Thanks for reading! Another grand adventure in the books, time for this bards short rest. Sonar will return with more songs after this upcoming holiday!

ps. I remembered an image! screenshot of our roll20 final moment.

2023.05.24 23:06 Sharingline The munstah in the closet pt. 1 (by: u/Sharingline)

Hey there! I decided to write out one of my story ideas! This story will be in multiple parts, as the story is LONG. This will be my first ever textpost so wish me luck and let me how I do, Thanks!

"Mawy am gon be bestest mummah!" Exclaimed a pink unicorn mare with a cotton candy blur mane. She was due to have her foals any day now.
Sam was the owner of said fluffy, along with 2 other mares; Sally, a sky blue Pegasus with a dark blue mane who recently reached fluffy maturity, and Annie, a khacki earthie with a dirt brown mane who had her foals a few days ago. She had a decent batch of 4 foals, a red unicorn colt, a blue Pegasus filly, a green eaelrthie colt and a brown alicorn colt. Sam could sell the other 3 for atheist something but the alicorn would be better here as a future stallion.
Sam watched on as Annie's foals wiggled about, cheeping and chirping away, "dewe dewe bebbehs, mummah hewe" "CHIRP! CHEEP! PEEP!" the alicon foal cried as it was starving and it hadn't eaten in forever (5 minutes). Annie grabbed her crying babbeh and put it on her teat, greedily sucking to get as much milk as it could hold. The other 3 snuggled together to form a fluff pile, sleeping away. Sally was by herself playing with blocks from the toy basket in the safe room and Mary was singing horribly out of tune to her 'tummeh babbehs'.
Sam stepped into the safe room and sat infront of Annie and her foals. "Hewwo daddeh, wan see babbehs?" Annie asked, fully trusting Sam with the sole purpose in her life. Without hesitation Sam snatched the alicorn from its mummahs teat, it begins crying and pleading to be put down "siwwy babbeh, dats daddeh, he no munstah he bestest daddeh ebah!" Annie's words fall on deaf ears as the alicorn continues to cry now in the center of Sam's palm. "PEEP! CHEEP! PEEP!" the helpless animal squirms and wiggles, attempting to free itself from whatever is keeping it from its precious milk! Sam looks on at its pathetic attemps. "Annie, do you have a bestest babbeh?" Sam asked, sounding cold and dead, "no! Dere no bestes babbehs" Annie responded confidently, knowing full well what happens if there was one. "Good, I'm just making sure so the monster doesn't get your beautiful babies" Sam says, Annie looking over to the closet in the corner of the safe room. "Because you do know what happens to bestest babbehs right?" Sam continues, "Yes daddeh! Annie kno." Putting the foal back down and putting it back on Annie's teat, Sam gets up "good, glad you know" and begins to exit the safe room.
Looking back around the safe room Sally isn't present, Sam quickly glances around and finds her at his feet, looking up. "Daddeh, can sawwy hab mo' nummies? Hab tummies owies." Picking Sally up and looking to their food bowl it's evident it's empty. "Alright Sally girl, but can you keep an eye on Mary for me?" Sam asks Sally " Ou yes! Sawwy will wat mawy!" Squirming around trying to get free from her daddehs clutches.
Sam puts Sally down and she wadles toward Mary and goes to get their food and water. While doing so, Sam thinks over what he does as a breeder and if he should change any tatic, Sam has been fluffy breeding for a little over a month now, and Annie's batch were his first ever set. He plans on making them fit and healthy, litter trained and all. Which shouldn't be too hard he thought. He lived in a secluded place, the nearest house is a 15 minute drive away. And on top of that there's an abandoned junkyard nearby for the fluffies to play in and keep ferals out with its scary stature. In total Sam has 3 mares and 3 stallions, but keeps them in seperate safe rooms to play it safe and gave the stallions 'Enfie pals' so they wouldn't be rough with the mares. He keeps them separate to be safe and let's stallions see their young as a privilege. Grabbing the scoop of kibble and glass of water he sets back off to the mares safe room when suddenly,
"BIGGEST POOPIES!!"
(End of pt. 1) I'll post part 2 later today and part 3 is still in the works.

2023.05.24 06:27 TheNextWorstThing Eyes

To start - normally, I have no problem looking people in the eye. I usually make it a point to look people in the eye when we're talking. HOWEVER, when my fight-or-flight is on, and I'm already scared or anxious, any pair eyes will send me into full panic. That painting my mom gave me of Jack and Sally? Horrifying under the right circumstances. My girlfriend's beautiful blue eyes, which I normally get lost in? It causes a literal screaming terror when the vibe is just right/wrong. It's like I'm sure something is watching me that is not the thing to which the eyes physically belong. Like something is watching me and when I look it in the eye, we will know each other for what we really are and it will be the end of my mortal fucking existence in a way that I can't imagine but am terrified of. What is this and how the fuck do I make it stop. Please.

2023.05.24 00:11 DiscombobulatedBig40 Just an observation

“This is Sally-Anne. My Carrie, so to speak.” - that was a really beautiful piece of writing there.
They could have had Carrie make a huge scene/theatrics/histrionics, etc. which is what we all kind of (secretly) wanted but they chose to show some grace.
He OBVIOUSLY had a thing for women with black hair though 🧐

2023.05.23 23:50 itscelinaa HiColor Black Onyx

Hi, I recently purchased the black onyx HiColor dye but I didn’t even find out until two days later (I haven’t dyed it yet) that I need to use a developer and also that it can only be used on virgin hair because the lady at Sally’s beauty never told me when she recommended it to me. I have “black” salon dyed hair but it turned out blackish-purple so I was wanting a color to put on top of it to make it more of a true black. Would this not work since it says I should have virgin hair and find a different dye? Or should I just get a 10 Vol developer since I’ve seen people say to use that instead of 20-30? Thank you for the help
