2023.05.26 17:15 Arkhameus An official communication from the Emperor - April
![]() | As the final stubborn sheets of frost melt away across Massina, the fresh air of rebirth has begun to glide across our blossoming Empire to tickle our collective senses. Yes, my faithful, feel free to bask in our great progress. For the seeds we sowed so dutifully these last few months have begun to take shape and bloom into something quite beautiful. Do you see it? Do you smell it? Can you taste it? Join me now as I elucidate and allow you to feel it. submitted by Arkhameus to ChampionsIOscholars [link] [comments] OG Armor ? The Colosseum will continue to expand its offering in the next few weeks and add several new thrills. A few months ago, I advised you to try and make some new friends and also strengthen your existing bonds. Our team-based modes will be expanding and will soon allow you to form groups before engaging. This will allow all of you to work together and tackle your opponents more strategically. Our gamesmen have also improved our tactical communication systems (team voice chat!) in the Colosseum so you can coordinate your strategy AND purposefully pronounce each other's names wrong too (I’m talking to you Pee-Ray)! Sadly, many of your friends will still be killed before your eyes… But, this is when our gameplay starts to really flex its social muscle - What team will rise to glory? I cannot wait to see the rivalries emerge next month! TPS vs Wardens And what better Champion family to enter this type of pack mentality than the feral Fenrir! In the blink of an eye, these cunning warriors will be slashing their way into the active fight roster in a few weeks and shredding into their opponents’ collective flesh. And, if my fightmasters are correct, the mighty Darulk and deadly Sadari are not far behind. Upcoming Families: Saadari - Fenrir - Darulk But, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention this last little tidbit… The Vault of Carnage free-for-all mode is also gearing up for its maiden voyage of insanity. Yes, it is insane… As you will all come to see. Twenty brave Champions will enter this spectacle, all pursuing the call of glory and riches in the next month! https://youtu.be/bPsoYNNOeQs Have you wondered why it is named the Vault of Carnage, yet? You are all clearly the carnage, but yes… the Vault is literal and it will be placed in the center of the Colosseum. And, as I am most generous, I will shower the field of battle with tickets. Those of you lucky enough to survive the chaos long enough can collect and transport those rewards to the Vault and lock them safely away to earn them, regardless if you are hacked to pieces afterwards… pretty fun, right? But, don’t despair, the sole survivor of each engagement will receive an additional bonus on their collected winnings!
The Death Quarter Just make sure to stay away from the sewer grates in the area, as more reports continue to pour in regarding a monstrous crocammit living below the city there! Apparently, there are imbeciles greedy enough to go down into those shit-infested tunnels looking for treasure– and they are never heard from again. Perhaps, some of our braver Champions might be inclined to work together to find and dispatch this creature… The Old Sally PVE Boss Our glorious rise shall continue throughout this season my Champions! See you all in Massina! https://preview.redd.it/gems8pugh82b1.png?width=631&format=png&auto=webp&s=b0cb8875db9ea93254fe2c08e1fbd6b8d118f6c5 |
2023.05.26 08:15 Charming-Focus-1512 Theosis Westmarch Campaign 5E DND Character Summary 3, Hook 5: The Coral Pearl
![]() | The following story takes place in 5E Westmarches Style DND campaign world with some local friends. Its written from the perspective of my character Sonar, now a level 4 half elf bard. Constructive feedback is much appreciated!! submitted by Charming-Focus-1512 to u/Charming-Focus-1512 [link] [comments] Cornelius needs a coral-colored pearl. He seems hesitant to share what he needs it for, but is willing to pay handsomely for it. His last piece of advice as you head out: Follow the song. Head to the beach and see what you can find. Townsfolk! Gather round! We have again returned to our precious Himala, bearing grand gifts…but tales of tragedy. A swampy siren’s song was sung against us in a charming voice, rivaling the oral skill even I, Sonar your Bard, could only hope one day to dream of weilding… But enough of dreams, onto the action! Tonights Champions!! Jack the Hare, rouge of a rabbit, hops fast into the fray! Beatia our tank, she fights with such majestic might! Lusala the crafty wizard, electric fireballs laid low many a terrible foe! And some half elf bard somebody probably once knew. We all set out with the rising sun, south into the swamp. The day was bright and our song was merry! Until foolish Sonar, realizing he’d left a lute back at town, spoke up as the siren began to sing… ..its beautiful charm! Sonars half elf ears had never heard such a song in its entirety before-only samplings of its simply resplendent notes. He watched as his party fell under its charming spell-only the half orc Beatia awake and aware enough not to fall under its magical trap. Jack and Lusala however, begun to sally forward onto the sandy beach towards the crystally shoreline. The water sparkled before us as shimmery glass, and erupting forth from the water there she was! The siren (see screenshot)! Her dark hair flowed gently down her shoulders and back and, seemed to become one with the water..and Sonar boldly spoke: “We’re here for the Coral Pearl! Take this Pod of Uhm in fair exchange!” The waves of the ocean rose…and crashed down upon our party! We rolled initiative as several mighty merfolk strode forth, golden tridents glistening beneath the hot swampy sun…. Fireball! Charge! Our half orc wizard and barbarian struck so swiftly it was as if they fought as one! Jack shouted a spell, and the mighty mane of lion roared! The merfolk stuttered a moment, then struck back. Beatia would suffer any blow ever intended to harm our party, but these trident attacks landed against our Jack instead! She roared in retaliation, and rolled a nat20 critical to bring a merfolk warrior to its knee’s, ready to suffer its fate. Your Sonar saw another opportunity and sung! Magical notes strummed forth from fabled viola, and the merman fell under a furry of song! Sonar’s first ever killing blow against an enemy landed true, such a rare moment for a bard! Inspiration!! As the merfolk adjusted position around us, our wizard targeted their caster-a blue robed merman who had been twisting a terrible fog around the battlefield. Lusala’s intention was clear- dispel the fog that hampered our own attacks and, show these creatures her own powerful magic! Lightning breath poured forth from our half orc wizard's open mouth and engulfed two merfolk! Their caster stumbled back, and, the fog begun to clear. As the tide of battle turned in our favor, it was not without great cost. These merfolk were terrible foes, their golden tridents reached much further than our own powerful weapons-now bathed red with the blood of our wizard and rouge…did we remember to bring a healer tonight? Of course we did! Sonar the Bard is here! As the GM tried his best to incapacitate our characters, his motives were made clear: he’s really trying to kill us! Alas we begun to face every DnD players greatest fear, the dreaded death saving throw…. Jack was first to roll, having been skewered alive by the ferocious assaults..his first critically failed, such woe! Lusala was next, however, before the GM was able to call for the roll..your bard cried out! One health point was all it took, and our wizard arose with fireball in hand ready to fight on! Our tank! Our tank! All hail the glorious Beatia Ironside! Nary a blow had even grazed her mighty frame all battle, and the blood lost by her companions had only served to fuel the berserker rage present with every one of her graceful swings, strong steps, and powerful blows! She had somehow managed to tied up a merman with her rope and raced across the beach to save her falling party members! It takes more than music to turn the tide of a battle, and Beatia had arrived prepared. Another killing blow! one merman remaining…victory nearly in our grasp! Sonar shouted to the siren.. “As you wished, you’ve beheld our might, test now our hearts if you dare!” The siren struck, a blinding lightning bolt! With no time to even speak, Jacks bloodied body illuminated before us, and fell limp in the sand. The damage was done, our companion lay dead…... but lo, appeared the coral pearl! It was offered to us on a silvery clam, and our wizard Lusala laid claim to the prize. The combat encounter ended and the discussion begun….what to do with the clearly powerful coral pearl and, with our fallen rouge. An eternity seemed to pass as we debated….. Lusala remarked on Jacks 'courage' and, proposed we bury him where he fell. Sonar could sense Beatia’s half orc blood boil-a party member should never be slain let alone left behind she believed! The half elf bard proposed we use the power of our Pods of Uhm- surely 3 combined could revive our fallen friend? Our wizard knew the material and immaterial cost of such a sacrifice 3 pods would be, and placed a single pod in Jacks mouth..we waited with baited breath…. …but not for long! A glowing roots erupted from Jack's rabbit ears, buried into the beach, and started to grow! Beatia heaved our fallen friend from his resting place, intending to carry his broken body back home to our cleric…maybe Adele could save truly him. The roots snapped from Jack's ears, but a remained buried in the sand.We begun our sad march home. Lusala had carefully tucked away the pearl deep in her pack…it had come at such a cost we all agreed- find out more about this magical pearl before we just give it back to Cornelius. Sonar’s song on the long trek home was somber, a ballad in honor of a fallen new friend. RIP JACK. “Tell me what you hate about me Whatever it is, I'm sorry Yeah, yeah, yeah I know I can be dramatic But coulda swore our party had it Yeah, yeah, yeah We’re coming home with a broken heart I guess that sometimes party's fall apart.” Thanks for reading! Another grand adventure in the books, time for this bards short rest. Sonar will return with more songs after this upcoming holiday! ps. I remembered an image! screenshot of our roll20 final moment. https://preview.redd.it/zptwcf2yd42b1.png?width=2408&format=png&auto=webp&s=da8aa2eaf5dea2890bb01f629b474f210342c80d |
