Indianapolis took another step towards constructing a new hotel in the Pan Am Plaza. Local ABC affiliate news story:
Indianapolis City-County Council votes yes to $625M funding of Signia Hotel
Bottom line: The city has been approved to borrow $625 million in bonds for the project.
For locals, there are controversies - Indianapolis Business Journal story on concerns - but 800 new rooms next to the ICC and Crowne Plaza would be a great thing for us overnight attendees from out of town. That hotel would be the second biggest one downtown next to the JW, and presumably it would eventually be Skywalk connected too, given it's location.
Drawback: This is evidently still firmly in the planning stage. I found no real estimates of the start of construction, much less the hotel opening. And let's be honest: There's a lot that can derail this.
But if it goes through, 800 more rooms, likely connected, would be a damn good thing.

2023.04.27 19:21 ElMondoH This will help traffic in August - One major construction project is complete, Indianapolis "North Split" will soon be fully open.

Hi all. This is easier to see on a map than it is to explain, but the re-routing and reconstruction of the I-70/I-65 "North Split" is finished, and the interstate is set to be fully open soon. As in by this weekend (April 29th, weather permitting).

Who would this affect?

If you're coming in from the East on I-70 westbound, this will affect you.
If you're coming up from the south on I-65 northbound, and you are going north beyond the I-70/I-65 South Split on the southeast corner of downtown, this will affect you.

It's so much easier to see this on the above linked map.
How will this affect you? The exits have been redesigned, and traffic should now be running at full interstate speeds. I'm not sure on all the details yet, but the next time I'm up through Indianapolis, I'll try and drive that area.
Bottom line is not to panic. It will be different, but one of the stated purposes of the project is to make taking exits easier without having to weave through lanes to get to the right place. So bottom line: The completion of the construction should (knock on wood) make things easier and better for those of us travelling into Indy.

...a few other people who I feel may be getting unjust criticism. Imo.
ISP says new audio, video and sketch shows Delphi killer (wrtv.com)
On the same day ISP released the BG video, they also released the YGS. Why is this important to remember? Because if you put yourself in his family and friend's shoes, as well as his co-workers, and even the DNR officer, its easy to see why they may have dismissed him as a suspect. They may have seen the video first and thought it may be him, then see the sketch which to most people I think looks like a guy in his twenties, and breath a huge sigh of relief. I dont see how or why people continue to make remarks that his family should have known considering this chain of events.
Also, this case isn't directly related but it seems apt.
