2023.05.29 03:16 Green_Awareness_925 Bike buying help
Heyo guys I'm thinking of getting a used bike mostly for taking strolls around the neighborhood and park to help build muscle and lose weight. I'm not looking at new bikes right now and want to get something that's reliable enough to get me out and back home so I've been looking at CL and Facebook for affordable bikes, don't mind if they're vintage which a lot of the ones in my budget are. A couple caught my eye, one needs new tires and tubes and the other seems fine for the most part. Any help would be appreciated.
The first on CL looks all right body wise and I don't mind fixing up the wheels or that its a single speed, helps that I'm tall and seems like the perfect size

2023.05.29 02:36 HarrisonRyeGraham If you know what you want, hunt Facebook marketplace until you get it for a steal. Patience is so rewarding
I just got 6 stackable cast iron pans of various sizes PLUS a flat skillet for $40 today that have only been used twice. Been wanting them for camping this summer.
Im sure this isn’t news to most people here, but I’m not exaggerating. You can know what you want down to the brand and year and sometimes even color, and you’ll find it within 6 months on Facebook marketplace if you check every day.
I’m constantly seeing kitchen aid mixers for $50-70. I’ve also seen a lady near me selling her entire collection of Le Crueset cookware for $120 apiece ($450-800 new) It’s insane.
Things like garage freezers, guitars, kayaks, entertainment units, whatever…if people don’t get takers they’ll give it away for free, just because they’re moving and just need to get rid of it.
Know what you want, be patient, and always be looking and you’ll never have to buy anything new that you don’t need right away.

2023.05.29 02:28 kat_earnshaw Pothos and Dieffenbachia Help
| I received this pot of mixed Golden Pothos and Dieffenbachia from Facebook marketplace. I’ve had it for about 2 months at this point, and I’ve had several leaves die. It’s made me nervous that I am doing something wrong, as the plant was thriving when I received it. I’ve tried the plant in multiple different sun locations. For awhile it received very little sunlight, but I moved it about a month ago to a window that has sheer curtains in front of it. After more leaves died, I moved it today to where the picture shows: in direct sunlight in a west facing window. I water it only when it seems completely dry (I usually can tell by weight and the dryness of the dirt). The few times I have watered it, I have soaked it through until water drains out the bottom of the pot. I have not fertilized it not, nor I have I repotted it. All help is appreciated! Thank you! submitted by kat_earnshaw to plantclinic [link] [comments] |
2023.05.29 02:08 Striking_Win_9410 If you know what's good for you, do not rent a room in this shit house
Hi all!
New to Reddit but exploring all the options in order to be able to save people from living in the same shit-hole I do, with an equally shitty landlord.
Due to privacy and potential legal reasons I won't be naming the landlord in question specifically, or our specific address for our own privacy. However, I will say that it's a house on Hazel street and from bits of information shared here I'm sure you could find posts on the internet for renting this place. The posts for these rooms to rent in this house are on Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, and
Rentals.ca to name a few.
Recently (Saturday), our landlord had organized a day to come into our house. He said he was doing an inspection and unfortunately my current roommate and I were not going to be home. I had a friend come over during the time frame he gave us as a "babysitter" of the house. This way she could watch in case he breaks any of the legal rules that protect tenants (which he has done before). After keeping in communication with said individual all day, she relayed that he opened and went into our rooms, and the things in the common areas of ours personally were moved around (landlords are not allowed to touch tenant belongings). Neither of these things are allowed under RTA. He lied about coming to the house for an inspection and in fact was bringing over two guys for showing the property (this is an all girls house and when we signed were told it would remain as such). He just barely gave us 24 hour notice (allowed) but made too broad of a window (6 hours - not allowed, needs to be more specific), and lied about the reasoning and said it was an inspection and instead brought people over when we aren't home. While he is allowed to show rooms he broke a few rules in doing so.
I know it seems like what's the big deal? But this landlord has illegally entered my room before and has been caught illegally entering other rooms in the house. Things in my room have moved, been turned off, and even gone missing when he was there in the house and nobody else was home. He has also attempted on many occasions to manipulate the ladies living in this all-female house, and tried illegally raising the rent. Many of these women are out of province or international students. He knows these people are unaware of their rights and has lied to many of them on the phone (as we recorded it and have proof) about how much he can raise it (illegal amount) and tried threatening them. Finally he had to face the fact that we knew our rights and it wasn't happening. Two of us 3 tenants have moved but after living here one year (I've been here 3), I'm the only one left who pays month to month at my original price of $600. He has phoned me and threatened and harassed me in order to get me to leave and told me many times he would get rid of me if he could so he can raise the rent of the room to someone else. He's now trying to rent these rooms for $850. They're garbage. He uses photos from when he first got the house and they are nothing like they are in person. He has also put a bunch of illegal things in the renting contract and people sign not knowing any better (i.e., key/furniture deposit- first off no such thing as a furniture deposit, only a deposit for the cost of replacing the key, here it's $200 and you can replace a key for like $5-10).
Onto the conditions of the house: the flooring is literally coming apart and I got an inch (not stretching the truth here) splinter of wood, from the floor into my foot through my sock simply from walking on it; the whole shower floor is curling up and breaking/lifting from the floor and floods the bathroom, the house has had serious bug infestations (huge centipedes- I can't even relay how awful this was- and spiders and ants everywhere), the landlord does not upgrade or fix anything and it took him a year to finally replace our broken washer, and the other bathroom's tub is chipping + breaking down and turning into a hazard (to name a few).
If you're still reading sorry for the long rant! I just want people to read/see/share this post in order to avoid living in a horrible house with a horrible landlord. So many people in Waterloo have had to deal with shit landlords and overpricing with rent, just to be able to have a place to stay. But I assure you any place is better than here, especially for the price being asked. I only stay here because I pay hundreds less and got here years ago so it's affordable for me. You'd be better off with an apartment with amenities and someone who actually fixes things.
TL:DR Landlord on Hazel has done many illegal things, has made life shitty in the house, the house itself is garbage, DO NOT RENT THE ROOMS HE HAS POSTED FOR SALE. You will regret it lol submitted by

2023.05.29 02:02 Expensive-Plant-5264 Buyer wants a refund, do I have any obligation?
Sold a gaming pc to a kid on marketplace. I let him test it out, run benchmarks everything. Now he's complaining about the headphone jack not working and how it is running a cracked version of windows how I'm a "scammer" etc. etc. I sold this thing for dirt cheap, and never mentioned it was in amazing quality, it's used.
My question is, does facebook have any buyer protection for customers? Like is there any way they could get me in trouble or force a refund, after paying me cash and picking up product in person? Or am I good to just block his number and move on?

| A tandoor clay pot is a traditional cooking vessel used in many cultures for baking delicious bread and marinated meats. Before using a new tandoor clay pot, it is important to properly season and cure it to enhance its durability and impart a unique flavor to your culinary creations. In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to season and cure a clay pot tandoor. Curing Your Tandoor Clay Pot Steps to Season and Cure a Tandoor Clay Pot: Step 1: Gather the required ingredients: - A new clay pot for the tandoor
- 1.5 liters of Mustard Oil
Cure a Tandoor Clay Pot -1.5 liters of Mustard Oil Cure a Tandoor Clay Pot - 1 kg of Jaggery (Gur) Cure a Tandoor Clay Pot - 1 kg of Spinach (Palak) Cure a Tandoor Clay Pot - 10 teaspoons of Salt - 10 teaspoons of Turmeric Powder (Haldi)

Rinse it thoroughly with water and let it dry completely. Step 3: Prepare the curing mixture: In a large container, combine 1.5 liters of Mustard Oil, 1 kg of Jaggery (Gur), 1 kg of Spinach (Palak), 10 teaspoons of Salt, and 10 teaspoons of Turmeric Powder (Haldi). Mix the ingredients well to create a thick paste. Cure a Tandoor Clay Pot - Mix ingredients Step 4: Apply the curing mixture: Take the prepared curing mixture and apply it evenly to the inside surface of the clay pot. Make sure to cover the entire surface, including the walls and the base. Apply a thick layer of the mixture, ensuring it adheres well to the clay. Step 5: Let it dry: Once you have applied the curing mixture, allow the clay pot to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area. It is important to let the pot dry slowly to avoid any cracks or damage. This process can take several days, so be patient and avoid rushing it. Cure a Tandoor Clay Pot - Let it dry Step 6: Repeat the process: After the first layer of the curing mixture has dried completely, repeat the application process for a second layer. Apply the mixture evenly and allow it to dry once again. This second layer will further strengthen and protect the clay pot. Step 7: Final curing: After the second layer has dried completely, it is time for the final curing. Place the clay pot in your tandoor or any other heat source and gradually increase the temperature. Start with a low flame or heat and gradually increase it over a period of a few hours. This gradual heating will help the clay pot adjust to high temperatures without cracking. Step 8: Cool down and clean: Once the final curing is complete, allow the clay pot to cool down completely. Once cool, gently remove any excess curing mixture from the surface. Rinse the pot with water to remove any remaining residue and let it dry naturally. Cure a Tandoor Clay Pot - Cool down and clean Conclusion: Curing and seasoning a tandoor clay pot is an essential step to enhance its durability and bring out the best flavors in your dishes. 2023.05.29 01:27 ZestyHistory How do I go about finding a cheap car without being scammed?
I am a broke student. Next year, I will not be living on-campus or close to campus so I will definitely need my own form of reliable transportation. I'm trying to look for something that is below 7500 and will get me through the next 4 years. I've been checking places like craigslist or facebook marketplace periodically, but I know that these options can be a little sketchy.
Not the most car-savvy person either, so how can I safely go this route? Also, please let me know of any other options or places that I can check out!

2023.05.29 00:52 Travelin2017 Laptop Free
Well, after 11 years my MacBook Pro laptop finally has thrown in the towel and given up. This thing travelled the world with me and survived a few beatings along the way. I've barely used the laptop this past few years and am actually really happy to part ways with it. I own a tablet and galaxy S9 mobile and don't think I'll be getting a laptop again.
Does anyone else enjoy having no laptop and just generally not having very much technology in there day to day life?. I find it quite freeing if I'm honest.
Most of the time when I go out with my dog I don't even have my phone on me. I really like connecting with her on the walk and just soaking up the nature around me. I'm only on Reddit and have an alias Facebook account for marketplace. Do you enjoy being free from social media?

2023.05.29 00:37 neitherdoesthisapple How active is the Minnesota/upper Midwest agility scene?
Hi everyone, I may be relocating back to MN for work. I’m newish to agility but Eevee and I have fallen in love with the competition. We actually got her first title this weekend!
Currently I live in Colorado, and the agility community is alive and well. In the Denver metro there are 2-3 AKC trials every month (especially in the summer) and 3-4 comps hosted by other organizations (UKI, NADAC, USDAA, Teacup…) per month. We have only done AKC events but are open to competing through other organizations.
I tried looking on Facebook and online and it doesn’t seem like there are as many competitions in MN. Am I not looking at the right websites? Are people primarily competing out of state?

2023.05.29 00:19 I_blame_society Should I buy this cracked hollowbody?
| I found this Ibanez Artcore on Facebook marketplace for just $100, local pickup. Looks like these sell for ~$300 used, ~$500 new online. Seems like a great deal but this guitar has several huge cracks on the back, side, and soundboard. Seller claims they are cosmetic cracks to the finish only and the wood is sound. I've never owned any electric guitar, let alone a hollowbody, so I'm not sure if I can judge for myself how true that is. -How can I be sure these cracks won't compromise the structural integrity or tone of the guitar? How can I tell if the wood is cracked too? -What other defects should I be on the look out for? I'm guessing this guitar was kept in bad conditions so should I beware of neck warping, etc? -Is this a good deal, or am I gonna end up with a crappy sounding hunk of junk? -Is there any (cheap) way to cover up these cracks and restore the finish? submitted by I_blame_society to guitars [link] [comments] |
