2023.04.10 00:41 VogtBoat Seeking 1m DEM for Portland, Oregon Area – Need Assistance
Hello everyone,
I am currently searching for a 1-meter resolution Digital Elevation Model (DEM) for the Portland, Oregon area. I have found this link: "
https://www.portlandmaps.com/arcgis/rest/services/Public/COP_LiDAR_2014_1ft_BE_DEM_WS/ImageServer", but it seems that I would need to sign up for an ArcGIS Online free trial to access it.
So far, I have not found any 1m DEMs on USGS, OpenTopography, NOAA, ArcGIS Online, or other similar platforms.
Does anyone here know of any good resources or methods to obtain 1m DEMs for the Portland area? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

2023.03.19 22:51 profe55or How accurate are the property lines on portlandmaps.com?
Curious if anyone has real knowledge about
portlandmaps.com. It shows that my backyard neighbor has a structure that goes a bit into my property, but how accurate are the lines on the map? Wondering if I actually own the 5-10 feet of land beneath their building or if it's just an imprecision of the website.

2022.08.29 00:36 Mission_Bowl3938 Where can I find information about easements that apply to my property?
edit: answer was to look at the title report
https://www.multco.us/recording/research-online Started there, but when I go to the first link
https://multcorecords.com/ it didn't give me any results when I put in my address. When I go to portlandmaps I don't see any links that would tell me anything about easements. I'm looking through all the stuff that I signed when I purchased and I don't see anything in there either.
I do have an easement document that was forwarded from a neighbor but I'd really like to get the info from an official source. These agreements must be recorded somewhere...
I have a neighbor that seems to think they have a right to use my driveway even though they have their own driveway. It's one of these flag lot situations, but more complicated.

2022.04.22 03:46 snacky99 Securing a residential mortgage in a semi-commercial zone? (Portland, OR)
A good friend of mine just recently put an offer in on a house here in Portland. She was pre-approved for a mortgage, offer was accepted and she's put earnest money down. However today the lender advised that she should back out of the deal because the house is commercially zoned ("
EX - Central Employment") and that it won't be possible to get a residential mortgage. To confuse matters further, her realtor is telling her that it's fine and that she should move forward with the appraisal and assured her that if it wasn't possible to get a residential mortgage she would get her earnest money back. The house in question was built in the 1920s and has only been used as a residential dwelling - it was recently fully remodeled and was originally put on the market in March for $775K with the price being dropped twice in the past three weeks and my friend bought it when it dropped to $700k. It's a beautiful house and couldn't figure out why it was still on the market but guessing that this must be why...
Anyone have any experience/advice on whether she should move ahead with the appraisal or just back out now? Does the seller have any legal obligation to disclose issues with previous offers? Is it worth trying a different lender and/or is there any way to have the property's zoning amended?

2022.03.11 22:11 theulysses Can anyone tell me how Oregon realtors get away with listings that blatantly lie about square footage?
Exhibit A: the property linked below is clearly only about 1459 sq. ft. according to its included architectural drawings, and
1652 sq ft according to Portland Maps. But it’s listed at over 2800 sq ft.
Even with the unfinished basement, which is actually illegal to include any square footage in rooms with no egress, would be 2500, but the listing adds over 300 sq. ft. to even that number.
3933 SE Tibbetts St., Portland, OR 97202 And this is far from an isolated example. Nearly every listing I’ve checked against the Multnomah County assessor’s office and Portland Maps has an inflated square footage. And not by a little bit.
Does this not go against false advertising laws, and if not, does Oregon Association of Realtors not have an ethics component to their licensure requirements?
Edited to add: Here are several more examples.
Zillow has
this listed as 2616 square feet. Here's the same property on Portland Maps
listed at 1800 square feet.
Here's another one listed at
1940 square feet on Zillow and then
1556 square feet on Portland Maps.
And another
listed as 2928 square feet on Zillow and
1696 on Portland Maps.

2021.07.09 16:28 pdx_stv CONDOS! Pt. 2
| Since there was interest in the Pebble House yesterday I thought I'd re-post with a better view of the facade. The house is on PortlandMaps as "Historic Resource Inventory." I'm not sure what that means. Also it is actually zoned RM2, not R1. I suppose that means CONDOS could be in its future. Unfortunately the sign is now missing a flag. CONDOS! 2020.05.17 11:03 abstractsadgurl [Tenant US-OR] Is this an illegal Accessory Dwelling Unit?
Recently I have been having quite a bit of a tricky problem regarding the "unit" below me. The person living below me is living in an "accessory dwelling unit" so it kind of makes this duplex into sort of a triplex. however upon doing some research according to the city of Portland, Oregon ADU's are illegal in the zone r2.5 for duplexes. The person below is a daughter of the owner and she wrote me telling me she's paying rent and plans on having a roommate soon and her living there has really caused some problems and she basically told us it's be best for us to leave and find a different place to live (yada yada it's a long story and will spare all the details but basically it's overall been distressing my partner and I and we finally had enough)
Is this person allowed to legally pay rent for living in a possible illegal ADU? And are ADU's even allowed on duplexes? I want to be sure before pursing any further. It's been going on for such a long time and has been bothering me.
Also I wanted to add that I found out about this when I did some digging on their owner home history and found on portlandmaps.com there have been 3 other complaints on this specific problem from previous tenants who lived in my spot so now I'm curious.

2019.08.09 00:32 eurobread Horrible neighbors - What can we do?
Partner and I bought a house ~2 months ago in a neighborhood that we love in Portland. The area is great, and 99% of our neighbors are wonderful--with the exception of one property, which is unfortunately directly across from us. The property has multiple units and the tenants are constantly causing trouble. I'm talking broken windows, trash everywhere, fencing falling apart, kids running around recklessly, tons of feral cats, roaches, etc. The cops have been to the property at least 10 times since we've moved in (we've been here 2 months, keep in mind), and they've taken people away in cuffs multiple times.
Now at first we didn't mind, since their behaviolifestyle generally didn't affect us, but we've started noticing more and more trash finding its way onto our property, the cats have started shitting all in our yard (and it reeks), and their kids have absolutely no boundaries and are always unsupervised (they're honestly decent kids considering the circumstances, but opening our front door and walking in unannounced isn't something we're on board with).
To make it worse, two of the units are constantly getting in shouting matches and fighting with each other. Just last week there was a full on brawl with baseball bats and sticks being swung at one another.
I've talked to some of the neighbors about it and it sounds like there's nothing that the city is willing/able to do. I searched the property's history on
portlandmaps.com and there have been 55 complaints filed on the property since 2000, many of which are still 'open' or 'in progress', so I think it's safe to say the city wants to turn a blind eye to it all. Honestly, this post is half just a rant and half a call for advice. So
/Portland, what can we do?

2018.09.02 20:49 Juhnelle Tips for zombie houses in neighborhood
So there's a house down the street from me on Rosa Parks between interstate and I5. I walk by it and every day it looks worse, overgrown grass, evidence of campers, busted out windows, graffiti etc. I looked it up on Portland maps here
https://www.portlandmaps.com/detail/property/1327-N-ROSA-PARKS-WAY/R171767_did/ and it looks like it's owned by a law office. I don't know how long it's been empty, but it needs to be sold or torn down. The street in front is so dark that I walk across the street at night rather than walk by it. How do you go about dealing with these homes? Do you contact the city, neighbors hood assoc, owners, what? Any advice would be awesome.
ETA here's a more current pic from Google maps, but it's gotten worse.

2018.04.13 05:22 shark_attack_mtn Pho Le II
Have you eaten at Pho Le II on SE 84th and Powell? Since I've lived in the area, the restaurant changes it's name about every 6 months. I rarely see anyone eating there.
The only other thing I know about it is that the owner of Tom's Auto Body also owns the property where Pho Le II is located. You can find that information at portlandmaps.com.

2017.01.23 21:52 gojevs Using the 'Get Data From Web' feature
I am trying to use the following website
https://www.portlandmaps.com/ To enter an address, from a list of about 1,000 addresses, and find the owner of said address. When an address is entered into the search bar, the owners information is readily available.
I tried starting out by creating a macro where I copy paste the first address, use the get data from web button, navigate to the web page, and paste the address into the search bar but that doesn't work. After taking an arbitrary address and inspecting the address I'm able to find the correct element but I don't know what to do with it. Is this task too ambitious for an amateur excel user? I think I'm approaching the problem in the wrong way. Is there a way to automate the a search of all 1,000 addresses and pull only the two lines of text I'm interested in?

2016.07.03 23:16 GiggleButts Thoughts on 140th and Powellish?
Just found a great place but, as the title insinuated, not sure how safe the area around it is. Does anyone have experience living out there? I'm pretty pregnant and slightly nervous about being in a standalone house right on a busy road all day alone w the baby when he gets here.
Any help/advice or even resources to learn more would be great. Tried portlandmaps.com but I'm not sure what to make of the info.
