SOLD 1. LifeAF Ultra Curve 20L, medium size (19-20.5" torso), black Ultra, 16.4 oz/466 g, $195 shipped. SOLD
2nd owner of this pack and my first Ultra fabric pack, but lightly used with light signs of wear and no real damage. When you spec this out on the website with the included accessories (shoulder pockets, bottom pocket, back pad shock cord), it comes out to $285, but this is 2022 vintage so it doesn't have the 2023 LiteAF updates. Also including an extra sternum strap. It occupies a weird space in my kit in that it's a bit too large and featured for a day pack but too small for multi-day trips. However, it might work for your needs. The thick shoulder straps and the curve shape are the real deal.
2. Garcia Backpacker's Cache Bear Canister, 10L, 43.8 oz/1240 g. $35+shipping.
So this is an oldie but goodie. At one time, I think this was the backpacker's choice for bear canisters, but times have changed. It's still a decently lightweight can for 10L of capacity, but it really can't beat the BV series in terms of capacity to weight ratio. I got this at a REI Garage sale over a decade ago and barely used it since I moved back east. Not sure what a good price for this is, just want to move it quickly for somebody that needs a decent bear can. Have to ask for shipping because it will be over 3 lbs. to ship.

Got this a couple years ago but never really used it, so condition is still great. Was hoping to use it for short trips as a minimalist shelter but I prefer to just use a proper shelter most of the time. I think this bug net is more suited for someone more adventurous than myself.

This is used condition, so it does have signs of wear, but I have washed the cover and the pillow stays inflated. Full disclosure, in true ultralight style, I cut out the internal stuff sack to save a few grams and it has the old-style Nemo valve. I originally got this because it has a lower inflated height than most pillows, but found I need about an extra inch and settled upon a Sea to Summit pillow. I think this is great pillow for those that prefer a lower height backpacking pillow.

Hello-
I recently inherited a bunch of new coleman canisters (9) from my dad (along with his vintage 1970s Orange Sears Roebuck and Co. Two Burner Propane Stove)
While the stove is in great condition, I believe the hose is shot as when I lit the stove the propane ignited at the connection point to the hose and the unit in addition to the burners. After removing the canister from the hose - I figured it was not a good idea to try it again.
I unfortunately cannot find a regulator or hose that fits (it seems to be a proprietary size), so I am going to keep the stove as an heirloom piece and was looking to get a dual fuel stove in order to use up my propane. Being able to use both propane and butane seemed like a plus to me, plus I do a lot of cooking on the fire so only one burner seemed necessary.

Has anyone had experience with these brands? Obviously safety, build quality and fuel efficiency are important to me but given my recent experience with my dad old stove, having a unit that doesnt use proprietary parts and accepts a universal size hose or regulator is definitely at the top of my list.
Any insight would be appreciated.

I found an A907D in working condition on a bidding site and I'm considering getting it. It includes a plastic bowl and an acrylic blender (A989). I wonder if they're safe to use.
I know there has been some discussions regarding old Tupperware containers and such. Is this something I should worry about in the plastic Kenwood uses? Or is this a general concern when it comes to vintage plastic containers?
I found a combability guide on their website where it says that it's compatible with their stainless steel bowls + other attachments. Money is tight however so optimally I would prefer to use the original blender if it's safe (I'm keeping my eyes open for used ones).

Hey all, I've been dealing with some tiny beetles in my kitchen (quite confident that they are cigarette or drugstore beetles, see pic), and the pest control hired by our landlord hasn't been helpful (he's come like 4-5 times and has given up essentially). At this point, we're giving up and moving out. I want to ensure they don't come with us to our next apartment!
Here is some background:

• I first dealt with the beetles two apartments ago, when I was living with a nightmare roommate who left entire boxes worth of loose cereal rolling around kitchen drawers. I discarded all my food when I moved out, but unbeknownst to me at the time they had infested a microwaveable lavender heated neck wrap (perhaps filled with rice) which I hadn't considered tossing at the time.
• Fast forward to my next apartment, where I discover some beetles. At this point, I'm paranoid. I put all of my food in sealed plastic Tupperware, knowing that the beetles can eat through packaging. And yet I find them in my bedroom where I store no food. Upon some investigation, I find the source of the infestation (the aforementioned neck wrap) and also discover they have been eating the cork wedges of a fancy pair of shoes. I throw out so much stuff, then call my landlord, who has an exterminator spray my apartment. I don't see any more beetles for the next year and move out.
• At my next apartment, I discover a beetle in a bar of chocolate. I resume my old regimen of storing literally any food item in a thick plastic container, the fridge, or the freezer. They seem to be interested in an empty cabinet, as we are storing virtually all our food in the fridge at this point. My partner and I removed all the shelves, vaccuumed the cabinet, wiped them down. No dice. Our landlord calls an exterminator, who sprays the crap out of that cabinet, behind the stove, and the kitchen baseboards. No luck. We ask him to come back a few more times and all he can say is "weird," since he can't find any likely source.

I'm at my wit's end. Everything food related is stored in thick containers, even things like my coffee grinder. I no longer use a toaster. I keep beetle traps on my bookshelves to ensure they aren't eating my books. I keep all my leather goods inside weatherproof Tupperware to ensure the beetles aren't eating my wearables. The only beetle I have ever seen inside food was in a solid metal tea canister, which I thought was thick enough to keep them out. At this point I've given up on my landlord helping, and we just want to ditch anything that could have beetles in it when we move. Do y'all have recommendations for what we can do when we move to prevent these nasty little hitchhikers? Here's what we're thinking so far:

• Throw out anything, I mean anything, food related. Even canned goods.
• Put anything slightly risky or old in a weatherproof tupperware and store it offsite with a beetle trap in it for 6 months to ensure nothing's living in it. (Stuff like down sleeping bags, leather goods, paper, etc.)
• We have some expensive alcohol; any advice for preventing it from becoming a vector? I'd hate to throw it out.

This feels like insane overkill, but I went pretty wild with prevention last time and they still followed me to this apartment. Is there anything safe we could apply to shelves at the new place to prevent them from nesting or reproducing? Any other general ideas?

Hello everyone,
I've been browsing the Etsy marketplace for Tupperware items and have noticed that some sellers are offering new modern Tupperware items as vintage or handmade. I'm curious to know how these sellers are able to get away with this.
As far as I know, vintage items must be at least 20 years old to be considered vintage. And handmade items must be made by the seller themselves, not mass-produced by a company.
So how is it possible that these Tupperware ladies are selling new items and claiming they are either vintage or handmade? Are they just relying on buyers who don't know the difference, or is there something more to it?
I would love to hear your thoughts and insights on this topic. Does reporting them to Etsy do any good?

Good afternoon, everyone. I am hard pressed to let this beautiful gem go.
This is a Canon F-1 Old in near mint condition. I have used this camera my self and can assure you it is working beautifully. The light meter also works! I am also including the proper battery adapter. It’s sporting a 50mm 1.4 lens that’s also in excellent, near mint condition. No scratches!
Pictured you will also see (6) vintage Kodak film canisters that are in near mint condition! These are awesome.
I’m also including (1) brand new roll of CineStill 800, and (1) expired roll of Fujifilm 400.
The camera is also equipped with a brand new Peak Design strap which retails for $70.

Title basically says it all. I had a Kenmore canister which worked fine for about 20 years when my cleaner broke it in some way.
I have fairly basic cleaning needs as I live in a high rise condo. I have wood floors with a few area rugs - I don't think they are "high' - more like your basic Asian rug. One is a Karastan, one is a vintage Chinese Deco and the other is a new area rug - not shag.
I would like something easy to switch between wood and the area rugs.
I don't have pets.
Something that is relatively easy to use so I can explain the instructions to my cleaner. Easy to clean - easy to change bags and filters.
I don't have stairs so shlepping a canister on the stairs or up and down is not a consideration.
I had considered an upright style but wasn't sure whether they fit under beds and furniture as well as the canister style "wand". I would probably not be moving furniture so ideally a wand that fit as far under the chairs, sofa and bed would be ideal.
I don't have a budget but I think a $1000 Miele would be overkill for my simple needs so somewhere around the $500 mark would seem to be enough to purchase a reasonably good vacuum.
The lower end Miele really purely on suction and so I am not sure it would be a good choice for use on the area rugs. Some of the comments mention it being difficult to move over ANY carpet
I have been considering the Kenmore BC7005 - it seems as though it fits my simple needs. There are a few reviews that are negative - of course that is true of almost any product
Is there a better vacuum for my needs?
