I'm 34, after I had my third baby in March 2022 (2nd IVF baby) I had lots of complications. After giving birth, I hemorrhaged really bad, after pumping me with all kinds of meds they got it to stop after 45 minutes, the blood loss was so significant, I also had to have a transfusion. At 6 weeks postpartum, I started bleeding.... that bleeding didn't stop (full on period), I bled for 9 months straight with maybe a couple of weeks off here and there. My doctor did a sonogram and diagnosed me with adenomyosis. I wanted to do an ablation because I felt it was less invasive so we did that along with a tube removal in November 2022. The bleeding stopped for 9 days then kept on going (full on period again). My doctor and I decided since my deductible was met to go ahead and do the hysterectomy, we kept the ovaries in and removed the cervix. I healed nicely, got back to my normal routine and felt so great! I didn't realize how much pain I actually was in. Now I'm about 6 months out from the hysterectomy and I'm having lower abdominal pain that comes and goes. It's inconsistent and worse when I'm sitting down. The best way to describe it is it feels like a pulling sensation mixed with gas pain. There have been a couple of instances this week that I was doubled over in pain. When I was younger, I had cysts on my ovaries, but this doesn't really feel like that. I also read up on some fellow redditors pain when they had an ovarian torsion and I'm doubtful the pain I'm having is that either. It's not bad enough to warrant going to the ER, but still concerning enough that I want other ladies opinions on what this might be. Could this be normal post op healing? I mean, I feel like my ovaries just now woke up, because my libido has finally returned. Or, is this in fact a torsion and my pain tolerance is so high it's not registering with me to be serious. Or, is it cysts?

I myself have been critical of James Cameron's writing and directing perceived contradictions and paradoxes into the movies, and I've spent a lot of time and energy trying to sway people away from their adoration of the various grandfather paradoxes throughout. But in the end, I realized that two important things are true, for better or worse:

• Every story, especially in sci-fi, is fluid until it's dead (nothing is set in stone)

James Camerson is on record saying that the story of The Terminator is a time loop, and doesn't much care for getting into the technicalities of it (Go to 6:34), but he leans on the idea of "superposition" where all of the rest of the hypothetical timelines exist simultaneously, but then vanish once one timeline prevails (somehow). The power in that statement is worth keeping in mind when you also consider the fact that, as a director and the OG of the IP, he can dictate which timeline that is whenever he wants.
He can wave away all of the sequels, including Dark Fate. Or, he can embrace all of them, even Sarah Connor Chronicles, and refer to them as alternate timelines, and until he says otherwise, we'll have to accept it.
Having this realization put me at peace with how powerless I felt over what I thought was lazy writing. It's not that it's lazy writing, it's very focused writing, just not on technicalities. He tells human stories with primal triggers laced throughout, enthralling us, taking us on a ride. He's an entertainer, not a scientist.
With that awareness, we know we're not going to get a very technical movie that spends a significant amount of dialog or plot on explaining how things work. We're just not. And for good damn reason -- any time Arnold waxes poetically about quantum field variations or nexus points in time flows, I think everyone in the theater becomes narcoleptic. I know I do. Show us, don't tell us.
So, to settle debates that have been raging in this sub for a long time: Are there paradoxical time loops in The Terminator? Yes. Can they be broken? Yes. That's all we know for sure. Any creative writer with some knowledge of science can connect any of the dots that he or she wants, and if Cameron liked it, he could make a movie out of it. Everything could be a simulation taking place in Skynet's imagination. Sarah could be the first digitally copied human, living in a nightmare loop. There is no "before" and "after" in the Terminator, there's just The Terminator Universe, and anything (hypothetically) goes.

Just a little rant about a brief interaction I had today. I've always felt so frustrated and annoyed for people experiencing judgement or intrusive comments about them only having one child. Like, mind your own uterus people. Oddly enough I had never gotten such comments or judgement from anybody before, when people asked if she was my only/if I was having more and I said no they were supportive or neutral about it. Well, it finally happened.
My husband was saying hi to someone he knew at a gas station we stopped at and this random older lady the guy was with came to our window where my daughter and I were and she said "Aw how cute how old?" And I said "Thanks! She's 3 and a half." And she goes "Oh my goodness growing up so fast! Make sure you have your next one soon so they'll be close and age. Don't have an only child, they're SPOILED." I was like "Well I'm just having her. And I have to disagree...I don't think they're spoiled. I think it's all about how you raise your child no matter how many you have." And she's like "Oh I must've screwed up then, I have my one son and he's 45 and spoiled as heck." And I'm like "Hey maybe that's just him then." and she kind of gave a sour look and then left lmao. Like screw off lady, saying that with my kid right there and acting like you know how many kids I need. Glad she put her own foot in her mouth.

You guys probably saw me ranting about this a couple days ago, that a lady on FB messaged me saying she wanted me to set up a table at her craft show. So i was stressing for days making all these crochet items. Well it was today. And uh. It was just me and her... nobody else. In a community building at an apartment complex. Only 1 customer showed up for the entire 4 hours. I'm really disappointed. I expected it to be a much bigger event, hell with maybe more then 2 vendors? I lost gas money to get there. And nobody came in so it's not like my company name is at least being seen by people. I'm just really disappointed and a bit discouraged.

Im probably going to delete this later, but right now I’m not doing so hot. I came to Dallas alone to meet Joe, and I did. He was an absolute sweetheart yesterday for my autograph, and today I got my picture taken with him. This morning I woke up just feeling off. I took a little while to make sure I ate and drank water and o tried to calm down. Then I almost ran late for the photo, so I had to rush to get to the convention center and I got stressed out, and there’s soooo many more people here today than there were yesterday. I have been looking forward to getting a picture with him and I wanted my pose to be a hug. I just wanted a hug so bad, but right before I got in for my picture, the staff are screaming NO HUGS, NO POSES. I know they probably did that at Joe’s request because he’s tired or hugged out or whatever, and that’s totally fine for him to not want hugs. It was just the screaming and the fact that I was already having a hard time and I just wanted a hug to make it better and I’ve got a lady screaming NO HUGS NO HUGS. I used to get anxiety really bad, but I’ve done really well for over a year. My one thing that has always set me off the fastest is looking forward to plans and then they get canceled last minute, so now I’m alone, crying, maybe having a small panic attack. It feels so stupid to be crying over this because I’m so grateful that I got to meet him at all and I’m so thankful that I have a picture with him. I can just feel my brain being irrational and I can’t stop it. I guess I just need a pep talk or something and I feel like this community is the only people that will understand.

So, yesterday my sister was helping me with some projects and was in my backyard, I was doing some things inside the house. I noticed that she was talking to my neighbor who has a three or four year old who was also playing nearby to where they were talking across the fence. I lost track of time, at one point I looked outside and didn't see her so I thought she might have left and I just didn't notice. After another hour or so goes by, I see her still in the backyard, playing with the kid through the fence. They were picking things out of the dirt, showing them to each other, supposedly looking for worms, etc. No parent in sight.
I eventually went outside and told her it was time for dinner, and I saw that the mom had left her child with my sister and had been power washing their back porch. This woman left her child with my sister for at least 2 hours, and even if she is comfortable leaving her kid around a stranger that long, she didn't think that maybe she needed to entertain her own child? Or ask if my sister needed to get back to her own projects? I know my sister could have walked away but she didn't want to be mean in the poor kid just wanted someone to play with. It just blows my mind, if I had been doing that as a kid my mom would have at least been checking on me, and after an hour or less would have told me I needed to let the nice lady work on her own stuff.

This is the first episode I've listened to in a while, I've only very sporadically listened in the past couple years. I was irritated by the first episode. I met my ex-wife back in 1994, shortly after she had lost her first pet rat. She was still known as the "Rat Lady", because she would go to parties, and out in public generally, with her pet rat on her shoulder. It had been diagnosed as diabetic, and she would give it medicine from an eye dropper. Needless to say, it was well trained, and stayed perched on her shoulder. When I met her, she had already adopted another male rat, and my teenage little sister wanted to get rid of her female rat (it was biting her on a regular basis, even when she was feeding it). We brought our rats together, and I moved in myself, the rats brought us together. We had them in cages in the basement, with over twenty-five other rodents, because she also had five cats and a puppy. There was a rat litter, and separated the father out, for the safety of the litter. But apparently there was also an infestation of wild mice in the basement, and with horror we found half eaten rat babies in the nest in the cage, the mother obviously in distress. The cage had big enough openings for mice, which we didn't thought of. After that, we kept the parents apart, and pet rats don't live very long anyways, ours died within a couple of years. Anyways, rats are not a deal-breaker for romance, in fact, it specifically brought me and my ex, who I still think of as my only true love, together.

1. i am the only SLP in the SNF (which i know, not uncommon) but i frequently feel lost and genuinely feel like i don’t know what i’m doing. i feel like i need more support for my first professional experience.
   
2. my boss keeps getting on me about my low productivity. which is confusing, because he always encourages screens, which don’t always turn into evals, and screens don’t count towards my productivity. then he gets annoyed when i don’t pick people up because i tell him they’re not appropriate. he is saying i am effecting the numbers and making him look bad. he’s a COTA, by the way.
   
3. i have tried leaving early when i’m done for the day so my productivity doesn’t tank. i then get “talked” to for leaving early (1:30,2 pm). i’m sorry sir, so do you want low productivity? i’m confused? what am i supposed to do?
   
4. i don’t want to feel constant pressure to “build my caseload” as a CF. i’m being pressure to pick up part B’s and “think outside the box.”
   
5. i love the geriatric population, but as an SLP in a SNF, it’s absolutely draining me.
   
6. i want experience in a different setting as i’m still new and want to try something else before i completely throw my education down the drain and don’t finish my CF.
   
7. i feel like PT and OT are the main characters, speech is often forgotten or misunderstood. no one knows what i do or seems to care. i feel left out of staff meetings and pts often only want to “walk” and “balance” themselves. i don’t want to feel like a burden on a 102 year old lady, honestly.
   
8. crappy benefits, unstable hours, fluctuating paychecks. caring about the metrics more than patient care.
