Accidental hit and run

2023.05.29 03:40 Charming-Corgi-1708 Accidental hit and run

So about an hour ago i side swiped someone going into a turning lane, I panicked got back into the striaght lane not knowing which car I hit, it’s a very narrow road so I wasn’t able to pull over anywhere so I kept driving straight, before I knew it there were no cars behind me. It’s not like I fled but I literally didn’t know what car was hit. I even made a u turn and went to check the scene and didn’t see anyone. Can I go to jail? Should I call the police and report this?

2023.05.29 02:43 Realistic-Ask2277 Family Court needs reform!

My 10 year old granddaughter has lived with me since birth, in 2016 I formally adopted her. Her mother which is my daughter is in and out of active addiction with 3 felony convictions, a stolen firearm and a stolen car in Shelby County and a stolen car in Scott County. Her father passed away in 2016 from an overdose. The paternal side of my granddaughter’s family had very little to do with her. The paternal grandfather never came to a birthday party and when he did see her I took her and stayed with her except on 3 occasions 2 of which was prior to the adoption when her father was alive and the final time the paternal grandfather kept her for the weekend, he was getting married and wanted to take her dress shopping. When he brought her back a fight took place between him and I over a present she had gotten the previous Christmas, I took her to his home for Christmas, had to stay there while she opened her presents and haul the presents back home with us. He got pretty nasty with me in front of her, I stopped the visits after that. He decided to take me to court for grandparents visitation and won. My attorney dropped my case 3 weeks before trial. The day of trial I was throwing up and running a fever, my witness had Covid. The judge would not postpone the hearing, I represented myself via zoom.
Prior to the hearing we were planning on moving, the paternal grandfather, his attorney, the Friend of the Court and the judge was made aware of this before and during the trial. In March of 2022 we moved to Tennessee, I did not notify anyone we had moved or where we went other than my father. I had my mail forwarded and my husband remained in the home until May of that year.
In August of 2022 I received a call from a detective with the sheriff’s department in the county we had moved from, he wanted to do a welfare check on my granddaughter. I let her talk to him and emailed him 2 pictures of her holding a piece of paper with the date on it. In the middle of September 2022 CPS from the state we moved to came to the home, my granddaughter was in school so she made an appointment to come back. When CPS returned they talked to my granddaughter and checked out the house. She then sent a report to CPS in Kentucky stating that my granddaughter was perfect, she was enrolled in private school, doing good and very happy. Approximately a week later the sheriff’s department for the county we moved to came to my home with a court order from a judge in the state we moved from to remove my granddaughter. She was placed with the paternal grandfather who had been arrested in the past for domestic violence with injury, wanton endangerment and possession, he has since had the expunged. I have his record from where he was booked. Evidently at the beginning of September the paternal grandfather went to the county he lived in, had a detective in that county attempt to search for her. This detective stated she could not find her and put her on the NCIC report. The paternal grandfather then went to the judge who is over both the county I moved from and the county he lives in. This is the same judge that awarded him visitation. She signed an ECO to remove my granddaughter. The claim was she was in danger and nobody could find her. The first detective called me, CPS and the local sheriff department came to my home. They removed her from her private Christian School and they are questioning my religion and churches that I have gone too, they are wanting a list of the churches I have gone to over the years. The paternal grandfather didn’t go to church and I don’t know if he even believes in God. I am very open about my beliefs and stated in court during the grandparents visitation hearing that it was in God’s hands and it was God’s call. That got me a dirty look from the judge and she ruled against me.
On my first court appearance I was sentenced to 30 days in jail for failure to appear at a hearing I knew nothing about. I did not get to answer to the reasons they removed her from my home and I still have not had that hearing. I was appointed an attorney who didn’t return calls, didn’t answer emails and would not go before the judge and plead for me not to go to jail so I didn’t loose any business. My husband and I owned our own business at the time and had since 2019. AS a result we lost contracts, got evicted and was homeless for several months, living in our car. The judge also ordered hair follicle and urine drug testing my husband and myself, and ordered that we pay for it at a cost of over $600 each. She also ordered me to have a mental health evaluation and parenting assessment. She recommended 2 doctors both of which charge $5000 and do not take insurance. She did not court order that I go to these doctors and I was able to find a place that took insurance. When the reports were submitted to the court they were not good enough and she ordered me to see the doctor that charges $5000.
Prior to finding out I had to spend $5000 on a doctor we were able to come up with $3000 for an attorney. This attorney took my money and the paternal grandfather’s side. I have received hateful text messages, he has broke the court order pertaining to my granddaughter calling me on more than one occasion. He talks bad of my husband and myself, telling my granddaughter we are bad people and bad parents. My granddaughter calls my husband daddy but gets yelled at when she does this in front of the paternal grandfather and his wife. This attorney didn’t protest at all about this $5000 doctor. I am supposed to be kept up to date on her medical and education which I have not been. The paternal grandfather is allowing my granddaughter to spend time with her biological mother who just got her other 2 children back from the state and was recently convicted with stealing a guns and 2 cars. I do not have a record, I am not nor have never been an addict. My drug test came back positive for suboxone which my husband has a prescription for, I do not so I don’t know how I tested positive. Only my urine came back positive my hair did not and I have not been made to take any other drug tests. My granddaughter receives SSI from her deceased father which is now going to the paternal grandfather. I have not seen my granddaughter since they took her in September. I asked for zoom calls and visits. I just recently was told that the judge awarded me supervised visitation months ago, when I had a court appointed attorney. We live 5 hours away and were having car problems, I attempted to go to my visit and the car broke down 3 hours from where we were supposed to meet. We were stuck in this town for 3 days with no way home. Two weeks later we were supposed to have another visit, the paternal grandfather decided they were going on vacation and canceled the visit and hasn’t rescheduled. My granddaughter did not want to go on vacation. When I finally get my hearing my granddaughter will be gone from my home for 10 months. She wants to come home, how is any of this in the best interests of the child? CPS isn’t even involved anymore because the judge won’t follow their advice. They wanted my granddaughter to start therapy, that hasn’t happened. I don’t know if it’s just her age, change in diet or emotional eating, she as gained over 30 lbs in 6 months.
Yes I broke the grandparents visitation order and have a court date for contempt of court. I could get 6 months for that. I do not have $5000 for a doctor which is contempt of court and could get 6 months for that. I admit I broke the law but taking my child and over a year in jail is far to much in my opinion but I guess when the paternal great uncle works for the county that the judge is over, the judge will do whatever you want her to do. My paid attorney quit because I didn’t have faith that they were doing what they should be doing so now I am going at this with no attorney at all as I can’t afford another one. Our car is still broke down and sitting out of state. This case has taken everything we have.
Also as of today I have not heard from her in over a week, she has now missed 3 phone calls and he canceled last weeks visit. The place that we were supposed to have our supervised visit at called and said he canceled and did not reschedule. It would have been our first one. I can not call and check on her as he has told me never to call his phone. This isn’t the first time she has not been able to call me.

2023.05.29 02:36 Realistic-Ask2277 Help

2023.05.29 02:24 Realistic-Ask2277 Corrupt Child Welfare System-Kentucky

2023.05.29 00:10 Bound2earth86 The Importance of Being Erinis. $45 Gruul Landfall and Control Deck

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/UEkJOHtFckq_v2ZLFEvAdg
## Hey Vern, It's Ernest!
(Ernest)
Well hey there Vern, glad you could join us. Today we need to pack for camp, luckily I know a swell lady who can help.
[[Erinis, Gloom Stalker]]
She has Deathtouch, she Ramps, and she even allows us to control the board with [[Street Urchin]]! WOW what a woman!
## Ernest Goes to Camp
To get the perfect camping experience, first we need to pack the right supplies.
* [[Ash Barrens]] with Basic Landcycling not only gives us a basic land but also puts a land in the graveyard for Erinis to return.
* [[Springbloom Druid]] sacrifices a land and gives us two in return.
* [[Orcish Lumberjack]] chops down a Forest for 3 Mana in any combination of colors.
* [[Rolling Regrowth]] and [[Harrow]] are an instant speed Springbloom Druid.
* [[Magmatic Insight]] sacs a land and draws you cards.
* [[Blighted Woodland]], [[Evolving Wilds]], [[Terramorphic Expanse]], and [[Myriad Landscape]] all allow us to sacrifice a land and go and get basics.
* Special shoutout to [[Cabaretti Courtyard]], [[Brokers Hideout]], [[Riveteers Outlook]], and [[Maestros Theater]] allowing us to hit 4 Landfall triggers in a turn.
Now that we have some lands in the graveyard, we can fully use Erinis ability to replay them. But what do we do with all these Landfall triggers?
* [[Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith]] makes Rocks for us to throw at whoever is bothering us.
* [[Sporemound]] makes sacrificial Saprolings
* [[Geode Rager]] opens up attack lanes by Goading each creature target opponent controls
* [[Rampaging Baloths]] gives you a 4/4 body for attacking or for sacrificing to Street Urchin
* [[Sarinth Greatwurm]] ramps you with Powerstones that can be used to activate abilities
* [[Tireless Provisioner]] and [[Tireless Tracker]] both make you artifacts with every landfall trigger
* [[Scute Swarm]] is always a winner by making an endless supply of bodies
* [[Zendikar's Roil]] makes elementals which are elemental to our gameplan (see what I did there?)
## Ernest Goes to Jail
Well darn Vern, instead of ending up at Kamp Kikakee we nearly drowned our opponents with all of our triggers. Guess we will have to be a bit creative with how else with get more creatures and/or artifacts for Erinis to use.
* [[Impulsive Pilferer]] gives you an early body but also gives you a treasure when you ~~murder~~ accidently eliminate him.
* [[Undercellar Myconid]] brings a friend both when it enters and leaves the battlefield, and taps to add a mana of any color
* [[Mitotic Slime]] is like the friend you invited but you weren't expecting them to bring along 6 of their friends. Luckily for us we can sac them all!
* [[Loyal Apprentice]] makes a hasty flying 1/1 at the beginning of our combat step. We can sac it to clear the way for Erinis or grow an army for when the need arrives.
* [[Dragonlair Spider]] can easily flood the board depending on your opponents
* [[Awakening Zone]] gives you another adorable critter to Old Yeller when the time is right.
* [[Crack Open]], [[Seize the Spoils]], and [[Artifact Mutation]] all provide answers and give us something to sac along the way.
* [[Implement of Ferocity]] and [[Implement of Combustion]] only cost us 1 mana and when they are sacrificed they draw us a card.
* [[Nimblewright Schematic]], [[Mycosynth Wellspring]], [[Servo Schematic]], [[Ichor Wellspring]], and [[Prized Statue]] give us several artifacts for doing what we were already going to do with them anyway.
* [[Gingerbread Cabin]] is a fun land to recur with Erinis because it brings along Food!
## Ernest Scared Stupid
At this point we have so many things to sac that we have drawn the ire of our opponents. Unlike your parents 9 months before your birth, we need **Protection**
.
* [[Ranger's Guile]] and [[Snakeskin Veil]] give you instant speed Hexproof when you become the target of removal.
* [[Mirror Shield]], [[Mask of Avacyn]] and[[Swiftfoot Boots]] give you some bling to keep the party rolling.
* [[Snake Umbra]] protects you with Totem Armor and is a better [[Keen Sense]]
* [[Alpha Authority]] gives you protection and evasion, and it doesn't get much better than that Knowwhatimean?
* [[Beamtown Beatstick]] and[[Sticky Fingers]] both give you Menace and whenever you connect it makes you a Treasure Token just to add insult to injury.
## Ernest Goes to School
At this point you would guess we have all the answers, well good thing you still have some schooling to attend because here are a few tricks you may not have seen on first glance
* [[Sylvan Scrying]], [[Crop Rotation]], and [[Expedition Map]] all give us the ability to search for any land. but which lands should we go and find?
* [[Cryptic Caves]], [[Roadside Reliquary]], [[The Autonomous Furnace]], and [[The Hunter Maze]] can be sacrificed for card draw.
* [[Slagwoods Bridge]], [[Darksteel Citadel]], [[Tree of Tales]], and [[Great Furnace]] finds us a repeatable artifact land that we can sac and then recur with Erinis.
* [[Rogue's Passage]] makes Erinis unblockable
* [[Detection Tower]] gives us a way to ping those annoying hexproof creatures our opponents control.
## Ernest Rides Again
As fancy as this $45 deck is, like my Middle School teacher told me, there is always room for improvement. Gruul Landfall has some more expensive token producers that would put in some serious work in this style of deck. Also the inclusion of Fetch Lands would make it very possible to hit all our Landfall triggers each and every turn. Hope y'all enjoyed this little journey, come back real soon.

About our Roleplay:
We have several options to choose from when joining. First and foremost is our civilian department. Civilians are the backbone to any roleplay server and we like to prioritize civilians and allow them to bring their own personalities into our community. We love in-depth roleplay and offer civilians to build their lives in game. Own a business, live a life crime free, or choose the alternative of a life of crime, being in a gang, creating a cover business, getting involved in the drug rings, etc. Our Patrols are Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights from 1945-2300 hours EST. That's not to say that members can't jump in and start their own, that's just our community standard ones!
For our Law Enforcement, we have 3 main departments. The first and oldest department in our community is the San Andreas State Police. The State Police in our community are known for their dedication to serious roleplay. The SASP has several units including a Standard Patrol Division, the Detectives Bureau and the Traffic Bureau. The Detectives and Traffic Bureau handle all investigations within the State and put full cases together to submit to the Prosecutor to enter the case into our Court System. The Troopers strive and take much pride in what they do!
Secondly, we have the Blaine/Los Santos County Sheriffs Office. The Sheriff's Office is home to the K-9 Division and they like to take a more laid back approach to their roleplay. The Sheriff's Office is also tasked to handle the Jails within the state and handle civilians that are out on Probation/Parole to make sure they are compliant.
Finally we have the State Department of Natural Resources. The DNR, is the most laid back law enforcement agency in our community and they take pride in preserving the fine forestry area of the State and ensure hunters are hunting in a safe and legal manor and our citizens taking part in outdoor activities are having fun and not causing havoc.
The San Andreas Department of Fire-Rescue is in the process of being opened as we speak. A new Chief was just appointed and will be opening applications shortly!
Any of this peak your interest? Good! Head on over to our discord where you can meet the Human Resources staff and submit your application today! Just a word of advice, civilian applications get processed the fastest ;). Hope to see you on our server!
