2023.05.29 04:07 Positive_Change_ I just finished “Coraline” by Neil Gaiman

For those who haven’t read it, it is a brief and short novel about a young girl named Coraline. She finds a door in her house that is bricked off, and when she finds that door with the bricks mysteriously gone, she goes through to the other side. What she finds is an alternate version of her home, but one that is eerily perfect and has alternate copies of her parents that are too eager to have her stay there. Coraline leaves, but she finds that the other mother has kidnapped her real parents, so Coraline goes back into the alternate world to save them.
I’ve read a few Neil Gaiman books now, but this is the first one that I’ve read that wasn’t targeted towards adults. It’s a little strange how his writing didn’t feel less mature; it instead felt similar to his other novels, but much more brief and skimping on details he would have otherwise included. It’s also baffling that he wrote this at the same time as American Gods (which I’m in the middle of as well), because that and Coraline couldn’t be further apart in tone and content. I really enjoyed this book, and I’d recommend it to those who are interested in it with the caveat that it is aimed at younger audiences.
I have some thoughts regarding it, and Neil’s writing in general: - Coraline feels very similar to The Ocean at the End of the Lane. They both share a quality that I can’t quite put my finger on, but it’s almost like The Ocean at the End of the Lane was written to be a similar story for adult audiences. One to read when you’re young, the other to read when you’re reminiscing on being young. - I have a tendency to envision (male) talking animals to sound like Keith David, so when I found out the cat was voiced by Keith David in the movie adaptation, I actually laughed. 10/10 casting. - Much like The Hobbit, I wish I actually read this as a child. That being said, I can’t wait to give either this book or The Hobbit to my future children and experience that childhood wonder through them. - This is one of the few books that I’ve read in a single day. It’s a great detox book when you need a day to take a break from your other books/hobbies.

2023.05.29 04:07 1Ice-Ice-Baby Halp! Crib Rebellion!

Baby is now 1 and suddenly hates her crib. We were fine all the way up until now. Her crib is in her own room.
She is fighting us until midnight for the past 3 days and of course she ends up in bed with us after 4 hours of screaming & comforting & talking. She has a perfect room, perfect crib, like it’s a gorgeous room.
We have tried laying beside the crib with our fingers through the slats, we have tried the timed in/out reassurance. I’m positive our neighbors can hear it in surrounding houses.
She only stops screaming the second we pick her up or put her in bed with us.
Halpppp!

2023.05.29 04:07 Difficult-Sherbert79 How to go about evicting a tenant

Hi all,
I am in dire need of help and I have 2 rooms rented a room in my house as a means to help pay mortgage. A couple of months ago, we got a new tenant and at first things were fine but now I am not comfortable living with her in a shared space as she gets very aggressive and gets very loud. We both have come to an agreement that it’s best she move out except she said she will do it at her own time whether it be 2 months or a year. Now this makes me nervous as the other tenant has also spoken to us about discomfort sharing a space with her and got both my families safety and the safety of our other tenant.
My next step is to follow the eviction notice but I am not sure how to go on about that. I know that I would have to write a formal 60 day notice and provide it to her (print and via email).
What happens if the tenant doesn’t evict after the 60th day? When I told her about the 60 day notice she shrugged it off and said she doesn’t care and she will move when she finds some other place. Should I also call a non emergency police number to ask them what can be done.
Sorry if this post seems all over the place but I am not exactly sure what I can do here as all my previous tenants have been amazing. Should consult a lawyer or just give her the notice? I would like her to move out as soon as it’s legally possible. Thank you for you help

2023.05.29 04:07 rainbowbean5678 feeling depressed because I feel like I won't ever be able to own my own home soon... can anyone convince me otherwise?

so I'm in my early twenties and I work in retail, so I'm making about 30k-40k. I have just under 10k in all of my savings.. I don't even live in any big city like New York or California, and all I want to do is own my own place so I can finally have my own privacy and independence from my family, since rent is basically 1000 a month and I'd never, EVER be able to save up for a house throwing away 1000 a month just to "be independent". I've been working on upping my credit score (I have a 710 currently) and planning on using an FHA loan and saving and basically being a broke ass just to save up as much as I can. I want to vacation and buy cool clothes but I can't because I'd rather save up for a house asap. I feel so embarrassed because I drive a shitty used car that I also saved up money for, and it just barely drives and has a cracked windshield and is cluttered from the previous owners, but I just wanted a car.
Anyyway... the cheapest duplex like that, and the only one in my area, is one for 210k and it looks horrible, like a haunted, depilated shack horrible. The decent ones start at 350k and the downpayment for that would be 12k, which doesn't even include closing costs and other stuff, which probably means it's closer to 15k-17k... Regular homes cost around 315k and I see a few for around 275k but they're not a duplex, and I'm not sure if the procedure for "house hacking" is the same as with a duplex. On top of that, I also just worry about being leveraged up and kind of relying on someone else to help pay off my mortgage, and I feel horrible for basically exploiting someone's need to be housed to pay off my mortgage mostly or entirely.
I just don't know, houses feel incredibly expensive, and I see the prices of everything, the state of the homes, and it feels like the only way to afford a home is to force someone else to pay off my mortgage mostly or entirely and saving up for one with an FHA loan requires at least 15k with a 6 month emergency fund, which is probably like another 5k? I just don't know if I'm overblowing things or what I should feel?

2023.05.29 04:06 stoneslingers Contaminated soil?

Contaminated Soil in garden?
Hello!! I live in southern Ontario in a nice suburb full of mature trees and nicely maintained homes. I've been in my home for 19 years. When I bought the house the front garden was full of rocks and plastic flowers. We got rid of the rocks and put in about 6 bags of new soil every year. Over the years I have planted plants and small bushes every spring, but the following spring, they never return. I've put bags and bags of new soil in over the years, all different types.... from mulch to peat and manure... I've tried hastas and euonymus... they never return in the spring. I've planted with miracle grow. I've planted shade plants and sun plants. I'm at my wits end. I water the plants like a normal person (lol) the area gets half sun half shade.
The home has an inground pool in the backyard. Near the pool the flowers and plants return every year. I just don't know why nothing comes back at the front of the house?? Could the soil be contaminated? Would a test from Amazon tell me? I'm so frustrated. Is this why the previous owner had rocks and plastic flowers? Maybe they poured weed killer in the garden? Or accidentally dumped a bucket of chlorine?? How can i tell and how would I fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The area is about 15 feet long by about 2 feet wide. I'm just stunned the hastas don't return. Stunned.

2023.05.29 04:06 mdv_is_back A southerner's experience in Odisha

So I am from Karnataka, but have a varied family history. Was born and raised in Karnataka. I've traveled a decent bit, but like everybody on this sub says, nobody knows odisha, which wasnt entirely true. we all knew places like Puri, konark, Bhadrak and Bhubaneshnwar. But I didn't travel there at all.
So here is where the story of my relationship with Odisha starts (in fact, it's older than me). About 25 years ago in Karnataka, my family was into the whole isckon and krishna movement. We used to attend satsangs and were part of the modern krishna movement (iskcon and the likes of it). One day, we randomly got in contact with this temple at someone's house. This was a very interesting expierience. This wasnt the regular type of deities we were used to seeing and nothing compared to what the south had. This was different. This was Jagganath. Everthing about him intrigued my family. The family who had the temple set up in their house I think had a 2ft or 3ft tall set of dieties. That family was from Bhadrak and were so sweet, my mom considers one of the ladies to be their second mother. The other people and my family had a bit of a language barrier but the love was so visible, they were such a sweet family.
They showed my family the entire tradition with Jagganath and all their culture as well. But as all good things must come to an end, this family had to move out of the city. But as they moved out, they made a gesture. A gesture that would bring a change in my family's spiritual journey. The matriarch of their family gifted us a small set of Jagganath, baladev and subhadra as a token of all the time we spent together. These deites are older than me lol. So then this sparked a flame in my family, they started doing puja to Jagganath and eventually, when the family grew older and got married and all that, they all went to their own houses and all of them established their own dieties of Jagganath. Now it's at a stage, where about 10-12 people in my family have Jagganath as their "home god" (or primary diety).
We served that deity for over 20 years (I heard that we're supposed to change the diety, but this one held too much sentimental value).
So fast forward to my life, I am working my first job in the core sector and the second I heard that I had to move to Odisha, I was hella skeptical, but the first thing my family said was "Jagganath's land". Now I am not very religious, but I'm cool with my man Jagganath. But even then, the move was a big step, a completely new place, new geogrpahy, new people and new culture. But what comforted me was the sense of being indian and India is all about diversity.
It's been about 8 months since my move, although I stay in western Odisha which isnt as developed. The people have been great, they are very sweet, the temperature is difficult to deal with lol, but this state has so much to offer. It's waayy too underrated. I think it is finally taking its branding seriously and probably on track to being one the best.
Was thinking of writing this long back, but what triggered me was the Darshan Raval concert in Rourkela last week, to think that a concert like that happened in a place that nobody's heard of, that made me write this

2023.05.29 04:06 Randopulous Mass Effect LE on PC Multiple Computers, non-gaming laptop, cloud saves

I recently picked up the MELE through the recent sale on Steam that also included several Dragon Age games for $20. Pretty excited to do play through this series more fully this time, and thought I'd share my setup information since I had to piece alot of things together from different discussions and thought it might be useful for someone.
Primarily I am playing ME1 on my laptop which is an HP 14" with a Ryzen 5500U cpu, AMD Radeon integrated gpu, 16 GB RAM and Win11. It is running ME1 so far pretty smoothly with default graphics settings (everything turned "on").
I'm also occasionally playing it on my older living room PC which has an i5 6402P 2.8GHz cpu, 16GB RAM and Radeon 480 4GB gpu, and Win10.
Even with the newer EA app (not the older Origin app), it is working with cloud saves! The annoying thing about it though is that the EA app seems to not have any settings that you can manually work with. It picks it up "automatically".
First I played it on my desktop. I created a character, played it a while, closed, opened and started the game, then closed it again.
Then I opened it on my laptop, it asked me if I wanted to use local or cloud saved game, and I picked cloud. Then I selected "Start" and then "Resume" and it worked!
Now I am not sure if this setup will be reliable in the long run using the cloud saves through the EA app. Only time will tell, so for now I plan on keeping a backup of my saved games locally just in case. Even though it does get uploaded to the cloud, a copy of the saved games is kept locally at: Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save\ME1.
Without opening, closing, and opening it again, the saves did not show up on my laptop when I tried it the first time.

2023.05.29 04:06 Stlvetguy01 I was pushed from behind

Our family lived in an old house and was home alone. Or so I thought. I was in the kitchen getting something to eat when I heard a loud noise in the basement. My dad liked to work on wood projects and had all the tools to repair and build. I opened the basement door and called for him. The lights were off and it seemed strange. I felt a cold rush of air brush past me. My hand was on the handrail when I felt that something was trying to push me. I felt the pressure on my arm and the cold air persisted until as quickly as the cold arrived, it departed. My body was shaking because I felt that I had been in a fight. We had a few more experiences with that door to the basement of which I will always remember.

2023.05.29 04:05 Pockethulk750 French Toast!

French Toast!
Guys and gals I took a risk and used egg substitute and OMG, will never miss gourmet french toast.
I made only two slices. And used vegan brioche bread I found on sale at Whole Foods.
In a shallow bowl I mixed:
1 cup of oatmilk 1/4 cup of water 1 tsp vanilla 2 Tbsp of maple syrup 2 tsp of egg replacement powder
I whisked this all together and let it sit for about half hour.
Then soaked my bread so that it soaked up the juicy goodness while I had my frying pan warming up.
Make sure your pan is hot. Make sure you soak both sides of the bread.
Man! It turned out golden brown, crispy on outside and soft and silky on the inside.
Once on the plate I added sliced strawberries and chopped pecans and a drizzle of maple syrup.
One of my best vegan breakfasts so far and hands down!!
Give it a shot and let me know what you think. 🙏🙏

2023.05.29 04:04 ReginaldSP Looking for contacts in Italy

I realize this is a long shot, but I'm a long time west coast USA house/breaks/techno DJ - over 20 years - and I've never felt the need for representation, so making contacts abroad is hard. I'm traveling with my wife to Napoli and possibly Rome for my birthday this year following a festival gig in Finland and I would love to play in Italy to round out the trip.
We'll be in Napoli around 15 Aug. If you're in Italy and especially Napoli, Amalfi, or even as far north as Roma, please give me a shout. It would be fun even just to hook up with locals and check out any good clubs there and just kick it.

2023.05.29 04:04 Mr_Ben8 Book or Anime

I need help deciding something, so I was bored, and I wrote kind of a Director script of an anime I also have an illustrator’s guide and a voice actor script, but the more I read it the more it sounds like a book. I was wondering if anyone could help me decide if I should turn it into a book or see if I should try to make it into a animated series if a Japanese company does not get involved if it is successful. and if anyone would donate to this “Anime” So here is the first episode, and or chapter. You can vote at the bottom.

Scene 1: A Serene Morning - Masaru's Home
Setting: A cozy tatami-floored dining area with low tables and cushions. Soft morning light filters through sliding shoji doors, creating a peaceful ambiance. The room is adorned with minimalistic decorations that reflect a blend of traditional and modern Japanese aesthetics.
Characters: - Masaru Hiroshi: A young man in his late teens, radiating a calm and focused aura. He is dressed in casual attire, ready to start his day.
Scene Description: The scene opens with Masaru entering the dining area, greeted by the comforting aroma of freshly brewed tea and the subtle fragrance of traditional Japanese breakfast dishes. He smiles warmly at his parents.
Masaru: (cheerfully) Good morning, Mom. Good morning, Dad.
Mom: (with affection) Ohayou gozaimasu, Masaru. Sit down, breakfast is ready.
Masaru takes a seat on a cushion, appreciating the spread of tamago (Japanese omelette), tsukemono (pickled vegetables), and miso soup on the table.
Mom gracefully gets up and reaches for the teapot, pouring steaming tea into Masaru's cup.
Dad: (casually) Masaru, have you decided what you'll be doing today?
Masaru: (thoughtfully) I'm considering helping Mrs. Tanaka with her garden. She could use an extra pair of hands.
Mom returns to her seat, her eyes filled with pride.
Mom: (supportive) That's wonderful, Masaru. Helping others is a true reflection of your character.
Dad: (nodding) Remember, son, the willingness to lend a hand cultivates empathy and strengthens our bonds with the community.
Masaru: (grateful) Thank you, Mom and Dad. Your guidance means the world to me. I'll make sure to assist Mrs. Tanaka to the best of my abilities.
They share a moment of shared understanding, savoring the tranquil morning and the comfort of their familial bonds.
Masaru finishes his breakfast, expressing his appreciation to his parents before preparing for the day ahead.
Masaru: (grateful) Thank you for the delicious meal, Mom. Thank you for your wise words, Dad. I'll see you both later.
End of Scene 1.
Scene two
Scene 2: Masaru's Morning Routine - A Day Begins
Setting: Masaru's bedroom, a reflection of his personality and interests. The room has a blend of traditional and modern elements, with minimalistic decor. The morning sunlight filters through the shoji screens, casting a gentle glow on the room.
Characters: - Masaru Hiroshi: The main character, a young and determined individual. He is dressed in comfortable pajamas, carrying his clothes for the day and wearing a robe. - Inu: Masaru's loyal and playful Shiba Inu dog. Inu looks up at Masaru with adoring eyes.
Scene Description: The scene opens in Masaru's serene bedroom. The room exudes a sense of tranquility, with light wooden flooring and sliding shoji screens allowing soft rays of morning sunlight to illuminate the space.
Masaru stands by his bed, a platform-style bed with a pristine white sheet. He is dressed in comfortable pajamas, the fabric loosely hugging his form. In his hands, he holds his clothes for the day, neatly folded and ready for wear.
With a determined yet calm expression, Masaru carefully selects his outfit, meticulously considering his choice. He slips out of his pajamas, revealing a glimpse of his physique, before smoothly sliding into his daytime attire.
Feeling refreshed from a good night's sleep, Masaru walks towards the en suite bathroom adjoining his room. The bathroom features a modern design, with clean lines and a glass-enclosed shower area.
Inside the shower, the warm water cascades over Masaru's body, rejuvenating him for the day ahead. The sound of water droplets creates a soothing ambiance, as he takes a moment to cleanse both his body and mind.
After his invigorating shower, Masaru steps out of the bathroom, steam lightly clinging to his skin. He reaches for a comfortable robe hanging by the door, slipping it on with a smooth motion. The soft fabric envelopes him, providing a sense of warmth and ease.
Returning to his bedroom, Masaru walks over to a corner of the room where Inu eagerly awaits him. He kneels down, gently petting the Shiba Inu's head, exchanging affectionate glances.
Masaru: (warmly) Take care, Inu. I'll see you later.
Inu barks softly, their bond evident in their connection.
With a sense of readiness, Masaru stands up, his gaze sweeping across the room to ensure he has gathered everything he needs for the day. A desk with a few books and a small shelf housing a collection of samurai figurines catch his eye momentarily.
Satisfied that he has all he requires, Masaru turns his attention towards the door. He takes a step forward, pausing briefly to appreciate the familiarity and comfort of his personal sanctuary.
Masaru walks out of his room and makes his way downstairs, the sound of his footsteps echoing in the hallway. As he descends, he catches glimpses of his parents in the living area, each engrossed in their morning routines.
Masaru: (casual) Mom. Dad.
Mom looks up from her activity, her face lighting up with a warm smile.
Mom: Masaru. Have a great day!
Dad glances up from his newspaper, his expression reflecting a mix of pride and support.
Dad: Take care, son. Make it count!
Masaru nods appreciatively, acknowledging their words of encouragement. He continues his stride towards the front door, a subtle determination in his step.
Closing the front door behind him, Masaru steps out into the world, greeted by the embrace of a new day. The possibilities stretch out before him, and he's ready to seize them with
Scene 3: Masaru's Serendipitous Discovery
[The scene begins with Masaru leaving his house, his destination being Mrs. Tanaka's garden, which lies beyond the city market. He walks along the familiar path, lost in his own thoughts.]
Masaru (muttering to himself): Alright, time to head to Mrs. Tanaka's garden. Gotta take this route through the market. Wonder what kind of chaos awaits me there today.
[As Masaru walks, he notices a side street veering off from the main path. Intrigued by the allure of the unknown, he decides to deviate from his usual route.]
Masaru: Huh, a different path this time. It seems less traveled, yet there's something enchanting about it. Let's see where it leads.
[He ventures down the narrow street, leaving behind the bustling sounds of the city market. The path meanders through a lush landscape, revealing a tranquil pond adorned with cherry blossom trees. A sense of peace envelops Masaru as he gazes in awe at the breathtaking beauty before him.]
Masaru (whispering to himself): A hidden gem amidst the hustle and bustle—a peaceful pond embraced by cherry blossoms. Its serene atmosphere captivates my senses, drawing me further into its charm.
[In the heart of the pond, a small bamboo forest emerges, creating a magical scene that feels like a secret sanctuary. Masaru stands in awe, marveling at the harmony between the delicate cherry blossoms and the sturdy bamboo stalks, as if nature itself has crafted a wondrous masterpiece.]
Masaru (amazed): Such a beautiful combination of grace and strength. How is it that this hidden oasis remains undiscovered by so many? It's like stepping into a realm untouched by the chaos beyond.
[As he walks along the path surrounding the pond, Masaru's sharp instincts guide him towards a rare and elusive creature—a magnificent rabbit with fur as white as freshly fallen snow. With his exceptional stealth and agility, Masaru silently approaches the rabbit, capturing it with impressive dexterity.]
Masaru (whispering to the rabbit): Your elegance matches the serenity of this hidden pond. Allow me to admire your presence for a brief moment.
[Examining the rabbit in his hands, Masaru takes in the intricate patterns of its fur, the gleam in its eyes, and the gentle rise and fall of its breathing. His admiration for the creature grows as he realizes the rarity of such an encounter.]
Masaru (in awe): The world holds its breath when you appear, a living testament to nature's beauty. I am grateful to have crossed paths with you.
[With great care, Masaru releases the rabbit back into the freedom of the surrounding landscape. As it bounds away, disappearing into the lush foliage, Masaru smiles, his heart filled with gratitude for the connection he shared with the creature.]
Masaru (grateful): Farewell, my exquisite friend. May your journey be filled with endless wonder and the allure of unexplored paths.
[Inspired by his encounter with the rabbit and the hidden wonders of the pond, Masaru continues his journey towards the city market, anticipation filling his heart. He moves forward, eager to uncover the stories and encounters that await him in the vibrant marketplace.]
Masaru (determined): The city market beckons, a realm of vibrant energy and untold tales. But the memory of this hidden sanctuary will forever be etched in my mind—a testament to the extraordinary wonders that lie just beyond the beaten path.
Scene 4: The City Market
[INT. CITY MARKET - DAY]
Masaru finally arrives at the bustling city market. The atmosphere is lively, filled with colorful stalls, chattering merchants, and the aroma of various foods. He walks through the market, nodding and waving to familiar faces, engaging in small talk with store owners.
MASARU Morning, Mr. Suzuki! How's business today?
MR. SUZUKI Masaru! Good to see you, my boy. Business is steady, thanks for asking. Say, have you seen those new spices I brought in?
MASARU Oh, I haven't checked them out yet, but I'll swing by later. They must be quite something!
Masaru continues his leisurely stroll through the market, enjoying the vibrant sights and sounds. He passes by a fruit stand and strikes up a conversation with the FRUIT MERCHANT.
MASARU Good morning! Those peaches look juicy today. How are they selling?
FRUIT MERCHANT Masaru, my friend! These peaches are flying off the shelves. Can't resist their sweetness. Want to try one?
MASARU Sure, I'll take one. Takes a bite Mmm, delicious as always.
As he walks further, he spots a SHOE VENDOR arranging a display of colorful shoes.
MASARU Morning! Any new styles in stock?
SHOE VENDOR Masaru, my man! Just got these sleek leather boots. Want to give them a try?
MASARU Maybe next time. They look impressive, though.
Masaru continues his journey through the bustling market, exchanging greetings and engaging in short conversations with various merchants. Their words blend with the lively ambiance, creating a tapestry of voices and activity.
As he walks, Masaru catches sight of a signpost indicating the direction to Mrs. Tanaka's garden. The familiarity of the garden tugs at his heart, reminding him of past visits filled with enchantment and tranquility.
MASARU (to himself) Ah, Mrs. Tanaka's garden... Always a haven of beauty and wonder.
With a renewed sense of excitement, Masaru quickens his pace, eager to reconnect with the serenity that awaits him in the familiar garden.
[END OF SCENE]
Scene 5: The Garden Conversation
[Setting: Mrs. Tanaka's Garden. Masaru enters the garden, greeted by the serene beauty and Mrs. Tanaka's warm presence. They sit down at a small table with cups of tea.]
Mrs. Tanaka: [Smiling warmly] Masaru, my dear, before we start working, let's take a moment to enjoy some tea together. So, have you given any thought to what you want to do for your future career?
Masaru: [Sipping his tea, thoughtful] To be honest, Mrs. Tanaka, I'm still unsure. There are so many possibilities, but none of them feel quite right. I've been volunteering to explore different paths, but I know that volunteering doesn't bring money.
Mrs. Tanaka: [Nodding understandingly] Ah, the practical side of things. It's true that we need to consider financial stability as well. However, let me share a different perspective with you. Money is important, but it should not be the sole measure of our success or fulfillment.
Masaru: [Curious] What do you mean?
Mrs. Tanaka: Volunteering may not bring immediate financial rewards, but it can enrich your life in other ways. It helps you develop skills, gain valuable experiences, and build connections with people who share your passions. Sometimes, the true value of a career lies in the impact we make and the joy it brings to our lives.
Masaru: [Contemplative] I've never thought about it that way. I've always been focused on finding a career that brings financial stability, but maybe there's more to it than just money.
Mrs. Tanaka: [Encouragingly] Indeed, Masaru. Follow your heart, pursue what brings you joy and fulfillment. Remember, a fulfilling career is a combination of your passions, values, and the positive impact you can make in the world.
[They continue their conversation over tea, delving deeper into Masaru's interests, dreams, and aspirations, as the tranquil garden surrounds them with its beauty and wisdom.]
Scene 6: The Garden
[The scene is set in Mrs. Tanaka's garden, where Masaru and Mrs. Tanaka are working together, collecting Kubocha squash. They have a pile of squash beside them. They both pause for a moment, catching their breath.]
Mrs. Tanaka: [Wiping her forehead] Ah, the Kubocha squash harvest is coming along nicely, Masaru. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Masaru: [Smiling] It's my pleasure, Mrs. Tanaka. I'm glad to be of assistance.
[They both resume their work, collecting more squash, their movements synchronized.]
Mrs. Tanaka: [Breaking the silence] Masaru, may I ask you a question?
Masaru: [Curious] Of course, Mrs. Tanaka. What's on your mind?
Mrs. Tanaka: [Thoughtful] Do you know what you want to do for your future career? Have you discovered your true calling yet?
Masaru: [Pausing, contemplating] Honestly, Mrs. Tanaka, I'm still uncertain. I haven't found my path yet.
Mrs. Tanaka: [Nodding] I understand. Sometimes, finding one's purpose can be a challenging journey. But let me tell you about one of my grandchildren. He's grown up to become one of the world's greatest swordsman.
Masaru: [Surprised] A swordsman? That sounds incredible. But how does one become a swordsman?
Mrs. Tanaka: [Smiling warmly] It's not just about swinging a blade, Masaru. It's a path of discipline, dedication, and protection. As a swordsman, you learn to wield a blade with precision and skill, defending what you hold dear.
Masaru: [Intrigued] I never thought of it that way. Tell me more.
Mrs. Tanaka: [Eagerly] Being a swordsman means more than just fighting. It's about protecting your beliefs, your village, and the people you care about. It requires physical strength, mental fortitude, and a strong sense of justice.
Masaru: [Absorbing the information] That's fascinating. But where would I even start?
Mrs. Tanaka: [Encouraging] I'm glad you're interested, Masaru. I happen to know the best swordsman master in history, renowned for his wisdom and skill. If you're willing, I can arrange a meeting for you. He can guide you on this incredible journey and teach you the ways of the sword.
[They continue working, picking up more squash, but now there's a sense of anticipation and excitement in the air.]

2023.05.29 04:04 Sharinganprincess91 [F4M] Fandom Roleplay. Looking for more partners. (Still looking)

Side note: I've added a password, so read carefully. If you message me WITHOUT the password, your messages are automatically IGNORED. tired of getting hit up with people who don't read 😒. It's ridiculous cause I've ignored 5+ chats cause none of them contained the password. Things are written for a reason.
Facts about me:
Rules:
1: if you don't like 50/50 mixture of sex scenes and story, don't bother hopping into my inbox. I'm fine with sex scenes, but when it's constantly back to back, the roleplay itself gets boring.
2: Be literate. No one liners. I like to write..it's annoying when I send a 2-3 paragraph response and I get 3 lines...just...no. I am not accepting people who are just starting out! If you aren't experienced in writing or roleplaying, kindly stay out of my inbox.
3: Be okay with playing canon characters. I'm mainly doing fandom roleplays right now and it's going to be Canon x my oc. No, I'm not doing double ups. Do not even ask, because the answer will be no every time. I do not give a shit if you think that makes me 'lazy' or 'selfish', if you've got a problem, you can simply ignore or block me. Commenting on my post to bitch and whine about me not doubling up will only result in me blocking you. The ONLY time I'll double up, and if I'm confident enough, I'll only do female characters. I suck at males. Got a problem? Not my issue. Block and move on.
4: Roleplay in third person. I can't and won't adapt to first. Don't even bring up the idea of you playing first person and me playing third. Believe it or not, I've been asked this twice and that is just a hell no for me. The only time I do first, is when I'm writing into my book.
5: if you don't know how to share ideas, then don't bother messaging me. I'm tired of carrying the story when the other person doesn't help. If you've got ideas, then PLEASE speak up! Your opinion on the roleplay matters too! I'm an easy going person, and easy to get along with (dispite my rules).
6: DO NOT control my character. I control what she says, does, hears, sees, ect. I don't control yours, so don't control mine. HOWEVER, if it's highly necessary and needed, then run it by me first and ask me. Just leave me some wiggle room so I can make a decent response. Failure to comply by this rule, results in immediate drop of the rp.
End Note:
Yes, I've updated my rules just a tad. I do not care if it makes me sound mean or rude, because I'm neither of these things. I'm just tired of putting these rules down for a specific reason and they go ignored because I can tell when someone hasn't read them, and lied about it. I'm just trying to get my point across and roleplay. I'm a very easy going person who loves to make friends on the side (which I've somewhat given up on making friends...only a selective few have actually gained my friendship).
Do not hop into my inbox with a simple 'hey' 'hi' 'sup', etc and for God's sake, don't message me with a 'rp?'and proceed me to flash me with your talliwhacker. I promise you, you'll get your feelings hurt and I'll be here laughing at ya 😂. Nobody wants a peen on their screen. Do not send me an image of your one eyed noodle. Thank you. The password is pineapple.
