2023.05.29 23:43 ReplyStraight6408 [GUIDE] How I Emigrated And Gained Citizenship Abroad

I've been seeing a lot of posts and comments on here and other Magrebi subs talking about how to "get out" of the country and live abroad. I grew up in a mixed household and had two Magrebi passports before I turned 18 and most people in my community have traveled, worked and some emigrated. Now I wanted to share what I have learned with this community in hopes of helping others who want to do the same.

Completing Secondary Education: The Journey Begins

When I completed my secondary education I became qualified to apply to America's Diversity Immigrant Visa Program which is by far the easiest way to emigrate. The application is free and you can reapply every year until you win. The only requirement is you have a passport and completed some form of post-secondary education.I was also attending University but I kept the necessary documents saved and placed an annual reminder on my calendar which told me reapply every year on October 5th when the application opens up. A few of my friends won while they were still completing their undergraduate degrees and transferred to American Universities. I had yet to win so I looked for more opportunities.

Graduating University: First Time Abroad

In my 4th year of University I began aggressively applying to jobs abroad. I applied to jobs all over the world but 90% of my applications were to positions in the Khaleej because they allow you to gain residency if you find employment and don't tax your income. This was important to me since my primary reason for seeking employment abroad was to make more money. From my experience the best platforms to apply for jobs are LinkedIn, Bayt.com and Stack Overflow if you're in tech. I eventually got a good job offer in the UAE and moved Dubai to start my new career. I opened a bank as soon as I had my National ID card so I wouldn't have to worry about the capital flight restrictions anymore.I also made the decision to live incredibly frugally because my goal was to pursue graduate studies in Canada (more on why later). I studied and took the TOFEL and IELTS exams since they are necessary for both education and immigration purposes. Meanwhile I kept applying to the American DV lottery since it would still be the fastest way to get permanent residency.

Graduate Studies: Moving to Canada

After about 2 years I had saved enough money to being studying in Canada. While education in Canada is not as expensive as the United States it is still very expensive so knowing where to apply is very important. From my research the following Universities offer the best tuition rates for international students:
  1. Memorial University of Newfoundland
  2. University of Manitoba
  3. University of Regina
  4. Simon Fraser University
  5. University of Saskatchewan
  6. University of Calgary
  7. Dalhousie University
In addition to the low tuition costs they are also located in inexpensive cities which is as important. The reason I choose Canada as my destination for graduate studies is because after you complete a Master's degree in Canada, you are eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) which allows you to work in Canada for a duration equivalent to the length of your program (3 years max).I enrolled in my two year graduate program and began my graduate studies in Canada. I made sure to network during this time and attended every career fair regardless if it was for undergraduate student or graduate students. I kept my CV up to date and used LinkedIn strategically to network with hiring managers. Meanwhile I continued to apply to the American DV lottery.

Finishing Master Degree: Gaining PR in Canada

After graduating from my Master program I found a job and applied for the PGWP so I could remain in Canada. After a year of working in Canada I became eligible to gain permanent residency (PR) via the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) immigration program. The CEC makes it very easy for educated and skilled foreigners to gain PR in Canada. It's a point based program so the more "qualified" you are the easier it is for you to gain PR. There are many nuances to the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) but here are the main things the program looks for:
In general if you completed your education in Canada and worked in Canada then you are a very strong candidate for Canadian residency. This was my case so I gained permanent residency after being on a PGWP for about two years. I continued to apply to the American DV lottery the whole time.

Becoming Canadian Citizen: First Foreign Passport

After living in Canada for three years I became eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship. I gathered the necessary documents, completed Form CIT 0002 and paid the application fees. Later I completed a citizenship test which tests your knowledge of Canada's history, values, institutions, rights etc.. After passing the test I attended a Citizenship Ceremony and received my Certificate of Canadian Citizenship which allowed me to get my Canadian passport. By this time I had lived in Canada for 6 years and thought I would have lived here the rest of my life but something interesting happened: I won American DV lottery.

Moving To America: The Journey Continues

I had kept applying the the American DV lottery because I saw it as a form of insurance in case one of my applications was denied or if my immigration to Canada ran into issues. I was ready to stop since I finally had my Canadian citizenship but on May 6th I received notification that I won the DV lottery.Since I work in tech I feel the United States will be a better place for me to work and many of my Canadian colleagues had already move to the United States for higher paying jobs. I wasn't interested in going through the H1-B visa to PR process but now that I can skip ahead to the PR I'm going to go for it. I submitted all the necessary documents and once I have my Green Card I'll being applying to jobs in the United States. I'm really excited to see what the future has in store for me!

Final Thoughts

Like I said from the start my goal was to write about my journey to help people on here learn more about what opportunities are out there and show it's no that hard to "get out" if you really want. I would say my main takeaways are the following:
If anyone would like more information I am happy to answer question and provide more information about my journey. I have tried to give as much information as possible while still maintaining some privacy so forgive me if I have been too cryptic. I hope this post helps!

2023.05.29 23:43 dreamingofislay Feis Ile Caol Ila Day Recap (5/29)

Feis Ile Caol Ila Day Recap (5/29)
Sequel to my recaps for days one and two. It's been a wonderful Feis so far, and we feel lucky and grateful to be able to return after a five-year hiatus.
Day Three, Monday, is Caol Ila Open Day on island's eastern coast. Here are our impressions and advice, let me know if you guys find this helpful and interesting!
https://preview.redd.it/8s4tfwcqbu2b1.jpg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d9300b924a9c0d60e5e72038ac6a2b8556407779
  • This year is the first year in a while that the open day has returned to the distillery after a multi-year renovation. The new visitor center is much bigger, sleeker, and glossier than older examples like Lagavulin's spartan bottle shop. Caol Ila's center is a Disney World-esque tribute to all things Diageo, selling many of their major single malts and special annual releases, along with a big array of Johnnie Walker products.
  • Unsurprisingly, Caol Ila day is a lot like Lagavulin day. Great, well-organized team. On arrival, they hand out a welcome packet with a pin, map, and two dram tokens per person, and everyone can choose between two whiskies for those free pours. Caol Ila offered the Distillers Edition and Moch.
  • Like at Lagavulin, the dram-token system is only lightly enforced. We came in and got two packets, then went to the main bar, and they handed me two more packets because I was holding the first two under the bar (not intentionally, I swear!). By 4 pm, team members were passing out more drams, no tokens exchanged, so the famous generosity of festival week is still here, just a little more under wraps.
  • ASOIAF/Game of Thrones fans may appreciate this reference: Caol Ila is the Pyke of Islay distilleries. Not only is it on the coast, it's on a verdant rocky cliffside, so you must take a winding wooden walkway to enter it. Caol Ila is also the most "vertical," for lack of a better word. The gift shop's on Level 3, and the main courtyard was on Level 0. On each level, there are different experience rooms, including a mini-history museum on Level 2.
  • In that history museum, we enjoyed a wonderful experience with Jo and Peter (a Diageo historian and a blending team member, respectively). It was strange; almost every other major event sold out very quickly, but this one was still available a week before we arrived, for a relatively reasonable 45 pounds/person. When we got there, only one other couple had booked it, and all of us had a great time chatting. Jo and Peter were fun company and fonts of whisky knowledge. And the four whiskies ... quite something. As a bonus, Jo and Peter gave us a to-go sample of a whisky they custom-created for the Lagavulin Malt Mill experience (the idea was to recreate the early 1900s whisky made at Lagavulin for blending). Such a kind gesture.
  • If you ever find yourself on Islay do yourself a favor and go to the Ballygrant Inn. Heck, go twice. It may be the best whisky bar on an island chock full of amazing watering holes. The selection feels infinite, and the prices are eye-poppingly reasonable. As a comparison, we had Laphroaig's 2009 and 2010 Cairdeas bottles for 8.50 pounds per pour, whereas they were 25-30 pounds per pour at a bar in Bowmore. And if you want to try rare bottles or festival bottles without the madness of Feis week, this is your spot. They have many Feis Ile expressions from the last 5-10 years.
  • Hang out at a bar long enough, and you realize some people are not here to play. Chatted with one group that was ordering powerhouse dram after powerhouse dram - Ardbeg Single Casks, 20-plus year old Bowmores and Bunnahabhains, etc. - like there was no tomorrow. One gentleman let me taste a sip of an Ardbeg single cask (70 or so pound pour). Yeah, it was pretty good.
  • SMWS (Scotch Malt Whisky Society) does great events throughout the week, and you don't have to be a member to attend or buy their bottles, unlike the rest of the year. They had a booth outside of Ballygrant today, and we got to try 5-6 expressions and ended up buying two festival bottles: a 14-year-old Macallan beauty bottled for Spirit of Speyside and a 14-year-old Caol Ila in honor of their open day, which was better (just IMO) than the official festival bottling and about half the price.
  • The vindaloo curry at Indian Tandoori/Taj Mahal in Bowmore is really spicy. Perfect hearty meal for resetting the system after a long day.
  • Fauna spotting: there are distinctive black and white seabirds with red feet all over the island, named black guillemots, but known at the distillery as "Caol Ila penguins." We also saw a swan couple that we've now spotted at Lagavulin, Bunnahabhain, Bowmore, and across the bay by Jura. Not sure if they're the same single pair of swans, but it feels like they're following us around!
We powered through quite a few drams today (lots of small sample pours, or driver's dram bottles to take home):
Caol Ila Moch - the easy entry ramp into peated single malts, but not going to be any seasoned fan's favorite.
Caol Ila Distillers Edition - Weird but super-fun scent today: chinkiang vinegar. My fellow Chinese folk will know what I'm talking about. Great with dumplings when blended with soy sauce. Maybe Caol Ila DE is a good substitute?
Caol Ila Distillery Exclusive - 2018 bottling with a red-wine finish. Nose is so different than other Caol Ilas, pure vanilla and coconut, but with the spice and tannins of a red-wine finish in the late palate.
Caol Ila Four Corners of Scotland, 14 y.o. - 2022 bottling that was made to emphasize the distillery's character. Core profile: ashy petrols and iodine on the nose, but a sweet, lemon/citrus palate, and a floral/smoke finish.
Caol Ila Feis Ile 2023, 13 y.o. - This year's festival bottling is a marriage of 10 first-fill PX and oloroso sherry casks. Was a surprising dram because most first-fill whiskies are very intensely sherried, at the cost of some balance. For this one, the distillery character won out and there might have been too little sherry influence.
Caol Ila 1996, 26 y.o. single cask - Not for sale, just for tastings like this one. This ruddy dram was so rich and unctuous it nosed like a bourbon, but the taste was all rich, old, sherry-aged, sweet-and-peat Islay goodness. An absolute stunner. My wife said cuatro leches due to the high caramel and brown sugar; I also got some pineapple juice on the finish.
SMWS 53.446, "Blowtorched Mexican Mousse," 14 y.o. - This Caol Ila is more of the classic sherry-and-peat combo, really potent and meaty, like barbecue ribs slathered with some sweet Kansas City-style sauce. Bottled for this year's Feis.
SMWS G16 Rare Release, "Dark n'Stormy Creme Brulee," 6 y.o. - This one-off whisky was a collab with Glasgow Distillery to make a Scottish bourbon-style whisky. Using a mashbill of 51+% corn, rye, and barley (sounds like bourbon, yeah?), aged in new American oak casks (bourbon, right?), this one tastes like ... a pretty delicious rye whisky to me, and a high-rye bourbon to my wife. Fascinating dram.
SMWS 24 Rare Release, "Massive Oak Extraction," 14 y.o. - Single cask, cask-strength Macallan. Burnt matchsticks nose (a common note from sherry aging), followed by a tour-de-force palate of dark, sugary fruits and baking spices. A much more muscular Macallan than any of their own bottlings.
SMWS 3 Rare Release, "The Finesse of a Fragrant Furnace," 18 y.o. - A strange Bowmore, so gentle and light and sweet that it read more like a Highland whisky to us. But maybe that's what happens when you're on your 4th cask strength whisky after leaving a 4-cask-strength-whisky tasting ...
SMWS 53 Rare Release, "Honeysuckle Petrichor," 14 y.o. - Another Caol Ila, which had some similar notes to the previous one, but with an ashier and "dirtier"/farmier palate. Petrichor, for sure. Depends if you want more of that rough, earthy peat, but you can't go wrong either way.
Laphroaig 2009 Cairdeas 12 y.o. - This showcases a fresh-cut fruit and light side to Laphroaig that I rarely see outside of 20-year-old-plus bottlings. Not at all the norm, but that's why I love the Cairdeas series.
Laphroaig 2010 Cairdeas Master Edition - In contrast to 2009, 2010 was straight down the fairway. Ashy, smoky, medicinal, maritime, and warming. I wish I could compare this side by side with the 2015 200th Anniversary or with 2022's Warehouse 1. It sort of falls between those two bottlings. With this dram, I've made it through the entire Cairdeas lineup!
Octomore 08.2 - Well, it's an Octomore, what is there to say? Wave after wave of peat, balanced out by salinity and an intense, tinned-fruit sweetness. After 15 minutes, got some chocolate wafer cookies on the nose.
Ardbeg Galileo - This feels like a classic Ardbeg from a bygone golden age. I wish the juice still tasted like this. It doesn't have any of the mustiness or dirtiness of some peated whiskies; it's fruity, mellow, and citric, like a barbecued fruit skewer. Not your normal 'Beg, not sure if they lowered the peat content here.

2023.05.29 23:31 S_Wicka Question for deli peeps

So I’m gonna use my free half sub coupon for linking my club pub account, planning on ordering it ahead for pickup. I’m hoping with the “no bread make it a salad” option, that the tag will still read Publix Half Italian Sub so the clipless coupon comes off.
So are breadless half sub tags printed the same way? I know there’s been issues with peoples clipless perk coupons not coming off at the register. I don’t wanna make it worse! Thanks!!

2023.05.29 23:30 carinhafeio The NBF Files #1: The Worst Teams of All Time

HMs: 1993 Memphis Blues (10-70. this is actually a 71 OVR team... Wtf. Lack of ball-handlers, I'd guess. They didn't have a single Guard in the roster that season), 1919 Atlanta Kaiju (10-70), 1949 Saint Louis Spirits (10-70), 2003 Las Vegas Pandas (10-72), 2020 Utah Missionaries (8-60)

10:

1912 - Albany Bagels Record: 7-53
Once upon a time, in 1911, Albany had a decent star duo, consisting of 23-year-old 61 OVR 6'4 PG/SG Connor Juergens, who averaged 15/4/13/0.5/2, and 28-year-old 61 OVR 6'4 SF Blake Woolsey, who averaged 20/7/3/1.3/1.6 a duo that led them to a 23-37. However, both were expiring contracts that season. And both were unsatisfied. Mainly due to the team's record of 23-37 and their small contract offers, so, they parted ways with the team. Connor left for the Boston Massacre, in which he became a 72 OVR by 1914, and made $870K. While Blake Woolsey left for the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks, in which he got his bag of $870K through 4 years, despite being traded in 1913. To top it all off, in 1912 the RNGod completely crushed all their hopes through a team-wide regression spree, and they ended up with a 14 OVR team, led by 26 year-old Lithuanian C Tomas Galdikas, who averaged just 16 PPG, 6 REB and 1.6 BLK. 7 wins and 53 losses.

9:

1924 - Virginia Pigeons Record: 9-71
Virginia had been a tanking team since 1919 (yes, they did make the playoffs in 1920 and 1921, but their last 40-win season had been all the way back in 1918), and this 1924 season was just the culmination of all that tanking combined with bad front office decisions. For example, in the 1922 draft, a draft with 6 All-Stars and 4 different Hall-of-famers, they had the 7th pick. And with the 7th pick, they picked the 7'3 Center Bobby Klein, who peaked at 57.

8:

1917 - Las Vegas Pandas Record: 9-71
In 1916, Las Vegas had a decent team, with tons of decent/good roleplayers, built around their superstar David Herbig (who was their leading scorer, rebounder, assister, blocker and stealer), who was averaging 24/7.5/8.5/1.7/1.8 that season. 1917 was just the result of a team-wide regression, including David Herbig himself, who went from 71 in 1915, to 67 in 1916 and then 65 in 1917. Now, it's not like Herbig wasn't trying. He still averaged 21/7/8.5/1.8/1.4 and made the All-Stars but that's just not enough, you know? The team-wide regression really f*cked them up. Only 4 players in that team averaged double digit numbers, including David Herbig, who himself regressed from 24 PPG to 21.

7:

1987 - Minnesota Blizzard Record: 9-71
A complete lack of good players. Even in 1986, a season in which they at least won 16 games, they only had 3 players averaging 15+ PPG. Including 43 year old 50 OVR Carlos Vroman. By 1987, even he had abandoned this dumpster fire of a team, and they were left with only their star, future HOF 6'1 Guard Nicholas Rendleman, one of the hardest-working players in league history, who, despite averaging 26.5/5/11/0.5/2 couldn't help carry this team to even TEN wins, and the 10th season veteran roleplayer 6'3 SG/SF Tim Maguire, who averaged 18/6.5/3/0.5/1.2. Those were the only players to average 15 PPG+ in this team (the 26 year-old PG Nate Miller did average 15+ too, at 16.7, but he only played 23 games that season. They traded him away for young PF Len Everett, who'd be loyal to them for a long time, but still...)

6:

1961 - Austin Convicts Record: 9-71
I feel bad for Jamés Linder in this situation. He's top 15 of all time according to my GOAT Lab Formula, yet, the Boston Massacre, the team he had been loyal to his whole career, even missing tons of opportunities to win more rings just to make the state of Massachusetts proud... They just abandoned him. Traded him away to this garbage of a team (a team that went 20-60 in 1960) just because he was 37 and left him to rot there. He even said on interviews that he felt completely betrayed by the front office... I mean, it wouldn't have been that bad if Austin's d*ckhead GM wouldn't have let their previous season All-Star, Sean Bernard, walk in free agency. They could've played together and... Idk maybe have made playoffs? Anyways, Jamés Linder, despite being 38, with terrible athleticism at that point and on a sharp decline, still tried to salvage the team, averaging 28 PPG, 5 REB and 10 AST (idk how tf he missed the All-Star team), but it just wasn't supposed to be. Jamés Linder hated playing basketball during 1961, and would go on to retire just 2 seasons later.
Ooh Boy, here we go. The top 5 worst teams in NBF history, the worst of the worst, the absolute most Trash, Garbage, Dumpster Fire teams are here. Are you ready? drums

5:

1917 - Boston Massacre Record: 8-72
The highest OVR player on this team was 56 OVR, 34-year-old, HOF veteran 6'5 SG/SF Kyle Turner. He averaged 17.2 PPG (SEVENTEEN) that season. Literally the only thing worth noting in this complete and utter disaster of a season is the development of their 7th pick in the 1916 draft, the 6'4 PG Tim Jones who progressed from 46 to 53 that season. He was one of their 6 50+ OVR players. They only had 6 50+ OVR players. I don't even have anything to say. (Idk why I was so surprised by this. Now, after I have finished writing, I've realized that 50s actually seems decent when compared to some of those teams)

4:

1987 - Portland Roses Record: 8-72
This team is even worse than the previous one, at least in terms of 50 OVR players. They have 4 in total. But I wouldn't say they are as bad as the presence of 4 50s indicates. They have two seasoned-veterans and future HOFers in 58 OVR 37-year-old Jackson Drayton, who averaged 17 PPG and 12 AST and 44 OVR 42-year-old Ethan Couch who averaged 13 PPG, 8 REB and 6 AST. In fact, this team had 6 players averaging double digit PPG and a defensive specialist who averaged 8 PPG. Their main option, the 6'1, #7 pick in the 1983 draft Zach Seacat, who many considered to be a bust, showed he could at least score and shoot a bit, averaging 18 PPG, 4 REB, 3 AST, 1.6 STL on 37.8% from downtown. Yeah, the team was terrible, but it's all fun and games when you're averaging 18 PPG on 38% from 3, right?

3:

1992 - San Diego Armadillos Record: 7-73
Now, this team is a TERRIBLY underperforming team. Not as underperforming as the 1993 Memphis Blues, but still, they were a 27 OVR team. They should've won at least 11 games, you know? At the start of the season, they also had 2 Future HOFers in the form of 60 OVR 23-year-old PF/C Frank Johnson, who was averaging 15 PPG, 11 REB, 2 AST, 2.1 BLK and 2 STL on elite shooting splits. However, he got traded, just before the trade deadline for Boston's Kareem Kirven, an actual 34-year-old All-Star Caliber Guard, who averaged 25 PPG, 9.8 REB, 7 AST, 0.3 BLK and 1.3 STL through 32 games with them. Their other future HOF player was Dominick Womack, a classic PG who was averaging 17 PPG, 4.5 REB, 8.5 AST and 1.2 BLK with 41 3P%. But yeah, outside of the 2 star players they had through the season (either Dominick and Frank or Dominick and Kareem), they didn't really have much help, outside of 3 & D Wing Aaron Walker, who was averaging 17 PPG, 1 BLK and 1.6 STL on 36% from 3, and maybe veteran Devin Outlaw, who was averaging 12 PPG and 6 REB? So, let's just say the lack of role-players was what ultimately ruined them
oh god...

2:

2000 - Atlanta Kaiju Record: 4-76
To see arguably the 3rd or 2nd greatest franchise in NBF history be brought down to it's knees like this is completely heartbreaking. The same franchise that won 10 championship rings and had the greatest season of all time in 1950, going 73-7, is also the franchise tied for the worst season in league history, at 4-76, exactly 50 years after their glorious season. Truly disheartening. It's not even funny to laugh and insult them at this point, it's just sad. Their leading scorer was acquired in the middle of the season through a trade, having only played 36 games. That player was Kelvin Smith, a 26th overall pick. He averaged 23 PPG, 9 REB, 4 AST, 0.7 BLK and 1.7 STL. Now, he was at least a 62 overall, but as a I said, he was acquired in the middle of the season. Their true scoring leader, through the entire season? A 54 overall. 54 OVR, 7'1 Nate Ramos. A DEFENSIVE-SPECIALIST CENTER. THIS TEAM IS FUCKING TERRIBLE. He averaged 17.8 PPG, 11.5 REB, 6 AST (he has 57 passing), 1.7 BLK and 0.8 STL. And was the team-leader in everything. expect steals, that goes to 47 overall PG Nick Martin, who averaged 1.6 STL.

1:

1953 - Minneapolis Snipers
Their 4 best players were, respectively: A 57 A 52 A 51 A 50 Now, let's look at 2022 San Diego Armadillos. They were a terribly MID team, going 40-42 and getting the 9th seed. You know how many minutes their 52 and 51s get? 52 Valentino Burgess - 13.7 51 Case King - 11.2 51 Ken Hicks - 10.5
Wanna know who got more than that in this Minneapolis Snipers team? 37 Tosin Nwosu - 15.4
This is just an absurdity. At least their 57 OVR was averaging 21 PPG, but still, that's 13.8 PER for him. Their best player had 13.8 PER. Their second best, the 30-year-old 51 OVR F Lance Onwuasor had 13.7 PER. Their third best, the young future HOFer SF 50 OVR Brendan Paongo, had 10.7 PER.
Oh, and this team is a, a kid you not, MINUS ONE Overall. Let's just say that, not even in the first season in league history (1891) there was a negative overall team. In fact, the worst team that season, at least in terms of OVR, was a 44 Overall team. The ultimate disaster: 1953, Minneapolis.

2023.05.29 23:26 AuziFox [COD] Hackers, hackers everywhere.

Hey, looking to switch it up from [MW2] 2022. So tried [MW] 2019, spending $60 on steam. The price for a game that you think would be fully playable. But it’s unplayable, full of hackers. That aside. Is there a title that has a hacker free multiplayer? Or is that just the new norm. For the developers to abandon their previous titles. Forcing players to play their recent title.
Can’t help but think that it’s become a business about what can bring in the most money, what brings in the biggest audience. Instead of giving gamers what they want. Or at the very least supporting their games similar to Apple’s approach on their iPhone software updates.

2023.05.29 23:24 Excellent-Owl-4857 I admit it, I found something...

If the mods don't want me to post about this in future, just remove the post and I won't talk about it.
TL;DR:
A few months ago, I posted a picture of me having 12.9 million gold but the post got removed. In the comments here I said that it was only visual, and that I couldn't spend any, but I admit I was lying by omission (where you leave out key bits of evidence).

Part 1: The discovery
Late at night, I was messing around with a few documents containing settings for a game I enjoy. The path to these files were: C:\Users\(my username)\%appdata%\LocalLow, and once I was done, I tried messing about with other locallow files, and I stumbled upon the biggest discovery ever.

Part 2: Previous instances of 'hacking' AdCap
I'm sure you have seen people who show them using Cheat Engine to hack themselves in many values, but upon me trying it, I found it impossible. Around about 18 months later, having beaten the game, I tried everything to see if there was anything that could break this game. And I had experience, too (The games that I had hacked before were Android games, and I got free in-app purchases in many of them). I found nothing that day, logged off my computer and didn't try again until about 4 months ago. But this was accidental.

Part 3: The file
So, in part 1 I mentioned the LocalLow folder. Inside that folder, I found a folder named 'Hyper Hippo Productions Ltd_' and inside that was an absolute horror show. If you have AdCap installed, open this folder for yourself. Ready for the path? Here it comes!
"C:\Users\(username)\AppData\LocalLow\Hyper Hippo Productions Ltd_\AdCap!"
Inside this folder, there is a file titled '7.4-2022-11-21-7.4.5-2.gamedata'. It may be different for you though. Open that file in notepad, and what do you see? Probably gibberish that makes no sense. But I see a gold mine... literally!

Part 4: Commit edits
In notepad, use the find tool to search for 'gold'. Keep searching until you find this:
"StoreItems":[{"Id":"time_warp_express","DisplayName":"Time Warp Express 10 Pack","Active":true,"PurchaseCount":0,"Platforms":"Ios,Android,Steam","DisplayPriority":22,"StoreItemType":"None","Cost":{"Price":50,"Currency":"Gold"},"TriggerDatas":[{"TriggerType":"None"}],"Rewards":[{"RewardType":"Item","Id":"time_warp_express","Qty":10}]}
And modify the numbers after "Qty" and "Price" to say whatever you like. My personal favourite:
"StoreItems":[{"Id":"time_warp_express","DisplayName":"Time Warp Express 1000000 Pack","Active":true,"PurchaseCount":0,"Platforms":"Ios,Android,Steam","DisplayPriority":22,"StoreItemType":"None","Cost":{"Price":0,"Currency":"Gold"},"TriggerDatas":[{"TriggerType":"None"}],"Rewards":[{"RewardType":"Item","Id":"time_warp_express","Qty":1000000}]}
You can do this with any item by the way.
Once you are done, save it as '7.4-2022-11-21-7.4.5-2.gamedata' and MAKE SURE IT HAS SAVED AS .gamedata, NOT .gamedata.txt. After, boot up AdCap, and if you set the price to anything between 0 and -9999999 (the game detects it if you go 10mil or over) you will get the item for free.

HYPER HIPPO, DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW GAMEBREAKING THIS IS? I played for over 18 months to finish the game, and how long do you think it took me, on a fresh account, with this bug? 10 minutes.

2023.05.29 23:07 ElloMelloMelloMello F21, Elevated Liver Enzymes, frequent Acid Reflux, extended menstrual cycles, and other bodily concerns. What could be going on and what should I make sure to ask my PCP?

5’7” 21 y/o Female, 256 lbs. taking Wellbutrin for anxiety, explanation first and then a list of concerning symptoms below that. I tried my best to give an explanation but included a shorter list of symptoms to help out. I know I asked for some advice a couple of weeks ago but I’m even more nervous from the ultrasound coming up and also realizing I forgot to explain the other symptoms that I worry could be related. October 2022 I weighed around 225lbs, I was trying to be more conscious of my movement and so on. I ended up not having my period until December 3rd that month and the cycle was about 52 days in length. Before that it was around 30-34 days a cycle and I was having one every month. Other than that I felt fine, I was taking Prozac (although admittedly I would forget quite often). After December 3rd my next period wouldn’t occur until Feb 1st and then again on March 31st each time the cycle being around 58-60 days. As of right now, I still haven’t had a period since that March 31st. Around January 2023 I realized I had gained a lot of weight and was at around 250 lbs. While I did eat unhealthy I hadn’t drastically changed any activity, snacking, or meal habits nor had stress levels changed dramatically. I would only eat a brunch and a dinner, wouldn’t usually have a snack or dessert, etc. I was a bit confused with why I had gained what felt like a lot of weight. February 2023 I had covid and it was all very minor. Around this time was when I realized my shirts weren’t fitting quite right and I had these massive raised but also divots in my skin. Very red stretch marks all around my stomach and under my arms. I kind of put it to the back of my mind and made more of an effort to walk more and be more mindful of portions, etc. I started to get more concerned though as my periods had been around double the cycle length for around 6 months, combined with my heart rate getting incredibly high just doing light walks and me feeling shaky afterwards (something that had been going on since 2021 but I was told it was just anxiety after having a normal EKG performed). I ended up going to a doctor in late February who ran a CMP, Vitamin D, CBC, Glucose, and TSH labs. Everything was normal except for a slightly love Vitamin D level (19.4 ng/mL) and elevated liver enzymes (AST of 43 u/L and an ALT of 50 u/L). They told me I just needed to do Weight Watchers and walk more. They also said it was normal to have such an extended period cycle. Which I have been trying to do but I still felt like my concerns weren’t adequately answered and so when I came home from college I went and saw my Primary Care Physician. There my PCP took down all of my concerns and ran labs again, I was at about 256 lbs at this time. They ran a Lipid, Testosterone, LH, FSH, CMP, and CBC panels. Everything came back normal except for my CMP where I had elevated liver enzymes (AST was 50 u/L and ALT was 52 u/L). They said it was elevated and had me stop taking NSAIDs (alcohol wasn’t a factor as I had never drank). A week later they did the CMP again and my liver enzyme levels were still elevated but slightly less so (AST was 41 and ALT was 47). So they scheduled me for a Hepatitis test (I’m vaccinated for A & B, I also haven’t heard results yet) and an upper abdominal ultrasound which I have on May 30th. She also switched me to Wellbutrin but I haven’t started yet due to the impact it could have on my liver just while we figure it out. I also go back to speak with my PCP on May 31st. I’m pretty confident the issues with my liver are due to the weight gain (i.e. Non-alcoholic fatty liver) but I’m still quite nervous especially with the other concerning symptoms and wanted some advice on how to handle this all as well as things I should make a point to ask on when I see my PCP on May 31st. Concerning Symptoms: * I used to never have acid reflux and since February I’ve had it with almost anything I eat even if I make sure not to lay down after eating . I don’t know if it’s connected but I used to crave food and food would like sound good you know? And now I just eat because I have to, nothing really sounds good anymore and I don’t know if that’s because I’m worried I’ll get reflux from it or what. * Period cycles have grown from 30-24 days to 58-60 days but I feel symptoms and like general crap for the 4 or so weeks between when it should have started and when it does ( i.e., acne, cramps, tiredness, achiness, moodiness) * Weight gain from 225lbs to 250 in a roughly 3 month span without changing habits * Elevated liver enzymes * Heart rate gets into the 150-160s even just during a 10 minute walk and takes forever to go back down, often leaves me feeling shaky and like I might pass out * Big red/purple stretch marks that either are raised or look like rips in my stomach or under arms * One breast is so much larger than the other I had to buy a size up, hard to tell if it is misshapen in any way or lumpy of if it’s just how it sits since it’s so much bigger, noticed around November I really appreciate any more advice or tips or etc about what could be going on and whether or not to be concerned. Thank you so much and feel free to ask for any more questions, also if photos of the stretch marks are needed let me know.
