2023.06.05 06:12 k-seph_from_deficit What is the adjustment Denver can make to retain Jokic’s playmaking when teams force him to play like a traditional power forward offensively?

Jokic is still the best player in the world and an elite scorer even when not playmaking. I am not blaming this on him but just want to discuss strategy.
The traditional strategy that teams used in the last 3 years in the playoffs to counter Jokic is to neuter his playmaking and letting him operate as a forward.
Jokic in the last 3 years: 2019-20 7.0 to 5.7 2020-21 8.5 to 5.0 2021-22 8.0 to 5.8
Draymond mentioned this in a podcast he did a couple of weeks ago as well that GSW’s entire goal against Denver was to get Jokic’s assist numbers under 6 and he mentioned the one game Jokic looked normal was when the Twolves reduced his playmaking to 6 assists.
The adjustment Denver made this post season to counter this is to run the ball through Murray as much as Jokic, they both have nearly the same usage% of 28-29% instead of Jokic dominating the ball with the idea that if Jokic’s playmaking is clamped like this game, Murray can be the primary play maker and Denver’s offence isn’t completely choked. This has made teams just accept the Jokic playmaking matchup.
However, while Denver has this counter, it’s still better for teams to force Denver to play like this, with Murray effectively playing as a play making point guard and Jokic playing as a paint scoring focused power forward offensively.
This creates a much more even matchup because Jokic is reduced to a ‘normal’ 35 ppg elite scorer as opposed to the best playmaker in the last 30 years who will also put up 25 with ease.
In today’s game when the Heat forced this, Denver’s overall offence was so clamped when Jokic was on the court in the first half while they were forcing the playmaking through him.
He was -11 in a 3 point game with 5 turnovers while being in the -17 to -20 range until the last minute come back attempt. He’s normally a +8 to +10 so that’s at least a -20 point deficit on the Jokic minutes. He at least played more like a PF in the second half instead of forcing the playmaking which reduced the bleeding from his minutes.
Both Jokic and Murray looked shook and had a rough time adjusting to being forced to play new roles by Miami when on the court together in the first half which led to multiple players committing turnovers. The game was close due to the incredible run they went on in the non-Jokic minutes in the second quarter. That was the only stretch that Denver was not either exchanging buckets or getting out hustled.
Denver still the big favourites against the Heat because they still have better players but will need to play much better defense and find ways to generate much better looks for 3s through Murray if Jokic is being held down constantly.
Denver need to make a choice to either decisively run through Murray from the first quarter or have a concrete plan against Miami’s defence clamping Jokic’s playmaking to not neuter that part of the game.

I've had my Mars 3 for a few weeks. Ran calibration prints from 2.5 sec down to 1.6. I'm currently running everything default except the layer height is .035 and bottom layers bumped to 8. My prints are successful but I'm feeling that at 1.75 sec the exposure time is low - seems like a lot of people are closer to 2 sec. I've done some at 2.5 and they were super crisp but really brittle and probably overexposed. Could my printer just work the way it does? It seems like they're semi-consistent in the exposure times but vary from machine to machine.

So, i have a love of finding a tint/foundation that works for my dry skin lol. I have 8 i want to try! But, rationally i don't need them all of course. But, like to try a new summer one.
Likes:I like light to medium coverage. Something that plays well with other products. I always wear SPF during the day. Dewy! Glowy! Luminous! easy to work with and minimally skin prep.
No Like :I don't like something that is sheetransfers/doesn't last long/ Matte or Natural Finish... I like to glow without having to wear a glowy primer.
But, so far i like Mac Face and Body... which is a classic of course. And, it's super similar to my Neutrogena Serum Foundation( i'd say a dupe!!!). I just want a tad more coverage. And, i have no need for a bunch of foundations that are all super similar you know(not only is it wasteful, but it takes me forever to finish a tint/foundation) .
SO how does the following compare to Mac Face and Body.

As another shocking episode of Gundam Witch From Mercury wraps up, I’d thought I take a minute to mention the casting controversy the English dub found itself in by some circles of both fans and anime critics. i Think This deserves a discussion point now for a few reasons:
1)the show has effectively found its audience and I think has impressed the critics who doubted it. 2)today, across the world and especially here in America right-wing activists are taking action to propagate very bigoted legislation. The result has been various attacks on civil liberties and I believe many in the left are becoming more…prone to using the right’s tactics Or at the very least whitewashed liberals are diverting our attention away from more important issues. 3)as the show‘s story Is very anti-authoritarian, the political discussions are warranted.
For those of who don’t know, Witch faced criticism for casting a white actress, Jill Harris, as Suletta who is not white in-universe. Critics also took issue with the fact that Jill and many other voice actors casted were from Crunchyroll, a decidedly anti-union company.
What Do I think of this? I would say to those who criticized the English production team, “GET A LIFE YOU SNOWFLAKED MORONS.”
Why would I say this? For these reasons:

1)MOST English dubs of anime are…not Japanese. I know shocker right? Most of the voice actors are going to be most likely white. This is America. we don’t ask Japan to always give FAKE characters voice actors who properly match their fictional gender or skin color. We dont ask Latin America or any other country to do the same. I guess we should say that because Nadine dosnt have silver hair like Mio has, she should be fired. Or better yet, Keith David wasn’t a Space marine, so please remove him from mass effect. Oh and Naruto wasn’t a girl so fire his voice actress! 2)voice acting is about getting the role right. its escapism. We DONT see who is actually voicing our characters. Because why would we? it Is not important. 3)to criticize Jill Harris and others based.on their personal traits is bigoted and evil. something a MAGA person would do. Jill Harris actually fits the background of Suletta’s sexuality, which is something that really shouldn’t be a talking point but because the cry babies tried to have her job taken away I have to point it out. Jill Harris is married to Dallas Reid, a transgender actor. i am sure Jill KNOWS what she and Dallas have had to face together, so that scene where Suletta questions if girls can marry each other, yeah, the background really adds weight in context. So congrats bigots for being ignorant. Which by the way the Japanese actor for Suletta I am pretty sure can’t say. But again, what truly matters is the acting. 4) why would a company ever choose to get unionized employers? That’s the nature of business people. I don’t personally like it, but the actors still have a choice and the voice acting/animation companies want to make the most profit. this isn’t new news. For gods sake, Disney is anti-union in its animation Department and no one seems to care enough. so yes voice actors are expendable, that is like any other industry. If you want to make a change, how about volunteering for workers comp law, Union law work, or work with your congressmen instead of…complaining about the corporation via by an anime web blog Expecting some change. that’s not really something Suletta would approve of. Read on baseball sabermetric writer Bill James when he gave his thoughts on whether baseball would survive if it fired all of its players today and replaced them-that answer applies here.
